Keira Knightley sported the new helmet mullet hairstyle and an unflattering peach tulle dress that emphasized her concave chest at the Atonement premiere in LA last night. She paired the pastel gown with clunky black and gray heels, dark nail polish, and a huge dark ring, making it seem as if the dress was a last-minute switch from a black outfit that would have better matched her look.

Keira’s ability to dress for a film premiere has no bearing on her acting skill. She plays an upper class British woman who falls for the maid’s son in Atonement, a period drama that is winning rave reviews. Here’s the trailer:

Keira posed topless for the latest cover of Interview Magazine, with a pair of suspenders and her palm strategically placed to hide what are presumed to be nipples. She told Interview that Atonement is about loss and hints at the main conflict in the plot:

There were so many species of loss in [your upcoming film Atonement]–there’s the loss of a girl, the loss of a woman, the loss of a love. Which did you relate to the most? All of them. That’s the power of it. Everybody has regrets. Everybody feels guilty about something, though hopefully not for something as bad as what happens in the movie. But that’s what is wonderful about the book and the film–you understand where these people are coming from. The situation may be completely different from ones I’ve experienced or that most people have experienced, but the core emotions are the same–that we all make mistakes, and sometimes we’re horrendous to each other. It’s the Robbie character [played by James McAvoy] that I find truly heartbreaking, because at the beginning he’s really Christ-like in his goodness–he’s a selfless, perfect person–and in a funny way I don’t think we can ever handle it when someone is that good, so what we do is destroy them.

After I read that quote and saw the preview I was intrigued as to the plot of the film, so I looked up the synopsis of the book (warning: spoilers in linked article), which was written in 2001 by Ian McEwan. Wikipedia is quite good at summarizing entire books and television shows, and I’m one of those people who can’t resist spoilers. It sounds like an excellent film, and the book has received a lot of critical acclaim. The same can’t be said of Knightley’s gown choices, which often feature that middle-of-the-chest baring style that emphasizes how thin she is. She claims to hate it when people comment on her weight and fashion, but if that’s the case she should mix it up a little by wearing dresses that cover her chest, not shoes and jewelry that don’t match.

Keira Knightley should have the world at her feet, she’s a successful actress, she’s a model for Chanel, and she gets paid to kiss Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. Most of us would do it for free. Unfortunately, Keira seems to have lost the ability to look on the bright side, instead complaining about attending red carpet events.

“All these people were coming up to my face and screaming, ‘SEVEN OUT OF TEN!’ – referring to the way I look!” the actress, 22, tells Allure magazine for its October issue. “And you think, You rude f—–.”

Yet despite being outfitted in a Vera Wang gown topped by a diamond-and-ruby Bulgari, Knightly declares, “I hate red-carpet events; I absolutely hate them. I don’t like the fact that people write, ‘Oh, you look like crap’ in print. Or ‘I don’t like your arms!’ ”

In terms of self-assessment, Knightley says, “I’m not Wonder Woman. I have self-esteem problems. Everybody does. You know, skinny people are allowed to feel s— about themselves.”

Keira, anywhere any woman goes she is going to be judged and commented on by others. Get over it. I don’t hear you saying “I hate it when they give me a free dress, hair and make up for a red carpet event.” At least when you turn up looking like crap to an event you haven’t paid for your dress, or spent six hours trying to get your hair to look right, and searching desperately through the 35 shoeboxes in your tiny closet to find a pair without scuff marks.

Well, in this competition there was only one judge, but she had previously kissed Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp. Keira Knightly has declared James McAvoy the best kisser ever.

“James [McAvoy] is the best kisser ever!” a giggling Knightley, 22, said of her Atonement costar while sitting in romantic Venice.

Of course, she’s blurted this out right in front of James’ face. It wouldn’t exactly be diplomatic to say “He’s all tongue and sometimes my nose gets caught up in it, if I wasn’t being paid I’d have puked.” Actually, that would have been pretty hilarious, I wish she had.

Keira’s got a party trick, according to The Independent. She plays ‘Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head’ on her teeth. Please, please have this instead of Beyonce at next year’s Oscar’s.

Keira this week also had her say about Hollywood party girls.

“I’m not going to get blind drunk and then stumble out and fall over and puke up in front of people. I’m not saying I don’t do that in private, but I try not to,’ the Sun quoted her, as saying.

Calling her performance in ‘Atonement’ her best so far, Knightley said that being a celebrity is all about proving that one is shoddier than the other

“The whole celebrity thing is not magic. They’re real people proving they’re s******r than everybody else because they don’t even wear knickers,” she told Empire.

Quite a trick really for Keira and her shapely jaw - both naked and in silk - seems a contradiction in terms, but it turns out not to be a revealing silk teddy slipping off her bony frame, but Silk, a movie set for release next summer.

Funny how all the discussion of her being too skinny goes up like a puff of slender smoke when there’s a rumor that all her bits will be on display. The critics suddenly get very Spencer Tracy in their perspective “There aint much meat on her, but what’s there is Grade A.”

Not just the one time … its plenty o’ nude for your movie-going dollar/euro/yen. Ardent fans don’t need to wait for the DVD, rent it and scan back and forth for your thrilling Knightley glimpse. Just relax in your seat, eat your popcorn and let the multiple nudity moments flow many, many times over your Bent Beckham head.

Others who have seen the test screening are less generous, although more specific, in their assessment of the nudity quotient

- She is nude only in a couple of scenes in “Silk”, once during a love scene and another that readers of the novella will recognize which is when Herve is looking at the letter the “Concubine” wrote and Helene leans over him with her gown gaping open and he internally remarks about her breasts (something about how they are small and like a little girl’s or something like that).

Its good to see this superior quality of future Knightley nudity reporting emerging once again. It bodes well for the future of Keira Knightley nudity journalism, which many felt was in danger of falling into an amateurish enthusiasm for the sheer amount of KK nudity.

Lindsay Lohan will play in a film about poet Dylan Thomas’ wife in which her character is attracted to Keira Knightly’s character. Unfortunately it sounds doubtful that Keira and Lindsay will get it on onscreen, and there will probably just be some sexual tension:

Lindsay will also play a mother in the movie, which seems much less believable than her having an affair with Keira. The film, called “The Best Time of Our Lives” is about a real incident in which Keira Knightly’s character, who is a friend of Dylan Thomas’ wife, and her husband opened fire on the Thomas’ home. Now that also sounds like something Lohan would do.

While she was on the red carpet at a party recently, Lindsay Lohan was served a legal summons to appear in court. She was so upset that she threw the paperwork on the floor:

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 premiered at Disneyland in Anaheim, California on June 24th. The film draws inspiration from the ride of the same name at the Disney theme parks. Pissed off fans and press waited nearly 6 hours at Disneyland for a chance to see the stars, who were gone all too quickly:

That’s annoying that people were made to wait so long. Disneyland didn’t plan it correctly and should not have told people to show up so early.

“Pirates of the Caribbean 2″ opens on July 7th.

Kate Moss is now dating Jamie Dornan, the British Wilmer Valderrama. His acting career hasn’t taken off yet, but somehow he’s managed to hook up with plenty of starlets. In case you’re not familiar with Jamie Dornan, he dated Knightly Knightly on and off for about two years. The two split up in August of 2005 amid allegations that Dornan was jealous of Knightly’s career. Dornan’s only credited film on IMDB is the upcoming “Marie Antoinette.”

Sienna Miller, 24, has now either moved on from her flash-in-the-pan relationship with Hayden Christensen, 24, or is hedging her bets, because she’s now hooking up with Keira Knightly’s ex, Jamie Dornan. Keira can’t just let Sienna drive the guy off with her smoking and excessive drinking - she has to warn her about him and is probably making matters worse:

Knightly is a nosy bitch and she can’t stand to see Sienna enjoying her leftovers. She needs to mind her own business and STFU.

Knightly, 23, was with Dornan on and off for about two years. The two split up in August of last year. She has been dating fellow British actor Rupert Friend, 24, for about two months and just moved in with him.

Keira Knightly donned a god-awful getup for her 21st birthday in London at the club Paper last night. Keira’s boyfriend, Rupert Friend, looked decent in costume, but Keira’s look seemed as forced and fake as the actress herself. She tried to pull off a 20s flapper look but her smug face and a tight ringlet hairdo made her seem like an ugly kewpie doll. Then Keira put on a pig’s mask to avoid being photographed as she left the party.

We reported two days ago that Keira Knightly is moving into a small apartment with her boyfriend, Rupert Friend, partially to escape the paparrazi. Judging from these latest pictures she may get hounded even worse. Pictures of a happy couple are a lot more interesting.

Just Jared reports that Keira loves her coat collection and seems to wear a new one every day. Pretty soon she’ll be switching to raincoats as spring arrives.
