PETA calls for a Liam Neeson boycott after Liam admits to eating wolf stew

PETA might have gone too far. Yes, they frequently go too far with their stunt-queen theatrics, but now they’re picking on one of our most beloved (Muslim) actors, Liam Neeson. While promoting his latest film, The Grey, overseas, Liam mentioned that he had tried wolf meat. This caused PETA to basically issue a fatwa against Liam and The Grey – which if you don’t know by now, is a film about Liam doing hand-to-hand combat with some wolves or something.

Liam Neeson’s latest movie is facing a boycott after the actor admitted eating wolf stew to prepare for the role. The Irish actor has the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals up in arms over his method acting for The Grey in which he plays the leader of a group being hunted by wolves after their plane crashes in the Arctic.

“It was very gamey,” he said while promoting the hit movie. “But I’m Irish, so I’m used to odd stews. I can take it. Just throw a lot of carrots and onions in there and I’ll call it dinner.”

Neeson, 59, further infuriated PETA by saying that while others got sick he “went up for seconds.”

In a statement, the animal rights group said: “Neeson’s stance on kindness to animals is sorely out of step with the rest of the world.”

They then urged movie-goers: “Don’t just shy away. Run away from The Grey.”

While most of the wolf scenes were shot using special effects, PETA claims the film’s director, Joe Carnahan, ordered wolf carcasses from a trapper for some of the footage.

“Many animals caught in traps chew off their own limbs in order to escape,” said Jane Dollinger, a spokeswoman for PETA. “These animals go on to die of gangrene or other secondary infections, sometimes leaving nursing puppies abandoned to fend for themselves.”

Despite the outrage The Grey has been a box office hit. The film’s producers declined to comment on the protests.

[From Radar]

Wait, so is PETA mad that some real wolf carcasses were used in the film, or were they mad about Liam eating wolf meat? Or both? I kind of think PETA should have just focused on the wolf carcass issue, because that’s a seemingly more valid argument. If you tell me about wolves having to chew off their own legs, I’ll get upset. If you tell me Liam Neeson ate two helpings of wolf stew, I’ll shrug.

Liam Neeson is considering a conversion to Islam after trip to Istanbul

Liam Neeson has the voice, bearing, conscience and heart of a holy man, in my opinion. I could easily see him, in another world, being a parish priest, a bishop, or God knows, even the most rough-and-tumble pope ever. Liam was raised as a strict Roman-Catholic, but it’s believed that his faith in the Catholic church has dwindled over the years, and perhaps even faltered completely following the death of his much beloved wife Natasha Richardson. GAH – I just completely lost focus when I went back and re-read Liam’s interview with Esquire last year, when he talked at length about Natasha. Anyway, Liam was recently filming in Istanbul, Turkey, and while he was enjoying the location, he found himself incredibly moved by the daily calls to prayer. And now he’s thinking of converting?

He may have been named after the local priest in his Irish hometown but Liam Neeson could be leaving his Roman Catholic beliefs behind. The 59-year-old actor is said to be considering converting to Islam following a working trip to Istanbul.

According to The Sun, Neeson admitted that Islamic prayer ‘got into his spirit’ while he was filming in Turkey.

‘The call to prayer happens five times a day, and for the first week, it drives you crazy, and then it just gets into your spirit, and it’s the most beautiful, beautiful thing,’ he said.

‘There are 4,000 mosques in the city. Some are just stunning, and it really makes me think about becoming a Muslim.’

Neeson was raised in Northern Ireland as a devout Roman Catholic due to his parents beliefs.

However, the Taken star has recently spoken about his opinion towards religion.

‘I was reared a Catholic, but I think every day we ask ourselves, not consciously, what are we doing on this planet? What’s it all about?’ he said. ‘I’m constantly reading books on God or the absence of God and atheism.’

The actor was criticised in 2010 after claiming The Chronicles Of Narnia lion, Aslan, who he provided the voice for in the film, was not based on Christ as CS Lewis had claimed but in fact all spiritual leaders including Mohammed.

[From The Mail]

I think he’s just talking, you know? He’s not like, “I listened to the prayers and I found Allah!” He’s just interested, as a student of religion, as a citizen of the world. He’s not confined by his Catholic upbringing and he seems to be encouraging the peaceful study of all religions. Or, whatever, he’s now a Muslim. What would the world look like if Liam Neeson converted to Islam?

Liam Neeson vacations with his 30-something girlfriend in St. Tropez

fp_7627706_chp_neeson_liam_00_09

Last year, it seemed like Liam Neeson got himself a new girlfriend. She was identified as a 36-year-old businesswoman named Freya St. Johnston, and it seemed like Liam’s first (and only) relationship since Natasha Richardson’s death in 2009, nearly two and a half years ago. I think this is Freya in these new photos – but I’m not 100% positive. If you go here, you can see photos of Freya and Liam last year. I think this is the same woman, and I think the young boy in the pictures is her son from a previous relationship. They were photographed – Freya, her son and Liam – in St. Tropez on Wednesday, where they’re apparently on vacation.

Freya and Liam went public in September of last year, and back in April of this year, the Enquirer reported that they have gotten quietly engaged. I judged both of them a little bit, just because from what little I know about Freya, she seems… I don’t know, unworthy of someone as cool as Liam. But then I remembered that Liam gave that absolutely heartbreaking Esquire interview, and so now I just want him to be happy. He looks pretty content in these pics – and if go here, you can see photos of Liam and Freya kissing for the paps.

Liam Neeson’s cameo was cut from Hangover 2, boo!

wenn3128019

Last fall, there was a major controversy when Mel Gibson was hired for a brief cameo in The Hangover 2. Director Todd Phillips had thought that Mel’s involvement was going to be something fun and silly, like Mike Tyson’s extended cameo in the first Hangover. But when Mel’s casting was announced, several cast and crew members revolted. Zach Galifianakis even went public with his dislike of Mel’s casting, and it’s believed that Bradley Cooper had words with Todd Phillips as well. What made the story especially awesome was that at the last minute, Bradley organized his A-Team costar Liam Neeson to take over the cameo role. Liam was said to be thrilled to fly to Bangkok and film for a day or two – but now it seems his cameo was left on the cutting room floor:

The replacement has been replaced. Liam Neeson, who stepped in to film a cameo in The Hangover 2 for a role first given to – and then taken away from – Mel Gibson, has now been replaced due to scheduling conflicts.

The scene filmed by Neeson, 58, was cut out of the movie and is now being re-shot with actor/director Nick Cassavetes playing the role – but it’s not personal, director Todd Phillips tells Variety.

Phillips says that he cut the scene immediately following Neeson’s cameo while editing The Hangover 2, creating a gap in the sequence of events. Phillips decided to re-shoot the scene – but Neeson was already busy in London shooting the follow-up to Clash of the Titans.

“We were in a complete time crunch, so I called Nick [Cassavetes] and asked if he would do the part,” Phillips says. “He came in and crushed it, and that is the scene that you will ultimately see in the film.”

With Cassavetes, 51, now teaming up onscreen with the Wolf Pack (Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms) in the role of a Bangkok tattoo artist in the Thailand-set sequel, which arrives in theaters May 26, Phillips says he’s excited for fans to see the film.

“It turned out great,” he says.

[From People]

I couldn’t pick Nick Cassavetes out of a lineup, so that makes this less of a cameo and more like “some dude coming in to play a small part.” Poor Liam! He was so pleased that he got to work on the second film. Oh, well. They’ll probably end up making a third film with the exact same premise, only this one will take place in… Africa! The North Pole! Or maybe Australia. God knows. And Liam will get a part in that one.

Here’s Nick Cassavetes:

Enquirer: Liam Neeson is engaged to 36-year-old Freya St. Johnston

wenn3129901

Last September, the news came out that Liam Neeson had begun dating again. It came a year and a half after Natasha Richardson’s death, so it wasn’t like Liam jumped right into the dating pool. Liam’s new girlfriend emerged as Freya St. Johnston, a 36-year-old public relations executive and single mother of two (Liam is 58 years old, by the way). So, we know Liam and Freya have been dating since at least last September, when they were photographed together (see photo here) – is it too soon for Liam to propose?

Liam Neeson is ready to marry his girlfriend of six months – just two years after the tragic death of his wife Natasha Richardson. Liam is telling pals that his girlfriend, public relations executive Freya St. Johnston, helped mend his broken heart – and he has already proposed, the Enquirer has learned.

“Liam never imagined he’s get over Natasha’s death, let alone fall in love again,” a source revealed. “But Freya has been a ray of sunshine in his life after so much darkness. She’s been very patient with Liam and never once pressured him to move fast or make any commitments.”

“Freya is a single parent of two kids and they’re already blending their families. At this point, they’re leaning toward a small ceremony in New York late this year.”

Since Natasha’s tragic death, Liam has casually dated a string of women, including Swedish model Jennifer Ohlsson, but the insider says Liam has steered clear of serious relationships for fear of upsetting his sons, Michael and Daniel.

“Liam has been very careful to respect Natasha’s memory and not move too fast back into the world of dating,” added the source. “But Liam’s sons like Freya and told him that Natasha would have wanted him to be happy. They’re thrilled that their dad is in love.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition]

I tend to think it’s too soon after they started dating, but I also tend to think that Liam deserves happiness, and maybe he can handle his own affairs without my input. I’m also not completely sure about this report – on one side, I could totally buy how a man like Liam just loves being in a relationship, and how he would want to settle down so quickly after Natasha’s death, and thus, I believe he could have proposed to this woman. On the other side, Liam still seems like he’s grieving very deeply for Natasha – remember his heart-wrenching Esquire interview just two months ago? So… while I wouldn’t judge Liam if this story is true, I also think that Liam’s not quite there yet.

Liam Neeson discusses Natasha Richardson’s death at length with Esquire

liam3

Liam Neeson managed to get through promotional rounds for several films without discussing his late wife. Natasha Richardson died in March of 2009, and since then, Liam has promoted a half-dozen films, and only now, in the March cover story of Esquire, is Liam addressing Natasha’s death in any detail. The full Esquire piece is worth a read – Liam is an interesting interview beyond his grief, and the story is one of the better-written Esquire pieces I’ve read in a while. He’s promoting Unknown, the action/thriller/suspense with Adian Quinn, January Jones and Diane Kruger. Before I get to the Natasha stuff, here are two interesting excerpts that I liked:

On consenting to a television interview during a Knicks game: “I had to do it, Tom, because they gave me those tickets,” he says. “Because, well, you just get nothing for nothing, right?” Neeson speaks with more brogue than you’d expect, and somehow less, so that the same word — nothing — sounds both hissed and sung in the same sentence. “And before we go on the air, the woman says to me, ‘I’m going to throw you a question, something like, “Mr. Neeson, if Star Wars is on one channel and Schindler’s List is on the other, which one do you watch?”‘ And oh, but that gets me started. I mean, I start to tell her, one represents six million people, six million lives, the other is just, just …” — and here he climbs the word as he says it — “fantasy! But then my boy steps in and — he’s so smart — says, ‘Excuse me, ma’am. Why don’t you say Star Wars on one channel and Taken on the other?’ That’s what made me happy. And I looked that way, because right before I went on, my son, he can see I’m still aggravated, so he just steps up to me and says, ‘Smile, Dad, smile.’ And that’s my bonny boy. His mother just shines through him at moments like that.”

He has a dog: “It’s Natasha’s dog. A tiny, tiny little poodle. And I don’t like walking it. I don’t want my picture taken walking in the park with her poodle. Too dramatic, too sad. It’s her dog. Hers. And people know that. So …” he says, raising an eyebrow here impossibly high. “It’s a thing for me just now,” he says, ticking out a small dark laugh. “We have a farm upstate,” he says, leaning forward a bit, picking up his wineglass without the least bit of theater or pretense. “The thing nobody knows is, that dog and I are like this.” He knits his fingers. “She knows. She knows. I mean she knows. As soon as we’re out of the city, she’s up in the front seat of the car, up in my lap, and she never leaves my side. She waits, Tom. I swear it. And we’re all over that farm, this little poodle and me. Everywhere. She’s like a working dog up there. She’s given herself over completely. She’s just a damned good dog.” And this is the moment — late in the meal, late in the afternoon — when Neeson looks like what he is, what Richardson herself was: an ex-smoker. He is a man in deep need of a timely terminal exhale to punctuate this story, to separate himself from the next thing he says, now thrice repeated. “That’s why it’s a thing for me just now.”

[From Esquire]

The thought of Liam and Natasha’s dog bonding in the country is… extraordinarily moving. At some point, Liam and the interviewer discuss Liam’s near-death experience in 2000, when Liam crashed his motorcycle and Natasha had to rush to the hospital because the doctors told her Liam wouldn’t make it. He tells a bittersweet story about fighting with her at the hospital at that time, saying that if she thought he was going to die, she should have gotten him a priest. And then… he opens up about her death. Here is the Liam talking about Natasha, with minimal edits:

“I’d been to Montreal maybe twice before. And for some reason, I thought the city’s this size.” He holds his hands out in front of him then, cupped like he is drinking water.

“I thought that it was this little comfortable little city,” he says. “And for some reason, I thought the hospital that I was in a taxi racing toward was gonna be a nice little hospital, about twice the size of this restaurant. But it was this huge, glassy, black place. A Dickensian place, Tom.

“I walked into the emergency — it’s like seventy, eighty people, broken arms, black eyes, all that — and for the first time in years, nobody recognizes me. Not the nurses. The patients. No one. And I’ve come all this way, and they won’t let me see her. And I’m looking past them, starting to push — I’m like, F&#*, I know my wife’s back there someplace. I pull out a cell phone — and a security guard comes up, starts saying, ‘Sorry, sir, you can’t use that in here,’ and I’m about to ask him if he knew me, when he disappears to answer a phone call or something. So I went outside. It’s freezing cold, and I thought, What am I gonna do? How am I going to get past the security?

“And I see two nurses, ladies, having a cigarette. I walk up, and luckily one of them recognizes me. And I’ll tell you, I was so f’ing grateful — for the first time in I don’t know how long — to be recognized. And this one, she says, ‘Go in that back door there.’ She points me to it. ‘Make a left. She’s in a room there.’ So I get there, just in time. And all these young doctors, who look all of eighteen years of age, they tell me the worst.” He purses his lips, mouth dry. “The worst.”

This is the point where he stops again. He blinks back tears, takes a long look at the table across from us, where members of Natasha Richardson’s extended family are, coincidentally, having lunch in this same restaurant. (He and Natasha, this was their place, so it’s only a mild coincidence.) I wait. Again, I tell him how sorry I am. Neeson nods.

He went back to shooting Chloe, after the funeral. “I just think I was still in a bit of shock,” he says. “But it’s kind of a no-brainer to go back to that work. It’s a wee bit of a blur, but I know the tragedy hadn’t just really smacked me yet.”

Now the no-brainer is staying with the work, the good work, as it piles up on him. “I think I survived by running away some. Running away to work. Listen, I know how old I am and that I’m just a shoulder injury from losing roles like the one in Taken. So I stay with the training, I stay with the work. It’s easy enough to plan jobs, to plan a lot of work. That’s effective. But that’s the weird thing about grief. You can’t prepare for it. You think you’re gonna cry and get it over with. You make those plans, but they never work.

“It hits you in the middle of the night — well, it hits me in the middle of the night. I’m out walking. I’m feeling quite content. And it’s like suddenly, boom. It’s like you’ve just done that in your chest.” Here Neeson reaches out and twists both hands in opposite directions, like he’s corkscrewing two ends of a soda can, reaches toward me so it’s clear: This is in his chest. He shakes his head at the thought of this one thing, this single hideous bead on the necklace of his life. He speaks as if he were regarding its cruelty anew, though this too cannot be. He’s too smart to feel singled out by what happened to his wife. Her death, with its painfully curious timeline — the simple fall, her apparent clearheadedness, followed by the swift, merciless brain hemorrhage? Brutal and extraordinary. Neeson’s experience at the hospital — the mix-up at reception, the chaos of the ER, the arrival of the security guard? Vivid and, at the same time, banal. Just another hospital story; everyone has them. This doesn’t mean they don’t hurt. When he says, “It’s just extraordinary,” Neeson is referring to the persistent depth of pain, the ruinous visitations of grief, even now, two years later. That stuff is all his very own.

[From Esquire]

Oh, God. I just… I want to comfort him. I want to give him a big hug. That’s all I really have to say.

Mel Gibson ordered to pay Oksana $60,000 in back child support

Edge of Darkness Premiere held at The Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California on January 26th. Mel Gibson Fame Pictures, Inc

I was going to write about Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva’s lawyers facing off in an LA court on Wednesday, but I found this Liam Neeson story that I thought was more interesting, just because… you know, it’s Liam. And he’s awesome. I’ll get to the court stuff in a second. According to Liam, Mel Gibson isn’t calling Zach Galifianakis in the middle of the night and shouting down the line that Zach needs to give him a beej. No, according to Liam, Mel is “cool” with the way things went down, what with the cast and crew revolting against The Hangover 2’s director and Mel being publicly “fired” (ish) and replaced with Liam.

Liam Neeson says Mel Gibson isn’t mad at him for replacing him in The Hangover 2.

“I spoke to Mel. Mel’s cool about it,” he tells Access Hollywood. “We’re all cool.”

Gibson’s cameo was scrapped after cast and crew complained.

Bradley Cooper, who costarred with Neeson, 58, in this summer’s A-Team, suggested Neeson for the role. Before singing on, Neeson says he chatted with Gibson — the two worked together on 1984′s The Bounty — to make sure it was OK. Neeson says their conversation was “very pleasant.”

Neeson didn’t dish on the cameo, but denied reports that he plays a tattoo artist in the sequel. He also didn’t get to shoot in Thailand, where the sequel takes place.

“No,” Neeson says, laughing. “[Filming] was (at the) Warner Brothers studio. I wish [it was Thailand]!”

The Hangover 2 hits the big screen on May 26, 2011.

[From Us Weekly]

Personally, I think Mel probably was “cool” with Liam, because Mel doesn’t blame Liam for what went down – Mel probably blames everybody else, especially Zach, who was the most vocal. Plus, Mel knows that if push comes to rose garden, Liam could totally take him. Liam is a giant. He could take nearly everybody.

Okay, onto to the Mel/Oksana stuff. They were both in court on Wednesday, and long story short, Mel was ordered to pay Oksana $60,000 in back child support. Oh, and Oksana’s lawyer served Mel with a subpoena during a break. Atta girl, Oksy.

Mel Gibson was ordered Wednesday to pay three months of back child support totaling $60,000 to Oksana Grigorieva for their 1-year-old daughter Lucia, sources tell PEOPLE.

Gibson had delayed making $20,000 monthly payments while his attorneys tried to clarify if he could deduct the $6,000-a-month he pays for the Los Angeles home where Grigorieva, 40, lives with her 61-year-old mother and Lucia, sources say.

During a family court hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court, Judge Scott Gordon denied the housing deduction.

Gibson appeared at the hearing wearing a dark suit and blue shirt and tie. He did not talk with reporters, and his attorney declined to comment. Grigorieva arrived a few minutes later wearing a blazer, tight knee-length skirt, heels and large sunglasses.

Judge Gordon also has been asked by Grigorieva’s camp to end Lucia’s overnight stays with Gibson. Sources say Grigorieva worries about Gibson’s temper and is concerned that a nanny watches their daughter overnight and that the baby cries because she misses her mother.

Gordon was expected to delay making a decision on visitation until another hearing later this year or early in 2011.

[From People]

The custodial stuff is still very strange to me – I find it hard to believe that Mel still has so much access to Lucia, but maybe that will change as all of this stuff gets dragged on and on. Eh. I don’t know. I’m just glad Mel had to cough up some money. I hope the judge made him write a check right then and there.

Mel Gibson officially replaced by Liam Neeson on ‘The Hangover 2′

Photo by: KGC178/starmaxinc.com 2010 7/27/10 Liam Neeson at the premiere of The A-Team . (London, England) Photo via Newscom

What a whirlwind week it was for Mel Gibson! He was supposed to fly to Thailand and film for one day, all for his “comeback cameo” in The Hangover 2. Some people involved in the film revolted, however, and Mel was dumped from the project just a few days after his casting was announced. Now, People Magazine confirms that Liam Neeson stepped into the cameo part, and that he flew to Thailand on Thursday. Liam worked with Bradley Cooper on The A-Team, and my guess is that Liam and B. Coop got along very well, and Bradley suggested his friend for the role.

How do you cure a hangover? Call in the A–Team.

Liam Neeson is now doing a cameo in The Hangover 2 after Mel Gibson’s appearance got canceled due to complaints by cast and crew. Neeson was invited by his A-Team costar Bradley Cooper, who’s also in the Hangover sequel.

“I just got a call to do a one-day shoot on Hangover 2 as a tattooist in Thailand, and that’s all I know about it,” Neeson tells Daily Variety. “I just laughed my leg off when I saw The Hangover, I was shooting in Berlin earlier this year and rented it on the hotel TV.”

Neeson left his New York home on Thursday for the Hangover 2 set.

[From People]

That’s nice that Liam was called in and could do it on the fly. I mean… it’s Liam Neeson! Why wasn’t the first choice? Also, Us Weekly had an “exclusive” story about what really went down behind the scenes on set when Mel’s name was mentioned for the part:

Sounds like Mel Gibson’s cancelled cameo on The Hangover 2 was doomed from the start. It’s been widely speculated that Zach Galifianakis was solely responsible for Gibson getting the axe from the sequel, after the actor admitted earlier this month he was “in a deep protest right now with a movie I’m working on.”

But an insider close to the production says that all of the film’s stars — including Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms — objected to the stunt casting.

“They barely began shooting when [Gibson] was dumped on them,” the source tells UsMagazine.com. “It was met with a collective ‘oh hell no.’”

Director Todd Phillips and the film studio tried to “appease” the cast and make it into a “positive,” but to no avail. “This dampened all of the production,” the insider says. “None of the cast, Bradley, Zach, Ed, no one was pleased and it was evident.”

The source adds that their objection wasn’t just to Gibson’s controversial reputation, tarnished more than ever over his vicious battle with ex Oksana Grigorieva.

“They don’t want him to be in the movie and serve as a platform for some creepy comeback,” the insider tells Us. “They didn’t want that energy or to shoulder what would come with having him apart of the film.”

“The entire cast and crew pretty much stood in solidarity and made it very clear: no. It took awhile, but it happened,” the source says.

“I thought Mel would have been great in the movie,” director Phillips mused to The Wrap on Thursday. “But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.”

[From Us Weekly]

I hope this is true, just because I want to believe Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper are smart enough to realize that Mel’s involvement would have been a distraction, and it would have been extremely inappropriate. Of course, I’m still expecting The Hangover 2 to be really racist, so lets not give them too much credit.

Liam Neeson, 58, has a new, young, 36-year-old blonde girlfriend

The cast of the A Team attends the premiere in Berlin, Germany on July 29, 2010. Pictured: Liam Neeson Restriction applies: USA ONLY Fame Pictures, Inc

According to British and American sources, Liam Neeson has a new girlfriend. This is likely the first girlfriend he’s had since Natasha Richardson passed away in March of last year, and the indications are that Liam hasn’t been dating this woman for very long. Her name is Freya St. Johnston, she’s very blonde and pretty, she’s a businesswoman, and she’s 36 years old (Liam is 58 years old). I think she’s British? She lives in London. You can see photos of her at The Daily Mail here – they’re calling her a “Natasha look-alike” but she strikes me as more of a Uma Thurman-Chloe Sevigny hybrid.

When his wife, actress Natasha Richardson, died in a skiing accident in March last year, Liam Neeson was devastated. But now it appears he has found solace with another woman, who bears more than a passing resemblance to Natasha.

The 58-year-old actor was seen leaving London’s exclusive Nobu restaurant with businesswoman Freya St Johnston on Friday. The couple looked relaxed and happy, romantically holding hands. Blonde Freya wore a pink silk dress and beige jacket, while Neeson was in jeans, a navy jacket and a tan baseball cap. Later the couple were spotted going into the upmarket Dorchester Hotel.

It is believed Neeson met Freya, 36, through friends in the film world and has visited her modest flat in North-West London. The property is a marked contrast to Neeson’s multi-million-pound home in New York, where he lives with his sons Michael, 15, and Daniel, 14. Recently, neighbours have seen huge bunches of flowers regularly being delivered to Freya’s address.

Asked about her relationship with Neeson yesterday, Freya said: ‘I am not saying anything whatsoever.’

However a close friend said: ‘I am not aware of that [any relationship], but I would not be surprised, she moves in those circles. She said he’s just an old friend. They have not seen each other for ten years and went out to dinner on Friday night.’

Freya – who had a ring on the third finger of her left hand – is believed to have two children, including seven-year-old son Ned by her ex-partner Matthew Winton, 37. The couple ran a retail clothing business for three years called Ned Trading Ltd, named after their son, but it was dissolved.

On Facebook, Freya lists her status as ‘single’ while on Twitter she boasts about her links with celebrities, dropping the names of Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom.

Neeson was last seen in London in July at the premiere of the A Team movie, though there was no sign of Freya on the red carpet with him. But by taking her to the celebrity haunt Nobu, where he knew he would be spotted, it appears he is happy to make their relationship public.

[From The Daily Mail]

Eh. The portrait of this woman… she seems a bit famewhorish, just from that bit about her Facebook, and the fact that her “friend” was very eager to confirm their date. Plus, Nobu is a trendy place. Still, if this is what Liam wants, so be it. He’s entitled to some happiness. I won’t even say anything about how she’s a bit too young for him and that she sounds like she could potentially be another Heather Mills. I swear I won’t.

Jessica Biel’s Pucci gown – trashy, boring or lovely?

It’s not that I dislike Jessica Biel’s Pucci gown on general principle. I just don’t understand why Jessica always wears full-length gowns to premieres, and I don’t understand how even when wearing a gown, she can still look so hastily pulled-together and budget. The gown itself is okay – I’m not crazy about the weird black lace inset, but whatever, it’s interesting. The cut of the skirt does nothing for Jessica’s famous figure, though. Is it supposed to be that baggy and loose?

Oh, and Justin Timberlake didn’t come. He rarely shows up for Jessica’s stuff, and she always shows up for his stuff. Interesting. Anyway, this was all for The A-Team premiere in LA. I didn’t think Liam Neeson would show up, but he did! He looks sad and lovely. I would run away with him in a hot minute. Look at these lovely eye crinkles:

Bradley Cooper, meh. After a real man like Liam, Bradley just looks like a douchey pretty boy.

And the group shot:

Eh. I actually think this movie is probably going to do pretty well at the box office, and I’m okay with that. Just because of Liam… I want him to have massive success no matter what. Let’s just look at more pretty pictures of Liam. Here’s one of Liam and Ramage (“Canada is gay“) Jackson:
