Time for another “In The Opposite of Shocking” news dump… Us Weekly is confirming that Rihanna and Matt Kemp are over, a split that has long been rumored. Well, rumored for the past few months, since Kemp and Rihanna have barely been seen together in a while. Bossip had video one month ago in which Matt Kemp seemed to be creeping out on Rihanna with some randoms at a club, and it was widely reported weeks ago on several urban gossip sites that RiRi and Kemp had split quietly. Now, it’s official.

Time for Rihanna to pen a new break-up ballad: After almost a year together, she and Matt Kemp have called it quits, an insider close to the singer tells UsMagazine.com.

“It happened over the last few weeks,” explains the source. “She basically was just over it.”

A rep for Rihanna (she’s currently vacationing with family in her native Barbados) could not be reached for comment.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kemp, 26, helped Rihanna, 22, move on from Chris Brown, who infamously assaulted her in February 2009. The duo were first spotted frolicking together in Cabo San Lucas last January, and slowly opened up about their romance in the spring.

But the “Only Girl” singer has been “so busy,” the insider says. “He just can’t keep up with her crazy travel schedule.”

“Matt’s sick of always following after her like a puppy dog all over the world. He wants something more normal,” the source adds.

Plus, the insider says, “It was never as serious as it looked. It was always just [about] having fun.”

Stilll, back in May, Kemp gushed about his love: “She’s just a fun person. I love to be around her.”

In June, Rihanna similarly said of Kemp: “I’m so happy. I feel really comfortable and it’s so easy. [The relationship] is just my peace. It keeps me sane.”

Yeah, I don’t really think Rihanna or Matt are really mourning this relationship too much. They were a cute couple, they had some fun together, and now it’s done. So… is she already riding Drake or what? That’s the rumor. Allegedly, she and Drizzy already had a fling BEFORE Matt Kemp, so maybe Drake is just her go-to rebound fling. We’ll see.

Last week, I made this Bossip story the lead link for the day – Bossip had video of Matt Kemp maybe/probably creeping out on Rihanna with some skeezy club girl. To be fair to Matt, he was with a group of friend-types, and the girl could have just been a friend. To be fair to Bossip, the girl looked like she was trying to pass her phone number, and Matt was all “Not in front of the paparazzi, slut.” Anyway, Matt Kemp’s fidelity is in question. And now Hello Beautiful and Terez Owens (amongst other urban sites) are reporting the rumor that Rihanna dumped him:

Matt Kemp and Rihanna have been dating for quite a while..Throughout their relationship, rumors of cheating on both sides surfaced daily.. Now the baseball star and his pop star girlfriend have called it quits.With Kemp smack dab in the middle of his off-season, and Rihanna traveling the globe promoting her music, the two slowly drifted apart..Kemp’s penchant for clubbing was also partly to blame for the demise of their relationship..

My sources tell me Kemp left a Hollywood club last week with two girls in tow and brought them home..My eyewitness who was there, tells me the two girls both crashed in Matt’s room the entire night..I doubt he was reading them bedtime stories..

Rihanna was ready to move on as well..Her reported romance with Drake was semi responsible for the fights that eventually lead to the split..I wouldn’t be surprised if they rekindled a few times..but my source tells me it’s officially over. -TO

Rihanna and Drake? That’s interesting. I could see that, I really could. As for Matt Kemp – oh, well. Maybe a Kardashian is available? It wouldn’t surprise me if he was cheating, but it also wouldn’t surprise me if he was just with other women while he and RiRi were on a “break” too, you know? We’ll see.

I get it, I really do. She’s Rihanna. Much like Gaga, Rihanna has added to her fame, appeal and press by wearing strange and hideous things. Maybe it’s a message about finding beauty everywhere, in anything. Or maybe Rihanna shouldn’t try so hard. Because this dress could have been adorable paired with a pair of simple heels and an elegant bun. It’s not even that Rihanna’s hair or jewelry offends me. The jewelry looks like a 4-year-old picked it out, of course, and the hair is ridiculous, but all of that is fine. It’s the socks and heels that really, really bother me:

Ugh. Little old lady.

But anyway, these photos are of Rihanna and her boyfriend Matt Kemp attending the Miu Miu show in Paris yesterday. This is one of the first times, in my memory, that RiRi and Matt have gotten all dressed up and gone to a public function together. Can I say something? Matt Kemp is cute as hell. He really is adorable, with a great smile. I like the way he’s looking at Rihanna too – like he “gets” her. It’s very sweet. So I’ll overlook the socks. Matt Kemp for HGF!
