Jeremy Renner versus Josh Holloway: which of the ‘MI4′ boys would you rather?

Last week, my mom called me and said, “I had forgotten that your boyfriend was in the new Mission: Impossible movie!” To which I replied, “Which boyfriend?” Because I have two boyfriends in MI4, and I love them both in different ways, and I kind of love that Tom Cruise and I have the same taste in men (ha!). Jeremy Renner is the hot, weird, amazing little guy, the pocket rocket with the bedroom eyes who… well, I just know he would rock my world. My other boyfriend, Josh Holloway, would also rock my world. So how is Josh different? He’s taller. He has a Southern accent. He’s more traditionally handsome. That being said, I think Renner is the better actor.

So… who would you choose if it came down to going home with Renner or going home with Josh? Yes, Josh is married, but in these little “What if…?” games, we can pretend that he’s not. I actually think that if you were looking for a relationship, you should choose Josh. He seems like the commitment type. If you were just looking for a filthy, enjoyable hookup, go with Jeremy. So… I would choose both. A little from Column A, a little from column B. Jeremy for the hookup, Josh to marry/make babies with.

Anyway, yeah… these are photos from the NYC premiere of Mission: Impossible 4 last night. I could eat Jeremy with a spoon, and Josh looks sexy and dashing as always (although I‘m not loving the salt-and-pepper beard or the length of his hair). I’m also throwing in a photo of Paula Patton in her Emilio Pucci dress, which I really dislike.

PS… Jeremy hasn’t done much to promote MI4, but there is a new interview with him in USA Today – go here to see.

Josh Holloway vs. Joel McHale in hotness showdown on Community finale

joshvsjoel
Here’s some good news about my favorite sitcom, Community. I should say it’s mixed news because it reminds us that this incredibly funny, highly watchable show is about to close out its second season. It’s going to do so with even more man candy, though, so I guess I can live with that. Lost’s Josh Holloway (who is featured in this week’s Hot Guy Friday) is going to guest on the two part season finale as some kind of hunky competition to the snarky boyish hotness that is Joel McHale’s Jeffery Winger. It looks like this won’t be airing until mid May, though, so we have around five more episodes to look forward to.

nippleplay
Potential mild spoilers in quoted text below
I didn’t watch last night’s episode of Community yet, so I would say no spoilers in the comments yet, but it still won’t spoil it given how much they put in that show. That episode is on the DVR waiting for me like a box of truffles after dinner. One of my favorite parts of last week’s episode was when Abed and Troy explained that they’d had to stop hanging out with Jeff after Britta told them Jeff liked nipple play – then Troy mimed like he was stroking an imaginary Jeff’s nipples. They’re so great at riffing off same sex relationships in that show (remember when Annie tried to kiss Britta?), and given all these funny comments by the stars I think we can assume that Josh and Joel will have a little homoeroticism going.

Joel McHale is used to being the resident hunk on the set of “Community.” Now, a challenger emerges from off the island.

Josh Holloway is slated to guest star in the survivor paintball-themed second season finale of the NBC comedy, and series co-star Alison Brie said that the “Lost” alum caused quite the stir on set.

“Josh Holloway from Lost makes an appearance and he and Joel have a “handsome off,” as I like to call it, between the two of them,” Brie told NY Magazine’s Vulture blog. “That was kind of the vibe on the set, as well. Everyone on set — guys and girls alike — were fawning over Josh.”

Brie said that the vibe of a relaxed set changed a bit, in honor of the handsome star. “Everyone was on their best behavior, looking better than ever. Our male producers would talk to Josh for five minutes and then they’d walk over and say, ‘He really is attractive, isn’t he?’ It was so funny. There were a lot of man crushes, absolutely.”

Holloway has had this “problem,” before; he bemoaned his sex symbol status in a 2009 interview with Company Magazine:

“‘[The] whole sex-symbol thing is really strange,” he said, adding that he, “wouldn’t wish it on anybody. I appreciate the opportunity to work, the cash it gives you, and other things it provides are wonderful. But the celebrity thing… I don’t like attention.”

Still, McHale didn’t seem to mind the good looks of his “rival.”

“Josh Holloway is as sexy, as dreamy as you would expect, even more so than he was in ‘Lost’ I think,” he recently told TV Guide. “You really get to see his comedic side. He nails it. He’s so funny. He was such a good guy, great to have around. I would follow him on to any set and then they would handcuff me and escort me out.”

[From Huffington Post, sources are TVGuide and NYMag]

I like that they’re reprising the paintball scenario that was last year’s brilliant finale. This show rarely gets it wrong – excepting that bizarre stop motion animation Christmas special. I didn’t even watch the whole thing. Did anyone even like that? (My mom did so don’t be ashamed.)

malcolmjamalwarner
Oh and I also have to mention how much I like relatively new guest star Malcolm Jamal Warner as Shirley’s ex husband. He’s great in that role, and they even work in the occasional Cosby Show reference for him.

Community has been renewed for a third season, hurray! We have plenty more to look forward to after this season wraps.

Photos are from NBC, where you can watch full episodes of Community for free if you’re in the US.

Josh Holloway shows off his dimples & haircut on the ‘M:I 4′ set

mission_impossible_4_18_wenn3049633

An open letter to Josh Holloway:

Hello, beautiful! You look amazing. I love your haircut! I’m glad you didn’t shave it all off – your hair is so pretty and caramel-blonde, I love it. I love it when you shave too, although you know I’ll take you when you’re all scruffy and split-endy too, like you were on Lost.

I’m so happy that you were cast in Mission: Impossible 4. And you’re already on set! Did you have to audition? Did you have to go in and meet Tom Cruise? Or was he already familiar with your “work”? Did he make you take off your shirt, or did he already have posters made from Lost screen caps? Well, I’m happy that you were cast, whatever you had to do to get the part. You’re joining Jeremy Renner too – enjoy him. He’s going to be working steadily for the next three decades, and he would be a good friend to have on your side. Plus, he seems like a lot of fun. Will you and Jeremy go out drinking together when he gets to the set? Or will you just go home to your refreshingly normal wife and baby every night? Either is fine with me!

By the way, I notice those hot little sexy-smug face you’re making at the camera. Are those just for me? Bless your heart. Will you please give a message to M:I 4 producers? Tell them that I want you shirtless a lot in the film, and I also think your naked ass should make a triumphant appearance on camera. I’m sure Tom has given the producers similar notes.

Goodbye, Sailor.

Josh Holloway’s “son of a bitch” dramatic line readings compiled!

wenn2519484

The genius girls of Jezebel put up this amazing post. It’s a compilation of Josh Holloway (Sawyer/James Ford/LaFleur) on Lost saying his signature catchphrase, “Son of a bitch.” It’s pretty awesome, and I never realized just how much Sawyer says that sh-t. And he does it differently every single time! That’s how you know he’s a great actor. Because only great actors can take a single line reading of “Son of a bitch!” and really make it fresh, and make you feel different emotions every time. Like, sometimes when Josh says it, I get hot. Sometimes when he says it, I get really turned on. And then there are other times when he whispers “son of a bitch” where I just feel sad. And turned on.

Anyway, I can’t embed the compilation from Jezebel, but thankfully great minds think alike and all and there are some great “Son of a bitch” compilations on YouTube. Like this one:

I’ve been a Lost fanatic since it started, and throughout the seasons, I’ve gone back and forth as to my favorite actor on the show, trying to choose between Josh and Naveen Andrews’ Sayid. But for this last season of Lost, Sawyer has been my hands-down favorite, and I love how much screen time he’s getting. Don’t get me wrong, Sayid has had some “Oh, Jesus, he’s so hardcore, I love him” moments (like when he -SPOILER – killed that dude in The Swimming Pool of Truth and Regeneration). Or when he killed that other dude in the flash-sideways – you know, the real hot motherf-cker who came on the boat to kill everybody last season, and in the sideways world he was still a gangster. Yeah… Sayid is still pretty awesome. But nothing beats my son of a bitch.

P.S. Although… Richard Alpert’s episode last week was pretty good, wasn’t it? But for some reason, I always thought Richard was older than 140 or so. Questions for my fellow Lost fanatics: is Desmond going to come back, ever? Is Charlie? Is Ana Lucia? I need Ana Lucia to come back, NOW. I kept expecting her to pop up on Holloway’s flash-sideways episode, because SPOILER – they would both be LAPD.

‘Lost: The Final Season’ is going to be epic
2010 Winter TCA Tour - Day 4

F-ck me, Josh Holloway looks good enough to eat. Those dimples are going to make me go insane. How in the world was this man not a star before Lost? Seriously? Why do we put up with the Taylor Lautners and Josh Duhamels of the world when there’s a guy out there who looks like this? Sigh… I’m in love.

2010 Winter TCA Tour - Day 4

Anyway, I’m putting up these photos (which are more than a week old, my apologies) of Josh and Evangeline Lilly, Emilie de Ravin and Daniel Dae Kim because Lost: The Final Season premieres in, like, days! Like, if you wanted to count down by hour, you seriously could. I’m so thrilled about this, I don’t even mind that it’s scheduled for the same time slot as NCIS! Mark Harmon is great and all, but I cannot deny the Josh Holloway and Naveen Andrews magical island hotness. Lost’s premiere is one of the most anticipated events of the year decade century! Or whatever.

2010 Winter TCA Tour - Day 4

Considering how highly anticipated this event, this must-see-tv, this history being written, it’s kind of strange that we literally know nothing about what is going to happen on the premiere episode, or the season as a whole. I’ve read some half-assed spoilers here and there, stuff about this character being killed off or that one blah blah, but nothing is ever verified, and one of the reasons Losties love the series is because no character is too precious to avoid death, destruction or heartbreak. They’ve killed off fan-favorites before (R.I.P. Charlie) – and God knows, the original construct of the first episode was for Matthew Fox to die! Still, I hope it’s not Naveen Andrews or Josh Holloway. I would be heartbroken. Anyway, the in-house Lostie at Entertainment Weekly has written a massive, mega-opus describing various theories for how the final season could play out. I read about four pages and then I had to stop myself because I was going to geek out too hard and bust something. Here you go – enjoy!

ewlost

In addition to the theories, EW also put Lost’s Final Season on their cover this week, and they scored an interview with the two co-creators of Lost, and EW put up an excerpt:

With Lost’s last season premiere just days away (Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 9 p.m. on ABC, to be precise), EW’s own Jeff “Doc” Jensen has been going a little crazy with anticipation. Fortunately he’s channeled all that energy into something productive: Theorizing!

Not only does he have his own thoughts about how it’s all going to end, this week Doc Jensen also went straight to the source — Lost’s exec producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse — to get some key intel on what fans can expect in the sixth and final season.

Given that there are so many lingering questions to be answered in just 16 episodes, Cuse and Lindelof say the plan is to do what they’ve always done: tell their story their way.

“We’re writing the show for ourselves,” says Cuse. “It would be a terrible mistake to change the methodology that has sustained the show for this long.” Lindelof refers to Lost’s most despised duo to drive home the point: “Find the person who hates Nikki and Paulo the most, and I guarantee you that Carlton and I are still flagellating ourselves for that idea. The fact that we are 10 times harder on ourselves than anybody else makes us feel like the show is in the right hands.”

That said, Lindelof is still feeling butterflies about the impending premiere: “I wish it was already here. The audience may hate it. The audience may not hate it. But at least they will finally see it, and when they do, it will be a relief.”

The duo also offered teasers about Lost’s most pressing questions — Is John Locke really dead? Who are Jacob and the Man in Black? Will Kate choose Jack or Sawyer? — though they’re coy when asked if fans will ever learn what the Island really is.

As for Lost’s central hero and resident “fixer,” Jack Shephard, the question of whether he’ll achieve the redemption he so desperately seeks will be a core theme for season six.

Explains Cuse, “This notion of predeterminism is something we’re very actively exploring this season. Is redemption possible? Is redemption possible for all of them? Is redemption possible for some of them? What does redemption look like?”

[From EW]

You know who no one is mentioning anymore? Desmond. I actually adored the Desmond character, and I loved his love story. It would such a shame if he wasn’t around at all in the final season. My greatest fear is that the last episodes are going to be dominated by Jack and Kate’s bullsh-t. They’re generally considered the two “leads” of the ensemble, and they are the weakest links, in my opinion. Oh, and Jack and Kate belong together. Two self-absorbed, asinine, belligerent a-holes belong together. Leave Sawyer either with Juliet… or mourning her.

Anyway, who’s with me? I’m initiating the countdown now!

Josh Holloway melts hearts as he discusses his baby girl

32372pcn_Holloway

As many of you know, Lost’s Josh Holloway rocks my world. He’s a Southern boy, he’s smoking’ hot, he’s soulful, and he’s totally, completely, crazy in love with his wife and baby daughter. I usually don’t go for the scruffy facial hair and all of that, but Josh makes it work. I think it’s because you can still see his gorgeous dimples even through all that scruff. I love his body too – he’s toned and athletic, but he doesn’t seem conceited or to try too hard with any of it. His nonchalance makes him cool. That, and he looks like he could rip up a bedroom. Anyhoodle, Josh and his wife Yessica have been married for five years, and just welcomed their first child this April - a little girl they named Java. It seems like fatherhood has turned Josh into an even hotter man – just see what he says about his new daddy duties:

Josh Holloway portrays Sawyer in the ABC hit Lost, but the role the actor cherishes most is the one he doesn’t play on TV — being a father to baby daughter Java.

“It’s just really that richness to my life,” Josh Holloway told OK! at Comic-Con while promoting Lost. “It’s so rich and so difficult [laughs]. And I don’t really care how everything else goes now as long as I’m a good father.”

Three-month-old Java, his first child with his wife, Yessica Kumala, has already brought the happily married twosome — of almost five years — closer together as a couple.

“It’s a journey as everyone knows,” he goes on. “But we are solid.”

Even though the 40-year-old is known for his heartthrob status and can captivate any female with his smile, there is only one girl who can truly break his heart.

“Every morning when I first get to see that little mean smile, I’m like, ‘Oh my God!’ It makes my heart explode.”

Josh and his girls will return to Hawaii — where the family of three has a home — in August to shoot the last and final season, which will air in early 2010.

[From OK! Magazine]

Josh’s heart may be exploding, but I need some alone time with a picture of those dimples. Jesus, I always forget that there are men like that. Hot, sexy, and totally in love with their wives and kids. Sigh. My heart melts for Josh. I can’t believe I have to wait until January to see what the hell happens on Lost. All of this is just cruel at this point.

Here’s Josh Holloway and Yessica taking their daughter Java to Toys R’ Us in Los Angeles on July 9th. Images thanks to Pacific Coast News.
