Celebrities are channeling Gidget these days, stepping out in minidresses with a classic 1960s silhouette. I’m definitely a fan of this shape; it’s not the most sophisticated of garments, but it’s certainly a fresh, playful look. And because a lot of these dresses have long sleeves, you can still show off your legs during the winter months without getting hypothermia. (It’s worth a shot, anyway.)

So how are the stars adapting this style to suit their personal mojos? J Lo. updates her burgundy number with rich-looking accessories and the usual bronzed-to-perfection skin, while Sienna (seen here shortly before her latest breakup with Jude) is pure 1960s fashion icon thanks to the graphic-splash neckline on her dress. Last but not least is one of the Olsen twins (I’m afraid I’ve lost the ability to tell them apart) in the pages of Teen Vogue, wearing a decidedly Austin Powers-esque go-go girl shift.

What will be next in the retro parade?

Marc Anthony hightailed it out of there when he saw his poorly made-up wife getting it on with healthy hottie LL Cool J for a video shoot.

Hey, at least he didn’t freak out, flip anyone off or shove and shout at LL for getting too close to his woman. Marc probably realizes he would lose any fight with buff LL. in about two minutes. Hell, LL is so confident about it he’s telling the story to the papers.

Jennifer Lopez’s makeup looks simply awful. That shade of green eyeshadow is hideous and coupled with that bleeding pale-pink lipstick and shiny skin she just looks bad. Wouldn’t you wipe off your face and reapply your own makeup if a colorblind makeup artist did that to you?

Lopez is being sued for $35,000 for not paying for flights she and husband Marc Anthony chartered. Maybe she’s trying to show how poor she is by wearing bad drug store makeup.

Since J.Lo can’t get pregnant, she probably figures she’ll settle for looking matronly. What the hell is she wearing? She undoubtedly designed that craptacular outfit herself. It looks quite scratchy and polyester, but considering that J.Lo’s wearing it, it’s probably some rare kind of polyester that’s made from the skin of endangered seals. It might look kind of hot and retro if it was sleeveless, but she inexplicably tacked some puffy sleeves on it. And look - she’s wearing a matching silver do-rag!

She looks like she’s trying to channel her “Monster In-Law” co-star Jane Fonda circa 1968, but Fonda looked much more fierce.

Jennifer Lopez is supposedly pregnant, and this time it sounds like more than a rumor. Former American Idol star Jesse McCartney, who is said to be a friend of Lopez and her husband, Marc Anthony, let the news slip during a radio station interview:

People think J.Lo is pregnant every few months, so this doesn’t seem substantial until she’s showing or it’s officially confirmed. There haven’t been many candids of J.Lo recently, but that only means she hasn’t been hitting the paparazzi spots or going to high profile events. She is due to attend the Toronto Film Festival next month, so we’ll have to scope out the pictures to see if she has a bump.

Meanwhile a British rag claims that J.Lo didn’t quit “Dallas” - she was fired because John Travolta can’t stand her:

If this is true, and I doubt it, Travolta might be so vehemently against J.Lo because she rejected his freaky cult religion, Scientology. Remember all those pictures of J.Lo out shopping with Leah Remini? She undoubtedly tried to convert her to Scientology, and I bet Catholic J.Lo wasn’t having it.

Besides, it was said that J.Lo quit “Dallas” because the production was sinking fast and she thought Travolta wasn’t up to par as a leading man. He may have heard that she didn’t want to star in with him, and leaked the news that it was his decision, not hers. It’s classic.

Here’s an ad for Lopez’ new “Luxe” fragrance line. Some horny art director made an unappreciated designer spend a lot of time getting her to look just naked enough to make allergy-aggravating cheap perfume look sexy. I wonder if her areolas are really this big. Hey - big nipples are a sign of pregnancy, or heartbreakingly ineffective ongoing fertility treatment.

J.Lo’s first ex husband, Ojani Noa, is unable to publish a tell-all book about their relationship now that Lopez won a case against him publishing the book. He signed a confidentiality agreement with Lopez in late 2005 as part of his settlement payout for a breach of contract lawsuit against her. Noa claimed that Lopez had him unfairly fired from his manager position at her Pasadena restaurant, Madre’s.

In April Noa told Lopez’s attorneys that he’d put the book out unless she paid him a cool $5 million. Of course the diva wasn’t having that and sued him in an attempt to block the book, which is said to have juicy details like J.Lo cheating on P.Diddy in 1999 with Marc Anthony. Unfortunately J.Lo was successful and we won’t be able to get our hands on the novel, but one detail did come out: Noa claims Lopez does Santeria on her enemies to get back at them:

I believe this, because Lopez was said to have consulted a Santeria advisor at the time of her upcoming wedding to Ben Affleck. The voodoo guru told her to call it off:

That’s pretty funny and we hope more dirt gets released on Lopez even though the book was blocked. If she’s gullible enough to believe in voodoo, maybe Lea Remini will successfully convert her to Scientology.

Marc Anthony took out a bizarre ad in Variety, declaring his love for J.Lo in the format of a film script:

This is our theory, and we have reader Angelika to thank for the insight: something is totally wrong with Marc Anthony. He looks deathly ill, with bags under his eyes and a sunken face. We think he’s suffering quietly from an illness and wants to let Lopez know in the most public way possible that he loves her. Doesn’t this seem like the type of thing a dying person would do? He says “Here’s to never waking up, Baby,” in the ad, which could be a dual reference to the dream-like state of love and death. Unless their two year marriage is in trouble, which would be completely uncharacteristic of J.Lo, it seems like the most plausible explanation.

We’re oversensationalizing this story, though, because there were three other ads from studios praising J.Lo in that issue of Variety, and Anthony probably just wanted to add his loving regards.

I’m starting to feel sorry for Marc Anthony. Not only is he married to Jennifer Lopez, he also looks like he’s suffering from an intestinal disorder or is addicted to heroin. He really needs to take some vitamins and do a liver cleanse. Maybe J.Lo feels sorry for him too, which would explain the record-breaking nearly two year length of her latest marriage. Or she could just be such an ambitious woman that she refuses to give up on Anthony’s sperm. She might think that since he already has three children he’s got to have it in him to produce one more, even if he looks like he’s at death’s door.

TMZ quotes a boutique store employee as saying that Lopez still had flat abs when she shopped there with her new friend Leah Remini last week, and The Post Chronicle claims that J.Lo told an insider that the paparrazi are following her constantly because they think she’s pregnant. According to a thinly veiled work of fiction about J.Lo, she deliberately tries to get the press to think she’s pregnant for publicity purposes.

In these latest photos if her leaving the gym with Leah Remini [via] and at the 2006 Crystal & Lucy Awards, [via] she doesn’t look pregnant at all.

Jennifer Garner was offered the role of Pamela Ewing in the upcoming “Dallas” movie, but she decided not to do it after learning that J.Lo had already signed on to the project. Seems like Garner has a healthy fear of her husband’s big-bottomed Latina ex:

Garner has a happy relationship and a gorgeous baby with Affleck, the man who put a stop to J.Lo’s lavish wedding and gradually dumped her through passive aggressive behavior. Now all J.Lo has is a skeletal husband and a fat stomach that she wears mumus over in an attempt to get people to think it’s a baby bump.

It doesn’t matter how rich or successful J.Lo is, Garner will always be happier and more content because she’s just a genuinely kind, positive person. Judging from her decision to stay away from J.Lo, she has a lot of sense too.

Jennifer Lopez, who may be pregnant finally depending on how much evidence you need, is going to get her own reality show on MTV in which she auditions dancers for an excuse to make a show about their hard knock life:

I don’t know about Lopez’s “dancing out of love” comment. Dancers must enjoy it or they wouldn’t make it their career, but J.Lo’s dancing career was easily abandoned for singing and acting, and it seems like she does it out of pure ambition.

Lopez has somehow avoided a lawsuit for pulling out of her strange handful of tour dates in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. She promised to reimburse concert promoters for costs incurred in preparing for the shows she pulled out of, and they have agreed not to sue her.

She is also quoted as saying that thinking about her ex, Ben Affleck, and his new family makes her depressed.

So far the only source for J.Lo’s supposed pregnancy seems to be In Touch magazine. We’ll believe it when and if she looks further along.
