Olivia Wilde wants to be the next Megan Fox so badly

cockburn3

Olivia Cockburn (Wilde) is the next big thing. She’s got a bunch movies either already out or coming out soon. She’s on hiatus from House, hoping to get this film career started and take over the role of “Megan Fox-esque hot girl who says dumb crap”. Except no one says dumb crap like Megan – and Olivia is trying to impress us with how smart she is, a sure-fire way to prove the opposite. Anyway, she’s in the new issue of Details Magazine, and I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is that this is the first interview I’ve read where she doesn’t mention that she’s a princess while also mentioning that she “rarely” talks about how she’s a princess. The bad news is that for the photo shoot, she’s either wearing hot pants or flashing her nipples. I mean… if it was Salma Hayek, I would want to look, over and over. But Olivia… I don’t know, she’s so completely unsexy to me. Anyway, those NSFW images are at the bottom, in the thumbnails. Here’s the full Details piece:

“Sit here,” Olivia Wilde says, patting the seat next to her. We’re at a hip café she’s chosen near her Venice, California, home and she’s already claimed her favorite table. She’s wearing tight jeans, a disconcertingly sheer white top, and a hat. Not just any hat—an ugly, straw, Kid Rock-looking fedora. It’s a classic fashion power play , the kind of thing beautiful women do because they can.

Wilde, 26, who plays the terminally ill Dr. Remy “Thirteen” Hadley on House, is having a breakout year on the big screen, with roles in the Paul Haggis-directed crime thriller The Next Three Days and the hotly anticipated CGI spectacle Tron: Legacy. In the 1982 original, Jeff Bridges gets sucked inside a computer and engages in a cheesy, futuristic Ultimate Frisbee-meets-Rollerball battle. In this December’s reboot, Bridges returns (sporting a Dude-like beard), only this time there are way cooler special effects, a killer Daft Punk soundtrack, and a secret weapon: Wilde as the cybervixen guide Quorra.

The role required that she squeeze into a skintight rubber suit woven out of neoprene and something called electroluminescent lamps. “It was so beautiful that I didn’t need to play the character sexy,” she says. The first time she laid eyes on the get-up, however, she freaked: “I saw the boobs on the suit and I said, ‘Oh, hell no. I’m doing kicks and backflips in this thing?’ ” She describes Quorra as a kind of warrior ninja: “We modeled the character on Joan of Arc but with the hair of Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. But still a total badass.”

Wilde, who was born in New York City and raised in Washington, D.C., has never been precious about her profession. “I loved the Police Academy movies and Saturday Night Live,” she says. “I was totally into slapstick humor.” When she was 10, her parents took her to a taping of SNL. “I went to the after-party and met Chris Farley,” she recalls. “All the cast members were drinking and celebrating, and Chris came up and challenged me to a brownie-eating contest.” (He won. Wasn’t close.) Her first big breaks were both, strangely, porn-themed—Jerry Bruckheimer’s short-lived 2003 TV series Skin and the 2004 Elisha Cuthbert comedy The Girl Next Door. And then there was a stint on The O.C., playing a bisexual teen who famously kissed Mischa Barton’s character.

None of which is to suggest that Wilde isn’t serious-minded. She works with the ACLU and the nonprofit Artists for Peace and Justice, and, along with fellow actress Maria Bello, she’s producing a documentary about the construction of a movie theater in a refugee camp in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. It was her work as a board member for the ACLU that inspired artist Shepard Fairey, the man behind the iconic Obama “Hope” poster, to create an image of Wilde draped in an American flag, striking a Lady Liberty pose. “I was honored to do it,” she says, downplaying her initiation into an elite fraternity that includes the president and André the Giant. “It’s unbelievable,” she concedes, “the amount of power people in Hollywood have. I feel like I’m in a really good place.”

[From Details]

One thing I’ll give her, she does put her time and money where her mouth is, and I admire her activism work. Other than that, meh. She’s a crappy actress and all she has to offer are making out with chicks on camera and… that’s it, apparently.

Olivia Wilde talks about being a princess in Playboy: “I never call myself a princess”

wenn3090467

Olivia Wilde is gearing up to start promotion on Tron, where she is the female lead. I don’t really know how to describe her role – and I don’t really care, either. Whatever. Anyway, Olivia scored herself a Playboy interview, and Blast Magazine has some excerpts. Hey, did you know that OLIVIA IS A PRINCESS?!?!? She only talks about it in every single interview she’s ever done. Sorry, I mean Olivia talks about how BEING A PRINCESS isn’t that big of a deal and she doesn’t know why people bring it up so much and did she mention that SHE’S A PRINCESS?? Yeah. Otherwise, the interview is slightly boring.

“The great thing about doing movies with lots of stunts is that it feels as if I’m having the athletic experience I never had in high school,” says Olivia Wilde when asked about filming action scenes for her upcoming film “TRON: Legacy” in Playboy’s December 20Q. The brunette beauty goes on to explain, “I was a theater nerd, and I always envied my friends on the field hockey and soccer teams. They had a relationship with their coach that was so supportive…working with these movie stunt teams, I’m finally able to experience that. You can show up weak and scrawny for a movie, with 80 percent body fat, and they’ll say, ‘You can do these stunts!’ For actors who weren’t athletes in high school that’s an amazing feeling.”

Wilde, oft deemed one of the sexiest women in Hollywood, sat down with Playboy Contributor Eric Spitznagel to discuss her upcoming movies — “TRON: Legacy,” which opens on December 17, and “Cowboys & Aliens,” which comes out in July 2011; being married to an Italian prince; her opinion of blondes; Jeff Bridges; Hillary Clinton; and Megan Fox. Following are selected quotes from the interview:

On the skintight suit she wears in TRON: Legacy: “My costume is actually the toughest, most bada*s thing I’ve ever seen…It would be difficult to be a stripper in that suit because it’s almost impossible to get it off. It would be a three-hour striptease and you’d need at least five assistants onstage with you.”

On her TRON: Legacy co-star Jeff Bridges: “The thing about Jeff is, in a lot of ways he really is the Dude [from The Big Lebowski]. He has an inner peace I tried to learn from and this easy-going, come-what-may, go-with-the-flow attitude that’s such a joy to be around. Nothing really fazes him. With Jeff it’s all going to be okay.”

On Megan Fox’s declaration that Olivia is so sexy it makes her “want to strangle a mountain ox”: “I thought it was a witty, clever choice of words. There are a lot more boring ways to compliment someone, and it’s rare when actors in this business compliment each other…Shortly after Megan said that, a writer on House who’s also one of my best friends drew a mountain ox on my dressing room mirror and underneath it wrote SAVE ME, OLIVIA! PLEASE MAKE OUT WITH MEGAN!”

On how she’s made her onscreen lesbian kisses believable: “Acting is acting. It’s not as if I play myself most of the time and kissing a woman is one time I depart from that. It’s fun to play things that are different from you.”

On her wedding, which took place on a school bus: “The bus was the only place we could be completely alone. The wedding was a secret, and we wanted to do it someplace where we could hide with our best friends. It was all about the intimacy of the promise we were making. When I go to weddings it’s usually all about the party and the place settings and the dress and the flower arrangements. Our wedding wasn’t about any of that. I mean, come on, we got engaged at Burning Man. We were hippies. We lived on that bus for months.”

On being an Italian princess through marriage: “I never call myself [a princess]. I occasionally get mail that says ‘Principessa.’ It’s all part of being this lucky person who has been welcomed into an interesting family with a long history…How many people get to say ‘This castle has been in our family since the 1400s’?”

On her parents, both of whom are journalists who travel to war-torn countries: “They still travel to some amazing places. In fact, my mom’s getting ready to go to Yemen for 60 Minutes. It’s actually kind of adorable; they try to pretend my job is more interesting than theirs. We’ll have conversations and they’ll act as though fighting fake aliens in a movie is more exciting than my mom going to Yemen.”

On changing her last name from Cockburn to Wilde when she was a teenager: “I always thought having a pen name was so romantic. I honestly didn’t foresee that people would look at it as a sexy name, like ‘She’s wiiiild!’ Anytime a story is written about me, the title is usually some pun on my last name – ‘Born to Be Wilde’ or ‘Take a Walk on the Wilde Side.’ (laughs) I don’t mind it; it’s just not something I ever considered when I picked the name.”

On whether or not blondes have more fun: “No, that’s bullsh*t. It’s not true at all. But I have to give credit to blondes. Having been raised by one and being one, it’s great to surprise people when they have low expectations. Often stupid people expect nothing from a blonde, and then the blonde can shock them by being Hillary Clinton. I’m pretty sure she has fun. I mean, she gets to travel everywhere, eat amazing food in all these different countries – you know she’s having a great time. And she probably enjoys being underestimated just so she can blow people away.”

On winning a pancake-eating contest in Australia by eating 33 pancakes: “I entered the contest only because they said a woman could never win, and that’s a surefire way to get me to do something. I’ve always had a huge appetite and don’t get full easily, so I guess I was meant to be a competitive eater, the way some people are born to be long-distance runners. But I’d never do it again.”

On her dream car: “I think I own it – a 1958 Chevy Biscayne. It’s cool because I grew up wanting the 1954 Bel Air, but that car is almost too perfect. There’s something about the Biscayne that’s a little funkier…The great thing about driving one of these cars is that it makes other drivers happy. People smile at you and let you cut in. It’s as if they’re grateful you’re still driving it. But the cars are not exactly discreet. My life has changed so that I try to blend in more…Now the last thing I want to do is drive down the street and call attention to myself. That’s what driving my Biscayne does.”

[From Playboy via Blast Magazine]

Olivia has those same qualities that annoy me about people like Jessica Biel, Megan Fox and Jessica Alba, and even Katherine Heigl. Basically, I get the impression that Olivia thinks she’s God’s gift, and while having a healthy ego is fine and dandy, it helps if you’ve proven yourself and your talents in some substantial way. Olivia hasn’t, in my opinion (neither have Alba, Biel, Fox or Heigl, although Heigl has more “wins” than anyone else). Olivia comes across as mostly hype, and like she believes her own hype. It’s not enough to make he dislike her, but she does annoy me significantly. Is she pretty? Sure. But is she more than just a chick on House, famous for making out with chicks?

Fergie, Gisele & Olivia Wilde are most requested bodies, say plastic surgeons

fp_4419021_ang_nrj_musicawards_012410

As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t really care if someone gets a little plastic surgery here or there. Sometimes the gene pool comes up with some weird combinations, and I get that everyday people and celebrities might need or want the occasional nip or tuck. The thing that bothers me about celebrities (and real people) is when they lie about it, especially when they’ve come back from a three month “vacation” with an entirely new face.

But I digress. I’ve always thought about getting my nose done – my nose isn’t hideous or anything, and I know it has “character” (and a bump that annoys me), but I’ve always wondered if I should just go in for, at the very least, a consult. If I had to choose a celebrity nose that I would just love to have, it would probably be Isabella Rossellini’s or Catherine Zeta-Jones’s (although it’s rumored Catherine does not have her original nose – or her original birth date – either). You know who wouldn’t be on my list for anything? Fergie. It’s not that Fergie is unappealing – I’ve actually been finding her really cute lately – but I never look at her and think “I want what she has.” Apparently, I’m alone though. Fergie has one of the most requested bodies, claims the latest annual list compiled by plastic surgeons. What the hell?

Jennifer Aniston may have a figure that most would consider close to perfect, but apparently it wasn’t enough to help her keep her title as Hollywood’s most desired body. While the “Bounty Hunter” star topped the list of the annual “Famed Hottest Looks,” compiled by Beverly Hills plastic surgeons Richard W. Fleming, M.D. and Toby G. Mayer, M.D., it seems Aniston failed to crack the top three this year.

So whose body does the majority of surgery seekers want more?

Black Eyed Peas songstress Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson apparently has the most wanted figure, followed by Gisele Bundchen and Olivia Wilde.

“Fergie’s body is proportional – that’s really the key,” Dr. Fleming told Tarts. “ Women like Jennifer Aniston and Eva Longoria have topped the “best body” list in the past. They’re not as curvy as Fergie is, but they’re all proportional.”

Meanwhile, Aniston’s ex-husband Brad Pitt’s and partner Angelina Jolie topped the list for the most-requested lips.

“The two of them are the whole package – they’re considered to be gorgeous, very talented entertainers and they do a tremendous amount of good will, all of which makes them appealing,” Fleming said. “But the only way you can get Jolie’s lips is through the gene pool. If somebody comes in with small lips requesting perfect Angelina lips, we can’t duplicate that; they would end up looking like Melanie Griffith.”

Angie’s full-bodied lips were followed by Jessica Alba and Katherine Heigl. Pitt, meanwhile, was followed by David Duchovny and Will Smith.

And when it comes to hot Hollywood hair “Glee” starlet Lea Michele, Taylor Swift and Alicia Keys topped the list.

But despite the ever-changing celebrity landscape and the constant shift in trends, Fleming said that in his thirty-plus years of making these seemingly unattainable standards a reality for his patients, nothing really changes.

“It amazes me that people’s concepts of beauty hasn’t changed that much over the years; what people are requesting in terms of beauty has been pretty consistent with us. Our patients want to look natural and proportional,” Fleming added. “It surprises me that despite the exaggerated appearances like Joan Rivers and Michael Jackson, what people really desire is to look natural and not overdone. “

[From Fox News]

I could see wanting Gisele’s body. But Olivia Wilde? Seriously? Genetically, I think God made her a beanpole, which is fine, but I really think Olivia has some kind of eating disorder. She did that mostly-naked photo shoot in GQ last year, and she looked very underweight. I guess I just don’t get these women going into plastic surgeons’ offices with photos of Fergie or Olivia when women could be holding up photos of Halle Berry or Blake Lively – because, seriously, those women have the perfect bodies, in my opinion.

Olivia Wilde in GQ: bikinis, bony ribcages & “dangerous” fame

oliviawilde5
Is it any secret that I don’t care for Olivia Wilde? I just don’t get it. I don’t get her appeal, I don’t understand why men find her sexy, I can’t comprehend how people have strong feelings about her in any way. I look at someone like, say, Megan Fox, and I don’t understand why some people (fanboys) don’t get a grip and realize she’s a crass, arrogant, snotty, ignorant bigot, but even I understand why some men/boys find her hot. Megan’s got that cheap, trashy look that goes a long way with men with no attention spans. But Olivia? She’s utterly unremarkable. But she’s being pegged as the next big thing, The New Hot Girl. Earlier this year she was named Maxim’s Hottest, Sexist WhatsIt, and now we have the nearly-naked GQ cover shoot to solidify it. Damn, this girl must have a great publicist.

GQ’s extensive (some would say exhaustive) slideshow is totally sketchy. At one point, Olivia is naked on a sea grass rug, and all I can think about is how uncomfortable her lady parts must have been. I’ve called her “anorexic” before, and while I don’t know if that’s true or if she’s just naturally really, really thin, there are several pictures where it seems like all you can see is bony ribcage.

Her interview is pretty boring too. I guess they thought, “Hey, with all of these pictures of Olivia in a bikini (or less), who’ll be reading the damn thing?” The piece is written by one of Olivia’s fan boys who writes lines like (I kid you not): “Wilde, of course, is not the first young actress to feel awkward in the face of babedom.” Suck. It. Here are some other musings, from the complete GQ interview:

On being named Maxim‘s Sexiest Woman: “The day they announced it, I hid in my bathtub with a big glass of wine…Anytime anyone describes you with a superlative, people are going to disagree. And I didn’t want to have to deal with those people.”

On meeting Robert Pattinson, and fame in general: “I did not envy him. I think it’s the frog-in-boiling-water concept…Robert Pattinson jumped in boiling water and has stayed in it, and hopefully will survive. Whereas I entered the water when it was cold, and it’s been slowly heating up—a slooooow boil. Maybe I won’t realize when it’s getting dangerous.”

On being told to downplay her 6-year marriage to an Italian aristocrat: “There were times when people thought it would really hurt me. People said I shouldn’t be married, or lie about being married, or I should be married to a movie star or rock star.”

On growing up in Washington, D.C. with her journalist parents: “I appreciated the constant excitement, the murmur of all these engaged conversations. Christopher Hitchens used to babysit me when I was young.”

On her character Thirteen on House: “I sort of resent people pigeonholing Thirteen as the sexy gay doctor.”

[From GQ]

I did learn one interesting thing after reading that epic bore-fest. Olivia’s real last name isn’t Wilde… she adopted Wilde as a stage name, taking it from the famous Irish writer Oscar Wilde. Olivia’s real last name is… wait for it… Cockburn. What will the fanboys make of that one? I kind of like it. I think she would still be famous if she was Olivia Cockburn. It’s not like it’s Olivia Dickslayer or something.

The one other noteworthy thing, I suppose, is that Olivia wears her liberalism on her sleeve. She actively campaigned for Obama, going door to door and working in phone banks in Iowa, Louisiana and New Hampshire. She even says that Candidate Obama called her once, to personally thank her for her work. Their conversation was brief, but after Olivia hung up she says, “I was just squealing and squawking, trying to replay the whole thing.” Except she didn’t really hang up – Obama was still on the line, laughing: “It was awful—horrifying. But apparently he was flattered.” Aw… okay, that was sort of a cute story. But I still don’t care for this chick.

Olivia Wilde says she’ll make out with Megan Fox

oliviawilde1
Olivia Wilde was just voted Maxim magazine’s hottest, sexiest woman, beating out a diverse field of ladies that included everyone from Megan Fox (#2) to Michelle Obama (#93). While we’ll have to wait until hell freezes over to hear what the First Lady thinks about Olivia Wilde, Megan Fox said last year that Olivia is “so sexy, she makes me want to strangle a mountain ox.” Ah, yes. Megan Fox with another brilliant quote. That one almost beats Megan’s “I resent having to prove that I’m not a retard.”

Olivia was more than polite about Megan Fox and everything else when she sat down for an interview with GQ magazine (story via Fox News). Olivia tells of her elopement with an Italian prince at the age of eighteen, and how dedicated she is to working with causes like gay rights advocacy and Doctors Without Borders:

Olivia Wilde is not only one of television’s hottest break-out stars, but she is also the woman Megan Fox has described as “so sexy, she makes me want to strangle a mountain ox.”

While it has to be quite an honor, Wilde, 25, says she is a little skeptical of the recent girl-crush fad, but is passionate about animal rights and willing to do what it takes to keep them safe.

In the June 2009 issue of GQ magazine, on newsstands May 26, she jokes, “of course, anything I can do to save the mountain ox, I’m happy to do,” in response to the suggestion she make out with Fox to save the poor little ox.

But being sexy and crusading for animal rights isn’t all this rising star can do – she has also worked on presidential campaigns, has been a public advocate for increasing international aid and gay rights and she has raised money for Doctors Without Borders.

To top all that off, she is also a real-life princess. Really, we’re serious. She tells GQ at the age of 18, she eloped with an Italian prince.

It wasn’t enough to be rich, beautiful and sexy. Had to go and be a princess too.

[From Fox News]

I don’t really get anything about Olivia Wilde’s sexiness, but live and let live. She’s most likely coming for another season of House, so all of us haters will just have to get used to seeing her. Even if we think Dr. Foreman (Omar Epps) deserves much better. And is it just me, or is Olivia Wilde sort of giving off a Natascha McElhone vibe? Granted, Natascha is the original. It’s like Olivia Wilde is to Natascha McElhone as Megan Fox is to Angelina Jolie. They have similar faces, and they could definitely play sisters in some drama, but I’ll always prefer the original.

Olivia Wilde is Maxim’s #1 hottest woman

brandnewspics-454

Maxim finally released it’s list of the Hottest, Sexiest whatever. It’s a really depressing list. Usually, I can at least defend some of the top women by saying “at least they have curves” or “at least they’re not anorexic bitches”. Not so much this year. This year’s number one hottest, sexiest whatever is the incomparable… Olivia Wilde. Blech. She’s plays the character Seven on House, and she blows. She’s a bad actress, and she’s not even that pretty (in my opinion). CB chimed in: “Plus her hair is always so limp and crappy looking. That’s what happens when you starve yourself!”

The top five went down like this, in descending order: Olivia Wilde, Megan Fox, Bar Refaeli, Malin Akerman, Mila Kunis. If you were like me, you muttered “Malin whatsit?” Don’t feel bad, I looked her up. Malin Akerman is a Swedish-Canadian model-turned-actress who is probably best known for her recent turn as Silk Spectre II in this spring’s Watchmen. And what the f*ck is Mila Kunis doing in the top five? That girl from That 70s Show? Is this a joke?

Maxim is celebrating the 10th anniversary of what has come to be known as the “it list” of Hollywood heat.

Models, athletes, hard-working moms, reality show stars and a First Lady are all included in Maxim’s 2009 Hot 100.

And after sifting through thousands and thousands of photographs (tough work, but someone’s gotta do it) the editors of Maxim have chosen “House” star Olivia Wilde as this year’s big winner.

“Olivia Wilde has been the sexiest woman on television since she heated up ‘The OC’ five years ago,” said Maxim editor Joe Levy. “She’s smart, she’s beautiful, and she has dual citizenship in the US and Ireland — what more can a man ask for?”

[From Fox News]

I actually just read something interesting about Olivia Wilde a few weeks ago, I think it was in W Magazine. She married an Italian named Tao Ruspoli, who is some kind of big deal in Italy, he‘s like the son of a prince, which would make him a prince, except Italians don‘t give a crap about their royalty anymore. I hate to say it, but I’d almost rather see Megan Fox top the list rather than Olivia. That’s how disappointed I am.

House’s cute couple, Jesse & Jennifer, have moved on IRL (mild spoilers)

Wicked hot Jesse Spencer plays Dr. Robert Chase on Fox’s hit show House. He’s got an adorable Aussie accent and floppy blonde hair. His acting isn’t going to win any awards, but he’s so very pretty to watch.

On the show, he hooked up with another of Dr. House’s interns, Dr. Allison Cameron.

In real life, he hooked up with the actress who plays Dr. Cameron, Jennifer Morrison. They were engaged, but instead broke up in 2007.

On the show, their on-screen relationship is apparently still going on, but it’s hard to tell because both characters are way way way on the backburner ever since the show brought in new doctors for House to abuse. None of the new characters is as hot as Jesse.

Back in real life, Jesse has had the requisite gay rumors in the past, but now has a new girlfriend he was swooning over at the recent Emmy awards. Her name is Louise Griffiths. They were introduced by mutual friends two months ago, according to Star.

The 29-year-old Aussie “seemed very happy” when he escorted Louise Griffiths to the Entertainment Tonight Emmy party on Sept. 21, a source tells Star. “He was holding her hand and introducing her to everyone he knew. They acted like boyfriend and girlfriend.”

[From Star, print edition, October 13, 2008]

If he introduced Louise to everyone he knew, I wonder if that included his recent ex Jennifer, who also at the Emmys?

By-the-by, Jennifer is rumored to be dating Amaury Nolasco of Prison Break.

Jesse’s Dr. Chase had some good plotlines early in the show, but now he’s been regulated to occasional quips while doing surgery. They should give him more to do or just write him off so he can go be pretty on a movie screen.

According to IMDB, British actress Louise has appeared in a film called The Devil’s Chair and a British reality show called Fame Academy, which she didn’t win. She’s also listed in the cast of All’s Faire in Love, about competing Renaissance fairs.

Like Jesse, she was also previously engaged, to race car driver Jensen Button, but Button called off the wedding.

—————–Possible Spoilers for House—————–
Another of House’s original dethroned interns, Dr. Foreman, played by Omar Epps, will be getting more substantial screen time, according to Michael Ausiello in the October 10 issue of Entertainment Weekly.

EW reports Foreman and Thirteen, played by Olivia Wilde, “are going to be spending a serious amount of time together,” according to executive producer Katie Jacobs. Will Foreman be able to cure Thirteen’s Huntington’s disease?

All photos are from 9/21/08 at the Primetime Emmy Awards. Jesse Spencer and Louise Griffiths are shown in the header. Jennifer Morrison is in the inset, and Omar Epps is shown with his wife, Keisha Spivey. They have two children, K’marie, 4, and Amir, 10 months. Olivia Wilde is below. Credit: PRPhotos
