Halle Berry seems to be enjoying her pregnancy, being seen out and about and FABULOUS at various red carpet events. Every pregnant woman on Earth must hate her. With a passion. Where are her cankles?

But it seems while we might be envying Halle’s pregnancy gorgeousness, we don’t need to envy her at other times.

“It is true that I am three times the girl I usually am. I have to say there are some really wonderful things that come along with that,” she said Saturday night in accepting an award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. “This is the first red carpet that I’ve really walked down where I didn’t have to think about holding in my stomach – because I can’t.”

Berry, 41, expecting her first child with boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, told the black-tie crowd of 1,700 at the festival’s awards gala that she also can now finally enjoy a big dinner.

“It’s the first time I’ve been to an awards show where they served a meal and I actually ate it – the whole thing,” she said. “I was eating off everybody else’s plate and that felt very liberating and good.”

I can imagine nothing worse than having to wear a tight dress, suck in my belly, then skip a meal of delicious food. Which is probably why I have a big fat ass and don’t look like Halle Berry. Although, the dress would be truly fabulous - remember Halle’s 2002 Oscar dress? - and you could always request a doggie bag for your dinner. They should just give all the actresses their meals in take out cartons.

Halle this week shared her theory on why Catwoman sucked - the villan was lame. The villan, in case you were one of the many people who missed this at your local cinema, was played by Sharon Stone, who was the head of a cosmetics company who created an anti-aging cream that turned your face to stone without continued use. She was foiled by her own face cream when her face turned to marble. Who would have thought this wouldn’t be a success?

She (Halle) insists she couldn’t have predicted the film would flop.

She says, “It was definitely different from any other (movie) I had seen. I thought that we needed a better villain, but I was outnumbered in that area.

“You just never know how people are going to respond. I thought that Monster’s Ball was going to end my career. And look what happened. You just never know.”

Why would you have ever signed onto Monster’s Ball if you thought it would end your career? Catwoman made Halle a cool $14 million according to IMDB, but what was her motivation for acing a role she thought would end her Hollywood lifestyle?

Halle was great at cracking that whip though. I saw her swinging it around on Oprah and it was hot. Perhaps the whip was another plot flaw though - who has ever seen a cat crack a whip? Wouldn’t you need thumbs?

Halle is due to give birth in March, and she also has a few movie projects on the boil, including Tulia, in which she plays a lawyer. Production has been delayed because of her pregnancy.

We were wrong about the state of Nicole Kidman’s womb - she is pregnant, according to her rep and is predictably “thrilled.” Congratulations to Nicole and Keith:

Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban are expecting their first child, her rep confirms.

“The couple are thrilled,” Catherine Olim says in a statement.

For Kidman, this will be her third child. She and her former husband, Tom Cruise adopted two children during their marriage: Isabella, now 15, and Connor, 12.

As for where Kidman and Urban, who will be a first-time parent, may bring up their impending arrival, the couple, though both from Down Under, purchased a farm near Leipers Fork, Tenn., a half-hour southwest of Nashville, in 2007.

I was such a skeptic about those pregnancy reports as the gossip rags were getting to be like the boy who cried that the famous frozen-faced lady was pregnant over and over again, but this is wonderful news for Nicole. I hope everything goes perfect for her with her pregnancy and upcoming baby. She has spoken so frequently about wanting a baby and it’s so nice to hear her dreams have come true.

Nicole was photographed out looking happy as she lunched with a group of friends in Sydney on Sunday. I bet she broke the good news to them.

Despite all the sort-of bump pictures and the breathy gossip columns citing “multiple insiders,” I still don’t believe that Nicole Kidman is pregnant this time around. There have been too many close calls with her, and she often wears loose clothing and looks like she could be in the early stages of pregnancy. Page Six and the British papers are really pushing the pregnancy, but the trashy ones that are often right, Star and The National Enquirer, didn’t say anything about Kidman this week. My pregnancy-dar isn’t always accurate, but it’s just not going off for Kidman. I hope I’m wrong though, because she has said so many times that she wants a baby.

Page Six claims that Kidman has quit an upcoming film to make time for her much-anticipated arrival. It couldn’t be over the writer’s strike or creative differences or anything like that, because they have “extremely well-placed sources:”

Page Six has heard from extremely well-placed sources that the Oscar-winning Aussie - who’s suffered miscarriages in the past - not only has a bun in the oven but is so concerned about the welfare of her unborn child that she’s taking a break from her film career and has dropped out of director Stephen Daldry’s post-World War II Germany drama “The Reader,” which she was supposed to start shooting this month…

Kidman’s rep, Catherine Olim, didn’t return our calls or e-mail. Weinstein flack Matthew Frankel said: “I am being told that the status on ‘The Reader’ has not changed.” He declined to be more specific.

On Friday, a reporter for Daily Telegraph in Sydney, Australia, asked Kidman point blank whether she was in the family way. She “refused to answer,” the paper said. But our insider said: “Of course, everyone knows she’s pregnant and lying about it.”

Another source told us a Vanity Fair editor was recently overheard talking about pushing up Kidman’s photo shoot for the magazine’s annual Hollywood issue. “It’s because the costumes she’s set to wear won’t fit her much longer,” the spy said.

IMDB lists The Reader as being in “filming” status, so presumably it’s already written and won’t suffer too much from the writer’s strike, but maybe the script isn’t complete or needs edits and Kidman isn’t willing to work under those circumstances. It’s also very interesting that the setting of the film, Nazi Germany, is similar to Kidman’s ex Tom Cruise’s upcoming film, Valkyrie. Valkyrie has a release date of October 3, 2008, while The Reader is listed with a release date of December 12, 2008. Maybe Kidman wasn’t willing to make a film that was similar to another high-profile movie starring her ex and coming out two months ahead of hers. Or maybe she’s pregnant like everyone is saying. It just seems like there are plenty of other reasons for her to back out of that film other than a pregnancy.

We reported yesterday that Britney Spears is said to have told her pregnant 16-year-old sister, Jamie Lynn, not to marry her baby’s daddy and end up like her. That story was first covered by The Enquirer, and now they have a follow up that states that Britney also recommended that Jamie Lynn get an abortion. She wasn’t aware of how far along her sister was at that point, though, and is said to regret giving her that advice. Jamie Lynn’s mother Lynne is also said to have told her daughter not to carry the baby to term.

When Britney learned Jamie Lynn’s baby news, she called and had a showdown with her sister, telling her “not to ruin her life by going through with the pregnancy,” said a source.

“Britney told Jamie Lynn it was best for her to get an abortion and move on with her life and career and not to look back.”

But Jamie Lynn, who is due March 7, told Britney she is going to keep the baby and that she is making her “own decision and not letting anyone tell her to get rid of the baby.”

Britney began crying, could barely speak and quickly hung up the phone, says the source.

It sounds to me like The Enquirer knew that Britney told Jamie Lynn not to get married or have the baby and that they broke the story up into two parts for maximum impact.

It’s entirely plausible that Britney said this. The baby gift basket Britney bought her sister is rumored to be a peace offering after she felt guilty for recommending an abortion.

Jamie Lynn is said to be due on March 7 and to be expecting a baby girl. That would make her seven months’ pregnant, as commentors pointed out, not six as we incorrectly reported before. It sounds as if Jamie Lynne may have deliberately kept the news from her mother until it was too late for her to safely have an abortion. Obviously she decided to keep the baby against the advice of her family. Given the quotes from Jamie Lynn, it sounds like this baby wasn’t entirely an accident. She may have deliberately “forgotten” to take precautions, and indeed she is quoted as saying “Whatever happens, happens” when asked in an interview about her future plans, including children.

There is speculation that the father of Jamie Lynn’s baby is an older producer on her now probably-canceled tween show Zoey 101. The unknown adult would surely face statutory rape charges if he did father her baby.

This whole story is just sad, especially considering Britney’s very public meltdown early this morning. When you think about it, though, she had a lot of motivation to act like such a twat. Her sister is all over the papers and she’s not getting much press for her average wacky antics. Getting the focus back on Britney required a whole new level of crazy, and she brought it.

Britney Spears has given her 16 year-old knocked up sister some seemingly good advice. She told her not to marry her baby’s father and end up like her.

Britney’s mom is said to have made sure that she didn’t hear about Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy before the press did because Britney has a big mouth and she was worried that the news would get out. That sounds like a legitimate concern considering that she’s dating a paparazzo:

“Whatever you do, do not get married! You are too young and you will ruin your life! Do not make a mistake and end up like me!”

That’s the shocking advice Britney Spears has given her little sister Jamie Lynn, who’s 16 and pregnant, the Enquirer has learned exclusively.

Now a single mom with two young boys, Britney is desperately worried about her sister’s future - and livid with her mother for keeping Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy a secret from her, sources say…

“Her mom Lynne didn’t tell [Britney] Jamie Lynn was expecting because she was afraid Britney would leak the news - or that she’d tell one of her friends who’d let the story get out.”

Frantic, Britney tracked Jamie Lynn down at Lynne’s home in Kentwood, LA - and the two sisters broke down in tears.

“When she got Jamie Lynn on the phone, Britney started to cry, and so did Jamie Lynn,” said the source.

“Britney told her ‘Do not marry Casey. Look at the position I’m in.’

“She told Jamie Lynn that she’ll always be there for her - and when she’s ‘had it’ with Lynne, Jamie Lynn can come live with her.”

That’s ripe coming from Britney. It’s as if she blames Kevin for the fact that she can’t be bothered to spend time with her sons and/or hire a qualified nanny. She would be a lousy mom even if she was still married and at least the divorce helped Kevin step up to the plate, joint in hand or not.

Kevin is said to have also offered his support to Jamie Lynn. OK! Magazine reports that he thinks of her as a little sister and that “he just wants to be part of the support system.” He’s sure getting a lot of good press for a failed wannabe rapper that recently slept with Paris Hilton.

It seems like Jamie Lynn is going to have a troubled life whether she choses to get married or not. If she doesn’t want to end up like Britney she’s better off not talking to her much.

I read the much-anticipated tabloids’ take on 16 year-old Jamie Lynn Spears’ pregnancy, which she announced through celeb-friendly OK! Magazine, and they have more details that suggest that she was fibbing to OK! We already reported on the news that she’s more than just three months’ pregnant as she claims and that it is suspected that her on-off boyfriend Casey Aldridge is not the father. (Most of you have heard that she may have been the victim of an older producer on her tween-oriented series Zoey 101, and that he could be the father of her baby.)

Star focuses on Casey, as we reported, and how he was fooling around behind Jamie Lynn’s back and may have even fathered another young woman’s baby while he was dating her.

The National Enquirer also reports that Casey is a cheater, and says that Jamie Lynn is due on March 7, which would make her six months’ pregnant, not three as she claims. They say that her mother Lynne Spears didn’t want her to have the baby at first. They skirt around the topic of abortion, but it seems clear that’s what they mean. It was Casey who talked Jamie Lynn into keeping the baby, they claim:

Jamie Lynn Spears’ baby is due March 7 - and an ultrasound shows that it’s a girl, the Enquirer has learned exclusively. And while her mother demanded she not keep the baby, Jamie Lynn refused - and how the 16-year-old has set her heart on marrying the baby’s father, boyfriend Casey Aldridge, a close source reveals.

“Jamie Lynn learned she was pregnant in late July, but her mother Lynne didn’t want anyone to know,” the source told The Enquirer…

“To keep is quiet, Lynne whisked Jamie Lynn from California back to her home in Kentwood, LA, as soon as she finished filming… Zoey 101 in August.

“The Lynne demanded that Jamie Lynn not keep that baby. At first, Jamie Lynn agreed, but then Casey talked her into keeping the baby.

Determined to have her way, Jamie Lynn threatened to run away, marry Casey, who’s 18, and go live with her big sister Britney, said another insider.

Lynne, 55, dropped her demand, but she’s suspicious of Casey’s motives, sources say.

“Lynnes doesn’t believe Casey loves Jaime Lynn, even though he wants to marry her. She thinks he got Jamie Lynn pregnant on purpose for money and the fame of being the father of her baby,” said the source.”

How complicated can this story get? Jamie Lynn wanted to get married to Casey and move in with Britney, and that would have been entirely possible if they could have hired an organization expert and cleaning team to sanitize the mansion. Britney doesn’t live there anyway.

I guess it’s not surprising that Lynne wanted Jamie Lynn to have an abortion, even though the family is reportedly Southern Baptist and pro-life. I’m pro-choice, but understand the strong feelings that people have on both sides. To me it is an individual choice, although I respect the pro-life stance and belief that it’s wrong not to carry a pregnancy to term. My opinion on it changed quite a bit after I had my own baby, and I’ve had disagreements with family members about this very emotionally-charged issue.

It’s just a sad situation all around. Hopefully this baby will get the love and care it deserves and everything will work out for the best, no matter who is the father. It seems like Casey at least thinks he’s the dad if he’s supporting Jamie Lynn so much. Either way, once Jamie Lynn’s daughter reaches googling age she’ll be able to find out that her grandmother didn’t want her mom to have her. Maybe she’ll have other reasons to hate her by then anyway.

Lily Allen, always one to call a spade a spade, thinks her pregnancy isn’t a good example for young girls. Lily, 22, is expecting her first child with boyfriend of four months Ed Simons.

She said: “I’ve had a lot of offers from people to do my own maternity range but I don’t think it is the right message to send to young Britain. I’m not the best example. I’m pregnant and a bit young, aren’t I? My demographic is generally young girls, so I don’t think a maternity line is suitable. It isn’t the best impression to give them.”

While I’m sorry Lily won’t be designing maternity wear, pregnancy clothes being completely style-less as a rule, I’m glad she isn’t setting herself up as a good example. She’s not the worst example out there *cough* Jamie Lynn Spears *cough* and at least she’s taking responsibility for her actions, and not profiting from her pregnancy with an OK! magazine exclusive. Hopefully she’ll hit paydirt with the baby photos though.

“My dad’s wife said maybe you’re pregnant. I said no I’m not pregnant and my dad went: ‘Are you telling me you and your boyfriend have had sex?’

“I said: ‘Well yes but I didn’t think you could have sex by having it in the bum bum!’

“I thought I would write a song about it that goes: ‘I didn’t know you could pregnant from the bum bum’.”

Jennifer Aniston is in Los Cabos, Mexico with Courteney Cox, Courteney’s husband David Arquette and their daughter, Coco. Last year Aniston enjoyed the post-holiday season in Los Cabos along with the Cox-Arquettes and their mutual friend, Sheryl Crow. This year Crow stayed home and it looks like Aniston brought a date. OK! Magazine reports that she boarded a private jet from Burbank with a goateed fedora-wearing “mystery man,” who joined her on the balcony of her hotel in Mexico for drinks along with Courteney and David:

Outside the terminal, the party was picked up by a chauffer-driven white Cadillac Escalade, sent to greet them by their resort. After a 30-minute drive through the Mexican desert into Los Cabos, Jen, Courteney, David and the mystery man were spotted on the balcony of their rented beach home, chatting, drinking and dining at a table overlooking the gorgeous, windswept Sea of Cortez.

“Early that evening, Courteney, dressed in a cute jogging outfit, ran wind-sprints along the sand, as David and Coco accompanied her,” the eyewitness says. The trio “looked very happy and relaxed to be there. Coco was having a blast out on the beach. David looked pretty happy to be away from the hustle and bustle of L.A. He and Courteney were holding hands as they all walked together. And it seemed like the Arquettes may have been giving Jen and her friend some alone time. Maybe the unknown single guy is just a friend of the Cox-Arquettes, or maybe he was Aniston’s date. She is rumored to be in a so far short-term but serious relationship with actor Jason Lewis, and since he’s so handsome and recognizable we can probably assume that it wasn’t him.

OK! reports that Courteney, David and Jennifer have all enjoyed a joint vacation in Los Cabos for the past four years.

There’s a rumor that I’m inclined to believe that Jennifer Aniston is pregnant. There’s a story in The National Enquirer that she told friends and family that she’s expecting. It’s based on little more than “insider reports,” though, and there are no supporting details other than hearsay. I was hoping for some more evidence from the Enquirer, but now that I’ve read the article I think they might be bluffing based on photos of her. She does look pregnant to me, though.

Aniston’s rep has simply said “she’s not pregnant,” but time and more photographs will tell. Will she raise her baby with a different man like Heidi Klum did with Seal? Was she just wearing a deceptively baggy shirt and was her face looking a little puffy from recent surgical procedures? I’m thinking she’s pregnant, and that it’s going to be a big deal.

Nicole Kidman has made no secret of the fact that she wants to have more children, and US Weekly reminds us of all her recent quotes that show she’s yearning for a baby. In an interview in September’s Vanity Fair, she said, “I think I would be very sad if I wasn’t able to have a baby. Keith knows I want one, and he has been getting there slowly,” implying that her new husband wasn’t as keen to have a baby as she is. She also told Vogue that “I always thought I’d eventually live on a Fijian island. I love the idea of being in a sarong, with hair down to my bum and kids following me around and hanging out.”

This weekend’s Daily Mail claims that Kidman’s dreams have come true in time for the holidays, and that she’s been telling friends and family that she’s pregnant. The story sounds just like earlier false reports, which had her also telling friends and family of the news. Since the Daily Mail is reporting it, I wouldn’t count on an official announcement anytime soon.

The Daily Mail article then relies on her recent statement that acting on stage “wouldn’t fit in with the logistics and dynamics of my family,” as evidence and goes on to cite her outfits at recent premieres, so it sounds like the supposed pregnancy announcement is just a hunch based on no insider information. And that report this spring that she was pregnant sounded just the same:

After months of fertility treatment, sources say the actress has told family and friends that she and husband Keith Urban are finally expecting their first child together.

Kidman often looks like she has a lower-belly bump that could be the early stages of pregnancy. Many of you have pointed out that it might be the result of fertility treatment and doesn’t necessarily mean she’s pregnant.

Kidman has hinted at trouble in her marriage. When asked if she was happy with her husband of a year and a half, Keith Urban, she told Interview magazine this October that “I don’t ever say that. Partly because interviews are done in advance and you never know where something’s going. People’s lives together are complicated and beautiful and that’s what they should stay. They’re very quiet. Complicatedly quiet. They don’t need to be broadcast.” She went on to say that “My husband and I are committed to each other and deeply in love. That’s how I would put it. We’re working on staying in that place, and hopefully we will for the rest of our lives.”

If she’s so actively working on her relationship that she has to say she is, it might be harder if a child enters the picture.

The latest photographs I could find of Kidman are from 12/18 at a screening of The Golden Compass in Australia for sick children from Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick. She could possibly be pregnant, but it could also be her dress. She looked exactly the same with that very minor lower-belly bump in early October of this year. The verdict is still out on this one. I hope for her sake that it’s true, though.

Update: Kidman’s rep denies this report, and gives a pretty funny response when asked for comments. It sounds like Kidman isn’t pregnant at all:

“It is incorrect,” the spokeswoman tells the paper. “She must have had about 30 babies by now.”

As for Kidman, says the rep, “She’s in Australia making a film” – director Baz Luhrman’s epic Australia, costarring Hugh Jackman – “and her family are in Australia. She’s happily ensconced away somewhere having a few days break. It’s the silly season. As far as we’re concerned, it’s another rumor out of London.”

Cute British singer Lily Allen was on hand to open famed London department store Harrods for the start of their Winter sale this morning. She posed somewhat self-consciously with her hands across her stomach, but didn’t hide her growing pregnancy bump. Allen, 22, is expecting a baby with Ed Simons from the Chemical Brothers, 27. They’ve only been together since September, but are planning on moving in together to help raise the baby. It is not know how far along Lily Allen is, with her rep merely saying that the pregnancy “was at such an early stage” when she confirmed the news.

Lily Allen is getting her own talkshow on BBC in which she will have celebrity guests and musicians. She also wants to help publicize little-known bands with talent. She sent out a message on myspace asking for help finding bands for the show, which will “be on in the new year on BBC3.” The website for the show allows you to register for audience tickets, and hopes to get online participation from fans.
