Noah Cyrus, 10 years old, is our new Ali Lohan, right?

noah_cyrus_3_wenn3038069

Here are some new photos of Miley Cyrus’s mom Tish and Miley’s 10-year-old sister Noah out and about in Hollywood yesterday. Actually, WENN notes that Tish is bringing Noah to an audition for The Wizards of Waverly Place. Is this how children dress for auditions? Did Noah borrow her big sister’s biker boots and Tish arranged for Noah to wear a little mini-dress? Of course, this is WAY more covered up than Noah usually is. Remember her Halloween costume last year (she was some kind of dominatrix, I believe)? Of how about her little outfit she wore backstage at one of Miley’s shows, when Noah performed Akon’s “Smack That” to a crowd of adults? Yeah. The Cyrus family wouldn’t know “appropriate” if it beat them with a mullet. Also – this is kind of a random outing for a paparazzi to catch – is Tish calling the paps?

I consistently get the feeling that Noah is to the Cyrus family what Ali Lohan is to the Lohan family. Ali = Noah, right? They are younger sisters of successful older sisters, and both Ali and Noah seem to want to emulate their big sisters’ fame, but not necessarily their career success. Maybe I’m not giving Noah a chance though – she could be as much of a workhorse as Miley – Miley has spent her teenage years working her ass off and supporting her family, and maybe that’s what Noah wants too. But I still think that Tish and The Mullet need their heads examined – any comparison between the Cyruses and the Lohans should be cause for extreme alarm, and Tish and Billy Ray just sit back and do nothing. Nothing but allow their 10-year-old daughter to promote her own lingerie line, that is.

One more thing – Noah is still on Twitter. Last year, CB called out Tish and Billy Ray for allowing Noah so much free access to Twitter, and for letting her post all of those odd Twit-pics that must be Exhibit A-Z in some pedobear’s trial. Anyway, apparently Noah was tweeting away her heartbreak when she learned that Justin Bieber had a girlfriend. She tweeted: “u dont know who u r but u also dont know u broke my heart and millions of others.” Ugh.

She certainly knows where the camera is at all times, doesn’t she? She’s very aware of it. Just wait.

Miley Cyrus: “‘Omigosh, Australia looks like Nashville!”

last_song_6_wenn2787563

Last night was the big premiere of The Last Song, the weepy, wrought family drama/teen romance film starring Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. I have to give it to Miley, she actually looked really nice and sweet for the premiere. Even though that dress is mostly leather. But it’s a good cut! And she looks covered up and pretty, so I forgive the leather. Liam looked handsome too. They actually looked like…(gasp)… a very attractive young couple who “dressed up” in a classy way for a professional event. Well done!

Before I get to the other people at the premiere, I just wanted to share this new Miley Cyrus interview from The Telegraph. I’ve noted in the past few weeks that it seems like Miley is maturing in a really interesting, unpredictable way. Her interviews as of late have been remarkably candid, honest and interesting. However, she’s still the girl who owns dozens of pairs of booty shorts, talks like she’s mid gum-smack, and in the words of The Telegraph writer, “She talks quickly in a deep, husky voice and opinions, thoughts and ideas tumble from her, liberally interspersed with “likes” and “you knows.”” This piece had some good quotes (full piece here):

On the scandals that have surrounded her: “Every career thing I do can’t be perfect and sometimes my decisions are wrong,” she admitted frankly. “I always say the minute I stop making mistakes is the minute I stop learning and I’ve definitely learned a lot. When you’re a pop star or whatever you always have ‘people.’ You always hear, ‘my people will call your people’ but you can’t let your people talk for you all the time because you’re the only person who knows yourself and what you truly want.”

On Liam Hemsworth: “He’s a 6ft 4in tall Australian surfer and I’m 5ft 4in from Tennessee and I couldn’t surf if someone gave me ten million dollars so we couldn’t be more opposite,” she laughed. “But I went to Australia to visit him and his family and I was like, ‘Omigosh, this looks like Nashville.’ There were like cows everywhere. I am like, ‘how are you from the opposite side of the planet and your world looks just like mine?’ My dad’s just happy that I have something going on in my life with someone normal. No psychos, so that’s good.” She chuckles throatily.

On the end of Hannah Montana: “We’re halfway into the last season and it’s kind of bittersweet for me,” said Miley. “It’s like my security blanket, my comfort zone: I know that’s where I’m going to be from 8.30am to 6pm. I’ve always had the show to lean on, and to not have it to lean on in the future will be different for me, so who knows?”

On filming The Last Song: “It came up at a crazy time because I had a tour, I was working on the show and I thought it might be impossible to fit it in, but it all fell into place. It was perfect, because that’s what this movie’s about: things coming together so beautifully against all odds.”

On needing acting lessons: “I’ve not taken like acting lessons or anything but it doesn’t mean I don’t need to because I’m sure I do,” she said. “Once I watch this film in the theatre I’m probably going to go book an acting coach.”

On her career choices from here: “I’m kind of bipolar in my acting choices because I just want to do a little bit of everything,” she said. “One day I’m telling my mom, you know, I want to do an action movie and then I want to be doing comedy and then all different types of things. I get a little bored so hopefully I’ll get a chance to do a little bit of everything.”

[From The Telegraph]

See? I’m finding it harder not to like her. While I’ve never really gathered an opinion of Miley as an actress beyond “annoying” or “meh,” I like that she’s coming out ahead of the potential criticism of her acting chops and being honest about maybe needing a coach. Of course, if she’s still pulling that line three years from now, it will start to be not so cute and not so refreshing. So I hope Miley sticks by it and actually begins to take her “craft” seriously.

Beyond Miley and Liam, there were lots of other interesting people at the premiere. There was Greg Kinnear and his shameface at being in a Miley movie, there was John Travolta and Kelly Preston (who is in the movie). Sidenote: Do you think Miley is being recruited for Xenu? I hope not. And of course, there were assorted members of the Cyrus family. Here’s Miley’s little sister Noah:

And The Mullet and Tish:

And Trace and Brandi Cyrus (ARRHHH!!!):

Is Noah Cyrus launching a lingerie line for kids?

fp_4457164_cyrus_miley_riv_013010

Before I get into the latest Noah Cyrus debacle, can I just say that Miley shouldn’t be holding her dog like that? That is one enormous puppy, and she should let him walk on a leash or something. But compared to all of the complaints I have against the Cyrus family, I guess carrying a big puppy by the stomach isn’t even the worst thing that’s happened this week.

So… I hope everyone remember Noah Cyrus, Miley Cyrus’s 10-year-old sister. Noah was the one who dressed up as a dominatrix-hooker for Halloween, and the one who liked to be filmed singing and “performing” inappropriate songs like Akon’s “Smack That” and Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok”. Basically, Billy Ray Cyrus needs someone to smack him and tell him to be a real father. The latest from Noah Cyrus, age 10, is a report that she and her friend Emily Grace are now the “faces” of a… wait for it… children’s lingerie line. The line is called Ohh! La, La! Coutoure. Here was one of the original stories, via Perez Hilton:

Miley Cyrus’ 9 year old sister Noah and her BFF Emily Grace are teaming up together to launch a children’s lingerie collection for Ohh! La, La! Couture.

We don’t know what’s scarier the actual clothing or the fact that someone’s parents sit back and let this happen.

The website describes The Emily Grace Collection as “trendy, sweet, yet edgy feel, is reminiscent of Emily’s true personality. She is collaborating with Ooh! La, La! Couture designers to create versatile styles that can be worn with sweet ballerina slippers, funky sneakers or paired with lace stockings and boots for more of a rock and roll look. Emily’s collection will appeal not just to little girls—the line also has an exclusive Teen Collection available to a size 14.”

On top of hawking slutty clothes, Emily hopes to promote and raise awareness for her foundation, “Lollipops and Rainbows”, which is basically a charity of charities.

Yeah, we don’t get it either. But good for her for wanting to change the world one provocative child at a time. That sets a great example.

[From Coco Perez]

Now, here’s the thing – I looked up the Ooh! La, La! Couture website, and it’s not really about lingerie. And yet… it’s still sketchy. They’re selling tutus, tank tops and leggings, all in very garish colors and designs. Like, zebra-print leggings. It still feels perverse, although it’s not even as bad as it could be. But I want to point out something else – this collection that I’m looking at - it’s not called the Emily Grace Collection. I’m not sure, but I don’t think that the new Emily Grace collection has been released yet, and when it is released, there is a chance it is just as bad as we’re thinking.

Meanwhile, here’s Miley, Noah and this Emily Grace girl promoting the new collection. Sigh… fishnets. For f-ck’s sake.

Miley Cyrus’ sister Noah, 10, performs Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok”
LIONSGATE PREMIERES THE SPY NEXT DOOR

The heads up from this came from Lainey Gossip - Miley Cyrus’s ten-year-old Noah Cyrus “performing” another completely inappropriate song – Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok”. At least it’s not Akon’s “Smack That” and at least Noah’s not smacking her own butt and popping her hip as she performs every lyric to the camera. So… it’s not as bad as before. But there are still some hip-pops in this video, as well as some “acting” for the camera that is just… beyond appropriate. She just turned ten years old, by the way. Just last week. Perhaps this was her birthday present from her parents? The opportunity to perform for the camera yet again? Actually, I doubt it. My guess is that her tenth-birthday present from Billy Ray was some shiny new hooker-wear boots, or perhaps a jaunty new dominatrix “costume”.

I have no idea who the guy is, by the way. It’s not Noah and Miley’s big (half) brother Trace, because I would recognize that Joey Ramone looking boy anywhere. Oh, maybe it’s their brother Braison, who is 15 years old and looks about right for this. I had no idea there was a brother named Braison, and now I’m wondering how they came up with that name. It sounds like “You wanna Brais’on ribs before we git ’em on the grill?” Anyway…

If the kid is Noah’s brother, maybe it’s not terribly inappropriate…? It looks like this was something they rehearsed for a while, and God knows her brother is probably looking for things to keep this little girl occupied while he’s stuck babysitting. This family…

Miley’s sister Noah Cyrus, 9, performs Akon’s “Smack That”

I don’t even know where to f-cking start with this video. It’s so… gross, disgusting, tragic, sad, dry-heave-y, and insane, I don’t even have the words. Here’s the background: after one of Miley Cyrus’s concerts, she and her family and entourage are backstage and someone is shooting footage of everyone. Miley’s 9-year-old sister Noah, perhaps sensing that a camera around, decides to parade herself around, performing Akon’s “Smack That” (sample lyrics: “Smack that, all on the floor. Smack that, give me some more. Smack that, ’til you get sore. Smack that, oh ooh”) while smacking her own hip and butt, shaking her hips, pouting her lips and tossing her hair, all while focused on performing for the camera.

It’s obviously a performance she has practiced many, many times before. Oh, and Us Weekly says Miley is “encouraging” Noah to perform on the video, but I can’t make that part out. It’s obvious someone is trying to pull Noah away at the beginning, and then whoever it is just lets her do her thing. Lainey Gossip sort of went off on this sh-t this morning, but I think the video kind of speaks for itself.

I will say this though – I wouldn’t mind if Billy Ray Cyrus got some serious sh-t for this. Miley too, but ultimately, Miley’s not Noah’s parent. This “performance” is only the latest chapter in what will likely be another decade of Noah’s continuing inappropriateness. And, this comes less than two months after Noah “dressed up” as a dominatrix-prostitute for Halloween. This is what comes from having a mullet, I swear to God. Billy Ray needs to have his goddamn head examined. The mother too.

Nine year-old Noah Cyrus’ inappropriate Halloween costume

fp_3865973_rij_dream_halloween_102409
A couple of years ago, I wrote a post about trampy Halloween costumes for tweens, which included such adult themed-outfits as sexy belly-baring pirate, sexy inmate, and sexy French maid. Those costumes are still around, and young girls are of course still dressing inappropriately in general and for Halloween. Mom Logic covered this recently and included some guidelines on how to tell your daughter that her costume was too adult. Suggestions include asking your daughter why she wants to dress like that, and making sure you’re a decent role model by not dressing too sexy yourself.

Nine year-old Noah Cyrus showed up at a Halloween event over the weekend wearing an outfit with knee high boots that can only be described as some kind of “sexy witch” without the hat. The tight dress laced up along the side and is so short that I only hope she was wearing shorts underneath.

The last time we covered Noah we were asking if she was too young to have unsupervised webcam chats through an add-on service for Twitter, where she has a public account with 150,000 followers. Noah had also posted some suggestive kissy-face photos on Twitter, and many of you said that she was just mimicking her sister. Noah’s famous sister Miley deleted her Twitter account shortly after that, and Noah hasn’t made a tweet since. It’s clear that Noah looks up to Miley, 16, and follows her lead.

What do you think – is this outfit too adult for a nine-year-old or are we making a big deal out of something that’s common for little girls – acting and dressing like their moms and older sisters? Noah was seen with an even younger-looking friend, her cousin Emily Grace Reaves from Hannah Montana, in a cute devilish angel outfit that was also a little too grown-up. (Emily is eight according to one fan site, but I couldn’t verify that.) I don’t have a daughter, so I’m not sure how I would handle this. Part of me screams that there’s no way I would let my daughter out of the house like this, but on the other hand I know that you have to pick your battles with kids. Somehow I don’t think Noah’s parents even realize that this is an issue.

Thanks to Miriam for the tip and D-Listed for covering this first. Photo credit: Fame Pictures and WENN.com

Nine year-old Noah Cyrus’ Twitpics – cute or inappropriate?

noahcyrus2Nine year-old Noah Cyrus has a Twitter account through which she’s sending messages to her friends and family and posting cute photos. She has nearly 150,000 followers. Noah is the younger sister of 16 year-old superstar Miley Cyrus. We’ve seen plenty of leaked photos of Miley in suggestive poses, in wet t-shirts, and making racist gestures. There are also of course those controversial Vanity Fair photos of her posing in only a sheet. Noah’s pictures are much more innocent, but they seem to be headed in a direction that could make some people uncomfortable. She’s seen wearing makeup, doing the “duck face” kissy pose, and looking a little too mature for a kid who isn’t even ten yet. They’re growing up early these days, though.

In one tweet, Noah posts a picture of herself with Frankie Jonas, the youngest Jonas brother at nine, and writes “me and my boyy. i love you frankie! forever and always.” Frankie and Noah are the lead voices in the American dubbed version of the Japanese animated movie Ponyo, which was out this summer.

On one hand these tweets are pretty cute and innocent. Noah is just nine years old! On the other hand, I know I wouldn’t want my nine year-old kid posting photos and text messages on an publicly accessible site. We even protect our Flickr and Picasa photos. Noah also has live webcam chats with friends through UStream, and I know plenty of parents that would be crying foul over that.

In August, Noah caused some controversy by posing with friends in front of a stripper pole at a party before the Teen Choice Awards. She probably didn’t know any better – again she’s nine!

So have things changed so much that it’s really not a big deal that a nine year old is using Twitter and having open webcam chats? Should Noah’s family try to limit her online activities? I know I wouldn’t let my kid put so much personal information online, but our family isn’t famous.

Thanks to Gossip Rocks for posting these pictures and for the story lead.
