Peaches Geldof in new ads for Ultimo lingerie

peaches2
Peaches Geldof, the recently-separated daughter of philanthropist Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates, appears in new ads for Ultimo lingerie. The 20 year-old is seen in a diner setting with smeared caked-on eye makeup and white stacked heels as she models the printed bras and panties, her many tattoos visible:

Peaches, the It girl who has tried her hand at designing clothes and being a magazine columnist, is believed to have signed a six-figure sum.

‘Dad hasn’t seen the pictures yet,’ says Peaches. ‘But I’m not worried about his reaction because I’m a 20-year-old woman not a 13-year-old girl. I’m glad I can earn money like this.’

The company’s boss Michelle Mone is believed to have quickly snapped up the socialite after seeing topless beach pictures of her in the News Of the World.

She said: ‘Peaches was the perfect choice for this campaign. She’s young, edgy with lashings of style.’

Peaches added: ‘I’d rather young girls were looking at a normal body like mine rather than an anorexic model.’

[From The Daily Mail]

I’ve read interviews with Peaches and she seems like a twit to me, but she does have a great body and it’s nice to see a woman in underwear ads with some natural curves. Maybe she has a future in modeling. She’s certainly not known for saying or writing anything worthwhile, so perhaps it’s best if she sticks to looking cute. If Peaches wasn’t semi-famous there’s no way she would be getting six figure modeling deals, though.

Peaches Geldof: Michael Jackson stroked me

Peaches Geldof has decided that there’s just too much focus on her controversial quickie marriage and divorce, perhaps it’s time for a new scandal? Like going on national television and declaring ‘I’ve been stroked by Michael Jackson’ on the eve of his comeback.

She said: “I was eight years old. I was at Disneyland with Pappy Geldof and the family.

“Michael Jackson was there doing some sort of promotional thing. He invited a load of kids who were staying in the Disney hotel to come meet him.”

Peaches said the Thriller singer, 50, right, was in a room sat on a throne, surrounded by Disney characters. She said: “He was sitting on a huge throne at the end of the hall, flanked by Mickey and Goofy.

“The image is burned in my mind of him there, just like ‘come closer’.

“I went and I sat on his lap and then he proceeded to stroke me and whisper in my ear a little bit.

“I’ve got photos to prove it. I’ve been stroked by Michael Jackson.”

While saying this, Peaches stroked her cheek, to indicate where she was touched. The story doesn’t strike me as being completely odd, I cuddle my friends children all the time, although I wouldn’t do it to a stranger’s child. Some might suggest (including the other presenters on the Celebrity Juice show) that this is weird behavior, but I think they’re being unfair. No one suggests that Britney is a molester when she visits a hospital for publicity, but Michael Jackson gets quite a bit of attention every time he goes near a child. Peaches says he was meeting the children for a publicity stunt. Admittedly the man does have an acknowledged strange relationship with children, I think the jury is still out on any kind of criminal convictions. Clearly he doesn’t have a firm grasp of social norms, but I think it was a low shot for Peaches to use this story for cheap laughs. Then again, like Michael Jackson, she seems to have a loose grasp of social norms too.

In related news, Michael Jackson has sold out 27 shows at London’s O2 Arena, with another 3 planned. That’s 660,000 tickets if they all go ahead. Not bad for a ‘washed up’ pop star.

Peaches Geldof’s marriage is over after six months

peaches_seperation_03_wenn2
Peaches Geldof, the 19 year-old daughter of musician philanthropist Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates, got married last August in a quickie Vegas ceremony to American musician Max Drummey, 24, of the band Chester French. Peaches later said she didn’t expect her marriage to last, considering the divorce rate and all, but then tried to take that back like she was just talking statistics and not about her relationship in particular. There was a story in November that Peaches and Max were getting a divorce, which Peaches claimed was completely fabricated. Now Peaches really is getting a divorce, and has put out a statement that she and Max are separated. She is thought to be dating another musician, with whom she spent New Year’s Eve.

In a joint statement issued by Peaches’ spokesman, the couple said: ‘After much soul searching we have made the mutual decision to end our marriage and have agreed to go our separate ways.

‘Our parting is amicable and both of us still respect and care about each other immensely. There were no other people involved in this decision and we both look forward to a future as good friends.’

Peaches eloped to Vegas and married Drummey, a musician in the band Chester French, in August, weeks after meeting him. At the time she dumped her long-term boyfriend, Faris Badwin, a 21-year-old musician in the band The Horrors.

But in November it was reported that Peaches, who is trying to forge a career as a writer in America, had told Drummey after a series of rows that the relationship was over.

Peaches admitted they were having problems and had ‘said things in the heat of the moment’, but denied they were separating.

However, in recent months Peaches, who moved from London to New York where she writes for a magazine called Nylon, has been living in a Greenwich Village apartment with a girlfriend.

Sources said Peaches’ continued close friendship with ex-boyfriend Badwin and a growing closeness with New York-based musician Donald Cumming contributed to the breakdown of her marriage.

Peaches spent New Year’s Eve in Miami with Cumming, who plays in indie rock band The Virgins. They were also spotted at a nightclub before Christmas and their friendship was said to have infuriated her husband.

[From The Daily Mail]

I re-read an interview Peaches gave Hello! earlier this year and she sounded incredibly naive about love and relationships. The reasons she gave for getting married were the foolish kind of “falling in love” incidents that most new couples have, like staying up all night talking. She also justified her marriage as striking out on her own for the first time. Here’s how she told Hello she explained her rash decision to her father:

“Right after we got married I called my father, who said what I’d done was a really intense thing. And I said, ‘Yes, but it’s as though I have always had to be someone to everyone and this is the first time I can be myself. I can just sit in the van with this guy and talk and talk to him about everything… my whole life. And he won’t judge me. I don’t know if I’ll find that again.’ My father said, ‘If you really feel that way, then I am so, so happy for you.’”

[From Hello! Magazine, print edition, January 6, 2009]

I also found it incredibly amusing the way that Peaches described how they decided to get married. She justified it by talking about how intelligent they both were. She seemed to say this with no sense of irony whatsoever:

We were in a hotel room in LA talking about going back to London and he said, ‘When you go back, it would be as if this has been a dream. And all it will be is some memory that you’ll have that will stay with you. But for me, it will be the one that got away, and I don’t want you to go. Let’s get married.’ I said ‘That’s crazy.’ And he said ‘I really love you,” and I told him I loved him too. We did it for no ulterior reason other than we loved each other. Other people thought it was attention seeking or a publicity thing. But I am intelligent and I wouldn’t do something like that. Nor would he. He is a Harvard graduate.

[From Hello! Magazine, print edition, January 6, 2009]

Isn’t that last line priceless?

Peaches lives in New York and works as a columnist for Nylon Magazine, where her self-absorbed articles have received quite a bit of negative feedback.

Peaches Geldof is seeking a divorce

Peaches Geldof recently suggested her quickie Vegas marriage might be headed for divorce, because she knows, as a child of divorce, that marriages don’t always last. Turns out that while Peaches knew that she loved Max Drummey of band Chester French, and would for a ‘long time’, a long time is somewhere around 100 days.

A pal of Peaches, 19, told us: “She realised it was all a mistake – and her dad Sir Bob is delighted.”

Sir Bob’s troubled daughter has sensationally dumped Max Drummey following a series of bitter rows at their New York home.

And only three months after the wedding she’s told pals: “It’s over. I just don’t fancy him any more.”
Drug user Peaches plans to return to England this week to thrash out divorce proceedings with her lawyers.

News of the World

My husband has a most disgusting stomach flu today, I just don’t fancy him myself. Could I divorce him now and avoid having to spend a day making sympathetic noises about his illness?

News of the World suggests that Peaches got married as a way to deal with her drug problems.

She suffered a drug overdose in July. “Her drug use had been exposed in public and she wanted a new life,” said our source. “She saw Max and New York as her way to escape.”

Just three weeks ago Peaches unashamedly admitted that she didn’t expect her marriage to last the course. She confessed: “I didn’t go into it with Max thinking, ‘This is going to last forever’. But I did go in thinking, ‘I love him right now and I know I will continue to love him for a long while’.”

Peaches cancelled a public appearance to launch a clothes range in London on Wednesday. Publicly she claimed she had flu but in reality she was in New York dumping Max.

The pal added: “This week has been the final straw. Max hoped Peaches would give things another go, but she was determined. Her father is relieved that she is not unhappy in a relationship anymore, but is still very concerned about her alarming behaviour.”

Astonished fans saw the first cracks in Max and Peaches’ love affair at their last public appearance together.

Socialite Peaches launched a tirade against her hubby on stage at his band’s gig in New York late last month. The upset musician blubbed on his mum’s shoulder.

News of the World

I have heard no evidence of Peaches’ alleged ‘tirade’ against her beloved husband, so suspect it didn’t happen. I also suspect that most musicians would be more likely to blub into a bottle of vodka than into their mother’s shoulder.

A spokesperson says that Peaches and Max ‘have their ups and downs like any couple.’ It’s a bad sign when a spokeperson doesn’t make an out and out denial of a relationship ending, so I guess we can expect to see little Peaches going in hard for an annullment soon. Despite not having a real job, as far as I can tell, her wealth is predicted at being aorund $600,000 a year, whih Max is entitled to a share of. Unless the Little White Wedding Chapel also has a Little White Marital Pre-nup available.

Note by Celebitchy: The Sun says that Peaches and Max are now at an undisclosed location in America “trying to save their marriage.” Peaches lives in NY City.

Peaches Geldof predicts her quickie Vegas marriage will end in divorce

Peaches Geldof has admitted that she did rush into marriage and predicts that her union will probably end in divorce. Is she possibly trying to soften us for an announcement? Did anyone predict that the 19-year-old’s Vegas union with her boyfriend of a month wouldn’t last?

She told Heat magazine: ‘You can’t ignore divorce rates. Every friend of mine has parents who are now divorced.

‘I didn’t go into it with Max thinking, ‘This is going to last forever’, but I did go into it thinking, ‘I love him right now and I know that I will continue to love him for a long while.’

The London party girl did not tell her protective father what she had done until after the wedding and confirmed that he didn’t approve of her decision to become a teenage bride.

She confessed: ‘He said, ‘Well, I think it’s a really intense thing to do and, in my opinion, as your father, I think it’s a bit silly because you’re very young.

‘But, at the same time, I’m happy for you, and if you love him, that’s a really good thing.’

Daily Mail

I’m not sure what peaches calls a long time – in the context of her 4 month relationship, the three months she’s been married is quite a long time. In a geological timeframe, not very long. However, at 19 it seemed absolutely impossible for me to wait six months for a new season of Buffy to come out, so I’m guessing that a long while is about 3 years, tops.

Peaches also explains how she came about the decision to get married, which at least sounds like fun, in a Britney-goes-to-Vegas kind of way.

Miss Geldof claimed the wedding was her 23-year-old husband’s idea: ‘He said to me, ‘I don’t want you to go back to London. I don’t want to lose this bond with you. I don’t want you to be taken away from me.

‘Why don’t we just take a trip to Vegas and do something like get married?’ I was like, ‘Hell yeah!’

‘I thought, ‘I’m 19 years old, this is amazing and a little bit nuts, but I’ve fallen in love with him, so why not?’

Daily Mail

Many people do get married at 19 and it lasts. Peaches has already been to rehab, lost her mother, travelled the world and has a career. She’s clearly not your average teenager. Or maybe this union just proves that she is.

While looking for photos I found these pictures of a barefoot unknown girl walking to Drummey’s car in the morning on 8/16/08. Max then was spotted loading cases into his car. He was with a friend so it could have been the other guy’s girlfriend/date, but the photo agency was suggesting he may have been cheating. This was after he married Peaches, but they’ve since been seen out together. Credit for those maybe-cheating photos: Bauergriffinonline. Peaches Geldof home after Vegas wedding; husband nowhere to be seen

Peaches Geldof, daughter of rocker/humanitarian Bob Geldof, made some waves last week when she married her boyfriend of four weeks in Las Vegas. The 19-year-old train wreck, who has been in the news for a drug overdose and other wild behavior, wed American musician Max Drummey of the band Chester French in a last-minute ceremony at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. Sources say she called her father to get his blessing two hours before the impromptu wedding. Now, Peaches is back home in the U.K. – without her husband.

Peaches Geldof was beginning married life in London today separated from the husband she has known for just four weeks.

The 19-year-old daughter of Bob Geldof flew back alone from her shock ‘quickie’ wedding in a Las Vegas chapel to Max Drummey, a little-known American musician.

The 15-minute ceremony last week had only one witness and Peaches is reported to have told her father only two hours beforehand.

There is mounting speculation the wedding was a stunt to promote Drummey’s band Chester French, who are about to release an album and are currently touring America.

The newlyweds released a statement through Peaches’ agent last night confirming they had wed and that their marriage had the full support of family and friends. But it was laced with references to Drummey’s music deals, prompting the suggestion the marriage was being used to enhance his career.

The statement said: ‘Peaches and Max Drummey are delighted to announce their marriage. The couple tied the knot in a simple low-key ceremony in Las Vegas last week.

‘Peaches first met Max two years ago. Max’s band, Chester French, played at the ITV iTunes festival, where Peaches was co-host.

The acclaimed Boston band were signed by Pharrell Williams to his label Star Trak. Their marriage has the support of family and friends’

Peaches has reportedly been a fan of Drummey and his band for a couple of years. But it is understood they began a romance after meeting last month at the iTunes Festival.

[From the Daily Mail]

It sure does sound like a publicity stunt- or at the very least, a cry for attention, like Britney Spears’ quickie marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander after her breakup with Justin Timberlake. Between the drug use and this, I’m sure her dad’s blood pressure is through the roof right about now. But Peaches is 19 and legally an adult- she will be the one to deal with the consequences here. I predict this girl is heading for a major disaster.

Picture note by Celebitchy: Peaches Geldof is shown outside Maddox Nightclub on 7/3/08. I’m pretty sure that’s the guy she married because he looks like the same one on D-Listed’s article about her wedding. That pap is pretty rude to be grabbing her arm like that.
