The Las Vegas district attorney is trying to ensure that all of us have a really great week. Yesterday, Paris Hilton was formally charged with felony possession of cocaine. And now Radar’s sources are saying that the DA is hell-bent on locking Paris away. HURRAY!!! Finally, a legal system with a sense of real celebrity justice. Granted, all of this happy-talk from Radar’s sources could be total crap, and I think that the Hilton money will be employed to pay off a number of people to ensure that Paris’s stupidity haunts the world forever. The DA, David Roger, is some kind of notorious legal badass, though, so I am allowing myself to dream of a world with Paris Hilton locked away in a dank hole. Coughcoughspeakingofdankholescough.

Paris Hilton is about to discover what O.J. Simpson already knows: when it comes to justice, Las Vegas can be a lot tougher than Los Angeles. District Attorney David Roger is highly unlikely to offer Paris a plea bargain deal on her cocaine possession charge, a source close to the case told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

The veteran Clark County, Nevada prosecutor put Simpson behind bars on robbery charges after the former football great beat murder charges in Los Angeles.

“Roger won’t tolerate celebrities coming to Las Vegas and thinking they can get away with illegal behavior,” the source close to the case told RadarOnline.com.

“It’s going to be extremely difficult for Paris to get out of these charges, even with the brilliant legal skills of her lawyer, David Chesnoff.”

Hilton is facing a felony drug possession charge that carries a prison sentence of one to four years. She claimed the purse she was carrying, where the cocaine was found, did not belong to her. Roger is running for reelection and has a record of high-profile victories in the legal arena.

“This is a high profile case, right before a very important election, and it’s very likely that there will be no plea bargaining down of these charges,” said the source.

According to an arrest report obtained by RadarOnline.com, Hilton, 29, told cops she didn’t own the purse in which 0.8 grams of cocaine was found, but admitted she owned other items that were in the purse.

She reportedly told a Las Vegas police lieutenant that she had borrowed the purse from a friend, but acknowledged owning money, credit cards and a broken tablet of the prescription drug Albuterol that was also found in the bag.

The man who arrested Hilton, Lt. Dennis Flynn, said a small plastic “bindle” of the drug fell out of her purse when she reached for a tube of lip balm. Hilton is taking the charges “very seriously,” said a source close to the socialite.

“Paris has been advised to lay low,” said the friend. “Paris is 100 per cent adamant that the cocaine found in the purse, wasn’t hers. She says she borrowed the handbag from a girlfriend because the handbag she was going to use for the night didn’t match her outfit.”

Hilton’s boyfriend, 34-year-old Las Vegas nightclub mogul Cy Waits, was also arrested.

Police say Waits failed field sobriety tests after he was stopped while driving the black Cadillac Escalade from which a police motorcycle officer reported smelling marijuana smoke. The Vegas bust was the third encounter in three months with law enforcement for Hilton.

Well, here’s hoping. This reminds me a little of the Charlie Sheen case, where the Boulder DA seemed to think he had a pretty awesome case against Charlie and then the whole thing fell apart in a matter of weeks, because Charlie’s team is so skilled at crisis management. Question: How f-cking stupid is Paris Hilton? I mean, I’ve always known she’s really, really, mind-numbingly idiotic, but now that I’ve read some excerpts from the new, just released criminal charge against Paris, I have new questions about how she is capable of functioning on a daily basis. And no, I’m not making fun of people who have actual mental handicaps – Paris is just an idiot, willfully and powerfully stupid. So, Paris is being formally chanrged with felony cocaine possession in the great state of Nevada. The Las Vegas DA released the formal charge, and the police report, which is totally worth a read:

Paris Hilton has been charged with felony cocaine possesion, RadarOnline.com has learned. According to the criminal complaint filed by the Las Vegas District Attorney, Paris “Wilfully (sic), unlawfully, feloniously, knowingly, and intentionally possess a controlled substance, to-wit: Cocaine.”

As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, Hilton was arrested early Saturday morning in Las Vegas after cops found .8 grams of cocaine on the heiress at a traffic stop. Her boyfriend Cy Waits was the driver of the car and after the car was stopped when the officer smelled “the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.” Cy was “administered a series of filed sobriety tests, which Waits failed.”

Police wrote in their report that Paris told the officer she was “extremely embarrassed” and needed to used the bathroom “badly” so the officer escorted her into the Wynn.

The officer wrote that Paris was carrying a purse as they went into the Wynn and Hilton told him she needed to put some lip balm on. “As she began to open it, I saw a small bindle of what I believed to be cocaine in a clear baggy begin to fall from the purse and into my hand.”

The officer waited for the arrival of a female officer to assist in the search and they removed the “suspected bindle of cocaine,” and then Paris was read her Miranda rights. Paris told the officer that the purse was not hers, and that “she had borrowed it from a friend.”

When the officer asked Hilton whose cocaine it was “she said she had not seen it but now thought it was gum.”

Paris told the officer the $1,300 cash and credit card were hers, but “several cosmetic items in the purse were not hers.”

The officer placed Paris under arrest “for possession of a controlled substance cocaine.”

My God. You know how it went down too – and you know Paris thought she was being clever. She was coked out of her mind, and she thought up a “clever” scheme to talk her way out of the arrest: “I have to go potty, Officer…” And so the cop took her to the Wynn and she proceeded to open up her purse – with the cocaine visible – in front of the cop! Was part of the scheme to flush the cocaine and Paris just didn’t get to it, and so now she’s all “That’s not gum?” Oh, and the money and credit cards were hers, but the purse wasn’t. Of course. She’s just ridiculous. Oh, and TMZ says that the total amount of cocaine Paris had on her was 0.8 grams. I expected more, honestly. More coke, I mean.

According to TMZ, Judge Hamlet (Elden Fox) decided that he wasn’t going to pronounce some “mystery sentence” on Lindsay Lohan today, and instead he will make his ruling tomorrow morning (PST). Most sources are verifying that Judge Fox will FREE THE CRACKHEAD.

Lindsay Lohan may be a free woman in 24 hours … based on new developments in the case.

As TMZ first reported, all signs are pointing to Lindsay Lohan being released from UCLA this week — and we’re hearing it will happen tomorrow. Judge Elden Fox has decided not to issue an order today, but rather he will make a decision tomorrow at 8:30 AM PT.

As we’ve told you, the doctors at UCLA think Judge Marsha Revel’s mandate that Lindsay spend 90 days in rehab is excessive, and they are recommending an early release.

Sources tell us going into last weekend, the plan was for a Wednesday release, and all signs now point to Judge Fox releasing Lindsay tomorrow morning and ordering outpatient care.

Previously, I’ve never had that strong an opinion of Taylor Lautner. At times, I’ve read interviews with him where he sounded like a really nice, down-to-earth kid. Other times, I just thought to myself “Gay, but doesn’t know it yet.” There’s nothing wrong with the kid beeping on my gaydar – but it’s interesting that Lautner, Inc. (with the help of Hollywood) is trying to bill him as the wholesome heartthrob next door, the perfect boy for young girls to bring home to their parents. But Taylor might have a big issue – he just MIGHT be a diva bitch. Maybe. According to TMZ, Taylor is suing a company that makes those fancy, tricked-out trailers for movie stars to use while they’re on a film set. Taylor had his fancy trailer ordered, and this company didn’t deliver on time. So Taylor is suing for “emotional distress” and “annoyance”.

Taylor Lautner claims he’s suffering from “emotional distress” and “annoyance” … because his RV trailer wasn’t delivered on time.

In a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Lautner claims he made a deal with McMahon’s RV to purchase a personal trailer for around $300,000 … a trailer he could use while shooting his new movie, “Abduction.”

According to the suit, the deal was that the trailer would be tricked out and delivered by no later than June 21 … but it wasn’t.

Lautner claims breach of contract and fraud and wants unspecified damages.

Apparently, the lawsuit is for $7 million…? Maybe. Eh. That’s how I feel about this. Sure, it was breach of contract and I get that Taylor has the “right” to sue. That will make the emotional distress go away.

Ever since Judge Marsha Revel recused herself from Lindsay Lohan’s ongoing legal drama, the word on the street is that Lindsay will be getting out of UCLA’s rehab facility much earlier than her sentence of 90 days. Dina Lohan took to the Today Show airwaves to make the initial pronouncement (something about “propaganda” and “hardball”), and then TMZ and Radar’s sources pretty much verified it. Now sources are saying that Lindsay’s new judge, Judge Elden Fox, is going to issue a “mystery ruling” today. If he’s just going to let Lindsay out of rehab early, how is that a mystery? A real surprise would be if Judge Fox actually gave Lindsay the “apology” and “compensation” she’s seeking. A real surprise would be if Judge Elden’s ruling was “Psych! You have to stay in rehab for a year, bitch.”

A mystery ruling in the ongoing court proceedings of troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan will be issued by Judge Elden Fox Tuesday afternoon, Los Angeles Superior Court officials said Monday.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Lohan’s attorney Shawn Chapman Holley is slated to attend a probation modification hearing Wednesday, along with prosecutors in the case, in hopes of getting the Mean Girls star out of rehab early, as her doctors at UCLA Medical Center believe she does not need more than 30 days of treatment.

Lohan, 24, was sentenced by the first presiding judge in the case, Judge Marsha Revel, to serve 90 days in jail, followed by 90 days of rehab for probation violations stemming from her 2007 DUI conviction.

Lohan began serving her sentence July 20 at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, California. After two weeks in custody, Lohan on August 2 was discharged from the CRDC early for good behavior and overcrowding, and taken directly to UCLA Medical Center to begin the rehabilitation stage of her sentence.

CB and I have been discussing this all morning, and it’s gotten to the point where I think she and I are two ridiculously morbid, conspiracy-loving bitches. So, Radar’s top story today is about a not-so mysterious death of someone vaguely involved in the Mel Gibson drama. The woman who died was Lucia’s babysitter, and she was the Latina woman that Mel and Oksana fought about memorably in one of their recorded telephone conversations. This woman was the one that Mel referred to as a “wetback”. And now she’s dead. Of CANCER.

Mel Gibson has been spared the eyewitness testimony of the babysitter who saw his rage first-hand — the same woman who the bigoted actor labeled a “wetback” — because she has passed away, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The woman had been battling stage four cancer for some time, but lost her fight at the weekend, we’re told.

As RadarOnline.com was first to reveal, the unnamed babysitter was an eyewitness to actor Mel’s rage before the alleged rampage at his Malibu mansion on January 6.

While Mel’s former love Oksana Grigorieva attended a basketball game for her 12-year-old son Sascha, in the hours before the brutal blow-out, the Braveheart star became enraged that his lover had left their infant daughter Lucia at home with the nanny.

As RadarOnline.com reported, she witnessed Mel storming around the house, slamming doors and growing furious.
The nanny was so frightened that she took Lucia and hid in a bedroom, according to Oksana’s statements to law enforcement authorities.

According to Oksana, the babysitter said Mel was screaming to someone on the phone, “I want to [expletive] destroy you.”

Despite the testimony from Oksana, the woman never provided a statement direct to law enforcement investigators before she died, nor did she write a declaration in support of Oksana.

While she was considered a potentially strong witness, notably, the woman left Mel’s Malibu mansion before he allegedly punched Oksana twice in the face as she held their infant daughter, leaving her with two broken veneers and a concussion.

She also became a target of the foulmouthed actor, when he has been caught on one of the now infamous recordings, referring to her as a “wetback”.

Mel implied he was going to report the staffer to immigration authorities, saying: “I will fire (name omitted) if she’s at your house. I will make it known and fire her. I’ll report her to the f*cking people that take f *cking money from the wetbacks, ok?”

Is it wrong that my first thought was “how convenient for Mel”? Yes, I don’t need to ask that, I know it’s wrong. This poor woman, I’m sorry to minimize her family’s grief in the least. But it definitely sends up an alert for all of us conspiracy theorists. By the way, Mel is out of the country, and he‘s missing depositions right and left. He’s either in Fiji or on one of his private islands in the Pacific, doing God knows what (I imagine that’s some Dr. Moreau sh-t). Does everyone remember my girlfriend Judge Marsha Revel? She was the lady who sentenced Lindsay Lohan to 90 jails in jail for her crackhead ways. She didn’t take sh-t from Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, and Revel also publicly reamed Lindsay’s alcohol education class system, which was pretty awesome. Anyway, Judge Marsha has withdrawn herself from Lindsay’s case! Too bad. This sucks:

TMZ has learned … Judge Marsha Revel has removed herself from the Lindsay Lohan case after allegations the judge improperly contacted people involved in the case.

Sources tell us … lawyers in the case had a conference call with Judge Revel last Friday at 3:30 PM. Lawyers complained that Judge Revel had contacted “participants and experts” in the case without notifying the the lawyers in advance.

We’re told one of the issues — Judge Revel took it upon herself to make contact with people from the Morningside Recovery rehab facility and then selected Morningside, even though it was not on the list of recommended facilities by her own court-appointed experts. Ultimately, Lindsay’s lawyer convinced Judge Revel to send LiLo to UCLA. But the issue was raised on Friday.

Judge Elden Fox — who also presides in Bev Hills — is the new judge on the case.

UPDATE: Sources in the D.A.’s Office tell TMZ … prosecutor Danette Meyers was the one who raised the objection with Judge Revel on Friday. We’re told Judge Revel voluntarily recused herself before Meyers filed legal papers to have her removed.

UPDATE: We’re told among the prosecutor’s complaints — Judge Revel spoke with Morningside reps at least twice, medical experts at least twice, and Robert Shapiro in chambers without the lawyers being notified in advance.

It sounds like the prosecution was mad that Judge Revel was doing their work for them, doesn’t it? That Revel fancied herself an investigator. Which isn’t the worst thing – if it’s one thing that Lindsay actually needs, it’s someone who is on her ass all the time, calling her crack lies one by one. Oh well. One last Lohan story: When asked about who she does not envy, Jennifer Aniston’s name-checked Blohan. Aniston said: “I don’t envy Lindsay Lohan. Poor thing.” Poor Lindsay. Is there anything worse?!?

Among all the stories about what a verbally and physically abusive piece of trash Mel Gibson is, this particularly resonated with me. Radar Online is reporting that Mel Gibson may have hired “private investigators” to visit and intimidate witnesses who were prepared to testify on behalf of his estranged girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva. As Radar explains, this sheds light onto the reasons why Oksana’s dentist may have changed his tune about her abuse. (He gave contradictory statements about it to TMZ.)

In a bombshell twist in the scandal, multiple sources have confirmed to RadarOnline.com that Mel’s camp had two private investigators visit at least two star witnesses, who are poised to provide evidence against the Oscar-winning actor/director about the January 6 brawl.

Oksana has told cops investigating the Lethal Weapon star he punched her twice in the face, leaving her with two broken veneers and a concussion.

RadarOnline.com learned that one of the witnesses who was visited by Mel’s private eyes was Oksana’s dentist, Dr. Ross Sheldon.

“This calculated ploy explains the conflicting stories the dentist supposedly made about the injuries Oksana suffered at the hands of Mel,” said a source, with intimate knowledge of the case.

Dr. Sheldon had reportedly privately declared the Russian musician, 40, had no swelling or bruising and there was no evidence of a strike to the mouth, despite photos — seen exclusively on RadarOnline.com — appearing to prove otherwise.

Complicating matters, the comments were in direct contrast to what the dentist said in a declaration to the court, that he believed Oksana suffered injuries from being struck twice, once in the side of the head and once in the mouth.

“Oksana’s camp believe Mel’s private eyes visited the dentist with a clear intent to make a forceful impression,” said the source.

Was it an intimidation tactic?

The source said: “If a level of doubt was created in regards to the dentist’s view about Oksana’s injuries, he could be considered someone who is not a credible witness.

“Mel’s lawyers could easily mount an argument against the dentist: on one hand, Dr. Sheldon protested one statement in a declaration to the court yet, here he was quoted supposedly having an opposing view.”

Despite his apparent conflicting stories, Dr. Sheldon has insisted he is willing to go on record stating that Oksana did indeed suffer a major blow to her mouth.

The dentist’s alleged statement backtracking on Oksana’s injuries was leaked to a Web site. But that Web site was later forced to retract the report after a lawyer representing the dentist made it clear the statements attributed to him were inaccurate.

Two private detectives visited the home of a second witness, RadarOnline.com has also learned.

I love how Radar Online doesn’t name TMZ and just calls them a “website,” just as TMZ never gave credit to Radar when the ran all the tapes of Mel ranting like a lunatic. Obviously there’s some rivalry there.

Witness tampering is incredibly serious and if this is true and Oksana’s people can prove it, it may be much more damning to Mel’s case. I wouldn’t put it past this guy given everything we’ve seen from him so far.

Meanwhile Mel has still not been deposed in his domestic abuse case against Oksana. He missed a scheduled deposition last Friday as he was out of the country reportedly fishing with a couple of his sons. TMZ, which used to be Mel’s mouthpiece but seems a little less biased at this point, reports that he’s “going great lengths to avoid sitting for his deposition.” They claim he’s going to take the 5th and not testify, when it comes to that. The case should be turned over to the District Attorney in about two weeks.

Last week, Naomi Campbell was forced to testify at the war crimes tribunal of former Liberian dictator/genocidal madman Charles Taylor. Naomi had tried to get out of testifying – but she was subpoenaed, and after all, the prosecutors are more interested in prosecuting Taylor than some crazed, perjuring phone-throwing diva. When I was going through Naomi’s testimony, I noticed that she was contradicting several of her own previous statements, and that her story seemed at odds with Mia Farrow’s, who was also at this dinner for Nelson Mandela in 1997, and who had not only witnessed several of the events in question, but was the one to “out” Naomi to the war crimes tribunal. Naomi had received blood diamonds from Taylor or his men – and Mia Farrow was the one began telling people that.

Anyway, Mia took the stand today and she basically called Naomi out for being a lying liar who is filled with lies. Can I just say? I f-cking love Mia Farrow, and I love that she’s this ballsy. When Naomi hears this, she’s going to fly to Mia’s house and beat her with a bedazzled phone. Mia is very brave:

Actress Mia Farrow, testifying in the war crimes trial of ex-Liberian ruler Charles Taylor in the Netherlands Monday, said that supermodel Naomi Campbell excitedly told her she’d been given “a huge diamond” by Taylor following a South African dinner party in September 1997, contradicting Campbell’s testimony she’d been given “a few … small dirty-looking stones” from an unknown sender.

As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, Campbell, 40, testified last week that following the dinner party hosted by Nelson Mandela, she’d been woken up in the middle of the night and given a pouch containing the stones by two men, who remained silent throughout the exchange. Campbell claimed that she didn’t know who sent her the stones.

On Monday, Farrow, 65, told the court a different version of the events, claiming that while she was eating breakfast with her children the next morning, Campbell bragged to her about the lavish gift — and knew exactly where it came from.

“She said that in the night she had been awakened, some men were knocking at the door, and they had been sent by Charles Taylor,” Farrow said. “And they had given her a huge diamond.”

Farrow, under cross examination, said she “didn’t see the diamond or diamonds” and was strictly going by “what Naomi Campbell said,” adding that the model was excited by the gift, and told her she was planning on donating it to charity.

Campbell testified that she gave the stones along to a friend who was connected to children’s charity run by Mandela. The volatile supermodel did not want to testify before the war crimes tribunal, until officials last month threatened her with seven years behind bars for contempt of court if she refused.

The stones — commonly referred to in the news as a “blood diamonds” — serve as proof that Taylor had been trading firearms to rebels in neighboring Sierra Leone during that country’s civil war from 1991 to 2002, prosecutors said. In exchange, Taylor received the diamonds and other natural resources from the rebels.

Taylor, who’s also accused of murder, rape, sexual enslavement and recruiting child soldiers, has plead not guilty to the 11 war crimes he stands accused of.

Team Farrow. Here’s the thing that’s kind of awesome: when you watch the video, you can really tell that Mia isn’t out to get Naomi Campbell. Mia is just telling her truth, what she remembers, her version of events, and I think she’s got a pretty good recollection. What kills me is that the prosecution isn’t out to get Naomi – she’s just lying because she doesn’t want to admit that she maybe probably still has the diamond(s) when I think people would understand if she just came clean. Dayum. Last year, tabloids like Star Magazine began reporting that Fantasia Barrino had homewrecked her way in the marriage of a North Carolina family. Her lover’s name is Antwaun Cook, and he and his wife Paula are parents to a 1 year old and a 4 year old. Paula Cook has just filed for divorce, and in the court papers, Paula is calling out Fantasia, big time. Not only is Paula naming Fantasia as “the other woman,” Paula alleges that Fantasia and Antwaun made sex tapes. Plural. Paula is citing these sex tapes as potential proof of the affair – after all, North Carolina is one of the seven states where a wife can sue her husband’s mistress. Oh, NOES. One more thing: Paula alleges that Fantasia called her and told her to back off! That’s right: a man’s mistress called his wife and told THE WIFE to back off. Oh, Fantasia.

Court documents filed this week by a woman in North Carolina allege her husband had an affair with former “American Idol” champ Fantasia Barrino — and that the two made a sex tape.

According to docs obtained by WCNC, Paula Cook filed for child support against her estranged husband Antwaun Cook last week and cited an alleged affair between Cook and Barrino. She claims the two met at a T-Mobile store and, beginning in August 2009, began their “covert adulterous affair.”

Cook goes on to claim, “Throughout the course of their adulterous affair… Defendant/Husband and Ms. Barrino have at times recorded their illicit activity.”

His wife, Paula Cook, has filed a complaint seeking custody of the couple’s two young children, ages 1 and 4, along with child support and alimony. The complaint references a sex tape as one possible element to prove an affair.

“You can sue that third party. Most of the cases involve sex, it doesn’t have to be sex, it can be something much lower,” says Professor Beau Baez from The Charlotte School of Law.

He says that North Carolina is one of seven states where a “homewrecker” has something to worry about. They can be sued.

According to the complaint, Fantasia told Paula Cook to get lost in so many words.

Court documents show in a phone call, Fantasia says, “He don’t want you. Maybe the next time that you get a husband you’ll know how to keep him. That’s why he is here with me.”

Rumors of an affair between Barrino and Cook have been around for months — and Barrino has always denied them.

Calls to Fantasia’s management were not immediately returned.

Doesn’t sound like the affair was all that “covert” in my opinion, considering it was widely reported in the tabloid press and the urban blogs for a year, and considering Fantasia was all, “I know you’re married to him, but he’s mine, bitch.” Bossip has some photos of Antwaun, and he’s… actually pretty cute, honestly. Not Clive Owen or anything, but he’s a cutie. I can’t see acting this way over him, but maybe he’s good in bed or something. Or maybe Fantasia is just all kinds of wrong.
