Here’s Jennifer Lawrence at Cannes (and settling nicely into a Liam Hemsworth and Sam Claflin sandwich) while wearing Dior at an early photocall for Catching Fire. I’m labelling this “early” because Catching Fire is not actually screening in Cannes — it’s not even close to being a finished movie! Yet it is never too early for the promotional game, and there are flaming billboards up near the famed Majestic Barriere hotel.

Hence this photocall — and I’ll be perfectly honest here and admit that this Dior jumpsuit is so unflattering that, upon first glance, I was certain that JLaw was wearng some awful Stella McCartney creation that was making her look lumpy in places that certainly would look much better with a flattering design. After all, Jennifer has worn Stella before even if that instance was a rare Stella design that actually looked halfway decent. However and now that this look can be attributed to Dior, there is simply no excuse for the ruffled detail around the waist that is the crowning achievement of awkwardness atop a black crochet bustier erroneously coupled with off-black pants. Poor JLaw, and her shoes are nearly as mystifying as Claflin’s choice of footwear.

Since I’m in the mood for full disclosure tonight, I will admit that even though I am the resident JLawloonie, her recent haircut wasn’t met with much excitement on this end. Kaiser thought it was cute, but I didn’t like it in its wavy incarnation. Now I’m seeing this haircut in all of it’s messy, piecy glory, and it is glorious and accompanied by a complete absence of winged bangs. It is spectacular. It might be my new haircut.

Liam Hemsworth looks quite appetizing too, right? I quite like him with only the tiniest bit of scruff and am pleased that he shaved the overzealous beard away.

JLaw is wearing Dior again (and this look is so much more sophisticated than the other outfit) while Liam is wearing the most delicious Dolce & Gabbana suit. Yesterday, we discussed how Liam’s brothers, Chris and Luke, had allegedly staged an intervention to tell him that his relationship with Miley obviously wasn’t working and that it was time to cut the cord. My opinion on the matter is that Liam is probably still sleeping with January Jones and knows that Miley won’t dump him, but he’s too much of a chickensh-t to do it himself. According to this week’s issue of In Touch, Miley is trying to talk Liam into going with her to couple’s counseling. Good luck, Miley:

The’ve postponed their wedding, and she’s taken off her engagement ring, but Miley Cyrus, 20, isn’t ready to throw in the towel with Liam Hemworth just yet. “She’s hoping to save her relationship by enlisting a therapist,” reveals an insider close to Miley. “She knows that Liam is one foot out the door and that she’ll lose him if she doesn’t act fast.” But Liam, 23 — who seems to have checked out of the relationship since February, when he was seen leaving a pre-Oscars party with “Mad Men” actress January Jones, 35 — isn’t sure they have a future together. “Miley and Liam fight constantly because he’s always questioning if she’s the same girl he fell in love with,” says the insider. Miley is hoping that “professional help” will turn things around, adds the insider: “They need to find some common ground.”

Hmm. If this story is true, then at least they’re considering couple’s therapy before marriage rather than waiting until they’re married and miserable. Good idea? Most of the married couples that I know who have tried therapy have waited until things are super, super broken already, so they didn’t get much out of the process, but premarital counseling makes a lot more sense, assuming that both parties are into it. This week’s issue of Star adds that Miley is using shopping as her current form of self therapy:

Forget pints of ice cream and sappy movies — Miley Cyrus’ remedy for her broken heart is to shop until she drops! The 20-year-old star has been spending wildly since her reported split from fiance Liam Hemworth, who is now secretly dating “Mad Men” vixen January Jones, as Star previously revealed. In addition to ordering a $150,000 new Porsche, Miely has dropped more than $60,000 on furniture for her Toluca Lake, Calif., home and at least $100,000 on jewelry and clothes.

“Miley can’t seem to stop spending,” her friend says. “She is really sad, and it’s the only thing that seems to cheer her up. Now her friend worries that her costly new hobby is becoming an obsession, saying, “All she wants to do is work on her new album and shop.”

Well, it’s not like Miley (who supposedly has a net worth of $120 million) can’t afford a few shopping sprees and a new car as a form of therapy. Honestly, I think that Liam really is “out the door” and just can’t admit it, so Miley spending her money on clothes is probably more productive than blowing it on couple’s therapy.

There’s other Miley news spilling forth too. We recently covered the photoshoot and some excerpts of Miley’s recent Elle UK cover feature, and now the magazine has released a weird excerpt that reveals how Miley thinks her old London flat was haunted by the ghost of a young boy who watched her take a shower. Spooky.

Back to Liam and Miley though. These kids haven’t been photographed together since late 2012, and their body language at the time is very telling, isn’t it?

About this time last year, Liam Hemsworth’s brothers seemed crazy about his then-girlfriend, Miley Cyrus. Then the two young lovers got engaged, and the unknown (at least stateside) brother, Luke, revealed that Miley had won over the entire family’s hearts; but obviously, that was before all sorts of stuff went down in the Miley-Liam relationship … including but not limited to Liam getting busy with January Jones in the back of a car and perhaps continuing to see her to this very date.

So things have changed, and even though Miley and Liam have not “officially” broken things off with a press release, they also haven’t been photographed together in several months whereas they used to get papped all the time. Miley recently stated that they aren’t seen together because she’s so busy with her music, and Liam likes to go to the gym, or whatever. Of course, she wasn’t working while looking fabulous at the Met Gala a few nights ago, but Liam didn’t bother attending. Things certainly can’t be good between these two, and it seems that Liam is receiving some brotherly advice. Us Weekly claims an exclusive scoop on an a staged intervention on behalf of Chris and Luke, who have allegedly told Liam it’s time to end it with Miley. Here are the details:

Oh, brother! Liam Hemsworth’s actor siblings, Chris and Luke, were so fired up about the relationship between their little brother and fiancee Miley Cyrus, they staged an intervention with him in April.

“They want him to end the romance for good,” a source tells Us Weekly. And apparently their words have made an impact. The couple of nearly four years — who got engaged last June — recently stopped making wedding plans and have been spending plenty of time apart.

Take May 1: While the singer, 20, partied at Beacher’s Madhouse in L.A., the Hunger Games star, 23, hung out at Chateau Marmont. Though one source maintains the duo aren’t done, another insider adds, “Liam’s pulling away.”

I can believe that Chris and Luke sat Liam down and tried to hammer some common sense into him about his relationship. What I do find suspect is that I find it nearly impossible to believe that Liam’s brothers would sell him out to Us, but this report must be coming from someone very close to or inside the family unit. Could this tip have come from a source who previously talked to the press about Miley and Liam and may or may not have been warned not to go on record in the future on such matters? No, it can’t be. Right?

Miley Cyrus covers the June issue of V magazine with three different covers, and the first instance (shown above) features Miley well on the way to giving herself a front wedgie while sporting boy-cut underwear … although I suspect those would be some really cool boots if we could fully see them. Really, this photoshoot is kind of a nightmare from a PR standpoint. Don’t get me wrong, Miley’s face looks great, but she’s flashing some major crack (don’t worry, it’s blurred out) in one of the editorial shots, and this development comes hot on the heels of Miley’s judgy declaration in Elle UK that “A star is someone who doesn’t have to take her clothes off to be sexy because you naturally have star power.” Oops.

Meanwhile, Miley is still talking up her relationship with Liam in this interview, which leads me to believe that perhaps she gave a lot of publicity while she and Liam were still up in the air. Of course, they’re probably still undecided on the fate of their nuptuals (those crazy kids), but I’m of the opinion that they’re truly on the rocks and just can’t admit it to each other. As such, Miley is making a fool of herself taking about how wonderful her relationship with Liam really is (while he says nothing), and she insists that they just haven’t had the time for a photo op lately because she’s so busy being all about the music (as opposed to Liam being busy making repeat visits to January Jones’ house). Here are some interview excerpts:

On her love life: “I’m not home with my boyfriend all the time. We work. Every week it’s ‘Are they broken up?’ Because we don’t see a photo of them.’ I don’t have time go to Starbucks with my boyfriend every morning. I wish I did, but I don’t. I’d rather chill at my house and be there for the time I actually get to spend with him. And then I’m at the studio all day. He gets up to work out at six and I come home at five from the studio. I put this record before everything, and I’ve never done that with anything. I’ve put too much into this record to put anything else in front of it.”

On her new sound: “I can never say that I don’t love ‘Party in the U.S.A.’ and that I’m not appreciative of it. It would like my dad saying that he hated ‘Achy Breaky.’ It’s what gives you everything that you have. I would never take it back.”

On her changing style: “I’m going to change, I’m going to be different, I’m going to do what I want to do. I chopped my hair and bought a pair of Docs and never looked back.”

Poor Miley. And I’m not even saying that in a facetious manner — I truly think that she believes that her new music will take the entire world by storm when we all know that it will simply be a mediocre affair. Obviously, she and Liam are having problems, and she’s throwing herself into work. There’s nothing wrong with that, of course. Liam will show his true colors sooner or later, and Miley may as well make some headway before that happens. For the record, I hope she proves me wrong and makes some amazing music instead of merely showing her ass crack just like the pop stars that she makes fun of. Miley is better than that even if she doesn’t realize it.

Miley Cyrus covers the June issue of Elle UK, and the effect is rather underwhelming. Naturally, she’s sporting her newish punky hairdo here, and she’s dressed in Lanvin on the cover, but the shoot itself is pretty washed out with little effort on the part of stylists to refashion Miley as an adult pop star. Miley is a very pretty young woman who is clearly willing to push forth into daring new fashion territory, but I guess the magazine was feeling particularly uninspired. I don’t even know what to do with the “400 million people can’t be wrong…?” headline. What does that even mean in a Miley context?

As for the interview, what a mess. Clearly, the magazine spoke to Miley either before all of this Liam Hemsworth breakup drama or they caught her recently on a good day where she felt like wearing her ring. There’s no mention of Miley postponing her wedding or Liam Hemsworth repeatedly getting it on with January Jones. Instead, Miley talks up her strong relationship with Liam, and she stresses what a private person she is and how she never, ever overshares on Twitter. Right:

On being engaged to Liam: “We have a house together and dogs. It just seems right to be wearing this ring and to be committed. But we keep our relationship low-key and don’t talk about it any more.”

She’s such a private person now: “We were too nice to the world and gave them too much insight — into my life and my puppies and my house –- and I just don’t feel they get that privilege any more. Like on my Twitter, I’m much more . . . not conservative, but you don’t see a picture of my dogs. You don’t get that personal stuff any more.”

She’s more than just a hot bod: “A star is someone who doesn’t have to take her clothes off to be sexy because you naturally have star power. Sex does sell, but you have to find a way that’s not just showing your tits. I don’t want to be a glorified model. They just walk on stage and it’s all about their clothes — or lack of clothes.”

Hollywood is weird: “This isn’t like any other place. Everything is meant to be attractive, from the people on the sidewalks to the gold fire hydrants in Beverly Hills.”

On fame: “I feel like Rapunzel. Rapunzel with a mohawk!”

Oh Miley. Look, I don’t want to knock this girl since I have a feeling that there’s some genuine sh-t going on in her personal life, but does she even realize how hypocritical she sounds with the “privacy” lines while she continues to tweet nearly every aspect of her personal life? Like, she’s actually claiming in this interview that she no longer tweets photos of her dogs, yet she does so on a near weekly basis and as recently as April 26:

In other words, Miley is either blatantly lying about her quest for privacy, or she’s deluding herself about not sharing so much on Twitter. She’s still sharing all kinds of crap — and she may very well delete a lot of it, but she’s still got that unscratchable itch to shout everything to the world. If she were more honest about the topic, like say Rihanna (who admits that she enjoys the attention that her Twitpics bring), then it wouldn’t be such a big deal. But Miley wants to share her wonderful life with everyone all the time yet still claim that she covets her privacy. It just doesn’t wash.

Now back to this Elle UK photoshoot, which certainly isn’t terrible at all. It’s just kind of bland and could use some drama in the styling department.

Here’s some new photos of Liam Hemsworth doing exactly what the paps catch him doing all the time lately — leaving the gym. While I can certainly appreciate that the dude is into fitness, I’m not crazy about his new beardy look (like Kaiser is) these days. I like my Hemsworth brothers clean shaven, thank you very much. Basically, Kaiser can have Liam when he doesn’t use the razor, and I’ll take him on ther other days. Or if it comes down to it, I can just take Chris Hemsworth all the time. My little 5-year-old niece keeps announcing that she wants to marry Thor, and I just told her to get in line behind Aunt Bedhead.

Anyway, this is an update post about Liam and Miley Cyrus’ neverending drama, and I pretty much ignored Snoop Lion’s recent (stoned) declaration that the Miley-Liam situation is actually a “relationship that no longer exists” because I figure Snoop was stoned out of his mind during that interview. Also, I think a lot of people are suffering from Miley fatigue, and even though she might have actually told Snoop it was over, that might have just been a momentary thing. Like, Miley and Liam may just break up every other day, and it’s getting seriously old.

Now onto today’s topic, which is a new story from Star that alleges Liam is still hot and heavy with January Jones. This comes (sort of) hot on the heels of last week’s Enquirer story about Miley being enraged to discover that Liam is still texting January. Of course, Star was the first one to scrounge up a story about Liam and January making out at a party after those photos surfaced of them sharing a car ride. Now Star says that Liam is developing feelings for January and that Miley knows what’s going on, but she just thinks he’ll get over it and come back to her. Oh girl:

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s relationship has been hanging by a tread lately, and the engaged couple are in for a whole new wave of drama — because Liam, 23, is secretly dating January Jones! After being the first to reveal the pair’s secret hookup in February after being spotted leaving a pre-Oscars party together, Star has now learned that Liam’s dalliance with January, 35, has turned into a full-blown relationship!

According to an inside source, the Hunger Games actor has become a fixture at January’s L.A. home in recent weeks. “Liam is at January’s house all the time,” says the insider. “He brings her favorite wine, and they hook up. But while the “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks” singer may still be fantasizing about a wedding, Liam and January have developed strong feelings for each other. “Liam is interested in seeing where the relationship can go,” spills the pal. “January is doing her best to keep Liam around.” With Miley’s dad, Billy Ray, recently referring to his daughter and Liam as “really good friends,” the odds look like they are ever in January’s favor!

God, how long with this nonsense continue before Miley finally wakes up and pushes this dude out of her life? For her part, Miley is still continuing her claims that she’s all about the music but is also upping the stakes by saying she’s so super-focused in the studio now that she’s voluntarily pushing everyone away. If Miley is always in the studio as she claims, then why are we getting photos of her clubbing and smoking weed while pantless? All for music that isn’t even very good.

Now let’s get back to January, who has been looking quite pleased with herself lately, hasn’t she?

Miley Cyrus has been busy posting Twitter pics to her heart’s content in recent days even though she swore up and down that her account was only about the music now. You might notice in the above photo that Miley (who is kissing her hairdresser and not wearing her engagment ring, but whatever) is wearing a pair of tiny shorts that don’t even come close to covering her booty. Sure enough, the Mail has photos of Miley shopping while wearing these shorts, and her butt cheeks are totally hanging out for all to see. I get that Miley lets her booty do the talking as a means of attention, but this is just unsanitary and gross. Cover up the cheeks, Miley.

But enough of that — let’s get back to the music too, so to speak. Miley has just recently participated in some musical collaborations that are geared towards changing her image and getting people pumped up for her upcoming album. It’s not a bad idea, really. A few years ago when she tried to abruptly act sexy for her Can’t Be Tamed tour, everyone laughed at her obviousness in trying to break free from the Disney shackles, so easing into an adult image by teaming up with other artists is a pretty smart tactic. Also, Miley doesn’t possess a very strong or versatile singing voice, so riding on others’ coattails might help push her along a bit. The tactic has certainly helped Justin Timberlake, who managed to put out a ridiculously mundane new single (“Suit & Tie”) and album, but since he’s touring with Jay-Z, everything will turn out great for him in terms of dollars. In that same spirit, Miley has just been featured in Will.i.am’s new single, “Fall Down,” and here’s an audio-only clip of the song:

It’s not that great, right? Miley sounds completly autotuned, and her lyrics are pretty dumb: “Boy you’re like an elevator ’cause you always pick me up / boy you’re like my doctor when I’m sick you always stitch me up / You could be my DJ I’m your record come and mix me up / boy just be my lollipop lemme lemme lick you up.” Still, this is the same kind of mindless crap that will end up on Top 40 lists and play on repeat at my gym for months.

In addition to the above example of mediocrity, Miley has also recorded a single (it’s a few weeks old by now) called “Ashtrays & Heartbreaks” (which as a song title reminds me a whole lot of Tissues & Issues, Charlotte Church’s ill-fated attempt to establish herself as an adult pop star in the UK) with Snoop Dogg/Lion, and it’s … not very good at all. Give it a listen if you so dare.

Oh, and one more thing. Miley tweeted this photo that came from a new “Family Guy” episode, and apparently Stewie Griffin is using Liam Hemsworth’s photo for his passport. Nice touch, and I guess this means that Liam and Miley are still banging even though they probably postponed their wedding. Good for her, I guess.

The Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth “are they or aren’t they?” affair is truly becoming a bit tedious, but the tabloids aren’t done with this couple just yet. Nobody really seems to know what’s going on with Liam and Miley, and even Billy Ray Cyrus has admitted that he doesn’t know what the hell is happening. All we really know for sure is that Liam took a solo vacation in Australia to get away from things after he and January Jones supposedly made out at a pre-Oscar party. Then Miley played the ring game for awhile and Liam eventually returned to Los Angeles where they were trying to work it out, whatever that means.

Most recently, Life & Style published a story about how Liam and Miley had (at the very least) postponed their wedding, and People received the official publicist confirmation yesterday that this part of the story is true. Now a story in this week’s Enquirer says that Miley found some new texts between Liam and January, and she’s absolutely livid as a result. Here are the details:

Miley Cyrus caught fiance Liam Hemworth texting “Mad Men” siren January Jones, and now she’s telling pals they’re kaput, say sources. “Miley couldn’t believe it!” an insider told The Enquirer. “As if the embarrassment over Liam’s fling with January wasn’t bad enough, to find out that he’s still in touch with her is pretty much the nail in the coffin as far as their relationship is concerned.”

Miley, 20, and the Hunger Games hunk fell in love while filming the 2010 drama The Last Song. But they hit a rough patch after Liam, 23, was spotted leaving an Oscar party with Jones, 35, in February. The two were reportedly seen “making out,” and Miley was so enraged that Liam fled to his native Australia for three weeks in hopes that she would cool off.

Despite a brief reunion upon his return, things have gone from bad to worse for the couple. Miley has been flirting up a storm with her ex Nick Jonas and model Patrick Schwarzenegger. She was also spotted smoking a suspicious-looking cigarette on a hotel balcony in Miami, where she partied hard at hip-hop mogul Pharrel Williams’ birthday bash.

Meanwhile, Liam cozied up to a mystery blonde in a Los Angeles bar on the same weekend. Added the source: “Miley has been telling pals that Liam is no longer interested in even trying to talk things through, and now she knows why. At least she found out about his roving eye before they tied the knot.”

I hate to say it, but it doesn’t sound entirely implausible that Liam would still be in surreptitious contact with January. They obviously are comfortable enough to (at minimum) share a car ride home from a party, so they’ve almost certainly got each other’s digits.

That’s not all of the tabloid fun for Miley this week. This week’s issue of Star says that Miley is “guilting” Liam into sticking around by “deliberately acting out of control because she knows that he’ll come “rushing in to save her. He has the kindest heart, and Miley knows he can’t turn away if he thinks she needs help.” I don’t know if Miley and her pantless pot smoking are really going to bring Liam running to “rescue” her. These two haven’t been photographed together in months, and she didn’t even go to the MTV Movie Awards with him last weekend. One would think that if they were still a solid couple, Miley would want to show everyone what she’s got. That hasn’t happened.

Good God!!! What is going on lately? This is like the second Liam Hemsworth photo set that I’ve seen within a month where I’m like, “Oh, yeah. I would hit that in a heartbeat.” I hate that I’ve become so easily swayed into the ways of the Hemsworth boys. Personally, I like looking at photos of Chris Hemsworth’s guns, especially when he’s holding his daughter, but I could kind of take or leave him. He’s not part of personal Dongporium Crush Pile. But I really think Liam might be a contender for the Dongporium, right? RIGHT?!!?

So these are new photos of Liam in West Hollywood on Monday, going out to his gym. He’s so beardy and delicious. God, how old is he? I feel so dirty right now. He’s 23 years old. It’s totally legal, and maybe I could stretch and call it appropriate too, but seriously, that is much, much too young for me. And I feel like a dirty old lady for ogling these photos of his flesh. His lovely shoulders. His badass arms. His beautifully well-formed, muscular legs. The beard really gives him something extra, right? Damn. This boy is quality beefcake.

You know what sucks even more now? Now I totally get why Miley Cyrus is so confused/weird/crazy right now and why this whole engagement thing is such a mess. Seriously, if you’ve been getting Liam-Dong on the regular for the past three years, you would be confused too. This is her first real, serious boyfriend. And let’s face it, she’s probably not going to do better than this (at least as far as looks go). So even though Liam may or may not be a cheater (I’m pretty sure he is), and even though their wedding is probably postponed indefinitely, I doubt Miley wants to let him go. If you were 19/20 years old and you had been hittin’ this for three years, you would be confused too. God.

PS… Billy Ray Cyrus has no idea if they’ll get married either. The Mullet is confused by Liam’s beefcake as well.

These are photos of Miley Cyrus last weekend in Miami after she smoked pot on her hotel balcony. Miley, who is only 20 years old, was leaving the (over 21) Cameo nightclub at 5:00 am. Despite her very young age, I have no idea how she was able to dance and party until that hour because that’s something I’ve never been able to manage, but I imagine she doesn’t usually have to get up too early in the morning, so I guess it works for her, and it’s not like she does it every night.

Despite all the drama involved with Miley and Liam Hemsworth, it looks like they are still together, and I agree with Kaiser when she guessed that there are still problems in the relationship. We also heard that Liam allegedly asked Miley for an open relationship, and Billy Ray Cyrus has supposedly told Miley not to marry Liam or he’ll boycott the wedding. Now we’re hearing from someone on Liam’s side of the family, sort of. Life & Style has published a story that claims Miley and Liam have wisely postponed their impending nuptuals (which were supposedly set to take place this summer), and the tabloid asked Elsa Pataky about it. Instead of going with “No comment,” Elsa actually said something. It’s not like she said anything awful, but it’s still funny that she didn’t shut the question down immediately. Here’s the story:

Life & Style has learned that Miley’s plans to wed her fiance during a springtime wedding in Palm Springs, Calif., have come to a halt. “They were supposed to get married in June,” an insider reveals in the new issue of Life & Style, on newsstands now. “But there have been so many problems with them, they thought it was best to work out their issues before making such a big commitment.”

Even Liam’s family is questioning if his wedding to Miley will happen. “I don’t know,” actress Elsa Pataky, Chris Hemsworth’s wife, answered on April 8, when Life & Style asked whether the wedding would go on. “If they get married, it would be nice to go [to their wedding."]

Though the two are still a couple, their relationship was tested when Liam, 23, shared a passionate lip-lock with Mad Men star January Jones after a pre-Oscar bash back in February.

Miley, 20, was recently seen partying into the wee hours on April 5 for rapper Pharrell Williams’ 40th birthday at LIV in Miami while Liam stepped out solo for an afternoon workout in LA.

“They aren’t ready,” says the insider of their somewhat separate lives. “Their families are both concerned. They don’t want to see Miley and Liam get married and then get divorced,” adding, “They’re very young to be getting married.”

Liam and Miley began dating in 2009 after meeting on set of their film The Last Song. They dated on-and-off for three years before announcing their engagement in June 2012.

Oh man. I have nothing against Elsa, but she’s probably going to hear from Chris about this, right? He’ll probably get a call from Liam, and poor Chris is going to have to say, “Honey, please keep your mouth shut.” I’m sure that Life & Style were very aggressive with their questioning, and they probably bombarded her on the red carpet at the Oceana Ball in NYC since the timeline matches perfectly. Still, she’s not even truly related to Liam, so it looks bad. Even if she was a blood relative, it would still be a case of, “Shhhhhh!”

As for this story, who knows whether or not it is true that Miley and Liam decided to wait awhile before tying the knot, but I hope that’s really what’s happening between them. Waiting at least another year or so is the smartest thing they can do right now.
