Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong denied table at exclusive restaurant

It seems like a lot of these celebrity-target clubs and restaurants turn away famous people just to get press. That may be the case with this latest story of Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong not being able to get a seat at a restaurant, or it might just be the type of place that has a strict reservation system. Lance brought Kate to an upper East side restaurant notorious for its exclusivity, and they were turned away:

BICYCLING champ Lance Armstrong had some trouble impressing new gal pal Kate Hudsonthe other night. Armstrong - strangely unaware of the reservation system at legendarily restrictive Rao’s, where regulars have their own tables and everyone else must wait months - thought he and Hudson might be able to walk into the East 114th Street eatery and be served. But he was out of luck, a spy reports. The managers apologized, but Armstrong and Hudson left hungry, searching for another restaurant.

[From The NY Post]

Kate and Lance have been traveling a lot together this summer. They were in NY yesterday, but were in Toronto just the day before for a charity bike race. Lance helped raise money for cancer treatment at area hospitals through his 117 k “Ride with Lance” fundraiser. Before that Kate and Lance were holed up for a few days at a cabin owned by Kate’s mom, Goldie Hawn, in Muskoka, northern Ontario. People Magazine notes that it was mosquito season.

US Magazine reports that Kate, Lance, Kate’s son Ryder, 4, her ex Chris Robinson and Lance’s kids Luke, 8, and twin daughters Isabelle and Grace, 6, all went out to brunch yesterday in Brooklyn for Father’s Day.

Thanks to Splash News for these pictures of Kate and Lance yesterday. They were headed to an Iron Maiden concert at Madison Square Garden.

Kate Hudson took Ryder to Lance’s hometown; doesn’t discuss new relationship

This week’s OK! Magazine has a tidbit which claims that Kate Hudson, who has been dating Lance Armstrong less than a month according to the magazine, is going to visit his hometown of Austin, Texas. They say Kate plans to take her son Ryder, 4 and a half, along with her.

According to US Weekly, Kate has already visited Austin with Ryder. They had dinner with Lance and his three children at his home in the Texas city on May 17. OK! puts the date they “hooked up” as May 15, but you assume it was sooner than that if they introduced their kids to each other on the 17th. This upcoming visit with Ryder to Austin would be their second trip there within a month. It sounds like Kate and Lance are spending a lot of time together and that things got serious quickly.

Hudson stayed at Armstrong’s New York apartment for several days last week while filming Bride Wars. OK! also claims she’s often on the phone with him during breaks while she’s on set.

Hudson, 29, called into the Ryan Seacrest radio show this morning and gave a very wise response when asked about her relationship with Armstrong, 36. She says that whatever she says about their relationship will be twisted around so she won’t discuss it. And she states that her main priority is always her son:

Opening up about a relationship “only causes more problems and more words taken out of context,” Hudson, 29, told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show Monday. “Everything is always misconstrued.”

Not that discussing other males wasn’t all right with Hudson, whose Seacrest appearance was to help promote pal (and celebrity hairstylist) David Babaii’s WildAid hair products.

“My main priority in my life is my son,” said Hudson, referring to her 4-year-old, Ryder.

Yet as far as anything remotely revolving around the cycling champ, Hudson said only, “It’s better to let … people speculate as much as they want to speculate.”

[From People.com]

Hudson gets a bad rap for dating after her divorce and she deserves a lot of credit for taking the high road. It must be very hard to be a single mom in the spotlight and she seems to handle herself well. A lot of people commenting here trash her, and I don’t understand the ire for this woman. She’s had a few boyfriends since her marriage ended, but she certainly doesn’t seem like she’s sleeping around, and she is trying to find someone she can have a long term relationship with. You also see her out with her son all the time and you can tell she’s a hands-on mom. Good for her for refusing to talk about Lance and saying she may as well let people talk and ignore it.

Kate Hudson is shown looking annoyed to be photographed at a Stella McCartney spring 2009 fashion presentation at the Jefferson Market Garden in Greenwich Village on 6/3/08. She is seen talking to artist Jeff Koons and his wife, Justine, along with designer Stella McCartney. Thanks to WENN for these photos.

Owen Wilson “pretty upset” over Kate & Lance’s relationship

According to OK Magazine, Owen Wilson isn’t handling his breakup with Kate Hudson very well. The actor tried to commit suicide last summer after the pair broke up for the first time and Wilson saw photos of Hudson kissing Dax Shepard. He went through a lot of treatment and stopped drinking and seemed to be doing really well. Needless to say, their friends and families weren’t so wild about the pair rekindling their romance. When it fizzled out again a few weeks ago, everyone seemed optimistic that the pair could handle it well.

However Hudson immediately started dating Lance Armstrong, who was one of Wilson’s good friends. Owen has recently been spotted drinking heavily in several clubs, causing those close to him to worry that he’s slipping back into his old habits.

Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong are still going strong with their new romance, but one person who’s not as happy about it is Owen Wilson.

The actor, who went officially off-again with Kate a few weeks ago, isn’t taking his ex’s rebound relationship too well, according to clubgoers who spotted him at club G in Philadelphia.

“Owen looked pretty upset,” an eyewitness tells OK!. “He was drinking and sulking until last call.”

Besides drowning his sorrows in alcohol, the 39-year-old, who attempted suicide in August following his split with Kate, has turned to little brother Luke for support.

“Owen’s been spending time on the phone with Luke,” a Marley & Me set source tells OK!. “There are a lot of people making sure they’re there for him.”

[From OK! Magazine]

Several of their friends have said they assumed Owen would break Kate’s heart, and were genuinely surprised that it was the other way around. It makes you wonder if Kate is dating one of his friends out of spite. Though considering their past, let’s hope that’s not the case. By all accounts Owen has a great family and really close friends. It’s good he’s leaning on them. Hopefully they can get him away from drinking and back on the straight and narrow quickly.

Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong photographed leaving hotel together

After all the stories about their many dates and public makeout sessions at Cannes, Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong have been photographed together. They were seen wearing sunglasses and warm clothing as they left their hotel in Monaco yesterday. D-Listed reports that they’re there for the Formula 1 Grand Prix. They were seen boarding a speed boat with other passengers. Lance put his arm protectively around Kate in the boat, which was open on the sides. They laughed as waves hit the boat and looked like they were having a great time.

OK! Magazine reports that at that Dolce & Gabbana party in which Kate and Lance kissed and danced, Kate was also spotted washing Lance’s shirt in the bathroom.

I wish them well and hope that it works out for them, as I mentioned yesterday. Armstrong doesn’t seem like the best boyfriend material, but he could be smitten with Kate and maybe he’ll stick around. It would be nice not to know everything that’s going on with them, but if they go to high profile parties it’s kind of inevitable that we’ll hear about them. Whether that’s deliberate on their part or not remains to be seen.

Thanks to Splash for these photos from yesterday.

Lanc Armstrong and Kate Hudson’s PDA at Cannes

In case you were on the edge of your couch wondering if Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong’s rumored romance was still going strong, you can rest assured that they made out at a party at Cannes and all is well in their new relationship:

Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong only had eyes for each other at Dolce & Gabbana’s annual party in Cannes Friday.

The pair kissed and danced to old Madonna songs and other ’80s favorites. “They were beaming at each other,” a source tells PEOPLE. “So cute.”

In a VIP room so packed that Petra Nemcova couldn’t get in, Hudson and Armstrong chatted briefly with Cannes juror Natalie Portman, who was holding hands with her folk-rocker beau Devendra Banhart. (Unlike all the other female celebrity guests, Portman wore Chanel because she decided to come to the party at the last minute.)

[From People.com]

Part of me thinks “Oh, please” when I hear about these two making out at a party, but I really like Kate Hudson and I hope this works out for her. Lance Armstrong has a reputation as a cad lately, but maybe they’re both trying to find the right person after their respective divorces. They’ve each have had long term relationships in the past and this could be something that lasts for them. Or it could end badly like each of their other recent flings. It could go either way.

Kate Hudson is shown arriving at the Dolce & Gabbana party at Cannes on Friday night, thanks to Splash News. That could be Lance off camera but it’s hard to tell. Lance Armstrong is shown visiting “Nevada Cancer Institute to raise awareness for the fight against cancer” on 5/14/08, thanks to WENN.

Kate Hudson already dating Lance Armstrong

It seems like dating Lance Armstrong is a rite of passage for Owen Wilson’s ex-girlfriends. Kate Hudson is now dating Owen’s good friend Lance… just like Wilson’s other ex-girlfriend Sheryl Crow. Apparently the pair have been dating for about three weeks – nearly immediately after Hudson and Wilson’s split. She originally met Lance through Owen. Let’s hope these two are such good friends that they don’t mind when one dates the other’s exes.

They both have reputations as heartbreakers. Now glamorous blonde actress Kate Hudson has embarked on a passionate affair with seven-times Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong. The news will be wearily familiar for film star Owen Wilson, Miss Hudson’s ex-boyfriend. He had previously had a three-year romance with singer Sheryl Crow – only to see Armstrong move in after they split and get engaged to the pop star. Armstrong, 36, may have a tough time explaining himself to Wilson – the fellow Texans are, or were, close friends. On Friday, Miss Hudson, the daughter of Goldie Hawn, flew to join new boyfriend Lance at his home in Austin, Texas, for a romantic weekend together.

A source said: “Kate and Lance have been dating for a couple of weeks. She thought it was funny when people were writing recently that she was engaged to Owen because the reality was that they had split again and she was secretly seeing Lance.

“She and Lance are both physical, passionate people – she’s never been happier.” Miss Hudson started dating Armstrong after sparks flew at a private New York dinner party. The source said: “They have known each other for a while and Lance is one of Owen’s good friends. “When Kate was with Owen, she got to know Lance really well but they hooked up again recently at a dinner party thrown by a mutual friend and that’s when the romance began. They have both been keeping it very quiet.”

[From the Daily Mail]

By all accounts Wilson and Hudson’s second split was not a friendly one at all. Supposedly there was a lot of shouting, and they are no longer on speaking terms. That makes you wonder what must be going on between supposed good friends Owen and Lance. If I had a bitter breakup with someone, and then my good friend started dating that person, I’d be pretty damn pissed. You’d think Lance would have a little more class than that… especially the second time around.

Brigitte Nielsen wants to pose for Playboy… again

There was a brief time in my life several years ago when I was floundering emotionally and spiritually and somehow let myself watch a bit of reality television. Okay I really wasn’t floundering at all, but that’s the only excuse I could think of to justify it. And there’s a chance I was a mild fan of The Surreal Life. I often marveled at Brigitte Nielsen. The woman was as bizarre as they come, especially her odd relationship with Flava Flav.

I was pretty impressed that Sylvester Stallone married a woman so much older than him. Imagine my shock when I found out Nielsen was only 41 when she filmed the show. She looked at least 65. But clearly she doesn’t see it – Nielsen has announced that she’d like to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her Playboy cover by posing again.

Sylvester Stallone’s busty ex Brigitte Nielsen wants to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her Playboy magazine cover - by baring all for the men’s magazine again.

The actress/model announced her plans during an appearance on the Billy Bush Radio Show in Los Angeles, admitting she’ll undergo cosmetic surgery to look her best for the big reveal in December. Nielsen explains she’s planning a face lift and a boob lift and reduction.

She says, “I wanna look up and say, `Oh, I like myself. I don’t like my lines… I’m gonna do the boobs; I’m gonna lift them and be a bit more discreet and then I will do Playboy. Twenty years ago, I did the cover of Playboy… I wanna do Playboy December this year. I’m gonna be 45.”

[From Starpulse]

I hope that plastic surgery is going to involve at least 30 rounds of diamond-grade microdermabrasion. Botox would be good for all the wrinkles, but that woman’s face looks like a splotchy leather glove. She is a true testament to what hard living can do to your looks. Brigitte looks like she spent the last twenty years smoking cigarettes in a tanning bed.

Here are some other famous women born in 1963. Imagine their faces, and then look below to understand my point: Vanessa Williams, Kathy Ireland, Elle Macpherson, Natasha Richardson, Phoebe Cates, Tori Amos, Lauren Holly, Nicolette Sheridan… you get the point. They don’t all look like they’re 25, but none of them look 65 either. I’m not sure plastic surgery could even make Brigitte Nielsen look her real age. Something tells me she might want to focus on other endeavors… like sobriety and visiting the dermatologist regularly.

Kate Hudson & Owen Wilson break up

kateowen.jpg

In news that probably makes a lot of people very nervous, Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson have broken up. Again. You’ll remember that Owen attempted suicide after his last breakup with Kate this past summer. The pair rekindled their romance two months ago, much to the worry of their family and friends. Several unnamed “sources” said they didn’t think it was a healthy relationship for either of them to be in. But as time went on and happy pictures came out, it seemed the pair could maybe make a better go of it this time around. Turns out that was not to be.

Despite a flurry of engagement rumors, Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson – Hollywood’s most notorious on-again, off-again couple – have called it quits, less than two months after rekindling their romance in Miami. The end of their erratic courtship (they began dating in September ‘06) comes amid erroneous reports that the pair were engaged, fueled by photos of Hudson wearing a Tiffany & Co. ring (it was a prop!) both on-and-off set of her film Bride Wars, which she’s filming in Boston.

“It was a pretty bad breakup,” says a Wilson pal. “Owen said it was a tough one. He definitely doesn’t want to dwell on it. He wants to put it behind him.” Since the split, Hudson, 29, and Wilson, 39, have each been spotted letting loose. On May 9, Hudson and Bride Wars costar Steve Howey, 30, visited Boston’s Liberty Hotel bar, Alibi. And on May 11, Wilson dropped by N.Y.C.’s Upstairs with two women.

“He was pretty chummy with the ladies … he was certainly doing some sweet talking,” according to an onlooker. “He looked happy to be there hanging with them.” The late-night outing was followed by a visit to Butter the next night, where he chatted up a sexy blonde. Says a Hudson source: “She feels dumb thinking it was so serious.”

[From People]

Us Weekly reports that their relationship was never serious or monogamous, and that Owen was still heavily playing the field.

Another source close to the couple says they’ve always had a “loose and open thing — never serious, and definitely not monogamous.”

On May 4, Hudson partied with pals in a Boston bar. That same week, Wilson was spotted flirting with women with Miami club Quattro, according to the Miami Herald.

The paper reports that more than a few of them were starting to avoid Wilson’s phone calls because he’d become “so skanky.”

[From Us Weekly]

Hearing Owen Wilson say it was a really hard break up makes me nervous for his health. It’s good he’s being honest – hopefully is friends and family are really looking out for him. There’s no word on who broke up with whom, or how mutual it was. Hopefully they’re both in a better place than last time, and can move on with their lives in a healthy, happy way.

Star moms Kate Hudson & Salma Hayek on how motherhood changed them

In honor of Mother’s day on Sunday, USA Today has new quotes from some celebrity moms on how being a mother has changed their lives. I have a three and a half year old son, and some of these quotes really made me nod and others got me a little choked up. There is nothing that I’ve experienced in life that has changed me more than being a mother. I especially related to what Kate Hudson said about how you have to be careful how you influence your children because they’re so observant. Maybe it’s because we both have sons around the same age, but her thoughts really rang true to me. Most everyone said that being a mother has influenced them to try and be a better person.

Kate Hudson says Ryder, 4, has made her slow down and appreciate more

“I’m very impatient. I like to get things done. I move fast. Patience has been something he’s teaching me. Your children teach you so much. It’s a real mirror of yourself. You recognize the things you do directly affect your children. It hopefully allows you to be more conscious of them and yourself and your actions. When you have kids, it goes so fast. I felt like I was pregnant last weekend, but he’s 4 and he’s talking and he’s gathering his ideas and learning who he is. It’s so easy to step in and fix things and make everything right, but you have to let him figure things out on his own. That’s one of my favorite things to do, to watch how they treat other kids and how they observe other people. Your life becomes about your children. I wake up every morning and I hear his voice, and that’s my favorite thing in the world. There’s nothing like it.”

[From USA Today]

Helen Hunt says her daughter Melenka, 3, inspires her to be calm and relaxed

“It gives me real motivation to try and be the person I want to be. You tell them to be patient. But they’ll do what you do and not what to say. If I want her to be relaxed, I have to be relaxed. Or at least try as hard as I can to seem relaxed. If I want her to be patient, I have to be patient. If I want her to be kind, I have to be kind. I have a deep wish for her to be happy and serene, and it makes me want to do everything I can to be happy and serene.”

Thandie Newton says her daughters Ripley, 7, and Nico, 3, inspire her to be a better person

“I’ve learned the value of stripping it down to the basics: love, respect, compassion, stillness, to be interested, to be able to absorb the moment. I remember the first time Ripley saw her shadow. My god. It was like shadows had just been invented. It was the most exquisite moment. And it was just dish to me. To actively attempt to be a good mother is basically attempting to be a good person. I never look at my kids and feel that they’re mine. I am their caretaker. They own the joint. It’s a privilege to be able to take care of them. With my first daughter, I remember waking up and thinking, ‘My god, I get to be her mum again today. Wow. It’s amazing.’ They just take my breath away. All I do is serve themselves back to themselves. My job is just to provide a secure environment where they can just be themselves. It’s the cycle that keeps going forward. You give to them, so they can give to their kids. You have to be delighted by that.”

Salma Hayek on how Valentina, 7 months, brought out a pure kind of love in her

“You learn so much. Listen to her. She’s in the background. Do you hear that strange noise she makes (like a purr, or a rolled r)? It’s the French in her. It’s hilarious. What I learned as a mother is that I have a strong love for things. But the quality of your love gets jaded over the years as you get beat up. What motherhood did to me, when she was born, the amount of love that started pouring out of me was completely pure. Anything anyone ever did to me was erased by this energy. I relearned how to love everything around me, too. My baby is the best thing that has happened to me in my life. It’s the most amazing thing.”

Kate Hudson and Ryder are shown out on 3/22/08 in Miami, thanks to Splash News.

Kate Hudson wants to date like a teenager, but also wants another baby

spx-020437.jpg
Kate Hudson, like all of us, seems to be fighting with multiple personalities. In one instance, she wants to get in touch with her inner teenager, but in another she’s a mom, and really likes it.

“There are a lot of gossips who like to think that I’m a snogger, but I’m pretty prudish,” says Kate Hudson. “I need to find that 18-year-old in me again, who was way more adventurous when it came to kissing boys. I’m not really like that any more.”

“I would love nothing more than to have a good, honest make-out sesh,” she admits with winning candour, “but I find it really hard, because I’m a mom, and I have no interest in being someone who is out, acting at all like that.”

“I’m a mom and that’s my first priority. There are a lot of people who say, ‘Do you know what I did for you? Have you any idea about the things I gave up?’ I could never be like that. I can’t wait to have more. I’m at that place when I’m ready to have another one and Chris and I are not together. I’m like, ‘Oh no! Uh-oh! I’m ready.’ ” As for dating as a single mum: “Any guy I ever meet is always going to come second to my son,” she says. “And you get to weed out the boys from the men. You definitely know which ones are the boys.”

[From Times Online]

Kate obviously finds dating as hard as the rest of us. She’s looking for a man to father a child, but practicing the dating antics of an 18-year-old. Not many men who like to snog (and still call it snogging) are looking to be parents anytime soon!

Kate split from her husband Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes in 2006, and has a 4-year-old son from her marriage.

Kate is also hoping to make another production – a third film co-starring Matthew McConaughey. The two previously starred together in How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days, and currently in Fool’s Gold.

Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey are shown at the Fool’s Gold London premiere on 4/10/08, thanks to PRPhotos.
