My first thought on reading this story: “Did Radar pay $10 a minute to talk to Micheal Lohan because these quotes must have been expensive.” But no, I’m sure Michael has them on speed dial and they only take his calls on slow news days and/or when his daughter does something exceptionally stupid, which as we know is relative for Lindsay. Yesterday we heard a porn star dish to some radio station about how he had sex with Lindsay Lohan while her father was sleeping in the same house. The guy even insinuated that Lindsay paid him for his services, which is better than the money going up her nose I guess. Well now Michael Lohan has chimed in, and he said this never happened, and if it did he would have seriously hurt the guy. Well, maybe he’s right. The guy sleeping upstairs was probably another old dude that Lindsay just claimed was her dad, but was really her 10:30 date. Lindsay doesn’t let her dad in the house anyway.

“This delusional moron wishes he had a nanosecond alone with Lindsay!” Lohan charged. “If I ever caught a guy having sex with my daughter in my house I’d be in jail the rest of my life, especially a dirtball porn star.

“I’m a light sleeper. I would never be asleep while my kids were in the house and awake.

“Another worm crawling out of the woodwork trying to get some publicity. But this time, it’s a person that doesn’t even have respect for himself, never mind Lindsay or anyone else. To begin with, not at ANY time that I was with my family or Lindsay at our home, or anywhere, did I go to sleep before my children did.

“Or allow any man/male and especially a sleazebag, alone with Lindsay. Can you imagine ME, Michael Lohan, of all fathers, allowing my daughter(s) to be alone with any guy while I was present? Ha ha!

“And if, by chance, a dirtball like Voodoo, snuck in, he wouldn’t have made it out. Last but not least, Lindsay would NEVER stoop to the level of this neophyte. (The lowest form of living organism on earth).

“Sad, very sad. I pity him.”

This is a guy who secretly taped his daughter’s (and everyone else’s) phone calls and sold tapes to the press of Lindsay crying and begging for help during what she assumed was a private phone call with her family. This is also the guy who photographed at least two of his ex girlfriends nude and then sold the photos to the press after they inevitably received his fists full of anger (and some kicks to the crotch for good measure). But he would “protect” his daughter by beating up a guy she was having consensual sex with, that she probably paid dearly for. What a great dad.

Lindsay Lohan’s appearance on the Tonight Show aired last night. (You can watch it online on NBC.com if you’re in the US.) She came across well, for her, in that she said the right things. She was fidgeting and looked like she hadn’t slept in days, but she was dressed appropriately in a silk black jumpsuit that was somewhat fug but not the worst thing she’s worn.

You could tell that she’d rehearsed ahead of time and that she was coached on what to say. It was all about how she’s learned from her mistakes and is ready to move on. As I mentioned yesterday, she’s putting the cart way ahead of the horse and acting like this whole thing is behind her, but she still has significant jail time looming for her probation violation and faces a separate charge on grand theft charges. Plus she’s been sentenced to three months of full time community service. Given her history of failing to meet even the most basic court requirements, you know she’s not going to be able to complete it.

Lindsay talks a good game, though, and if we weren’t aware of her history she might look like an average burnt out starlet and not like a delusional addict trying to save the last scraps of her career.

Here are some of the things she said, and at times she smirked like she was the only one aware that she was pulling on over on the audience. She kept looking to the audience for validation, as if she was constantly trying to gauge if they were buying her act. They did cheer and gave her a standing ovation, but as someone mentioned in the comments there are flashing signs telling them how to react so it’s not like it was spontaneous.

Sort-of owning up to her mistakes, but thinks it’s time to move on
I made a lot of poor decisions in the past, and I’m dealing with the consequences of those decisions…

I’m a fighter and I know that I have to work to gain the respect back. I’m willing to do the work that I have to do to follow through with being an actress.

Being young and being in the position I was in, you don’t really take the time to appreciate what you have. It all is kind of a whirlwind and people make decisions for you, but I’m not a kid anymore, I’m 24.

Claims to be “in the clear now”
I’ve made a lot of mistakes, and I recognize that, but I’m in the clear now and I feel like as long as I stay focused then I will be able to achieve what I want to achieve.

That’s the thing, Lindsay isn’t in the clear at all. This is how she got in this mess in the first place, by thinking she was above it all and that it was all behind her while she was in the thick of it, snorting and smoking and stealing.

Then Leno asked Lindsay what she wanted to change about herself. This was a chance for her to own up to her mistakes, to say she wanted to turn over a new leaf even if she was just blowing smoke up our asses as she’d done the whole time. Lindsay didn’t talk much about what she personally needed to change, it was all about how other people needed to change and focus on her non-existent career. We’ve heard this from her so many times before. In fact she said basically the same thing on Ellen – two years ago.

On what she wanted to change about herself
The public perception. I want it to be about my work, not about things that I didn’t get into this business for, that I put myself in positions where that was the bigger story.

On her jail sentence
I was kind of shocked we didn’t expect the outcome to be what it was, but I’m a big girl, and I’m going to do what I’m told to do. That’s what I need to do to continue on with working in my life and I’m taking responsibility.

On if she was treated fairly in court
I think that I was treated the way I should be treated.

On her jail experience
It was an interesting experience and it was definitely a wakeup call. Everything happens for a reason.

On learning of her sentence
It was shocking. I was a bit numb.

On her childhood
My mom’s amazing, she’s really strong. I’ve watched her keep her strength throughout her life. I have good people in my life.

On the situation with her dad
I plead the fifth on that.

On her fans – what fans?
I feel like I’ve let my fans down by putting myself in situations when I was younger and wasn’t thinking clearly. I want to be the person that I aspire to be. And be the actress, and be in this industry, and make movies.

So is it time for Lindsay to have a comeback? Will she be able to even complete her community service requirements? Judging by her past behavior, the answer is clear. She thinks this is all behind her and she’s going to move on to a great career and an Oscar, but all she’s got on the horizon is a role that she almost lost that her dad scored for her from his prison mob connections. She’s living in her “I’m a celebrity” bubble and it’s filled with crack smoke, piles of dirty designer clothes, and memories of her Disney past.

There were stories years ago that Lindsay Lohan was rapidly blowing through whatever fortune she had amassed by shopping constantly. She also used to live at the Chateau Marmont hotel and reportedly ran up a million dollars there in 2005 alone. That money could have been used for a down payment on a home, but Lindsay is still living in (very relative) squalor in a rented home, for which she’s missed payments. Now Radar Online is reporting that Lindsay is sadly but unsurprisingly over 1/2 a million dollars in debt to credit card companies and owes over $600,000 on her plastic. With little career prospects and an event fee that isn’t even as high as Snooki’s Lindsay is going to have a lot of problems paying all that back:

Lindsay Lohan has been hitting the party scene hard and hasn’t done much work since her last film Labor Pains, which went straight to DVD. Despite her lack of income, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that she hasn’t cut back on her spending and is now over half a million dollars in debt.

“Lindsay owes credit cards $600,000,” a source tells RadarOnline.com of the troubled 23-year-old. “One card cut her off last week and it’s only a matter of time before all her other credit cards cut her off too.”

Lohan used to make a good chunk of change by doing club appearances, but as RadarOnline.com previously reported the invites are becoming sparse and the starlet gets only from $5,000 to $10,000 at most.

Lohan’s financial woes are nothing new but the severity of them is. She recently made headlines when it was reported that the actress was two months behind on her rent, prompting her landlord to threaten eviction. Lohan allegedly paid $23,000 to catch up and stay in her place.

“One credit card company is going to discuss a payment plan for Lindsay,” the source continued. “But if she doesn’t have the income and can’t make her payments, they are prepared to sue her.”

Since I’ve been on vacation in the US I’m amazed at how easy it is to spend money here. I’m serious, it’s a little harder to spend like that in Europe as the stores aren’t open as late or on Sunday and the clothes are so much more expensive that you just don’t buy as many things. (And I live in Berlin, where stores are open later and there’s more variety, etc.) There’s a real shopping culture in the US that I didn’t fully notice until I was away for a few years. That said, Lindsay has no one to blame but herself for this financial mess! She has screwed herself out of a very promising career by acting like an entitled brat for years, and she could have cut back on her spending when she realized there wasn’t as much money coming in. Now she’s doing drugs and and has no income to speak of other than whatever she gets for her leggings. There are rumors that Quentin Tarantino wants to work with her, but how much do you want to bet that she’ll screw that up, too? In Lindsay’s world, she’s still a rich movie star, she can still buy whatever she wants, and there’s no one telling her “no.” Pretty soon the credit card companies may be, though. The sad thing is that all that money probably went to clothes, purses and shoes and she still looks like a mess and her house is a pigsty, too!

I have to give celeb wastoid Lindsay Lohan credit for managing to parlay a stupid Twitter war and her inability to take a joke into a possible TV appearance. After TV host George Lopez made fun of Lindsay for appearing in public with baby power puffing out of her shoes, the former actress dissed him via Twitter. Lopez, never one to back down, Twittered right back to Lohan, explaining that it was just a joke and invited her to come onto his late night talk show. Since it is probably the first decent TV offer she’s had since “Ugly Betty,” Lohan would have been a fool to turn it down. Lopez is now saying that the queen of crack Tweets will be appearing on his show next week.

Mark your calendars! After an epic Twitter battle less than 48 hours ago, George Lopez confirmed last night that Lindsay Lohan will appear on his show next Tuesday.

Lopez told his audience, “Lindsay’s a great sport… She’ll be on the show next week. It’s all good!” and he added on Twitter, “Here’s the latest @lindsaylohan is scheduled to appear on Lopez Tonight next tuesday .. Chill !”

After Lopez made a crack about the white powder that erupted from Lohan’s shoes over the weekend, she angrily tweeted back at him, demanding that he get his story straight. Lopez responded by saying, “Come on the show … I’ve met you before and don’t have anything against you. you want me to stop talking about you I will … Come and tell me … To my face … I’ll stop !! Respectfully.”

However, this could be a chance for Lindsay to show that she is “working and healthy” as she has been claiming, and not near death’s door as was recently reported. What do you think? As Kaiser reported earlier this morning, Michael Lohan held some kind of asinine one man press conference yesterday begging his daughter Lindsay to get help for what he claims is a prescription drug addiction. (I’m basically reporting the same story in my way, having written this whole thing before seeing Kaiser’s draft. I don’t want to scrap my work and we take much different perspectives on the story, so it’s worth publishing too.)

We’ve heard all kinds of reports that Lindsay is in desperate need of help and it seems to be true just based on an outsider’s perspective. She looks glassy eyed and high in just about every picture, she recently fell into a cactus during a night out in which she was photographed sleeping in her car, and she’s been in deep denial about her issues – claiming that she’s “working and healthy.” What it is she’s working on is unclear. When she’s not in a public spat and defending herself against all perceived slights she’s either crawling out of bars or shopping.

Lindsay’s mother defends her daughter by infantilizing her and repeatedly calls her a child. Lindsay does the same thing, and recently asked George Lopez if he had children after he talked smack about her on his show. It’s as if she thinks she’s above reproach because she’s just a kid making honest mistakes. Lindsay will be 24 in July, and she needs to stop thinking of herself as this helpless child. She’s a drug addict and needs to take responsibility for her actions. Unfortunately by publicly shaming her, her dad is only pushing her further away.

A “friend” of Lindsay’s who claims to be her business partner (Dina?) told Radar Online that Michael’s actions were “inappropriate” and that “public judgments” affect Lindsay personally and mess up a bunch of projects she’s working on. Mmmhmm. Lindsay’s mom also used the old “Lindsay’s a child” argument to TMZ.

“People around her that know Lindsay know she’s not ok,” Lohan said. “I get calls from some of her closest friends when they’re out with her during the night. I don’t want her to be a statistic. The press is already writing obits for her. How sick is that?”

“Extraordinary circumstances call for extraordinary measures,” Lohan said. “I’ve tried every way possible to reach out to my daughter. I’ve called, texted…in difficult times she reaches out to me for help. Last week she called me when she fell into the cactus. She said ‘Daddy, I need security.’ This is not about publicity. I’m beat up in the press. It hurts the people around me.”

“If you’re an enabler, get the hell out of the way,” he said. “If Lindsay won’t sit down privately, my attorneys and I will take other measures. I just hope Lindsay is accommodating. Lindsay needs a private setting where she can detox and get individual and family therapy. That’s the program I have in place. It’s here on Long Island. I’m sick and tired of all the nonsense.”

I normally do not comment or engage publicly, but it is important for people to understand how inappropriate today’s actions are. It affects her ability to do more work and prosper in all regards. I stand by my friend, always have and always will.”

Lindsay really has her work cut out for her with that man as a father. That said, I agree that she needs to go to rehab. I’ve seen friends get addicted to prescription painkillers and it’s insidious and can be deadly. She’s not going to be able to change until she’s ready, though, and if she goes to rehab now it’s like her dad has won. This tactic isn’t going to work at all, but it’s more about Michael and his need for publicity anyway. He’s already released really sad private phone calls with his weeping daughter. He’s never had her best interests at heart.

Also, I would just like to say that I’ve told Kaiser to take it a little easier on Lindsay and to stop casually calling her a crack addict. (Kaiser has changed a little, but she has her style and I respect that. Plus, I can have a stick up my ass and Kaiser is funnier than I am.) It’s not like I feel sorry for the girl – she made her bed – but I’m honestly worried that she’s going to die. I felt horrible for ever ripping on Heath Ledger after he passed unexpectedly, and as Lindsay’s dad has pointed out a lot of people wouldn’t be surprised if she overdosed.

We all saw the photos of Lindsay Lohan drunk off her ass, falling into a cactus outside of a friend’s house party in the wee hours of the morning. While Lindsay quickly blamed the paparazzi for pushing her, I think it was fairly obvious what was really going on. The images are nothing new. Seems like every week there are new photos of the former actress stumbling out of some club, climbing into a car and looking totally wasted. And don’t even get me started on the crack Tweets! TMZ is reporting that there are people in Lindsay’s “inner circle” who are desperately trying to get her back into a rehab program before she ends up dead. I don’t know what’s more surprising: that Lindsday actually has an “inner circle,” or that they actually care enough about her as a person to try to help her.

The people who care most about Lindsay Lohan believe she desperately needs to get help, but she refuses to listen. A professional who is extremely close to Lindsay confided in TMZ, “If she doesn’t get help soon, she’s going to die.”

People who have been trying to help Lindsay over the last year — both professionally and personally — feel something terrible will happen unless she immediately gets help for substance abuse. We are not talking about Michael or Dina Lohan. These are people who have quietly been trying to convince Lindsay to go to rehab again.

Lindsay, we’re told, is making excuses for her erratic behavior and refusing to acknowledge her problem. After falling Wednesday night when leaving a party, Lindsay Tweeted, “Only I would get pushed into a large, sharp plant by crazy paparazzi!!! I need to start wearing more flats:/”

“We’re not talking about Michael or Dina Lohan.” Yeah, no kidding! Michael was all over the TV a few months ago claiming that he was going to “save” Lindsay, but it was a lot of talk. And Dina is the Queen of Denial – she’s the one who taught Lindsay the fine art of making excuses for herself. I happen to agree with these mystery people – Lindsay is headed for disaster on a grand scale. But the only person who can do anything about it is Lindsay. After three failed rehab stints, it’s pretty clear that Lohan has not reached her lowest point yet. I don’t know how much lower she can get – she is virtually unemployable as an actress, a joke in the fashion world and no A-lister wants anything to do with her. She has seen several acquaintances die from drugs recently and doesn’t seem to be able to connect that to her own lifestyle, so what can anyone else do?

Lindsay Lohan will appear on The Insider tonight to have some kind of heart to heart with Niecy Nash. All that’s available of the upcoming interview is a brief clip in which Lindsay talks about keeping an emotional distance from her dad and having trouble organizing her stuff. They show Lindsay’s messy home and ask “is Lindsay a celebrity hoarder?” Her place is a wreck for sure, and a dramatic voice-over lets us know that it’s her living room, not a storage room, that is filled with clutter. She also has a whole room just for shoes, but at least they’re stored in clear boxes with photos. Lindsay says “I just need to get rid of stuff… that’s personal stuff that I need to work on.”

Niecy is also the host of the Style Network show “Clean House,” for which Lindsay is definitely a candidate. The way the show works is that Niecy and her gang will go into a messy home, convince people to sell off stuff they don’t need, and then match the proceeds from a yard sale to revamp about three rooms of the house. All of the work is done while the homeowners are away at a hotel and at the end they come back to be wowed by their gorgeously redecorated and organized space.

Niecy is the person who gives the candidates pep talks and helps them prepare for a new, cleaner phase of their lives. The show really doesn’t do much emotional work with participants as far as I can tell, though. All they do is talk to them a little, reorganize the home for them while they’re away and convince them to ditch the clutter. I get the feeling that the people on “Clean House” just mess up the place again after the crew leaves. Some of them are definite hoarders that probably aren’t going to change their ways in a weekend. It’s different from a show like “Mission: Organization” on HGTV that does a lot of emotional work with people and works with them to develop a system that they’ll use. (I love those organization shows and have learned so many tips!)

In Lindsay’s case I can see Niecy and her team lending a hand and cleaning up her home, only to have all the work ruined again when she throws her designer swag all over in a drugged haze. In order to have a clean home you have to keep it up and be motivated. A brief chat for a celebrity show isn’t going to help Lohan change her ways. When cops responded to a burglary call at her home last year, her place was so messy that they assumed it was ransacked. Is Niecy going to help Lindsay organize and is that why she’s on the show? I realize it’s the Insider, not Clean House, but I can see Lindsay reaching out to Niecy to help. If she gets some press out of it.

A judge overseeing Lindsay Lohan’s 2007 DUI conviction has ordered that she attend six months of weekly alcohol education classes starting in the new year. Back in October, Lohan appeared in court to explain why she hadn’t yet completed her probation requirements. Instead of throwing a thick, hard legal book at Lohan (I’m sorry if that sounded dirty, I was going for strict), the judge ruled that Lindsay could have an extra year to complete her probation. Why didn’t Lindsay get the same judge that sent Paris Hilton to jail for over a month for driving on a suspended license? That would have only been fair.

Anyway, Lindsay has now been ordered to start alcohol education as soon as possible and have it completed by July. It sounds like a small price to pay for two DUI incidents in one year, including a high speed chase in a stolen car with unwilling passengers pleading for their lives.

Lindsay Lohan may have been “in compliance” with the terms of her DUI probation, but a judge ordered the star to step up her alcohol education program classes, Usmagazine.com confirms.

I am going to order [that] this has to be done. It’s been long enough,” Judge Marsha Revel said at L.A. Superior Court in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.

Lohan, 23, who did not appear in court, must now start “attending every single week” in order to fulfill the more than six months of program time necessary by Revel’s deadline of July 15, 2010.

“This has to be a top priority whether she has a job somewhere else or doesn’t or something else comes up,” Revel said. “This has to be done once a week.”

The judge reiterated that Lohan’s other projects should not take precedence over her alcohol education program.

“Right now, the other things will take second place and this will take first place,” Revel said. (The next hearing date to assess Lohan’s progress has been scheduled for Feb. 18.)

It’s very hard to keep up with all of Lindsay’s legal issues, but back in March there was a warrant out for her arrest because she violated probation by ditching alcohol education classes. The warrant was eventually dropped once her lawyer showed that she was attending once in a while. Lindsay was unable to successfully complete the terms of her alcohol classes due to “personality conflicts” with the teacher, who reported her for missing three out of 21 classes.

That was in March, and Lindsay was ordered back then to enroll in a new class. Then she was told again in October in court that she would have to take classes and here we are in December yet she still hasn’t done it. Tell me again how it is that Paris Hilton got 45 days in jail for one barely over the limit DUI and two counts of driving on a suspended license while Lohan hasn’t seen the inside of a cell yet. Someone really needs to throw Lohan in jail if she doesn’t complete her probation requirements. It’s been over two years.

Lindsay Lohan’s mom has started a website called “Lohan House” as an easily mocked way to sell the family’s castoffs online, many at a hefty price. It looks like the Lohans are hurting after those reality show checks dried up. Along with selling old clothing, shoes and purses, LohanHouse.com has a “news” section that is both undated and out of date. The site makes references to the Lohan’s reality show on E!, “Living Lohan,” as if it’s still going on despite the fact that it ended over a year ago. Dina even claimed this summer that the show ended because E! wanted her to fake a pregnancy.

In “Lohan House” the Lohans are still relevant, Lindsay is still getting work and “Living Lohan” is still on the air. Coupled with their unwanted luxury goods, the dubious Lohan “news” is enough to make you feel a tinge sorry for the youngest Lohans: Ali, 15, and Cody, 13. (There’s also Michael Lohan, Jr., 21, a student at Ithaca College who Jezebel calls “refreshingly normal” and Lindsay of course. Anyone that’s no longer a teenager can fend for themselves in that family, and they obviously do.)

One Lohan not welcome at “Lohan House” is absent dad Michael. Michael had some drama of his own this weekend when he was reportedly thrown in jail in Medford, NY for phoning his ex girlfriend, Erin Muller, who has a restraining order against him. Under the terms of the restraining order, Michael is to have no contact with Muller. According to Michael, though, he was never arrested and didn’t spend time in jail. He told Radar “I was not arrested. Erin and I had an argument. She has an ongoing order of protection against me. She called and said I violated it by making a phone call to her. I went down there today and saw the judge and I handled it and that was it.” Law enforcement sources told Radar that he was arrested, and was “picked up, processed and released.”

Michael “I tape all my phone calls” Lohan is no stranger to the inside of a jail cell. He served nearly two years in jail on multiple DUI and assault charges and was released in March, 2007. It looks like the guy is getting bored after selling all his phone tapes of his daughter crying for help and his ex buddy Jon Gosselin confiding in him. He needs to find another stupid reality star to befriend and exploit. I hear those “Jersey Shore” kids are looking for a father figure.

Lindsay Lohan is doing some kind of ill-conceived documentary for the BBC in which she’s highlighting child trafficking in India. In this, her first effort with any kind of charity work that I can recall, Lohan isn’t shy about proclaiming her virtuousness. The 23 year-old strung out former child star tweeted that she’d saved a full 40 children in her first day’s work. “Over 40 children saved so far… Within one day’s work… This is what life is about… Doing THIS is a life worth living!!!” Later she added “Oh, and I’m talking about being in India.” Lohan has seen deleted that megalomaniacal tweet (I’m using the thesaurus today) but she already put it out there and can’t take it back now. She also deleted these tweets, (via Us Weekly) “Trafficking is a big issue here, I’m [here to do] what I can, and I will continue to do so as long as life when time permits it. Never too late to star helping others, however you can.”

Radar Online is reporting that Lohan isn’t handling her first day in India well, despite how impressed she seems with herself. There’s some kind of lack of security and she’s said to fear for her safety.

“She is a little overwhelmed and a little freaked out,” a source tells RadarOnline.com exclusively. “Lindsay is trying to be a trooper but the whole experience is a little scary.”

While the trip was originally set up through philanthropist Scott Lazerson’s Interface Foundation, RadarOnline.com has learned that Lohan is on the trip with a UK-based production company seeking to do a documentary on human trafficking.
