Joshua Jackson gets animated in Vancouver: would you hit it?

Since it’s slow today (SOPA? PIPA?), I thought I’d cover these new photos of Joshua Jackson filming Fringe in Vancouver yesterday. No particular reason, except that he looks cute and we don’t feature him as often as we should. For the record, Fringe is still on the air, and for the record, Joshua is still with Diane Kruger as far as I know. Diane was just in LA for the Critics Choice Awards, but I believe she and Joshua are quietly loved up in Vancouver most of the time while he films that series. They’re a very international couple, and for whatever reason, they totally work.

I know this gets brought up a lot, but who would have ever thought that the Dawson’s Creek kids would grow up in such varied ways? Joshua was always cute, and he seems to have a sense of humor and a good work ethic, so he’s always able to find work. But then you think about Katie Holmes – married to Tom Cruise? And Michelle Williams, on her way to her third Oscar nomination? So weird that they all started at The Creek.

So, here’s the question: Could Joshua still get it? Is he still adorable to you because he’s forever Pacey? Or are you attracted to the man Joshua has become – a loving boyfriend to an international beauty and a humble, low-key television star? My answer: Joshua could get it. I loved Pacey, and Pacey could have gotten it too, but I like the man Joshua has become. And these photos are just too cute.

Diane Kruger in a Vionnet ink-stained doily: cute or fug?

fp_7531458_ang_jaeger_14_28

We should celebrate Diane Kruger today. I think this is longest she’s ever gone without exposing her biscuits on a red carpet. I feel like it’s been months and months since I’ve looked at photos of Kruger in some minidress where her German biscuits are being “aired out” – congrats, Diane! These are photos of Diane and her adorable lover Joshua Jackson at last night’s Paris event for Jaeger-Lecoultre Reverso (which was the same event Clive Owen attended, and where he wrote to us). Diane is the “face” of the watch, so it’s obvious that she needed to be there. Her dress is Vionnet Fall 2011 – on the runway, the top part was unlined and lace. I might have preferred that runway look to this little-old-lady mess. It looks like an ink-soaked doily.

By the way, I do read the comments (most of the time), so I know that there’s a growing movement to re-introduce hosiery to red carpet situations. I agree that not everyone should wander around, bare legged, at all times. But I associate the need for hosiery with weather – when it’s cold, I expect to see ladies wearing tights or panty hose, but in the summer, I’m fine with everyone being bare-legged. Can we agree – pro and anti-hosiery people alike – that Diane Kruger is doing hosiery the wrong way? Black hose with this little old lady dress simply increases the “dowdy” factor, plus it’s almost July. Her German biscuits might be sweaty. And no matter who you are or what season it is, I always consider it a fashion catastrophe to wear hose with open-toed shoes or sandals. That’s just wrong.

closeup

Joshua looks really nice, though. He seems kind of “over” escorting his lady everywhere, but he still shows up for her, which is nice.

Tallulah Willis, 17, smokes a cig, and other Coachella photos

vanessa1
Everybody and their brother was at Coachella over the weekend, or to quote Michael K from DListed “celebrities from all lists.” We’ve already seen Alex Skarsgard putting up with Kate Bosworth and Dita Von Teese and her French boyfriend looking like they were born Photoshopped and perfectly accessorized. There were plenty more people at the music festival trying to work their casual looks and score some swag.

First off is Vanessa Hudgens barefoot in a ridiculous crochet crop top and cutoffs hunting for a new man. I don’t know who looks more ridiculous, Vanessa or her buddy with the fringe purse and purple fringe boots. That’s the kind of friend who helps enable a look like this.
vanessa2

Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger were coupled up as they always are. Her pink striped dress needs to be about 3 inches longer. I hope she’s wearing some full coverage panties.

Ashley Greene tried to work a fedora while standing next to a guy who looks enough like Joe Jonas to get people talking.

Isabel Lucas was a hot hippie mess as usual.

Cory Monteith thinks he’s a rock star. I’m just counting down the days until Glee gets canceled and these kids fade into obscurity. He’s relatively harmless though and it’s nice that he’s posing with fans.

Whitney Port is trying to bring back the tied on the side T-shirt. Was that ever in style apart from a few months in the late 80s? Sloppy.

Malin Ackerman. I barely know who she is but this photo cracks me the hell up. Anyone who can look this smug while wearing an outfit that terrible must have some acting ability. Check out her boyfriend. (Update: that’s her husband of 5 years, Roberto Zincone. Thanks Fabianne!)

Kelly Osbourne looks surprisingly well put together and covered up until you scroll down and see her bowling shoes.

Paris Hilton still looks pregnant. Compared to everyone else she’s dressed pretty well. On any other occasion this dress would be a fail though.

Dita Von Teese looking nautically fresh in an outfit we haven’t yet seen. She wipes the floor with everyone else and she knows it. She also has the perfect accessory in that French aristocrat. Bitch even picked a drink that color coordinated with her outfit.

Tallulah Willis turned 17 in February and here she is in a bikini top, smoking a cigarette and showing off a tattoo on her hip. I would say that this could be a case of mistaken identity, but the Willis genes are strong with this one.

Diane Kruger on why she doesn’t believe in marriage

glamourdianekruger
Diane Kruger, 34, is the cover girl for Glamour in a ridiculously unattractive tie die shirt and distressed denim jacket. They’re probably just trying to push an image that’s different from Kruger’s normal fashion-forward skinny glamor, but she just looks awkward to me in that pose especially. She’s styled to look like Grease’s Sandy in the other photos, and some of them are ok, but overall I’m not feeling the photoshoot.

Inside, Kruger talks about how she doesn’t really believe in marriage, which is surprising to me because she seems so solid with Joshua Jackson. As The Huffington Post points out, she was married young to French actor/director Guillaume Canet, and that marriage ended after seven years. Canet is now expecting a baby with Marion Cotillard.

Diane Kruger is featured in the upcoming issue of Glamour, and her views on marriage are what’s making the headlines.

Kruger, 34, is dating TV star Joshua Jackson, but her past experiences have taught her that tying the knot — again — isn’t in her future.

I was married very young [to French actor and director Guillaume Canet]. We were together seven years. Without sounding pessimistic, I learned that I don’t believe in marriage. I believe in a commitment that you make in your heart. There’s no paper that will make you stay. A guy friend of mine said, and it made a lot of sense, that people should get married at the end of the road, not the beginning.

In some ways, that may go back even further than her experiences with Canet. Kruger divulges that her father was an alcoholic, and she, her mother and her brother moved out of their home when she was 13 years old.

“I also made a lot of boys pay for my father’s behavior,” she admitted.

As for her future with Jackson? She may not want a ring, but she does want kids — one day. And her ex, Canet? He’s got a child on the way already, with actress Marion Cotillard.

[From Huffington Post]

If that’s what works for her in her relationship, good for her. A lot of women decide to give up on marriage after they’ve had a bad experience (or three) with it, just look at Halle Berry. I wonder if her “male friend” who told her that people should get married at the “end” not the beginning, was Joshua Jackson. Like if he was gung-ho on marriage would she change her mind? Also, does that make any sense to you? I get the general sentiment, but at the end of a relationship there’s no point getting married because it’s almost over anyway.

Diane Kruger doesn’t wear deodorant, probably has B.O.

Sept. 10, 2010 - New York, New York, U.S. - Actress DIANE KRUGER attends the 6th Annual Fashion Award Benefit Luncheon honoring designer Karl Lagerfeld held at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center. © Red Carpet Pictures

Diane Kruger is a beautiful actress. She even played the-face-that-launched-a-thousand-ships Helen in the ill-fated Brad Pitt/Orlando Bloom vehicle Troy. She’s dating Joshua Jackson from Dawson’s Creek and seems to have a charmed life.

However, as Us Weekly has taught us, stars can be just like us. Diane’s human flaw is that she may stink.

Diane, the face of Calvin Klein’s new fragrance Beauty, considers herself a perfume junkie because she’s allergic to deodorant.

“I wear it [perfume] every day. In the morning, the bottle is right there next to my toothbrush. I’m allergic to deodorant, so I even spritz it on my underarms. That’s probably a little too much information….[At the gym] then I spritz extra. But, yes, I probably smell bad after a workout….I like to share my imperfections and vulnerabilities. This impossible pursuit of youth and perfection is not for me.”

[In Style, print edition, December 2010]

I would guess the pursuit of perfection is a heck of a lot easier when you have professional stylists and are friends with Karl Lagerfeld, even if you do smell like B.O.

If she wasn’t shilling Calvin Klein, she’d bottle Eau de Essence of Pacey: “The smell of my man [actor Joshua Jackson]. That ‘waking up in the morning with the person you love’ smell — it’s the sexiest scent in the world.” I’d probably wear Eau de Pacey too.

I also have really sensitive skin, and I can’t wear anything with perfumes or dyes. Fortunately, Secret makes a great hypoallergenic product so I don’t have to drown myself in cologne. Just the thought of spritzing perfume on my freshly-shaven underarms makes me cringe — that must sting! And that’s probably a little too much information from me.

Joshua Jackson’s life lesson in Nuvo Mag: “You can’t be late for Germans”

jj4

I have to admit, I’ve been thinking about Joshua Jackson all week, and I have no idea why. He’s not one of my usual fantasy guys, and I don’t think I’ve even seen him in anything recently, and it’s not like he was even at the Emmys for Fringe or anything. Not that I watch Fringe. I really don’t. I don’t want to have my heart broken by another sci-fi TV series, like Lost or The X-Files, both of which I was addicted to at various times. So why the Joshua love? Some weird quirk of my mind, I guess. But I’m glad for it – because this boy is adorable, and he’s actually kind of interesting. He’s the cover boy for the Fall issue of Nuvo Magazine (it’s a Canadian thing), and some interview excerpts were just released:

Joshua Jackson is in the mood to muse. He’s got a lot on his mind—the deep meaning-of-life sort of stuff that sci-fi geeks typically ponder at 2 a.m., after smoking too much weed. Except it’s early on a summer evening, and we’re sipping sparkling water in the penthouse garden of the Soho House on West Hollywood’s Sunset Strip, when the phone rings and Jackson suddenly notices the time

His live-in girlfriend of four years, German movie star Diane Kruger, is on the phone, and he’s due at a screening of her latest film, Inhale. “Hi, love, can I have 15 more minutes?” he asks.

It’s clear the answer is no. “Such is life,” he tells me. “You can’t be late for Germans. Doesn’t work.”

Relationships come first now for Jackson, star of the hit TV science-fiction series Fringe, who is also well known for playing wisecracking teen Pacey on Dawson’s Creek. “That was a falling-down point for me with women in the past,” says the actor, sporting a scruffy beard, jeans, and checkered shirt. “My work is so hit-and-miss, you get caught up in this idea, when it’s here, everything else goes to second best. With Diane, I’ve made sure she stays in the premier position. And all of a sudden I’ve realized, oh look, I can have a life and do my job. This is really nice.”

JJ on environmental disasters, like the BP oil spill: “Pick your myth—we’re either Pandora or Prometheus or, frankly maybe Icarus. We are in a tipping-point era, and we have to either catch up to our abilities, culturally, or some massive global catastrophe will befall us. The planet will live on, but we’re going to make it more difficult for us to survive.”

On awards shows: “You have to be there for hours, oh my sweet Jesus. If it looks glamorous on TV, it’s almost always boring because it’s good for the cameras and not good to be at. Just think about the Academy Awards as a four-hour variety show with f-cking commercial breaks. It is impossible. (But) to go to an awards show where you’re nominated and then actually win something is a totally different experience. All of a sudden it’s the coolest thing in the world.”

[From Nuvo Magazine (additional excerpts courtesy of LaineyGossip)]

“You can’t be late for Germans” is my new favorite quote. I want a tattoo of it. Joshua should get one too. Does it play into German stereotypes of efficiency? Sure. But have you ever known a German who wasn’t on time? Right. As far as the stuff about environmental disasters, etc – I like that he thinks about this stuff, and he sounds intelligent. Smart enough to walk the razor’s edge of being preachy and walk away unscathed. Well done.

Diane Kruger wants to have Joshua Jackson’s babies & raise them in Paris

wenn5488126

Generally speaking, Diane Kruger is pretty boring. She’s made a few good movies, and many not-so-great movies. She’s not really a world-class actress, but she’s serviceable and pretty, and she seems reasonably down-to-earth. The only times I’ve ever been excited by Diane were: 1) when she was rumored to be maybe-boning Brad Pitt when they worked on Inglourious Basterds, 2) when she wears something totally gorgeous or totally funky on the red carpet, as she is one of the “fashion girls” and 3) when she’s gushing about her boyfriend of many years, Joshua Jackson. Joshua and Diane aren’t really a big A-list couple, but they are solid B-list, maybe even B+. And I’ve always wondered about them – do they get really hot for each other? What’s their home life like? Does her accent ever piss him off? Well, as it turns out, Diane has no problem talking about Josh and their future plans (hint: babies!). She was interviewed in The Daily Mail over the weekend, and her quotes are very interesting (full Mail piece here):

[In] a celebrity-obsessed world that loves two for the price of one, it cannot be denied that her relationship with Joshua Jackson has done much to raise her profile. We meet at the beginning of Josh’s annual three-month break from Fringe – which is filmed in Vancouver – and the couple are about to take off on a ‘European tour’ that is clearly preoccupying Diane. The couple, who met in 2006, rarely have the opportunity to spend much time together. They live, she says, like ‘gypsies’ between a rented flat in Vancouver, her home in Paris and an apartment in LA.

‘He is in Vancouver nine months of the year, and then I am away making movies, so there are long periods when we don’t see each other and it’s hard. I am taking time off work because we promised each other this period together.’

‘[The paparazzi] do take pictures of us when we are in New York or LA, but it doesn’t bother us because we don’t have super-interesting lives for them. We don’t go out a lot and I certainly don’t go to clubs without any underwear on. We love the outdoors, we love cycling and hiking and we are both very green – not pursuits that the paparazzi tend to be interested in.’

Paris remains her favourite city and the place she thinks of as ‘home’ (she has an apartment close to her mentor Karl Lagerfeld). Indeed, for all her transatlantic gloss, she still considers herself to be European.

‘I see myself raising my children in Europe, probably in Paris. Josh loves Paris and he is cool with that, but we will see what happens when we get there – or if we get there.’

However close they are, there will not, she says, be a wedding. Diane’s marriage in 2001 – to actor/director Guillaume Canet, which ended in 2006 (he is now with Marion Cotillard) – has left her disillusioned about what she believes is ‘just a piece of paper’.

‘Because I was married I know that, no matter what paper you sign, if you want out, you get out. But that doesn’t mean I don’t believe in commitment. I think commitment is very important, particularly for me. I am a better person when I let myself have the time for romance and for love. I think for too many years I actually let that slide,’ she says, a little pensively.

She’s highly domestic (she regards ironing as therapy), loves to cook and has a vast library of cookbooks, counting Jamie Oliver as one of her favourite chefs.

‘Two weeks ago I did an eight-hour lamb. We were in LA and we had friends over on a Sunday and the lamb was in the oven and we could smell it all day – it was great. I love food.’

Diane doesn’t exactly look as if she loves food – with her slender 5ft 7in frame elongated by those shoes, she appears pretty close to a size zero, but vehemently denies it. ‘I am not size zero – I wish! I am a 2 [British size 6] or sometimes a 4 [8] – it depends. If I spend too long in Germany and eat too many cakes and schnitzel my weight goes up. But I don’t obsess about it any more. I just know I’ve got to watch it when my pants feel too tight.’

[From The Daily Mail]

Aw… she sounds nice. Surprisingly normal. She also talks about her obsession with gigantic heels, and how Josh always ends up half-carrying her through events because she can’t walk. I’d venture a guess in saying that Josh and Diane are for real, and they’re totally in love. Of course, I thought that about Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel, and now everyone is yelling at me, saying that he’s a big cheater. So maybe I’m bad at reading relationships today. Whatever.

Brad Pitt and Diane Kruger fake flirtation story hits the German press

A few months ago, I made an error of judgment and posted a speculative article about whether Colin Farrell was Minnie Driver’s secret baby daddy. The story was based on a paparazzi video of a protective Colin yelling at photographers taking pictures of his son while he was on the beach with heavily pregnant Minnie. It turned out that Colin was also at the beach with his girlfriend that day, an author named Emma Forrest who just happens to be one of Minnie’s best friends. I issued a retraction a few hours after the story was published, but the damage was done – it got picked up by news outlets and became a rumor. A new writer on the site even submitted the story based on other gossip sources reporting it. (It’s also of course possible that other outlets jumped to the same conclusion that I did based on that video, but I felt somewhat responsible.)

This kind of thing happens with the news constantly in this era of quick typing and publishing. In my case I like to justify that it was an honest mistake and was at least based on some slim amount of evidence. Maybe Star Magazine’s writers and editors tell themselves the same thing when they run salacious cover stories every week, like the one about Angelina being jealous of Brad Pitt’s supposed on-set flirtation with lovely German actress Diane Kruger, 32.

My husband has been reading in the German press that Pitt is rumored to be angering Jolie by getting unduly close to Kruger on the set of Inglourious Basterds, which is currently filming in Germany. The story originated in Star Magazine, though, and like a lot of the crap in that rag it seems like complete BS to me. Kruger has a longterm boyfriend, actor Joshua Jackson, with whom she seems very much in love. She has worked with Pitt before though, on the epic Troy, and to Star that means they’re familiar with each other and barely resisting their urge to jump into bed together. This would be good gossip – if it were true:

What goes around comes around! Hot on the heels of Angelina Jolie’s stunning admission that she fell in love with Brad Pitt on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston, Star has learned that Angie is burning up with jealousy over Brad’s pretty new co-star. And Brad hasn’t exactly been acting like a father of six in a committed relationship while whooping it up in Berlin!

Angie, 33, is living, sources say, over Brad’s recent freewheeling behavior with the happily single costars and director of his latest movie, Inglorourious Basterds. But what’s really sending Angie over the edge is the blatant flirtation between him and his gorgeous leading lady, German actress Diane Kruger.

“Angie loves Brad and wants to trust him, but she also knows that their own love blossomed while working on a movie together,” and insider tells Star. “Now she’s convinced that Diane has a crush on Brad, and she’s scared something could happen.” And even though Diana and boyfriend Joshua Jackson are trying to make a long-distance relationship work, Joshua recently confessed to Star, “I don’t know that we’re getting married.”

Angelina’s instincts first kicked into high gear in September when Brad and divorcée Diane both attended an intimate cast dinner without her in Berlin. “They went through several bottles of wine,” Mimmo Bianco, manager of Italian restaurant Al Contadino Sotto le Stelle tells Star. “It was obvious he was having a great time.”

And that’s exactly what makes Angelina so nervous. Brad shared a connection with beautiful blonde Diane when she played Helen in his 2004 epic, Troy. “I have lots of scenes with him,” Diane gushed to a German newspaper about working together again. “Troy was my first international film, and I was still married back then. I’m excited to work with Brad.”

Diane made sure Brad knew just how excited she was during their night out, says a source. “She kept putting her arm around Brad’s neck to whisper something in his ear because it was so loud. He was clearly charmed by her, and Diane definitely looks smitten. She’s thrilled to be around him again.”

[From Star Magazine, print edition, November 11, 2008 - online version is slightly different]

There’s not much more in that article to support any relationship between Pitt and Kruger and I would bet that the part about her whispering to him is either made up or based on her having to yell something in his ear when the party got too loud. That was a cast party where everyone got to know each other and is hardly enough to base a supposed flirtation on. That seems to be enough for Star, though. Unfortunately this story is now all over the German press and a lot of people are believing it.

Some of you have accurately pointed out that we run these salacious stories without questioning them when they’re about Jennifer Aniston, but not when they’re about Brad and Angelina. This is true, but we have different authors here with different opinions about the celebrities, and we all have different styles. There are going to be stories we don’t all agree on, and that’s is both a fun and frustrating aspect of having a blog with many writers. We’re sure you’ll let us know when you think we’re not being fair, and we’ll do our best to take it into account.

Here are photos of Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson looking very much in love. They’re all from earlier this year.

Fox’s ‘Fringe’ vs. ‘Bones’ (mild Bones spoilers at bottom)

The new Fox series Fringe got a lot of buzz as the second coming of The X-Files, and is getting pretty good ratings so far.

It helps that Fringe has the primo timeslot Tuesdays after smash-hit House. TV Guide reports that Fringe retained 90 percent of House’s 14.8 million viewers.

Fringe’s success is coming at the expense of Bones, according to Bones star David Boreanaz. The crime drama stars Emily Deschanel as Dr. Temperance Brennan and Boreanaz as Agent Seeley Booth, and used to have that coveted Tuesday timeslot. Bones now airs at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays, followed by the limp comedy ‘Til Death.

Bones won its timeslot for its 2-hour premiere on September 3, averaging 9.7 million viewers. It was the highest-rated season premiere for the show.

Despite the strong ratings, Bones’ Boreanaz, formerly the vampire-with-a-soul on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel, is not happy about the switch.

National Enquirer reports David is so unhappy he’s jeopardizing his job, but he doesn’t care. “David is mad as hell,” said a network insider. “He feels betrayed and is telling everyone about it.”

Bones has had steady ratings since its debut in 2005, but Fringe comes from proven hit-maker J.J. Abrams, creator of Alias, Lost and Felicity.

Fringe follows a misfit team as they examine paranormal phenomena, like The X-Files but without the aliens or David Duchovny.

Mocking FOX’s decision to move his show to Wednesday night for the untested newcomer, Boreanaz said bitterly: “Let’s pimp Fringe, which makes no sense, about some disease that’s taken over an airplane!”

Then, he added sarcastically: “Cause that’s unique!”

David realizes his harsh words could come back to haunt him.

“They should’ve just kept us with House, the outspoken actor declared. “That was a great combination.”

[From National Enquirer, print edition, September 29, 2008]

Enquirer got these quotes from an interview Boreanaz gave to Entertainment Weekly, adding the adverbs “bitterly” and “sarcastically.” David continued to say, “Now, we’re the lead-in to ‘Til Death. God, what a mess. But they have to spread us out because they have to develop new shows, I get it.”

————–Bones Spoilers————–

Boreanaz says he wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not brought back for next season. Hopefully, Booth will at least get to finally sleep with Bones before he’s killed off.

Plans may even be in the works to ease in David’s replacement.

Brendan Fehr, recently of Samurai Girl, has been cast as Booth’s younger brother Jared on the November 19 episode. TV Guide reports Jared “gets on Booth’s nerves but hits it off with Brennan.”

Unfortunately, neither show is all that good. Fringe has no spark like The X-Files or Lost, and Bones jumped the shark with last season’s finale making Zack a psycho, and jumped it again with the lame season premiere with Bones and Booth in Britain.

‘Dawsons’ reunion: Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson meet up for coffee in NYC

Katie Holmes is still rehearsing for her Broadway debut in New York City, while husband Tom Cruise is working in L.A. Katie has been photographed walking the NY streets (in pegged jeans!) looking rather lonely for weeks. So it was no surprise that when ex-boyfriend, “Dawson’s Creek” co-star Joshua Jackson showed up for a visit, she was very glad to see him. Of course, the tabloids are making it look like there was some romance going on. Joey + Pacey 4Ever!

After her rehearsal for her new Broadway play All My Sons, Katie Holmes was delighted to receive a visit from a handsome and familiar man – her ex-boyfriend Joshua Jackson. “Josh arrived at the theater with flowers,” says a friend. “Katie was so happy to see him. They had coffee together at the back of the theater.”

Josh, 30, who called Katie several times before their August 27 reunion, is living in New York with his girlfriend, actress Diane Kruger, 32. Yet he clearly still has a soft spot for Katie, 29. When asked if he plans on seeing her in her Broadway debut, Josh tells In Touch: “Of course, of course!”

Though their romance ended years ago, Katie, who once called Josh her “first true love,” still has warm feelings for him, too. “We did date,” she has said. “We fell in love. And I love him now, and we have a friendship.”

However, Josh and Katie’s friendship has faded in recent years. When Katie started dating her husband in 2005, she “gradually stopped returning his phone calls,” the pal shares. And Josh wasn’t invited to her wedding. “The invitation must have been lost in the mail,” he joked at the time.

But Katie always treasured her first love. “She has missed Josh so much as a friend,” says a pal. “He’s such a sweet guy. She hugged him several times.”

Ooh! They had coffee together! They hugged! Several times! They MUST be doing it. I love how melodramatic In Touch is with this story of two old friends, in the same city, meeting to catch up and wish each other well. It’s as if Katie isn’t capable of being around a man unless she’s in love with him.

The article goes on to say that Katie is keeping the meeting a secret from her husband Tom Cruise. As if Tom doesn’t have ScientoloSpies documenting her every move.

But as harmless as their renewed friendship is, her confidant says that Katie has hesitated about telling her husband about Josh, who she made plans to meet up with again during her stay in New York.

“She doesn’t see why she should tell Tom at this point,” explains the friend. “She’s keeping it under wraps because she would be heartbroken if Tom tried to stop her from seeing Josh.”

Oh, the drama! Poor, tortured Katie! It’s like “Dawson’s Creek” all over again. In Touch is really laying on thick in this article- there’s even a sidebar with a comparison of Joshua and Tom, with a handful of silly reasons why Katie might be more interested in Josh- he’s taller! The romance between Katie and Josh couldn’t have been that big a deal, because I never heard anything about it. I always thought Katie’s first serious boyfriend was actor Chris Klein. And even if he was her “first true love,” that doesn’t mean they can’t have coffee together without it meaning anything more than that. Katie has been looking rather lonely in New York. Even with Suri there to keep her company, there’s something to be said for hanging around with other grown-ups. It’s nice that Josh reached out to her to show her some support.

Katie Holmes is shown on 8/24/08 and 8/30/08. Joshua Jackson and his lovely girlfriend Diane Kruger are shown on 5/22/08 at Cannes. Older photo of Holmes and Jackson below via Laney Gossip. Other pictures credit: Fame.
