Michelle Rodriguez talks about her sexuality

It appears Michelle Rodriguez isn’t backing off from her angry girl image. She seems to think the rest of the world is pretty disgusting – and perverse. In fact it seems like any talk or thought of sex seems perverse and invasive to her. Michelle gave an interview to Latina magazine, in which she talks about her sexuality. The magazine notes that people have always wondered if she’s gay or straight – a question she doesn’t answer. But she sure gives some interesting thoughts on sex – and why people are so obsessed with wanting to know her orientation.

“What the majority of [people] want to know is what I’m doing with my vagina, and I think that that’s sick,” she says over the phone from New Zealand, where she’s shooting the new James Cameron film Avatar. “What do you care who I’m dating? I can tell when somebody just wants to know about sex. And it makes me sick.”

… “Every time you see a woman who walks down the street, you think, ‘is she f*ckable?’” she says, when we ask why she thinks there is enduring interest in her love life, “Any woman who is in some way f*ckable, you know, if she’s beautiful, or if she has a nice body, you wonder what kind of things that person does with their private area.” She goes on to say, “It’s a very perverse way of thinking, but it’s the way that the majority of adults in the United States and around the world think. Or the porn industry wouldn’t be the highest grossing industry in the world.”

[From Latina]

Michelle notes that she’s a tomboy and doesn’t care how she looks or what people think of her – and that makes her intriguing. It’s a pretty rare attitude for a woman in Hollywood, and makes you wonder why she ever wanted to be a part of that industry. She also gives a pretty vivid image of exactly what she thinks of journalists and bloggers who want to know if she’s a lesbian.

“I picture them turning into pigs, slime coming out the side of their mouth, and I picture them jerking off,” she says of the journalists and bloggers who she believes are constantly trying to ‘out’ her: “I don’t answer those questions. I just keep it to myself and it’s nobody’s business. If I wanna f*ck a girl, a boy, a dog—that’s my business. That’s why there’s bathroom doors.”

[From Latina]

Um…. Wow. I actually don’t have a comeback for that. Michelle’s orientation is definitely her business, that’s true. I’m so stuck on trying not to imagine the slime vomit pigs that I’m having a hard time figuring out what else to say. I think another part of the reason people often want to know is because she’s such a “I’m gonna tell you what I think” type who never bites her tongue. She appears confident and tough. So I guess it just seems like she’d be someone who would say, “Yeah, I am, so what?” but with a lot more swear words.

Here’s Michelle a friend out and about in Beverly Hills doing some shopping at Maxfield on April 3rd. Images thanks to Splash.

Michelle Rodriguez out of jail after 18 days

dgg-005084.jpg

Michelle Rodriguez has got to be the luckiest jailbird ever. The repeat drunk driving with a side of anger actress has managed to get let out of jail AGAIN after serving a mere ten percent of her sentence. Michelle was doing time at Lynwood women’s jail, where she’d been sentenced to 180 for violating her probation. Lynwood is notoriously crowded, and although the judge made it absolutely clear that he was requiring Rodriguez to serve each and every day, the sheriff still let her out early. Rodriguez had violated her probation by drinking three times and failing to complete her community service, then forging documents to make it look like she had.

Michelle Rodriguez has been released from jail early after just 17 days, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Web site. The actress, best known for her role on Lost, was sentenced to 180 days for violating probation stemming from her DUI arrest. She checked into the Lynwood, California, jail days before Christmas, on Dec. 23.

Rodriguez, 29, admitted to violating her probation by failing to provide proof of completion of community service and for drinking three times while wearing an alcohol-monitoring anklet.

“She’s nice, personable, down to earth … nothing like Paris Hilton!” a correctional officer told Us a few days into her stint. “She asked to work,” the source said of the star who helped in the kitchen. “She said she wanted a job and didn’t want to be isolated like other celebs.”

[From US Weekly]

That’s the first positive thing I’ve heard about Michelle Rodriguez in a long, long time. Though to be fair, comparing anyone to Paris Hilton will generally make the other person look good. You know how they say you should always keep an ugly friend around you, so that you look better by comparison? Same thing with Paris Hilton. You should always keep her around you, so that you look like less of a douche bag. Although with that weird eye and slight Picasso quality, Paris could work as the ugly friend too. Not that Michelle Rodriguez is unattractive, but she might want to seriously consider keeping Paris around. Though Rodriguez continually bitched and moaned about how unfair it was that she was being punished for breaking the law, she’s still not as annoying as Paris. She knows more than seven words, so that tells you something.

I’d love to say that hopefully Michelle will stay on the straight and narrow from now on, but she’s got a pretty sour attitude, so I doubt that’ll happen. I’m sure in a few months she’ll be serving another two week vacation in jail for something or other. Maybe for clocking Paris Hilton. Though that would be an offense I would excuse.

Michelle Rodriguez is nervous about going to jail

top-prn-009005.jpg

Michelle Rodriguez is claiming that she’s nervous about going to jail. Somehow I don’t buy it. M-Rod (I’m not sure if people call her that, but I call her that) claims to be a little nervous about her upcoming six-month stay in the slammer. With all those rumors floating around, I think M-Rod will be just fine. If nothing else, it’s some good female bonding. That’s what Martha Stewart made it sound like. Remember how she talked about doing yoga on the prison lawn and getting them to install organic yogurt machines? Or something like that? If Martha’s description has any truth to it, something tells me M-Rod will have the time of her life. I almost think they shouldn’t send her to jail – clearly it’s not the punishment for her that it would be for the rest of us. I mean the woman actually chose it over community service last time around. I think whichever one you choose, the judge should sentence you to the opposite.

“Michelle Rodriguez was recently sentenced to the slammer for 180 days for probation violation from prior a hit-and-run case. So how is the former Lost star, 29, holding up?

“‘A lot of spa time, a lot of reading, a lot of hiding,’ she told usmagazine.com at the grand opening of Diablo’s Cantina at the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino in Las Vegas October 13. ‘I go out with my friends and my pals.’

“So is she nervous? ‘I’m a woman, honey!’ Still, Rodriguez admitted, ‘I take life as it comes, and that’s it.’ She must start her sentence by December 24.”

[From Us Weekly]

Was that whole, “I’m a woman, honey!” supposed to mean “Of course I’m nervous” or “It’s going to be the time of my life!” I’m going with the latter, not only because I think it’s funnier, but because I’m pretty sure it’s true. M-Rod is going to jail for lying about doing one day of community service for a DUI charge. Instead of fessing up or rescheduling, the actress forged documents claiming she was in L.A. doing the work, when in fact she was in New York. That’s so stupid it almost makes you think she’d want to go to jail. But why? Why?!?

Last time M-Rod was in jail, she claimed to have a great time:

“It was so cool. I love people, and it was a primal crew. The only thing that keeps them going is fighting for salt and making dice out of soap. It was an amazing experience. I wouldn’t take it back for anything. I have a really good belief in destiny. It’s, like, if I’m gonna be killed in there, I’m gonna be killed in there. But people were cool. I represent the people, you know what I mean? If somebody picks on me, they’ll get what’s coming. I didn’t have to handle myself is what I’m saying. I had love in there. People got where I’m coming from. And Rodriguez spent her time behind bars creatively. She adds, “Drawing pictures for everybody on their shirts. Writing poetry. And singing show tunes with the girls… I’m not surprised they kicked me out early.”

[From Yeeeah!]

Is it weird that I kind of want to go now too? Between showtunes and organic yogurt, it sounds like a decent afternoon. Or six months. Whichever.

Michelle Rodriguez sentenced to Christmas in jail & 6 months

I really have absolutely no respect for Michelle Rodriguez. It seems like she’s just an extremely self-centered individual the likes of which you don’t often see – even in Hollywood. Rodriguez has been sentenced to six months is jail for not completing her community service – and forging documents to make it look like she did. How much did she forget to do? One day. So instead of just showing up and doing something useful for someone else (not to mention paying her debt to society) Rodriguez forged the documents – and was caught. Now she’ll have a good long while to think about her selfishness – and I’m guessing eventually bitch and moan on her blog about how she didn’t deserve it and it’s all everyone else’s fault. That was her reaction after having to wear an ankle alcohol monitoring bracelet due to her DUIs. Poor dear, if only the legal system would ease up and change its strict, archaic laws and let people get hammered and swerve along winding highways. And don’t fear that Michelle will be let out after a few hours due to prison overcrowding like last time – the judge has specifically prohibited it.

“Michelle Rodriguez was sentenced Wednesday to six months in jail for violating probation in a DUI case. ‘(She) admitted violating her probation by failing to provide proof of completion of her community service and for consuming alcohol three times while wearing an alcohol-monitoring device,’ said the L.A. City Attorney’s office in a statement. The Lost star must report to a Los Angeles County jail by Dec. 24. Superior Court Judge Daviann L. Mitchell also ruled that the actress is not to be granted an early release, despite L.A.’s jail overcrowding. She was also ordered to complete 30 days of road clean-up duty.

“The City Attorney’s office had alleged that Rodriguez turned in a false document showing that she completed one day of service on Sept. 25, court filings show. The actress later stated that she was in New York on that date. Her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Last month, her previous attorney, Richard Beada, said: ‘We believe this is all due to a clerical error. My client did complete the full 30 days.’ Rodriguez, 29, had been serving an extended probation term for numerous driving infractions.

“In May 2006, she served only four hours and 20 minutes of a two-month sentence at the Lynwood, Calif., jail for violating probation, stemming from a DUI arrest in Hawaii in December 2005. She served, however, just over two days in a Honolulu jail in that case. In June 2004, Rodriguez had been placed on three years’ probation after pleading no contest to DUI and driving with a suspended license from two separate incidents in the Hollywood area in 2003.”

[From People]

Well at least she’s serving a lot of time and going to be forced to do some more community service. Normally I’d be annoyed if a person had to do was community service, but that seems to be what Michelle hates the most. I mean she actually chose jail over it one point. So I hope she’s forced to spend a lot of time helping other people – I can think of few things that would make her angrier. And we all know she has a bit of a fondness for the ladies in prison. I think it’s something about all the denim they wear.

I can’t believe she was stupid enough to drink while wearing an alcohol monitoring device. She’d claimed in several of her blogs and interviews that the thing would go off if there were any alcohol in her mouthwash or shampoo – it was that sensitive. She was probably planning on blaming her drinks on the bracelet. Or I could be full of it, I just want to believe the worst about her at this point. I hope they stick her in a daycare for community service. I can think of few things that would make her pissier than a bunch of happy toddlers. Not fair to the kids, but fun for me.

Picture note by Celebitchy: Michelle Rodriguez is shown on 9/29/07 outside of court after she was told she would have to complete just 16 hours of community service to serve her debt to society. That’s just two freaking days and she couldn’t manage it! Thanks to Splash News for these pics.

Michelle Rodriguez may end up back in women’s jail… just like she likes it

top-87887251wm.jpg

Michelle Rodriguez seems hell-bent on her whole “I’m the victim” “the system is the problem” line of thought when it comes to her DUI conviction. Michelle has a pretty involved rap sheet that began long before her most recent DUI arrest in Hawaii while she was filming “Lost.” In 2002, she was arrested for assault after getting into a physical fight with her then-roommate. The roommate refused to press charges. In 2003, she was charged with eight misdemeanors including hit and run and a DUI. She pleaded no contest to the hit and run, DUI, and driving with a suspended license. Want to know how much time she spent in jail? A grueling 48 hours. She also had to do community service in two New York City morgues, and finished a three-month alcohol program. As a result, Rodriguez was placed on probation for three years. So all she had to do at that point was just not drink and drive and run people over. Sounds fairly easy, right? Well apparently not so much.

Between August 24th and October 1st 2005, Rodriguez was pulled over three times in Hawaii for speeding, and given tickets for doing 83 mph in a 55 zone, 90 mph in a 35 zone, and 80 mph in a 50 zone. But did that hamper her style? Nope. Because she then decided to outdo herself and drive home (speeding, naturally) after drinking. She was charged with a DUI and eventually pleaded guilty. And you know what really says a lot about her character? Rodriguez chose to pay a $500 fine and go to jail for five days instead of having to do 240 hours of community service. Because isn’t jail always better than doing something good for others?

That arrest was a violation of her previous probation, so Rodriguez was back to jail for the probation violation as well. Though she was sentenced to 60 days in jail, she only spent a matter of hours in what I can only assume was the lady’s shower, before she was released due to overcrowding. Rodriguez also had to serve 30 days of community service and work with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, along with wearing an alcohol-detecting ankle monitor, which she repeatedly bitched about publicly, comparing the experience to George Orwell’s novel “1984.”

But Michelle’s hatred of helping others has hampered her again: it appears she hasn’t actually done all of her community service, and hasn’t done her required alcohol education program.

“Rodriguez went to court Friday to answer to the latest claims by the city attorney’s office, which said the former ‘Lost’ actress submitted a document stating she performed community service on Sept. 25, 2006, but later admitted she was actually in New York City that day. If she is found to have violated terms of her probation, Rodriguez could face between 477 to 537 days in county jail and a $2,000 fine. Rodriguez, 29, kept quiet in court as her attorney, Richard Beale, argued that she performed 30 days of community service and said ‘a clerical error’ caused the discrepancy in the paperwork.

“Superior Court Judge Daviann L. Mitchell granted Beale’s request to call two county sheriff’s supervisors who signed off on her community service forms to testify. A hearing was set for Oct. 12. In August, the judge found that Rodriguez had not completed a required alcohol monitoring program and ordered her to perform 30 days of road maintenance work. On Friday, the judge noted she had not completed the program or the maintenance work.

“Beale said she is making progress, but the judge admonished Rodriguez to take her probation more seriously. ‘I’m not impressed with your completion schedule,’ she said. ‘There were 55 people here in court today and all but very few have completed their responsibilities. They work on much less flexible schedules than you do.’”

[From Yahoo! News]

I hope Michelle Rodriguez goes back to jail. I bet she hopes so too. (In case you’re missing all the snide references - or just don’t follow Michelle Rodriguez with the macabre fascination that I do - she’s a sorta-closeted lesbian. Hence all the women’s prison and women’s shower jokes. Because I’m sophisticated like that). She’s talked a lot about how ridiculous and unfair the system is, and has written on her blog ad nausea about it. Honey, if you don’t like it, stop drinking. Stop hitting other cars and leaving the scene. Stop speeding when you knock too many back and decide it’s a great idea for you to drive home… really, really fast. Then you won’t feel like a victim of the system so much… and everyone else won’t feel like they’re about to be your hit and run victim. See how everyone wins!

Michelle Rodriguez working on clothing line

michellerodriguezseethroughheader.jpg
Former “Lost” star, and unapologetic drinker & driver Michelle Rodriguez is jumping on the bandwagon and starting her own clothing line. I didn’t know you could make a whole line from denim jackets, tank tops, and combat boots, but apparently I’m wrong. Rodriguez says she will travel to at least twelve countries including Brazil and China to study cultures, history, and lifestyles, and will then start her own company to make the clothes she designs.

The company that I want to start should be ethnic,’ Rodriguez said in Spanish. ‘I think there is a (growing) awareness and people are opening their eyes about the world and the environment.’

Rodriguez said she hopes her travels will also help her come to know the potential market for her clothing line, to be named Ishkadada.”

[From Newsday]

Rodriguez said she also plans to continue her acting career. She stars in the upcoming movie “Battle in Seattle” with Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, and Ray Liotta about the WTO riots in Seattle in 1999. This isn’t Michelle’s first foray into fashion design. During fashion week in New York this past year, the actress sported her customized court-imposed alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet (worn after her convicted for her second DUI). “Asserting ‘this level of control just isn’t necessary,’ Rodriguez decided to fight back—with an ironic fashion statement. ’I felt it was necessary to express my truth. Hence the Orwell 1984 reference in white out on the ‘Vigil Net Government Dog Tag.’ What show better than Marc Jacobs,’ she said.

I’d be all behind this if there’s any truth to it. If she’s actually traveling around, doing research and coming up with designs, that’d be awesome. If someone else is sitting there doing all the work and she’s just putting her name on it (as seems to be the case with most other celebrity “designers”) then I think we already have enough of those, thank you. Either way, I blame J-Lo for this trend. Actually I blame J-Lo for a lot of things, because she’s the one who really took to the notion that celebrities should do a little bit of everything. How about you all just do one thing well, instead of ten things mediocre? Be a really great actor, singer, dancer, or designer. There’s nothing admirable about doing them all poorly.

If you were wondering, here’s a listof all the celebrities that have clothing lines (some are in development).

Jessica Alba, Scartlett Johanssen, Paula Abdul, Kylie Minogue, JLo, Pamela Anderson, Queen Latifah, Elizabeth Hurley, Amanda Bynes, Damon Dash, Milla Jovovich, Nelly, Jessica Simpson, Snoop Dogg, Reba McIntyre, Christy Turlington, Elle Macpherson, Jaclyn Smith, Hilary Duff, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Kelly Osbourne, Mandy Moore, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Sarah Jessica Parker, P. Diddy, Madonna, Eminem, Kate Moss, Jay Z and Lance Armstrong, 50 Cent, Will.i.am, Justin Timberlake, Victoria Beckham, Gwen Stefani, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Boy George, Shaquille O’Neil, Lenny Kravitz, Bono, Ryan Seacrest, and Nicky Hilton. And I’m sure I missed a few. I’m embarrassed to admit that I own a J Lo satiny blazer that fits oddly. I never wear it because my sister mocked me mercilessly when I bought it. I wonder how many people actually buy much from these lines? And the question still remains over how involved celebrities are in the design process, or if they’re just a name. If nothing else, Michelle Rodriguez will be in good company.

Michelle Rodriguez gets off easy

Michelle Rodriguez was released from jail after serving a mere 4 hours of a 60 day sentence for violating parole. We initially thought she was arrogant and foolish for taking jail time instead of community service for an earlier DUI violation. She only served 65 hours of a 5 day sentence for that conviction, and praised the merits of jail, saying she sang show tunes, wrote poetry, and got along with the other inmates. The prospect of so much jail time seemed trying for the “Lost” actress, who was said to be “solemn-looking” while leaving court after sentencing. She got off with even less time served now, though, making it seem like she’s working the system:

TMZ has learned Michelle Rodriguez’s 60-day DUI jail sentence turned into four hours and 27 minutes behind bars — a byproduct of overcrowding and budget problems in LA’s jails.

The ‘Lost’ star checked herself into jail last Thursday to begin a 60-day sentence for DUI-related probation violations. At the time, the star said she would serve her time, then flee the country for France.

But a spokesman for the LA city attorney’s office said Rodriguez was released after just less than four and a half hours as part of a book and release program typical for non-violent offenders with sentences of less than 90 days. Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the LA County Sheriff’s Department, said the early release program was implemented in 2002 “as a last resort” to meet budget cuts that reached $180 million.

Surely someone pulled some strings for Rodriguez, or maybe this is standard procedure as suggested.

Last week Rodriguez told photographers that she was moving to France, because “people don’t bother you there,” but she was out in LA at the “Ultimate Fighting Championship” boxing match on Saturday, as seen in the header image, above. She seems to be enjoying herself, while her friends look like they’d rather be anywhere else.

Rodriguez still has 30 days of alcohol rehab to serve along with years of probation. Maybe that will help keep her sober since she hasn’t faced stiff consequences yet for multiple DUI violations.

Michelle Rodriguez Interview and Total Request Live Appearance

Michelle Rodriguez appeared on MTV’s Total Request Live and Good Morning America yesterday. Her character was killed off this week’s episode of Lost, but she has played it off and insists it’s not due to her legal trouble:

The GIRL FIGHT star’s finale aired in America on Wednesday night (03MAY06) just days after her release from a Hawaii prison, where she served time for drink driving.

But she insists her legal problems had nothing to do with her departure from the show - she had always planned to quit the series before she became a regular member of the cast.

And now she’s keen to get on with her post-Lost life.

She says, “I planned it. When I signed on I kind of wanted (an) exit. I’m a gypsy, man. I need to be doing different things every year.

“I stays (sic) in one place too long, I get in trouble…”

Here’s a Good Morning America interview with Michelle and a quick recap of her death and love scene on Lost. She said that her death was planned from the beginning, but that she didn’t tell the other castmembers. She also said that her arrest taught her that it’s time to grow up.

Here are pictures of Michelle on Total Request Live [via] and some candids of her in Hollywood after being released from jail. [via] She must use the same cosmetic dentist as Hillary Duff.

Why Michelle Rodriguez really wanted to go to women’s prison

Lost star Michelle Rodriguez, 27, picked five days in prison, with credit for time served, instead of performing the equivalent of six weeks of weekday community service for her second DUI offense. It seemed like she was being arrogant and just wanted to get it over with.

She may have had another motivation for opting for close quarters with other women. News of the World has an unsurprising but titillating account of Michelle’s hot romps at lesbian clubs in NY and Miami:

Sexy Michelle found just what she was looking for at a New York club’s gay night, rubbing her boobs against a stunning babe during some very dirty dancing.

And on a visit to Miami’s Skybar the star—who was jailed for five days this week after admitting drink-driving—stripped off to go skinny dipping with a naked girl.

One onlooker at New York’s Duvet club said: “She set the place on fire and nobody could take their eyes off her, she was so sexy.”

Dressed in skin-tight striped trousers and a white vest, Michelle romped with her new pal on one of the club’s king-size beds. The onlooker said: “She was certainly not a shy girl as she pushed her breasts against the other girl’s boobs and moaned in her ear.

“It was the sexiest thing anyone had ever seen. Michelle was totally hot that night and she knew it. She seemed to be going from woman to woman, nuzzling her face in their breasts. She couldn’t keep her hands to herself. She looked like she was in heaven.”

[via]

She’s an unapologetic woman, and probably won’t care that this news gets out. News of the World quotes her as saying “I’m glad [men] stay away because they consider me intimidating or gay or whatever. It weeds out all the jerks.”

Warning Lost spoiler ahead

Michelle and Cynthia Watros, both stars on Lost, were arrested December 1, 2005 for DUI in Hawaii where the series was filming. Their characters may get killed off at the end of this season:

Now The ENQUIRER can exclusively reveal that ex-cop Ana Lucia (Rodriguez) and therapist Libby (Watros) will wind up goners on the series. A graveside scene in which the pair is laid to rest, with the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 gathered around to pay their respects, has already been filmed.

“It’s a done deal — Michelle and Cynthia’s characters will die by the season’s end,” a set insider admitted.

You can’t mess around if you’re on Lost. Anyone can die at any time on that series.

Rodriguez may get even more jail time. She faces sentencing in a separate DUI case in LA on May 5th.

Sorry that these pictures of Michelle getting all sexy with other women are low res. Maybe some better versions will come out soon.
