Quick question: apart from some brief period in the mid to late 80s when Desperately Seeking Susan was still de rigueur, have you ever worn socks with heels that weren’t booties? I’m not talking about knee high hose, tights, socks that could pass as hose under slacks, or thin socks on laundry day when you needed to dress up and forgot about it, I’m talking legit socks with pumps. You’ve never done that, right? Only Sarah Jessica Parker is trying to make it happen – allegedly! She’s said to be designing socks to be worn with heels. Since she is the next Rob Kardashian.

The 47 year-old “Sex and the City” star started a trend when she wore the quirky combo on the hit HBO show back in the 90s. Now she’s determined to revive the fad with her own line of stylish socks, but pals predict it will be a bust.

“Sarah might have been one of the most imitated and admired style icons 10 years ago, but that’s not the case anymore,” an insider tells The Enquirer.

“And this socks-with-heels obsession will only damage what fashion credibility she has left…”

“Now she wants to make one more push to see if she can turn it into a craze,” said the source.

“She’s already designing her own line of socks, and she’s even got her 3-year-old twin girls Tabitha and Loretta helping. It’s great for mommy-daughter bonding, but Sarah really needs to put this sock business to rest.”

I didn’t think this was a trend at all, but I went to google it and one of the suggested search phrases was “socks with heels trend.” That lead me to an article in Elle from last November: “Shop the Trend: Socks With Heels.” The trend was from the runway and apart from some pumps with lacy socks (from Dolce & Gabbana) all of the shoes were clunky heels, wedges or booties, so I can see how this might look cute if you had the right shoe for it. I doubt that people would buy socks specifically designed to wear with heels though, it’s just too small a market.

Let’s face it, judging from Sarah Jessica Parker’s interpretation of this trend this isn’t going to catch on. Those are some fug sandals with socks. Her character on SATC may have been a fashionista, but the real SJP is not. I have to say her daughters are adorable though! They’re growing up so fast.

Before Tiger Woods started PR-dating Lindsey Vonn she was involved with another athlete that you’ve heard plenty of things about. You’ll never guess who. Well you probably know already since this news came out yesterday, but when you heard it you were surprised, weren’t you? Lindsey was dating Kris Humphries. Because apparently she can’t Google or get online at all, doesn’t watch tv, and has no idea what’s going on in pop culture.

Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn and Kim Kardashian’s estranged husband Kris Humphries are certainly the proof of that!

While Tiger, 37, and Lindsey recently went public with their new romance, what they didn’t tell anyone is that Lindsey chose Tiger over Humphries.

That’s the latest revelation in the headline-making relationship of the sex-addict golfer and top skier, with the new issue of Us Weekly revealing that Humphries was very much in the picture when Tiger came along.

“Woods wasn’t Vonn’s only suitor,” the mag says. “Bachelor No. 2 was none other than Kim Kardashian ex Kris Humphries.”

As the mag points out, Vonn and Humphries are both from Minnesota and have a lot in common. But ultimately, Vonn chose Tiger, who has reclaimed his position as the No. 1 golfer in the world.

Olympic-skier Vonn, 28, was warned about the perils of getting involved with the golfer, but her love of danger and animal attraction to Tiger had drawn them to be friends over recent months, with the most controversial couple in sports officially announcing they are dating on March 18.

Woods now seems to be back on his game both on the course and in his personal life when after a two year slump he celebrated a victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Florida this past Monday to reclaim his title as the world number one golfer.

Despite Tiger and Lindsey’s obvious happiness as they beam lovingly together from a series of engagement-style photos, Vonn’s fans are concerned that their idol is going to get hurt just like ex-wife Elin Nordegren did.

“He is probably cheating on you right now,” one angry Facebook follower messaged the blonde Minnesota native, according to Us Weekly.

I’m probably wrong, she could know all about these guys and get off on dating them, which must be a kind of sickness. Don’t you know someone like that, a woman whose type is “douche”? (“He’s not like that, you have the wrong idea about him!”) Well is it a step up, to go from Kris Humphries to Tiger Woods? It is, monetarily and fame-wise. STD wise it’s a danker cesspool, but otherwise she traded up. Tiger Woods is a catch – when you compare his stats to Kris Humphries, and you know Lindsey did the easy math. A billion > millions.

I’m not sure this is true, though, doesn’t Kris Humphries have a “type”? He likes the Kim Kardashian type, that crazy hotel employee girl he dated, the one who kept feeding stories to TMZ and tried to claim she was pregnant with Kris’ baby at one point, looked just like Kim. But like Tiger, Kris’ type is probably over 18, easy access and with a pulse, although the over 18 part is up to question with Tiger.

Gossip Cop got a denial to this story from an unnamed source, and they also have more details from Star’s report, including the fact that Lindsey was hooking up with Kris at the same time she was “dating” Tiger. Star’s source claimed Lindsey has been “hooking up with Kris for the last eight months, even after Tiger was in the picture.” Well Tiger was allegedly trying to reconcile with his ex-wife that whole time, and only went public with this new romance when talks failed with Elin. So it’s not like he was “exclusive” to Lindsey either. Snort.

Michelle and Jim-Bob Duggar have more kids in their household than my son has in his public school classroom, but they’re ready to welcome more. Michelle suffered a tragic miscarriage in December of 2011 with what would have been her 20th child. The family has been open about the fact that the loss was devastating to them and that they’re actively trying for more. After a recent trip to an orphanage in China, they admitted that they’re considering adoption and that their children are the ones pushing for it! They want to make sure it’s God’s plan for them, though, and it say that they’re praying on it.

They have 19 children, two grandchildren and one more on the way, but Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar say that doesn’t necessarily mean their family is complete.

“We are open to the idea of adoption,” Michelle, 45, tells PEOPLE. “We are praying about it, and we will see what God has in store. Love for children has been placed on our hearts.”

The ever-expanding crew – eldest son Josh, 25, and his wife, Anna, 24, just recently announced they are expecting their third child in June – were moved by a visit to an orphanage in China on their recent trip there.

The visit to Beijing was filmed for TLC’s special 19 Kids & Counting: Duggars Do Asia, which airs Tuesday (9 p.m. ET) on TLC.

“The kids are definitely pushing towards wanting us to open our home up to another child or more,” says Michelle. “They see how much we have been blessed with and how little so many children have and they want to share. We tell our children that would have to be something that is God’s will for our family, and we will see if it is. Our children love children, and we all do.”

Though Michelle and Jim Bob, 45, lost their last pregnancy – a girl they named Jubilee – to miscarriage in 2011, Michelle says, “We are open to whatever is in store. It doesn’t really matter whether I would have another child or we would adopt, but we want to approach it with an open heart.”

She adds, “We have friends that have adopted children who are a great influence in our lives, and we have talked about their experiences. So it’s something we’ve considered. We have to know for sure that is what God wants for us to do.”

“When he gives us a child [through pregnancy], there is no doubt in our minds that is what He wants, but when it comes to adoption, we would have to know for sure that was His will.”

I don’t get that last statement, about how they somehow know that God wanted them to have a specific child because they conceived when they were actively trying to have another baby. It doesn’t make sense to me at all as it doesn’t account for free will.

I just checked, and they currently have eight children under 12, seven teenagers, and three daughters 20 and older. (Their oldest son has moved out, is married, and is expecting his third child.) So if they adopt at all, their kids are going to be the ones raising the adopted children. That’s how it works in their family, and they have good system worked out, one that may not be fair to their daughters, but they run a tight household. They’re also a very loving family, and while I can’t imagine living like that, I’ve been impressed with how chill and orderly they are. So I don’t hate this idea, is what I’m saying. It sounds insane to those of us who struggle to raise less than a handful of children, but if they adopt kids that would otherwise not find homes they might be doing them a service. I hope that God tells them to take a break, though. Put a fork in it, Duggars!

These are photos of on-again couple, Hayden Panettiere, 23, and her huge boxing champ on-again boyfriend, Wladimir Klitschko, 37, at a Miami Heat game over the weekend. I know that other people don’t share my obsession with this guy, that’s fine, more for me, but if you ever lived in Germany you would understand. Wladimir and his brother, Vitali, are huge celebrities in Germany, and they’re practically national heroes. They’re Ukranian heavyweight boxers who grew up in Germany. Wladimir holds a bunch of heavyweight titles while Vitali holds the WBC title. (They vowed to their mom that they would never fight each other, a promise they’ve kept throughout their careers.) The brothers are not dumb jocks by any means, they both speak several languages, and both have doctorates in sports science. Oh and they’re involved in charity of course and both do work for UNESCO. Only Wladimir is single, Vitali has been married since 1996. So Wladimir is a catch.

I’m overselling this, but you get my point! Hayden and this gorgeous specimen broke up in May, 2011 after about two years of dating and I was like “good” because I didn’t like her at that point. Then she downgraded to football player Mark Sanchez, and after that she majorly downgraded to football player Scotty McNight, but they broke up in December of last year.

Anyway these two have been back together since about January, and I picture Hayden texting Wladimir after her last split and the two of them rekindling their romance. Unlike the last time they were together, I kind of like her now. I watch “Nashville” and she’s a decent little actress. (The show comes back tomorrow night, yay!) I say “little” because she’s just 5’2″ tall while Wladimir is 6’6″!

I want them to have babies together, but how would that work? It’s like when a Great Dane and a Chihuahua breed. If you’re interested in the mechanics of their sex life, Hayden has some words for you, which she dropped right before she split up with Wladimir the first time. She’s not going to make that mistake again, the lucky bitch. I can’t hate her though, they’re cute together. (Disregard his stupid backwards cap, don’t judge him on that! These photos do not do him justice.) Also, she’s wearing his watch, I kind of love that.

These are photos of Matt Damon and George Clooney on the set of The Monuments Men in Berlin, Germany. This is an unfair matchup for me to suggest, because when I first saw these photos of Matt Damon in a retro WWII uniform it’s like the heavens opened up and I heard angels singing. I freaking love Matt Damon, and I love a guy in uniform, and the two together is better than any gourmet chocolate and pretzel combination in the world.

Is it just me, or does every red-blooded woman do a double take when she sees a guy in uniform? I can’t help it, it’s like an ingrained response. I think I’m smooth about it, but the cops and the soldiers probably know. So it’s nice to be able to ogle at Damon from the privacy of my computer screen.

The Monuments Men is directed by Clooney and is about the recovery of stolen art by the Nazis. It’s coming out in mid-December, just in time to be considered for awards season next year. It surprises me that they’ll be able to push this film out in another eight or nine months, they must be really hustling to shoot scenes.

This is also an unfair matchup because it looks like Damon is in character as a hot soldier type while Clooney is just being a director who also has to look schlumpy for his character. Clooney looks bad with that greasy grey hair and grey mustache, but it’s somewhat passing for his “normal” look (it’s not!) since he’s wearing a modern civilian coat. So it’s a double whammy for him. Poor Clooney, having to console himself with a statuesque blonde and shots of high end tequila. I’d be up for that, I’d just rather be up for it with Damon.

I was surprised at how many people cared about Friday’s story, from the National Enquirer, that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were rumored to be fighting at a post-Oscar party. It seemed like an obvious scenario to me – Ben said his marriage was work during one of the most important, most public moments of his life, his Academy Award acceptance speech. Most people would have some choice words for their partner in that same situation, so it just seemed natural to me that Jen would have asked Ben what the hell he was thinking in that moment. Some of you disagreed and thought it was just Ben being honest. Marriages are work from most people’s perspective. I get that, but an Oscar speech is the time to gush about your marriage, you can call it work during a sit-down print interview.

The Enquirer then heaped on a bunch of other rumors about those two – that they’re fighting because Ben wants more another baby and Jen is done, and that Ben is rumored to have cheated with Blake Lively while they were making The Town. (We didn’t even include that segment, it was just a line or two toward the end of the article. I think Ben just had a kind of “emotional” affair with Blake, but who knows? They were very chummy in interviews.) We do know that Ben consistently praised other women during his Oscar press tour, and seemed much more reserved and almost passive aggressive in some of the things he said about his wife.

The two stepped out together on Saturday with their daughters at a street fair in Pacific Palisades and were seen kissing and embracing. They’ve only posed together once on the red carpet that I know of, at the VF party after Ben won the Oscar. We’ve seen candid family moments with them, but affectionate moments aren’t that common. I do think they get hounded by the paparazzi and don’t personally call them or anything, but instead of engaging in evasive maneuvers they just kind of go with it, smile and play along. At least Jen does, Ben often looks grumpy and fed up. (And who can blame him? I’m just saying.)

So is this just a spontaneous moment, or is this Ben’s way of playing the game after a negative story came out in the Enquirer? He seems like he pays attention to the tabloid press and actively tries to counter stories that come out without issuing direct denials. That could be part of the reason he said his marriage was “work,” he thought that everyone was talking about it, he may as well address it. Except all he did was add more fuel to the gossip fire. That said, these photos are really cute and they look solid. Even if Ben is just trying to counter negative stories, at least he’s trying.

Here are some final fashion photos from the Kids Choice Awards Saturday night. (Kaiser and Bedhead have some earlier coverage.) It’s a very fun end to a protracted awards season, and included a heavy-duty sliming of Sandra Bullock and Neil Patrick Harris. A list of winners is here.

First off we have Jessica Alba in a Mary Katrantzou A-line white cap sleeve dress with a blue, teal and pink line design. (Our friends at Red Carpet Fashion Awards have the link to the dress on Net-a-Porter. It’s $4k! It’s doubtful Alba paid a dime for it of course.) It’s a very event-appropriate, cute look for her. Some may think that the curlicue design is too precious, but I love this look. Her hair and makeup are so well done too. One complaint: her shoes are too cutesy. (I have an aversion to bows on shoes, it doesn’t matter if they’re Louboutins.) Some plain pumps or strappy heels would have looked more elegant.

Here are Jaden and Willow Smith looking cute but serious. Can you believe they’re just 14 and 12? They’re both stars now and they’re used to red carpets. I love Willow’s little crop jean jacket, and I like how she paired combat boots with a dress! I used to do that in the late 80s, but my combat boots were from the military supply store, not Chanel. Jaden is dressing like Justin Bieber and I’ll leave it at that.

Here’s Kylie Jenner, whom Jaden was seen out with in London earlier this month. Her sister Kendall didn’t show up, (or least wasn’t on the red carpet that I can find) which makes me wonder if she had another engagement or if she just didn’t want to come. She’s said she’s not as into fame so she may be avoiding these things. Kylie, 15, is wearing a lot of makeup, but she’s covered up well and she’s even wearing hose. Her hoodie dress is adorable.

Finally Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars is looking super cute in white Christian Dior. I love this retro look!

Whenever I see Grumpy Cat, aka Tardar Sauce, I just want to hug and pet and love her. She’s freaking adorable, especially in motion. Of course she looks like a sourpuss in still photos, which explains her astronomic rise to fame after her owners posted a photo of her to reddit back in September. Grumpy is an 11 month-old mixed breed who has feline dwarfism. She’s launched countless memes in which she mocks and dismisses anything that people can come up with. In reality Grumpy Cat is a very docile, sweet cat who is happy to be held by her owners and fawned over by millions of fans. She’ll sit through interviews, she’ll grace SXSW with her presence, and she’ll even let her owners bring her to Times Square for tourists to paw. That bothered me a little, and I’ll talk about that in a moment.

Tardar made an appearance on Good Morning America today to promote her new collaboration with Friskies. It wasn’t her first morning show appearance – she was on The Today Show last December. During her segment, they showed Grumpy cat accompanying her owners, Arizona based brother and sister, Tabatha and Bryan Bundesen, to Times Square. Grumpy was recognized by quite a few onlookers, who went on to fawn and pet her. This wasn’t unlike her SXSW appearance, where people lined up around the block for her, and it bothered me a little. Her owners have heard those complaints, and insist that she’s a normal cat “99%” of the time. Her website states that “99% of the time she is a normal kitty. She plays, hides, and acts as cats act. (She LOVES to hide behind the curtains!) She isn’t in front of a camera all of the time like many people perceive.”

That’s sweet and I’m sure she’s a very pampered kitty. I’ve probably had about a dozen kitties living with me over my life (not at one time! The most I had at one time was three) with various roommates and boyfriends, and I don’t think I’ve had one that would let you carry her out in public like that. Some were cool about being held, but they were all so headstrong that they would struggle away from you once you were outside or if they didn’t want to be there. Tardar is just a rare combination of frowny cute and very docile.

Here’s Grumpy Cat’s new Friskies web commercial. “Will Kitty Play With It.” She looks kind of scared and like she’s cowering! It makes me feel bad for her. She can’t help her face, and she’s just a very shy cat.

The Enquirer has a new story about Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner that I hope is false. They throw out a bunch of reasons why the two are fighting, and add that they fought at a post Oscar party. They also have a photo of Jennifer whispering something to Ben at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party and Ben looking tense. It’s somewhat similar to the one above, except Ben is clenching his teeth more.

The story goes that Ben is not happy with the three kids he has and wants another boy, while Jennifer feels like she’s done and wants to get back to work. Also, Jennifer allegedly snapped at Ben during a post-Oscar party “what do you mean our marriage is work?” I could see her asking him that, I wondered after the Oscars if she told him off for disrespecting her during his acceptance speech. It’s kind of a no-brainer. (Go here if you’d like to read his comments, I’m assuming you’re familiar with them.) Here’s more, it’s all so overwrought:

But Jennifer… is anxious to get back to work…

The Hollywood power couple came to a stand off over whether to grow their family, said the source. But the lingering resentment could be heard in the hunk’s Academy Award acceptance speech, when he talked about how much work it took to keep his marriage going.

Later, during a post-Oscar party at the Sunset Tower Hotel, the clash seemed to turn ugly.

“Jen grabbed Ben’s arm and read him the riot act,” said the source.

“She hissed, ‘What do you mean, our marriage is work?”

Assuming the “fight” story is accurate, and I’m not sure it’s based on more than that photo, who wouldn’t ask their partner what they hell they meant if they told the whole world their marriage was work? Also, Ben may want more kids but he already has a boy so I’m not sure if he’s pressuring Jen to add another one. He’s said in interviews that it’s up to her. Ben brought all this scrutiny on himself though by calling his relationship work in his acceptance speech. That was a big no-no and he should have known better.

In cuter news, the Garner-Affleck’s youngest daughter, little Seraphina, just got an adorable bob cut. People Magazine has her side-by-side before and after photo. My kid is a boy so I don’t have to worry about hair stuff, but one of my mom friends spends 20 minutes combing through her daughter’s tangles after every bath. I bet this style is easier for everyone.

Also shown: Jennifer Garner out having dinner with friends at Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica on Wednesday night. (3-20-13.) I’m trying to think of something nice to say about her outfit, but maybe it’s just the shoes that are throwing it off.

Right before the news came out that Tiger Wood was dating professional skier Lindsey Vonn, there were rumors that he was trying to work out a reconciliation with his very publicly humiliated ex-wife, Elin Nordegren. A lot of people dismissed those stories as false, but the Enquirer is either doubling down on their original story or they were on to something. They now report that Tiger was trying to get back with Elin, but when their prenup negotiations went south and Elin told him she didn’t want more kids, he gave up on her and decided to get serious with Lindsey, since he had her on the back burner the whole time. (Her and probably a dozen others.) Meanwhile Elin is dating a billionaire now, so if this story is true she must feel relieved that she didn’t fall for Tiger’s BS again. He probably knows just how to play her. Here’s the Enquirer’s report, oh and Tiger also wants babies with Lindsey. Of course he does.

That’s the big secret behind Tiger’s surprise announcement about his romance with the sexy alpine skiier after spending months trying to iron out a pricey prenup deal with Elin.

“Tiger felt that if he reunited with Elin, he could get back on top – both personally and professionally,” a source revealed.

“But he wants more children, and Elin doesn’t – it’s that simple. When their reunion discussions broke down, Tiger decided to let the world know that he’s dating Lindsey.”

This whole situation is a mess and I don’t doubt it. The reconciliation story seems too crazy for the Enquirer to have fabricated it, but I could be wrong. I imagine that Elin is this strong Scandinavian mom type, but the truth is we know hardly anything about her. We only read one interview with her, in People Magazine, which was probably orchestrated by publicists. She may have truly loved Tiger and wanted to believe that he’d changed.

In related news, we saw some hilarious couple’s portraits of Tiger and Lindsey earlier this week. Tiger is currently playing in the Arnold Palmer Invitational and he explained in a press conference that the photos were released to avoid the paparazzi. He said “We’re very happy where we’re at, but also we wanted to limit the stalkerazzi and all those sleazy websites that are out there following us. I’ve had situations where it’s been very dangerous for my kids and the extent they’ll go to.” That’s a bogus excuse, in my opinion. We hardly ever see photos of Tiger, not even during the scandal, and he’s no longer a hot commodity in any way. He wanted to take this relationship public for publicity purposes. If the Enquirer is right he probably wanted to stick it to his ex wife as well. “You may have a billionaire boyfriend with a bigger yacht but I’m dating a world class athlete. Nya nya nya nya.”

Update: The NY Post is reporting that Tiger and Lindsey’s relationship is for mutual publicity purposes. Ya don’t say? They report that it’s to satisfy both of their sponsors. Also, The Post confirms The Enquirer’s story that Tiger has been trying to reunite with Elin:

But a source tells us, “Actually it is a match made in marketing heaven. It immediately makes him more sympathetic, and makes Vonn a household name as she reaches a crucial point in her skiing career, the 2014 Winter Olympics. They know the sponsors are watching.”

Following his cheating scandal and 2010 divorce from Elin Nordegren [ photo, opposite page], another source told us, “Tiger had always hoped to win Elin back, so this is an unusual move.”

While Woods and Vonn have clearly spent time together (they’ve been spotted in Florida), we’re told he particularly relished playing the media with his announcement.
