Patrick Dempsey is into spanking and ‘being physical in public’

Patrick Dempsey, 42, is quoted by UK’s Sun, which probably excerpted this from another interview they’re not properly crediting, as saying that he can’t really define romance but that it includes all the cliché things plus some added spice - like spanking. You know he’s into full bondage and all the gear and this is as much as he’ll admit to:

[Patrick Dempsey] said: “Romance is an atmosphere, a feeling, a mood, a place, it’s in the air. It is the little things - even a spanking every now and then!

“It is hard to define romance other than going with the clichés of a lake, a boat, a picnic basket and a sunset.”

But the sexy actor also treats his wife to more conventional romantic treats, and loves whisking her off for a weekend in France and Italy.

“Certain cities are so exciting because they promote being physical in public,” he revealed. “Paris, New York and Rome are fun to visit. But then there is the Italian countryside, Tuscany and Florence, where everyone is romancing.”

[From The Sun]

So we know that Dempsey likes spanking, “being physical in public” in cities, which means a quickie in an alley somewhere, and having sex out in the Italian countryside. Vacation sex is usually better, especially when you add in some healthy S&M.

I asked Ceilidh if she thought Dempsey was the kinky type and she said she could totally see it and that he must make his wife wear some painful device under her clothes and that’s why she never smiles on the red carpet. She also said that’s all she’ll be thinking about when she sees Dempsey from now on.

Can you picture Dempsey getting into it, his face all screwed up in rapturous goofy concentration? The thought makes me laugh nervously and cringe at the same time. He’s just not all that sexy to me, and now he seems awkward and eager for some reason.

Patrick Dempsey has been married to Jill Fink Dempsey, his second wife, for nine years. They have three children, daughter Tallulah, 8, and twin boys Darby and Sullivan, one and a half. He was first married at the age of 21 to a 48 year-old actress, Rochelle Parker, who had a son who was a year older than him. Is it wrong for me to think that she turned him out?

Patrick Dempsey got bug bites on his privates, wants Eric Dane’s pecs

Patrick Dempsey had something munching on his groin during his recent film – and it wasn’t a starlet hoping to make Hollywood connections:

The actor was filming in Scotland and was happy to don the country’s native dress (a kilt), which is often worn without undergarments.

Dempsey was determined to wear his kilt in an authentic manner, but found himself covered in bites from local winged flies - forcing him to go back to wearing underwear to protect his most delicate area.
He says, “I wore a kilt for the wedding scenes, but had to wear something underneath. I tried nothing but I was bitten all over by midges.”

Contact Music

I guess the shoot was taking place in a warm climate – I always wonder if Scotsman do wear nothing under their kilts, when it is so cold in Scotland. There is nothing sexier than a masculine man in a kilt, in my opinion. I’m looking forward to seeing the film, titled ‘Made of Honor’.

Patrick also feels the exact same way about Eric Dane as the rest of us – he’s McSteamy!

“I’m not Eric Dane,” he tells Parade in their upcoming issue. “McSteamy is in perfect shape. I definitely have pec envy. There’s a lot of pressure being a man in this town.”

The cycling enthusiast continues, “People are seeing a fantasy. It’s not necessarily me, but it does help your ego. Look, I know TV is a visual medium, so of course I want to be in shape, but I don’t want to be ripped.”

OK! Magazine

Since Patrick Dempsey basically plays the love interest in a run of romantic comedies, I don’t think he needs to be ‘ripped’. Maybe if he’s considering a role in a new action flick he should start working those weights, although lifting weights is significantly less painful then the chest wax that seems to come hand in hand with buff male Hollywood bodies.

Katherine Heigl Tries To Eat Her Words

Katherine Heigl might not be smart enough to know when to keep her mouth shut, but she is clever enough to know when to apologise. Or at least clarify. Katherine recently branded the comedy she starred in ‘Knocked Up’ as being sexist.

She tells People.com, “It’s important to me to take a minute and clarify the quote about ‘Knocked Up’ in Vanity Fair.

“I was responding to previous reviews about the movie the interviewer brought to my attention. My motive was to encourage other women like myself to not take that element of the movie too seriously and to remember that it’s a broad comedy.

“Although I stand behind my opinion, I’m disheartened that it has become the focus of my experience with the movie.

“The truth is, it was the best filming experience of my career. Every person that was a part of making ‘Knocked Up’ helped to encourage, support and inspire me. I never intended for anyone to think otherwise.”

San Francisco Chronicle

Katherine has never been afraid to say what she thinks, previously she’s been known to publicly discuss her pay negotiations, and also suggested that Isaiah Washington should “just not speak in public. Period”.

I’m guessing that Isaiah Washington won’t be invited to Katherine’s wedding to Josh Kelly, but it seems the rest of the Grey’s Anatomy cast has been. T.R. Knight will be serving as bridesman, but Patrick Dempsey won’t be coming, instead he plans to stay home and spend Christmas with his new twins.

“It’s the first Christmas with the boys. They’ll be walking by then, so we’re excited,” he says.

As a result, he won’t be attending his “Grey’s” co-star Katherine Heigl’s wedding, but he shares, “I am so happy for her. I’ve never seen her so happy. He’s a great guy, too, and they are a great couple.”

ET

I wonder what Katherine said to Patrick Dempsey to stop him from attending her wedding? She seems to have chronic foot in mouth disease, doesn’t she know that you never say anything disparaging about your co-workers or boss? Except when you are inside a sound proof room, in a different country, and only when you intend on resigning. Or after your 15th cocktail at the office Christmas party.

Grey’s Anatomy cast joins picket line

top-91771553.jpg

Many actors are joining the striking writers on the picket lines. At first it seemed to be filled with writers/actors like Tina Fey and several cast members of “The Office” who are also writers. Jon Stewart has said that his production company will continue to pay the salaries of the striking writers on “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report.” Production has ceased on “The Office” after Steve Carell refused to cross the picket line. Now several actors are joining the writers and picketing alongside them, including the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy.” I think all their “Mc” cuteness is really annoying, but I would love to see McSteamy all fired up and holding angry picket signs.

The cast of the top-rated medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” joined striking Hollywood writers on a picket line Wednesday and said they were shooting scenes for their last scripted episode. Stars Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh and T.R. Knight, who plays Dr. George O’Malley, spent their lunch breaks outside the Prospect Studios, where “Grey’s” is filmed. “We’re supposed to be going until the end of May and right now our last shooting day will be Tuesday or Wednesday,” Knight said. “As actors, we’re paid a different way than the writers, but there’s also the crew to keep in mind. They are out of work as of next Wednesday.”

Said Oh, who plays Dr. Christina Yang: “This matter is way too important not only for our writers, but ultimately everyone who makes movies, everyone who makes entertainment here in this town and again for the rest of the world.” Other cast members included Justin Chambers, James Pickens Jr., Sara Ramirez, Eric Dane and Katherine Heigl, who portrays Dr. “Izzie” Stevens. “You’ve got to have a story,” Heigl said. “You’ve got to have a story in order to perform anything, to have any ideas on where to go and what to do, and where the character, story lines, arcs, everything. They’re everything. We can’t do it without them.”

“It’s really a big tragedy to be out here striking at all,” said Dempsey, who plays Dr. Derek Shepherd. “I think there are going to be a lot of people affected by this, that have families, that live paycheck to paycheck, that upsets me profoundly. But at the same time, I do feel that the writers deserve a better break on the deals they have been getting.”

[From the Associated Press]

The Writers Guild of America strike began Monday when negotiations fell through with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The main sticking point is over how much writers are paid when shows are available on the Internet. Considering how hard they work and how integral they are to the very foundation and success of a show, most writers deserve a lot more than they’re getting. Equally important, though far less principled, (okay so not so equally important) is what happens when writers strike: more reality shows. Remember when all that crap started? You know why? Writer’s strike. You don’t need writers to make someone eat a bunch of bugs while balancing on a bar 300 feet off the ground over a pool of snapping sea turtles. Or whatever it is they do on reality TV. So let’s hope the producers give in soon, for the sake of the writers, the rest of the production staff who aren’t getting paid, and the rest of us who might have to watch incredibly crappy TV. Or we could just read. You would think the writers would like that, too.

Patrick Dempsey turning into a diva

spx-004259.jpg

Patrick Dempsey has always struck me as a pretty affable guy, but that’s probably because every time I see him I get all butterflies-in-the-stomach and can’t really think clearly. Apparently he’s been acting like a bit of a diva on the set of “Grey’s Anatomy” – though diva-like behavior isn’t exactly news there. A lot of the cast members were said to be jealous that Kate Walsh got her own spinoff show, and the whole Isaiah Washington thing originally started after he used a gay slur to refer to T.R. Knight when he was late for filming. It seems like tensions run high there.

With Isaiah Washington’s Dr. Preston burke long gone from Seattle Grace hospital, you’d think all would be calm and quiet on the set of ABS’s dramedy “Grey’s Anatomy.” Not so! Patrick “McDreamy” Dempsey is turning into something of a diva, according to a guest star.

“Patrick was not friendly and had a really bad attitude,” says the guest star. “So bad, in fact, that one of the producers actually came and apologized to me for Patrick’s rude behavior.”

Patrick’s aloofness isn’t limited to guest stars. He doesn’t interact much with the other cast members and “is not friendly to the crew” the guest says. “If they take too long to set up a scene, he storms off to his trailer telling the crew, ‘I’m going back to my trailer. You guys are taking too long.’” Nor does the heartthrob appreciate direction - from the director!
The guest believes Dempsey has an attitude because “he really wants to be a serious lead actor and is upset the writers put him in this McDreamy showboat role.”

[From Star Magazine, October 29 2007 print edition]

You know it’s just a matter of time before there’s another dustup. The last time it seemed like Dempsey was the good guy, socking Isaiah Washington in an attempt to defend T.R. Knight’s honor. This next time, I’m guessing it’ll be a little more like Patrick Dempsey socks the gaffer in the face for not doing the lights right, then trips the craft services person over the pickles in the sandwich.

Another real-life manfight on Grey’s, this time between McDreamy and McSteamy

It must suck to work on the set of Grey’s anatomy. Somehow people are always hurling insults and smack-talking about one another.

Isaiah Washington choked and shoved Patrick Dempsey in the famous “f-word” incident back in October, in which Dempsey came to the defense of his co-star T.R. Knight, who subsequent came out of the closet after the news broke. Isaiah then denied he said “faggot” at this year’s Golden Globes, bringing up the whole incident and throwing out the forbidden word again, which prompted him to check into rehab for PR control.

Now there’s word that Patrick Dempsey and Eric Dane were playing a game of poker with fellow cast and crew during a break from filming when it got ugly. Dane accused Dempsey of cheating and lunged at him, prompting Dempsey to try and punch him out. The crew separated the two before any contact was made, but how much animosity must there be on that set?

The star duo butted heads when Dane suddenly threw down his cards and jumped up howling that “Lucky” Dempsey must be pulling some kind of hanky-panky! Inflamed by the cheating charge, McDreamy cocked a fist and started to swing as McSteamy lunged! In an instant, crewmembers leaped up and separated the angry actors, who kept screaming insults at each other until they were led to cool off.

[From The National Enquirer print edition, Mike Walker’s column, January 19. 2007]

Later in the day the two apologized to each other.

Not everyone on Grey’s hates each other. Katherine Heigl and TR Knight are said to be good friends who were perhaps brought together by all the strife on set between Knight and Washington. Heigl came to Knight’s defense earlier, saying Washington just needed to shut up about the gay-bashing incident and that it was not ok that he brought it up again.

Here’s a link to a Grey’s Anatomy spoiler.

Patrick Dempsey in yet another medical hero scene

This is the second story from The National Enquirer’s Mike Walker in which Patrick Dempsey stars at the hero of a supposed real-life medical drama, so take it for what it is. In October he was said to have saved a Grey’s Anatomy crewmember who was suffering from a blood clot by calling 911 after he noticed that the guy looked sick.

Supposedly some kids were engaging in a bizarre practice I’ve never heard of, in which they let the car roll while dancing beside or on it. (I doubted anyone would actually do this, but there’s a clip on YouTube so at least some idiot has tried it.) A kid predictably had his foot run over, and Depsey, who was randomly driving by and witnessed the dumbass scene, stayed with him and called 911.

Shocking moment for PATRICK DEMPSEY, who slowed down on a Hollywood street when he spotted teenagers playing that exciting new game, Ghost Riding the Whip – in which driver and passengers get out of a car while it’s still idling slowly down the street and dance beside it. Suddenly … YEEEOW!…one dancing punk got too close to the tires – and the car ran over his foot! The “Grey’s Anatomy” doc pulled over to help, and made a medical decision by calling 911…STAT! The teens were stunned to find Dr. McDreamy suddenly in their midst, but he told them he’s not a doctor – he just plays one on TV. He stayed with the kid until the ambulance arrived – and real medics diagnosed a broken foot.

If I saw this in a regular newspaper I might believe it, but since it’s the second hero story from Mike Walker about Patrick Dempsey I’m thinking it’s either fabricated PR or grossly exaggerated. How often do people pull this stupid Ghostriding the Whip stunt and have you guys ever heard of it before?

Dr. McDreamy Patrick Dempsey saves a guy’s life IRL

Patrick Dempsey noticed that a Grey’s Anatomy crewmember looked pale, and he asked him what was wrong. The man said that he felt dizzy, but that he would be ok shortly. Dempsey told him that he was calling an ambulance right away, and it’s a good thing, because the guy had a life-threatening blood clot in his leg!

CALLING DR. McDREAMY! Just days before PATRICK DEMPSEY got attacked and choked by costar ISAIAH “Dr. McJealous” WASHINGTON on the “Grey’s Anatomy” set, Dempsey spotted a crewmember hanging onto a pole, looking white as a doc’s smock! “What’s wrong?” he asked – and when the guy admitted he was dizzy and couldn’t feel his legs, the star yelled to a staffer: “Call an ambulance… NOW!” The stricken guy protested, but Dempsey and a crewmember carried him to a lounge chair. Paramedics arrived swiftly, took vital signs… and hustled him to Emergency. Turns out he was seriously ill, suffering from a blood clot in his leg that could have traveled and killed him if he hadn’t gotten fast treatment. (Good work, McDreamy! And McJealous, remember your physicians’ oath: “First… do no harm, dammit!”)

That must be the “deep vein thrombosis” that you hear so much about when you’re dealing with all the other crap that goes along with flying commercial.

Not only does Dempsey come to the defense of his costars - he saves lives with his quick thinking!

Dempsey’s costar T.R. Knight has come out as a proud gay man, much to the dismay of women everywhere. It is thought that the of story Isaiah Washington choking Dempsey and calling another cast member a “faggot” prompted him to come out.
