I find this news very strange. Apparently, Tom Brady knows the sex of the baby he and Gisele are expecting (any day now), while Gisele has no idea. Now, I’m not an idiot. I get that doctors can predict the sex early, and that every couple chooses whether or not they’ll find out, but I find it odd that Tom would want to know while Gisele wouldn’t. Isn’t that the kind of thing that a couple would want to either know or not know together? How does that even work? Does Tom drop hints that they should be buying blue stuff and Gisele pretends she didn’t hear it?

Tom Brady clearly doesn’t like surprises!

The Patriots quarterback, 32, found out the gender of his baby — due in December — even though wife Gisele Bundchen is waiting.

“I’m really the only one that knows at this point,” he told Boston’s WEEI Sports Radio on Wednesday. “My dad asked me. I haven’t told him. [Gisele] doesn’t know. It’s a pretty good feeling knowing something that no one else knows.”

Brady — who is already father to son John, 2, with ex Bridget Moynahan — said Bundchen didn’t have a problem with his request to find out in advance.

“She’s a very intelligent woman. I wanted to find out and she didn’t, so she said, ‘Go ahead,’” he said. “It will be a surprise for her.”

His trick to keeping the secret?

“I always mix it,” he said of his use of boy and girl pronouns. “I don’t think I’ve ever slipped. I’m very conscious when I’m saying it.”

I’m not a mother, I’ve never been pregnant, but I’m sure I’d like to know if and when it happens for me. I’m of the opinion that the knowing the sex of the baby is one of the few times you can actually have some knowledge about parenting, and you can prepare yourself. Plus, I dislike gender-neutral nurseries. There’s only so much you can do with beige.

This is Padma Lakshmi’s sexy cover shot for the winter issue of Page Six Magazine. I think she looks amazing here, and I love that she’s showing some skin, but in a cool, interesting way – but I’m pretty sure they made her skin look darker, yes? I’m sure they just wanted some sexy, faux-gritty lighting to make Padma look extra exotic, but the result is that her skin looks about two shades darker than normal. The complete interview hasn’t been released yet, but there are some interesting excerpts floating around. Unfortunately, 39-year-old Padma’s still not telling who her baby-daddy is (cough cough Jude Law cough), but she is still very open with talking about the changes in her diet and her body:

Padma on being naked: “I like me better naked. I don’t mean that in a vain way . . . When you put clothes on, you immediately put a character on. Clothes are adjectives, they are indicators. When you don’t have any clothes on, it’s just you, raw, and you can’t hide.”

On her pregnancy weight gain: “One of the reasons I think I’ve gained weight pretty quickly during my pregnancy is that I’m not exercising as much as I do normally … I can’t. I’m feeling tired, and I have this business to run.”

On aging: “You hope that with age, what you pay for in gravity, you gain in gravitas. I’m sure my thighs looked better when I was 25, but I think my mind is better today.”

On being a celebrity: “I went to a bar mitzvah on the Upper East Side last year, and not to toot my own horn, but I might as well have been Michael Jackson to these 13-year-old boys and girls. There were something like 30 children around me, and they were all practically hyperventilating. I had this swarm of little kids going, ‘Oh, my god! Oh, my god!’ Kids are so authentic, so pure, and they’d be telling me, ‘My sister and I had an amuse-bouche contest, and we need you to tell us who should have won.’ I think that’s really cool.”

On her divorce from Salman Rushdie: “I [have been] reconstructing my life and putting it back together in a way that looked more appropriate to who I was. At this point in my career, I’m still growing. Jewels, spices and teas – I sound like Magellan.”

Padma is growing on me more and more. I used to not care for her in the least, but I’ve begun to watch Top Chef and I’ve started to read her interviews, and she comes across as a refreshingly professional, self-aware, intelligent woman. She’s not girlish or silly or playing dumb, which I appreciate. She’s a real woman, and there aren’t enough real women on television. Oh, but she was absolutely horrible on 30 Rock. That woman cannot act for sh-t, not even when she’s playing a version of herself. That was embarrassing. So, Padma, just stick to Top Chef and writing and giving interviews – those are your strong points.

Here’s Lindsay Lohan at an event in Los Angeles last night. When CB saw these pictures, she said she “really thinks Lohan is pregnant and it’s not bloat… She’s wearing a bizarre corset on the outside like she’s trying to cover it up.” While I don’t think Lindsay looks as bloaty/pregnant as she did last week, these photos are very, very interesting. Lindsay looks disheveled (shocking!) and cracked out, per usual. But in many photos, she seems to be making an effort to show her profile, and even motions to her abdomen in several frames. Is that weird corset thing a cover? Extra bulk around her midsection to fool the camera?

In another piece of Lindsay drama, Fox News is reporting that she refuses to pay for her own liquor nowadays. They claim that when Lindsay was out recently at a Hollywood hotspot, she didn’t pay her tab, telling the waitress to charge it to Kellan Lutz’s card. Seriously? That’s pretty disgusting.

It sounds as though Lindsay Lohan is seriously running low on her cash supply.

The troubled Tinseltowner was spotted all-smiles at Hollywood hotspot Crown Bar last Thursday but suddenly left in tears — apparently before paying her bills.

Pop Tarts has been told that toward the end of the evening, Lohan ordered a bottle of champagne but when approached her for the bill she wasn’t prepared to pay up.

“Lindsay pointed over at Kellan Lutz and told the waitress just to charge his card,” an insider said.

Lohan left soon after and apparently the situation wasn’t really resolved. Naughty naughty. A rep for Lindsay did not respond for comment.

This was the same night Lindsay cried in front of the paparazzi – and this could be a good explanation for that drama. Lindsay was throwing a little temper tantrum because she was actually asked to pay her bill! Scandal!

As for all of the tapes Michael Lohan has released of he and Dina talking about what a f-cking mess Lindsay is, it looks like he might be facing criminal charges for it! Sources claim that beyond the whole wiretapping issue (which is legal conundrum I don’t even want to wade into), Michael may have broke the protective order Dina had against him when he called her. Dina’s lawyer is said to speaking to the Nassau County District Attorney about the tapes. Even though I’d like to see Michael rotting in jail, just in general, I think it’s pretty rich for Dina to complain about Michael calling her. She’s the one spilling every detail of her daughter’s life to Michael on the phone – what, she doesn’t have the willpower to hang up?

Update by Celebitchy: Ok, now that I see more photos from the front Lohan doesn’t look as pregnant to me. The situation is still kind of suspicious and we’ll have to wait and see.

The National Enquirer is reporting that Kevin Federline’s professional-volleyball-player girlfriend Victoria Prince is pregnant. Reportedly, 26-year-old Victoria found out she’s expecting in mid-October in mid-October that she’s expecting, which would most likely mean Victoria is about two months pregnant at most, I would think. Allegedly. All of this is a big, fat “allegedly”. But here’s why I think it’s true: K-Fed’s sperm is like Kryptonite to sensible family planning. He can get women pregnant just by looking at them. He’s already got two babies each with Shar Jackson and Britney Spears, so if Victoria’s pregnant, it would be Kevin’s fifth baby. And he’s 31 years old. And he’s unemployed. Dude…

Victoria has been living with Kevin since she quit working last spring. She suspected she was pregnant after the two spent a weekend in Las Vegas in mid-October. After telling Kevin she thought there was a chance she was pregnant, he urged her to take a home pregnancy test to get a definitive answer, an insider divulged.

“The test was positive. She told Kevin that she was pregnant, but he didn’t seem happy to hear the news,” the source revealed. “Kevin wasn’t planning to have children with Victoria, and now he’s upset with her. Kevin says he loves her, but he told her that he didn’t want to get married again.”

Kevin is also worried how Britney will react to the news.

“Kevin definitely doesn’t want to hurt Britney. After all, she’s supporting him, their two boys and Victoria. He knows she’ll be devastated at the thought he may be starting a new family with Victoria.”

The Enquirer story goes on and on about Britney and how devastated she will be when she finds out. A source even claims: “Britney never wanted Kevin to have another child unless it was with her… she desperately wants to have a baby girl, and she had hoped Kevin would be the dad.” Uh…. Pink wig, stat! I actually think Britney would be in more mental-health danger if she got pregnant again, not if she found out Kevin had knocked up some other girl. But maybe I’m giving the Pink Wig too much credit.

This week, the Enquirer has yet another story involving Mel Gibson, Oksana Grigorieva, weddings, alcohol, babies and doom. This week’s story seems to contradict previous Enquirer reports (like last week‘s, about Oksana not wanting to sign a prenup), but it’s still interesting. The gist seems to be that Mel Gibson “pulled the plug” (hairplug?) on his alleged Christmas wedding with Oksana because he’s realized he still has “strong romantic feelings” for his estranged (ex) wife Robyn. Also, Mel has come to the conclusion that his relationship with Oksana is “doomed by her greed and ambition”.

“The light bulb finally went on,” a longtime friend told the Enquirer. “Mel realized not only was Oksana alienating him from his children, but she also was incredibly self-absorbed. Her career and not their happiness is her No. 1 priority.”

“His kids and friends have been telling him for months that Oksana was using him for money and fame, and finally he saw it for himself.”

“He has even begun to question whether the relationship will continue after the baby is born.”

Mel has begun to miss his old life with Robyn and their children. And he started to see Oksana as a career-obsessed control freak.

“While Mel was thrilled about their baby, he realized Oksana was more concerned about her career and status as an up-and-coming Hollywood star,” said the friend.

“He hated how rude she was to his children. And after Oksana established that she wanted a say in his financial decisions, he realized that marriage to this person would be a mistake.”

“Mel fears he’s actually falling back in love with Robyn… he knows his relationship with Robyn can never be repaired. But he sees how good he had it with her and ow much he took advantage of her. When they were together, Robyn took care of everything – finances, kids, family schedules. She rarely griped at him and gave him all the space he wanted professionally and personally.”

But Oksana is just the opposite, warns the friend.

“It’s ‘me, me, me!’ all the time with Oksana. Mel felt he had no choice but to put the brakes on the wedding – and he’s rethinking the relaitonship… Mel and Oksana are still together – but barely.”

Damn, is anyone else feeling for Oksana just a smidge? On one side, I do think she’s a golddigger who is in this for the money, to build her career and to have some financial security. On the other side, I f-cking hate a blatant hit piece like this, even if it does have some truth to it. So what if she’s trying to build her career? Good for her. She sounds like a cat being strangled, but at least she’s trying to bring some money in on her own. In any case, I don’t really believe that Mel is having second thoughts. I think even if he did acknowledge to himself that Oksana’s trouble, he would never admit it. His pride and ego are intertwined in the this relationship and making it appear to work.

Of course, people are up in arms about this. Personally, I’m not disgusted by it, but my first and now solidified thought was and is simply “Way to glamorize teen pregnancy, Teen Vogue.” I mean, really… Show some perfect-looking, beautiful, airbrushed teenage girl without even a hint of a pregnant belly, and then mention that she‘s pregnant inside, without any additional information on teen pregnancy. Way. To. Go. Anyway, Teen Vogue’s press office is now doing some damage control, and the results are just what you’d expect.

A model on the November cover of Teen Vogue is a 19-year-old who reveals in the magazine that she is pregnant.

Jourdan Dunn is not visibly pregnant on the cover, and Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief Amy Astley said the magazine didn’t know about Dunn’s pregnancy until after the photo shoot. But she said that editors didn’t consider pulling the cover Dunn shares with fellow model Chanel Iman.

“Teen pregnancy is a difficult, real-life issue that Teen Vogue readers (with an average age of 18) are mature enough to be exposed to,” Astley said in a statement. “Teen Vogue felt it was important to support, not punish, Jourdan Dunn, who contributed to a beautiful photo shoot and who will surely have an ongoing and successful career in fashion.”

The cover has raised eyebrows among some parents, teens and advocates against teen pregnancy.

“There’s no message to send to them that that’s not OK. Maybe if she’s on the cover to tell them ‘Be careful,’ that’s one thing,” said Catherine Essig, a 19-year-old sophomore at Dallas’ Southern Methodist University, who was concerned about 15- and 16-year-old readers.

Many advocates said parents should use the cover as a way to talk to their kids about sex and the importance of planning pregnancies for the right moment in their lives.

“Teen parenting isn’t glamorous, even if you are a teen model,” said Valerie Huber, executive director of the National Abstinence Education Association.

A message left by The Associated Press at Dunn’s New York City agency was not immediately returned. The London native told Teen Vogue that her unplanned pregnancy has been hard.

“All I could think about was what my mom was going to say, my agency, my boyfriend,” said Dunn, who is expecting a boy in December. “When I told my mom, she started crying and blaming herself. She got pregnant with me at the same age, and she said, ‘I don’t want you to have to go through what I did.’”

“The magazine should be used as a teachable moment because the media and popular culture help shape “the social script for teenagers,” said Bill Albert, a spokesman for the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. “It shapes what they think is cool, is not cool, what’s in, what’s out, what’s acceptable, what seems to be the social norm…It’s not the only influence and I’d suggest not the most powerful, but it is an influence.”

But parents, he said, shouldn’t underestimate their own power.

“Young people tell us time and time again that parents — not the media, not their partners, not their peers — parents most influence their decisions about sex,” he said.

After a record high in the early 1990s, the teen birth rate in the U.S. dropped 34 percent from 1991 to 2005. But between 2005 and 2007, it increased 5 percent, according to the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy.

A lack of family planning remains a problem even as women get older — 70 percent of pregnancies among 18 to 29-year-olds are unplanned, Albert said.

The magazine cover story mainly focuses on the two models’ friendship, which grew chilly over competition for a time, and their experiences as black models in the fashion world.

Jill Taylor, chair of the women and gender studies department at Simmons College in Boston, said that she would have liked to have seen the magazine use the model’s pregnancy to provide more information about teen pregnancy.

“Fourteen and 15-year-olds reading it don’t have an idea how hard it is for most single mothers having babies. She’s got resources,” Taylor said.

The most frightening quote, in my opinion, was this one from Dunn, describing her emotions when she learned she was pregnant: “All I could think about was what my mom was going to say, my agency, my boyfriend.” Nice order, there, Jourdan. My mom, my modeling agency, and oh yeah, my boyfriend. Other than that, am I alone in feeling slightly “meh” about this controversy? Yes, it’s glamorizing teen pregnancy, but there’s been a lot of that going around. Does this help teenage girls? Not really. But I’m optimistic enough to hope that it started some conversations.

After spending the first two trimesters with a either a totally flat stomach or the merest hint of a bump, Gisele Bundchen is finally showing off a sizable “bump”. According to British sources (and how would they know, really?), Gisele is about seven months pregnant now and she’s expecting a Christmas baby. Other sources have her due in January, so nothing is for. Gisele and Tom Brady aren’t confirming anything beyond the fact that yes, it is a real baby and not a burrito food-baby. We also don’t know if Gisele is expecting a boy or girl (reportedly she’s been buying a lot of pink, though). The Daily Mail does report that Gisele spends her modeling maternity leave learning how to fly a helicopter:

Gisele, 29, is seven months pregnant with her first child with American footballer husband Tom Brady, 32.

Brady, who plays for the New England Patriots, has a two-year-old son John Edward Thomas with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

Gisele’s child, reportedly a daughter, is expected to be a Christmas baby.

The supermodel has not let her pregnancy slow her down and recently started taking lessons to learn to fly a helicopter.

‘She’s been coming to the airfield for a couple months and she started her lessons a few weeks ago, Keith Douglass, president of Shoreline Aviation, told America’s People magazine.

‘She’s gung ho about learning to fly. She’s one of the best students we’ve ever had,’ he continues, adding that Gisele can fly until November under her doctor’s advice.

‘She’s fantastic at flying the helicopter. She is very smooth and professional and she listens.’

In case anyone noticed, Life & Style’s cover story this week is deliberately misleading. You see the words “Kim Kardashian” and “I’m Having a Baby” and you might think to yourself “Dear God, two of these monsters are pregnant?!?” Not so much. If you read the smaller print, there’s a clue: “It’s On! Kim tells Life & Style hot she’s preparing for her exciting new life”. My guess? It’s an interview about Kim wanting a baby. And she probably has the same reasons as we’ve already listed: because she wants attention and because she wants to go shopping.

Life & Style hasn’t put up their cover interview yet, but Popeater has some quotes. Apparently, 29-year-old Kim says: “I always had a vision I’d be married with one kid by the time I’m 30.” Gasp. About doing the whole baby-before-marriage thing, like her sister Kourtney: “I don’t think that’s for me, but you never know.” About her on-again relationship with Reggie Bush, Kim says: “Before, I was strictly all about my work. Now I make it a priority to go see him instead. It’s all about the commitment you choose to make. I want a lot of kids. Maybe five or six. A mix of both boys and girls.” Meanwhile, Fox 411 has a story about how Kim feels like “the odd sister out”:

Kim Kardashian has a lot of expectations for her career, but one thing the reality star never saw coming was her potential role as the odd sister out.

A friend of the Kardashians tells Fox411 that with Khloe’s recent wedding to L.A. Laker Lamar Odom and Kourtney’s surprise pregnancy, Kim quickly found herself feeling down about her single status. Friends said she couldn’t help but feel a little envious of the new and exciting lives her sisters have and was surprised that she was left as the career woman.

Her fears seemed to be a major catalyst for her reunion with ex-boyfriend and NFL star Reggie Bush.

“Kim didn’t expect to be the last of the three Kardashian sisters married and having kids,” the source told Fox. “Khloe will be traveling with Lamar and eventually wants to have babies with him while Kourtney and Scott are talking about a wedding next year after the baby … there’s actually a lot of competition between the sisters and Kim had a moment where she felt like the lame single one who was too focused on her work.”

But while Kim did not expect Khloe’s wedding and wasn’t exactly over the moon about the rush, she was there for her sister and is now looking forward to aunt duty. At the launch of FusionBeauty’s new lip gloss, inFATuation in Hollywood last week, Kim “snuggled with a little boy” while thousands of fans lined up to meet her.

“Kim is nothing but excited for Kourtney’s new baby and is turning into a little mother already. She is practicing with every child that comes her way and gets down in public and picks up and plays with stranger’s children. Kim is excited about the birth and plans on being in the delivery room with Kourtney.”

“Kim, Kourtney and Khloe were always competitive as children and now Kourtney and Khloe can finally compete evenly with Kim in adulthood. In years past, Kourtney and Khloe felt like second string sometimes but they are rising to the top on their own power now. The three of them will always fight and yell and then make up.”

It always cracks me up when any of the Kardashian girls talk about their “work” and how “hard” they’re working. Totally f-cking ridiculous. Anyway, on a happier note, Life & Style was declared a Gosselin-free zone this week, and the decision was made because of reader feedback. According to MSNBC, “Of 1,000 readers polled, 94 percent said they were fed up with the couple. The magazine’s editor-in-chief, Dan Wakeford, said, ‘We believe, for the sake of their children, they need some time to solve their problems behind closed doors.’ The ban isn’t necessarily a permanent one. Wakeford said that they’d continue to monitor feedback and make the decision about covering the family on a week-to-week basis.”

Since Padma Lakshmi announced her “miracle” pregnancy in early October, she’s been flashing her proud baby bump all over the place. These pictures are from Padma’s red carpet appearance at Keep A Child Alive’s 6th Annual Black Ball in New York last week. I love the dress, but I absolutely hate Padma’s hair. Still, she looks gorgeous and boob-tastic.

Padma still hasn’t said a word about the baby daddy, though. At one point, CB was thinking that Padma and Jeremy Piven might have something going on, based on the fact that they were eating together and put pictures of each other up on their Twitter. I kind of think Padma and Jeremy are just friends considering they’re not really each other’s type. Jeremy likes them really young, and Padma likes them really old. I think the best guess for baby-daddy is her former (or current?) boyfriend Ted Forstmann, who is like 70 years old. Anyway, Padma was telling OK! Magazine about her pregnancy, and she lamented having to leave behind parts of her workout:

Many celebrity moms-to-be already have a plan in place to shed the weight gained during pregnancy before they’ve even gotten the result on the pregnancy test. But for pregnant Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi, she’s not only not worrying that far ahead, she’s expecting that the birth of her first child will change her figure forever.

Rather than fret about getting back to pre-baby weight, Padma says she’s more concerned about having a healthy, beautiful baby.

“I don’t expect my body to be exactly how it was before pregnancy,” she explained at Thursday night’s 6th Annual Keep a Child Alive Black Ball at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC.

“If it doesn’t, it’s okay. It’s a really small price to pay for me. I really want to be a mother. I’m really happy! I don’t care if I go up a size!”

Because of the pregnancy, Padma admits she’s “working out less. I’m on the treadmill or lame dumbbells! I can’t box! I can’t jump rope!”

One thing that is helping keep her in shape is the fact that she’s not yet begun craving any high-calorie snacks. “It’s so boring… I’m not having any cravings,” she reveals. “I’m eating really well. I always ate well. I’m eating everything. The only thing I’m not eating is sushi or any raw food.”

So what’s the one thing she’s looking most forward to about being a mom? Answers Padma, “Just to see my baby’s face!”

Considering her age (39) and her own admission of struggles with endometriosis, I’d think that Padma is probably being very, very careful with her pregnancy. Her doctors are probably telling her not to take any kind of risk on anything. I hope she just takes it easy and gives in to every food craving she has. Maybe she could force Tom Colicchio to make her food every day. He’d probably be happy to.

At long last, Kourtney Kardashian has revealed the sex of her unborn baby. It’s a boy! Well… congratulations! I was sort of hoping for a girl, just to see what Kourtney would name a girl (Krazy Kardashian-Disick? Krispee Kardashian-Disick? Or Kiss Kardashian-Disick?). Anyhoodle, after paying some lip service to “not announcing the sex”, Kourtney gave in to her inner famewhore and decided to share the joyous news to E! News, after Kourtney’s family had already gone on the “Kourtney’s not telling” tour:

Kourtney Kardashian: You’ve got male.

The mom-to-be confirms that she’s expecting a baby boy with Scott Disick.

“A boy is definitely needed in this family!” Kourt exclusively tells E! News. “Scott and I are thrilled to add a little boy to the bunch. Bruce and Rob told me it would be a boy the whole time!”

When a reporter asked if the baby was kicking, Kris replied, “A lot…he was today!” before correcting herself with: “She was today. It was today.”

“We say he and she but no one knows,” Kourt quickly added.

Well, we do now! Congrats to the couple for evening out the female-dominated Kardashian clan.

Kris pisses me off so much. I mean, I get that she manages her daughters and that’s why she’s so involved in their lives and why she’s always talking about them and stuff, but she still pisses me off. There’s a difference between being a mother who has a great relationship with your adult daughters, and being envious of your daughters to the point where you act more immature then them.

Anyway, 13-year-old Kendell Kardashian (who is talking to the press now too) told Fox News that Kourtney liked “For a boy, [the name] Mason. She had such exotic names for girls.” Mason Kardashian-Disick… not so bad. It’s a mouth-full, but maybe they won’t hyphenate the last name. Mason Disick. Eh. I associate “Mason” as a very Southern name, and now I’m not so sure. But hey, at least it’s not a “K” name.
