The NY Post is reporting today that Sex and The City co-stars Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon both underwent elective “minor surgeries” at the same hospital. These two are close friends, with Nixon saying on Oprah that Davis was the first person she told about her same sex relationship with Christine Marinoni. This makes sense because friends often influence each other to get work done.

In Nixon and Davis’ case, though, Nixon is said to have had a breast augmentation while Davis had varicose veins on her legs removed.

Apparently, soon after the movie’s release, [Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis] both paid a visit to Roosevelt Hospital on 10th Avenue for minor surgeries. “Cynthia had a breast augmentation and soon after, Kristin had the varicose veins on her legs removed,” said an insider. “They both made sure they did it on the quietest day of the week.” It could explain why Davis always wears long hems. Nixon, whose rep denied the surgery, could have been disappointed with her topless scene. Davis’ rep had no comment.

Cynthia Nixon’s rep denies the story so it’s probably not true. Her boobs were visible for a few seconds in the Sex and The City movie and they looked great. They’re smallish and perky and she looked hot in a sex scene in the film, which kind of surprised me at how explicit it was. She deserves a lot of credit for agreeing to appear topless and for working the great boobs she has.

Nixon also appeared at an event on Tuesday and it doesn’t look like her breast size has changed at all, so I don’t think this story is true. Given the timeline they mention, Nixon had the surgery “soon after the movie’s release” and not this week.

Nixon had breast cancer two years ago and it’s possible she had a procedure to correct something related to that. She had a “very small spot” that was discovered in a routine mammogram removed along with six and a half weeks of radiation and is now cancer free. Judging from her breast size, which is about the same, she didn’t have an enlargement. Nixon is now a spokesperson for the Susan G. Komen foundation and emphasizes the importance of early breast cancer detection.

The new Sex and the City movie is causing a lot of controversy, with people saying it is bad publicity for New York, and that the ladies are too airbrushed in the publicity stills. Lauren Hutton, 64-year-old actress and model, had her own opinion to add.

She said, “It’s written by guys, who happen to be gay, who are sluts. That’s what I think.

“Let’s face it most men are sluts. That’s what testosterone is supposed to do. As a hunter, if you stayed alive after 30, nature wanted your genes out there. Women were just trying to get the best sperm to make a masterpiece.

“You have a bunch a guys who are sluts, writing for women and telling them they are supposed to act like this.”

I’m not even going to touch the ‘gay’ remark, or the fact that I don’t think every man on the planet is a slut, but I will point out that Sex and the City had several female writers as well as men, and was based on a book written by a woman. I’m also going to assume that she meant the sperm was going to be used to make a baby, not an actual piece of art.

I found Lauren’s comments interesting because they came on the same day as this article in the New York Daily News, talking about New York women and their number of sex partners.

Everyone has a “number.” But how many is too many and were the “Sex and the City” women oversexed?

Definitely - compared to the average American woman, who has nine sex partners in a lifetime, according to a survey by the Durex brand of condoms. But compared to the average New Yorker, they were right on target.

According to Karyn Bosnak, who researched the topic for her novel “20 Times a Lady” - about a New Yorker who vows to have sex with a maximum of 20 men - the typical New York City woman’s number is twice the national average.

“Women in other parts of the country tend to get married much younger. It’s not a big deal to be single in your 30s in New York,” says Bosnak, “There’s also the anonymity factor. You can date men from different social circles here. If you have 20 sex partners and you live in a small, rural town, that’s not good.

“I stopped counting at 56,” says Christine, 35, a locations director from Bayside who lives in SoHo. “There are so many opportunities to meet men here - bars, restaurants, clubs, walking down the street, the deli. Men are everywhere.”

I’m not sure why this movie is causing so much controversy, except perhaps that
it features middle-aged women who are being portrayed as sexy, when normally those roles are given to twenty-something actresses. Sarah Jessica Parker herself won’t say no to a sequel, saying that at 43 and with a family, “it’s been the real last year of my life professionally.”

Kristin Davis plays the prim, Elizabeth Taylor-obsessed Charlotte in “Sex and the City.” But in real life, Davis seems like a down-to-earth woman who cares about others. In a recent interview with Health magazine, the actress spoke about her work with Oxfam, a group of non-governmental agencies fighting to end poverty in third world countries. Davis met an Oxfam representative at one of George Clooney’s Save Darfur parties, and has been an ambassador for the organization ever since.

Q. How did you go from donor to ambassador?

A: I was at a party George Clooney was throwing to help with the crisis in Darfur, and I started chatting with two women who work for Oxfam. One said, “You should go on a trip with us.”

I said, “I’d love to. Where do you need me to go?” And she said, “Literally, if you name a place, we need you to go there.”

Q. How did you settle on Mozambique, South Africa, and Uganda?

A: Oxfam identifies areas where people are living in extreme poverty, which means they earn less than $2 a month—a lot of people we met live on less than $1 a month. My main focus is women’s issues. In a war-torn area like Uganda, the women are putting things back together. And in South Africa, there’s a lot of violence against women, and, of all the countries in the world, it has the most people with AIDS.

Q. You visited Soweto in South Africa. What was your impression of the AIDS crisis there?

A: During that first trip, I kept asking, “Why aren’t these people on ARVs?” (Antiretroviral drugs, the standard medications used to manage HIV and AIDS.) But that was two-and-a-half years ago, and, at that time, those types of drugs were too expensive.

Q. They’re more affordable now, right?

A: Yes, they are. But part of the problem is getting people to want to take ARVs. If they don’t have hot meals to eat, taking ARVs is not going to matter. These people don’t have food. They don’t have doctors. I met women taking care of people with AIDS, and they didn’t even have gloves. On my first trip I felt just shocked, the whole time.

Q. You’re tearing up as you talk about this. Did you cry while you were there?

A: Sometimes, in my hotel room. But when I’m there I feel like the people there have the right to cry. I don’t. I’m the most blessed human being in the world because I have the chance to visit. When you’re there, it doesn’t feel as hopeless as it does back here, reading the depressing statistics in the newspaper.

Later in the interview, Davis revealed that she has been a recovering alcoholic for many years- dating back to before she became famous on “Sex.” It was kind of a surprise, especially given that she was once linked to notorious angry drinker Alec Baldwin.

Q. You’re 43, and you look 30. What’s your secret?

A: Thank you. I don’t know. My mom looks great for her age, so I think genetics has a lot to do with it. Also, I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, and I love my Ahava sunscreen.

Q. You don’t drink at all?

A: No, I’m a recovering alcoholic. I’ve never hid it, but I’ve been sober the whole time I’ve been famous, so it wasn’t like I had to go to rehab publicly.

Q. So you pretend to sip Cosmos.

A: It’s caused a lot of confusion out in the world. I get sent many a Cosmo! I never drink them. I believe [alcoholism] is a disease. I don’t think you can mess with it. There was a time when people who didn’t know me well would say, “Couldn’t you just have one glass of champagne?” And I would say, “No.” I’m doing well. I still have occasional bad days. Why risk it?

Kristin offhandedly mentioned her battle with alcohol in an interview back in 2002, when a reporter asked her why she wouldn’t join her in a glass of wine. She said, “I just realized that drinking was counterproductive to what I was trying to do. Acting is very difficult in weird ways. You’d have to get to class by 8am, work all day, rehearse all night, and it’s not really good to do when you’re hung over. I’d wanted to be an actress my whole life, that was my goal, that was all I cared about. Something had to go, so I chose drinking to go.” That’s a pretty smart way of looking at it. Maybe Kristen should give Lindsay Lohan a call and tell her that exact same thing!

Sarah Jessica Parker looked a bit more refined and less Carrie-esque at the premiere of Sex and The City at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. She wore a nude-colored strapless gown with subtle ribbon detail at the top that looks familiar. (If a fashion-minded reader can remind me who wore a similar dress, probably in a darker color, I would appreciate it.) Cynthia Nixon stunned with sleek hair and a flowing black v-neck gown. Kristin Davis was in a deep green 40s style dress with a full knee-length skirt and Kim Cattrall wore a orange colored number with an odd patchwork of fabric pieces that didn’t flatter her.

Berlin’s Morgenpost (article is in German) noted that the four actress spent more then an hour on the pink carpet, and each arrived ten minutes apart. They are staying in four suites on different floors at the best hotel in Berlin, The Hotel Adlon, and arrived yesterday in ten white limos.

The stars of the Sex and The City movie were out for the London premiere tonight. People Magazine notes that the eye-catching contraption on Sarah Jessica Parker’s head is a Philip Treacy hat. Treacy is an Irish designer known for his hat sculptures. She is wearing an Alexander McQueen gown that’s a little too prom-looking, and what’s up with those shoes? The outfit might work with neutral shoes that draw the eyes up. She’s not going for subtlety.

I’m not really fond of any of the other dresses. Kim Catrall’s gown is a pretty cut, but the fabric is very thick and I don’t like the way it flares at the bottom. Cynthia Nixon’s gown is lovely but too low cut and Kristin Davis’ dress is a little matronly, but is probably my favorite.

The Sex and The City movie will be out in the US on May 30th.

Kim Cattrall is going to appear nude in the upcoming Sex and the City feature film – Sarah Jessica Parker has a ‘no nudity’ clause in her contract, and Kristen Davis refused, so it will be interesting to see just how much sex and nudity will appear. It was a pretty controversial thing for prime time television show to feature, and a big part of the success of the series.

Kim Cattrall, who has written two books about sex where she posed nude on the cover, will be featured in all her 51-year-old glory, and her mother Shane is proud.

She (Shane) says, “Kim is a role model for 50-something women. Much has been made about her nudity in the film, but I think she looks fabulous.”

And proud mum Shane, 79, insists people who criticise Cattrall’s on-screen antics are just jealous of her well-preserved body.

She adds, “Anyone who knocks that is jealous. All this fuss about a bit of nudity is ridiculous.”

I am really looking forward to this film. Like the original series, I think it is going to push boundaries. It isn’t often that older women get shown sexually, and rarely are they shown nude. Probably because even the most confident of us doesn’t want the world to judge their body, even when it is appropriately lighted and digitally enhanced.

The Sex and the City movie will also be premiering in London two days before the ‘official’ world premiere in New York, and the four leading ladies will be asking the audience to please not give the plot away. Like the trailer hasn’t already.

The Sex and The City stars were on Oprah yesterday in front of an audience that had screened the film the day before. There was a lot of screaming and enthusiasm for the cast and Oprah raved about how great the movie is. It’s out in the US on May 30. The studio audience had seen most of the film but were not allowed to see the end because they didn’t want all of the plot to get out. The women answered questions about their lives and their work and Mr. Big Chris Noth even came on and talked about his new baby son. Oprah didn’t ask them the standard question about whether they fought at all, and Kristin Davis wasn’t asked about her nude photos that were leaked earlier this year.

Cynthia Nixon talked about discovering breast cancer, and said “I did not cry.”

She talked in a matter of fact way about how she did radiation and had a lumpectomy and a lymph node taken out.

As for how Nixon fell in love with a woman and told her friends, she said “Kristin knew about it first” and Davis said “I know her. I know Christine,” and Nixon said “and then I think other people were left to fend for themselves when it all erupted and these ladies did great and so did Mr. Noth who I know is coming out later [crowd screams]

They were great the things they said to the press.”

SJP: “I think we all know Cynthia so well. She’s such a capable smart thinking person and our greatest concern was that Cynthia be happy… her happiness is everything.”

Oprah: “I heard you just sort of met Christine, fell in love and it didn’t matter to you whether she was male or female or what… how does that work?”

Nixon: “You haven’t met my girlfriend, she’s fantastic.” [others agree]

Davis: “What is love? I think that’s the important thing. There’s something real and intangible and solid about it, and that’s how I feel when I’m around them. It’s just undeniable.”

“He is 23 years younger than me and I wondered ‘what could we possibly talk about?’ but we talk about a lot of things, and he’s a professional chef, so it’s not just good in some areas of the house it’s good in all areas of the house. And he’s very sophisticated, he’s very zen.”

Oprah asked if it was true that they like cooking in the nude together. Kim said that wasn’t true.

Davis said that when she hit 40 the show ended and she wondered what she would do at that point, and she said it made her realize that she wanted to take more pleasure in small things in life. She said “Oh life is so fantastic, but it’s so charged up… you want to be able to feel like you’re connected to the earth.”

Davis said she was tired after all the frenzy at the end of the show, and Kim Cattrall said she went into a funk when the show ended. Cynthia Nixon said she was in love so she didn’t get depressed at that point.

Chris Noth came on to a lot of screaming. Oprah first asked if he gained insight about women from working on the show and he answered “Never interrupt makeup sessions.”

Noth said coming back for the movie was a no-brainer and that it’s the best job in the world.

As for how much he’s like Big, he says “He’s a lot more self edited than me.”

Davis said “Chris is very very male… like a Alpha male thing.”

They were joking about how Chris was doing Law and Order at the same time and how he had to do prison scenes and how much of a contrast it was to Sex and The City.

They showed pictures of Chris with his baby son Orion, who is three and a half months old. He explained that the constellation Orion was the first one he would see in the sky when he was in college. He introduced his girlfriend Tara in the audience, and said “I’m so lucky.”

Noth told a heart wrenching story about how doctors told Tara after she first found out she was pregnant that they couldn’t find a heartbeat and that she would have a miscarriage. He said she talked to the baby all night and that the next day a heartbeat was found. He called Orion a fighter.

SJP talked about her five and a half year old son and said he asks a million questions. She said it helps her realize how much you know and how little you know.

They showed the amazing shoes, dresses and purses used for the costumes and all the women said that it was a lot of fun getting dressed for the show. SJP had 81 outfit changes.

They had the director Michael Patrick King on via Skype and he joked that he’s “cutting out all the imaginary dream sequences.”

The dream sequence explanation sounds like a ruse
From the comments that SJP gave you can kind of tell that the dream sequence story was one they made up on the spot to try and keep the paparazzi and fans from guessing plot points after scenes were photographed in NY. But given all the well-deserved hype surrounding this film, I think it’s safe to say that whatever details were leaked won’t deter people from seeing it.

Most of you thought I was wrong when I first said that those Kristin Davis nude photos couldn’t be her due to their dubious origin. I thought that the woman looked younger than her, but many of you pointed out that the hairline and features were exactly the same and that the photos could have been taken years ago.

It turns out that they’re pictures from over 15 years ago and that a creepy ex boyfriend of Kristin’s sold them to someone else. Then they passed hands again a couple of times until they ended up online. These are just stills and there is no sex tape coming:

The photos, we’re told, were snapped in 1992 by an ex-boyfriend. That’s right, they are just photos — no sex tape, fellas! According to reports, 20 photos are making the rounds, but actually it’s not quite 20.

We’re told the ex-boyfriend was pissed at Kristin and then sold the photos to a third party. Classy, huh?

The third party got involved in a business venture with another guy and we’re told that guy pilfered the pics and they ended up online.

There is no way I’m ever letting my husband take naked photos of me for this reason. It doesn’t matter how much you trust the person or how in love you are, don’t tape or photograph anything you don’t want people to see.

Kristin was 27 when these photos were taken and she looks much younger than that. She’s a gorgeous woman and most of us have done what she’s doing (except for Pink), we just don’t all have photos of it.

Davis’ rep has denied that these photos are her and says that there is no sex tape. That seems to be at least partially true.

Late yesterday a still from a supposed Kristin Davis sex tape was released. The 42 year-old actress plays sweet Charlotte in Sex and The City and has appeared in family-friendly films like The Shaggy Dog and Deck The Halls. The photo really looked like her from that particular angle, but then another still was released and it doesn’t look quite like her to me. Davis’ nose is thinner than the woman’s shown, the woman looks younger and doesn’t have any lines around her eyes, and it seems like a lookalike.

The “Kristin Davis sex tape” story originated on a porn-centric blog, ScottFayner.com, (link NSFW or under-18) and the author urged visitors to subscribe to porn star Taylor Rain’s website in order to view more screencaps. One commentor said that when he subscribed to that website he couldn’t find the photos of the supposed sex tape, but Fayner assures us in another post that they’re there, if only we pay to join that website that is advertised and mentioned throughout his site. No one else vouches for the existence of the photos.

Fayner says that he hasn’t seen the sex tape but that he does have these caps we can see, again only if we subscribe to that site.

It’s got to be mortifying to see someone that looks like you from certain angles sucking off some guy. It just doesn’t look like her to me, and if it was they would have the actual tape somewhere. Look for a denial from Davis’ people today. She should work with Funny or Die to make a spoof tape like Eva Longoria. A sex tape rumor is a decent way for an actress to get some publicity if she works it to her advantage and makes it a joke. It’s also a clever way for a porn star to get people to subscribe to her website.

Here are the censored photos. No penis is shown anywhere, it is fully cut out of these pictures, but you can tell what’s going on. The first one is the first still that was released and it does look a lot like her. The second one, not so much.

Update: Davis’ rep tells Page Six “This is not a photo of Kristin Davis. There is no sex tape.”

Update 2: The photos have been obscured more after what I thought was her tongue turned out to be something else. And most of you are saying that it looks just like her down to her facial features. I think I was too quick to judge based on the questionable origin of the photos.

Sex and the City was – and still is – one of my favourite guilty pleasures on television. Even if by the time it screened in Australia the fashions were very last season. Doing my nails in front of Grey’s Anatomy just isn’t the same. So I’m pretty excited about the movie, and as hard as I tried to resist temptation, I read the spoilers.

Sporting a large baby bump and laden with shopping bags, Kristin Davis’s character and Mr Big, played by Chris Noth, get into a heated argument outside a restaurant. An outraged Charlotte takes to him with her shopping bags.

Charlotte’s waters break during the slinging match and — sparing no thought for what a woman’s waters will do to luxury car upholstery — Mr Big ushers Charlotte into his car for the trip to the hospital.

In other plot news, Sarah Jessica Parker’s (SJP) character Carrie goes flat hunting with Mr Big after the pair agree to move in together.

I’m not sure how careful the movie is going to pick up where the series left off – and will it all be tied into a nice little bundle at the end? I sort of liked the ending, as it wasn’t a fairytale, like they were real people who would keep on living.

For those of you who can’t remember the season finale, Carrie and Big were reunited in Paris after she split with sexy Russian Aleksander Petrovsky. Big’s real name was revealed to be John.

Miranda was married to Steve and living in Brooklyn with his mother and their baby.

Charlotte married Harry and they were adopting a baby from China.

And Samantha found true love with Smith Jerrod, after beating breast cancer.

The movie has already begun filming, but Kim Cattrall’s feud with Sarah Jessica Parker may be back on again, after she stormed out of a party to celebrate the start of filming the movie. Hopefully they’ll catch some of their fights on film for the DVD extras.
