Octomom sperm donor says she lied to him for samples, wants DNA test

90222w9_suleman_b_gr_071
A man who had a three year affair with a then-married Nadya Suleman has come forward to express his bewilderment at the story that she’s had 14 children through IVF with donor sperm. Denis Beaudoin said in an interview aired on Good Morning America today that he provided sperm samples to Nadya Suleman during a time that they were dating when she was childless and living in Connecticut. Suleman told him that she had ovarian cancer and needed to have the sperm so she could conceive before it was too late. He didn’t know that she had any children until this story received press attention. Suleman denies that Beaudoin is the father of her children, all conceived by IVF, and has listed a “David Solomon” on most of the children’s birth certificates. Beaudoin is well aware of her history of lying and wants a paternity test. He wept during the interview, and explained he’s going through a difficult time as he’s working out custody issues for his oldest son with an ex. He said that whether Suleman’s children are his or not he wants to help her out. There are plenty of nice guy suckers in this world:

sulemaninset

Denis Beaudoin, the man who says he could be the biological father of Nadya Suleman’s octuplets, said he donated his sperm to her three times without asking questions because he was young and in love.

Beaudoin said he thought it was “out of the ordinary” when she asked him to donate. “But I cared about her so much. And I mean, we were, we were in love. I mean, I loved Nadya very much,” he told Chris Cuomo in an exclusive interview with “Good Morning America.”

Beaudoin said he and Suleman had a “serious” three-year relationship from 1997 to 1999 when he was in his early 20s.

Though he and Suleman never talked about marriage, Beaudoin said when he donated the sperm he thought it would be part of “starting a family” together at some point…

Beaudoin said that at the time she first approached him about donating sperm, Suleman told him that she had ovarian cancer and was unable to conceive without the help of a doctor.

Beaudoin said they had an amicable parting, but said he never heard anything more about Suleman undergoing in vitro fertilization or trying to become pregnant.

Beaudoin said he was “shocked [and] surprised” when he first learned that Suleman had delivered octuplets on Jan. 23.

Suleman has denied that Beaudoin is the father, but he said his multiple sperm donations are cause for a paternity test.

Beaudoin said her word isn’t good enough.

“It just seems like a lot of her statements that she’s made have been really inaccurate,” he said.

“I can’t take everything she says for granted. I mean when she initially told me the whole reason why, for donating sperm in the first place, you know was to get pregnant because she was not going to be able to have kids. And it, you know, has turned into this.”

Beaudoin said he wants a DNA test just to know the truth. Regardless of the children’s paternity, Beaudoin said he is willing to help the single mother of 14 raise the children because he does not believe she can handle it on her own.

“Either which way, you know, know that if she needs it I’ll lend a helping hand,” he said. “She needs help. I mean it’s hard. It’s hard nowadays to raise two kids, let alone 14.”

[From ABC News]

I hope for this guy’s sake Suleman is telling the truth for once and she couldn’t use his sperm for whatever reason. Her children look like they could potentially be this guy’s kids given their eye shape. They may not be dark-complected enough, although it’s hard to tell. A DNA test is definitely in order. What a manipulative and sneaky woman she is. She told him she had cancer and she was cheating on her husband when she was with this guy. People are just a means for her to get whatever she wants and now she’s using the press to continue her schemes.

Nadya Suleman and some of her children are shown at the park yesterday. Do you think she would go to the park with her kids even once a week if the paps weren’t around?

Octomom: I would have liked to be on Oprah, foreclosure ‘up to my mom’

wenn5252117
US Weekly has an exclusive interview with Octuplet mom Nadya Suleman. It sounds like they were questions a paparazzo asked her on her way out of the house. Suleman’s quick answers are still revealing. She comes across better than she has in previous interviews, which is likely due to the fact that you can’t hear or see her and she doesn’t have much time to incriminate herself. She still manages to contradict previous statements she’s given. She calls the supposed single sperm donor for all her children, “David Solomon,” an “amazing friend,” although she told Hello! Magazine she only talks to the guy once a year. Reports that she is in love with him are false, she claims.

Another comment Suleman makes is that her mom will “probably lose” the house, and that the foreclosure payments are up to her. She says she’s looking for a place of her own and that it is not likely her mother will come with her:

Us: Is everyone OK? There are reports that your home is in foreclosure.
Suleman: Yeah, [mom Angela] will probably lose it. I mean, that’s up to my mom. She’s dealing with that. I’m looking for my own place.

Us: Will you live with your mom?
S: No. She doesn’t want to live with me. I really shouldn’t be talking to you at all.

Us: I saw your dad gave an interview to Oprah. Why didn’t you?
S: I really wish he didn’t. I would have liked to go on Oprah — since her audience is mainly female, I think it would have heightened things so much more. You know, it would have been way more emotional. Especially if what I said was taken out of true meaning. So, I didn’t think going on would be good for me.

Us: Are you moving into the multi-million dollar home that’s been all over the Internet?
S: No. That was just for the interviews.

Us: How was it talking to Dr. Phil?
S: He was surprisingly very nice and fair, but I really shouldn’t be talking to you.

Us: Have you spoken to David Solomon [the sperm donor for your 14 children]?
S: Look, I don’t talk about him. I want to protect his privacy.

Us: It’s being reported you two met at your job at Metropolitan Hospital.
S: I haven’t spoken to him at all.

Us: Report say he’s handsome. Are you guys planning a big reveal together?
S: I will say this. We were friends. He is an amazing friend. Strictly platonic, all the lies saying I am so in love and wanted him to leave his wife written in the National Enquirer are totally false.

Us: If you wanted this privacy, then why did you write his name on the birth certificates?
S: Actually I wasn’t going to, but the nurses kept pressing me on it. So, I did, but then afterwards, I thought I shouldn’t have done that. I didn’t even know his birthdate. I just guessed. Then I started leaving it blank.

Us: I saw you went shopping at M.A.C. the other day. Must be nice to get out and break away from your regular routine.
S: Yes, I took my daughter for a girls’ day out and needed some lip gloss and stopped by M.A.C. But, they gave me the wrong color. Everyone started approaching me in the store asking me how I was going to afford my kids and stuff. Some were really nice.

[From US Weekly]

Was Octomom even invited on Oprah?
If Suleman wanted to go on Oprah, I wonder if she wasn’t invited or if she declined. You can’t tell from the weasel way she words he answer if she said no to Oprah or if she wasn’t asked. On one hand she says she would have been an amazing guest but at the end she tries to insinuate she turned Oprah down without actually saying that. “I would have liked to go on Oprah… it would have been way more emotional… I didn’t think going on would be good for me.” My guess is that Oprah wanted to cover the story but realized the actual Octomom was way too polarizing a person and invited her dad instead. Oprah probably didn’t want to court that kind of controversy by featuring Nadya despite the anticipated ratings.

It seems unfair that Nadya would let her mother lose the house she gave her to live in with her children, especially if Nadya has money coming in now from interviews and picture licensing. According to MSNBC’s The Scoop, it is Nadya’s mother Angela who is working out the deals for licensing for the family photos. Maybe Angela is making some money from this sad affair after all. One report has TMZ paying $22,000 just for the pregnant with octuplets photo. It’s possible that Angela won’t lose the home in which she raised her grandchildren, but it also sounds like she doesn’t want to stay there and wants tp start fresh somewhere new.

Nadya doesn’t seem to mind if her children lose their primary caregiver. She’ll just keep justifying everything in her mind, spending and living how she wants and never noticing the state of her children’s chaotic lives. Except now she has a lot more people enabling her to live that way instead of just her parents.

Here is Nadya Suleman getting Starbucks yesterday after she returns home from the hospital, where she spent five hours with her premature octuplets. One thing I noticed from these photos is that Octomom’s toenails are painted. Of course they are.

Octuplet Grandfather: “I question [Nadya's] mental situation.”

Octuplets
Advance details of Octuplet mom Nadya Suleman’s father’s interview with Oprah have come out. Grandfather of 14 Ed Doud repeated his ex-wife’s claim that his daughter is not all there mentally and called it “irresponsible” of her IVF doctor to implant so many embryos at once. Like his daughter, he called the children “given by God” despite the fact that they wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the unique advantages that science can offer.

The father of the California woman who recently gave birth to octuplets told Oprah Winfrey that he hopes people don’t punish his grandchildren for his daughter’s irresponsible behavior.

Ed Doud said in an interview taped Thursday for “The Oprah Winfrey Show” that the actions of his daughter, Nadya Suleman, and her doctor were “absolutely irresponsible.” But he also issued a plea for the public’s help, according to excerpts of the interview released by Harpo Productions Inc.

“You know what? She needs help. I say to everybody now _ people _ we do need help,” Doud said. “Do not punish my daughter for what she had done and do not punish the babies, because they were given by God.”

A California-based nonprofit called Angels in Waiting has offered Suleman round-the-clock care and a place to stay with her 14 children. It would cost about $135,000 a month to provide the 12 caretakers necessary for the children, money that would have to come from public donations, founder Linda West Conforti said in Los Angeles.

The organization has the trained nursing personnel and experience in caring for very sick children, she said. The group, however, could only provide care for a limited time without the donations, she said…

In response to a question about whether he thinks his daughter is mentally stable, Doud said, “Now I’m no psychiatrist, but I question her mental situation.”

Doud said he hopes Suleman will finish her education and start working so she can help support the family.

[From AP via Huffington Post]

It surprises me that this guy’s name is Ed Doud because I thought his name was Ed Suleman. There are a lot of confusing details in this case that aren’t helped by the fact that Suleman is an accomplished liar. According to The Telegraph, Ed and his ex-wife, Angela, were married in 1974 and divorced in 1999 and “put aside their differences to help their only child raise her burgeoning brood.” Is that called enabling or just being concerned for the safety and well being of your grandchildren? It could be a little of both.

Of course this delusional woman needs help caring for all these children and of course her innocent children shouldn’t suffer at all. Her parents will continue to run themselves ragged trying to make sure her children aren’t wanting. She’s going to get a lot of cash for her outrageous story and she’ll waste a lot of it on her personal appearance and frivolous items, as I railed about earlier today. It’s hard to feel for her at all when she’s had so much work done on her face, is spotted out shopping at MAC and Nordstroms, defaults on her house payments and then goes and buys another, larger home. She also got pregnant again with multiple babies after she declared bankruptcy, and claimed multiple times that she doesn’t take taxpayer money despite the fact that she’s on food stamps and 1/2 of her older children get disability.

What is the solution to this outrageous story? This sociopath has worked the system, and her own family, for years. Now she’s going to milk the media in her manipulative delusional way and get as much money and recognition as she can out of it. Even her own family thinks she’s crazy. They’ll continue watching her poor kids, though, while she continues to claim that she’s such a great mother because she read a few books about it in school.

Octomom plans to buy 1.2 mil home, stages interview w/ ET there (update)

spl81836_007
As a person who pays taxes, pays my bills, and pays close attention to my one cherished child, Octomom grates on me. Greedy bankers and thieving bastards like Madoff should technically draw more ire, but they’re not getting as much press at the moment as this one obnoxious woman with 14 children, a distorted face and an enormous sense of entitlement.

According to TMZ, Nadya Suleman has found another home to which she plans to move. Her mother failed to pay the mortgage on their existing home for over 10 months and it’s set for foreclosure. Suleman is now looking at a $1.2 million home in the same area that she lives. If she has the money now after all that media wrangling, do you think she’s going to pay off the $23,224 her mother owes on the existing home first, or is she just going to let it get auctioned off? Suleman even arranged for an interview to take place at the new pad. Splash News photo agency reports that she met with Entertainment Tonight there:

We just called back our contact at Century 21, the agency that has listed the house. They claim Nadya is indeed an interested buyer. But here’s the rub. We’re told a big TV show has the house for the day and is there doing a sit-down interview with Nadya….

UNBELIEVABLE!!! We’ve confirmed OctoMom Nadya Suleman is looking to buy a home listed for $1.24 MILLION!

Octo is there right now … the house is in Whittier, California. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms and a pool with no safety gates. Perfect for 14 kids.

A real estate source tells TMZ the owner canceled showings today specifically because Octo wanted to see it. She needs it because the house she’s living in now may be on its way to the auction block — as in foreclosure.

[From TMZ]

The photos of the home are below and while it’s decent looking structurally the furniture is pretty tacky. I tried to find the listing on Century 21′s site for Whittier, CA, but the website is down now, probably from the increased traffic. Maybe the furniture isn’t included with the home. I would expect MC Hammer levels of tacky excess from this woman, though, so I guess it’s not that bad. We all know what happened to Hammer’s wealth and he’s a decent guy.

This woman is having a windfall by licensing photos of her children and getting paid for interviews, but how much do you want to bet she blows through it quickly again and ends up broke before she knows it? It seems like she has no clue how to manage money. It baffles me that she’ll be able to buy a house even though she just declared bankruptcy last year. Obviously she now has some money in the bank. She’s going to waste it on frivolous things, and we’ll be hearing about her sad state in a year or two as she comes back to the media and whines about how all this stuff she couldn’t control happened to her. Only this time people won’t be paying attention and will be saying “told you so.” Her kids hopefully won’t be without shelter or food, although they’re surely lacking in less tangible things with that type of mother.

Suleman’s older children’s birth certificates show different birth dates for their father
TMZ has obtained the birth certificates for all of Suleman’s children, and they all have this supposed “David Solomon” listed as their father, which is suspicious enough given the similarity to Suleman’s name. “Solomon” has all different birth dates listed on the birth certificates, and they usually differ by about one or two digits, like 5/25/75, 6/25/73, and 5/25/73. No father is on the birth certificates for the Biblically named octuplets.

Update: TMZ reports that Suleman answered “I wish” when asked if she were buying the home. She was supposedly just sitting down there for an interview with Dr. Phil. Splash News reports that she met Entertainment Tonight there so maybe she scheduled multiple interviews at once. TMZ also claims that they have real estate sources that say she was looking to buy the home, which she sort-of denied, but it’s not like we can believe anything that this woman says.

Thanks to Splash News for these photos.

Bankrupt Octomom’s house in foreclosure as she has 2 nannies

spl81549_002
America’s most deserving media scapegoat, Octuplet mom Nadya Suleman, is looking for a new home. The filthy three bedroom bungalow she shares with her parents and six older children in Whittier, California is almost 10 months behind in mortgage payments which total $23,224.98. That’s the cost of one IVF treatment course right there.

Could Nadya Suleman be out on the street with her 14 children?

Usmagazine.com has confirmed Suleman’s mom, Angela (who owns the home), hasn’t paid the mortgage on her three-bedroom, one-bath bungalow in Whittier, Calif., in 10 months. She owes $23,224.98 in back payments.

As TMZ.com first reported, the mortgage company filed a “Notice of Default and Election to Sell Under Deed of Trust” on Feb. 5 — or, in other words, a notice that the bank could auction off the property.

“It’s not my home. I got to move,” Nadya told Extra Wednesday. “Yeah, I need a new house.”

It’s the second Suleman home that has faced foreclosure.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Angela filed for bankruptcy last March, and ended up selling another nearby home she’d purchased for $615,000 in 2006 for just $369,375 in 2008 after the bank began foreclosure procedures.

Angela has said the Whittier, Calif. residence isn’t ideal for raising her daughter’s brood. (Nadya is unemployed and receives food stamps; her father, Ed — who will tell his story to Oprah Winfrey next week — has worked as a contractor in Iraq to help pay bills.)

“The house is too small,” Angela told Us Weekly in its newest issue, on stands now.

[From US Weekly]

The stuff Suleman spends her (government) money on
British sources reported yesterday that Suleman can afford a $500 a week nanny as well as private schooling for an unknown number of her older children. She has also undergone multiple obvious elective plastic surgery procedures, which she denies, including a nose job, lip fillers, and a rumored brow lift and breast augmentation. Suleman has acrylic nails, which cost $25 and up for an initial application and around $15 for weekly maintenance filling. She has been seen out buying video games for her children and was most recently spotted at high end cosmetics store MAC. She only blew $14.50 on some clear lip gloss, though. MAC lip gloss is awesome but if you’re going to spend that kind of money you should get some color for it.

Suleman has no apparent non-government source of income, is $50,000 in debt, and is studying for a masters degree in counseling at California state. She declared bankruptcy last March and has been getting by on disability for three of her older children along with food stamps, which she calls “temporary.”

Suleman has gone by several different names
She has gone by multiple different names that cannot be explained by her one marriage, which ended in 2000. She tried to change her name to “Nadya Solomon” in 2001, but did not follow through. She claims that “David Soloman” is the name of the supposed friend who donated the sperm which resulted in all of her children. Many news outlets have pointed out the striking similarity to her own name and have questioned whether she made up the name of the sperm donor in order to protect his identity or to perhaps make it seem as if she did not use an anonymous donor.

Dropped by two different PR Firms
Suleman has a new public relations person who goes simply by the name of “Victor.” She was dropped by her last PR firm after they received death threats, and a new agent she hired initially confirmed that he was representing her but then abruptly dropped out, saying that no deal was made.

How she’ll pay for her lifestyle and children
It is thought that the Suleman family is getting paid licensing fees for photographs and being paid for interviews. Nadya told Hello! that she has plans to write a book, but that she considers reality television “exploitive.” While NBC denies paying Suleman for her first interview, she was featured in a big spread in UK’s Hello Magazine this week and has also given interviews to other outlets. The state of California needs to reevaluate whether she needs those checks they’ve been sending her and maybe they should launch an investigation to see what kind of fraud she’s committed in order to get government assistance.

Some factual details from Wikipedia.

Here is Suleman at the park with some of her older children on 2/18/09. She had two nannies with her for just three children according to photo agency Splash, but maybe those are just friends. She was also seen going to the bank and to Nordstroms.

Octuplet Mom plans book, says ‘I will not allow a doctor to play God’

spl80695_008
Octuplet Mom Nadya Suleman has a huge photo spread and interview in this week’s Hello! Magazine from the UK and you can bet she was paid a nice sum for it. The accompanying interview features more of Suleman’s by now well-recognized self-justification for having a whopping 14 children without a partner, with no job, and relying on the government and her parents for support. In the article, she reveals what many have suspected for a while: she got implanted with all six or seven embryos, it’s hard to tell with her, because she thought they were all “alive” and she couldn’t bear to part with even one. These are day old fertilized eggs, they’re not babies. She also adds the gem that she wouldn’t “allow a doctor to play God” despite the fact that many would argue that’s what she’s been doing all along:

Why weren’t six enough?
“I wanted one more because I had these frozen embryos. Otherwise, I would have been done. To me, the embryos were alive, and I couldn’t imagine not having them.”

As with all your pregnancies, you had six embryos implanted. How soon did you learn that they’d all taken?
“Right away, I was told I was having five. A week later, they said six. Three weeks later they said seven.” [It was eventually discovered that two of the embryos had divided into twins.]

You knew multiple births were possible, and of the health risks…
“Multiples were a concern. But never in my wildest imagination did I believe there would be more than one or two. I had to learn to let go of that fear [of multiples], because I believe things happen for a reason. I will not allow a doctor to play God and pick which embryos are more valuable than the other. My children are all healthy. Even my child with autism is so amazing and loving.

[From Hello! Magazine, February 9, 2009, print edition, emphasis added]

She has three kids that are getting SSI disability payments monthly from the state, and she told Ann Curry that one was autistic, one had ADHD and a third has “mild speech delay” and “maybe tiny characteristics of autism.” But if she thinks they’re all healthy then the state of California shouldn’t be footing the bill for any of them, especially since her family is sending the autistic son to a private school that costs $1,800 a month. Suleman says in this interview that more than one of her children is in private school, too. She also adds the same lie she’s already been caught telling that she’s not on government assistance, technically she’s not on “welfare,” but then backtracks and admits to using disability for her children and food stamps “temporarily.” As for how she’ll go back to school, she somehow believes her college’s daycare center is going to accept all eight of her newborns along with her twins.

Are you living off welfare now?
“I’ve never been on welfare nor do I intend to me. I did resort to receiving food stamps. That was way before this pregnancy. Had I been taking advantage of the system I would have taken them years ago. I feel guilty. I was reluctant.” [Note by Celebitchy: it's hard to tell what she means here, but this is how it is written]

You are now planning to go back to university to finish your master’s degree in counselling. How can you possibly manage this?
“I’m hoping the babies will be strong enough to attend the daycare center on my university campus. So the twins and octuplets will go there. The others will be in school, except for Aidan who is autistic – a nanny is imperitive.”

You were injured… in 1999… Are you still receiving any disability payments?
“No. The only help I get that will probably continue is for Aidan. Two of my other kids have been receiving help, but it’s only temporary.

[From Hello! Magazine, February 9, 2009, print edition, emphasis added]

You can see how she justifies her lies to herself. She says she doesn’t get welfare or government assistance, but then admits she does get “temporary” assistance.

On how she is going to manage with her children, Suleman reveals that she plans to write a book. She recently told TMZ that she had no plans to do reality show and called it “exploitation.”

“When Aidan was diagnosed with autism, I had thought of writing a book. That’s still a goal. Now, of course, I’ll include the octuplets.”

I wonder what kind of advance she’s asking for. The state of California is laying off 20,000 state workers because it can’t afford to pay them. She needs to have all government assistance immediately stopped. I wouldn’t say this if I thought her children would suffer at all.

Octuplet mom Nadya Suleman’s Dr. implanted a 49 yo w/ 7 embryos

Micheal M Kamrava Director of Embryo Implantation, leaves his cl
Octuplet mom Nadya Suleman told many lies in her interview with Ann Curry. She said that she hadn’t had any plastic surgery or lip augmentation, that she wasn’t relying on taxpayer money despite the fact that she receives food stamps and three out of six of her older children are on disability, and she denied an obsession with Angelina Jolie. She also said that the same doctor implanted her with “the same” number of embryos each time she was pregnant, six, and that this time it just “worked a little too well.”

Nadya’s mother Angela denies that her daughter went to the same IVF doctor this last time. Angela, the primary caregiver for Nadya’s six older children, claimed that she and her husband spoke to the doctor and pleaded with him not to work with Nadya again to implant her with more children she couldn’t care for. The result is that Nadya doctor shopped until she found someone willing to implant her with all the remaining embryos she had left over from earlier IVF treatments, according to her mother.

According to Nadya, she used the same guy each time and he always used six embryos at a pop, but the sneaky way she words this really makes it sound to me like she had more implanted this last time.

unequivically – I went to the same physician where I was comfortable and the same thing was done. This was just a completely different outcome

Dr. Kamrava declined out request for an interview.

Nadya says her doctor routinely transferred about six embyros because of her troubled medical history, which she says lowered the odds that any embryos would survive.. And that’s what she says happened in the procedure that led to the octuplets.

Ann Curry: You didn’t want just one or two embryos?

Nadya Suleman: Of course not. I wanted them all transferred. Those are my – those are my children. And that’s what was available. And I used ‘em. So, I took a risk. It’s a gamble. It always is.

[From MSNBC]

Now Dr. Kamrava, the fertility doctor who thought it was a great idea to implant a single mother of six children with six embryos (or was it seven?) is under investigation. He recently implanted a 49 year-old woman with seven embryos, which resulted in quadruplets. The recommendation for women over 35 is that they be implanted with two or less embryos due to potential medical complications:

The fertility doctor that helped Nadya Suleman give birth to octuplets also provided treatment to a 49-year-old woman who is pregnant with quadruplets, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Sources tell the newspaper that Dr. Michael Kamrava implanted at least seven embryos from younger donor eggs into the woman, who is currently hospitalized.

“I do think it is concerning, and dangerous, especially to the mother,” a doctor familiar with the case told the Times. “She is close to 50. When women get to be that age, our fear is the cardiovascular complications, such as stroke or heart attack. That’s how serious this is.”

Suleman told the Today Show’s Ann Curry she was implanted with six embryos, some of which split.

Kamrava is under investigation by the California Medical Board and American Society for Reproductive Medicine, which recommends women under 35 are implanted with no more than two embryos.

[From US Weekly]

Nadya Suleman has a history of lying through her teeth, so I would bet that her mom is correct and she got implanted by a different doctor with all those leftover day old embryos she couldn’t bear to leave sitting there. No matter what happened, this guy needs to lose his license to say the least. Doctor Kamrava has been sued at least six times in malpractice cases brought against him by former patients, according to legal documents uncovered by Splash photo agency. He’s also been sued twice by employees, and had to pay out $275,000 to a former embryologist he worked with who sued him for breach of contract. The embryologist claimed he fired her after she complained about the secrecy surrounding his work.

Meanwhile the Octomom was seen out along without any of her six older children at a video game store buying games. Nice to know where those donations and tax dollars are going, although she’s probably spending NBC’s money at this point.

Nadya Suleman sent Angelina Jolie multiple letters, ‘creeped her out’

lifestyle21

Nadya Suleman claimed she didn’t have an obsession with Angelina Jolie, despite clearly having cosmetic surgery (which she denies) that makes her look more like Jolie (which she also denies). She told Ann Curry, “I have never thought of Angelina Jolie except the last time I saw one of her movies.” However according to the Chicago Sun-Times, that’s far from the truth. Suleman has sent Angelina letters over the past year, which, according to sources in the Jolie camp, complete creeped her out. Not surprising, considering how dishonest Suleman was about so many other things in her NBC interview.

Along with many Americans, Angelina Jolie herself is said to be ”totally creeped out” by Nadya Suleman, the now-infamous mother of six who just gave birth to octuplets — all thanks to artificial insemination. Though Suleman categorically denies she’s undergone any plastic surgery to make her look like Jolie, neighbors, friends and family members of the unemployed single mom of 14 challenge those denials — as do earlier photographs of Suleman clearly indicating thinner lips and a different-looking nose.

Furthermore, a source close to Jolie — herself the mother of six children — tells me it’s not just reading about Suleman in the press that fuels the Oscar winner’s irritation.

Apparently, over the past year or so, Suleman has made attempts to reach out the the actress — sending her admiring letters and extolling her talent and humanitarian efforts on behalf of children’s issues around the world.

”At least she wasn’t a total crazy … like the stalkers who try to actually meet Angelina and follow along with the paparazzi,” added the source, who also said, ”It is clear this woman needs psychological help. It’s one thing to clip out a celebrity’s photo from a magazine and ask your [hair] stylist to copy that cut. Who hasn’t done that? But to have a nose job, have collagen injections in your lips and start talking like Angelina — that’s over the top.”

[From the Chicago Sun-Times]

Nadya Suleman just keeps digging herself into a deeper and deeper PR nightmare. She’s claimed she doesn’t receive welfare, but admits she does get all sorts of government payments, including food stamps and child disability payments for three of her oldest six kids. She’s also claimed she hasn’t been paid for any interviews – a statement which NBC has echoed – though it’s now seeming very likely that’s untrue as well.

DID the NBC network pay Octomom Nadya Suleman close to $1 million for coverage of the maniacal mother and her eight preemie babies? NBC vehemently denies it. But an insider told us, “Everything was filmed. The birth, everything. Then [Suleman's people] said negotiations would start at $1.2 million for the video and pictures, which is when producers from Oprah Winfrey, ABC and CBS left the room. NBC stayed.” Our source suspects that NBC made a “donation” through an intermediary. Suleman gave Ann Curry the interview, in which she said a lonely childhood made her want to birth 14 kids with a sperm donor. An NBC rep said, “NBC News does not pay for interviews. We did not pay Nadya Suleman, or anyone who represents her, for our interview. We didn’t license a single photo or video from her or anyone who represents her. Not a dime. There is no deal with anyone at NBC Universal or NBC News.”

[From Page Six]

What’s more, Nadya and her family have been getting death threats. Even her publicist has gotten them – forcing everyone to relocate last week. Can you imagine trying to pack up that whole family and hide?

Nadya Suleman, the now-infamous mother of octuplets, has received death threats, her publicist, Joann Killeen, claims. Killeen says the threats got so bad that Suleman, 33, and her other six children recently moved into a rented house and out of the home she was sharing with her parents in southern California.

“Because of the death threats to Nadya and her family, as well as the death threats to me and my agency, we were in a secure location last week,” Killeen says on Thursday’s Dr. Phil show. “When the risk was determined, it was no longer a high threat, we were able to leave that location.”

Suleman and her children are now back with her parents… On Wednesday, blogs were abuzz after Suleman launched a Web site, asking people for donations.

Dr. Phil says people need to focus on the children’s well being. “There are 14 children here,” he said. “We always say we don’t want to throw out the baby with the bath water. Well, we don’t want to throw out the babies with the mother here. We’ve got to focus on these kids.”

[From Us Weekly]

Obviously the octuplets didn’t pack up and move with Suleman since they’re still in the hospital, but that must have been quite the ordeal, nonetheless. I certainly understand why people are upset about this situation and upset with this woman, but threatening her life and/or the safety of her children is absolutely uncalled for. There should be all kinds of investigations into how this was allowed to happen. Whatever doctor implanted her embryos is incredibly unethical at best.

But in the long run, let’s hope Nadya finds a decent way to support her children financially and give them what they need. Rarely do I agree with Dr. Phil – and I haven’t seen the entire show yet, so I’m only referring to his quote from Us Weekly about supporting the kids – but in this case, it seems he’s right.

Nadya Suleman launches website asking for donations

brandnewspics-209

Nadya Suleman, now mother to 14 kids, has started a website to get people to help her pay for her babies. All of whom she had using in vitro fertilization, so they were obviously very much planned pregnancies. Nadya admits she is $50,000 in debt and has all sorts of government assistance, none of which she considers welfare. She gets food stamps, and three of her older six children get some form of child disability funds. Nadya has said that she’s sure God will somehow provide for her and her brood of 14, and apparently the best way for that to happen is through a website that’s just been started by her publicist.

The site, called, “Welcome to The Nadya Suleman Family Website,” has pictures of some of the babies and Nadya. Under her photo is the caption, “Proud mother of 14.” Each baby’s photo has the birth order, the name, sex, and weight of the child. They’re obviously all very tiny and hooked up to medical equipment. There are a lot of thank yous for the support and love she’s been given from the public, and even an option to leave a comment. But most importantly, there are three different spots asking for donations. And Nadya’s made it really convenient for everyone to give her money. There’s a nice little PayPal option, in addition to traditional mail.

I was most intrigued by the comment spot, but sadly you can’t read what’s been left for Nadya. It’s not a traditional comment thread in that sense, and the reason is obvious: most of the comments probably aren’t going to be that nice. So I’m wondering why they included that at all.

Celebitchy confirmed that the website is run by Nadya’s publicist – whose name is listed at the bottom of the webpage. Her name also comes up when you do a whois.com search on the domain. It also says the domain name was registered on Monday.

I’d consider this disgusting… and I guess it is, on Nadya’s part. But when I think about those poor kids, I feel incredibly badly for them and the situation they’re probably going to be in for most of their childhoods. I hope Nadya realizes she’s begging and feels uncomfortable about it, but in all likelihood it seems she’s just trying to profit off the kids. Clearly their purpose in the world is to fill some deep psychological void within her – not to actually be kids. I hope somehow they have happy childhoods and end up being well provided for. But they certainly deserved better than this.

Thanks to commenter “bros” for pointing out the website.

Octuplet mom Nadya Suleman denies obsession with Angelina Jolie

lifestyle2
The full interview between Ann Curry and octuplet mom Nadya Suleman aired on NBC’s Dateline last night. To her credit Curry did broach the subject of plastic surgery and a certain superficial, caricature-like resemblance that Suleman bears to Angelina Jolie. Many people speculated that Suleman was obsessed with the actress, who also has a houseful of young children, except she also has a partner, paid help, and the means to take care of them. Suleman denied knowing much about Jolie, although that doesn’t mean much considering that she denied receiving government assistance while she relies on food stamps and SSI payments for three of her older kids. She also said she hadn’t augmented her giant, puffy fish lips. It’s clear this lady has a slippery relationship with the truth.

NBC insists that it hasn’t paid Suleman at all, despite rumors that she received $300,000 for the interview. Suleman was pretty vague when asked how she planned to support her huge family, and admitted that she’s fifty thousand dollars in debt, doesn’t have a job, and has been living on student loans and “temporary” government assistance:

We did not pay Nadya nor make any deals for this interview, which has already sparked Internet chatter even about her appearence.

More than a few also commented on her appearance. One viewer asked, “Have you noticed that this mother looks like she’s had plastic surgery and looks and acts like Angelina Jolie?”

Nadya Suleman: I have never thought of Angelina Jolie except the last time I saw one of her movies. I think that was years ago. It is so far away from the place I’m in right now to think of think of any celebrity.

Ann Curry: Have you had your lips done?

Nadya Suleman: No. No.

Ann Curry: I want to give you a chance to answer the criticism on Main Street. Why is it responsible for a single woman without a job with six kids to bring eight more children into this world?

Nadya Suleman: I am responsible. I’ve chosen never to go on welfare. I feel as though it is my responsibility to do what I can to provide for my children.

Nadya points out repeatedly that she’s never taken welfare. But today she confrimed that she’s receiving $490 a month in food stamps.

Nadya Suleman: I’m not living off of any taxpayer money. If I am – if it’s food stamps, it’s a temporary resource. And – we – my family received maybe about a year and a half ago. And during school – and it’s only for food. And I am so reluctant. I – I so look forward to the day when I’m not getting any kind of help with food stamps, which, I believe, will end right when I graduate. Right about a year, a year and a half.

During the time she gave birth to her first six children she went to college and graduate school and stayed home from work and collected disability payments that totaled about $165,000.

Ann Curry: So your only income are your disability payments? Is that where your – what your income is now?

Nadya Suleman: Um. No. My disability stopped.

Ann Curry: Okay.

Nadya Suleman: So it stopped when I was pregnant.

Ann Curry: So do you have any income at all?

Nadya Suleman: At this time, it was just student loans.

Ann Curry: You’re saying that you’re going to use student loans to help raise your children.

Nadya Suleman: Temporarily. Temporarily.

Ann Curry: Do you have any way of paying back these loans?

Nadya Suleman: Yes, when I work, when I’m working.

Ann Curry: How much -

Nadya Suleman: – as a counselor.

Ann Curry: – in debt do you have now?

Nadya Suleman: Probably 50. Close to 50.

Ann Curry: Thousand dollars.

Nadya Suleman: Mmm-hmm.

Ann Curry: How is that not like welfare?

Nadya Suleman: Oh no. These are student loans. You consolidate the loans, you pay it back. We don’t pay back welfare.

[From MSNBC]

Suleman’s older children were also shown on the program. Three out of six of them are receiving disability. One boy, Aidan, 3, is autistic, another child has ADHD and a third has “mild speech delay” and “maybe tiny characteristics of autism,” according to Suleman. Still, she doesn’t think she’s “living off of any taxpayer money.” She admits some of her octuplet newborns are at risk for cerebral palsy, and you can bet she’ll be trying to get some monthly checks for them too.

If this woman didn’t have a record setting eight babies at once and all the media opportunities that go along with that she’d probably be in much deeper sh*t now with all that debt and so many children at home. She’s a media lightning rod, and while she’ll get paid for something it’s not like companies are going to be clamoring to be associated with her.
