I should really pay more attention to Paulina Porizkova, because this bitch is fabulous. She’s at an age and a stage at her career where she gets more attention for simply being honest and burning whatever bridges she had left. When she got fired from America’s Next Top Model, she went public with her numerous criticisms of the show, and with Tyra Banks in particular. A few months ago, Paulina also blogged about plastic surgery, calling out Madonna, Heidi Montag and even Kate Hudson’s breast enlargement. And now Paulina has given a great interview to PopEater, and she is calling EVERYBODY out. Hide yo’ wife! My favorites are what she says about Naomi Campbell and Janice Dickinson, who, in Paulina’s words, “Now she looks like a transvestite.” Here’s more:

If there’s one thing Paulina Porizkova learned from her experience as a model, it’s that being beautiful can get awfully ugly. So says the ’80s cover girl in a scathing new interview in which she groans about growing older, slams her fellow supermodels and disses celebrities with bad plastic surgery.

“Nothing ages as poorly as a beautiful woman’s ego,” the 45-year-old Czech tells the New York Post. “When you have used your beauty to get around, it’s like having extra cash in your back pocket.

“I was so used to walking down the street and having the young guys passing by at least give me a flicker of a look. But once you’re over 40, you become invisible. You’re a brick in the building and it’s sad. It just feels like the sun went down a little bit. It got a little cloudy outside.”

Once one of the industry’s most in-demand models, the former Sports Illustrated cover girl went on to enjoy a brief film career, starring opposite Tom Selleck in 1989′s ‘Her Alibi.’ But these days, Porizkova claims the job offers are few and far between.
“I’m too old to model,” she says, “and I’m too old to act.”

Porizkova’s luck was no better when she became a judge on ‘America’s Next Top Model’ in 2008. Fired after just one season, she later complained that host Tyra Banks didn’t speak to her when the cameras were off. Porizkova now says that contestants competing on Banks’s show need a big dose of reality.

“[They're] living in a Cinderella world and Tyra’s the fairy godmother who can make all your dreams come true,” she says. “But the one guarantee that you will never make it as a model is to go on that show.”

The mom of two, who is married to singer Ric Ocasek, is equally harsh when it comes to fellow model Naomi Campbell.

“I have nothing kind to say about Naomi,” says Porizkova, who intentionally distanced herself from the supermodel supergroup that was once Campbell, Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista. “I was always asked to be bunched in there but I didn’t want to be part of the herd. The only one I really had a problem with, though, was Naomi … When she was starting out, she was the most obsequious ass-kisser there was, and two years later, she was like, ‘I don’t know your name.’”

But Campbell isn’t the only famous face who gets a tongue lashing from Porizkova. She’s also lashing out at stars like Nicole Kidman and Madonna for seemingly altering their appearance with perhaps a bit of filler in their faces.

“Nicole is my pet peeve, I swear,” says Porizkova, who insists she’s had neither a nip nor a tuck. “She and Madonna used to be so gorgeous and sexy.”

And don’t even get her started on supermodel Janice Dickinson. “She was one of the most beautiful girls you’ve ever seen in your whole life,” says Porizkova. “Now she looks like a transvestite.”

Porizkova is slightly kinder when discussing current catwalk queen Gisele Bündchen, though she believes the Brazilian bombshell’s days are numbered now that she’s made motherhood a priority over modeling.

“Gisele,” Porizkova declares, “is already a goner.”

I don’t know about her Gisele comments – it seems like Gisele is still very much in demand for ad campaigns and magazine shoots, and that Gisele’s modeling career will probably last at least five more years, a lifetime in the modeling world. Of course, Gisele has been very smart, and she’s already diversifying her “brand” – I see Gisele going the way of Christie Turlington and Cindy Crawford, finding relevance in other things while still doing the occasional modeling gig. But everything else Paulina says, I totally cosign. Nicole Kidman? Tragedy. Janice? Hot tranny mess. Naomi? Phony to the core. Give us more, Paulina!

Call me crazy, but I love some Paulina Porizkova! She’s one of my favorites from the ‘80s. I always enjoyed her as a model, and as a rock star girlfriend/wife (to Ric Ocasek, they’ve been married for 20 years). But I really grew to appreciate her so much more when she became the truth-telling bitch who slammed Tyra Banks after Paulina was dumped from America’s Next Top Model. Tyra and Paulina got into something of a verbal dispute after Paulina’s dismissal, and Paulina came out the victor, just for being awesome and calling Tyra out on her bullsh-t (recap here).

Anyway, Paulina still writes and blogs and keeps it real. She wrote a blog post for the website Modelinia, and she took to task some of the most recent plastic surgery “victims” in celebrity-ville today:

Supermodel Paulina Porizkova calls Heidi Montag a “cheap plastic pool float” and has harsh words for fellow plastic surgery patients Madonna and Kate Hudson as well.

In a blog post for Modelinia.com, Porizkova writes: “Madonna no longer looks like Madonna: what started as a sexy, well-shaped, and somewhat hairy Italian girl has ended as a cool Nordic blonde . . . she is starting to sort of melt away into the stew of the famous women over-fifty-high-cheek- boned blondes-who-cannot-frown.”

As for Hudson, who’s rumored to have recently gained breast implants: “She just looks like any California blond actress. Instead of enhancing, she has diminished herself.”

I cosign the sh-t about Madonna and Heidi, obviously. I don’t care how much money Madonna has, or how many hit records, young boyfriends, or fancy estates she has, Madonna has ruined herself with her sketchy plastic surgery. It looks painful, it looks horrible, and it made Madonna seem so fragile, so uncool, so desperate to retain whatever youth she might have been clinging to. As for Heidi Montag, that sh-t’s a lost cause, but “cheap plastic float” sums it up well. The only one I slightly disagree with is Kate Hudson. CB and I were taking about Kate’s new boobs, and we both agreed that if we were as flat as she was, and we had the money and time to get it done, we probably would have gotten implants too. So, no judgment on that part. As far as the assessment of “She just looks like any California blond actress”… um, that’s always been the case! With or without implants, Kate has always been just another blonde.

All the real drama is going on behind the scenes at America’s Next Top Model. Of course it is… did anyone suspect anything else? After Paulina Porikova was fired – by phone - from being a judge on ANTM, there’s been a catty war of words between Paulina and Tyra. First, Tyra’s people were trying to make it clear that Paulina was not fired for anything to do with her personality or attitude. Tyra claimed that the economy is bad (it is) and ANTM is facing a limited budget these days (which might be true). Thus, some of the “fat” had to be trimmed from the shows production costs. Like, say, Paulina’s fat contract.

Apparently Paulina doesn’t have any confidentiality agreement, or she doesn’t care if it’s enforced, because both Star and the National Enquirer have some funny quotes from Paulina. Star reports that Paulina is saying she was fired because the producers told her she had an “ego problem”. If that came from Tyra, that’s the funniest thing in the world:

Last week the America’s Next Top Model judge announced she was leaving the mannequin competition after one of the producers told her she has an “ego problem,” but a rep for the show says it’s all about the Benjamins.

Earlier today Top Model executive producers Tyra Banks and Ken Mok issued a statement saying Paulina wasn’t fired because of her ‘tude.

“The current state of the economy has forced shows to make major budget cuts industry wide,” the statement reads. “America’s Next Top Model is not immune to these financially challenging times. We’ve had to make significant cuts in every area of the production and, unfortunately, Paulina was a casualty of these cuts. Tyra, who pursued Paulina to join the show as a judge multiple times, was incredibly saddened by the decision the show was forced to make. We really enjoyed working with Paulina, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”

This story differs from the one Paulina is spinning.

“The reason I was told I was fired was because, it seemed that America’s Next Top Model has gotten too fat and they needed to cut some fat and the fat was me,” Paulina told The Late, Late Show’s Craig Ferguson. “So I figured it was either that or my gigantic huge ego. Which I wasn’t aware of until I was told by the producers that I have an ego problem.”

The National Enquirer’s version of events is just as funny. Paulina says that if ANTM’s producers are really concerned about money, perhaps they should make sure Tyra shows up on time. Paulina claims that one of the biggest financial wastes of ANTM is the thousands of dollars the crew is paid to wait around for none other than Tyra Banks. Is it too old-school to say “Oh, snap!”?

Porizkova, the Czech born beauty was recently let go as a judge for the reality contest after a year on the skein. Paula alleged she was pink slipped for an “ego problem” with Tyra..

But Banks and show runner Ken Mok said “We’ve had to make significant cuts in every area of the production (because of the economy) and unfortunately Paulina was a casualty of these cuts.”

But Paula doesn’t buy that line – countering the producers could have saved moolah if Tyra wasn’t tardy!

“I shouldn’t say this because this sounds bitter, but if Tyra came in on time, they would save somebody’s salary,” Paula said. “If she actually showed up on time for the judgings and they didn’t have to pay a lot of overtime, they would save a lot of money.”

Ladies, we suggest you settle this by stepping into the ring for a pay-per-view catfight.

Paulina came in after Janice Dickinson and Twiggy, and by far Paulina has been my favorite of the old-school model-judges. She’s funny, and she’s mean when she needs to be. ANTM contines to be a ratings success, and advertisers still support the show. So crying poverty doesn’t really make much sense for the producers. Also, Tyra is one of the executive producers on ANTM, and I suspect Paulina’s firing may have had more to do with a clash of personalities than with finances. Most likely, Tyra pulled rank on Paulina for several reasons, of which we’ve only gotten a glimpse of.

Craig announced Poizkova in conjunction with the season finale of ANTM to air the following night, but the conversation soon took a turn for the negative. Craig asked her what it’s like working with Tyra Banks and then it got awkward. “Tyra could be a barrel of laughs,” Craig opened. Paulina responded “Yeah, I’m sure she can.” Burn.

Talking to Craig Ferguson Tuesday night, the supermodel said she’d been pink slipped from the CW reality show hosted by Tyra Banks, on which she has been a judge.

“Listen, do you know why I am in Los Angeles? Because I am looking for a job, because I was fired by ‘America’s Next Top Model’ on my birthday,” Paulina told Craig.

“The reason I was told I was fired was because, it seemed that ‘America’s Next Top Model’ has gotten too fat and they needed to cut some fat and the fat was me,” Paulina recounted. “So I figured it was either that or my gigantic huge ego. Which I wasn’t aware of before I was told by the producers that I have an ego problem.”

Craig suggested that the firing is due to a rivalry, which Paulina deniesed because she says she was working for and not with Tyra. But I’m inclined to believe that he’s exactly right. Janice Dickinson, who essentially had Paulina’s spot on the show when ANTM was still new, claims that she too was fired from ANTM because Tyra was jealous of her and the attention she was getting. She also said that Tyra “is no walk in the park.”

Paulina is no Janice – she’s not nasty or crazy or an attention-seeker. However, she’s smarter and funnier than her boss, and I’m sure Tyra found that intimidating. Tyra’s star is fading. For a while, she was being hailed as the next Oprah, but her gimmicks have quickly grown stale and no one’s really paying attention – at least not in the media. If there’s one thing Tyra wants, it’s attention, and she’s not going to let any other supermodel take the spotlight away from her.
