Jenny McCarthy says she won’t marry Jim Carrey

Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey have always seemed like they have a cool relationship. The pair have never made a big deal out of their coupledom – neither courting nor hiding from the paparazzi. In fact a lot of people didn’t even realize they were dating until they’d been together a good six months. They have both joked that they see no need to get married – but when two people makes as many jokes as the famous comedians, it’s hard to tell when they really mean it. But Jenny has stated flat-out that she and Jim won’t ever be getting married, as neither of them see the point anymore. And they won’t be adding any more kids to their brood either.

She’s committed to funnyman Jim Carrey, but Jenny McCarthy tells In Touch that they won’t be walking down the aisle. “We’re living together, we don’t want any more children and we’re very happy — all that’s going to be is a piece of paper, really,” Jenny says of marriage. The 35-year-old divorced actress notes that marriage doesn’t mean love will last forever. “What is it a guarantee of? I’ll be yours forever? I’ll be faithful? Bull!” The mother of Evan Asher, 5, also adds that she doesn’t need to marry to have additional children — because she doesn’t want more: “This womb is closed.” But she does admit that Jim, 46 — who’s been divorced twice — makes her happy. “He is the light of my life and we’re more in love now than we have been in our entire relationship.” Jenny spoke to In Touch on the set of a webisode for inthemotherhood.com. Jim has a 20-year-old daughter, Jane, with his ex-wife, Melissa Womer.

I couldn’t tell from Jenny’s phrasing if she meant that marriage is no guarantee of faithfulness, or of HER faithfulness. A lot of famous couples that say they won’t get married claim it’s because they don’t need a piece of paper or a church to tell them they’re together forever. Jenny seems to be saying the opposite: there’s no point in getting married because even that doesn’t guarantee people won’t part. Which is true, it’s just funny because it’s the opposite reason so many other people give. Jim and Jenny make a lot of sense together, and seem like a pretty great match compared to a lot of other famous couples. I’d guess their shot of being together for the long haul is still pretty good, regardless of any marriage certificate.

Good Celebrity: Jim Carrey & Jenny McCarthy are autism inspirations

top-dgg-014281.jpg

Boy, Jim Carrey is really getting a lot of good stuff done lately. First he spoke out about the atrocities in Myanmar at the United Nations, and now he’s helping longtime girlfriend Jenny McCarthy raise money for autism. Actually he’s been doing it quietly for several years. McCarthy has a five-year-old son who was diagnosed with autism, and since then has become a vocal advocate for research. The two attended a fundraising event at a private home in Los Angeles, where Dr. David Feinberg, chief executive officer of the UCLA Hospital System, called McCarthy his hero for all the work she’s done related to autism, and called Carrey an “autism healer.” Those are some pretty powerful descriptions.

“You can ogle Jenny McCarthy – just don’t Google her, says her protective boyfriend, Jim Carrey. The funnyman, 45, effectively played it for laughs at a recent fundraiser, held at a private home in Pacific Palisades, Calif., for a UCLA program specializing in early autism intervention. McCarthy, 34, is a highly vocal advocate working with her 5-year-old son, Evan, in his struggle with autism. In his formal remarks at the fundraiser, Dr. David Feinberg, chief executive officer of the UCLA Hospital System, referred to the actress as ‘my hero’ and cited her efforts to raise awareness of the condition.

“So impressed was Feinberg with McCarthy’s efforts, he said, that his son used her as a subject for a school paper on heroes. In researching his essay, the youngster was instructed by his father ‘to Google’ McCarthy, whose resumé includes being a Playboy Playmate. This got a laugh from the audience and a rise out of Carrey – who leapt to his feet, shot an Ace Ventura glower around the room and then fixed his eyes on Feinberg. ‘What’s your son doing Googling my girlfriend?’ Carrey demanded to know. In a more serious moment, Carrey – whom McCarthy has described as a remarkably helping hand with her son – was called an “autism healer” by Feinberg. Carrey is also one of the sponsors of the treatment center.”

[From People]

That’s amazing that Carrey sponsors the treatment center. Jenny McCarthy has done a lot of autism work, but she’s also got a slightly kooky side. Jenny believes her son is an “Indigo Child” and has special abilities because of it. It’s kind of complex, here’s a link to a post Celebitchy wrote about it a few months ago. Jenny mentioned Later, McCarthy spoke at the podium about Carrey’s daughter, Jane, 20. “For so long I have had psychics say they see me with a daughter,” she said. “I now know what they are talking about.” Okay well that’s sweet, if a little bizarre. I wouldn’t know what to say if my stepmom said something like that to me. “Thanks, you’re crazy?” Something like that. Either way, it’s nice to see what a sweet, well-adjusted, loving couple – and family – they’ve become.

Jim Carrey starring in new comedy; still rocking the Yanni hair

carreyhair.jpg
Jim Carrey has pushed that girl hair thing for too long. Why do men do that? The best compliment he could receive is, “Hey, you’re not totally ugly with that ponytail.” No guy ever looks better for it, in my expert opinion. In actual news (not that ugly hair doesn’t count as actual news) this past weekend Harry Potter producer David Heyman told MTV News that he and Jim Carrey are working on a script for a movie titled “Yes Man.” It’s about a depressed man who says no to everything. He decides to change his outlook and say yes to absolutely everything, and hilarious hi jinks ensue. I assume the part about the hi jinks because Heyman says it’s a comedy, and otherwise it sounds thoughtful, and like something we might actually learn from.

After the perceived failure of Carrey’s thriller “The Number 23,” “Yes Man” — based on a book by Danny Wallace — will return him to the high-concept comedy realm that served him well in “Liar, Liar” and “Bruce Almighty.” The flick will mix the dilemmas he faced in those films with a more realistic concept along the lines of the Peter Sellers classic “Being There,” with Carrey’s character using his self-imposed limitations to uncover the strange roads life takes him down.

“It’s about a man who finds himself very depressed, and is always saying no. When friends ask him out, he always says no,” Heyman said of the script. “[The film will explore] what happens when he decides to say yes to every thing that comes his way.”

When asked what the tone of the flick would be, Heyman insisted it would be old-school Carrey. “It’s really funny,” he grinned. “It’s one of the funniest scripts I’ve read.”

[From MTV News]

No one does dumb comedy better than Jim Carrey, but this movie sounds like it might actually have a little substance. Carrey has spoken previously about his struggles with depression and bipolar disorder, so it’ll be interesting to see if some of his own experiences come out in this movie. Jim and Jenny McCarthy seem to still be going strong. For a while they had twin haircuts, and I thought that was symbolic that they were equal partners in their relationship. Now Jim’s hair is much longer than Jenny’s, so I’m going to assume that means that Jim is now the girl in the relationship. The two have been pretty low key about their relationship, and seem like a really good match. Don’t worry; I’m still going to monitor their hair for signs of trouble.
