Lily Allen (Lily Cooper) gave birth to a baby girl (Mini Cooper) on Friday

This is good news! Lily Allen gave birth to a baby girl on Friday! Huzzah! It’s always good news when a lady has a healthy pregnancy and gives birth to a healthy baby, but even more so in Lily’s case. In 2008, she suffered a miscarriage when she was with her then-boyfriend, and one year ago, Lily had a painful stillbirth when she was only six months pregnant. Lily married Sam Cooper several months ago, and she was already pregnant when she and Sam got hitched.

Lily Allen has a new reason to smile.

The pop star and her husband, Sam Cooper, welcomed their first child, a girl, on Friday, according to various reports. And the well-wishers are already chiming in.

Her friend Sam Chew Tweeted this message: “sending out love to lily, sam and mini cooper…… YES.”

Another pal, Charlie Condou, Tweeted to his followers that the singer had a little girl.

Allen, 26, wed Cooper, a painter and decorator, in Gloucestershire, England, last June, when she revealed she was expecting her bundle of joy. She has also since taken his last name.

Her U.K. rep had no comment on the birth of their daughter.

The birth comes after several hardships for the singer. She lost a baby boy in November 2010, after contracting a viral infection six months into her pregnancy. She also miscarried her first pregnancy in January 2008, while she was dating British musician Ed Simons.

[From People]

Oh, wait? She’s Lily Cooper now? Noted. Well, even though I’ve had my issues with Lily in the past, I’m very, very happy for her now. She really wanted to be a mom, and I’m so glad that it finally happened for her, and that she and baby seem like they’re doing well. I hope Sam sticks around too – he seems like a decent guy, and who knows? Maybe Sam and Lily will last forever.

Lily Allen’s Elle UK pictorial: gorgeous or budget, Katy Perry-esque?

lily1

Here are some of the photos from Lily Allen’s August cover pictorial for Elle UK. Yes, she’s “retired” but she’s still doing endless promotion – I think this interview is to promote her clothing line/shop, Lucy in Disguise, that she does with her sister. The interview – and the pictorial – were done before Lily married her longtime boyfriend Sam Cooper, and before she announced her current pregnancy. She doesn’t look pregnant in the photos, unless we’re talking about her bigger boobs. I actually think these photos of Lily are rather gorgeous, and I so rarely think that of Lily. She’s cute, sure, but gorgeous? What a difference a good haircut and sophisticated styling does for a girl. Does anyone else think she looks a bit like Katy Perry? And by that I mean Dita Von Teese.

Here are some excerpts from Lily’s Elle interview:

Lily Allen has revealed that her local church helped her get through her darkest days after losing her unborn baby last year. The Smile star, 26, explained that because of the kindness of the village vicar and the local community, she was inspired to actually wed in the chapel, something she’d not considered previously. She said it was a way of expressing how important the community of Cranham, Gloucestershire, had become to her and now husband Sam Cooper as they struggled to cope with their loss.

Talking to Elle magazine, she said: ‘People wouldn’t have thought I’d have a church wedding, but since I had the really traumatic experience last year, our local community all pitched in. We hadn’t been there long, but after the news got out we received flowers and really heartfelt, beautifully written cards. Our vicar said a similar thing had happened to his family, so he would come over and sit with me. It feels really nice. We feel protected.’

Lily tied the knot with building boss Sam at the Anglican St James the Great church on June 11. The pair had bought a £3million house there after deciding to quit London for good in September while Lily was pregnant and soon felt at home. However, the singer suffered a viral infection and lost the baby at six months.

But the star said despite her heartbreak, she hadn’t reverted back to her wild partying ways – and credited Sam with helping her change. She explained: ‘I wasn’t eating then, you know, [I was] going out at night. I guess when you’re not eating you have to distract yourself with other things. Come three o’clock it was like, ‘Oh I suppose it’s acceptable to have a glass of wine.’ And then by four o’clock I would have had four glasses. It’s not the way to be. But then I met Sam and he noticed that behaviour. I think it came to a point for him where he was thinking, “Can I be with this girl if this is what her life is like? I want to make this work, but I can’t live in this world.” I just needed someone to tell me.’

Lily added becoming healthier has made her see models and pop stars for what they are too.

She said: ‘I hang out with models, the biggest pop stars and, you know, really and honestly, I hate saying this, but none of them are achieving those body shapes by being healthy. They’re not just going to the gym two hours a day. They’re not eating or they’re taking speed not to eat. In America everyone abuses that Adderall stuff and people aren’t normal.’

Her raw interview doesn’t name any names but she is clearly referring to people that she has spent a lot of time with and monitored their eating habits. However, despite her growing confidence now she is Mrs Cooper, Lily says she doesn’t like wearing certain clothes if she feels like there is too much on display. But despite her own insecurities she says Sam makes her feel brilliant and loves every piece of her body.

On their wedding day, it was also revealed that the couple are pregnant and her tiny bump was slightly visible underneath her gorgeous dress. Even before Lily and Sam became husband and wife, she had personalized Louis Vuitton luggage made with her married initials LRC (Lily Rose Cooper) printed, which she says freaked her husband out.

‘He was really freaked out when he saw it. I practised my signature within an hour of him proposing’, she said.

[From The Mail]

Sigh… remember when Lily used to get wasted at award shows and slag off Kate Moss and Elton John? That drunk bitch got sober! Good for her, sure, but it’s kind of funny to hear her talk about her misspent liquor-soaked days like she only realized she should change her ways when she met her current husband. I remember Lily back when she was a mess – and she really was a mess, publicly and vocally. Lots of people were like “Lily has a problem” or “Lily was so drunk, she had to be carried out of a black tie event” or “Lily got all coked up and started a Twitter feud with —–” or “Lily is sauced again, she’s ruining her career.” But it took Sam to change her, according to her. Oh well… I hope her pregnancy is healthy and I hope she and Sam stay tight.

Lily Allen marries Sam Cooper & her pregnancy was confirmed

lily_allen_3_wenn3388413

Here are some photos from Lily Allen’s wedding yesterday. The bride wore an enormous Delphine Manivet gown and a veil reminiscent of Princess Leia’s Star Wars hair. I rather like the top part of the gown – the lace is nice, and it flatters her upper half. But the bottom is hideous with that flare at the bottom. I guess there was a reason for the enormous gown – shortly after the ceremony, the wedding gown designer confirmed Lily’s pregnancy. Lily is probably really pissed about that. She hates when people talk about her bidness… until she doesn’t hate it. Anyway, Lily married her boyfriend of several years, Sam Cooper, and her pregnancy comes very soon after she lost her last pregnancy at six months, back in November. She had been engaged to Sam Cooper for a while, although she publicly fought anyone and everyone for talking about it.

Lily Allen has two things to smile about.

The singer, 26, married Sam Cooper at St. James the Great Church in Gloucestershire, England, on Saturday – and the newlyweds are expecting a baby, according to reports.

Dressed in a gown with long lace sleeves and a fishtail skirt by French designer Delphine Manivet, the bride was given away by her father, Keith Allen, and then carried a bouquet of white roses as she made her way out of the church with her new husband to a waiting car as a crowd cheered.

“It’s beautiful that she is pregnant, and I am very happy for her. She is very happy about that – it is something wonderful,” Manivet told British paper The Telegraph. “For me, and for her too, when you’re pregnant you want to show that, but also be respectful, so the dress was perfect for her for that moment.”

Cooper revealed the happy baby news to wedding guests, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail.

A rep for Allen could not be reached.

The baby news comes seven months after Allen and Cooper announced her heartbreaking miscarriage.

The wedding, which took place in the village of Cranham in the English countryside, was no secret. Allen’s wedding date was leaked to the press by an unknown guest, who sent the save-the-date card to British newspapers in March.

On Friday, Allen and Cooper were spotted arriving at the church for their rehearsal. Allen’s dad, an actor and musician, was also spotted with a ukulele – perhaps planning to serenade the happy couple.

Cooper, a decorator and business owner, popped the question during a romantic getaway last Christmas.

[From People]

Well, congratulations to Lily and Sam, for the wedding and for the pregnancy. I sincerely hope that Lily’s health keeps up and she has a quiet, uneventful, full-term pregnancy.

Here are some more photos from the wedding party yesterday. I think the groomsmen were in pink. And the girl in the boob dress is Lily’s sister, I think.

Lily Allen is “outraged” that she wasn’t invited to the royal wedding

fp_6935950_ang_chanel_peopl
Remember when Lily Allen promised that she was going to take a break from music, and remember when she quit twitter? Those were good times.

Well, Allen is back and she’s been back for a while, picking fights with people and getting indignant about stuff, as she’s known to do. Her latest tweets involve raging that she wasn’t invited to the royal wedding and that her rival, Joss Stone, was. Then she tried to take it back and claim that she was making a joke. Besides, she has something to do that night anyway, so nya.

@gracedent well, you can quote me as ‘outraged’, why does bloody Joss Stone get an invite and not moi? I sang at the Diana concert too!

From: JustKallMeTall
@lilyroseallen no disrespect however I have a feeling joss stone will behave better on the juice than u, sorry
25 Apr

@JustKallMeTall yeah, but she’s a stoner though so she’ll probably pull a whitey after her 2′nd glass of champers and vom everwhere.
25 Apr

@gracedent it was pretty obvious that I was being sarcastic about not being invited to the royal wedding, right ?
26 Apr

Oh my god, if I get one more tweet about not being invited to the royal wedding. IT WAS A JOKE you humourless fools, now run along.
26 Apr

Besides I wouldn’t be able to go anyway, I have a previous engagement.

[From Lily Allen's Twitter via Radar Online]

Lily is also in some kind of twitter feud with a guy from News of the World who is calling her out over the fact that she said she wanted time off. You can check out the details on her Twitter account, with the relevant tweets linked here. It’s not worth recapping.

Just reading through Lily’s Twitter account, it’s clear why she wasn’t invited to the royal wedding. This girl has been drunk in public multiple times, she’s talked smack about many different celebrities, and she’s wondering why she wasn’t invited to the most important event of the year in her country. She may have changed with her recent engagement and terribly sad miscarriage, but it’s obvious from her Twitter musings that she hasn’t changed that much.

Lily Allen in green Chanel: gorgeous or tragic?

chanel_inside_62_wenn3241059

We have a lot of new photos of Lily Allen because she’s been out and about several times in the past week. A few nights ago, she was out, partying in London, and today she was in Paris for the Chanel show (the green coat photos). Lily hasn’t been doing many public appearances since she miscarried while six months pregnant, and hasn’t done much press except for the odd rage-filled rant against any gossip columnist who writes innocuous items about how Lily might be engaged. Which she later revealed she was in fact engaged, making her c-bomb-filled rant look less like a person protecting their privacy and more like a famewhore celebrity protecting the exclusive release of information. That’s just me though – while I have so much sympathy for Lily and her personal problems with carrying a pregnancy to term, I simultaneously think Lily, as a celebrity, is a massive dickhead who consistently and hypocritically thinks she can have it both ways – that she can claim “privacy” in interview after sanctimonious interview where she claims again and again that she’s “leaving” the celebrity world and becoming more private, only to do more magazine covers and more interviews and more public appearances and playing fast and loose with the release of information. She’s exhausting. So, speaking of Miss Privacy, she took part in a documentary which spanned her life over, like, six months last year:

She has shunned the spotlight and kept quiet since tragically losing her baby late last year. But Lily Allen has opened up about her second miscarriage during a revealing Channel 4 documentary Riches To Rags.

The singer, who lost her child six months into her pregnancy, says: ‘It was a really long battle – and I think that kind of thing changes a person.’

The 25-year-old reveals her pain at the loss in a new show that charts her venture into fashion as she opened up Covent Garden vintage boutique Lucy In Disguise with sister Sarah Owen.

A preview of Lily Allen: Riches To Rags was shown this week as the singer headed to Paris to catch the Chanel Autumn/Winter 2011 fashion show.

Lily also reveals in the documentary – which filmed her between March and October last year – that she suffered with an eating disorder, ‘I used to vomit after meals. It’s not something I’m proud of…But, I tell you what, a lot of people came up to me telling me how great I looked and I’d be on the cover of every magazine. I thought I looked good and it was great to be able to try on clothes and feel a million dollars. But I wasn’t happy, I really wasn’t. I would love to be the skinniest minniest person in the world but I can’t do that without being unhappy – I like food.’

She adds: ‘I’m a pop star, not a model. Don’t make me feel s*** for not being really skinny and having an eating disorder.’

Lily became engaged to Sam Cooper on Christmas Day last year, a month after they lost their baby.

[From The Daily Mail]

I wonder if Lily is going to throw a hissy fit over the advanced promotion for this documentary…? You know, because she’s so private and no one should write about her, ever. It makes me wonder why she even agreed to do a documentary, because she hates the spotlight so much. Oh, right.

Lily Allen rage-tweets Daily Mail columnist: “I think you’re a c-nt”

wenn3036074

Yesterday, my favorite Daily Mail columnist Katie Nicholl reported a relatively innocuous little gossip item. According to her sources, Lily Allen was planning a wedding to her boyfriend Sam Cooper, following their tragic miscarriage just one month ago. You can read the piece here – there are no nasty quotes, nothing that I would find particularly offensive. If it was true, I would think Lily’s friends are gossips who love her. If it was false, I would think that Nicholl just got a bad tip. What I would not think, however, is that Nicholl was a C-U-Next-Tuesday. But that was Lily Allen’s reaction on Twitter:

lilytweet

[From Lily Allen’s Twitter]

Too harsh? Or should Lily be off-limits for a time because of her personal tragedy? Or should professional gossips just pack it in completely because no one should ever speculate, EVER? Here’s Gossip Cop’s take on the situation:

Lily Allen is blasting a gossip columnist who claims Allen and Sam Cooper are planning to marry in the aftermath of her recent miscarriage.

The Daily Mail’s Katie Nicholl quotes a so-called “friend” of the couple as saying, “They realised through their grief that they absolutely adore one another and cannot live without each other.” Nicholl goes on to speculate about the location of the ceremony and reception.

Allen, who’s also recovering from blood poisoning, took to Twitter to say exactly what she thought of Nicholl.

Allen writes, “Katie Nicholl I THINK you’re a c**t, leave me out of your sh**ty column, you know nothing about the intimate details of my life.”

“Theres (sic) a time and a place for your musings where i’m concerned, and it’s not now,” adds the singer.

Gossip Cop has busted Nicholl’s “musings” before, including her wrong assertions about Sienna Miller and Charlize Theron following Kabbalah, as well as her baseless claim that Uma Thurman planned to marry at Kensington Palace.

As of now, the Allen article is still posted to the Daily Mail’s website, and Nicholl has not responded.

[From Gossip Cop]

Well, Lily seems to be claiming that Nicholl did get in touch with her, so I wouldn’t say there has been NO response. Quite honestly, I have mixed feelings about this. I think it’s in poor taste to report random marriage gossip about someone who has just gone through an unspeakable tragedy. On the other hand, despite Lily’s personal grief, I think she’s overreacting and still quite hungry for the limelight – this report would have been completely ignored if Lily hadn’t made such a big deal about it. She’s been in the fame business long enough to know that – so I have no idea what she’s trying to achieve.

Lily Allen rushed to hospital under fears of septicemia

wenn3036080

Jesus, and I thought I was having a rotten week with my car and phone drama. It was just Monday when Lily Allen and her boyfriend confirmed that they had lost their baby, with only three months left to go in her pregnancy. Sources later claimed that Lily had lost the baby after contracted a viral infection. And now British sources are saying that Lily was just admitted to the hospital under fears she may have septicemia, which is basically blood poisoning, or a blood infection (the extent of my medical knowledge is House – correct me if I’m wrong, doctors). Septicemia can be fatal. Poor Lily:

LILY ALLEN was rushed to hospital by ambulance on Friday night (05Nov10) to be treated for potentially fatal blood-poisoning condition septicemia, just days after suffering a miscarriage.

The Smile hitmaker was devastated when she lost her baby son last weekend (29-31Oct10), six months into her pregnancy by boyfriend Sam Cooper. Allen has been recovering at her home and on Friday (05Nov10) afternoon she thanked her fans for their messages of support, revealing she was still feeling ill following the miscarriage. She wrote on Twitter.com, “I’m still very sick but the messages are helping me to be stronger.”

But just hours after writing the message, the singer’s condition worsened and she was taken to hospital to be checked for the bacterial infection, reports Britain’s Daily Mail.

A source tells the publication, “Lily had been recuperating at home with Sam and her family, but she has been taken back to hospital and is getting the best care possible at the moment. Everyone is extremely concerned, but she is in the best place and luckily she was admitted quickly. Lily needs time to recover in privacy.”

Further details about Allen’s condition were not known as WENN went to press.

[From WENN]

Thoughts and prayers to Lily. This is just awful. Hopefully, the doctors will take good care of her, and she’ll take the time off and get some real rest, and come back as strong as ever.

Lily Allen loses her baby with three months left in her pregnancy

Jesus, this news just made me so sad this morning. Lily Allen and her boyfriend just confirmed that she suffered a miscarriage (some are saying the baby was stillborn). Lily was six months pregnant, and this is her second miscarriage in two years time. Back in September, after she confirmed the pregnancy, she spoke candidly about the complications she suffered in the first trimester – there was bleeding, and Lily said that she was “living in fear” that she wouldn’t be able to carry to term.

Lily Allen has again suffered the heartbreak of losing a baby during pregnancy.

“It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby,” the British singer’s rep tells PEOPLE in a statement. “The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made.”

Allen, 25, announced a few weeks ago that the baby, a boy, was due in January. This is her second such heartbreak – coming almost three years after she suffered a miscarriage during her relationship with musician Ed Simons.

Allen and Cooper, an upmarket decorator, had announced their pregnancy in August. Allen had also Tweeted a pic of herself excitedly holding up a newspaper with the good news.

Allen has spoken of having children as “ultimately my main goal” in life.

[From People]

Poor Lily. I don’t really have anything to say other than that. Poor girl. She must be absolutely devastated.

Lily Allen talks candidly about the “complications” with her pregnancy

44501, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - Monday September 6, 2010. Pregnant Lily Allen shows off her bump at the Tamara Drewe UK Premiere at Odeon Leicester Square. Photograph: PacificCoastNews.com

Lily Allen is about four or five months pregnant, by my estimation. She got pregnant earlier this year after spending more than a year talking about getting pregnant and leaving the music business, and after a very public miscarriage back in 2008. Lily didn’t announce this pregnancy until about a month ago, and many assumed that she had waited beyond the first-trimester standard, just because she worried about having another miscarriage. It seems like those concerns were well-founded – Lily just opened up to a British publication about the complications that arose during the first months:

After suffering a miscarriage with her first pregnancy, Lily Allen‘s experience the second time around — she’s expecting a baby with boyfriend Sam Cooper — hasn’t been much easier.

“I came off the pill and, weirdly, a week later it happened. But then it was really difficult, I had complications,” the songstress, 25, reveals in The Sunday Times. “I had about a week and a half of really heavy bleeding and had to have lots of scans … I’ve been living in fear for the past three months.”

But not even health scares can deter Allen from wanting a family — a wish, she says, she’s had since childhood. “I’ve probably been saying it since I was seven!” she admits.

While her dreams may be finally coming true, the expectant mum insists she has no plans of combining her successful career — including a Grammy nomination — with her personal life.

“I don’t think it’s that much a part of me, to be honest,” she says of her decision to not tell her future children of her pop star days. “It’s something I’ve done, that I enjoyed doing, and I may go back to doing it in years to come, but I’ve got to believe that there is more.”

What will take center stage, then? Raising her kids in as normal and family-oriented environment as possible, Allen explains.

“It’s not that I didn’t enjoy my childhood, because I did, but I suppose I was always quite fascinated by how a normal family would operate,” she muses. “Because everyone I knew when I was growing up came from divorced parents. I do remember when I had my first proper boyfriend at 16, going to his parents’ house in Ireland and we all sat round had dinner together and I was really overwhelmed by the whole thing.”

[From People Magazine]

God, I actually feel for her. I can’t imagine going through that, and being so worried that something was going horribly wrong. But she seems to be doing better now – and her bump is growing by the day. Be safe, Lily.

Lily Allen’s pregnant style is even worse than her regular style

wenn2989076

I actually want to like Lily Allen. I think that of all the pop stars, she actually seems like she’s got half a brain, and she might be fun. But she killed it for me a long time ago, when she kept giving interview after interview after exhaustive interview about how she was going to end her career and have a baby. She was basically playing one of the oldest famewhore moves in the book – getting attention for “leaving the music business” and simultaneously creating her own famewhore Bump Watch for everyone to comment on. Well, she’s now pregnant (by her boyfriend, who is not in the business), and she’s supposedly on her “break”. So why, perchance, is she on a red carpet, showing off her bump in this hideous dress? Well, it was the premiere of “her mum’s film” but I also think Lily just wanted some attention.

Bump watch! British singer Lily Allen, 25, showed off her growing belly at the London premiere of Tamara Drewe Monday.

“Its Elle magazine’s 25th birthday issue this month,” Allen tweeted before the premiere. “There’s a party tonight to celebrate but I can’t go. Sorry Elle. It’s the premiere for my mum’s film Tamara Drewe, so I’m going there instead.”

Allen — who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Sam Cooper after suffering a miscarriage in January 2008 — admits that she’s still adjusting to her pregnancy curves.

“I’m aware of the fact that I’ve put on a considerable amount of weight, and I didn’t want it to become a talking point,” she tweeted in August just after confirming her pregnancy. “I’m feeling vulnerable enough as it is. Hence the jeans and pyjama top. Just wanted to be relaxed and not think about all that.”

[From Us Weekly]

Alright… maybe I’ll give her a pass on walking the red carpet for her mother – I can understand her need and desire to publicly support her mom. But Lily did manage to make the evening all about her, didn’t she? Now the story is “Lily Allen debuts bump in a hideous dress” rather than “Lily Allen is a good daughter, supports mum.” The detailing on this dress – the accents on the hem and the big, puffy sleeves are so cheesy. Ugh. I hate this vintagey, “precious” oh-look-at-me-I’m-so-dainty style.

Or could it be that this is just a reoccurring instance of my continuing Bangs Trauma? Lily’s bangs have taken on a life of their own. My personal opinion: beyond the age of 10 years old, your bangs should not be this thick.
