I always forget that Maddox Jolie-Pitt has the same birthday as my mom. Maybe that’s something I should NOT try to remember, right? Anyway, Maddox’s birthday was Friday, and the little guy turned the big 10. I don’t remember my tenth birthday, but I’m sure it involved ice cream cake and…? Maddox’s birthday was fancier, of course. Madd got to go to a show in London! Angelina and Brad took Madd and the three other older kids to see a matinee of Wicked on London’s West End. These are photos of the clan as they leave the theatre. Brad has been filming around London for weeks now, and I guess they haven’t made the move to Scotland yet. Tell me this – is it weird that Maddox had to spend his birthday with his younger siblings? What if his birthday wish was “some alone time without being overrun by younger children”?

Maddox Jolie-Pitt and his famous family took a trip to the marvelous land of Oz for his tenth birthday. On Saturday, a day after Maddox turned 10, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt treated their eldest to a matinee performance of Wicked — the smash Broadway musical — on London’s West End.

Maddox was photographed with mom Jolie, 36, dad Pitt, 47, and sister Shiloh, 5, near the theater. Sister Zahara, 6, and brother Pax, 7, were also on hand for the theater event. Word of the superstar brood’s presence spread to the cast of the show.

“There was definitely a big excitement backstage! Everyone was on a high,” a Wicked castmember tells Us Weekly. And the Jolie-Pitts weren’t perched a in a VIP box, either — sitting in the orchestra, but surrounded by a few empty, reserved seats.

What did Maddox, Shiloh and the gang think of the show, about the earlier lives of witches of Oz (Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda, the Good Witch of the North)?

“They were very happy and quite quiet,” the castmate says. “The children seemed fascinated by the spectacle.” The group did not, however, visit backstage.

The family have been hanging out in England as Pitt shoots World War Z — and, despite Saturday’s fun outting, Jolie’s not having the best time ever.

“She’s not pleased being at home while he’s on set,” an insider told Us. “These are the longest hours he’s spent on a set in a while, so it’s just her and the kids with not much to do.”

Does anyone else find it amazing that the kids were so well-behaved? Those are four little kids, in the middle of a crowded theatre, seeing an exciting show. If they got over-excited, it would be perfectly understandable. But reportedly, they just enjoyed the show and they were good kids. Is it possible that they just really are good kids and not the wild hellions that the tabloids claim?

You can also see in the photos that Shiloh is clutching a stuffed, winged monkey doll from the show. How come Shiloh gets a doll on Maddox’s birthday? MOM!!! Also: Brad looks hot in blue. Angelina looks meh. I’d rather see her in black than nude, though.

So I finally got a chance to read Star Magazine’s full cover story on Angelina’s voodoo, and her affairs with everyone from Ralph Fiennes (hot), Lenny Kravitz (meh) and Ethan Hawke (ew). First, let me point out that in Star’s print edition, they put up photos of Ralph, Ethan and Lenny, all of them shirtless, side-by-side. It’s kind of awesome. All three look like they’re fresh from mounting La Jolie. Anyway, here are some additional highlights from the story:

The Ethan Hawke affair in 2003, on the set of Taking Lives: “They hooked up while they were shooting… Angie and Ethan couldn’t keep their hands to themselves, and they spent a lot of nights together in their hotel suite… but it didn’t last because Ethan was two-timing Angelina.”

Angelina had a “conniving plan” to steal Brad: “She always had a crush on Brad. She first fell in love with him when he was in Interview With A Vampire. She told her entourage about this fantasy years before they got together, complaining that Jen was a boring choice for his wife.”

Lenny Kravitz Affair: They met in 1990s. “Angie and Lenny would hook up all the time.”

She‘s done orgies too: “She’s experienced S&M and orgies… she wanted to be tied up with leather straps and be dominated by men and women, and liked the sex to be rough. It’s the forced submission she found exciting, the inability to break free.”

Voodoo: “She keeps packets of weird powders made from ground-up herbs and roots close to her body… Brad has always turned a blind eye to her quirks.”

I like that even Star seems to dismiss the sh-t as “quirks”. Meanwhile, The National Enquirer also has a funny story about Brangelina – according to them, Maddox is now completely in love with Johnny Depp (HA!), and Brad was not pleased AT ALL.

Johnny became like a second dad to the 8-year-old son of Brad and Angelina Jolie while filming The Tourist with Angie in Venice, Italy, pals say. And the chummier Maddox got with Johnny, the more Brad stewed, an insider revealed.

What’s more, Brad says it’s ALL Angie’s fault! Maddox was only following his mom’s lead – “It was a dream shoot for Angelina, and even more of one for Maddox – because he got to visit his ‘Pirate’ hero on the set.”

“Maddox is going through a pirate phase – he’s all about pirate toys, eye patches and stuffed parrots… he likes to talk in a mock pirate voice.”

When Maddox met Johnny, he begged Depp to “talk pirates” with him. Angelina encouraged the friendship, but Brad was left steaming.

Lastly, we have In Touch’s latest story about how Angelina and Brad hate each other. This one seems terribly thrown together, even more so than In Touch’s usual hate-fest. According to their source, Angelina picked a fight with Brad in the middle of the party they went to in Malibu last weekend. Angelina “flipped out” because Maddox and Pax were “rough-housing” and Brad pulled Angelina aside and told her she was “overreacting and being ridiculous”. After that, “Angelina sulked for the rest of the day… she hates when Brad is undermining her authority.” Angelina is now Cartman from South Park.

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and some members of the Jolie-Pitt clan emerged from hiding yesterday, Saturday. They appeared in Malibu! Last I heard, they were still in Europe, but it looks like they came home to Malibu for a little sun, surf and alcoholic beverages. These photos are the only ones we have access to – they’re mostly of Maddox and Pax playing on the beach, and of Brad looking extremely grizzly – like, hairy than ever. Like I need to check him for ticks, like I do with my dog. The Daily Mail and Us Weekly have photos of Angelina too. There are random children in other photos, so I’m thinking there’s some kind of beach party where Brad invited other families, or maybe some of his family? They could be Pitt cousins. Oh… Us Weekly says that they weren’t even at their Malibu property, they were at someone else’s party. Brad had a margarita! Angelina had wine. According to an eyewitness, they were very “affectionate”. Of course they were. Angelina probably needs to get liquored up to touch Brad’s insane scruff.

Back in the states after months in Venice, Italy, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie kicked off the holiday weekend Saturday at a pal’s private beach party in Malibu, Calif. Joining the couple for the shindig were two eldest sons Maddox, 8, and Pax, 6. (Zahara, 5, Shiloh, 4, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 22 months, stayed behind.)

Quaffing a margarita, Pitt, 46, chatted with pals on the beachside deck, with Jolie, 34, drinking white wine beside him.

“Brad was very affectionate,” a witness tells UsMagazine.com. “He put his arm on Angie’s wrist and was always rubbing her back or resting his hand on her shoulder.”

Maddox and Pax, meanwhile, hit the surf on boogie boards. “Brad and Angelina were watching and pointing with big smiles on their faces,” the observer says. “At one point, Pax was packing sand between his hands to make a ball and then throwing it as far as he could.” The two buddies “liked trying to outdo one another.”

And while their famous parents watched their fun from afar, the celeb kids “seemed independent and did their own thing without ever having to check in with their parents.”

“Brad and Angelina seemed very trusting of their boys [and] wrapped up with each other,” the witness adds. “They were having a good time relaxing and enjoying the great weather.”

Maddox and Pax seem to be playing with boogie boards. I remember the summer I discovered how much fun boogie boards and the ocean were. I got such a crazy tan that summer! I think I was 13 years old. Damn. Now I wish I was sitting by the ocean getting a tan. Motherf-cker!!!

As it turns out, even though the only initial photos were of Brad Pitt and Maddox arriving at Miami International Airport ahead of the Super Bowl, Angelina came too! Maybe she came on a different flight, maybe she and God have an arrangement where she can just fly to Miami on an angel’s wings or something. Anyway, several photographers got photos of Brad, Angelina and Maddox in some kind of sky box, celebrating the Saints’ win last night. Unfortunately, it doesn’y look like we’ve got access to those photos, so you can see the cuteness here or here.

At this point, it seems Maddox and Brad are now die-hard Saints fans, and Brad managed to score some tickets to the big game. Brad also took Maddox to a NFC Divisional Playoff Game in New Orleans last month, and he and Maddox got to sit right on the field – with Patricia Clarkson! There is no sign that Brad is meeting with Patricia in Miami, though, although I’m positive he’s sending her some sexy texts (the gerbils told me).

Brad Pitt and Maddox took off from LAX today headed to Miami to attend tomorrow’s Super Bowl! Maddox has become quite the little Saints fan after spending so much time in New Orleans where they own a house. Brad and Mad went to a game in January, and the little guy was already decked out in a jersey for today’s flight. The Super Bowl is always a star-studded event, but with the Jolie-Pitts joining the group it should be an especially exciting Sunday.

Speaking of the gerbils and their gossipy ways, Ian Halperin wrote an article for The Daily Mail over the weekend, and he’s still pushing the “Brad and Angelina are seriously already broken up, just wait for it… wait for it… I’m not lying I swear, just wait for it” story. I think Halperin is a f-cking moron, a delusional hack and a complete disgrace, but if you’d like to read through a work of pure fiction, the full Daily Mail piece is here. Some of the highlights include Halperin swearing up and down that Angelina can’t even sit down to a read a book without spitting, hissing and screaming at Brad over nothing; that Brad has turned to Drew Barrymore for help and a shoulder to cry on; that Angelina and Brad have decided to stay quiet about their split for several months, then suddenly announce it, like Guy Ritchie and Madonna.

Honestly, though, one of my favorite parts of the story is Halperin’s ideas about what Angelina will do post-split. Halperin claims that when they announce the split, Angelina “will have her eyes on a new man. As in the past, it is likely to be someone already in a marriage or attached. Jolie’s romantic ambitions now run far beyond showbusiness.” Apparently, she’s got her eye on President Clinton or Prince William. Oh, snap! Angelina Clinton? Angelina, Princess of Wales? That would be epic!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have split up! For a day. Brad took his oldest, Maddox, to New Orleans for the Saints v. Arizona Cardinals game in the Superdome on Saturday. For some strange reason, these photos are of Brad and Maddox sitting with Louisianan Patricia Clarkson as they all watch the Saints warm-up. Random, yes? The tabloids will probably make Clarkson the next player in the drama – “Angelina throws bucket of fish at Brad after she finds his sexy texts to Patricia Clarkson!” Anyway, the game (football, yes?) was the NFC Divisional Playoff Game, whatever that means (basketball?). The Saints won, so… great! I don’t know if Brad was in New Orleans as part of Make It Right, or he and Maddox just wanted to take in a game, or what.

But I do know that Angelina, Zahara and Shiloh weren’t in New Orleans with the boys! Radar had photos of Angelina and her older girls out food shopping at Whole Foods in Sherman Oaks, California on Saturday. We don’t have access to the photos, but you can see them here. Zahara and Shiloh appear to be carrying their blankies. Angelina is wearing a grey poncho, so… the shapeless sack look is back!

Back to Brad and Maddox – yes, Brad still has that f-cking goatee crap. I’m including some extreme close-ups of it, in all of its goaty glory. I’m beyond defending that thing. It’s totally fug, and I think Brad is just growing that sh-t out because he doesn’t give a crap what we think. I will say this though – I will defend Brad’s aging. If he shaved that sh-t off, he would be a very handsome 40-something man who looked his age, and I do love his crow’s feet and his laugh lines. He looks like a man, not a pretty boy.

The knit cap should go, though. It makes me miss the newsboy cap.

While Angelina Jolie was working her ass off doing reshoots on Salt yesterday (and in her downtime reading a book about Afghan girls’ schools), Brad Pitt took their two oldest boys out for some play time. Brad brought Pax and Maddox to Dave and Busters, which was the second time (we know of) that Maddox got to go. There are actually photos of Pax smiling as they leave! I’m sure Pax smiles all the time, but he’s the Jolie-Pitt child who looks most terrified of the paparazzi, so it’s nice to see him enjoying himself out in public. Oh, and Brad’s brother Doug and Doug’s son joined them too! It’s a boys’ day out for Brad Pitt and sons Maddox and Pax!

The star, 46, and his younger brother Doug took the two boys to Dave & Buster’s in New York City’s Times Square Wednesday afternoon, UsMagazine.com confirms. (Pitt took Maddox to the same Dave & Busters back in September.)

While at the arcade restaurant, Pitt helped Pax, 6, with the controls on “The Big One,” an oversized crane used to grab stuffed animals. After several attempts, they won a giant stuffed animal.

The group — surrounded by four security guards — then moved on to war game “Razing Storm.” Pax and Maddox, 8, took hold of the life-size guns and shot at the arcade screen for a few minutes before moving on.

While the bearded Pitt watched them play, an eyewitness tells Us he handed out extra Dave & Buster’s game cards to a few children. One boy jumped up and down in excitement when the star gave him the card and patted him on the back, the source says.

When a crowd began gathering, Pitt, Doug and the kids got in an elevator to leave. As the doors closed, one onlooker yelled out, “I love Jennifer Aniston!”

Although Pitt didn’t look amused, his brother Doug laughed out loud, an eyewitness says.

Their afternoon out came one day after Pitt was photographed greeting Angelina Jolie with their two daughters, Shiloh, 3, and Zahara, 5. The clan has been braving the 30-degree temperatures in NYC as Jolie finishes several re-shoots of her action flick Salt.

I’ve always liked Brad’s relationship to his brother Doug. They seem genuinely tight, and it’s cool that Doug and at least part of his family are in New York to spend time with Brad, Angelina and the clan. Oh, and I love the boys’ style. Here are new photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at last night’s premiere of Invictus, the film directed by Clint Eastwood (who did Changeling with Jolie last year), starring Morgan Freeman (who did Wanted with Jolie last year) and Matt Damon (who is friends with both Pitt and Jolie). The Brange brought out little Maddox too! Madd looks really cute. Look, he borrowed his daddy’s fedora! And Brad looks like death warmed over. Angelina looks… awake. F-ck, is she wearing a muu-muu? Oh, Angie. Stop it. Find a cocktail dress. So… were they just supporting their friends and colleagues? Or was this rare red carpet appearance something else?

To my eyes, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are doing the full court press to combat Ian Halperin’s sketchy book. Although we now have doubts that Angelina gave a new interview to OK! Magazine yesterday, we do know that both Brad and Angelina have been very public this week, going out to dinner with George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis, holding hands and smiling for the cameras, all the while the tabloids are going after blood. I’m not sure if putting Maddox in the line of fire, while clad in a sketchy muu-muu is the answer, but whatever.

These are new pictures, but you would barely know it because Angelina is wearing all-black. AGAIN. Angelina needs to upgrade this all-black boho-goth wardrobe of hers, it’s kind of insane. I mean, I get it. She wears black. Lots of black. She’s dark and mysterious. She’s still got the soul of the misunderstood goth-punk kid. We get it, Angie. Paint It Black. “I see a red door and I want it painted black/ No colors anymore I want them to turn black/ I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes/ I have to turn my head until my darkness goes/Hmm, hmm, hmm/ I wanna see it painted, painted black/Black as night, black as coal…” That being said, I would love to see her in a pair of jeans and a red t-shirt. Or even a nice little patterned sundress. Sigh.

Anyway, Angelina Jolie took her oldest kid Maddox out to a supermarket in Brignoles, France today. Maddox seems to be getting quite a bit of one-on-one time with his parents lately – just last week, Madd was the only Jolie-Pitt kid to accompany Brad to New York, where they chilled out at Dave & Buster’s. Mommy’s no fun, though. She just takes her boy grocery shopping. Except that mommy’s secretly cool because she buys toy guns!

Yes, I would have missed it too, except some eagle-eyed OK! Magazine editor noticed it - Angelina is carrying a small toy gun, still in it’s packaging. We already know Maddox shares his mom’s affinity for knives and weaponry – even Brad mentioned in his Rolling Stone interview last year that he helps Maddox look for new weapons. So why are toy guns surprising or even scandalous? They’re not really. I’m just surprised that toy guns are sold in grocery stores in France. I learned something new.

After spending Thursday at the Clinton Global Initiative panel discussion on environmentalism and architecture, Brad Pitt spent Friday with Maddox in New York. The two went to the Dave and Buster’s in Times Square, where they played games and probably ate a ton of junk food. For those of you unfamiliar with Dave and Buster’s, it’s an American chain restaurant/fun-house popular with teenagers and people who want to feel like kids. It’s got tons of games, like a really family-friendly version of Las Vegas, without the high financial stakes. Lots of bright lights, lots of noise. Just thinking about it gives me a headache. Anyway, Brad and Maddox spent several hours there, and then went to JFK where they caught a flight back to France.

Brad Pitt and his 8-year-old son Maddox were spotted making their way to Dave & Busters in Times Square on Friday evening (September 25). Maddox held a box of take-out food as his proud papa led him toward the restaurant for an evening of fun and games. A couple of hours later, the father-son duo were seen departing NYC from the JFK airport.

The 45-year-old hunky actor was in the Big Apple to attend the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting, where he was presented with an award recognizing the green credentials of his housing project in New Orleans. Pitt’s Make It Right organization built 13 homes in an area of New Orleans destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

I’m sure somebody’s got something to say about the “Miami retirement community” outfit Brad has on. I have no explanation for it. It’s like he should have looked in the mirror before he left the hotel and taken off two articles of clothing. It’s beige overkill with the vest (or cardigan, whatever), pants, jacket and beige trim on his hat. Without the hat and the vest/cardigan, it could have been fine. Meanwhile, Maddox is wearing an expression in most of these pictures like “I can’t wait to get back to mom, where everything’s all black”.

Yesterday we reported on Angelina Jolie’s trip to the largest refugee camp in the world, on the Kenyan border with Somalia. Angelina made the trip in her capacity as the goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commission on Refugees, and her official comments (as noted by UN press releases) were about the underfunded camp and the truly horrific sanitation, water and disease issues. What I didn’t realize at the time was that Angelina had made this trip as she and her family were vacationing in Kenya. I thought they were still in France (with the gerbils), but according to People, the Jolie-Pitts are on holiday in Kenya.

When Angelina returned to wherever her family is staying (probably a beach resort), she didn’t even have time to unpack. She grabbed her two oldest girls (Shiloh and Zahara) and took them on a special girls’ trip to Ethiopia, Zahara’s birthplace. This is apparently Zahara’s first trip back to her birthplace since Angelina adopted her in 2005. The trip, according to a source, was about keeping Zahara’s cultural heritage alive, and to scout locations for a tuberculosis and AIDS clinic in Ethiopia. This clinic project was announced last year, and I hope they’re doing more than just scouting locations on this trip.

It turns out that Angelina Jolie’s recent goodwill mission in Kenya was also a homecoming for one member of the Jolie-Pitt family.

While Jolie, 34, and Brad Pitt, 45, were “on a trip to Kenya with their children, Angelina stopped in Dabaab Refugee Camp, and also flew to Ethiopia with Zahara and Shiloh for two days,” a close family friend tells PEOPLE.

The girls’ trip was “the first time Zahara had been back home since her adoption,” according to the friend. Zahara, 4, was adopted from Ethiopia in 2005. “The trip was about keeping up that culture for her.”

One priority for them on the trip was looking for a place to build a TB and AIDS clinic in Zahara’s name, which would be similar to the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Project in Cambodia, an organization that helps impoverished and ill children.

While the girls were away, Pitt and the rest of the family – Madddox, 8, Pax, 5, and 1-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – stayed behind in Kenya. “The family has been having a wonderful time,” on this trip,” says a pal. “The children are having so much fun.”

Earlier in the trip, Jolie visited Dabaab Refugee Camp, home to nearly 300,000 Somali refugees, with nearly 7,000 more arriving every month due to the food crisis in Somalia where nearly 3.6 million people are starving.

In sub-Saharan Africa, there are hundreds of thousands of people infected with both HIV and TB. I believe the dual diagnosis is so common, it’s become known as “the terrible two” or “the terrible twins”. Generally, TB rates are drastically increasing amongst HIV positive groups/communities. It’s smart for Angelina to focus on these “terrible twins” in the form of a clinic, named after Zahara.

I’m sure there will be some general criticisms of Angelina, and some more specific criticisms of the weird timing on this – after all, this clinic was a project they announced last year, and they’re just now getting started on scouting locations? But here’s the thing – once it gets going, I imagine the Zahara Jolie-Pitt Project will be a lot like her brother Maddox’s project in Cambodia. The Maddox Jolie-Project formed over years, starting from a simple wildlife conservation and de-mining initiative, then adding on the Maddox Chivan Children’s Center for TB and AIDS in 2006. After that, the MJPP became part of Asia’s first Millenium Village, an economic-development program overseen by Dr. Jeffrey Sachs. MJPP hired 70 people to “work with Sachs’s group on activities – including rice planting, distribution of bed nets to fight malaria, school meal programs and providing medicines for clinics.” I would imagine that once Zahara’s project gets off the ground, it will grow over the years as well.
