Are Lindsay and Samantha breaking up?

As cute as they are together, it appears that some cracks are starting to form in the Lohan/Ronson lovefest. Since they started dating several months ago Lindsay seems to have really calmed down and isn’t nearly as drunk and belligerent as she used to be. She’d still probably be considered a bitch compared to the average person, but for Lindsay Lohan she’s been doing pretty well.

All that said, I don’t think anyone ever thought she’s actually gay. Bisexual maybe – or maybe just experimenting. A lot of people do that in college. I don’t think Lindsay even graduated from high school, but she’s college-age and still at a time in her life where she might be figuring things out. And if you believe OK! Lindsay is figuring out that she’s still into men.

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson may be inseparable, but following weeks of arguments, friends tell OK! they fear that Linds will leave her DJ girlfriend — for a man. Apparently LiLo has already been flirting with guys, and cracks are seem to be appearing in the relationship.

On August 5 at the Delano Hotel’s Florida Room, Lindsay, 22, cozied up to other men whenever Sam left her side. “Lindsay was laughing and giggling with these guys,” an eyewitness tells OK!. And earlier that day, guests at the Miami hotel witnessed the couple’s repeated clashes.

“Lindsay is the aggressive one in the relationship,” an insider tells OK!. “Sam tries to focus on Lindsay, but it’s never enough.” Another friend adds, “Lindsay has to be the center of attention, or she’ll flirt with other guys to make Sam jealous.”

But back in L.A. on Aug. 6, the pair were “hand in hand and very affectionate” at Crown Bar, and on Aug. 8, they partied for Sam’s birthday. But Lindsay’s friend says, “She’ll be with the next guy who catches her eye — she can’t help it!”

[From OK! Magazine]

I think Lindsay’s calmed down not because she’s with a woman, but because of the type of person Samantha is. Theoretically if she were able to choose guys that were good for her instead of losers, she might be able to sustain some of the improvements she’s made in her life. LiLo and Sam are really cute together, and I hope they don’t break up. But if they do, I’d still bet the odds of Sam selling her out to the tabloids are a lot smaller than any guy Lindsay’s ever dated.

Lindsay Lohan set to convert to Judaism for Samantha Ronson

Lindsay Lohan must really be in love. Or be a total follower. I’m guessing it’s probably a mix of the two. According to MusicNews.com, Lohan is going to convert to Judaism for her lady love Samantha Ronson. Not because Ronson has asked her to or because they’re necessarily getting married (at least it’s not referenced directly in the article) but apparently because Lohan has gotten close with the entire Ronson clan.

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly set to convert to Judaism for her girlfriend Samantha Ronson. The 22-year-old singer – who is said to have been raised in a Catholic household – is considering altering her religious beliefs to bring her closer to DJ Sam, who she has been dating since late last year.

A source said: “Sam’s family is Jewish. Lindsay has learned a lot about Judaism from Sam and admires its beliefs.”

However, friends of the ‘Mean Girls’ actress have doubts about her intention to fully convert to the religion and think she is just doing it for attention.

The source added to Life and Style Weekly magazine: “Two years ago it was Kabbalah. Last year it was Alcoholics Anonymous. She was into ‘peace’ for a while. Whatever is of the moment, that’s Lindsay. But the one thing it does show is her commitment to Sam. She could be any religion and Lindsay would be open to it.”

[From MusicNews.com]

Someone once told me that when you have a crush on someone it’s normally because there’s some part of their personality or their life that you respect and want for yourself. That sounds like what might be going on with Lindsay a bit. Not that it’s necessarily a bad thing. But it sounds like she’s probably envious of the closeness the Ronson clan shares, and wants to be more like them. Considering what her own family is like, that makes a lot of sense.

And not only are the three siblings close, but they’re also fairly respected in their individual fields – Mark as a musician and producer; Samantha as a DJ, and Charlotte as a designer. People can argue about their individual levels of talent, but I’d argue that they all get more respect in their fields than anyone involved in Living Lohan. It makes sense that Lindsay has attached herself to people who are more stable than her own family, and given her other options, it’s probably not the worst way of dealing with her issues.

Lindsay Lohan spotted wearing ring on left hand

This past week we reported on what we still believe is a largely b.s. rumor that Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson are planning on getting married in the next few months. But either there’s a kernel of truth in the rumor (unlikely) or LiLo is trying to milk it for publicity (much more likely) because she was spotted wearing a ring on her left hand yesterday.

Lindsay Lohan is setting off another round of wedding-bell rumors. LiLo was spotted wearing a ring of diamonds on her left ring finger while lunching with Samantha Ronson yesterday at Tuscan eatery E. Baldi in Beverly Hills. But they’re not picking out new china patterns just yet…

“Sam and Lindsay are unbelievably happy and in a healthy relationship,” a pal of the couple tells me. “And like any couple in love, they speak about marriage and the future, but right now, there is no wedding planned.”

The pal says Lohan probably wore the sparkler to—shocker!—create “some more buzz.” A few hours after lunch, the two held court at a dinner party at West Hollywood’s Matsuhisa restaurant to celebrate Ronson’s 31st birthday.

No doubt Lohan will be by SamRo’s side when she deejays next Thursday at the opening party for nightlife impresario Allison Melnick’s new Apple Lounge on über-trendy Robertson Boulevard in West Hollywood.

[From E! News]

“Create ‘some buzz’” sounds a lot nicer than “work her media whoring magic” – which is how I probably would have phrased it. Like Lindsay and Sam haven’t gotten a ridiculous amount of publicity lately? And the vast majority of it has been good, too. I’d say whatever her old ratio of bad to good press was, it’s reversed now. A rational person would be at the point of dodging the paps and wearing funny masks. For Lindsay Lohan, it’s time to move the coverage from “high level of interest” to all out frenzy.

Lindsay & Samantha get coordinating tattoos

Nothing says “I love you” like needles, ink, and pain. It also says “This is going to last forever,” and “there’s no way I’ve just cursed our relationship” when you get matching tattoos with your beloved. So it can only be a good thing that Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson have added versions of each other’s ink to their own body art collections.

What’s one way to cover up a former flame and simultaneously declare your ladylove? Color in an old tattoo and have your gal-pal get one to match, if you’re Lindsay Lohan.

New pictures have surfaced of Linds and Samantha Ronson rocking identical small, black heart tattoos on their hands.

First acquired in July 2006 with then-beau Harry Morton, Lindsay’s tattoo (on her left hand between the thumb and index finger) was white in color. She has since had the tat outlined with black ink, and Ronson has replicated the heart on her own left hand.

Quick to reciprocate, Lindsay has also turned up with one of Samantha’s tattoos. Ronson has cascading red stars inked down her right arm, and now Lohan is showing off a red star on her right hand.

[From E! Online]

At least they didn’t get each other’s names. That’s about the same thing as declaring “we’re going to have a really bitter breakup in less than two months.” I was thinking it seemed sort of early for the whole matching tattoos bit, but Lohan and Ronson have been together for at least a couple months. I guess this is an important relationship step some couples just have to take. Two of my friends got matching tattoos of Nerd candies on skateboards after they’d been dating for only six weeks, and now they’re living together. Who says love is dead?

Here are Lindsay and Sam leaving Maxfields carrying matching shopping bags in Los Angeles yesterday. The last picture is a close-up of Lindsay’s red star tattoo, taken last week in New York. Images thanks to WENN.

Lohan’s dad not ready for a gay wedding

Though I don’t think anyone with half a brain believes the gossip that came out yesterday that Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson are planning on tying the knot, that hasn’t stopped creepy dad Michael Lohan from yapping to the press about it. And how he doesn’t approve.

Though in May Michael told Us Weekly his feelings about the SamRo relationship were that his daughter, “‘is a big girl, and she can make her own life choices. Then it is between her and God,’” apparently Michael has now decided to be a little less open-minded – though deliberately vague in his comments. Because that’s a better way to get press.

Gay marriage may be legal in California now, but wedding bells don’t seem to be in Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson’s immediate future. And if the couple were to wed, Lohan’s dad Michael probably wouldn’t play the proud father giving away the bride.

“I haven’t heard anything (about an upcoming wedding) from Lindsay, but if she was marrying Sam, I don’t think she’d ask me to walk her down the aisle,” says Michael. “She knows about my (Christian) faith … she just wouldn’t ask.”

That’s not to say that he doesn’t support Lindsay and a possible relationship with Ronson, he just supports her in more indirect ways.

“I want her to be happy and healthy and stay on the right path,” he says. “If I discuss (her relationship), I say that I want her to be happy.”

[From MSNBC’s The Scoop]

I feel nauseous every time I hear Michael Lohan spout his “I’ve been in too much therapy” jargon. Considering he’s always spouting off about his faith (but not doing anything useful or productive with it – just bragging about it, as far as I can tell) it seems that what Michael is implying is that Lindsay wouldn’t ask him to be part of a gay wedding because he doesn’t approve.

He doesn’t all-out say this so it’s hard to nail him on his comments. And Michael doesn’t actually say he doesn’t approve of Lindsay and Sam’s relationship or being gay in general. There’s just this tone of “wanting her to be happy” and “staying on the right path” and considering how sanctimonious he is, you can’t help but think he’s implying that being in a gay relationship is something other than the right path.

Are Lindsay and Samantha getting married?

Though Lindsay Lohan could never commit to any one guy (and why should she – she’s only 22), apparently she’s planning on committing the rest of her life to one woman. News of the World claims that Lohan and still-not-officially-acknowledged-girlfriend Samantha Ronson are getting hitched in the fall.

Lindsay Lohan set to prove she and Samantha Ronson are more than friends – she is reportedly planning to marry the DJ later this year. The pair has long refused to confirm rumours they are in a lesbian relationship, but are now reportedly planning to exchange vows in a Los Angeles commitment ceremony.

And Lohan’s mother Dina is said to be planning a lavish reception party to “welcome Sam into the family”. A source tells British newspaper The News Of The World: “Dina is still working on the date of the party but it’s looking like towards the end of the year.

“Lindsay’s new album Spirit In The Dark is out in November, so (the wedding could be held) around then. They’ve been keeping the relationship quiet for months and trying to pass each other off as ‘just good friends’. But they’ve decided it isn’t a fling – it’s for life – so they want to make their romance public.”

[From Contact Music]

I’m guessing the odds are pretty good that this story is bull, but it’s floating around there and people are getting all excited at the potential union. The idea of any Lohan entering into a marriage contract makes me pretty darn nervous, regardless of whom they’re thinking about marrying. Lindsay is only 22. And while Samantha is about to turn 31, that doesn’t make up for Lindsay’s young age. And frankly, Lindsay isn’t a mature 22. She’s a 22 who generally acts like she’s 16.

Something tells me if there is even one kernel of truth to this story, it was something Lohan said in excitement, not something they’re actually planning on doing. Though you know if Dina can use it to pimp her crappy reality show, she’ll be all over it.

Lindsay Lohan snaps back at L.A. police chief

Yesterday Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton told the press he wasn’t going to attend a meeting about creating laws to restrain the paparazzi. Clearly there are MUCH bigger issues for police to worry about in Los Angeles than photographers. You know, gangs, murder, drugs, robbery, rape… it’s a pretty long list. But unfortunately, instead of saying something along the lines of “We have even more pressing criminal matters to attend to,” Bratton basically made a smart ass remark about how dumb celebrities are; noting that the idiot trifecta of Paris/Britney/Lindsay had calmed down a lot lately.

‘If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving; Paris is out of town not bothering anybody anymore, thank God, and evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don’t seem to have much of an issue,” he told KNBC-TV.

[From OK! Magazine]

Well it makes for an amusing sound bite if nothing else. But it probably wasn’t the most professional way to say “I don’t think it’s an issue anymore.” And it was perfect Lohan bait.

Lindsay Lohan is taking no prisoners to protect her personal life and rumored relationship with d.j. pal Samantha Ronson.

On Friday, in response to L.A. Police Chief William Bratton’s comment that the city’s paparazzi problem is no longer an issue because evidently Lindsay Lohan “has gone gay,” the actress fired back with a statement of her own. And yes, it was to the paparazzi.

“Police, you shouldn’t get involved in everyone else’s business when it comes to their personal life. It’s inappropriate,” she said in a video posted on TMZ.

[From OK! Magazine]

I do enjoy how Lindsay erroneously addresses all police. I realize Lindsay Lohan isn’t smart enough to know the man’s name, but you’d think she could have been a little more specific in her phrasing. Her comments are so over-generalized and vague that it makes her come across as exceptionally stupid. Even for Lindsay Lohan.

It’ll be interesting to see if any of these paparazzi laws come into effect. John Mayer and Milo Ventimiglia were all at the meeting – which Bratton called a “complete waste of time.” He did clarify that he has a gay sister and is a fan of gay rights – so I’m not sure why he tossed that original comment in at all.

Lindsay Lohan announces Samantha is taken

Lindsay Lohan seems to be only about two steps away from officially announcing her relationship with Samantha Ronson to People. Linds followed Sam to her DJ gig at the Ultimate White Party at Shrine at the MGM Grand in Connecticut. Apparently she was pretty shy at first, generally hiding out in the deejay booth for most of the evening. But later on the Lohan we all know (and sorta/kinda/maybe love) emerged, as Lindsay mingled with the crowd and photographers.

… Seated in front of a black door, Lohan kept her head down, and alternated between sipping from Ronson’s sake glass and a bottle of water. She didn’t even dance until Ronson played Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way.” But her self-consciousness set in after the camera flashes started, and she retreated to the corner.

Later in the night Lohan grabbed one lensman’s camera and was overheard saying, “I want to show all these people how it feels, so I’m going to take their picture,” before going berserk with it. Running from side to side of the DJ booth, Lohan snapped a few pictures of Ronson while she was spinning before turning the camera on the crowd. Guests seated next to the booth were the subjects of a particularly long series of pictures because Lohan thought, “they look the sketchiest.”

At 1am, when the party wrapped up, Lohan grabbed the microphone and declared, “She’s taken!” after everyone began yelling Ronson’s name. Security moved quick when the crowd of 1,200 partiers wasn’t leaving the venue. “Lindsay snapped a little bit, and said she needed to get out of there right away. The lights were on, everyone could easily see her and they were all trying to get a picture,” said one insider.

[From the Daily News]

OK! Magazine claims that the phrasing was a little different, and what Lindsay actually said was, “’And no she’s not single!’” But the point is still pretty much the same. It seems like the two are obviously becoming more and more comfortable with their relationship, and slowly making clear that the rumors aren’t just rumors. On a side note, I did find the description of Lindsay’s behavior with the camera kind of annoying, in a vintage Lohan fashion. Regardless, I bet we see the two of them announcing their love on the cover of People within the next two months.

Dina Lohan says Samantha Ronson is like a daughter to her

I have to admit, I find the relationship between Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson to be really cute. Like, really really cute. Lindsay seemed to exclusively date douche bags when she was dating men. But Samantha seems pretty awesome – and really into Lindsay. And she doesn’t seem like the sort to sell LiLo out, unlike a few of her past paramours. And in a sense, perhaps it says something about their relationship that they haven’t made some big announcement or blogged all over their respective MySpaces. It seems like they’re with each other out of genuine affection, and that’s pretty sweet to see.

On the heels of reports that Samantha Ronson recently changed her Facebook relationship status to “in a relationship,” she and Lindsay Lohan stepped out in New York City in coordinated fedoras on Thursday. At the Sephora Celebrates Ten Years of Glamorous event, the pair kept mum, but Lohan’s mom Dina gushed about Ronson.

“I love Samantha,” Dina Lohan told reporters. “She’s like a child to me. They’re great friends and as long as my daughter is happy and healthy, it is what it is.” Ronson, wearing her usual skinny jeans and shirt, spun a mix of ’80s tunes and current hits throughout the night, and Lohan, in a slinky multi-colored sequined dress, jammed alongside her. Lohan spent the evening, drink-free, texting friends on her phone, playing with Ronson’s deejay equipment and posing for pictures.

At midnight, the two left together, holding hands.

Aww. I never thought Lindsay Lohan would do anything that would make me say that. Here are the Lohans at the Sephora Celebrates Ten Years of Glamorous on Thursday in New York City, where Ronson deejayed for the night. Images thanks to PR Photos.

Cheryl Hines praises Lindsay Lohan’s professionalism

The eternal optimist in me finds it really nice when messed up people get their lives together. Case in point: Britney Spears. Now Brit did it with the help of her parents, older brother, the courts, psychiatrists and a team of lawyers. But she’s really doing a good job of getting her life in order.

Someone who hasn’t gotten as much attention for improving her life is Lindsay Lohan. Perhaps it’s because Lindsay didn’t fall quite as far as Britney – she never ended up in a mental ward, and had no children to lose. But she did spend what seemed like three quarters of her life either drunk in clubs or in rehab. She was also very publicly shamed for her poor work ethic on the set of Georgia Rule by Morgan Creek CEO James G. Robinson in the summer of 2006.

However Lindsay is clearly trying to turn things around. Cheryl Hines, one of Lohan’s costars in the upcoming comedy Labor Pains, has praised her work ethic.

Cheryl Hines can’t curb her enthusiasm for working with Lindsay Lohan on the set of their film Labor Pains. “I have had a great time shooting with her, and when we have scenes together we have a lot of fun improvising… It usually ends in a big laugh fest, and they have to cut because we can’t talk anymore.”

Hines, who has starred with Larry David in the HBO hit Curb Your Enthusiasm since 2000, insists she expected nothing less from the 22-year-old star – even in light of Lohan’s past troubles on set. “It was what I expected,” Hines said of Lohan’s professionalism. “I honestly expected that she’s gotten herself together, and really wanted to work and that’s what she’s showing us. I’m very proud of her.”

Lohan’s movie career has been stalled by stints in rehab, but a Labor Pains producer confirmed to PEOPLE in June that those days appear to be over – Lohan showed up for work June 9 on the L.A. location and has consistently been early and well-prepared for the grueling 12-hour shoots.

[From People]

It took Lindsay almost two years to get her act together (I’m not going to go so far as to say she’s cleaned it up entirely) but it seems like she’s managed to gain a bit of maturity. And to be fair, Lindsay had to do it without the help of her parents.

No one’s saying Britney Spears’ mom and dad are examples of awesome parenting, but they at least saw their daughter had a problem and tried to step up. Dina Lohan has always maintained that nothing’s wrong with Lindsay, while Michael has begged her to find God. They’ve pretty much done whatever they could to make her problems worse.

It seems like whatever improvements Lindsay has made, she’s made on her own, or perhaps with the help of her not-quite-acknowledged girlfriend Samantha Ronson. And Labor Pains looks like it might actually be funny. Good for her.
