Jennifer Garner passed up a role in “Dallas” due to fear of J.Lo

Jennifer Garner was offered the role of Pamela Ewing in the upcoming “Dallas” movie, but she decided not to do it after learning that J.Lo had already signed on to the project. Seems like Garner has a healthy fear of her husband’s big-bottomed Latina ex:

JENNIFER GARNER reportedly turned down the role of PAMELA EWING in the forthcoming DALLAS movie, after discovering her husband BEN AFFLECK’s ex-fiancee JENNIFER LOPEZ had signed to star in the remake. The ALIAS beauty started dating her DAREDEVIL co-star in July 2004 – seven months after the actor ended his high-profile engagement with J.Lo. British newspaper the Daily Mail claims Garner was in talks to play BOBBY EWING’s wife Pam, but backed out when she realised Lopez would be playing JR’s alcoholic wife SUE-ELLEN. A source says, “Jennifer Garner was really keen to be in Dallas, but I think she felt there would be a bit of a strain between them on the set and that could have led to awkward situations. “Both are totally professional, but there might have been a certain ‘atmosphere’ and Jennifer Garner didn’t need to go there.”

Garner has a happy relationship and a gorgeous baby with Affleck, the man who put a stop to J.Lo’s lavish wedding and gradually dumped her through passive aggressive behavior. Now all J.Lo has is a skeletal husband and a fat stomach that she wears mumus over in an attempt to get people to think it’s a baby bump.

It doesn’t matter how rich or successful J.Lo is, Garner will always be happier and more content because she’s just a genuinely kind, positive person. Judging from her decision to stay away from J.Lo, she has a lot of sense too.

Here’s Garner on the set of “Gone Baby Gone,” which Ben is directing, on 5/24. [via]

Ben Affleck had a terrible headache

Ben Affleck had a migraine so bad he went to the emergency room yesterday:

Affleck was driven to the hospital by his concerned wife, Jennifer Garner, at around 2:30 p.m. He was released about two hours later. A spokesman for the actor-turned director said Affleck was “recuperating at home.”

“Ben Affleck was treated for a migraine at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge today,” said a statement from publicist Ken Sunshine. “He was released (yesterday) afternoon.”

According to an eyewitness, the couple left their rented Cambridge home just outside Harvard Square with Garner at the wheel of their Jeep and Affleck lying down in the back seat. They arrived at the hospital a few minutes later and Garner helped Affleck out of the car.

“He looked kind of sore,” said photographer Paul Adao, who saw the couple at the emergency room. “His wife ran around the car and helped him get out. He was a little shaky and she was asking, ‘Are you OK?’ that type of thing.”

Adao said Affleck appeared to be holding a towel or an icebag in his left hand.

About two hours later the couple emerged with Ben wearing a police cap and an emergency room bracelet on his wrist. A driver backed their Jeep up to the door and they quickly jumped in and made the short trip back to their home.

Two hours is a pretty short period of time to get in and out of the emergency room on a holiday no less, and he was undoubtedly given star treatment.

This isn’t Ben’s first terrible headache. He admitted suffering from post-spinal tap headaches after a spinal tap to check for meningitis in 2004. (I had a spinal tap a while ago, and was laid up for like a week with a headache.)

The article says that Affleck is probably stressed from working as a first-time big budget director on the film
“Gone, Baby, Gone,” starring his brother Casey Affleck and now filming in his hometown of Cambridge, MA. That could be true but he should insist on an MRI. I have a friend from college who had terrible migraines and was told it was stress. It turns out she had a brain tumor. Last I heard from her a couple years ago she was doing fine a few months after surgery. True story.

Violet Affleck and baby-to-be Damon will be best friends

Violet Affleck is nearly six months old, and she’s a little cutie. Matt Damon’s wife, Luciana, is expecting is baby girl in mid-June. Once Damon’s daughter is old enough, she can have playdates with little Violet Affleck!

Damon enthuses, “We’re due in mid-June, but who knows? We could be now.
“Yeah, they (my daughter and Violet) will have playdates. All we have to do is end up living in the same city!” The actor admits he is thrilled he is having a baby girl, because his step-daughter Alexia didn’t want a brother.
He says, “Believe me, if it was a boy it would have been a big problem. She wasn’t having it. She definitely wanted a sister.”

That’s so cute and those little girls are going to be adorable.

Here is the Affleck family out for breakfast in Cambridge. Look at how Jennifer Garner thanks the man who opens the door for her!

Jennifer Garner in talks for new political thriller

Alias is ending on May 22nd, and Jennifer Garner has said that she’s looking forward to some time off with her nearly six month-old daughter, Violet. She may not have much time to rest, because she’s negotiating for a role in The Kingdom, a political thriller:

It looks as if Jennifer Garner is in talks to join the cast of The Kingdom, a political thriller about an FBI team investigating the bombing of American workers in the Middle East. Directed by Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights) the Universal Pictures film already has Jamie Foxx and Chris Cooper on board. Given the plot outline, it looks like Garner would be in familiar government super agent territory, considering her long tenure as the indefatigable Sydney Bristow (an agent who knows both Krav Maga, electromagnetic lock picking and Pilates!).

Garner made headlines last week with her charity work with hurricane Katrina victims. She toured New Orleans with Reese Witherspoon and Cicely Tyson, and was brought to tears by a children’s performance:

“I’ve been shocked and heartbroken,” said Garner, star of TV’s “Alias” and the film “Elektra,” who cried when the children danced and sang “Something Inside So Strong” by South African singer Labi Siffre.

It’s good of her to lend her celebrity to the cause, and more government resources and effort should be put into support for Katrina victims. Many were without adequate housing for months.

Garner has said that Alias had a good run, but that she is sad to leave her character behind.

Whatever she does next, Garner is sure to do well. She’s a positive, friendly person and doesn’t take her success for granted.

Here she is outside The Late Show last night, and in New Orleans with Reese Witherspoon. There is also a scan from People magazine about their trip. [via]

Jennifer Garner is sad about Alias ending

Jennifer Garner has said that her ABC show Alias has run its course, but that she’s sad to leave her character Sydney behind. It sounds like she’s making the best of the situation:

“It definitely feels appropriate,” Garner says. “To me, this show had a finite amount of stories that we could tell. The only reason I say that is not because of the writers, because they’re geniuses, but part of their genius is that they shove a ton of story into every episode. So we’ve told, in five years, what some people would do in seven seasons.

“So, it feels like it’s time. We’ve done Sydney right, and now it’s time for her to go off into the sunset. But that does not mean that my heart doesn’t break, and I’m not going through a total identity crisis, because I am.”

Garner also missed doing her own stunts while she was pregnant, and was thrilled to get the change to jump off a ten-story building while filming the show last wekend:

She explained, “I haven’t done any of that stuff since I’ve been pregnant, so I told the stunt coordinator, ‘Let’s do it, AFTER I put the baby to bed.’”

The star leaped off the ABC office building last Saturday while filming the final season of her hit TV series.

Garner added, “When am I ever going to get the chance to jump off of the ABC building again?”

Garner is a positive, friendly person and sounds so gracious in her comments about the series. Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow and Eva Longoria – take a note!

Jennifer Garner to take time off after Alias wraps

Jennifer Garner said she’s looking forward to a break from working after Alias wraps. She also said that she was quite embarassed by the birth scene in Alias, and that it was difficult for her to film around the male crew of “Alias,” with whom she’s grown close over her years on the series:

The sexy new mom will reveal to Extra that the scene where she gives birth on the TV show was “the single most embarrassing thing I’ve ever done on the show. Guys this is not what it was like for me” – she tells the crew – “turn your heads.”

Alias will be on ABC this week in a two hour episode that shows Garner giving birth:

Virginia Rohan reports that the Emmy-winning spy drama returns to ABC’s lineup this week with a two-hour “event” that includes the birth of her agent Sydney Bristow’s baby and the reappearance of the presumed-dead Michael Vaughn (Michael Vartan).

Garner says she’s going to take time off, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that she doesn’t have any projects lined up. It was reported at the end of March that she is going to get nude in an upcoming erotic thriller. It doesn’t bode well for her nude scene that she was so shy about portraying the act of childbirth for Alias.

Garner celebrated her birthday on the set of Alias. She turned 34 on April 17th.

Here are pictures of Garner visiting a friend in East Hollywood [via] and celebrating her birthday on the set of Alias. She is shown dancing on the beach when a plane flies overhead with a “Happy Birthday” sign for her. The baby she is holding is for the show, and is not her four month-old, Violet, who was reportedly on set with her.

Violet Affleck rushed to hospital with breathing problems

Four month-old Violet Affleck, the baby daughter of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, was rushed to hospital when she had trouble breathing on April 8th. She is fine now, but the new family had quite a scare:

In Touch Weekly is reporting that on April 8 the 4-month-old adorable little girl had to be rushed to a medical building in Century City, Calif.

It seems Violet was having difficulty breathing, says an insider, who adds that the baby was also tested for asthma.

The weekly tabloid cites an eyewitness that said, “Ben and Jen looked so worried. As Ben carried Violet, Jen kept peering into the blanket to check on her…”

They got their little girl in for care and about an hour later, a much calmer family emerged, and they headed straight home with Violet.

That must be when the recent pictures of Violet were taken. It’s scary to have a baby with a medical problem, and we hope that Violet is completely recovered.

Jennifer Garner has admitted that she’s scared of filming the scene in Alias where her character gives birth:

The actress, who gave birth to baby Violet last December, fears her on-screen labor will be a huge
embarrassment.

She says, “I think it is going to be an incredibly embarrassing day. I have been dreading this moment as long as I have known it was coming. I can’t even imagine being in front of my crew. It is not even about the people watching it on TV. Imagine what this crew has seen me do over the last five years? I still get embarrassed any time I have to not have my clothes on around them, because those are my guys. They are all like brothers or father figures, so it will be a rough day for me.”

First peek at Violet Affleck

Here’s a cute picture of Violet Anne Affleck, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s four month-old daughter. Violet was born on December 1, 2005.

A cute blurry picture of the baby came out a couple of weeks ago, but you can’t see her face.

She looks adorable although this picture isn’t too flattering!

Affleck is making headlines for his comments on “Real Time with Bill Mahar” that Bush should be “hung” for treason for leaking the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame:

Bill Sammon, Washington Examiner: “A lot of critics are conflating the two and are saying that because Bush disclosed this piece of information, they’re implying that Bush leaked the name.”
Ben Affleck: “He probably also leaked the name. There’s just no proof of that.”

Sammon: “Even the prosecutor, even Fitzgerald is saying Bush didn’t leak the name. So let’s be clear, Bush didn’t leak Valerie Plame’s name — not that we know of.”

Affleck: “Because if he did, you can be hung for that! That’s treason!”

Bill Maher: “That is treason.”

Affleck: “You could be killed. That’s not a joking around Tom DeLay ‘I’ll do a year, I bribed the state officials with corporate money.’ That’s like they shoot you in the battlefield for doing that. Don’t you think we should find out who leaked that name?”

Affleck is right, that is treason and Bush should be tried for it, not to mention the fact that he deliberately led the country into war on completely false pretenses.

Here’s Violet Affleck. Linked pictures are about the same quality as shown in the header image above.

Jennifer Garner to get naked in new film

Jennifer Garner is set to take it all off in a new erotic thriller. Her production company, Vandalia Films, is creating the picture, titled “Sabbatical,” which will have a missing person plot with a twist:

The story’s premise follows a couple that hits the seventh-year-itch of marriage. To inject some life into their union, they decide to take a two-week sabbatical from each other during which, within a set of agreed rules, they can do whatever they want. When the wife returns to the agreed-upon meeting place two weeks later, however, she discovers that her husband has disappeared.

In these pictures taken of Garner shopping in Santa Monica yesterday, she looks like she has slimmed down in preparation to go back to work. She has said that she is losing weight slowly instead of going on a radical diet in order to make sure that she and her nursing baby Violet, almost four months, are healthy.

Update: Four additional pictures of Garner shopping in Brentwood without sunglasses. She looks great. More pictures after the jump.
