23 year-old Keira Knightley is trying to drum up interest in her new film with Sienna Miller about the two loves of poet Dylan Thomas, The Edge of Love The film is out in the UK and Ireland today, and features Knightley in a topless sex scene as well as singing in a nightclub. Knightley says that baring her breasts comes naturally to her and she dislikes filming sex scenes in a bra, but that singing for the camera was the scariest thing she’s ever done:

“I always bare my breasts,” she said at the press conference to promote The Edge of Love Wednesday at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. “It’s not like it’s only in this film!”

The British actress, 23, is best known for the Pirates of the Caribbean films; last year she went au naturale in the period drama Atonement.

Referring to a scene in the wartime romance The Edge of Love with her onscreen husband Cillian Murphy, Knightley said: “It was very simple. It was a sex scene and I never like them when they’ve got bras on.”

So when the director asked her to remove her bra, “I said, ‘All right then.’”

According to Mr. Skin, Keira has been topless four times on film not counting this latest movie, and once on television. There was a nude butt supposedly of Keira’s character in the 2005 film Domino, but it was stunt double’s butt, not Keiras.

Kiera plays a singer in the Edge of Reason, and there’s a scene where she sings and it’s her actual voice, which is high and sweet. (Here’s a video of her singing scene.) Keira took voice lessons for the film, and she said earlier that “I’ve never been so frightened in my entire life” and “I never want to have to do it [sing] again.”

At the press conference for the film yesterday she elaborated on how truly terrified she was to sing, saying “I thought I was going to die. My knees actually started buckling.”

Keira is a trip. I can’t sing half as well as she can and would gladly reveal my awful voice before willingly going topless, but that’s why she’s an actress and I’m not.

Keira looks kind of starved to me. Her mother recently dismissed rumors that she’s anorexic, saying she “eats like a horse” and has always been thin. Keira has also denied being anorexic, but said that the disorder runs in her family and that her grandmother and great grandmother suffered from it. She also claimed that she’s “twice the size – height and everything else” of “most of the girls” who were competing with her for parts. She has the advantage of being able to belt out a tune, but she painfully underestimates herself in that area too.

Emma Watson, one of the young stars of the Harry Potter movie franchise, has just signed a $6 million deal to be the new face of Chanel, replacing Keira Knightley – either because she’s aging away at 23, or she’s become so thin that her form no longer shows up on television screens. Problematic either way.

The 18-year-old actress has signed a two-year contract worth £3million with the French fashion house to promote the brand [Chanel fragrance Coco Mademoiselle.]. Miss Watson, who became a household name in the films based on JK Rowling’s books, has signed up with leading model agency Storm, which is thought to have secured her first major campaign.

It is understood that she will replace Keira Knightley, 23, whose contract with Coco Mademoiselle ends this summer. Sources said Chanel is creating a new role for Miss Knightley who, in her latest advert, poses provocatively with just a bowler hat covering her modesty.

A source said Miss Watson’s appointment will be announced next month. ‘Emma has been excitedly telling friends that she is going to be taking over from Keira. Emma has been slowly integrated into the Chanel brand. They have been dressing her for film premieres and parties over recent months to see if she is the right fit. Once it became clear she is growing into a beautiful young woman and wears the Chanel brand so elegantly, they had to sign her up. Chanel realises it is important to target a young audience.’

Watson is certainly a lovely girl, and brings with her a younger fan base than other Chanel models like Nicole Kidman, and maybe even a bit younger that Keira Knightley’s fans. It’s good that Chanel isn’t actually kicking Knightley to the curb. Hopefully that’s not a bunch of PR bull to make them sound good. Chanel is obviously one of the classiest brands out there. They must not have paid too much attention to Watson’s drunken behavior on her 18th birthday.

The Huffington Post points us to this video of Keira Knightley singing in a retro-look clip from her upcoming film, The Edge of Love. That’s really her singing and she has a decent voice . Unlike Scarlett Johansson, I don’t see Keira overestimating her vocal ability and putting out an album any time soon. Keira said that she had voice lessons to prepare for the role, in which she plays a singer, and that she’s “never been so frightened in my entire life.”

The star, 23, was terrified of singing in front of an audience – and has vowed never to sing in public again.

She says, “I did some lessons with a voice coach because I can’t sing. There were 100 extras and John (Maybury, the director) was like, ‘Now you’re going to sing…’

And Knightley admits the experience was so horrific, she’ll never embark on a career in the music industry.

I never thought the day would come where I would say this, but Sienna Miller looked absolutely gorgeous at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards last night. She didn’t even look like Sienna Miler – at first I thought the photos had been mislabeled. But there’s really no mistaking her boyfriend Rhys Ifans. On a few occasions you could definitely see her butt through the rather sheer Dior gown, but this is Sienna Miller after all. Worse things could have happened.

Sienna Miller dazzled at the Baftas last night – dripping in diamonds and wearing a stunning, sheer Dior dress. But the party girl disappointed fans by going home early for a good night’s sleep before attending her friend Otis Ferry’s court appearance today. She and boyfriend Rhys Ifans sneaked off at about 11.30pm, snubbing both the official afterparty as well as movie mogul Harvey Weinstein’s celebration at Bungalow Eight in Covent Garden.

Meanwhile, it was disappointment for Keira Knightley and Julie Christie at the London awards ceremony – both were up for the Best Actress award but lost out to French actress Marion Cotillard. Actor Daniel Day Lewis – who won Best Actor for There Will Be Blood – attended the ceremony along with fellow Best Actor nominee James McAvoy, Orlando Bloom, Daniel Radcliffe and Kevin Spacey.

I never thought I’d see the day where I’d say that Sienna Miller looked better than Keira Knightley, but she really did. Keira’s dress wasn’t a total nightmare, but it didn’t really flatter her figure. Here’s a quick award roundup. Even though Keira Knightley is freakishly thin, I used to believe her when she said she wasn’t anorexic. Why? Because I have this stupid desire to see the best in people and figure they know themselves better than I do. So when Keira Knightley says she’s just got the world’s most freaky metabolism, I wanted to believe her. She even sued people for saying she was anorexic and went out of her way to say she doesn’t want to promote eating disorders, yada yada. And she seems to be one of the more intelligent women in Hollywood. But mostly because I am gullible, I suppose. But Keira made some comments to Female First that make it pretty clear she’s suffering from anorexia, along with body dysmorphic disorder. She gave some shockingly frightening quotes, and I’m not taking that out of context.

“‘Weight is a big issue in Hollywood because I’m twice the size – height and everything else – of most of the girls who are going in to see the director for a part. When you realise that I am, at my size, one of the largest actresses there, you start to think, ‘I don’t think it’d be healthy for me to stay here much longer.’”

Well I do have to agree with Keira, in terms of it not being healthy for her to stay in Hollywood much longer. But not because everyone else is messed up and way too skinny, but because her perception is so messed up. I can’t imagine that she weighs more than 90 pounds, max. But because of said previous lawsuits from a paper suggesting she is anorexic, I’m just letting Keira’s lawyers know that I think she’s just the absolutely picture of health, both body and mind.

“The 22-year-old actress has been criticised in the past because of her weight, and accused of having an eating disorder. She was awarded £3,000 damages earlier this year after a British national newspaper suggested she was anorexic.

“Keira has always vehemently denied the claims, but has revealed the life-threatening illness runs in her family. She previously said: ‘I’ve got a lot of experience with anorexia. My grandmother and great-grandmother suffered from it, and I had a lot of friends at school who suffered from it. I know it’s not something to be taken lightly and I don’t.’”

It seems like in the past, she knew how to say just the right things, but this one slip really goes to the heart of the issue. Keira’s able to exist in Hollywood more successfully than other starlets with issues because she isn’t out boozing and clubbing and flashing her lady bits at any photographer who’s willing to look. So people generally lay off her. I remember Nicole Richie freaking out on paparazzi on several occasions for the “eat a sandwich” type comments they were always typing her way. While I’m not sure of it, it doesn’t seem like Keira has to deal with that in London. She generally lives a respectable life (at least by most appearances) so people lay off a bit. Thus no one’s screaming at her (via their keyboards, of course) like we all do at Britney and Lindsay to get their shit together. But frankly, I really hope someone helps her. Something is clearly off.

or why Rexy Aint Sexy …

Keira Knightley is suing the Daily Mail for running a story implying she’s in denial about her anorexia … and also for misrepresenting her clearly striped bikini as polka dot with their failed attempt at a clever Headlline.

She wasn’t exactly curvy to start with, but Keira Knightley seems to be shrinking daily. On a Pacific island holiday with lover Rupert Friend, the 21-year-old actress cut a waif-like figure on the beach.
Miss Knightley was accused of being in denial about her condition by the mother of 19-year old Sophie Mazurek, who died from anorexia last month weighing four stone. …

The pictures don’t make much of a supporting argument, as both she and boyfriend, Rupert Friend (I guess she can probably call him her boyrupert at this point … boyfriend is a little formal … I’m sure they are on a first name basis what with all this beach romping ) appear firmly ensconced in the pale, slim, but muscled and fit school of youthful looks. I mean they are both sporting abdomens I’d love to serve a six course meal on.

However, it’s always up for debate these days … it’s a thin line indeed.

The rexy or not rexy wars are pretty much a staple for the tabloids these days (often with good cause) – they certainly add a dash of instant morality to beach paparazzi shots – all the skin you like and its for the social good. The Daily mail laid it on extra thick with the grieving mother – how can you not feel bad … but the connection to “Miss Knightley” was a bit … I need another word than thin here … tenuous …. weak … padding for a three line article to go along with the bikini shot.

I was thoroughly dissapointed in Pirates 2, which had some cool special effects but seemed to drag on forever without a point. I don’t really care about the next Pirates movie and doubt I’ll be seeing it in the theatre, but people seem excited about it and the site with this concept art for the film got a lot of diggs.

People are commenting on Digg that Keira Knightley has some boobies in these pictures, and also it looks like the movie ends with a fight scene at the edge of the world or near a whirlpool or something. Commentor darthdurden says “yea apparently the biggest spoiler is that kiera knightly is going to be stacked.”

There, I really don’t need to see it now.

These look like the kind of posed bikini candids we’ve been seeing so many of lately. Keira Knightley and her boyfriend, Rupert Friend, played in the ocean in Hawaii and look like they’re having great fun on an overcast day. Keira’s boyfriend is poised on the ledge between buff and too skinny and manages not to look emaciated while poor Keira needs to gain ten pounds. (And get her eyebrows done as usual. Maybe that look helps her land those arty historical movie roles because the women back then had bushy eyebrows too.)

At first I was like “Why does Keira need to pose for happy couple bikini candids?” but then I found an article in The Mirror about how she’s supposedly having trouble in her relationship with her live in boyfriend. These pictures are coming out right after that story and scream “look, we’re fine!”

Keira Knightley is said to engaged at the tender slender age of 21. She was spotted out at a party with her live-in Orlando bloom look-alike boyfriend, Rupert Friend, and their mates having some sort of celebration. She kept calling him her “husband” and ever-reliable source News of the World guesses that means they’re engaged. Keira supposedly said she wants to get married in Italy and plans to get tips from TomKat, but chances are this dialogue was made up instead of overheard:

Did you see the mention of viewparties.com in the article quoted above? It seems pretty likely that they told News of the World Keira was engaged at one of their parties and asked for a plug. That doesn’t mean it’s not true, it just makes it rather suspect.

I take back what I said about Nicole Richie gaining a little bit a weight. She may have put on a few essential pounds a couple of weeks ago, but she looks like death warmed over again in these latest shots on the beach.

Keira Knightley is also taking the anorexic look a little too far. While she claims she’s doesn’t have the disorder, there’s no way she’s eating well if her chest looks like this.

Britain’s Daily Mail reports that Nicole broke into tears and wailed “I have a disease” when a photographer told her to gain some weight. I really doubt that happened, but she is thinner than she was just a few weeks ago. The British rag sounds the alarm about the two young paparrazi-targets’ weight:
