Yesterday, Star Magazine came out with a cover story about the Duchess of Cambridge and the current state of her womb. According to their sources, Kate is pregnant – with twins! A boy and girl. Yeah… it was fishy, but as I said yesterday, if Kate isn’t pregnant already, she will be soon. For now though, we just have to make due with this oddly-worded denial from Buckingham Palace:

Kate Middleton and Prince William aren’t ready to become parents — at least not anytime soon.

Though a tabloid recently claimed the 29-year-old Duchess is pregnant with twins, a palace rep tells Us Weekly that she is not currently expecting any children.

“Suffice to say that were it true, it would be us that announces it, not a gossip magazine,” the couple’s rep tells Us.

That doesn’t mean that William and Kate aren’t looking forward to the day they finally become parents.

“I think we’ll take it one step at a time,” William, 29, said in November. “We’ll sort of get over the marriage thing first, then look at the kids. But obviously, we want a family.”

Let’s parse! “Suffice to say that were it true, it would be us that announces it, not a gossip magazine.” I take that as a half-assed denial. They want to stop the “twins!” speculation nonsense, but they also don’t want to come right out and say “She’s not pregnant… with twins. Try again.” They’re also saying that they’re confirm the pregnancy at a certain point in time, and that denials will flow like wine until that time.

By the way, Kate was spotted this past weekend shopping for “cake supplies”. A source says, “She bought a rather nice cast iron kitchen roll holder, but mainly she was buying baking trays in a few different shapes.” The stories have been trying to make her sound all housewifey, like she just spends her time baking little love cakes for William to celebrate their fairy tale union. But Pippa’s birthday was a few days ago – isn’t it more likely that Kate baked Pippa a cake? If my sister had just married into royalty, I would expect more than a homemade cake, though.

We are now more than four months out from Prince William and Duchess Kate’s wedding. Four long months with no baby announcements! You might find the whole “Is she knocked up yet?” debate to be terribly gauche and peasanty when we’re discussing actual royalty, but as I’ve said many times before: Kate is almost definitely going to get pregnant in the first year of marriage. It’s what’s expected of her, I think William is up for it, and God knows, she doesn’t have anything else going on, royal-duty-wise. Her calendar is free for the next year and a half. So, is Kate already knocked up? Star Magazine says she is – and that she’s expecting twins!

The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby boy AND a baby girl, royal insiders reveal! Kate Middleton, 29, is reportedly pregnant with a little prince and princess, her first children with Prince William!

“William almost collapsed with joy — and relief — when Kate called to tell him she was pregnant,” sources tell Star magazine.

The babies would be the first twins ever born into the British royal family. According to tradition – the little boy would immediately become first in line to the throne — making him king when William dies.

The pregnancy news follows speculation the 29-year-old future Queen was too skinny to conceive.

The couple have also been under intense pressure to create an heir to the throne within the first year of married life!

Royal biographer Christopher Wilson confirms, “Kate was under enormous stress to produce an heir quickly. If she delivers healthy twins, it will be wonderful news — a royal first.”

The couple were told the happy news by doctors exactly 100 days after they married in a spectacular ceremony, in front of the entire world, on April 29.

Since then they’ve been relaxing at their love-nest in rural Wales, where William works as a search and rescue helicopter pilot, and preparing for the big arrival!

A boy and a girl? How lucky would that be? An heir and a spare, in one convenient pregnancy. Yeah… it’s not happening. The twin thing, I mean. I’m sure that Kate is either knocked up already, or she will be soon. But I seriously doubt twinsies. It’s too cute by half, and the tabloids always claim people are having twins.

I hope this is one of those odd times when Star Magazine/Radar has gotten it right – they’re declaring, in an exclusive report this week, that Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan are expecting their first child together. RDJ already has an 18-year-old son, Indio, from his first marriage – and he and Indio are very close. But if this is on with RDJ and Susan, this will be her first child. Previously, Robert has discussed makin’ babies with his wife, and there have been rumors that Susan and Robert have been trying to conceive for more than a year. So… I really hope this is true!

Robert Downey Jr. and his wife of six years are expecting their first child together, Star magazine is exclusively reporting.

The Iron Man star and wife Susan Downey — a film producer — are due in February, and family members say they’re thrilled.

“I think it’s wonderful that she’s pregnant,” Susan’s aunt, Nancy Miller, told Star in an exclusive interview.

“The baby is due in February. Susan’s father, my brother, called me about three weeks ago with the good news. Her parents are over the moon about it.”

Robert, 46, has an 18-year-old son, Indio, from his previous 12-year marriage to actress/singer Deborah Falconer.

“It [doesn’t] really matter if it’s a boy or a girl,” Miller added. “What really matters is that the baby is healthy.”

Robert is currently filming The Avengers with Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner.

RDJ and Susan have been married for… six years? They met in 2003 and they married in 2005. Susan is a powerful producer in her own right, and she’s often credited (partially) with RDJ’s career resurgence when he found sobriety. Susan keeps RDJ sane, and she just seems like a really cool, smart woman, and it seems like Robert worships the ground she walks on. And now they might be expecting! Fingers crossed that it’s a girl.

UPDATE: People Magazine just confirmed it! His rep says: “Robert and Susan could not be more excited over this news. They can’t wait to welcome this new baby into their wonderful family.” I think RDJ wants a girl too. *squeal*

Have I finished eating my words yet? Probably not. As everyone reported last night, Beyonce debuted her bump at the VMAs. I thought the on-stage reveal was really cute, just because of the reaction shot of Jay-Z looking so proud and happy, and Kanye West losing his mind with happiness. It was adorable. Here’s the video – I liked the performance a lot:

The baby news does complicate their professional lives, though — shooting for Beyonce’s high-profile film project A Star Is Born has been delayed, while Jay-Z has a big-time tour to deal with.

“They will have to make adjustments,” admits the source, “but this is worth it!”

Have you heard the conspiracy theories? They exist – go here. The basic gist is that Beyonce hasn’t left the public eye in months, she was just on stage, performing with no bump just ten days ago, and now suddenly she has this big bump? Some people think that while Bey might be/is probably pregnant, she was wearing a fake bump last night. Lainey says Bey is famous for Spanx’ing it, and CB confirms that it wouldn’t be so weird for a pregnant woman to wear Spanx during her first trimester (although I would imagine it would be very uncomfortable, and not that great for the baby).

I’m going to give Bey the benefit of the doubt, though. I think she was just excited and she decided to make a big deal over debuting her bump. It’s fine, y’all.

I. Was. Wrong. I just want to get that out there, right at the start. Beyonce has been talking about babies for so many years, I just thought she would be one of those celebrities who would be forever “all talk, no action”. But I was wrong – Beyonce is pregnant! She announced it in an interesting way – by rubbing her belly/womb area on stage at the VMAs. It was actually… kind of cute. Beyonce was introduced by Britney and Gaga (still in her drag king Jo Calderone costume), and when Bey was singing “Love On Top”, I thought the highlight would be the cutaways – Adele singing and dancing along with Bey, and then Gaga hanging with Kanye and Jay-Z (and having a drink, it looked like). When Bey finished the song, she looked down at Jay, smiled and rubbed her bump. Kanye and Jay both went a little bit crazy, and it was seriously very sweet. Oh… I guess Bey announced it on the black carpet before her performance too…? I missed most of the preshow. I was watching The Tillman Story (it was more interesting than Selena Gomez, let me tell you).

But it wasn’t one of the pop diva’s signature show-stopping performances that had people talking. Instead, it was Beyoncé’s burgeoning belly bump, swathed in an orange gown.

“I’m happy to say it’s true,” her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

This will be the first child for Beyoncé and her husband of three years, 41-year-old Jay-Z, who performed “Otis” at the VMAs with Kanye West.

Just in June, Knowles, who turns 30 on Sept. 4, and told Piers Morgan, “I always said I would have a baby at 30.”

I get that you guys think that I’m jumping to spurious conclusions or whatever by assuming that Aniston’s rep plants or at least signs off on a lot of these stories about her. When that junk is in US Weekly, though, it makes me wonder. They’ve run a ton of very in depth Aniston-friendly stories lately. US has even been touting the Aniston-camp version of the timeline of her relationship with Justin Theroux too, and at least at one point was trying to smooth over those homewrecking rumors that his ex girlfriend mom’s pretty much confirmed.

So two weeks ago US ran a cover story about how Aniston and Theroux were trying for a baby. That must have been a good seller for them because they have a very similar story this week about Jen’s Baby Countdown. It’s kind of ridiculous to me, but it’s standard tabloid fare. Here’s a little of US’ story.

Jennifer Aniston – in attendance [at an anniversary party for Ellen and Portia] “wasn’t drinking alcohol,” says one partygoer of the star, who is usually spotted at parties clutching a cocktail. “And she looked pregnant. People were noticing and talking about it like it was a fact.”

If the actress has her way, it will be soon. After six years of broken relationships, the star knows she’s found The One…

“She has been telling those close to her that this is the year she’s going to get pregnant,” says a friend of the 42-year-old actress…

“The plan is to get pregnant this summer, said the friend…”

“[Theroux] is 100 percent on board – the last few months they have been in baby-making mode.”

Then they go on to give circumstantial evidence that Jen is either pregnant or really close to being pregnant. She slept late on her Hawaiian vacation, she skipped breakfast once “because just the thought of food turned her stomach,” and she quit smoking and drinking. Plus she’s supposedly gained a little weight. Then the article mentioned that she’s moving into a new home with Theroux in L.A. that they just bought. It’s all very Aniston-friendly and touts how great and perfect her relationship is.

Life & Style has another Aniston pregnancy story. They’re claiming “It’s Twins!” Only as Jezebel explains, the real article is all about how Aniston wants to get pregnant with twins. Typical, and very familiar.

In March I did a recap of past Aniston fake pregnancy cover stories, so given the latest rumors I would recommend that you revisit those for some sh*ts and giggles. (I would include them here but with the other two recent tabloid covers it could get confusing.) The Aniston pregancy rumors go way back, and she’s been pregnant or adopting or rumored to be pregnant ever since the triangle started.

So is this US Weekly thing a kind of nod to those covers, like an acknowledgement that the rumors only help Aniston’s career? She’ll tell you in interviews how much she wants kids, so I think the answer is “yes.” There are a couple of other possibilities. Either US is making this story up because Aniston pregnancy covers sell or she really is pregnant and her people are trying to prepare us. That would be a shocker after all the years of tabloids crying wolf.

You know how much I love Trace Cyrus, right? I LOVE HIM. He’s just so odd and goaty, and I love that Miley Cyrus is related by blood to someone like Trace. I love when some odd, random piece of Trace news comes up, because I love looking at photos of him. It’s weird, I know. But he’s so magnificently strange-looking. Personality-wise, he seems pretty odd too. So if I find Trace so appealing, is it any wonder that Trace is able to get chicks? Chicks dig weird, unconventional guys. Not every girl, sure. But there will always be some attractive, normal-seeming girl who looks at some goat-boy and thinks, “Yes! I want him!” On that note, Trace knocked up his normal, human girlfriend Brenda Song. Brenda is a cutie, a Disney girl, an actress, and one of Joe Jonas’s exes. It makes more sense now, doesn’t it? After having your biscuits ignored by a Jonas brother, your standards go even lower:

The Social Network star and Miley Cyrus‘ brother have been quietly seeing each other for several months, but made their first appearance together on the red carpet at Nylon’s party in early May.

Trace was previously linked to Demi Lovato. It was rumored Brenda briefly dated Joe Jonas.

Brenda, 23, first hit the scene after her hilarious role on the Disney show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Trace, 22, made a name for himself in the band Metro Station. Trace has a clothing company called Southern Made Hollywood Paid- maybe he’ll design a kids line next!

Brenda and Trace’s publicists could not be reached for comment.

I’ll be damned. Jennifer Garner really is pregnant! When Kaiser called it over the weekend, I thought it was yet another false pregnancy report due to the unflattering outfits Garner usually wears. I’ve assumed she was pregnant in the past when that wasn’t the case. Garner and Affleck just announced that they’re expecting their third child, though. Maybe they’re trying for a boy this time.

The couple, who are parents to two daughters – Violet, 5½, and Seraphina, 2½ – are “thrilled” to be expecting their third child, they confirm to the Associated Press.

Garner and Affleck, both 39, have each spoken of being hands-on parents. After Seraphina’s arrival, Garner said juggling acting and motherhood gave her a “split personality.”

“[I] feel like half my brain is somewhere else all the time, but when the camera’s rolling, I pull it together and focus for two minutes,” she said at the time, “and then I kind of turn back to a ditz again.

Well congratulations to them. I guess now that we know Garner was pregnant when she said “there’s no deeper want for a woman” than to be a mother it’s not as outrageous of a statement. It’s still a little out there, but taken in context it makes sense.

We’ve heard plenty of rumors and blind items that there were problems in their marriage, and that Garner is all about family while Affleck is ready to bolt. It would make sense given what they’ve both said to the press and given Affleck’s past. This is not a guy who gushes about his wife like his best friend, Matt Damon. He probably dotes on his kids though.

For a while now, I’ve been defending Jennifer Garner against the constant claims that she’s pregnant for the third time. Garner has said before that Seraphina was her last, and I think it’s rather mean to constantly call bump-watch on Garner whenever she has a small little tummy. Most of the time, it’s just a bad combination of food-babies and unflattering clothes. But over the past few months, there have been several blind items suggesting Garner is knocked up again (despite her rep’s denial in June) and in photos over the last week, I’m starting to wonder:

Is it possible that she’s pregnant again? It would make her fans happy, sure. And I would guess that Garner would be a great mom to yet another kid. It also wouldn’t surprise me if Ben Affleck and Jennifer both decided to “try for the boy”. But I still get the feeling that if she is pregnant, it’s probably not the happiest news for Ben and Jen, who seem to still be working through some issues in their marriage. Maybe this is how they’re working through those issues – who will pay attention to stories of Ben’s gambling problem or infidelity when a new addition to the Dimple Parade is in our midst?

All of these candid photos are from the past week, but yesterday Garner was at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, where she wore an odd blue dress that seems to be oddly puckering around her midsection. We don’t have access to the photos, but go here to look. I mean, the dress is fitted so I feel like she’s not pregnant and she’s just gained some weight in her midsection. But she totally look pregnant to me.

PS… Her boobs look bigger too, right?

Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria is knocked up! YAY! Royal babies. It was back in June of last year that Victoria married gym-owner Daniel Westling after they had dated for nine years. Daniel became Prince Daniel, and by most accounts, he’s been doing very well as a member of Swedish royal family over the past 14 months or so. And now he “did his duty” and knocked up his wife. Huzzah!

A new royal baby is on the horizon.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is expecting her first child in the spring, the Swedish palace has confirmed.

Victoria, 34, and former personal trainer Daniel Westling, 37, got married just over a year ago, in June 2010. In April, they were among the royal guests at the wedding of William and Kate at London’s Westminster Abbey.

“Their Royal Highnesses the Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are happy to announce that the Crown Princess is expecting their first child,” the palace said in a statement. “The birth is expected to take place in March of 2012. No changes in the schedule of the Crown Princess’s public engagements are planned during the fall of 2011.”

I like Victoria a great deal, and I like that she and Daniel seem to be pretty low-key, serving their country at home and abroad with little muss or fuss. Daniel seems like a nice guy, and I hope their pregnancy goes well and everybody is happy and healthy the whole way through. Also: Daniel and I have the same eyeglass frames, I think. His look better!

By the way, do you think Victoria just stole Duchess Kate’s baby-thunder? (Sidenote: “Baby Thunder” should be the name of a band. Or a baby blog.) I don’t know what to think about Kate’s fertility and whether she’s already pregnant or whatever. I think Kate will get pregnant within her first year of marriage, but I don’t think it’s happening yet.
