TV, film and recording star Minnie Driver was recently spotted exiting a clinic in Los Angeles, looking at sonogram images and acting very excited. This got the rumor mill buzzing: is she pregnant? Minnie, who is currently on hiatus from the excellent FX show “The Riches,” keeps a very low profile and has not confirmed or denied the pregnancy rumor. But if it’s true, who’s the daddy?

Actress Minnie Driver is reportedly pregnant with her first child.

The 38-year-old was spotted outside a Los Angeles baby clinic looking at sonogram images with a friend last week.

A source said: “She is absolutely thrilled. She has always wanted to be a mother, she’ll be fantastic. Her family are so pleased.”

The British star also called her boyfriend, known only as Matthew, outside the surgery and talked about “getting blood work done”.

She then added to her pal: “Matthew tells me I should be quiet so no-one hears me.”

Since being very publicly dumped by “Good Will Hunting” co-star Matt Damon over ten years ago, Minnie has kept her private life under wraps. She was engaged to “No Country For Old Men” star Josh Brolin for a while, but they broke up amid rumors that Brolin’s stepmom, Barbra Streisand, didn’t approve of Minnie. Since then, she’s been linked to Criss Angel (ew!) and “Gross Pointe Blank” co-star John Cusack. All she’s revealed about her current boyfriend is that he is “not famous and he’s Australian,” according to an interview in Girl magazine.

TMZ currently has a video posted of Minnie walking in Los Angeles wearing a loose fitting poncho, but there aren’t many other recent photos of her, so it’s impossible for me to tell if she’s pregnant. If she is, congratulations to her and her mystery man.

Last night’s Emmy awards were full of lovely gowns, with some notable hits and misses. We’ll have a “Worst Dressed” post coming up soon, and it was considerably easier to find ugly dresses at the event than it was to find ones that were spot on. The most beautiful gowns were just slightly risky with a touch of old Hollywood glamour. Simple shapes and bright colors were featured.

Thanks to JustJared for help with some of the dress designers. Yahoo! also has their top ten best and worst dressed last night, but I only agree with some of their choices.

Best Dressed: Heidi Klum in Dior by John Galliano, Portia DiRossi in Azzaro, Carrie Ann Inaba, a judge on Dancing with the Stars, in a lovely white satin and chiffon dress, and Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars in a beautiful blue strapless gown.

Beautiful runners up: Ali Larter of Heroes in red strapless Reem Acra, Kate Walsh of Grey’s in red satin, Teri Hatcher in Badgley Mischka, Minnie Driver in a canary v-neck dress with criss-cross front, Jennifer Love Hewitt in a strapless black dress with a gauzy skirt and subtle beading on the bodice.

Minnie Driver has the perfect accessories for a photo op at the beach – bikini, cell phone, and dog to play with. She must have called up a photographer friend and told them to help her out with some needed publicity. She’s ready to work and wants people to know she’s got a banging body. When my two year old son pretends to be talking on one of our cellphones, he grabs his stomach and laughs hysterically at the imagined person on the other end just like Minnie’s doing in that second pic.

According to IMDB, Driver is currently filming The Simpson’s Movie, where she will voice a to-be-named character, and has two movies in the can.

Minnie shopped mostly online for Christmas this year. She said she’s a novice at online shopping, and that she ordered gifts and had them wrapped and shipped to people. She also recommended that people give meaningful charity instead of the usual crap, and said she gave a camel for Christmas. You can give actual animals that will make a huge difference in a family’s life through Heifer International. We had an average Christmas with stuff ordered online that people don’t really need, but also continued our family tradition of giving gifts from Heifer too.

I’m not sure if these pictures are new or not, but I’m assuming they are. Let me know if you’ve seen them before. They were found at France-Vidcaps, where all the comments are in French, but from what I can tell no one is saying they’re old.
