Liv Tyler was photographed trying to help a crying toddler that was being yelled at by a woman who looks like she could be her grandmother yesterday. Tyler bent over and tried to comfort the little girl when the woman angrily told her it was none of her business. She then went to her car and possibly called the cops. I was once behind a woman in line at Babies ‘R Us who was completely ignoring her screaming newborn. The infant sounded in such distress and everyone was trying to say soothing things to the baby. I wanted to pick up the baby and comfort it but I resisted. The woman was buying formula and she totally laughed and shrugged it off. My husband and I found it really disturbing. Usually I don’t butt in when other people are with their kids but your first instinct is to protect children when you witness something like that. When you see someone screaming at an innocent child you want to intervene, especially if you’re a mom like Liv and can imagine someone doing that to your child. Good for her for trying to do something about it. If this was a grandmother or a babysitter maybe the child’s parents will see these pictures and make sure that they get someone else to watch their little girl.

Liv Tyler has been photographed outside the gym quite a bit lately. I don’t want to give that scam artist Tracey Anderson any publicity, but Tyler has been been attending classes at the pint-sized self-promoter’s LA studio. Whatever works, I guess. Tyler is looking great, but she always does.

Liv Tyler has a new interview with Wonderland Magazine that’s both unfiltered and endearing. You can tell that she had a good rapport with the interviewer almost from the start, and she let her guard down and shared some personal information about her relationship with her father, Steven Tyler, and how she’s dealing with the pain from her divorce with the help of good friends.

On her divorce
But the truth is that, it takes a long time, but you do kind of wake up one day and you just feel a little tiny bit better…

There’s nothing worse than heartache, being lovesick. It’s like there’s a physical sickness. You go through a couple of weeks where you think , ‘Oh, I’m okay, I feel better,’ and then suddenly, out of nowhere, it hits you again… You also realise who your friends are. When Roy and I broke up, Bobby literally moved in with me and helped me get through everything. And my other best friend, Victoria, she’s with me in L.A. right now. The hardest part is when they leave… It also brings up a lot of issues: you might feel like a failure, or like there is something wrong with you. I see a lot of people run away from it, or they act like they don’t care. But if you don’t let yourself mourn, it’s going to come back and bite you on the ass. You can’t run away from yourself: you kind of have to just deal with it.”

On the paparazzi
I have more privacy in L.A. because you can run around in your yard. But the paparazzi are very weird, because they actually stalk you. Like they have someone wait in the car all the time, so whenever you leave…

I’m really boring: I take my son to school; I go to the grocery store. So I don’t play their game. But it’s confusing because they kind of trick you. Some days they’re really obvious, and then some days you’re driving and you look back for them, and they’re not there, and you’ll feel like a weird narcissist. And then you’ll think: “Oh, I’m free.” So you’ll have two weeks where you can be in your sweats with no make-up on. And then, suddenly, you realise they have been there all the time, just hiding out.

You know that relationship is still sort of hard. He’s very busy, my dad. He’s not around very much; it’s sort of hard being the daughter of a rock star. There’s definitely, at times… it can be painful… especially for me, I can’t speak for all of his…[She trails off]…

In the past few years we haven’t been very close. He has been going through a lot of things on his own and he has not been the… he hasn’t been around that much for us. So that’s been hard. But I probably shouldn’t be talking about this… I wish, I wish, I really wish he was around more, to know Milo more, and… but he has to go through what he goes through.

There’s something vulnerable and completely genuine about Tyler and I’m rooting for her and hoping she finds some closure on her relationship. Her dad Steven went to rehab last Spring and is likely having personal issues, especially considering some of the things he’s said recently to the press. Liv considered Todd Rundgren her father for most of her childhood, and she spoke of him fondly in the interview, saying “I have so much love for him… when he holds me it feels like daddy.”

You wonder if Liv is promoting anything as she doesn’t have any films out in the UK, where Wonderland is published, and she doesn’t have anything lined up, according to IMDB. I’d like to see her in more roles as she has both talent and beauty.

Webster’s defines a puma as a “large wild cat found in North and South America. Tawny- coated, it is 4.5 ft/1.5 m long with a 3 ft/1 m tail. It lives alone, with each male occupying a distinct territory; it eats deer, rodents, and cattle. It has been hunted nearly to extinction.”

Webster’s definition of a cougar is “another name for the puma.”

In other words, a puma and a cougar are the same animal. I’m not sure why cougar and not puma became the go-to word for women like Demi Moore and Sharon Stone who go for much younger men.

Apparently there is a distinction, according to the Urban Dictionary: “In the lexicon of older women seeking younger men, a jaguar is 50 and over, where the cougar is in their 40s, and the puma under 40.”

Liv Tyler may not know that puma and cougar are synonyms, but she does know her slang.

Going through her first divorce, Liv and twice-divorced friend Drew Barrymore had a ladies’ night out October 9 at The Terrace at Sunset Tower Hotel in LA, according to Life & Style.

Drew confessed to Liv, “I love dating younger guys — I’m a bona fide cougar.” Liv protested that they were too young to be cougars.

“Aren’t we pumas?” Liv asked. “I think pre-cougar is puma.”

Puma or cougar, Life & Style claims Drew “turned the whole place into a party.”

Drew, 33, who recently hooked up with Ed Westwick, 21, and has dated Fabrizio Moretti, 28, and Justin Long, 30, seemed pleased as punch with the label and ordered another round of martinis. “They were laughing so much,” says the witness. “Drew kept joking with the wait staff, inviting them to sit with her, offering to buy them shots.”

People Magazine has excerpts from an interview with Liv Tyler recently published in the UK edition of Marie Claire. The 31 year-old actress and mother of one speaks candidly about trying to find her way as she goes through a divorce from her first husband, British rocker Royston Langdon. Langdon and Tyler remain committed parents to their son Milo, who turns four in December. Tyler says she’s not ready to date again and that she’s just working through the pain of dealing with the loss of her five year marriage:

Coming to terms with the end of her five-year marriage has not been easy for the actress, despite her seemingly serene nature. “I don’t feel calm and collected. I feel neurotic, like Woody Allen,” says Tyler, 31. “I’m a Cancer and sometimes I just feel like a crab without a shell.”

Tyler who lives in New York City with the couple’s three-year-old son Milo, has her own theory when it comes to healing. “I am trying to just let myself feel it,” she says. “I think you have to mourn and you have to feel that pain.”

For now, dating remains far from Tyler’s mind. In fact, the actress says she can’t even remember the last time she had a romantic kiss. “I kiss Milo on the lips all the time but I haven’t had a kiss kiss for a very long time,” she reveals.

On what lies ahead for the actress, Tyler says she is optimistic: “I’m trying to just take one day at a time and be the best mom I can – but it is a strange time, like walking down the road with nowhere to go … We’ll see where it takes me.”

I really like Tyler and think she comes across as a kind, genuine person. I hope that she’s able to get through this difficult time in her life and move forward to a happier place, whether that involves another man or not. Tyler doesn’t have another movie in the works, according to IMDB, which may have motivated her to speak to Marie Claire and be bit more candid about what she’s going through in order to get more press. She doesn’t strike me as the type to manipulate the media, but she probably knows what she’s doing when she opens up to a magazine. She seems able to keep her distance and speak in general terms if she wants to, unlike other stars trying to promote their new country albums who just can’t stop talking about their personal lives every minute they’re handed a microphone. Yes, the unnamed but obvious woman I’m referencing is starting to bug the shit out of me with her constant blathering. Tyler, on the other hand, gets our attention for some well-placed tidbits about her life. She knows when to show some skin and when to cover it up.

Paris Fashion Week (Haute Couture, Autumn/Winter Season 2009) is in full swing across the pond and everybody who’s anybody who needs something overpriced to wear is there. At the kick-off Claudia Schiffer was giving us Virginia Woolf as a secretary and Eva Mendes looks like a double scoop of Rainbow Sherbet with sprinkles

Patricia Arquette at the Elie Saab show looks amazing. SO amazing in fact, I’m not even gonna mention the fact that she and the woman to her left should have switched shoes. Her hair is gorgeous and I love it grown out. Her make-up looks effortless and that dress is completely charming and becoming. It looks like the star of Medium is living LARGE!

Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri arrived at the Armani show as a matchy-match Sadie Hip-Hop-Hawkins couple out to win first prize. Her outfit is a ruffle dickie away from being a Texas polygamist FLDS prairie dress and his outfit is so big on him you’d think he was wearing her old clothes circa The Nutty Professor era. Miss Jackson’s hair however, is flawless. LOVE the colour (I added the ‘u’ because they are in Paris), the bangs and the length… sigh, I do miss me the curls from her ‘IF’ video though…

Linda Carter was also at the Armani show, looking stunning. At 56 years old her skin is still flawless, her clothes are still bold AND she remembers pick one thing to star in your own personal fashion show and leave the rest to support it. Those beaded wedge sandals are the perfect blend of fashion, class and the understanding of both.

This was what was sitting front row at the Chanel show. They are Her Royal Highness (I SWEAR!) Clotilde Courau, Canadian actress and 2003 Cannes Film Festival Best Actress award winner Marie-Josée Croze and Supermodel Audrey Marnay. (I know, who?) The point is, the only reason I’m putting this picture here is because on our left is Clotilde Courau, Princess of Venice and Piedmont. Now she may BE a princess, but when I saw this photo, I was all: “Who’s the lady reenacting Mommy Dearest doing an impression of the mother from Flowers in the Attic?” Yikes Princess: lighten up!

Lovely Liv Tyler, 30, is in the process of divorcing her husband of nearly five years, British musician Royston Langon. The two remain committed parents to their three year old son, Milo. Liv has the blockbuster hit The Incredible Hulk out in theaters as well as thriller The Strangers. She confirmed her split with Royston a little over a month ago, and told OK! Magazine in a recent interview that she can’t talk about it.

Liv gave a kind and somewhat revealing response when asked how she’s dealing with the end of her marriage. She said it’s “heartbreaking,” but that it’s “personal” and she’s “not ready to talk about it.”

How are you coping with the sad news about your marriage?
I’m doing okay. But that’s too personal to talk about because it’s terribly sad. Heartbreaking. I’m really not ready to talk about it.

Why did you say yes to The Incredible Hulk?
Edward Norton wrote a really great part for me. I play a scientist, which I know is unbelievable! But I have a lot of good things to do. I really enjoyed it.

Will you let Milo watch the movie?
Maybe when he’s older. He’s too young at the moment.

We just saw you in The Strangers. Do you like scary movies?
When I was a kid, I was obsessed with horror movies. But then I watched The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and it really scared me, so I was like, “Okay, I’m done with horror movies!”

When asked what she would like to do in the business that would be new for her, Liv answered that she wants to do a musical! She says she’s always wanted a chance to sing on screen.

I would love to do a musical. That’s the dream of my whole life. I always wanted to be a singer, or get to sing. I like the Old Hollywood idea of singing and dancing; it’s so theatrical and fabulous. I have a very musical family, and I enjoy music a lot.

As for what films she has coming up, Liv says she shot Smother with Diane Keaton, but is not sure “if it’s ever going to be released.” She said she did three movies in a row, took a break, and is “excited to see what happens next.”

Liv Tyler strikes me as such a good person and I hope she has a full and successful career ahead of her. She has a type of vulnerability about her that is endearing and honest. It’s got to be painful to go through a divorce, but she has many advantages in life and is sure to come out on the other side with her head high and hopefully her finances intact.

Liv Tyler and Ed Norton are the stars of the new Incredible Hulk movie, the latest Marvel Comic film adaptation. While an Incredible Hulk film came out just five years ago, directed by Ang Lee in 2005, it received mixed reviews although it was a box office hit. Critics are raving about the new action-packed Incredible Hulk film, and say it’s definitely entertaining and worth your money.

Norton plays scientist Bruce Banner who desperately seeks a cure for the affliction that turns him into a bulky green smashing creature whenever he gets angry. Liv Tyler is his love interest and William Hurt plays her father, General Thunderbolt Ross, who is also out to get Banner. Tim Routh is his nemesis, “The Abomination.”

In an interview with ET on the red carpet, Tyler described herself as a geek and says she has to work not to slouch. She said she doesn’t have a full length mirror at the apartment where she’s staying and couldn’t properly practice her red carpet pose. Both Tyler and Ed Norton said they were supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama when asked about it and expressed enthusiasm for his nomination. Marvel Comics head Stan Lee said there’s a Captain America movie coming up but that he’s not sure who will play the lead, which is rumored to be Matthew McConaughey.

I’m not too fond of Tyler’s one-shoulder short silk shift dress with the arm ruffle - it looks like something Gwyneth Paltrow would wear, especially with those shoes - but it’s Liv Tyler and she’s gorgeous and manages to pull off the look.

Liv Tyler was on The Tonight Show last night to promote her upcoming films The Strangers and The Incredible Hulk. The soft-spoken 30 year-old actress first talked about her name, Liv. She said it’s Norwegian and that her mother got the idea for the name by seeing actor Liv Ullmann on a TV Guide cover. She counts “liver lips” among her nicknames as a child.

She also discussed her mom and dad and her nontraditional childhood. Leno asked how her dad, Aeorosmith frontman Steven Tyler, was doing and she said he’s fine, and joked that her dad says that fine means “f’ed up, insecure, neurotic and emotional.” They spoke briefly about her father’s foot surgery but the fact that he was in rehab to supposedly recover from surgery was not mentioned. Liv called her mother’s 70s spread in Playboy artistic, and told a story about how she was embarrassed as a child by being dropped off at school by her mother, who wore flashy 70s club clothing.

Leno then broached the subject of Liv’s controversial appearance at the age of 16 in her father’s video “Crazy,” in which she played a teen who ran off with a friend, played by Alicia Silverstone, and ends up dancing in a strip club and scamming a guy out of his car. It includes many suggestive scenes and hints that Alicia and Liv’s characters have a sexual relationship. Liv said her dad was shocked at first when he saw the video:

“It’s funny because I was with him for the first time when he saw the video… he was a little bit shocked because there was sort of lesbian ideas going on… he wanted some things taken out. I remember that.”

Liv didn’t specify if her dad got her way and if anything was removed, but the resulting video was certainly controversial enough for 1994.

Leno asked if her dad ever gave her advice or sat her down for the “the talk,” and she said they talk about health and diet, and that he taught her how to make breakfast smoothies. She also told a funny story about how her dad made her floss her teeth as a child and then smell the food that was stuck in her mouth. She says she flosses daily now.

On splitting her pants while filming
After the break she told a funny story about splitting her pants while filming The Incredible Hulk:

“I wear the same outfit for the whole movie, a pair of really tight jeans. There was a scene where a helicopter crashes, and I have to pull William Hurt’s character out of the wreckage. So, I’m crouched down as low as I can get and I’m pulling this huge man out. Then, the director says cut, and I go outside for a quick break, and I can feel this cold draft. I reach around, and I find a foot-long rip, little g-string poking out, a white butt-cheek, everything. It was a very humbling experience.” [Transcript thanks to Splash News]

Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith, has walked his way into rehab. Pun intended.

Steven Tyler, the charismatic 60-year-old frontman for longtime Boston rockers Aerosmith and father of actress Liv Tyler, has reportedly checked himself into Las Encinas Hospital’s drug rehabilitation clinic in Pasadena, California, according to TMZ.com. At press time, a spokesperson for the band could not be reached for comment.

The treatment center is where noted addiction medicine specialist and radio talk-show host Dr. Drew Pinsky practices. It also served as the stage for Pinsky’s “Celebrity Rehab” reality series.

While the report wasn’t specific, Tyler, who once said, “Four rehabilitation centers for drug abuse later, I’ve been able to take a long, hard look at my behavior,” is said to be receiving treatment for substance abuse.

Steven was notorious for his drug and alcohol abuse in the 70’s and 80’s, but has been clean since around 1986. He and the guitarist from Aerosmith were called the ‘Toxic Twins’ because of their substance abuse. Wikipedia has no exact date for Steven being clean, but it also says that Steven has checked into rehab this time with his girlfriend, Erin Brady. I can’t find any reference to this elsewhere, but it could be true. I’m not sure if someone is trying to imply that his girlfriend could have been the one who introduced him to the drugs after 20 yeas of being clean.

This is pretty rotten timing for going into a treatment program, as Steven’s daughter Liv Tyler is going through a divorce right now, and doesn’t really need her dad entering rehab to add to her troubles.

Steven publicly revealed two years ago that he had hepatitis C, but says he cleared it from his system.

On Monday we reported that Liv Tyler was overheard talking to a lawyer about possibly divorcing her husband of five years, British musician Royston Langdon. Us Weekly, which first reported the story, said Tyler was overheard complaining that Langdon was a “leech” on her assets. The couple have since officially split.

Liv Tyler and her husband, British rocker Royston Langdon, have decided to separate, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

“Liv Tyler and Royston Langdon have confirmed their separation. They remain good friends and devoted parents to their son Milo and are requesting that their family’s privacy be respected at this time.”

Tyler, 30, and Langdon, 36, wed in 2003 in a private ceremony at a villa in the Caribbean. Their son Milo was born in December 2004.

What a sad story. Somehow they always seemed like a fairly happy couple to me. Probably because they lived a pretty regular life. You didn’t see them at every party and opening, and they both seemed pretty devoted to their son. Hopefully they’ll manage to have an amicable relationship after this, and still be great parents.
