Kate Hudson in a white Jenny Packham sweater dress: stunning or vanilla?

These are photos of Kate Hudson with her fiance, Matt Bellamy, and with her co-star, Riz Ahmed, at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of The Reluctant Fundamentalist. The film also features Kiefer Sutherland and Liev Schreiber. It’s about a Pakistani guy (Ahmed) who becomes a high-powered broker on Wall Street and goes through an identity crisis in the wake of 9-11. Hudson stars as his American girlfriend. I would say that the timing of this movie’s release is unfortunate, like the way that Gone Baby Gone suffered from the Madeleine McCann tragedy or how that Halle Berry movie, Things We Lost in the Fire, tanked due to the 2007 California wildfires. It’s hard to tell how this will do at the box office, and it’s only out in limited release starting this week. The trailer makes it look interesting and smart, and some aspects of the story remind me of “Homeland.” (I love that show!) Still, it’s hard to think about terrorism right now, it’s just way too raw for a lot of people.

Let’s focus on the fun superficial aspects of entertainment, like Kate Hudson’s gorgeous hair and white and silver sweater dress. She’s in Jenny Packham, one of Duchess Kate’s preferred designers. I’m personally not fond of straight up-and-down dresses, I know better than to try them on as they never flatter me, but in no way do I have a figure like Kate. (Either one of them.) So Kate H kind of works this dress, but it’s still not a standout. It’s kind of a snooze apart from the silver detailing. I love her hair! Does she have extensions, do you think? I think so, but I would bet they’re just subtle enough to make us question whether she has them.

Kate gave great bitchface last night. There are photos of her looking pissed off and giving the sideeye followed by photos of her flashing a sunny smile. I think her mom is just like that too – Goldie knows how to switch on the charm and Kate learned it from her. No judgment, I love Goldie!

Kiefer looking red. I wish Liev was there. I would take him with or without Naomi.

Oh and after I wrote this story it occurred to me to google Kate H to see if she’s said anything notable recently. She did! She told Extra! that she’ll get married to her fiance, Matthew Bellamy, eventually (I think she doesn’t care, which is the right attitude to have) and that her 21 month-old son is doing great and is adorable basically:

“I look forward to it,” the Reluctant Fundamentalist actress tells Extra of tying the knot. “We’ll both figure it out. We’ve been both very busy, but it will happen.”

Hudson… says she’s been too busy taking care of sons Ryder and Bingham to plan a ceremony. “He is a gem. He is talking up a storm,” the actress, 34, says of Bingham, 21 months. “I’ll ask, ‘What do you want for breakfast, honey?’ He says, ‘Bolognese.’”

At the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Ball in New York City Apr. 18, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell’s actress daughter told Us Weekly her youngest son is taking after his musician father, 34. “Bing right now is just completely obsessed with drumming. He’s just a drummer,” Hudson shared. “It’s pretty wild to watch. It’s all he wants to do.”

[From US Weekly]

That’s cute! Kate’s been married already and that didn’t really work out for her. She’s been engaged for two years, so I bet she doesn’t plan on getting married anytime soon. If she did, she would have at least made plans by now. I think she should take a lesson from her Mom and Kurt Russell and just keep things as they are. There’s no reason to make it official – unless Matt needs a green card or something.

Kate Hudson shows off her 14-month-old baby Bingham in Toronto: adorable?

Here are some new photos of Kate Hudson and her youngest son Bingham leaving Toronto yesterday. Kate made yet another wonderful (in a fashion sense) appearance at TIFF following her gorgeous outing in Venice last week, both appearances on behalf of Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist. But let’s talk about the baby, okay? Bingham Hawn Bellamy is now 14 months old – it’s been a while since we’ve had any photos of him, I think. I’m not going to go through our archives to exhaustively check – my memory is that Kate hasn’t shown off Bingham all that much. Isn’t he adorable? He’s so blonde! He looks more like his mom than his dad, I think. He also seems exceptionally well-behaved considering he’s in a crowded airport and paparazzi are probably shouting at his mom. Very cute.

When I saw these photos, I googled Kate to see if she has any interesting new interviews. There were some new pieces, but nothing really stood out. So instead of trying to pull a story out of nowhere, you really need to read this hilarious interview with Kate’s baby-daddy, Matt Bellamy. Apparently, nobody told him how “horrible” it is to watch your lady give birth. Matt was pretty grossed out. Matt is a man after my own heart.

Matt Bellamy wishes someone had warned him how “horrible” births are. The Muse frontman was present when his fiancee Kate Hudson delivered their son Bingham in July but he wasn’t prepared for just how gory it would be.

He said: “I don’t understand why no one had warned me about how horrible it would be. The baby’s head was weirdly elongated when it came out. That freaked me out a bit.”

When he and Kate first took Bingham home, the rocker admits he was “petrified” about his new fatherly responsibilities but he quickly bonded with his baby and learnt what to do.

In an interview with German magazine Gala, he said: “I had to learn how to change nappies. It took a while before I got used to it. First I was petrified – I couldn’t believe what was happening. You’re in this kind of bubble where everything feels really far away. Then you just concentrate on the easy stuff – which I’m not very good at to be honest. But somehow nature makes sure you grow into your role as a father.”

Matt, 34, admits nothing has given him as much satisfaction in his life than fatherhood and the love he has for Bingham is limitless.

He said: “I met Kate and fell in love with her. But the best thing that has happened to me since was becoming a father. Being a father changes so much: the way you look at the world and yourself. There’s nothing that’s as much fun as a baby – it’s endless joy. I’m really happy with everything.”

[From TVNZ]

Don’t yell at him too much – he’s English! You have to take that into consideration when judging the language he used. Or maybe he really just think childbirth is “horrible”. He’s not alone, people. I think that too. But perhaps the buried lead is that Kate gave birth vaginally? That’s what he’s saying, correct? The baby’s head was elongated because of the narrow birth canal (typing that made me want to throw up)…? Whatever. I’ve never read the Biscuit Manual. No disrespect to those of you who have the manual memorized!

Did Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy get secretly married or what?

I think I’m the only one around here that actually likes Kate Hudson at this point. I don’t think she’s a brilliant actress or anything, but she’s cute and she’s bubbly and I like that she doesn’t whine and she never pulls the “Woe Is Me” card. She’s the product of Hollywood nepotism, but she’s been helped along the way by her positive attitude too. Basically, I’m a Kate Hudson apologist. One of the few. It’s actually funny at this point – I used to not care much about Kate or Drew Barrymore, both of them hippie-dippy flower-girl types, but over the past couple of years, both Drew and Kate have done a lot of “growing up” – outside of the spotlight. And now people don’t care about them as much. Have you noticed that?

Anyway, that was all my “I bet you don’t care about this, but I do” prologue. Several days ago, a new Goldie Hawn interview came out, and Goldie seemed to be saying that Kate Hudson and her current boyfriend/fiancé/baby-daddy Matt Bellamy had gotten married. Goldie said, “My kids are fantastic with their children, they have an amazing parental ethic and I’m very proud of them for that… When my daughter Kate married an English rock star [Matt Bellamy] it didn’t worry me; all that matters is that the relationship is a good one.” Now, Bellamy totally proposed to Kate when she was knocked up with little Bungham Hawn Bellamy, but since then, we’ve heard nothing about any wedding plans. So did Goldie let the cat out of the bag? Or was Goldie just drunk/confused?

Did Matt Bellamy finally — and secretly — make an honest woman out of Kate Hudson? Some wondered whether the actress and Muse rocker, 33, had an on-the-downlow wedding after Hudson’s famous mom Goldie Hawn gave a confusing interview to British paper Evening Standard.

“When my daughter Kate married an English rock star it didn’t worry me,” the bubbly actress, 66, says. “All that matters is that the relationship is a good one.”

But a source close to Something Borrowed star Hudson tells Us Weekly it’s “not true” that Hudson and Bellamy, parents to 8-month-old son Bing, tied the knot in secret. The insider notes that Hawn herself never wed longtime beau Kurt Russell, but frequently refers to him as her “husband” — and seems to have the done the same for her daughter.

Hudson and Bellamy were spotted in Riviera Maya, Mexico over the weekend. Following Hudson’s split from Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez, the couple debuted their romance in late spring 2010; they met years ago in Australia.

[From Us Weekly]

Yeah, I actually buy that argument. Matt is pretty much Kate’s husband already, in everything but paperwork. And that is how Goldie thinks, after all. Here’s a question, though: who do you think is more ambivalent about making their union official? Do you think Matt is all, “Eh, we don’t need a piece of paper, baby”? Or do you think Kate is all, “You already feel like my husband, I don’t want to plan some dumb wedding. Arsehole”? I’m thinking Kate is the one who is gun-shy.

Goldie Hawn gets her drink on with Kate Hudson to launch The Hawn Foundation

These are photos of Goldie Hawn, her daughter Kate Hudson, and Kate’s boyfriend Matt Bellamy after an event in London last night. They were leaving the launch party for the Hawn Foundation in the UK. Lainey has the detail that it was after 4am when Goldie left the party! Now I’ve never heard of the Hawn Foundation, but from what I gather from their website it’s a non-profit founded by Goldie for teachers and parents aimed at helping children achieve. It sounds awesome and like a good cause. Goldie even has a book coming out this month about how to be a more mindful parent and caregiver to children. It’s called 10 Mindful Minutes: Giving Our Children–and Ourselves–the Social and Emotional Skills to Reduce Stress and Anxiety for Healthier, Happy Lives. This news is of course being overshadowed by Goldie’s kind of messy appearance outside the event. She was so toasted she got into her car butt-first and fell over inside. You know she’ll get some tabloid coverage for this, but at least it’s also bringing awareness to her organization, which is news to me. So Goldie gets her drink on, and she gets publicity for her cause. Here’s more:

We love Goldie Hawn. She’s always giggling, smiling and having a lovely time. Yesterday was no different. She looked like a twenty-year-old whippersnapper at the party for her charity, The Hawn Foundation, at Annabel’s members’ club in Mayfair. (She’s actually a 66-year-old grandmother).

(We could make a bad joke about going Overboard with the booze, but we’ll restrain ourselves…Okay, we can’t – she blatantly went a bit Overboard with the booze!)

She shuffled to her car waiting outside and then got in backwards. Amazing. We love this woman. “Why can I see the trunk of this car?” she was probably thinking as her bum slid down the back of the front seat.

Earlier in the day she’d been at a signing for her new book on meditation ’10 Mindful Minutes’. It’s a self-help book said to offer “the social and emotional skills to reduce stress and anxiety for healthier, happy lives.”

Her daughter, Kate Hudson, and Kate’s fiance, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, came along to the evening do looking very glam. Goldie’s manager Alan Nevins tweeted, “So proud of @goldiehawn for her work with children. And Kate so generous in coming to london to support the Foundation and her mom! Luv U!”

[From Mirror.co.uk]

Kurt Russell wasn’t there, so it was nice that Kate and Matt came out to help support Goldie. Goldie sure knows how to let her hair down. It looks like Kate had a few too, but she was maintainin’, as Kaiser says. Check out Kate’s “I’m not that drunk” face. I do that too! Look at that gorgeous coat. You can see Kate and Goldie inside the party in photos on The Mirror’s site.

And here’s Goldie earlier in the day signing copies of her book:

Matt Bellamy twit-pics first photo of Kate Hudson & baby Bingham Hawn

kate12

Matt Bellamy twit-pic’d the above photo yesterday – it’s the first public photo of baby Bing Bellamy! Huzzah! I really love this photo of Bing and mom Kate Hudson. So pretty, and it doesn’t look posed and everything. Matt tweeted it with the comment “Family life” but then he went off on the paparazzi trying to get photos of the baby, writing, “Wow, these paps are annoying. Thought we’d tweet pic in hope of paps backing off, didn’t work! There should be laws protecting minors… Daily mail – expect to hear from lawyers soon ;) ”. So I guess Matt and Kate decided to release the first photo, Beckham-style, on their Twitter account in the hopes that the paparazzi would just settle down and stop trying to get the first photo of baby Bing.

In case you still have questions about why Kate and Matt named their kid Bing – Matt explained that Bingham is his mother’s maiden name, and Kurt Russell’s father’s name was Bing. The kid’s full name is Bingham Hawn Bellamy, which I still find absolutely adorable.

Kate Hudson doesn’t care that people are seeing her post-birth

fp_7617996_hudson_kate_fp6_00_63

These are some new photos of Kate Hudson, Matt Bellamy and Kate’s son Ryder in Malibu yesterday. Kate just gave birth to her son Bing Bellamy ten days ago, and we’re not used to seeing new celebrity moms out and about so quickly. Kate’s stomach hasn’t even gone down – but she still looks really great. This pregnancy was so different than Kate’s first. When she was pregnant with Ryder, she put on so much weight, and it went to her face. As you can see here, her face still looks thin, and she carried most of her weight in her mid-section. This is also, like, the fifth photo set of Kate and Matt post-birth. Kate really is a hippie mom, and she’s not vain about people seeing her just after she’s given birth.

What consistently surprises me about Matt Bellamy is how he seems so “into” Kate and her world. Kate goes from casual to super-serious in relationships in the blink of an eye, and most men run away screaming. Not Matt, though. He seems committed to her and committed to being part of her life, and being a great step-dad to Ryder. This Malibu outing was just Kate, Matt and Ryder building sandcastles, and Matt looks really into it. I’ll just say it: Bless skinny, pale British boys. I love them. They’re overwhelmingly sweet, aren’t they?

By the way, I can’t wait to see photos of little Bing Hawn Bellamy! I wonder if Kate is going to sell photos of the kid to one of the magazines? As far as explaining the name “Bing”, Bellamy wrote on Twitter, “For those wondering, Bingham is my mum’s maiden name and Bing Russell was Kurt’s dad. Family connections all round!” I still think it’s a super-cute, old-school name.

Kate Hudson & Matt Bellamy name their son Bingham “Bing” Hawn Bellamy

wenn3191690

I know there is going to be a lot of fighting over this one, but I just want to say at the beginning that I don’t hate it. Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy have released the name of their newborn son, who Kate gave birth to on Saturday. The name? Bingham Hawn Bellamy. “Hawn” for Kate’s mom, Goldie Hawn, I’m just taking a wild guess. Kate did that with Ryder too – Ryder’s middle name is Russell, after Kurt Russell, Kate’s stepfather and the man who raised her since she was very, very young. Screw you guys, I think “Bingham Hawn” is SO CUTE.

bellamy1

[From Matt’s Twitter]

Matt wrote “Bing” on his Twitter, like it was already the kid’s official nickname, like they’re just going to be calling him Bing Bellamy. See? How does that not make you laugh… in delight? It’s adorable! Bing Bellamy is the sidekick in a hilarious slapstick romantic comedy in 1948. Bing Bellamy is a song and a dance man. Bing Bellamy can do the Jitterbug. Bing Bellamy went to dinner with Sinatra in Palm Springs, and Bing Bellamy played craps with Dean Martin. BING BELLAMY RULES!

PS… Please don’t make a million “Chandler Bing” references. Please DO make a million Bing Crosby references.

Kate Hudson gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Saturday

wenn3324237

Oh noes! Kate Hudson wanted a girl so badly!! Kate’s rep is confirming that Kate Hudson gave birth to a healthy baby boy last night, in LA. Is anyone else surprised that she was due so soon? I thought she had another couple of months left. I’m also surprised that she didn’t gain more weight – when she was pregnant with Ryder, I remember how she got very heavy (and cute, I liked seeing her like that). Anyway, she and Matt Bellamy haven’t released the name yet.

Kate Hudson and fiance Matt Bellamy have a brand-new muse: Their first baby together! The Oscar-nominated actress, 32, gave birth to a “healthy baby boy” in Los Angeles on Saturday night, her rep confirms to Us Weekly.

The little guy joins big brother Ryder, Hudson’s 7-year-old son with ex-husband Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes. Us Weekly was first to break news of Hudson’s second pregnancy in January 2011. She and the Muse frontman Bellamy, 33, debuted their romance in late spring 2010; they reportedly met years ago in Australia.

“He’s lovely,” Hudson (whose mom is actress Goldie Hawn) told Elle UK back in September. After confirming her pregnancy in late January, she admitted that life was a little more chaotic with another baby on board. “I babble a lot. I forget words. And how to put sentences together,” Hudson laughs. “I just give up.”

“This is a totally different pregnancy, completely,” Hudson said in April. “It couldn’t be more opposite…With Ryder, I didn’t even have a nursery. I didn’t really have a house until I was seven months pregnant.”

Nabbing a Grammy in L.A. in February, British rocker Bellamy couldn’t help but give his love a shout-out, thanking his “beautiful pregnant girlfriend,” who watched proudly in the audience. Hudson initially poo-pood talk of getting married again. “I don’t feel it necessary to get married,” she said on British chat show The Graham Norton Show. “I already have one child, and have had one divorce, so it is not necessarily the golden ticket. I just want to be happy.”

She clearly changed her mind — debuting a huge engagement ring (worth an estimated $200,000) and announcing her engagement to millions of viewers on The Today Show April 27. “I haven’t really announced it, I was waiting for someone to notice,” the Something Borrowed actress told Matt Lauer.

Famous pals like Courteney Cox, Nicole Richie and Rachel Zoe feted the mom-to-be at a casual, family-friendly baby shower held June 5 at a private home in Malibu.

Time will tell if Hudson and Bellamy will add another to their brood — but Hudson is ready to sign up! “I love being pregnant,” she told Marie Claire last month. “Gosh, I could be pregnant all the time.”

For now, Hudson, Bellamy and the baby are expected to spend time together at Bellamy’s home in London while he records a new album, according to one source. “She’s crazy about him…Kate and Matt are so adorable together.” Adds another insider, “she’s a great mom.”

[From Us Weekly]

Congratulations to Kate and Matt! Do you think they’ll end getting married, or will they just be “engaged” until one day they’re over? It’s hard to tell… Kate doesn’t seem to care either way, but Matt has surprised me with how thrilled he is to be with Kate, so maybe he’ll be the one to force the marriage issue. In any case, I’m happy for them and I’m glad mother and child are healthy and happy.

Kate Hudson & Matt Bellamy are fighting over money, pre-nups & weight gain

fp_7408879_hudsonpark_robinson_fp3_15_27

These are some new photos of Kate Hudson and her fiancé and baby-daddy Matthew Bellamy out and about in LA yesterday. They were actually at a baseball field, watching Ryder play with his team. Lots of people have been noting that Bellamy seems to have put on some “sympathy weight” during Kate’s pregnancy. I kind of love when that happens – I think it’s shows that the soon-to-be mom and dad are totally bonded. Probably because I associate food with love? Yeah. Anyway, you can kind of see that Bellamy is working a gut here. And Kate is pretty big too – doesn’t it seem like she got really pregnant really fast? But she’s carrying much differently now than she did with Ryder. Do you remember what she looked like during her first pregnancy? It all went to her face, I swear. It was awesome.

In other Kate-and-Matt news, Star Magazine has a story that I don’t think much of. They’re claiming that Matt and Kate are in the midst of a huge battle over money. More specifically, over the pre-nup that Kate’s demanding. The source says:

“Kate and Matt are clashing over money issues… and it may destroy any chance they have of getting married. Their relationship was in a much healthier place before her put a ring on her finger.”

Kate is insisting on a pre-nup because she has more money than Matthew, and the proposed agreement is tougher on him than her.

“He would be on a payment plan of sorts, where he is allotted a certain amount of money annually… and if he cheats, he will lose everything, but if she cheats, no harm, no foul. The fighting over the pre-nup has soured the experience… they may not get married at all. They may just stay engaged, or even split up.”

[From Star Magazine, print edition]

I don’t believe this because I don’t really think Kate gives a crap about money in general. I mean, she cares about buying things and working and stuff, but she’s not one of those people who prioritize the big paychecks. Now, is it possible that they’re fighting? Sure. Is it possible that Kate thinks it would be no big deal if she cheated on Matt? Sure. But it’s just as likely, in my mind, that they are totally loved up and blissed out right now.

Kurt Russell loved all of Kate Hudson’s lovers (and it’s a long list)

kurtrussell
eTalk, the Canadian entertainment show for which Lainey is a correspondent, scored an interview with Kurt Russell when he was in Toronto for a celebrity baseball tournament to raise money for Mt. Sinai hospital’s cancer center. (You can see their interview with Kurt at about 7:00 into this video.

You can’t tell in the video what the interviewer asked Kurt, as we only hear his responses. At one point he goes on at length about Kate Hudson’s exes, name dropping her ex husband and her son’s dad, Chris Robinson, and also saying he had “a lot of fun” with Alex Rodriguez. Kate and Kurt were spotted several times in the stands at Alex’s baseball games. Kurt never mentions Lance Armstrong, but Kate didn’t date him for long anyway.

Kate Hudson might be pregnant and engaged to Matthew Bellamy, but that doesn’t mean Kurt Russell doesn’t love all of his daughter’s ex-beaus. (Kate’s biological father is actor Bill Hudson, but the actress considers Russell her dad.)

“I gotta say, I love Chris Robinson, loved him, still do,” Russell, 60, told Canadian entertainment show etalk. Hudson, 32, and Robinson, 44, were married from 2000 to 2006 and have one son together: Ryder, 7.

“I loved Alex [Rodriguez]. We had a tremendous time together,” Russell added. Hudson dated the New York Yankees star, 35, in 2009.

Russell added: “I think Kate has been fortunate with all the men she’s gotten close to, we’ve all had a close relationship to, and Matthew is a wonderful guy. I’m loving the process of getting to know Matt more and more.”

Hudson and Bellamy, 32, are expecting their first child together this July. So how does Russell think the two will do co-parenting? “She’s a real good mom and I think Matt will be a real good dad.”

[From US Weekly]

Kurt said a little bit more about how Kate was due in July and how he and Goldie were excited about it. He said it would be their fourth grandchild and that they were “getting pretty used to it.” As for how they feel about Matt, he added “I’m just happy she has someone, once again, the whole family can feel confident in and close to.” For all you can say about Kate’s lovelife, she’s close to her family and she expects her boyfriends to be too. Maybe she should wait a little longer before she introduces them, but she plays for keeps.

Our last story on Kate Hudson was about Matt Bellamy allegedly getting a groupie pregnant right before he met Kate and impregnated her. We had five comments on that post from the same person posing as different commenters defending the groupie and trying to give her side of the story. She is some kind of “model” and has bikini photos up comparing herself to Kate Hudson. That whole story is probably fan fiction.

Kate, Kurt and Goldie are shown out on 1/28/11. Credit: WENN.com. They’re also shown out biking with Matt Bellamy on 9/18/10. Credit: Fame
