At this point, I doubt Miley Cyrus even cares. People Magazine confirms that Miley and Liam Hemsworth have broken up yet again, after doing the breakup-back together crap a few months ago. He’s been in Australia for the past week or so, and he’s been photographed with various Aussie girls, and there are rumors that his family has become very anti-Cyrus. For Miley’s part, she’s got mama drama as Tish bangs her way through the hair bands of the 80s. So… yeah, Miley and Liam were in “different places”. Here’s more about the breakup from People:

It’s been a rough week for Miley Cyrus. As her parents Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus go through a public divorce, Miley also underwent a quiet split of her own.

Miley, who turns 18 on Nov. 23, is no longer dating her Last Song costar Liam Hemsworth, 20, according to a source. “Their on- and off-again relationship is currently off,” says the source. “But you never know with Miley and Liam. They could be back on at some point.”

Adds another source close to Hemsworth: “There was no drama. The relationship just ran its course. They were good friends first and remain friends.”

The pair met while filming the Last Song in June, 2009. They first split this past August only to rekindle their romance in September.

But lately the two have been living separate lives: Hemsworth has been in Australia, where he hosted the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and has been spending time with his family. Miley is currently in Madrid, preparing to perform at the MTV European Music Awards Sunday.

My immediate thought was that this is just kind of relationship and family chaos that a Britney/Lindsay situation is born. You know when I think Britney really began to go off the rails? It was the breakup with Justin Timberlake, and his “selling her out” in a national interview. When did Lindsay Lohan go off the rails? When she was Miley’s age and she was making all the money and she was living by herself in the Marmont, and her parents had crazy drama. Roll up those stories and take a hard look at Miley. A few months ago there was a lot of drama about Miley and Liam splitting up, and maybe he was cheatin’ and maybe Miley was too, and it was all very teenage and dumb. And then a few weeks later, they got back together. And now they’re preparin’ to get hitched, y’all! The worst part of the story (and the part that I really, really believe): Billy Ray is so excited! He can’t wait for his 17-year-old daughter to walk down the aisle. He thought he was going to have to trade ‘er in for a virgin cow.

Holy underage nuptials, Hannah Montana! MILEY CYRUS is not only back together with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, they’re headed to the altar, say sources. What’s more, 17-year-old Miley’s proud papa Billy Ray Cyrus is thrilled, confide insiders.

“Billy Ray is all for the wedding…once she turns 18,” revealed a source close to the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer. “He thinks the world of Liam and sees a lot of himself in him. They’re both extremely protective of Miley – and they both have her best interests at heart.”

The happy pair are talking about a spring 2011 wedding, sources tell The ENQUIRER. The Aussie actor is 20, and Miley turns 18 on Nov. 23. The couple, who co-starred in the movie “The Last Song,” had split briefly earlier this year. But Miley, who was devastated by the breakup, begged Liam to come back to her…and doting dad Billy Ray got in on the act.

“A lot of people thought that somehow Billy Ray had gotten between Liam and Miley,” said the source. “That couldn’t have been further from the truth. Billy Ray wanted Liam to get back with his daughter almost as much as she did.”

Of course, it doesn’t really matter what The Mullet has to say about any of this. Miley is the one in charge of everything in that household, so if she wants to get married, she’s gonna, y’all. I want to think Miley is smarter than this, but she’s probably not. This probably is her plan. And it’s going to be a catastrophe, y’all.

A few weeks ago, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth officially broke up. Liam’s rep confirmed as much to Gossip Cop, and there were a few days in which Liam’s “side” and Miley’s “side” vied to tell their breakup story to the press – either Miley dumped Liam over fears (or knowledge) of Liam’s cheating, or Liam dumped Miley because she’s crazy and he was tired of being with such a high-profile girl. Since their split, Miley has been living it up, looking mysteriously puffy, waxy and Botoxy in NYC, then going clubbing in Paris. Meanwhile, Liam seems to be kind of quiet, although there were some paparazzi photos of him several days ago where it looked like Liam pap’d himself.

Anyway, Miley and Liam were spotted out together yesterday, Saturday, September 11th. Love amongst the ruins? Eh. Fame Pictures notes that Miley and Liam seemed “on again” - but I’m really hoping that this is just The Last Conversation, you know? The one where they talk about their feelings and there are tears and accusations, and maybe some goodbye sex, and then more tears and Liam gathers up all of his crap from Miley’s house and as she hears him shut the door, she puts on Coldplay, lights a candle and curls up in their sex sheets. Sob.

Of course, they could just be back together. They’re so young! I wasn’t thinking that they would do this on-again-off-again bullsh-t, but they might. Who knows?

Back in June, The National Enquirer and other tabloids began reporting that Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus had broken up – and that Liam was the one who was tired of Miley’s drama, etc. Within hours, Miley had issued a denial and the next day, Miley trotted (heh) Liam out for a forced-looking photo op. At the time, I thought they were dumb kids, but they were still together – for the time being. Well, it’s looking like it really is O-V-E-R now. Gossip Cop broke the story late Wednesday that Liam and Miley split “pretty recently.” Liam’s rep confirmed it, and Liam’s friend tells the site that Hemsworth is completely “single.” Miley and Liam were together for more than a year… I’m thinking they were together for something like 15 or 16 months…? Pretty good run for such a young couple, in my opinion. Us Weekly has more:

Miley Cyrus is back on the market. The teen queen, 17, has split with Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth, Hemsworth rep tells UsMagazine.com. (Cyrus’ rep had no comment.)

The two met in 2009 on the set of The Last Song, based on the Nicholas Sparks novel.
This past March, she told Ellen DeGeneres when she was first introduced to Hemsworth, 20, she didn’t think anything of it.

“I was actually going through a tough time,” she said. “I was like, guys just need to be out of my life for a little while. [I thought] ‘I just need to alone.’”

“But I met him, and he opened the door for me, and I was like, I have been in L.A. for three years and I don’t think any guy has actually opened the door for me,” she went on. “It wasn’t that he wanted the job. That’s just who he is. I was like, ‘Wow, that is super-impressive.’ I actually turned to the director and said, ‘He’s got the job.’ He’s hot and he opened the door. Excellent.”

At the March 25 L.A. premiere of Last Song, he told Us they had “a lot of fun” filming the romantic drama.

“It was pretty much jokes every day,” he said. “Jokes and shooting on the beach — there wasn’t much to complain about!”

The same month, she gushed to Parade: “[Liam has] become my best friend in the whole wide world. I love him. He really respects me for who I am because coming from Australia, he really didn’t know me as the celebrity I am here. I got to tell him about myself on my own terms and my own way. He had no preconceived notion of who I was supposed to be.”

In June, she took to her website to deny rumors that they’ve called it quits. On her website, she told fans: “Just wanna clear up a rumor. Liam [Hemsworth] and I did not break. EVER! We are so happy and a lot of that has to do with the amazing relationship he has with my family.”

You know what? I actually think it’s totally mean and cruel to throw all of those quotes up from Miley – we get it, you know? She was (and is) a dumb kid who overshared about her “love” because she was all of 16 years old. Give her a break! And I also think that in reality, Liam did the dumping. Miley’s reps aren’t saying anything, which means that she doesn’t know what to say. Which means (to me) that she’s probably devastated. I feel for her! Go ahead, Miley. Have a good cry, eat some ice cream and take a vacation. They come back and chomp your way through an honest yet heartbreaking interview-slash-a cappella performance of “Every Rose Has a Thorn”. UPDATE: Oooh… Ted Casablanca (eh) at E! News is basically saying that Miley dumped Liam because she’s so focused on work right now and Liam is a “distraction,” AND because Liam has been screwing around on her. Casablanca sites some sources who claim that in early August, Liam cheated on Miley and then went to Michigan (where she’s filming LOL), but only stayed for 24 hours. Ted is really pushing the “Miley dumped Liam” angle.

Several weeks ago there were widely circulated reports that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth had broken up. Some said that Liam was jealous of Miley’s career. Some said she was jealous of anything that took him away from being at her side 24 hours a day. Some said Liam was frightened of Miley’s family. Anyway, it was nothing. Miley announced on her website that they hadn’t broken up, and Liam has even been at her side for the past week as she does more promotion for her album. The Enquirer has a theory about why Liam and Miley are back together (if they ever were broken up) – they think that Billy Ray Cyrus “begged” Liam to not only come back to Miley, but to move back into his 17-year-old daughter’s LA home. The Mullet’s reasoning? Miley is out of control, and she needs a babysitter, so why not her 20-year-old boyfriend?

Miley Cyrus’ father Billy Ray has begged Liam Hemsworth to move back in with Miley – because Billy Ray thinks his out-of-control 17-year-old daughter needs a babysitter!

Billy Ray initially disapproved when Miley moved 20-year-old Liam into her LA home, but after her latest shocking antics, he’s reconsidered.

In mid-May, video of Miley giving a 44-year-old producer a lap dance surfaces. Then there were widespread reports that Miley was photographed wearing a short dress without panties. And on June 5, at London’s G-A-Y nightclub, she made out with a female dancer, and did the same thing the next night in Spain. Plus, she’s started showing even more skin in various stage shows, and she got a tattoo on her ear.

“Some of this was calculated,” a source told The Enquirer. “But there’s no denying Miley’s got a wild streak.”

And her parents are terrified about what is yet to come. As The Enquirer recently reported, Miley and Liam parted ways about a month ago over personal and career jealousies.

“But now Billy Ray sees that Miley needs all the supervision possible, and he’s begged Liam to go back to Miley… he’s at his wit’s end as to how to rein her in.”

Both of Miley’s parents “recognize Liam has a calming influence on their daughter… Bully Ray was relieved when Liam agreed to move back in. He’s hoping a steady, stable boyfriend will stop Miley’s impulsive behavior.”

I don’t really think Miley and Liam ever broke up, honestly. Sidenote: I just screwed up their names while I was typing and it came out “Limey”. HA! Anyhoodle, here’s a scary thought for The Mullet: if Miley was acting like this while she had a boyfriend, what makes you think she’s ever going to be easy to handle, ever? While Liam does seem like a stable force in Miley’s life, it’s young love and it’s not going to last, and Miley has no idea how to be in a relationship of equals. Tragedy is coming, I fear.

Also, just another side note – without the vadge-flasher leotards and the face full of makeup, Miley looks about 12 years old. She really is just a kid, by God. Also – she has glitter on her boobs in the last pic.

Miley Cyrus’ wild, budget, girl-on-girl European adventure is over, and now she’s back stateside. And that means it’s time to clean up those nasty rumors that she and Liam Hemsworth broke up. Even though Miley posted a detailed denial on her blog, she just had to force Liam out for an awkward staged photo op. Now, do I know for sure that this is staged, or as awkward as it seems? Of course not. But the body language is interesting, right? My opinion: Liam is over this sh-t. And he has good reason to be. Miley has literally no idea how to be in a serious relationship. It took a few days for her interview with Graham Norton to come out, but when it did… my God. This girl is trying to systematically emasculate poor Liam. Here’s the video and a limited transcript:

At first she claims that Liam sent her flowers, saying, “I actually got flowers sent to my hotel this morning, and I was really excited. It was the first time he, like, ever sent me flowers on the road.” Then Norton asks her if she’s getting married, and she makes this weird face and says “UH NO”. Norton recommends she get hitched because “it’s as good as it’s gonna get.” Then they joke around about engagement rings, and Miley tells Usher that he should call Liam and “tell him what to buy because his taste is a little odd…” Then she goes off on how Liam is a bad dresses, and how her gay friend is “way cuter and WAY more fun and wants to do everything I want to do.” Ugh, then marry the gay dude, Miley. She has no idea how to be in a relationship. She’s always the star, it’s always about HER.

Apparently, Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend of a year, Liam Hemsworth, have broken up. It’s being widely reported at this point, and I tried to trace back where the stories had come from, because no matter what you read, this split hasn’t been “confirmed” yet. I think this is all coming from the new issue of the National Enquirer – most sources trace back there. Here’s a compilation of the story:

Miley Cyrus is reportedly single again. The teen star is said to have split from her hunk of boyfriend Liam Hemsworth following a huge argument at her Los Angeles home.

The stars, who met on the set of their film The Last Song in 2009, were allegedly living together at the singer/actress’ new mansion in Toluca Lake but Hemsworth is said to have moved his belongings out following a fight last month.

Cyrus apparently grew jealous of Liam’s success after he landed a top role opposite Sir Anthony Hopkins in the forthcoming Arabian Nights.

“The result was a vicious fight — and Liam bolted,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer. “He said he’s tired of her folks’ interference, and that Miley’s jealous that his film career has taken off.”

Liam — who was living with Miley at her new mansion in Toluca Lake — didn’t show up to the “Hannah Montana” wrap party and a few days later, moved back in with his brother Chris at the Hollywood apartment they previously shared.

And Cyrus herself appears to have confirmed the romance is on hiatus – when asked by the tabloid about their relationship status, she is quoted as saying, “(We) are on a break.”

The insider adds, “Miley, her family and all her baggage are too much for him to handle.”

Do I buy that they broke up? Sure. I think Miley is probably high maintenance and very-self-involved, and Miley seemed to have zero clue about how naïve she sounded when she started telling journalists that she and Liam were “deeper” than everybody else. I’ll also buy that Liam was probably totally scared off by the Cyrus family. Wouldn’t you? I mean… Trace Cyrus… Billy Ray… Noah… Tish. That family is all kinds of wrong. As for Miley allegedly throwing a hissy fit over Liam’s career… can you see it? Sort of. For all of her big talk about changing and growing up, she’s still a little brat sometimes/most of the time. I can see her being all “You can’t go and work on that film, you’re supposed to be with me!!! All. The. Time!”

However, this does throw her recent comments about Nick Jonas into question – CB reported on Tuesday that Miley had told an audience in reference to one of her super-cool songs, “It’s about two people… They’re always gonna come back together no matter what anyone says or the bad people that try to keep you apart. Surprise surprise, it’s about a Jonas brother…you didn’t hear that.” Yeah… it sounds like Miley wants a little rebound Jonas ass.

Oh, and I bet Billy Ray is thrilled! For real. He hated Liam. Next, The Mullet is going to get Miley to go back on Twitter!

Yesterday, we heard about Miley Cyrus’s new home, just minutes away from her parents’ house in California. Miley talked about how cool it was going to be to live on her own, and how her mom was going to decorate everything, and how her new “Zen” pad would be open to all. I theorized that once Miley was ensconced in her new bachelorette pad, she would quickly move in boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. She’s in love, y’all, and by all accounts, the Cyrus family already allows Liam to spend the night in the family home. Anyway, it looks like things just got a tad more complicated – OK Magazine is reporting that Miley has her heart set on marrying Liam, not just shacking up with him:

Miley Cyrus is so in love with co-star Liam Hemsworth that she’s planning to marry him — even though she’s only known him 10 months!

“She’s convinced she’ll spend the rest of her life with him,” says a source about the teenager’s surprising determination to get married this year. “She’s talking about a wedding as soon as she turns 18. She’s even asked her mom if she can wear her wedding dress.”

“He is awesome,” Miley gushed about her 20-year-old beau during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “We hang out almost every day. He’s almost become like my best friend.”

In fact, she’s so serious about Liam that she even flew out to Australia to meet his family and Liam’s met the Cyrus clan too!

“The whole family are great,” he tells OK!. “They’re really good people.”

But is their relationship too much, too soon?

I want to believe that Miley isn’t the girl who meets a dude at the age of 17 and starts talking about getting married. But she could be. I can’t see how Liam would agree to it though – he seems to have a pretty decent head on his shoulders (sort of… I mean, he‘s dating Miley after all), and I would guess he could talk Miley down.

In one other piece of Miley news, it seems Miley is going to be working with Demi Moore on this horrible film project called LOL. Demi tweeted the news (of course) this morning, writing “Starting a film in July with Miley called LOL… Remake with the same director.” Apparently, LOL was a French film (directed by Lisa Azuelos) starring Sophie Marceau as a mom dealing with lots of issues with her daughter. So, Demi is playing Miley’s mom. Ridiculous. They look nothing alike.

Last night was the big premiere of The Last Song, the weepy, wrought family drama/teen romance film starring Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. I have to give it to Miley, she actually looked really nice and sweet for the premiere. Even though that dress is mostly leather. But it’s a good cut! And she looks covered up and pretty, so I forgive the leather. Liam looked handsome too. They actually looked like…(gasp)… a very attractive young couple who “dressed up” in a classy way for a professional event. Well done!

Before I get to the other people at the premiere, I just wanted to share this new Miley Cyrus interview from The Telegraph. I’ve noted in the past few weeks that it seems like Miley is maturing in a really interesting, unpredictable way. Her interviews as of late have been remarkably candid, honest and interesting. However, she’s still the girl who owns dozens of pairs of booty shorts, talks like she’s mid gum-smack, and in the words of The Telegraph writer, “She talks quickly in a deep, husky voice and opinions, thoughts and ideas tumble from her, liberally interspersed with “likes” and “you knows.”” This piece had some good quotes (full piece here):

On the scandals that have surrounded her: “Every career thing I do can’t be perfect and sometimes my decisions are wrong,” she admitted frankly. “I always say the minute I stop making mistakes is the minute I stop learning and I’ve definitely learned a lot. When you’re a pop star or whatever you always have ‘people.’ You always hear, ‘my people will call your people’ but you can’t let your people talk for you all the time because you’re the only person who knows yourself and what you truly want.”

On Liam Hemsworth: “He’s a 6ft 4in tall Australian surfer and I’m 5ft 4in from Tennessee and I couldn’t surf if someone gave me ten million dollars so we couldn’t be more opposite,” she laughed. “But I went to Australia to visit him and his family and I was like, ‘Omigosh, this looks like Nashville.’ There were like cows everywhere. I am like, ‘how are you from the opposite side of the planet and your world looks just like mine?’ My dad’s just happy that I have something going on in my life with someone normal. No psychos, so that’s good.” She chuckles throatily.

On the end of Hannah Montana: “We’re halfway into the last season and it’s kind of bittersweet for me,” said Miley. “It’s like my security blanket, my comfort zone: I know that’s where I’m going to be from 8.30am to 6pm. I’ve always had the show to lean on, and to not have it to lean on in the future will be different for me, so who knows?”

On filming The Last Song: “It came up at a crazy time because I had a tour, I was working on the show and I thought it might be impossible to fit it in, but it all fell into place. It was perfect, because that’s what this movie’s about: things coming together so beautifully against all odds.”

On needing acting lessons: “I’ve not taken like acting lessons or anything but it doesn’t mean I don’t need to because I’m sure I do,” she said. “Once I watch this film in the theatre I’m probably going to go book an acting coach.”

On her career choices from here: “I’m kind of bipolar in my acting choices because I just want to do a little bit of everything,” she said. “One day I’m telling my mom, you know, I want to do an action movie and then I want to be doing comedy and then all different types of things. I get a little bored so hopefully I’ll get a chance to do a little bit of everything.”

See? I’m finding it harder not to like her. While I’ve never really gathered an opinion of Miley as an actress beyond “annoying” or “meh,” I like that she’s coming out ahead of the potential criticism of her acting chops and being honest about maybe needing a coach. Of course, if she’s still pulling that line three years from now, it will start to be not so cute and not so refreshing. So I hope Miley sticks by it and actually begins to take her “craft” seriously.

Beyond Miley and Liam, there were lots of other interesting people at the premiere. There was Greg Kinnear and his shameface at being in a Miley movie, there was John Travolta and Kelly Preston (who is in the movie). Sidenote: Do you think Miley is being recruited for Xenu? Miley Cyrus gave a new interview to promote The Last Song, and she’s still talking about how “deep” her relationship is with boyfriend and costar Liam Hemsworth. Previously, Miley said that “I think we’re both deeper than normal people—what they think and how they feel. He’s very grateful for what he has, but he doesn’t let it go to his head. I’m like that too.” Spoken like a 17-year-old in love, right? Well, we’ve got more of it now, although I’m finding this interview so much more interesting than that stupid Teen Vogue one. Now the cat is out of the bag about Miley Cyrus‘ romance with The Last Song co-star Liam Hemsworth, the teen star can’t stop talking about their “deep connection”.

She rang into the Johnjay and Rich show on KIIS FM in Phoenix, Arizona on Thursday morning and talked about going public with her relationship [via Radar Online].

“Everyone knew we were dating,” she said. “I mean, who flies to Australia just to visit with a ‘friend’?”

Although she denies that the Aussie hunk is living with her, she described their bond as a “deep connection” that is “deeper” than most people.

So what does she love about him? He has his own career and isn’t using her for fame. “I feel like I’ve been with people before, both in the public eye and out of the public eye, that may need something from me,” Miley said.

“He’s not like that. He was already successful, he was already cast in the movie, he didn’t need me for that. He doesn’t need me to make him famous. He’s got his career and his goals and that’s awesome.”

Mentioning her Oscars flub, Miley said that she hadn’t been nervous before going on stage but co-presenter Amanda Seyfried, “got me freaked out” and she said that also just before stepping on stage Oscar producer, Adam Shankman, unnerved her by telling her, “Add personality to it!”

Miley said that she’s “super stoked” about The Last Song and that she hopes “for the first time people will take me seriously” but if they don’t she’s “ready for the ups and downs, I’m so excited, no-one can take that away from me.”

She added: “I may not be the best singer in the world, but I don’t lip synch, I’m honest. I’m honest in acting too – I’m going to chose roles I like. I’m doing what I like, people that are dogging me probably aren’t which is why they’re down on me., I want to tell them ‘go get a hobby!’”

It’s not that I find Miley’s sentiments so profound in general, but I do find them profound because they’re coming out of Miley, The Girl Sold To Disney. You know what I’m saying? Her father pretty much encouraged Disney (and many other entities) to build a billion-dollar corporation around his young daughter, and Billy Ray and Disney (and many others) have been profiting from her for years. Miley probably can’t remember a time when she wasn’t the breadwinner of her family, when she had a relationship that wasn’t based on a combination of money-seeking and fame-seeking behavior, both corporate and familial. Miley says: “I feel like I’ve been with people before, both in the public eye and out of the public eye, that may need something from me. He’s not like that. He was already successful… He doesn’t need me to make him famous. He’s got his career and his goals and that’s awesome.” I think it’s kind of incredible that Miley is this cognizant of her own fame, her own family, the position she’s been put in by her Disney and the corporation that surrounds her. And she must love that she’s got someone in her life that isn’t asking for anything but her. Well done, Miley.
