Matt Damon brought his wife Lucy to Venice, groped her on the red carpet

wenn3493468

I’ve already covered the photos of Dame Goop at the Venice Film Festival, so here is her costar, Matt Damon and his shiny head too. I know he shaved his head for a movie, but I really, really dislike this look on him. He looks so much hotter with hair. But! I like that now that he’s 40, he’s finally “filled out”. Long gone is his boyish, skinny (but built) body – his face has filled out and he seems like he’s carrying around twenty pounds that he’s never going to lose. It looks good on him. Sidenote: can you believe that he’s 40?!?! When did everyone get so old?

Anyway, here’s Matt and Lucy at the premiere of Contagion. Lucy wore Gustavo Cadile, which looks kind of like vintage Badgley Mischka, or current Elie Saab. I don’t love the dress, but I think it’s kind of cool and unusual that Lucy is showing off her tan lines. In the age of fake-bakes and tanning beds, it’s nice to see someone who came by their tan the old-fashioned way. I always like that Lucy looks like a normal person – she’s really pretty, sure, but she looks like a normal mom of four who just happens to be married to a movie star. I also like that Matt is groping his wife a bit – that’s his hand on her ass. Now we know why she keeps getting pregnant.

wenn3493457

By the way, Matt told reporters that his wife’s nickname for him is “Red Alert” because of how he fusses over their kids. Matt said: “I’m probably more protective than I’ve ever been now that I have children. My wife [Luciana]‘s nickname for me is ‘Red Alert.’ I sometimes check to see if the kids are breathing. I tend be a little overprotective without trying to be a helicopter parent.” Aw… is it possible that Matt is really and truly this nice and decent? Is it possible that he loves his wife and kids, that he has a great marriage and that he’s truly the exception to the “Hollywood douche-cheater” rule? Fingers crossed.

Matt Damon on his wife: “I met her and everything got easy after that”

fp_6762813_adjustmentbureau
Matt Damon says so many nice things about his wife of nearly six years, Luciana, that you wonder if they ever fight. Like what’s life like at the Damon mansion in Miami? When Matt isn’t on set do they play happily with their kids during the day, marveling at the cute things they do and letting nannies change diapers? Do their evenings consist of sitting down to chef prepared gourmet meals and then retiring to their huge master suite to have kinky sex? I’m sure that’s just my fantasy and that life is still a pain in the ass for super rich married people who seem to be hot for each other, but it’s probably less of a pain.

On Ellen, Damon told the story of how he met his wife in Miami where he was somewhat accidentally filming that otherwise bad career move, Stuck on You. (He never names the film, which goes to show how much he thinks of it.) He almost didn’t go out that night, but then he reluctantly went to a bar, saw his wife working there across the room and the rest is history. It’s also a nice tie-in to promote his new movie, about fated romance vs. career, The Adjustment Bureau.

On turning 40 and “the big questions that weren’t answered when I turned 30″
Well I always hoped that I would meet someone that I wanted to spend my life with and start a family with and then that happened. But before that happens, you’re going, “I wonder if I’m ever going to meet somebody.” And then I met her and everything got easy after that.

On meeting his wife at the bar where she worked
I decided to do this movie with the Farrelly brothers in 2002. I met with them and we talked about it. I made the decision to do that which was a big decision. We were supposed to shoot in Hawaii and then the movie got moved to Miami. I had never really hung out in Miami. One night in the middle of the shoot, the crew, a couple guys, said, “We’re going to get a beer somewhere.” I said, “I’m not really into it.” They said, “Come on,” and kind of dragged me along. We ended up at a bar where my wife was the bartender. I literally saw her across a crowded room, literally, and eight years and four kids later, that’s my life. I don’t know how else our paths would’ve crossed if that didn’t happen. If all those things didn’t happen.

[From the Ellen Degeneres show, received via e-mail]

Damon’s interview with Ellen will air today and I can’t wait to watch it! The guy always cheers me up when I see him interviewed. He has a real joy for life and he’s genuinely funny. It’s also touching to hear a celebrity gush about their partner and seem to really mean it, too. I don’t get the impression that Damon has much to hide, but he’s also one of the best actors in the world so I could be surprised. He does play “angry” exceptionally well.

Matt Damon doesn’t spank his kids, but does he spank his wife?

wenn3003553
Here’s a little throwaway article about Matt Damon in People, in which he addresses an upcoming scene in True Grit where his character spanks his onscreen daughter a girl with a switch. Damon said that he never spanks his daughters, and Kaiser and I had a little back and forth about whether Damon would spank us in bed. I’ve done it occasionally, and it can be fun but it’s not my thing really. I’d let Damon do whatever, although he strikes me as somewhat vanilla in bed. Like he’s not into kinky stuff but still knows how to have a good time. You know, I blame Kaiser for getting me to think this way. She has corrupted me so much. I now look at men on the street like they’re sex objects (and we have so many hot guys in Berlin – you should visit!) and try to imagine what kind of sex celebrities prefer. I love my job.

Anyway, here’s what Damon told People:

In a key scene in the new Coen Brothers Western True Grit, Damon, playing a boastful Texas Ranger, takes his costar Hailee Steinfeld – who turned 14 last week – over his knee and wallops her with a wooden reed. But that’s a long way from Damon’s real life with his four young daughters.

“I definitely don’t spank ‘em,” the star, 40, told PEOPLE at the movie’s New York premiere on Tuesday.

Attending the gala screening with wife Luciana, Damon said he and the filmmakers took precautions to make sure Steinfeld wouldn’t actually get hurt filming the spanking scene.

“It’s a scene in the movie that needs to be there for a whole host of reasons,” he said. “And so, they just put a big pad on Hailee. And we practiced. And I said, ‘Hailee, does that hurt?’ And she said, ‘I can’t even feel it.’ ”

The whole family got to visit Damon on location for the Western, which was shot in New Mexico and Texas and stars Jeff Bridges as U.S. Marshal Reuben J. “Rooster” Cogburn, the role that won John Wayne a Best Actor Oscar in a 1969 screen version. This new take on the tale more closely follows the 1968 novel by Charles Portis. (The singer Glen Campbell played Ranger La Boeuf in the earlier version.)

“They were interested in seeing the horses,” Damon said of the family visit to the set. “So, we got some pictures of them with the horses.”

At home, is it tough to control four young women running roughshod? “Yeah, it’s kind of nuts,” Damon says. “The alarm goes off, and [expletive] starts flying.”

[From People]

I love how he describes his home life “sh*t starts flying.” Lucy is a lucky bitch but I’m sure she puts up with a lot from Damon. He strikes me as argumentative, but that’s probably because he’s so good at playing angry. I bet he spoils his daughters and is a doting pushover dad.

True Grit is out in the US on the 22 of December and is said to be Oscar bait. It would be great if Damon could win another Oscar.

Matt Damon brings out his poor wife Luciana six weeks after she gave birth

true_grit_016_wenn5585987

Everybody will probably end up seeing the Coen Brothers’ remake of True Grit because, well, it stars Jeff Bridges and Josh Brolin and Matt Damon, and for goodness sake, it’s a Coen Brothers’ western! Why not? But that doesn’t mean True Grit is a big awards contender – they got shut out of the Globes, but they’ll probably end up with some critics awards and bigger nominations for the guild awards and maybe even some Oscars. We’ll see. Anyway, last night was the big NYC premiere for the film, and the only star missing was Josh Brolin (boo). These are some photos of Matt Damon and his wife Luciana (Lucy), who just gave birth, like, six weeks ago. So cut her a break, you know? She’s over this junk, and Matt clearly adores her, so let’s tone down the “she hasn’t lost the baby weight!” stuff. Personally, I think they look really sweet together.

A little Jeff Bridges, for fun:

Jena Malone walked the red carpet too – she’s not in the movie, so I’m not sure why, other than she just wanted to see the film. Anyway, I just wanted to ask – what’s going on with her? Why is she so drastically thin?

Matt Damon & Luciana welcome baby girl Stella Zavala

wenn2729403

Matt Damon and Luciana have welcomed their third daughter together! Lucy gave birth on Wednesday (!) and they just released the birth announcement on Saturday. Damn, Matt really keeps his life private, doesn’t he? There were no reports, to my knowledge, about the two of them even entering a hospital. Anyway, as previously reported (when Matt acknowledged it on the red carpet), it was another girl, their third together, although they have a fourth daughter who Matt is a step-father to, and who he treats as his own flesh-and-blood. Lucy and Matt named their baby girl Stella, and Stella joins big sisters Alexa, Isabella and Gia. Lots of “ends in -a” names, correct?

Matt Damon and his wife Luciana have their hands full.

The couple, already raising three children, welcomed a girl, Stella Zavala Damon, who was born on Wednesday in New York.

“Mom and baby are both healthy,” Damon’s rep tells PEOPLE. “The whole family is thrilled.”

Damon, who turned 40 earlier this month, and Luciana, 35, wed in 2005 and have two children together – Isabella, 4, and Gia, 2. Luciana also has a daughter, Alexa, from a previous marriage.

Damon currently stars in Hereafter, which opened wide on Friday.

[From People]

My name ends in “a” (my REAL name), so I have some love for that system. It does seem a little strange that they would use that system for every single girl though. What about an Elizabeth? A Harper? A Karen? Even mix it up with the middle names. But no, every little girl deserves a name straight out of a Harlequin romance. Stella especially is over-played in Hollywood circles, because of famed acting coach Stella Adler. And because Stella means “star” – which seems a little on the nose. Anyway, enough bitching. Congratulations to Matt and Lucy, and the whole gang of women. This is Matt’s last time around with a newborn!

Matt Damon & Luciana are expecting another girl – their fourth!

fp_5873832_hereafter_premiere_nyc_101010

I read this on Tuesday, but I didn’t think it was true. Or rather, I didn’t think it was confirmed. But it turns out that Matt Damon did confirm that he and his wife Luciana are having yet another daughter – their third together, plus Lucy has another daughter from a pre-Damon relationship. So in another month, Matt will be in a household with FIVE women. That’s some Kardashian-Jenner junk, for real.

He’s being outnumbered! Matt Damon and wife Luciana Barrosa are expecting another girl, Damon tells UsMagazine.com. The Oscar-winning actor, who turned 40 last week, and Barrosa already have two daughters, Isabella, 4, and Gia, 2, as well as Barrosa’s daughter, Alexis, 11, from a previous relationship.

Their new baby is due next month.

“I’m thrilled,” Damon told Us Sunday at the New York Film Festival’s Hereafter premiere. “I can’t wait to meet her.”

Damon — who quietly wed Luciana in 2005 — has credited his kids with keeping him grounded in Hollywood.

“It’s pretty easy to kind of lose your way… having kids is really helpful,” he once told Parade magazine. “They kind of disabuse you of the notion of your greatness pretty quickly. There’s a routine that you get into with kids that precludes you from going back to your single days. I’m probably more boring than I used to be. I go to bed earlier and I get up earlier.”

[From Us Weekly]

I don’t see Matt as the kind of man who is in any way bummed to have a house full of girls – unlike Ben Affleck, who I think actually actively wants a son. Plus, with four little girls, chances are that one of them will be a baseball-loving tomboy, right? And if not, Matt should just be prepared to be shellacked in glitter for the next two decades. There are totally worse things.

Matt Damon & his very pregnant wife Lucy look hot at ‘Hereafter’ premiere

hereafter_01_wenn3043819

Last night was the premiere of Matt Damon’s new film, Hereafter, which was directed by Clint Eastwood. Matt walked the red carpet with his wife Luciana or “Lucy”. I know many of you bitches don’t like Lucy and spin wild conspiracy theories about her, but I think she’s probably a really nice woman. Matt isn’t a fool, and I think he just went for a nice, low-key woman who wanted to have a big family, just like him. I’m kind of losing count as to which pregnancy she’s on – this is her third baby with Matt, right? They’ll have three kids and Matt is step-dad to her daughter from a previous relationship.

hereafter_12_wenn3043830

Maybe he keeps knocking her up because she looks so cute when she’s pregnant? Lucy looks seriously lovely in this animal-print dress, especially from the side, where you can see she’s carrying really well. And I’ll just say a word about CB’s lover, Matt Damon: my God, he’s looking f-cking hot these days. After gaining and losing weight for roles over the years, Matt seems to have finally solidified and “filled out” – keeping a boyish quality while still finally looking like a handsome MAN. Also, I f-cking love his glasses. I’ve needed to get new frames for about a year, and I think I’m going to bring these photos in and tell my optometrist that I want these frames.

hereafter_02_wenn3043961

All in all, Lucy and Matt are such a hot couple. And I buy it, you know? I buy that they’re in love and they’re happy and that he honestly adores his wife. Does that make me naïve? I don’t care. I buy it. As for the film – well, I don’t really want to see it. It looks depressing, and like it’s… grief-porn, I guess. Here’s the trailer:

Eh. Back to the red carpet – Clint looks like hell… although it’s a beautiful kind of hell. I’m glad he’s not getting any work done. But my God, he looks old and grumpy. There are totally worse things.

Matt Damon compares Ben Affleck’s career to Clint Eastwood’s

fp_5729874_thetown_ram_0914
Ideally Kaiser should be doing this post on the Boston premiere of The Town since two of her men are in this film: The Hamm and Jeremy Renner. She graciously offered it to me, though, as my all time favorite, Matt Damon, was there with his pregnant wife, Luciana. I get dibs when Damon is involved. Damon and Luciana were dressed casually in jeans and black t-shirts and both looked adorable. We don’t know how far along Luciana is exactly with her fourth child, but Damon told People that she’s in her last trimester and joked that he’s been dodging punches from her. He also said Luciana “looks amazing” and added “she’s been pregnant basically for more than half of the last five years and she’s been nursing the other half so I’ve definitely asked about as much as I can from my wife.”

Affleck’s better half, Jennifer Garner, wasn’t at the premiere last night. She’s been working in New York City filming Arthur, and may have had other commitments. Damon spoke to the AP and had high praise for Affleck’s directing skill. He compared his friend’s career to Clint Eastwood’s in that Eastwood also starred in a few clunkers before he became a renowned director:

Even as Affleck delivered hits such as “The Sum of All Fears” and “Paycheck,” critics perpetually knocked his performances as stiff and leaden.
The lowpoint was “Gigli,” the 2003 bomb he made with Jennifer Lopez amid the maelstrom of gossip over their romance, before he settled down and had a family with Jennifer Garner.

Then came “Hollywoodland,” which earned Affleck a Golden Globe nomination. He followed with his acclaimed directing debut on “Gone Baby Gone.”
Now Affleck returns with “The Town,” a genre-bending bank-heist thriller that is loaded with action but also heavy on gritty working-class drama and sweet romance. He directs and stars, delivering what Damon called the “best performance I’ve seen in a long time.”

“This one is really, I think, the one where people are just going to remember who he is and let all of the other stuff go,” said Damon, who shared a screenplay Academy Award with Affleck for “Good Will Hunting.” “He’s just a monumentally talented guy. In a lot of ways, I always think of Clint, because Clint was doing orangutan movies, and people weren’t taking him as seriously. And look at the second half of his career. He’s an icon. And I really feel like that’s the kind of career Ben’s going to have.”

Damon has starred in two films directed by Eastwood, last year’s “Invictus” and the upcoming “Hereafter.” So he’s in a good position to compare and contrast his pal Affleck and grand old master Eastwood.

Hearing of Damon’s high praise, Affleck smiled.

“Who needs a publicist when you’ve got a friend like Matt?” Affleck said in an interview at the Toronto International Film Festival, where “The Town” played in advance of its theatrical release on Friday. “I’ve got to pay this guy.”

[From AP via Yahoo! News]

Damon could be right – The Town looks incredible and could go a long way in resurrecting Affleck’s career. As for how Affleck handled the dual roles of directing and acting, his costar Rebecca Hall said it seemed effortless and was impressive to watch. “I couldn’t get my head around the idea that someone could think about the whole story and that [his character] at the same time, because in a way, they’re sort of mutually exclusive. But he’s so incredibly smart. His sharpness and intelligence just pervade everything he does.” I’m excited for this film. It’s out in the US on September 17, and in Germany where I live on September 23. That’s excellent news as we often have to wait over a month to see new movies. I bet it’s going to earn some great reviews and it should be well remembered during awards season.

Here are photos from the premiere featuring Matt, Ben, Jeremy Renner looking cute, Jon Hamm dapper in a twill cap, Rebecca Hall in yet another fashion failure, Blake Lively playing peek-a-boob, and Chris Cooper. I love him!

Matt Damon praises his ‘great wife’

wenn2790005
Matt Damon once called marriage “a ridiculous thing to do,” but added that he liked being married to his wife Luciana. Five years of marriage and almost four kids later, Matt and Luciana are still going strong and he’s still singing her praises. Matt told a reporter at the Ante Up for Africa poker tournament over the weekend that Luciana helps manage the family around his work commitments and that “she really keeps it together.” Luciana is currently pregnant with their third child together, which will be her fourth.

If Matt Damon wants to find out anything about his wife’s pregnancy he just needs to ask their kids.

“They track its progress in mommy’s belly,” he said Saturday while attending the Ante Up for Africa charity poker event in Las Vegas.

His wife, Luciana, is set to deliver the couple’s fourth child this fall. They currently have three daughters: Alexia, 11, who is Luciana’s child from a previous marriage, Isabella, 4, and Gia, 22 months.

The kids “are very excited” about another addition to the family, Damon, 39, said.

But being a family man and major motion picture star isn’t easy for the former Sexiest Man Alive. Damon credits “a great wife” for helping him juggle his responsibilities.

“She really keeps it together,” he said at the poker event at the Rio All Suites Hotel, hosted by Oceans 11 pal Don Cheadle. “We just talk it out and work it all out. You say, this is the job and this is the time commitment and this is where it will be. I’m a lot easier to hire if you’re doing movies in New York.”

[From People]

Luciana is a lucky bitch, but I’m sure she earns it by patiently putting up with more crap from Damon than we can imagine. Just because Damon is a dreamboat who manages his image expertly doesn’t mean that he’s an ideal husband. (That’s just what I tell myself to get through the days. I’ve seen the Bourne movies too many times.) Whatever goes on in their marriage, these two seem very much in love and must still be keeping things hot. They were spotted making out at a club just a couple of weeks ago. Oh sigh.

Here are some new photos of Damon at Ante Up For Africa. He lost weight! I never get tired of looking at this guy. Matt and Luciana are shown on 3/27/10. Credit: WENN.com

Matt Damon’s wife Luciana is pregnant with their third child

Matt Damon and wife Luciana at The 24th American Cinematheque Award in LA
Two weeks ago, Kaiser and I were e-mailing about Matt Damon’s wife Luciana and Kaiser thought she was pregnant. She wrote, “the last time I saw her was when Matt got the lifetime acheivement thing, I thought she looked pregnant in some photos.” I thought it was just Lucy’s dress, but it turned out Kaiser was right! Matt Damon’s wife is expecting her third child with the Oscar winning hunk. Matt and Lucy are parents to three daughters: Isabella, 3, Gia, 19 months, and Alexia, 11, from Lucy’s first marriage. US Weekly has the news, along with some nice earlier quotes from proud dad Matt about what fatherhood means to him:

Matt Damon and his wife Luciana are expecting another baby, his rep confirms to UsMagazine.com exclusively…

Damon — who quietly wed Luciana at NYC City Hall in December 2005 — has credited his kids with keeping him grounded in Hollywood.

“It’s pretty easy to kind of lose your way… having kids is really helpful,” he told Parade magazine. “They kind of disabuse you of the notion of your greatness pretty quickly. There’s a routine that you get into with kids that precludes you from going back to your single days. I’m probably more boring than I used to be. I go to bed earlier and I get up earlier.”

He said he hopes his daughters take after their mother. “My wife is a very wise and a very thoughtful person. Hopefully, they’ll inherit that,” Damon said.

Added the actor (who supports charities including One, which fights AIDS and poverty in third world countries): “From me, I hope they’ll inherit a sense of social justice and a desire to continue some of those programs that I’m involved with. Maybe not those exact ones, but hopefully, something to further social justice.”

[From US Weekly]

I wonder how far along Lucy is, as she didn’t look pregnant at all to me a month ago. It’s hard to tell with the dress she was wearing, though. One quote of Matt’s that US doesn’t mention is a funny reference he made last year to the fact that he’s the only male in a household of girls. He said “I live with women and girls so I don’t have control over anything.” Matt has that in common with his old friend Ben Affleck, and the National Enquirer ran a story last year that the two of them were suffering from “estrogen overload.” I bet Matt is hoping for a boy, but imagine he’ll be thrilled with another girl too. Congratulations to Matt and Lucy on their upcoming arrival!
