Nicole Richie recently redesigned her engagement ring from AM from their first go-around, preserving the stone to use in a new setting. The couple is said to be making it official this July:

That sounds romantic, although we have to disagree that Nicole has put on weight. The couple broke up in December, 2005, and reconciled about two months ago.

Richie must be feeling particularly tender toward AM. He is recovering from “follow-up” work for his 2003 gastric bypass surgery, widely rumored to be plastic surgery to remove excess skin.

Nicole Richie says that she realizes she’s thin, but still shows how out of touch with reality she is when she attributes her weight loss to exercise:

The girl can’t do cardio because she’ll collapse! She needs to gain at least 20 pounds. Here’s Nicole getting her nails done. She’s still wearing the red bracelet on her right hand. Kabbalah followers wear it on their left hand, but a red string on the right hand is a sign of anorexic pride.

Apparently she’s “superstitious,” but we just think she’s pushing AM into another engagement and doesn’t want to wait for him to get her a new ring:

“Unoffically engaged” is like being a “little bit pregnant” - it doesn’t exist except in the minds of people who really want to make it happen.

Guess the text messages that Paris sent Nicole in a bid to reconcile with her ex friend were just “words that she wrote” because Paris lost her patience with Nicole and has talked a bunch of trash about her:

Paris - your sister’s name is Nicky. It’s very similar to Nicole and all, but they’re different people.

Also, speaking of letting fame get to your head - what is up with this video of you taking your own picture over and over again?

DJ AM’s surprise birthday party was held on April 1st at Pure nightclub in Las Vegas. AM turned 33 on March 30th. AM’s girlfriend, Nicole Richie, 24, was there along with guests pictured including DJ Jazzy Jeff, Tone Loc, Vanessa Traina, and Richie’s stylist, Rachel Zoe. The cake featured an edible old school turntable complete with vinyl-looking record.

So after AM partied it up at the Winter Music Festival in Miami, he headed down to Mexico to enjoy some alone time with Nicole Richie. The two were spotted smooching and hanging out on the beach.

Nicole Richie is set to write a style guide that will rival the newly announced “Fashion Bible” by illiterate Victoria Beckham.

Richie is said to be considering the boring title “Nicole Richie Style” and the content is predictable:

Nicole Richie has said that her childhood was so happy that it lead her to do drugs:

Nicole has been cared for by Lionel Richie and his wife from the age of three. She is the daughter of a drummer that worked with Richie and one of his backstage assistants, and was formally adopted when she was nine. Even if she says things were fine and she had a good childhood, she may have been conflicted about her adoption. When someone says they don’t want to feel anything, they’re trying to deny that there’s anything wrong.

Nicole Richie makes a feeble attempt to deflect well-deserved speculation about her weight by stating that she just loves fast food:

Richie is hounded by photographers everywhere she goes, and apart from this picture where she’s uncomfortably eating a hotdog at a Knicks game, which she no doubt purged as soon as possible, there’s little evidence that she enjoys fast food. Richie has been seen entering fast food establishments - and coming out with only beverages. She’s undoubtedly fooling herself with these latest comments.

Here’s Richie with some flattering hair extensions at the Prince show at Teddy’s in Hollywood, CA yesterday. Paris also attended the show, but there’s no word whether the two ex-friends met up. We would bet they were pointedly ignoring one another.

Richie’s boyfriend, DJ AM, is in Miami for the popular Winter Music Conference, so not much can be inferred from the fact that he didn’t go to the show with her.

What power does Nicole Richie have over men? Not only does she get them to cream their pants almost immediately, but they brag about it afterwards. First Busta Rhymes is proud that he gave it to her “real quick” and now director Kevin Smith says that his friend Jason Mewes of Jay and Silent Bob fame lasted less than a minute with Richie in a bathroom:

Oh no they didn’t has the unrated version from a student who says he was at Smith’s speech and heard the sordid sex in the bathroom tale.

If Richie is going to sleep around, at least she’s realistic and doesn’t expect her throwaways to have staying power. You’ve got to hand it to her, she’s not some weepy chick who think it means something. Our respect for Ms. Richie is growing. Girl power. [via]

Paris Hilton is looking to reconcile with estranged friend and Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie, but she’s doing it in a half-assed way - via SMS:

So Paris wants to make up with Nicole to further her career? Like everything else she does, this is all too transparent and Nicole won’t be having it.
