Miranda Kerr hangs out with my favorite baby, Flynn: how cute are they?

fp_8127039_bloom_orlando_ini_07_13

As you may remember, Flynn Kerr-Bloom is my current favorite celebrity baby. He just has such a great face, and Flynn is HUGE. He was born big and he continues to be a big, lovely, chubby baby. I find that I like Flynn so much, my affection for ricochets off of him and affects my feelings for Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom too. I never used to care about Orly and Miranda at all, but now I find myself liking them enormously. Babies do strange things to people. Anyway, here are some photos of Miranda and Flynn from this weekend in NYC. Flynn in a little ski hat! Adorable. He has such a great face. Miranda’s little legs look too skinny to me, but maybe it’s just an optical illusion because Flynn is so giant. Miranda recently spoke to Us Weekly about baby’s first Christmas and what Orly gave her as a gift one time:

Miranda Kerr hit the jackpot with two great guys: hubby Orlando Bloom and their 10-month-old son Flynn.

“[Flynn's] crawling now. He has eight teeth!” she told Us Weekly on Monday at her Halloween party at Catch in NYC.

So has teething turned Flynn cranky? “No, he’s a very happy boy!” Kerr, 28, gushed. “[I'm] very lucky.”

“[He likes] when I sing to him,” she told Us, then sang, “‘Be-bop-a-lula, he’s my baby!’ He likes that.”

The first-time mom says Flynn’s first holiday season is going to be “so exciting.”

Her favorite part of Christmastime? “I love putting little things in the stockings!” she said. “[Also] I love to cook… I cook everything! I love cooking roasts, like roast chicken and vegetables especially over the holidays.”

When it comes to gift-giving, the supermodel and her hubby, 34, are into quality over quantity. “One of the most thoughtful things [was] when Orlando and I had written all these love letters to each other. Then one year, he had them framed for me, like all the little notes!” she said. “It was very cute.”

And although Kerr’s career is hotter than ever, her main focus is family life with Bloom, who she married in 2010, and baby Flynn.

“My priority is to be with [Flynn],” she told Sydney’s Herald Sun last month. “So I am very selective with [the jobs] I do.”

[From Us Weekly]

Orly framed their love letters. Damn, Orly. He really flat-out adores Miranda, doesn’t he? Like, he’s not even one of those guys who tries to act all cool and like, “My lady is special, but I’m badass so I’ll act like I’m over it.” Orly loves Miranda so much, he’s just a flat-out dork with her. They’re super-cute with each other. It’s sweet.

Kate Bosworth says she “had actual vertigo” after Orlando Bloom breakup

10521PCN_Bloom
Kate and Orlando in July, 2006

Whenever I get vertigo it means I need to eat something, but I have blood sugar issues. I have to make sure to eat before I work out and bring snacks with me to the gym. That couldn’t be Kate Bosworth’s problem because she’s talking about the actual heartbreak she felt when Orlando Bloom broke up with her. She’s not getting confused about the fact that she forgot to eat for a few months, is she? Kate has a new interview with the London Times’ Sunday Style section in which she opens up about her split with Orly back in 2006. I guess she’s promoting Straw Dogs, which is out in the UK on November 4th. You can’t get online access to the Times Sunday Style unless you pay for a subscription, so I can’t read the full article because I’m cheap that way. It’s unclear to me why Bos brought up her five year old breakup and why she went on about it, unless she just wanted us to talk about her. Mission accomplished.

Breaking up with Orlando Bloom was really, really hard to do for Kate Bosworth.

After about four on-and-off years together, the Straw Dogs actress, 28, and the Hobbit star, 34, called it quits in 2006.

Bosworth (who broke up with Alexander Skarsgard earlier this year) is now dating director Michael Polish, and Bloom is happily married to model Miranda Kerr, with whom he has one son, Flynn, 10 months.

But Bosworth suffered mightily — even physically — in the aftermath of that 2006 breakup. “Oh, I definitely know the feeling of pain, that’s for sure,” she told England’s Sunday Times Style of the split.

“You know when you put all your chips into something, then it disappears?” she said of her relationship with the hunky Australian star. “[The break-up] sent me into such pain, I think I had actual vertigo. I was like, ‘Is this my new reality? Will anything be normal again?’”

“Then one day,” the Superman Returns beauty mused, “You wake up and you think, OK, I’ll never be the same, but I’ll survive and I’ll grow from it.”

Indeed, all seemed well between the exes during an unexpected reunion in L.A.’s Brentwood neighborhood in early July of this year. With Bloom astride his Ducati motorcycle, the former loves even shared a hug. “They looked cordial,” an observer told Us Weekly. “They were genuinely smiling to one another like friends, but didn’t linger very long.”

[From US Weekly]

That “unexpected reunion” between Kate and Orly just happened to be captured by the paparazzi, so I would venture that it was staged by Kate like so many of her other outings. So after she “dumped” Alex Skarsgard (her side of the story, and I doubt it’s true, he’s just too classy to put his version out) she promptly got another boyfriend and made sure that there were photos taken of the two of them out together. Look Alex and Orly, I’m fine!

Other outlets have more details of Kate’s interview. She denies that she diets and just calls herself “naturally slim.”

“Oh, I swear it’s stress. I wish I could stop it, it’s like a vibration you live in with your mind constantly, constantly going. [Being thin] is nothing to do with not eating. I’m like a whippet, I promise you,” she insisted in an in interview with the Sunday Times Style magazine.

Kate insists her diet is healthy. The blonde beauty’s petite figure is all natural, which she knows might annoy some women.

“Ask any of my boyfriends about my diet and they would tell you,” she added. “But I hate this, I can’t win in this situation, can I? I mean, when people hear that, they just want to go ‘Shut the f**k up,’ right?”

[From London Times]

Well at least she knows what people say about her. I get the “naturally slim” arguments, I have friends like that. When they’re stressed they don’t eat and overall they always eat smaller portions than I do. It doesn’t seem deliberate the way they do it, (like it is when I diet) but it’s the result of their habits and it’s not all due to genetics. I get that some people have higher metabolisms, but if you eat a lot of junk you’ll gain weight. It’s not just “natural” to be really thin, in my opinion, it’s a result of your habits.

Getting back to Kate’s breakup with Orlando Bloom, again why the hell is she still talking about it? Was she trying to say that she could relate to pain because she remembered how awful it was when they broke up? The dude is also famous, he has a famous wife and they have an adorable baby now. Kate should have come up with some other personal story to relate or just given a vague response to that question. It just seems in bad taste to bring up Orly now. I picture him rolling his eyes at this story and then giving his hot wife a wink.

Milla Jovovich in thigh-baring Salvatore Ferragamo: gorgeous or too much?

wenn3543728

Milla Jovovich received a lot of girlcrush love in the comment section yesterday, so let’s continue the trend by discussing her look at the world premiere of The Three Musketeers in London last night. Milla attended with her husband, Paul WS Anderson, who directed the film and looked on adoringly as she killed it in a thigh-baring Salvatore Ferragamo gown and Brian Atwood “Wagner” pumps. With that dress and those accessories, she’s positively gleaming but stops just short of going too far.

wenn5732858

Milla can work just about any dress, but she really brought the glamour this time, didn’t she? Although I must admit that I’m not crazy about the hot pinkish shade of lipstick she chose. Otherwise, she looks fantastic.

wenn3543726

Conspicuously missing from the premiere was one Christoph Waltz, but that might be for the same reason that he missed this week’s Carnage premiere at the New York Film Festival; that is, he suffered a very painful injury (a dislocated pelvis) when he fell off a horse while training for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained.

Luckily, we’ve still got the likes of Orlando Bloom to ogle. I have to say that I do like him more since he and Miranda Kerr got married — he seems a lot more satisfied and relaxed, both in candid shots and on the red carpet. Obviously, he realizes that he’s one lucky and happy bloke.

wenn3543729

wenn3543730

Also in attendance was a very bearded Matthew Macfadyen with his wife, Keeley Hawes, who wore a sleek orange-red number but (oddly) paired it with some rose-printed pumps. She reminds me so much of Sadie Frost — anyone else see it too?

Miranda Kerr: Orlando wanted the epidural during Flynn’s birth

fp_7603827_kerr_miranda_fp5_00_12

Here are some new photos of Miranda Kerr and her adorable baby Flynn in LA over the weekend. For my money, I tend to think Flynn is one of the cutest of all of the celebrity babies. I know it’s not a competition and all babies are beautiful, etc, but Flynn is a little star to me – he just looks so happy and connected to his mom, and he seems like such a docile, easy-going, chubby little guy. I love him!

Anyway, Miranda did a new interview (video at the bottom) with an Australian TV show, Sunday Night, and there are some interesting quotes from the piece. Some of the quotes are similar to her interview last week, but there is some new stuff, and Miranda seems like a sweetheart.

Miranda on her natural childbirth: “I had made the decision to not have any drugs, no epidural, nothing. Each to their own. I’m crazy for doing that! A lot of my friends who have had epidurals have said, ‘Oh (labor) was so great’.” Asked if her resolve wavered at any point during the labor, she admitted: “I remember looking at Orlando and saying ‘Oh honey.’ And he said, ‘Give me the epidural! Seriously, if you don’t want it I’ll take it because right now I’m dying watching you go through this pain’. I didn’t realize (Flynn) was going to be such a big baby.”

It wasn’t love at first sight with Orly: “I think it was his persistence,. Maybe he wanted me because he thought he couldn’t have me. I was reluctant – not about him, but the idea of that (him being a movie star).”

On having more children: “I always thought I would have three. Right now I’m just trying to enjoy Flynn. They say the first three years are the most important, so I want to make sure that he gets the attention and the nurturing and love that he really needs. so we’ll see what happens.”

[From The Mail]

Haha, she didn’t fall for Orly right away. Good for her for not sugar-coating it. I’ve always believed that Orly is WAY more into Miranda than she is with him. Not that Miranda doesn’t love him – I think she does. But I think Orly is just utterly devoted to her, and he walks around feeling like the luckiest guy in the world because she married him and had his baby.

Here’s the video of the interview:

Miranda Kerr on giving birth: “I actually thought I was going to die”

mirandaheader
I’ve made fun of Miranda Kerr in the past for thinking that quartz crystals can somehow pass their energy to water. She’s not the brightest bulb, but she’s very sweet. She really endeared herself to me with two new interviews in her native Australia, with the Daily Telegraph and with Australian In Style. She talks about her natural birth experience, a boyfriend who died when she was a teen, and the fact that she has help with her baby with Orlando Bloom, but doesn’t have a nanny per se. The most widely repeated quote is where she said she felt like she was going to die when she had her son, Flynn, in January. The baby was almost 10 pounds and it sounds like no one knew how big he was going to be until he came out.

On her birth experience
“I’ve never been through so much pain, but I was totally present the entire time, focusing on my breath and meditating,” she says. “I kept thinking, how do women do this? But if other women have done this, I can do it, too. I was determined.

“I actually thought I was going to die at one point and left my body. I felt as if I was looking down on myself – the pain was so intense. Then he came out and we met, and it was the best thing. I think once you go through something like that, nothing else fazes you – it puts everything into perspective.” Kerr later revealed to US talk show host Conan O’Brien that she wouldn’t let Bloom leave the room while she was in labour, even making him pee in a bottle.

“Orlando was by my side the whole time,” she smiles. “I couldn’t have done it without him. Just to have his support was a really wonderful experience.”

On naming her son after a boyfriend who died as a teen
Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom was (in part) named after Kerr’s first boyfriend, Christopher Middlebrook, who died in a tragic car accident when he was a teenager. In her book Treasure Yourself, she wrote of that time: “Chris’ death taught me that the people who touch your life are always with you. It taught me that I have the choice to be grateful for the time I had with him instead of dwelling on losing him.”

“Chris and I had been dating for two years,” she says today. “After he died, I wrote him a letter that said I hoped to name my first child after him in some way. I told Orlando and he was the one who said he’d be happy to do that. Orlando’s a good guy.”

On raising Flynn with Orlando’s help
“It’s whoever has their hands free. When I’m not working we don’t have a nanny. Some nights we have a lady who comes in to help out but he [Flynn] is getting better at sleeping now, so not as often. And if I need to get on a plane for one day of work, I pump my milk and put it into the freezer for Orlando.”

[From Daily Telegraph and In Style via Sydney Morning Herald]

At least she’s being honest about what she went through and isn’t minimizing it, like Gisele, who claimed that childbirth didn’t hurt “in the slightest.”

I had my son in a birth center without medication, and I’m mentioning this as background and do not consider it a bragging right. It wasn’t particularly brave on my part, because it was a fear of hospitals and doctors that led me to make that choice. The labor itself wasn’t that bad as I did hypnosis ahead of time and had a recorded session playing on a CD. The pushing was a bitch, and I remember it being much harder than I expected. (Maybe since I had dropped out of the Bradley birthing classes before we got to that part.)

Basically everyone’s birth experience is different, it’s a personal choice and I’m mentioning mine because I don’t want people to assume that it’s intolerable or impossible to have a child outside the hospital. It definitely was uncomfortable, and I might opt for meds if I ever have another one. (If there’s some situation where I can get meds and don’t have to be in the damn hospital.) When I got to see my baby though, it was so worth it. It sounds like Miranda feels the same and like she has a very solid relationship with Orly. They’re adorable together and Flynn is just so cute!

On another note, did you see these pictures of Orlando’s ex Kate Bosworth hugging up on him? It’s clear Miranda has nothing to worry about.

Photos below are from The Daily Telegraph, where there are more. She’s gorgeous but I feel like we’ve seen these before. In Style photo via Sydney Morning Herald.

Miranda Kerr shows off 6-month-old baby Flynn, who is chubby & adorable

fp_7553372_kerrmiranda_takeoff_excl_fp3_11_11

These photos of Miranda Kerr and her six-month-old son Flynn at LAX on July 4 prove several things all at once:

1. Miranda is still breastfeeding. I mean… my goodness.

2. Miranda + Orly Bloom = adorable babies.

3. Baby Flynn is ridiculously cute, amazingly chubby, absolutely gorgeous and he seems deliriously happy.

4. Baby Flynn doesn’t like shoes. I didn’t either when I was a baby! Some babies just don’t care for shoes.

5. Getting Miranda Kerr pregnant is the best, most interesting thing Orlando Bloom has ever done. Sorry, LOTR-lovers. It’s true.

Meanwhile, Miranda covers the new issue of Australian Cosmo, and the only interesting thing was Miranda’s confession that she’s been drinking Tahitian “Noni juice” since she was 14 years old – it’s some sort of obscure Asian fruit drink.

miranda1

Going back to Orly – have you guys seen the trailer for The Three Musketeers? Orly is… um… er… his hair! Oh, bless his heart.

Miranda Kerr’s amazing cleavage outshines Orlando Bloom at his own premiere

fp_7204363_kerr_bloom_aar_06_10

My goodness, someone is still nursing! I’ve never been a big Miranda Kerr fan (as a model, you know, she never really did it for me), but I really enjoyed her pregnancy and she’s grown on me significantly. I now have warm feelings for both Orlando Bloom and Miranda – they seem like really happy, excited first-time parents who are completely in love with each other and their baby Flynn. Anyway, these are some newish photos of Miranda’s boobs (and little else) at the premiere of Orly’s new film, The Good Doctor. The premiere was Friday night, so Miranda and Orly seemed to make into a date night. Orly looks beyond thrilled to have a wife like Miranda (or her boobs, what have you).

Like most new dads Orlando Bloom is proud of his 3-month-old son Flynn.

“He’s my boy, he’s amazing,” the actor told reporters before the premiere of The Good Doctor at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on Friday.

Bloom also explained how his life has changed since his son’s arrival on Jan 6.

“Everything you know, all the things that you thought were important, drift into the background,” Bloom, 34, said. “And even things that were important really come to the fore and he’s one of them.”

Saving some compliments for Flynn’s mother, Bloom said it felt “wonderful” to have Miranda Kerr by his side at the premiere. “She’s gorgeous,” he said of his wife of nine months, who recently showed off an unbelievable post-baby body at a bikini photo shoot.

The actor also had a movie to promote, telling reporters, “I get to play a doctor who falls in love with a patient, which is a big no-no.”

[From People]

Yes, Miranda’s post-pregnancy body is insane. Genetics and hard work, probably. And breast-feeding. Good for them! As for Orly and this film… eh. I guess it’s good for him that he’s still getting work. He’s not really relevant, he’s not a good actor, and he’s not even that pretty these days. But… I suspect he’s a lot happier these days. So maybe Miranda will let him be a stay-at-home house-husband.

Orlando Bloom: “I always like the smell of a woman, the neck, behind the ear”

orlando_bloom_2_wenn3254397

These are some new photos of Orlando Bloom, promoting his new gig in London. Orly has become the new “face” of Hugo Boss’s fragrance for men, Boss Orange Man, which seems like a completely random name for a cologne. Orly is joined (in spirit) by the face of Boss Orange Woman, Sienna Miller. I have to say… Orly needs the gig. Even though he’s gotten some film roles here and there over the past year, Orly needed to get his face out there in some kind of professional setting. So that’s why he looks so nice in these photos – he’s happy to be working. Orly also sat down for an interview with Elle UK at the event:

On fragrance
‘I wasn’t really a ‘fragrance guy’ before, but Boss Orange is so easy to wear. It adds another dimension to my personality’, Orlando told us. ‘I wouldn’t have done it if it didn’t fit my personality; it’s so easy going, you can go mountain biking in it if you want!’

On inspiration
‘I love to people watch whenever I can. I’m also inspired by nature, books, art, films, old TV shows, music, architecture and travel, so much inspires me’.

On home
‘London is definitely home for me. The underground has a really ‘specific’ smell which I remember from travelling to school and college. I also love the smell of fresh cut grass in summer, it reminds me of Kent (where Orlando grew up) and cricket’.

On travel
‘I love Africa. And I especially love Nepal. The people are amazing, really free-spirited.’

On his look
‘For me, I have to be comfortable in what I’m wearing and in my own skin. But if being groomed to the nines gives you a click in your step makes you happy then great… I do enjoy a frock, when I’m playing a character, it adds another dimension!’

On style icons
‘Steve McQueen was always a stylish man and Johnny Depp definitely has his own style’.

On women
‘I always like the smell of a woman, the neck, behind the ear; she can be wearing a fragrance or not. I don’t like fragrances that wear a woman though’.

On film
‘I really like the film Perfume, it’s really hard but they definitely captured the spirit. It would be great if, like 3D cinemas, they could add smell to films’.

On the future
‘I always try to evolve, take myself out of my comfort zone and push myself forward’.

[From Elle UK]

He’s really rather harmless, isn’t he? He’s not a bad guy, he’s just not super-talented or anything. And yes, I know I’m bringing the wrath of the Orly-loonies on my head for that one, but honestly, I could say much worse. Besides, I’m liking Orlando more and more these days now that he’s a dad. He seems… calmer and sweeter.

Here’s the ad for Boss Orange Man:

Orlando Bloom & Miranda Kerr take baby Flynn to Paris

fp_6892299_ang_bloom_kerr_baby_07_15

I have to admit, I’ve never, ever, EVER seen anything with Orlando Bloom. Even back when he was relevant, circa 2002, I was never into him. He just seemed so fancy and silly. BUT… I like the new Orly. This new Orlando is steadily growing on me. This version is a devoted husband to his wife, Miranda Kerr, and he’s a new father to baby Flynn Kerr-Bloom, and he just seems like this is the happiest he’s ever been. Like, he just looks as if he completely adores being in the company of his wife and son. It’s so cute. And I think it’s real – he’s not that good of an actor, you know? He just loves his life right now.

Anyway, these are new photos of Orly, Miranda and Flynn exiting de Gaulle airport in Paris this morning. I love that even when Flynn is in Miranda’s arms, Orly still has his hand out to support Flynn’s neck. Or is he trying to make sure the photographers don’t get a shot of Flynn? I don’t know. Miranda looks great too – she’s the one who is way more relaxed.

Apparently, they’re in town for Paris Fashion Week. Do you think Miranda will walk a runaway or two? I doubt it. She’s probably just there to put in some appearances beside the catwalk.

Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr’s nursery is green, literally

fp_5820738_ang_balenciaga_arrivefw_20_23

New parents Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr are known for their environmental activism. Orlando is involved with both UNICEF and Global Green, while Miranda has her own line of organic beauty products and gave birth to son Flynn without pain medications.

So it makes sense that the nursery for Flynn would be “green,” as in eco-friendly. But Mirlando have taken it a step further — the nursery is literally green.

Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom have spent the past few months renovating their home to make room for their new baby boy, Flynn!

“Miranda and Orlando have spent weeks decorating Flynn’s nursery, child-proofing and making it completely eco-friendly,” a source tells In Touch. “They painted it a pale green, and his mattress, blankets and clothes are all organic!”

[In Touch, print edition, February 7, 2011]

Orlando has taken a lengthy break from big Hollywood movies, playing supporting roles in independent films like Main Street and Sympathy for Delicious instead. But he will be back in blockbusters like The Three Musketeers (as the bad guy) and hopefully The Hobbit. He was also just announced as the lead in The Laureate, playing poet Robert Graves.

With her interest in health and beauty, Miranda should be back in bikinis for Victoria’s Secret soon too.

Their passion for the earth and interest in Buddhism are why these two seem to be a good match, and it’s nice to see them raising their son in the same way. But the Orly-loonie part of me is glad Orlando will be back on the big screen, especially as Legolas.
