Emo couple Ashlee Simpson and her new husband, musician Pete Wentz, had a “white trash” themed 24th birthday party for Ashlee. The tasteless soiree was held at Ashlee’s parents’ home on Friday and featured a feast of corn dogs, macaroni and cheese, and cheap beer that some guests drank out of paper bags. Host Pete wore a fake mullet and a tank top while pregnant Ashlee, who is due to have her first child at the end of next month, sported a fake tattoo on her large belly.

And a lot of beer. Some were drinking beer out of paper bags. It was really hysterical.” The beer of choice in the paper bags? “Pabst Blue Ribbon – PBR.” Ashlee wasn’t drinking it of course!

People has the details of the hosts’ outfits, which paint an even more questionable picture:

“It had a white-trash theme,” says a guest who attended the bash at Simpson’s parents’ home in Encino. “Ashlee wore Daisy Dukes and platform flip-flops with a bathing suit and a fake tattoo around her belly.”

The singer celebrated with friends and family including husband Pete Wentz, dad Joe and sister Jessica.

“Joe wore a cut-off muscle T-shirt and a mullet wig. It was funny,” says a guest. “Jessica was wearing a crazy leopard-print dress that showed off a lot of cleavage.”

The menu included corn dogs, macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers and French fries.

With her first child due next month, an exhausted Simpson-Wentz headed home early, missing party guests Christina Aguilera, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, who dropped by after hitting Gwen Stefani’s birthday party earlier that night.

Life and Style adds that the perky fringe-banged couple is considering a move to NY after the baby comes to “minimize the paparazzi experience and celebrity exposure.” That’s doubtful considering how much they both court the press. I’m only surprised that we haven’t seen the photos of this party yet considering that it was a Simpson affair. This baby is going to hit the newsstands in some kind of exclusive spread three to four weeks after birth.

Many people find “white trash” to be a derogatory and dismissive term that unfairly labels poor people, particularly those that live in the country or the south. Our friend Michelle over at “White Trash Mom” sees it as term that people can reclaim. In her view, it’s not a negative to be called “White Trash” and it just means you’re normal and not perfect. She thinks most of us have a little white trash inside.

Rumer Willis debuted a much-improved look on the red carpet for the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party last night. She’s let her hair grow out a bit to a more flattering length and was wearing it in a style that fit her face better. She was also sporting a new tattoo that says, “Be Present,” in a pretty script. Rumer’s always had a killer body, but she managed to accent it with just the right dress so it really stood out. All in all she pulled off her look really well.

Rumer Willis is famous for her fashion disasters, but the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore finally got it right at the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party where she turned heads in a barely there black dress which showed off her new toned figure.

The revealing outfit also revealed a tattoo which reads ‘be present’.

Rumer was also sporting a new red hair colour at the event in Los Angeles County Museum of Art and her slender frame.

I really love the Daily Mail’s quickly put together stories. That last sentence makes it sound like the event was held at the Museum of Art and in her slender frame. They also originally wrote her tattoo said “Be Prepared.” Because nothing says “cool tattoo” like a Boy Scout motto.

It seems like Rumer’s growing into herself and learning what works for her and what doesn’t. We all have our body issues to deal with, and it can take some time and adjustments to figure out how to conceal or complement them. Rumer’s had to do that in front of the cameras. Luckily it looks like she’s finding a style that works for her.

We’re all allowed our bad moods and bad days. But when you’re a celebrity you forfeit that right – at least to an extent. Fair or not, if you’re in a noticeably bad mood at a public event, people are going to hear about it. And pretty soon you’re known as that crazy diva bitch instead of the nice girl next door you used to be. Unfortunately for Kate Hudson, she was in one of those moods the other night. It doesn’t sound like it was anything legendary, nor does it seem indicative of some well-hidden bitchy persona. In fact it seems all the more surprising because she generally seems pretty nice and down to earth.

KATE Hudson shocked partiers Thursday night with her “nasty and rude” demeanor. Hudson arrived at the Gramercy Park Hotel for the Bravo premiere party for Rachel Zoe’s new show, “The Rachel Zoe Project,” in “an absolutely foul mood,” our spy said. “She was almost indignant waiting for a friend to arrive.” When the friend came, Hudson and pal got in an elevator headed to the rooftop party, but the actress became incensed when there were too many people around her. “In the elevator she kept screeching, ‘I’m freaking out! It’s too much!’ while waving her arms around.”

When she arrived at the roof, Hudson shunned the press line, claiming, “I don’t do that,” before going into a corner and demanding a bodyguard. She perked up when Kevin Connolly came over and flirted with her, before she left for the Rose Bar. A rep for Hudson said, “This is all ridiculous and completely untrue. Kate did go to Rachel’s party to celebrate her new show, had a great time and left with the group of girlfriends she came with.”

Okay Kate’s behavior does sound extraordinarily bitchy. But we all have those days. Normally we can just keep to ourselves, and few of us have press lines to avoid. There are about thirty things I wouldn’t like about being a celebrity, but the notion that you’re always supposed to be overtly nice and friendly to everyone you come across is probably number one.

And I think there’s a good chance that Kate is claustrophobic, and that’s what was going on in the elevator. I have a friend who has severe claustrophobia, and it’s brought on when she’s stressed, anxious, or otherwise in a bad mood, which it sounds like Kate was. Put a person who’s feeling that way in an elevator, and they’re likely to freak out. And that stifled feeling can remain long after they’re partying on the roof deck.

I’ll admit that it sounds like Kate was in a bad mood, but I think everyone gets a pass. This is really more noteworthy because it’s so different from the things that are generally reported about her, not because it’s part of her character.

For my sweet sixteen my dad took me and one friend to a restaurant, bought us dinner, and gave me a pair of athletic shoes from Costco. The exact same pair he’d given me the year before. Both remained unworn. For Miley Cyrus’ birthday, her dad Billy Ray Cyrus is throwing her a giant party at Disneyland. And if that’s not enough, the girl is even selling tickets to her big bash.

The bash has been described as “awesome,” and “totally awesome” by the teenager with the sixty year old smoker’s voice.

Miley Cyrus wants fans to help her celebrate her Sweet 16 — for a little green.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the teen queen — who earned $18.2 million last year — is selling a limited number of $250 tickets to her bash, set to take place at Disneyland. (She turns the big 1-6 on November 23.)

Tickets for “Miley’s Sweet 16 — Share the Celebration” go on sale August 30 at 9 a.m. PDT. Members of Youth Service America will also be honored for their charitable work.

“It’s gonna be an awesome party with more than 7 things I like,” she tells ET. “It’s gonna be totally awesome. I hope it’s a great time.”

She wouldn’t dish more, but said, “I love roller coasters. So this is my ultimate birthday.”

What’s on her birthday wish list? “A car,” she has said. “I will let you know when I’m on the road so you get off the road!”

I was a little confused by that whole thing with the Members of Youth Service America being honored for their charitable work. What in the world does that have to do with Miley Cyrus’ birthday? There’s no mention of proceeds going to help them or anything. It just seems like this random bit of do-goodery publicity thrown in there. Maybe it’s one of the seven things she likes.

Something tells me Miley’s wish of getting a car will probably come true. Though I do hope she gets a pair of athletic shoes too. That’s every girl’s sweet sixteen fantasy. No I’m not still bitter, why?

Hugh Hefner may finally be growing up. Whoever thought a man could jump from stunted 25-year-old bachelor to senior citizen without any of the stages that generally come in between? According to Pop Tarts, Hef is finally planning on retiring the bunny ears. The parties, the extra girlfriends – maybe even the grotto. It’s all on its way out. Say it ain’t so.

It looks like Holly Madison is finally getting what she wants — Hugh Hefner all to herself and the winding down of his wild parties populated by girls wearing next to nothing.

Fellow girlfriends Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt were nowhere to be seen at last Thursday’s EA Madden NFL ’09 Game Launch party at West Hollywood’s STK. And the Playboy founder clearly only had eyes for Madison as they canoodled in the back VIP booth, with Holly very much in her element and laughing a lot more than usual (for once she didn’t have to share her man).

… Pop Tarts has been told by numerous inside sources that this is the last time bunnies and big-wigs will hop around the Shakespeare-themed party. After decades and decades of wild nights, we hear Hef is calling it a day and that Playboy Enterprises has decided that this party and the upcoming annual Halloween party will be the last that the magazine mogul personally throws as a means to cut costs.

A rep from the men’s mag kept mum on the murmurs, saying: “Who knows what will happen in a year from now?”

The article says that the mansion is still going to be available for private party rentals. Sounds like an excellent place to host a wedding shower to me. It sounds like the decision is mostly a business one, but I’m sure Holly Madison still has visions of little babies crawling around in bunny costumes. Of course they’ll be the kind with footies and a trap door in the back for a quick diaper change. No word on if Hef is really ready to act his age… or even half his age. But it seems like a step, nonetheless.

Gwyneth Paltrow is constantly trying to make sure she retains the rights to her “fish sticks” nickname. The woman really is getting even colder and more aloof, at least if you believe anything the Daily News had to say about her.

Gwyneth attended photographer Steven Klein’s benefit party for the Amaryllis Farm Equine Rescue Organization on Saturday night, where they paid $2,500 to mingle with Gwyneth and a few lesser celebs. However Ms. Paltrow stayed in an off-limits area of the party all night, which was then blocked off by security. She didn’t mingle or speak with any of the Hamptons partygoers, and emerged for only five minutes to give a brief speech.

Already disappointed that honorary chair Madonna didn’t show … guests became even more crestfallen when Paltrow spent most of the time off-limits in Klein’s house. “Gwyneth stayed in the house from the beginning,” sniffed one guest. “She was hanging inside the house with Steven and with Kelly Klein nearly the entire time. Nobody could go inside the house — they had security blocking the way. It was so rude.”Even Billy Joel’s wife, Katie, was turned back, says a source.

Paltrow did emerge for about five minutes to address the group, which included Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Andrew Saffir, Nicole Miller, Sale Johnson, Russell Simmons, Rosanna Scotto, Rocco DiSpirito and Marcy Warren.

After crying, “I can’t see! I can’t see!” as she teetered to the field, the “Iron Man” star talked about Amaryllis, which helps stop the slaughter of horses, donkeys and mules for dog meat in Mexico.

If only Paltrow would use her power, some thought, to let everybody into the house, which is where she quickly sequestered herself the rest of the evening. But all’s well that ends well: After an auction of Klein’s photographs, the evening raised $200,000 for the charity.

I would so love to live in Mariah Carey’s world. It sounds frivolous, empty, and incredibly easy. Rarely do you hear about Mimi’s schedule getting bogged down with commitments like going to charity events, donating money, raising awareness for anything – well other than herself. She’s constantly flashing humongous jewels and furs and seen dining at the best restaurants. It’s kind of hard to tell where my sarcasm left off and truth began here.

Mariah’s self-indulgent lifestyle is getting kicked up a notch at the end of the month. Though she’d previously planned on throwing herself another wedding (because the first one to Nick Cannon – and Mariah’s second wedding overall) wasn’t fabulous enough, what with the island setting and the lobster and all). Plans for that seem to have been scrapped, but she is still throwing herself a wedding party so everyone can celebrate her in grand style. Oh and Nick too. Probably.

Mariah Carey is finally getting the wedding party she always dreamed about. Sources say Carey paid an astounding $125,000 to rent Stone Meadow Farm in East Hampton for one week this month. At the 10-bedroom, 18,000 square-foot, 8-acre spread, the diva and her new hubby, Nick Cannon, will “chill out” – as opposed to whatever else they’ve been doing since they married.

But we hear she’s also finally getting around to celebrating her quickie April wedding to Cannon. The party will be hosted by Def Jam boss L.A. Reid, and all the guests who bought Carey presents through her Bergdorf Goodman registry can finally toast the couple.

If all goes well, Carey has the option to buy Stone Meadow, which is listed at just under $20 million and is the site of the Red Cross Ball on Aug. 23. Carey’s rep and Corcoran listing agent Gary DePersia had no comment.

Yesterday photos of Mary Kate Olsen partying with Nicole Richie, Joel Madden and Mary Kate’s ex, Max Snow, were leaked and published on Oh No They Didn’t. The photos show the privileged 20-somethings having a good time in a spacious house with their friends, looking drunk and playing with a piñata. Most of them are wearing plaid and it seems like it’s the theme of the night and could be a pajama party.

Nicole Richie holds up a bottle of water in one picture so it’s possible she was pregnant with little Harlow at that point. Harlow was born January 11, which would mean she was pregnant starting in May, 2007. Max Snow and Mary Kate Olsen broke up sometime in the early fall of last year.

There’s nothing particularly incriminating about these photos and they all look pretty innocent. The one where they’re scrambling on the floor over something looks possibly drug-related, but they’re probably just trying to collect the candy from the piñata.

Michael Jackson briefly came out of the woodwork this weekend to celebrate friend Christian Audigier’s 50th birthday in Los Angeles. The party was attended by some major showbiz heavyweights, including Britney Spears. That’s right, Britney and Michael were in the same room, and the universe did NOT implode. That’s a lot of potential crazy within 100 yards, easily enough to knock the earth off its axis.

Despite the potential hazards to humanity, the party went off without a hitch, with celebrities like Fergie, Pam Anderson, and Snoop Dogg also in attendance. However everyone was disappointed in the King of Pop, who failed to perform at the event – choosing to mutter a few words into a microphone and then exit hastily.

The crowd went wild as Michael Jackson strode purposefully on stage and picked up a microphone. Was this the moment he was going to break into song and end his years of silence? Er, no. The fallen star just muttered a few words… then slunk back into his self-imposed obscurity.

The huge anti-climax came at an exclusive showbiz party in Los Angeles to mark fashion designer Christian Audigier’s 50th birthday. A-list guests – including Britney Spears and Pamela Anderson – went into a frenzy as Audigier introduced the “King of Pop”. But all they got as Jacko, 49, stepped onto the platform was a whispered, “Hello”. He added politely: “Christian is the King of Fashion” before turning on his heels and trouping off.

An insider said: “Everyone went mad when he grabbed the microphone. The mood was electric. But sadly there was no impromptu gig. It was a shame because he looked in pretty good shape. He was obviously just putting in an appearance for his old pal Christian.”

The Daily Mail notes that Britney was at the party, escorted by her father Jaime Spears and agent Jason Trawick. Fergie performed and Pamela Anderson gave a speech… which I’m guessing was super inspiring. But she did manage to flash the crowd – and nothing inspires like Pam Anderson’s ladybits. I didn’t realize that Britney’s dad was monitoring her so closely that he was actually her date to events. Hopefully he doesn’t go all Joe Simpson on her.

Michael Jackson disappointing isn’t really anything exciting, in and of itself. He’s not exactly the sort to surprise everyone and whip out a performance. Though apparently he did whip off his face mask for a while – and really, that’s about all we can hope for from the guy.

Poor Lindsay Lohan. It must really suck to have karma bite you on the ass. La Lohan has been acting like a drunken spoiled brat for the last several years, and it’s finally getting the best of her. She hasn’t had a successful decent movie since Mean Girls, and hasn’t gotten any press for doing anything good since about that time. You never hear anyone say, “Lindsay Lohan did such a nice _______.” You do hear them say, “Lindsay Lohan ran over a guy’s foot,” and “Lindsay Lohan stole a random girl’s $11,000 fur coat.” I’m pretty sure next week you’ll hear, “Lindsay Lohan went to Disneyland and kicked Donald Duck in the crotch, just to see him cry.”

Lohan’s reputation as a poor actress with an even poorer work ethic has finally caught up with her. She’s been un-attached from the Charles Manson film she was scheduled to shoot – all because no one wanted to work with her – even no-name celebs.

Lohan has been un-attached from the independent feature The Manson Girls, written and to be directed by Matthew Bright, and produced by Elie Samaha, Donald Kushner, and Brad Wyman through Junction Films. Production was slated to commence in early July for five weeks in Los Angeles, and everybody was pleased that Lohan was attached back in March. (Some may, or may not, view this true life crime film for her as hitting bottom. Lindsay was to play the part of Nancy Pitman, a pampered surfer girl who became enthralled with Charlie Manson.)

But people associated with the movie told agents that Lohan quickly became more of a deficit than an asset when they discovered that they couldn’t find any name actresses who wanted to co-star with her. (And even some name actors…) So now Lindsay is off the pic — but not for the excuses being circulated. Let this be a lesson… Behaving badly may get you on the covers of celebrity-obsessed mags and tabloids. But Hollywood won’t tolerate your shit and shouldn’t.

Rush & Molloy also mentioned that after she was dropped from the film, Lohan was spotted downing tequila shots with Lauren Conrad. Getting publicly plastered with a “reality” T.V. star? I’m not sure who should be more embarrassed to be seen with who here. You’d think reality TV actresses would be the lowest on the Hollywood food chain… but I’m pretty sure that Lohan is forevermore at the bottom of any list anyone could make.
