Jessica Alba at the MTV movie awards, 24 HQ photos

Jessica Alba hosted the MTV movie awards this year and took home the award for sexiest performance. She was honored for her role in Sin City 2.

This was the first year MTV had male and female performers compete for the same awards, with single categories not separated by gender.

“Brokeback Mountain” and “Wedding Crashers” won five awards:

Brokeback Mountain and Wedding Crashers were the big winners, scooping five awards between them.

Jake Gyllenhaal took the trophy for best performance for his role in the gay cowboy movie, and his screen smooch with co-star Heath Ledger was named best kiss.

Comedy Wedding Crashers won the best film, best screen team and best breakthrough performance awards.

Among the other winners were: Steve Carell - who won best comedic performance for The 40-year-old Virgin, Christian Bale - who won best hero for his lead role in Batman Begins, Hayden Christian - who was named best villain for Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith - and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt scooped best fight for Mrs and Mrs Smith.

Here is Alba on the red carpet, during the show and in her press room appearance. Everything about her is gorgeous - except for her hideous shoes! Pictures [via]

Did Jessica Alba break Cash Warren’s heart?

Jessica Alba is moving to NY and is leaving her broken-hearted boyfriend, Cash Warren, in LA. Warren, 26, wanted to propose to Alba, 25, but it doesn’t seem like she is open to it:

Cash Warren, 26, was planning to propose to Jessica Alba, 25, just to motivate her to stay in Los Angeles.

But insiders think it’s unlikely Jessica changes her mind, Life&Style claims.

“She likes things the way they are,” a source close to Jessica Alba reported.

Jessica Alba began dating Cash Warren, a director’s assistant on Fantastic Four, whom she met when filming that movie, in 2005. Same year, Jessica revealed she was beginning a children’s clothing line:

“About four of my girlfriends have babies so they have no time for me. I figure if I can do baby clothes maybe they’ll have more time to hang out!”

Men everywhere will be delighted by this news, but we’re romantics and hope it’s not true. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Jessica Alba nose job controversy: Part II

On Monday we reported that it looked like Jessica Alba had a nose job based on HQs of her at two different events last week. She was at the premiere of “An Inconvenient Truth” last night, and her nose still looks different than it did at the ALMA awards, but not dramatically so.

We checked out earlier pictures of Alba, and it seems like the lighting at the ALMA awards was particularly unflattering.

She could be using some alternate method to shrink her nose, as was mentioned in the article we sourced. If she did have work done, it was subtle. At this point we don’t think she had a nose job.

Here is Alba at the ALMA awards, and at premiere of “An Inconvenient Truth” in LA. “An Inconvenient Truth” is a documentary about global warming featuring president Al Gore:

Director Davis Guggenheim eloquently weaves the science of global warming with Mr. Gore’s personal history and lifelong commitment to reversing the effects of global climate change. A longtime advocate for the environment, Gore presents a wide array of facts and information in a thoughtful and compelling way. “Al Gore strips his presentations of politics, laying out the facts for the audience to draw their own conclusions in a charming, funny and engaging style, and by the end has everyone on the edge of their seats, gripped by his haunting message,” said Guggenheim. An Inconvenient Truth is not a story of despair but rather a rallying cry to protect the one earth we all share. “It is now clear that we face a deepening global climate crisis that requires us to act boldly, quickly, and wisely,” said Gore.

Alba is concerned about the environment and drives a hybrid Prius. You can do your part by walking and riding your bike whenever possible, replacing your lightbulbs with energy star efficient bulbs, and reusing plastic bags. Minor changes do make a difference.

Did Jessica Alba get a nose job?

Plastic Fantastic is reporting that Jessica Alba’s nose looks surgically altered based on photos taken of her several days apart last week. At the ALMA awards on 5/7 her nose looks normail, but in a photo taken at Joe Francis’ birthday party on 5/11, it looks pinched and strange. The article explains:

It’s most likely that she’s just sucking in her nostrils, but her face looks too natural for her to be doing that. Also her nostrils don’t look deflated, which would occur if she was using the muscles on her face to “squeeze” her nose down. But she’s smiling very widely.

If she did get a nose job, it’s bad, because it’s much too small, pointy and…for lack of a better word, dinky.

Jessica has expressed unhappiness about her nose in the past, she mentioned that she can’t use too much powder on her nose, because it’s round.

A rhinoplasty usually takes a few weeks to a month to be presentable, but apparently Ashlee Simpson’s nose job healed in 5 days as well - and hers is very real and very apparent.

They can use injectable fillers above and below a hump, like Ashlee’s nose, to camouflage the hump, but to shrink a nose you actually need to do a full on surgery to remove material from inside.

It’s possible she’s wearing a lot of makeup, and has taken anti-inflammatories such as bromelain, arnica and cortisone steroids. Or she’s just squeezing her nose. On some of the close-ups, here, there’s some slight discoloration around her cheeks, close to the nose.

At first I didn’t believe that Alba got a nose job, but then I looked carefully at several before and after HQs and her nose seems to take up less space now. You can see a real difference in these two pictures:

Before HQ: 5/7/06
After HQ: 5/11/06

There’s a little discoloration in her cheeks near her nose as the article mentions. Her nose could look smaller due to a difference in the lighting or makeup, and it’s not that clear cut a difference across different photos. Her new nose doesn’t look as bad as the article suggests, but it was cuter before.

There is also a good debate on the gossip rocks forum whether or not she’s had a nose job.

Here are some more pictures to compare for yourself. These are pretty big, but you can see super high-res versions at the source:

Costume Institute Gala over 100 photos

The Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art held a ball last night to celebrate the opening of an exhibit on British design. Sienna Miller, wearing an awful gold sequined minidress and black tights, served as co-chair for the event.

The star-studded Costume Institute Gala was the opening event for a new exhibition celebrating British design at New York’s prestigious Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The flamboyant show, made up of themed rooms including a Hunt Ball and a Gentleman’s Club, is the latest example of the city’s growing obsession with all things from across the pond.

Celebrities from the UK including Liz Hurley, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell put on their glad rags for the lavish event.

The Americans were represented by A-listers including Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker and Richard Gere.

The British-born editor of American Vogue, Anna Wintour, swept in first.

Miller, who teamed her glittering frock with opaque black tights and wore her hair tied back in a simple ponytail, shared the limelight with Christopher Bailey, the creative director of Burberry.

He and Wintour were the starlet’s fellow co-chairs. The fashion house and Vogue publisher Condé Nast have sponsored the exhibition.

The guy dressed like a cabaret pirate posing with Charlize Theron is Dior designer John Galiano. He’s responsible for her monstrosity of an Oscar gown with the giant shoulder bow. Sienna Miller is shown with Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s creative director.

We have over 100 pictures from the event. Stars and designers attending include Alexander McQueen, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, John Galliano, Charlize Theron, Lindsay Lohan, Victoria Beckham, Emmy Rossum, Eva Mendes, Gisele Bundchen, Gretchen Mol, Jessica Alba, Josh Hartnett, Lenny Kravitz, Donatella Versace, Rupert Everett, Linda Evangelista and Amber Valetta, Jessica Alba, Marcia Gay Harden, Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, Melania Trump, Donald Trump, Molly Sims, Rosario Dawson, Scarlett Johansson, Stella McCartney, Amanda Peet, Andre Leon Talley, Naomi Campbell, Angela Lindvall, Angie Harmon, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Bridget Moynahan, Tom Brady, Chloe Sevigny, Ciara, Dita Von Teese and Marliyn Manson, Drew Barrymore, Elizabeth Hurley, Erin O’Connor, Matthew Williamson, Eve, Gina Gershon, Ginnifer Goodwin, Ivana Trump, Jacquetta Wheeler, Jason Lewis, Jessica Stam, John Legend, Johnny Rotten, Josh Lucas, Joy Bryant, Julia Stegner, Iselin Steiro, Karolina Kurkova, Lily Cole, Lauren Bush, Lily Donaldson, Gemma Ward, Liv Tyler, Francisco Costa, Lydia Hearst, Mandy Moore, Minnie Driver, Nick Cannon, Petra Nemcova, Rachel Roy, Damon Dash, Ralph Fiennes, Richard Gere, Cary Lowell, Thandie Newton, Selma Blair, Shalom Harlow, Sienna Miller, Christopher Bailey, designer for Burberry, Zooey Deschanel, Sophie Dahl, Ivanka Trump, Mark Ruffalo, Taye Diggs, Idima Menzel, and Sarah Wynter.

Hot Hollywood Awards: huge picture post

Us Weekly’s Hot Hollywood Awards were held Wednesday night. Jessica Alba had a near nip-slip that resulted in some cute picture of her pulling her dress strap up. (Wireimage did not capture this, so you’ll have to see it everywhere else.)

Despite Us Weekly’s content, stars were pleased to show up for the party.

Jennifer Love Hewitt said she has ended up several times on the magazine’s worst-dressed list, but was still tickled that she won the hottest body award in the new issue. Both Hewitt and Jesse McCartney showed up with shorter ‘dos. And Tori Spelling confirmed that she has hired a wedding planner for her upcoming nuptials to Dean McDermott. Still, she insisted she’s planning something small. “I just want to look good for him,” Spelling said.

We have over 50 pictures of the party arrivals, including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Alba, Alessandra Ambrosio, Brittany Murphy, Cindy Margolis, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Ludacris, Harry Hamlin, Lisa Rinna, Haylie Duff, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Paris Hilton, Victoria Silvstedt, Avril Lavigne, Carmen Electra, Dave Navarro, Michelle Trachtenberg, Rachael Leigh Cook, Nicky Hilton, Gabrielle Union, Kelly Osbourne, Kimberly Stewart, Stacy Keibler, Ryan Seacrest, Sofia Vergara, Taryn Manning, Maria Sharapova, Melinda Clarke, Tom Green with a fanny pack, and Tori Spelling.

Update: Images removed on request.

Jessica Alba at the Malibu Film Festival

Jessica Alba spoke at the closing night of the second annual Malibu Film Festival on Monday. She was accompanied by her boyfriend, Cash Warren.

The Malibu Film Festival is a competition festival for independent films, similar to Sundance. The best film award was given to “Proposition,” with a screenplay by musician Nick Cave:

The closing night feature film, The Proposition, directed by John Hillcoat with a script by rocker Nick Cave, will be screened at The Jaguar Theatre in Malibu. The film is set in the harsh and rugged Australian outback of the 1880s and is a tale of loyalty and revenge as a brother must make an impossible choice when he is offered the chance to save one brother from execution by tracking and killing his older brother.

And as a counterbalance to these serious pictures of Alba, here’s a video of her in a bikini in Costa Rica:

Jennifer Tilly had 2 half nip-slips in a too-tight knitted dress, and Patricia Arquette’s makeup was hideously brown and cakey. She should have asked Alexis, her transgendered sibling, to do her makeup for her. Alexis looked well coiffed and well put together when compared to her melting sister.

    32 pictures total.

    Jessica Alba forgives Playboy

Jessica Alba has forgiven Hugh Hefner for putting her on the cover of Playboy in a bikini without her permission. Alba was said to be embarassed by the issue, which seemed to suggest that she would be found naked inside. She threatened legal action and asked for the issue to be retracted, but a kind letter from Hefner convinced her to change her mind:

In his letter to Alba, Hefner apologized for “any distress unintentionally caused by the publication of your photo” on the March cover.

“What was intended as a tribute to your tremendous popularity has been misinterpreted by some as something else for which we are truly sorry since we are among your biggest fans,” Hefner said.

“In light of Mr. Hefner’s personal apology for Playboy’s unauthorized use of my photo on their cover, I have decided to discontinue my claims against them,” Alba, 24, said in a written statement.

“This was never about money, it was about setting the record straight about something that was done without my knowledge or consent,” she added.

Alba’s lawyers were said to be in talks with representatives from Playboy, but have ultimately decided to avoid costly and time consuming legal action. It seems like Alba just wanted to make a point, and it has been well taken.

Alba has a different beef with MTV, which staged a kiss with the hot actress with an aggressive chimpanzee for a clip that aired during the MTV Movie Awards. Alba says the chimp stuck its tongue in her mouth and bared its teeth at her:

She explained: “It was awful. All of a sudden there was a monkey in my arms and I had to do a clip for ‘most romantic moment’ award at the MTV movie awards. So the monkey’s in my arms and I’m supposed to give her a peck. She opened her mouth and her tongue is scraping against my teeth. Monkeys’ teeth are really long, kind of like a snake.

“Then I had to do it again and she grabbed both of my ears and screamed in my face and showed me all of her teeth. I thought she was going to bite my face off. I think monkeys should be left in trees.”

Surely any human would have been pleased to take over for the reluctant chimp.

Here is Alba with her boyfriend, Cash Warren, taking out the trash. Hollywood Tuna points out that she’s wearing a T-Shirt with his name on it, and that Cash is more than happy to let her do the heavy lifting.

    Four more after the jump.

Paris Hilton and Jessica Alba get parking tickets

In the past two days, Paris Hilton and Jessica Alba have neglected to pay the meter. Hilton’s mistake in West Hollywood is made all the richer by the countless paparazzi and onlookers that witnessed the incident. All someone had to do was fish out a quarter to help the girl out, but no one bothered. In the image above, several people are gathered around Hilton’s car to mock her misfortne.

Alba received a parking ticket on her Toyota Hybrid on 3/27, while Hilton got the ticket yesterday on her $500,000 SLR McLaren Mercedes Benz. Hilton was at a tanning salon while her car was ticketed.

    Six more after the jump.
