Prince William threatens UK press: If you hound Kate “there will be hell to pay”

Duchess Kate is doing better! A rep for William and Kate told the press last night: “The Duchess of Cambridge is continuing to feel better,. She and the Duke are immensely grateful for the good wishes they have received. She will remain in hospital at present and will continue to be treated for hyperemesis gravidarum.” So the anti-nausea medication is working and hopefully she’s not vom-ing all over the place right now. As for the other matters… I keep forgetting to wildly and irresponsibly speculate on all of the Duchess Kate Bump Drama, so let’s do that before we get into the Radar story which I want to discuss. Let’s do some bullet points:

*TWINSIES! There are rumors that Kate is so sick with hyperemesis gravidarum because she’s carrying multiple babies. Apparently, the condition occurs more often when a woman is pregnant with multiples, but it also happens often enough with single births too, so the “twins!” rumor is just that, a rumor. It’s possible that Kate and William don’t even know if they’re expecting twins, right? It’s still really early.

*GODPARENTS. Everyone says Pippa as godmother and Prince Harry as godfather. I think those are some excellent bets, but the royal family might demand that Will and Kate choose only royalty, in which case I think Zara Phillips might be the back-up choice for godmother.

*GINGER HEIR? I would love it so, so much if Kate gave birth to a ginger baby. We would have to examine the timelines very closely and there would elaborate conspiracy theories involving Prince Harry flying home for one night to make sweet, torrid love to his sister-in-law. I’m kind of glad that Harry was in Afghanistan during the conception, though. The speculation would have been fun, but I’m glad Kate kept her eye on the (royal) ball. So… the heir will probably not be a ginger. But here’s hoping!

*GIRL BABY NAMES. I feel like we’ve been discussing baby names for two years, right? I don’t think it’s a guarantee that we’ll have a “Princess Diana” if Kate has a girl, but Diana could definitely be chosen as one of the middle names. You never know with William – I think it might be kind of morbid for him to use “Diana” as a daughter’s first name, but I also thought it was kind of morbid for him to give Kate his mother’s engagement ring too. Diana is definitely on the table then, as is “Elizabeth” (for the Queen) and “Carole” (for Kate’s mum). I’m also really feeling “Charlotte” for some reason – it’s a good name in general, there’s not a long royal family history with the name, and it references William’s father, Charles. Something like Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Wales?

*BOY BABY NAMES. Less eventful, for sure. Royal men have long-ass names, and they’re often a litany of male royal ancestors. Expect to see: Phillip, Charles, Henry, George and maybe even Albert and definitely Michael (for Kate’s dad). I’d like to see a boy’s name that we haven’t heard in a while for the first name. Like… I’m really feeling “James”. And that’s Kate’s brother’s name too. Prince James Phillip Charles Michael of Wales.

*WILL IT BE AN RAF BABY? No. This is just wild speculation on my part, but I really do think William is going to leave the RAF at the end of the year. Even though the royal talking points are that “William is a dedicated public servant and military man,” his vacation-happy actions speak louder than words. He doesn’t have time to serve in the RAF anymore. He and Kate will be living full-time in London by January, I think.

Okay, now we can get to this Radar story. According to Radar’s “sources,” William is going to start threatening the press directly if they dare to cross the line in covering Kate’s pregnancy:

Prince William has vowed to move Heaven and Earth to shield his expectant wife and their unborn baby from the media furor created by the long awaited news of her pregnancy, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

William is “excited and happy beyond belief” about the pregnancy but determined not to allow press intrusion to cause any disruption or possible harm to the well being of Kate and their first born child, according to a well placed Brit source, who goes on to say thatWilliam has called in the big guns to ensure he acheive his aims.

“William has always had a distrust, bordering on outright loathing, for the press,” the source tells RadarOnline.com. “It all stems from his childhood — watching the way his mother was built up and then torn down by the media and ultimately, he strongly believes to this day, hounded to her death by over-zealous paparazzi. He has vowed to do everything in his power to protect Kate from the media frenzy surrounding her pregnancy and Heaven help anyone who crosses the line. At William’s behest the Queen instructed Palace bigwigs to individually call all of the chiefs at the British newspapers immediately following the pregnancy announcement and warn them, in no uncertain terms, that if any lines are crossed, any intrusive paparazzi shots are purchased and published, or if Kate feels hounded in anyway there will be hell to pay.”

“William was deeply hurt and angered by the topless photo scandal Kate was forced to endure over the summer, and has made it crystal clear that, make no mistake, he will not allow his wife to be subjected to such blatant intrusion and humiliation ever again.”

“William is well aware that he leads a public life,” the source says. “And he is more than willing and accepting to dedicate his life to the British people and lead a life of public service and duty. However, as much as William accepts his responsibilities he still firmly asserts that he and his wife also have the right to demand a degree of privacy. They can not be expected to live in a fishbowl 24-7 and William is determined to make sure both he and Kate are afforded time off from public life and media scrutiny to live their lives together with at least a sprinkling of normalcy — this has just become even more of an ingrained belief since learning he is to become a father.”

[From Radar]

Protective father-to-be or a petty, petulant control-freak who doesn’t want his lifestyle to be questioned by anyone? Can it be both? Because I think it’s both. I think William is genuinely concerned, and he has good reason to be. But I think threatening newspaper editors is the wrong way to go, as is the constant placement of blame on the press for his mother’s death. It feels like William is going to be going out of his way to antagonize people rather than learning how to deal with his public (and publicly-funded) role in a mature, thoughtful and respectful way.

Prince William visits his pregnant Kate in the hospital, Kate clears her schedule

Here are some new photos of Prince William leaving the King Edward VII hospital yesterday in London. These are the first pics of William since he and Kate announced her pregnancy, which, according to the super-official statement, is in the “very early stages.” According to sources, Duchess Kate got progressively worse over the weekend with her violent morning sickness, and she was checked into the London hospital Monday morning by her husband. I don’t know if William spent the day at her bedside, covered in her vom, or if he just stopped by for a quick visit or what. I’m guessing that the visit was substantial.

As the original statement said, “As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.” First, let’s parse the “very early stages” thing. In my post yesterday, I did assume that they were announcing while Kate was on the cusp of the end of her first trimester, but everyone keeps emphasizing the “very early stages” part, so I’m guessing that she’s probably not even two months along. The Mail says Kate and Will were hoping to make a Christmas announcement, which puts my timeline for the date of conception probably around early to mid-October at the earliest, wouldn’t you say? I’m doing the math… will it be a June baby? I think so.

A lot of people are saying that Hyperemesis Gravidarum is actually super-serious and that Kate is likely to be sick as dog for the whole nine months. In which case… huzzah! Kate has a perfectly good reason to cancel all of her engagements for the next year, right? See what I boon this pregnancy is for Kate? She has a perfectly legitimate and above-board reason for not working, and if anyone brings up her lack of work, they’ll be made to feel like a complete bitch (which is how I feel!). See, I can’t even get any joy out of pointing out her lack of work now. This baby thing is a genius PR move! So, obviously, Kate and Will’s office has already announced that Kate has canceled her next three public appearances. Here are more details:

Pregnant Kate Middleton is taking every precaution to make sure she and her baby-to-be are as healthy as possible — and that includes rearranging her royal schedule.

Hospitalized at King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, an acute form of morning sickness, Middleton — who confirmed her first pregnancy on Monday, Dec. 3 — has canceled three upcoming public appearances as she gets back on her feet.

A St. James’s Palace representative confirms to Us Weekly that Prince William’s wife, 30, will bow out of ICAP Charity Day in London (December 5), Winter Whites Gala in aid of Centrepoint (December 8) and the British Military Tournament at Earl’s Court, London (December 9), while she rests and recovers from her hospitalization, which is expected to last a few days.

While 70 to 80 percent of pregnant women experience some type of morning sickness, Hyperemesis Gravidarum afflicts between 0.03 and 0.1 percent of expectant mothers. The condition is characterized by severe nausea, vomiting, weight loss, dehydration, lightheadedness and fainting. Typical treatment methods include hydration, medication and bed rest.

[From Us Weekly]

The Mail also has a story chock full of juicy little pieces of gossip. According to their sources, Kate is “barely eight weeks along” and she and William hadn’t told the Queen before Monday – they were planning to tell the whole royal family over Christmas. Even Charles didn’t know before Monday! And neither did Harry – someone sent Harry an email a few hours before the news broke. The Mail says that Kate told her parents this weekend, when she was staying with them and when Kate got progressively more and more ill. William wasn’t there at first – he was at a “shooting party” with the boys somewhere else, but he came to check on her on Sunday. William drove her to the hospital himself, declining an offer of an ambulance, and Kate is said to have walked into the hospital herself.

And here’s my favorite sentence ever published in The Mail forever and ever: “Royal mothers are usually looked after by the Queen’s gynecologist – currently Alan Farthing, the former fiancé of murdered TV host Jill Dando.” ONLY IN ENGLAND. Only in England could you write a sentence that is so amazingly brilliant and hilarious. Poor Kate is going to have to see her grandmother-in-law’s gyno and he used to be engaged to a murdered TV hostess. Kate’s poor duchessy biscuit.

The Queen isn’t going to visit Duchess Kate in the hospital: rude or understandable?

Apparently, Queen Elizabeth only found out about Duchess Kate’s pregnancy yesterday. That’s when Prince William drove his wife to the hospital and all hell broke loose and St. James Palace (the residence and office of the Prince of Wales) had to issue statements confirming Kate’s pregnancy. So, the Queen maybe found out about Kate’s pregnancy an hour before everyone else in the world. It reminds me of William and Kate’s engagement announcement – remember, William “informed” the Queen just like a day before the announcement. William loves his secrets! If you had grown up like that, you would love your secrets too. Anyway, when journalists approached the press office of Buckingham Palace to ask if the Queen would be visiting her granddaughter-in-law (and mother of the future heir to the throne), the Palace was all “meh.”

Prince William returned to the hospital to visit pregnant wife Kate as she spends her second day being treated for severe morning sickness. William – in a purple sweater, blue collared shirt and black jeans – walked straight into King Edward VII Hospital after exiting a green Land Rover.

Without a wave or signal to the 100-strong waiting media, the father-to-be, 30, had his head down, briefly running his hand through his hair as he strolled through the doors.

Kate, who is believed to be being cared for by Dr. Marcus Setchell (he delivered royal babies for the Countess of Wessex, William’s aunt), was brought to the hospital by William on Monday after her sickness became more acute.

Meanwhile, Palace sources tell PEOPLE that Queen Elizabeth, who was only told Kate was expecting once the couple had decided to head to hospital, will be unlikely to visit.

“She doesn’t normally go because it disrupts the running of the hospital,” the source said. “And the Duchess just wants to recover and get out.”

Kate’s office has cancelled all her planned engagements this week. She was due to appear at a charity day at a London bank Wednesday, a gala for the Centrepoint homeless charity and visit the military tournament this weekend.

[From People]

CB and I were just debating what this means – I mean, most women wouldn’t care if their grandmother-in-law didn’t visit them in the hospital, but this is not any other family, you know? The Queen has a vested interest in Kate’s health and the health of the royal fetus heir (what a gross way to say that). Still, Kate is likely only going to be in the hospital for a few more days, so I guess it’s no big deal. I guess the Queen will send flowers. I also think it’s weird that Charles hasn’t visited his daughter-in-law? And no one is asking about it either.

But! Pippa Middleton and Kate’s parents are going to spend time with her in the hospital. Carole and Michael Middleton have already left their Berkshire home and are said to be driving to London to see Kate. Carole also let it be known that she is “elated” with her daughter’s pregnancy.

Duchess Kate & Prince William are officially expecting their first baby!!

HUZZAH!!!!! ROYAL BABIES!!!!!!! Duchess Kate and Prince William have just announced that they are expecting their first child. You know what this means, right? This means that Life & Style was right! This means that Star Magazine was sort of right too. And this probably means that Duchess Kate is about three months along? Do you think they would announce it before then? Let’s backtrack… this means she got pregnant in the beginning of September? But that means she was newly knocked up during their Epic Asian Tour? That means the date of conception was probably during the vacation which had all of those crumpet-y, naked photos? Oh, my.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby, St James’s Palace announced today.

The palace said the duchess was admitted this afternoon to the King Edward VII Hospital in central London with acute morning sickness and is expected to stay in hospital for several days.

The couple married in April 2011.

[From The Telegraph]

As I said earlier when I was covering those tartan-y photos, Kate is looking pregnant these days. I think they made the choice to announce because it was getting to the point where she was barely able to hide it. Her face looked fuller, her waist wasn’t as tiny, and she changed her hair. I know the hair change thing isn’t proof-positive, but I know that a lot of women change their hair during their pregnancies.

Anyway, congrats to Kate and Will. This is going to be so much fun!! I can’t wait to see Kate really knocked up. I can’t wait to see her maternity style. I can’t wait to see if she uses her pregnancy as an excuse to do less work. I can’t wait until we have royal baby photos!!! I’m so excited.

UPDATE: So, she’s already in the hospital! She was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in London this morning with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, “an acute form of morning sickness, and is expected to remain there for several days.”

Duchess Kate has straight hair, repeats a red LK Bennett coat in Wales: pretty?

Here are some new photos of Duchess Kate and Prince William on Saturday in Wales. They attended the “Autumn International rugby match between Wales and New Zealand at the Millennium Stadium” in Cardiff, as well as a reception for the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust. So, like, it was a Welsh rugby match I guess, plus a charity stop. According to the Mail, Wales lost the rugby match, so the royals weren’t good luck charms or anything. Apparently, the red (which both William and Kate are wearing to various degrees) is for Wales… which I know from reading Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry book, in which she described Richard Burton’s gift to her of a beautiful ruby. He told her “Red is for Wales.” Which is as good a reason as any to have sexy with a Welshman… you might get a ruby out of it! I’m only half-joking.

Anyway, Kate wore a red/claret LA Bennett Ami coat, which is a repeat. Kate also wore this coat (with a different belt) last year in Copenhagen, when she and William did an appearance on behalf of UNICEF. For the Wales appearance, Kate wore the coat with its original belt, which looks much better than the tacky-looking, pleather-looking belt she wore last year. Her purse is apparently Gucci, which means it’s something pretty pricey. I don’t mind Kate’s repeats in general, and my only complaint is when she repeats an outfit to a public function with a few days or weeks of wearing it for the first time. Like, she wore a pink coatdress for the first time on a Friday, and then a few days later she wore it again. I find that lazy, especially when she has so many clothes already. But this is the first time we’ve seen this coat in a year, so I’m fine with it. Plus, I just love her in red. It’s a great color for her.

Shall we talk about Kate’s hair? NO SAUSAGE CURLS!!! Without the sausage curls, her hair looks really long, really shiny, really healthy, and really, really thick. Isn’t it weird that when her hair is curled, it looks increasingly fake (like a weave/extensions), but when it’s straight, it looks pretty real? That being said, I do think Kate is getting some “support” with her hair. It’s just not as obvious when her hair is straight.

Prince William & Kate only began “working” for an heir in the past few weeks

Ah, Royal Bump Watch is going full speed ahead now! All of the other Bump Watches pale in comparison to this current era of Bump Watch-ing. And you know why? Because the time is a’ coming. Duchess Kate knows it. Prince William knows it. The royal family knows it. The British public knows it. What do they know? That if William doesn’t knock up his wife within the next few months, there will be a guaranteed backlash against these two for not doing their “duty”. So, here we are, coming up on the two-year anniversary of their engagement announcement, and the baby rumors are flying! A few days ago, one of Kate’s “friends” (?) claimed that Kate was already knocked up and looking to announce it around Christmas. But Us Weekly says – in their cover story! – that Kate and William have only JUST started trying, so just wait for it.

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for since the April 2011 Royal Wedding — a royal pregnancy! All the talk about the couple’s friends starting families must have gotten to Duchess Kate and Prince William because they are now ready to start a family!

According to Us Weekly, a source close to the couple says, “They’re excited at the prospect of becoming parents,” and confirms they’re “working on it. In a dream situation, they’d love to be a step closer at Christmas.”

Adds a source close to Kate, “They have been on such a high since getting married. It’s time for the next step — Kate is hoping she and William can become parents in 2013.”

Though the breathless bump watch started immediately after their April 2011 wedding, the couple had a top-secret plan all along. Their first two years of marriage would be devoted to work, and Operation Heir would begin only after their grueling royal tour of Southeast Asia finished up in September.

“Once their malaria medication had run its course,” says an insider, “then it was safe to start. So it’s only been a matter of weeks.”

Whenever it does happen, says a source, Kate, like any first-time mom, will wait until just after the first trimester to share the news wide. “It won’t be hidden,” says the source.

What wonderful timing is this all — Christmas is around the corner and the couple just purchased a new home in London’s Kensington Palace, a four-story, 20-room flat undergoing a $1.5 million renovation, according to Us Weekly.

Just like Will, Kate wants two children, according to a longtime friend of Kate’s, and we are starting to think this new house would be perfect to bring kids into!

The source tells Us Weekly that “a baby is the main reason for the move. They want to bring a child up in a secure environment.”

When it comes to raising their future child, “Kate will let her children have fun and freedom, but she will also make sure they do what is best for them,” says Kate’s friend.

[From Us Weekly & Hollywood Life]

I mean, it’s going to happen. It’s not like all of this hand-wringing and Bump Watching is for naught. I don’t really understand why we have to pretend that William and Kate are only doing an extensive and costly renovation of Kensington Palace “for the baby” – they’re doing it because that their future home, where they will live for decades (probably). Meanwhile, I think all of the talk about Kate’s weight is a diversion – of course she’ll be able to get pregnant! (I think.) Keep your eye on the ball – the issue isn’t “Can Kate get pregnant?” The issue is “Will Kate use her eventual pregnancy as an excuse to not do any royal work for five years, after which she’ll get pregnant again?”

Are Prince William & Duchess Kate finally going to become full-time royals in 2013?

Back in May, the British Royal Air Force let it be known that they were displeased with Prince William. William had been trying to balance his RAF job with his royal duties, all while trying to maintain his extensive vacation schedule with Duchess Kate, and it seemed like he was falling short with the RAF. His RAF superiors basically gave William an ultimatum: choose between his military career or his royal duties, because trying to balance both would be impossible. He was given until the end of the year.

This goes to one particular criticism I’ve had of William for years now – while I think it’s great that he’s following in the royal tradition of military service, and I applaud his commitment to the British military, this was never going to be his career. The RAF was always going to be wasting hundreds of thousands of pounds training William for a job he would only be in for a couple of years, before he would eventually and inevitably give it up for a career as a full-time royal. While it’s great that William got to experience a military life, it definitely feels like it was a waste of time, money and training that would have been better spent on an RAF candidate who was actually going to make the RAF his full-time career. Plus, over the past year, it got to the point where it seemed like “living in Wales, having a quiet life in the country” was part of the larger excuse for why William and Kate did so little royal work when in reality, Kate spends most of her time in London, shopping and going to lunch and getting her hair done.

Anyway, royal gossips are trying to read the tea leaves and figure out if William and Kate are going to leave Wales and begin moving into full-time royal work. Apparently, William and Kate have begun to hire more staffers and their Kensington Palace renovation will be completed soon. So… they’re feathering their London nest:

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are ready to establish their own powerbase at Kensington Palace. Until now, William, Kate and Prince Harry have shared an office with Prince Charles at St James’s Palace. But they are about to create their own court in time for Harry’s return from Afghanistan in January More than a dozen staff will begin the switch to the Royal residence in West London next month.

Kate and William, both 30, have a cottage on the site but will soon set up home in Apartment 1A, which used to be occupied by Princess Margaret. The move is viewed as another sign that William is preparing to leave his role as a search-and-rescue pilot at RAF Anglesey to begin a life of Royal duty with his wife.

‘The new set-up will be known as the Household Office of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, and will be transferred from St James’s Palace in stages,’ said an aide. ‘Charles has agreed to fund the private office out of his existing income from the Duchy of Cornwall and has even offered to foot the bill for Kate’s not inconsiderable working wardrobe.’

Another source adds: ‘The irony is Kensington Palace is where Diana fashioned her powerbase after her divorce from Charles. There is no rift with Charles, just a recognition the time has come for the boys and Kate to create their own full identity.’

By next spring, each of the young Royals will have a private secretary.

Vicar’s daughter Rebecca Deacon will support Kate and former Ministry of Defence press secretary Miguel Head will act for William, while Harry’s aide has yet to be appointed.

Helen Asprey will serve as personal private secretary and confidante to all three. The aides will be overseen by long-time Royal gatekeeper Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, who will act as principal private secretary and equerry. The Kensington Palace retinue will include representatives of the trio’s charity foundation, security staff and press secretaries, such as Kate and William’s new media guru Ed Perkins. The office will also house admin staff who will manage the rising number of public engagements undertaken by the three Royals.

[From The Mail]

I hope this finally ends the contradictory messaging from William and Kate about their staff and just how “self-sufficient” they are and have been this whole time. William and Kate have ALWAYS had extensive staff at their disposal, but they played fast-and-loose with the press about it because technically all of their staffers were employed by Prince Charles. Kate and William tried to play it in the press that they were so humble and modern and self-sufficient and they barely had anyone helping them when really they’ve always been coddled by a full staff of personal and professional helpers. My problem isn’t that they have a dozen people working with them already – I just hated that they never admitted it, and that part of their “Cambridge Brand” was that they were just like any normal couple. Of course, if they had admitted that they had a full staff a year ago, I think people would have asked, “So why don’t they do more royal work?” Haha, JK. We asked that already!

Anyway, I would enjoy it if William did formally begin to be a full-time royal, and Kate too. There was some talk that he would take another position, this one in Scotland, for a few years in which he and Kate could continue to not do any heavy lifting with their royal duties. But I think that dream might be over, don’t you?

Duchess Kate ‘only has herself to blame’ for Crumpet-gate, says Trump

In case you were expecting more photos of William and Kate dancing seductively (in her case) and robotically (in his case), I have some bad news. The Epic Royal Tour of Asia and the South Pacific is OVER. Wah! Will & Kate stopped by Australia yesterday, then caught a flight back to England. I envy various parts of Will and Kate’s life together – the jewelry, the endless vacations, the nice clothes – but I do not envy all of that flying. You can see some pics of Will and Kate in Australia here. Kate broke out the same pair of navy skinny jeans that she wore endlessly during the Olympics.

Meanwhile, a walking combover with a crappy attitude has chimed in about Kate’s Boob-and-Crumpet-gate.

Donald Trump is not one to shy away from commenting on whatever he feels like, and this time he decided to share his two cents on Kate Middleton‘s controversial topless photos.

The real estate mogul and host of The Apprentice tweeted on Sept. 17, “Kate Middleton is great–but she shouldn’t be sunbathing in the nude–only herself to blame.”

He then continued on his rant, adding his own piece of paparazzi advice.

“Who wouldn’t take Kate’s picture and make lots of money if she does the nude sunbathing thing. Come on Kate!”

But his thoughts on the situation didn’t end there. The Donald stopped by FoxNews’ Fox and Friends to elaborate on the photos.

“While we’re all fans of Kate, can you imagine why she would ever be out in the nude? Why would she be standing in the nude in a swimming pool or wherever she was. She’s Kate. It’s terrible what they did, it’s terrible to take pictures, but boy, how can you do a thing so stupid?”

[From Hollywood Life]

Just the sheer fact that The Donald (UGH) is the one bashing her makes me want to defend her. But… yeah, I just don’t want to get into it anymore. We’ve already discussed this crap exhaustively. Incidentally, although Will and Kate won their injunction in French court, and the tabloid Closer had to turn over all of their boob-y materials, other European tabloids are going ahead and publishing more of the photos. Denmark, Sweden and Italy all have publications willing to stand up to the British royal family, it seems.

Last thing – Star Mag put Kate’s Bump Watch on their cover this week, claiming that she’s totally and definitely gestating. Except that Star Mag ‘Shopped the cover image of Kate – go here to see The Mail call out Star.

Prince William & Kate show off their royal dance skills in Tuvalu: adorable?

So many Duchess Kate and Prince William photos! Have you enjoyed the past week and a half worth of constant photos? I have. It’s not as exciting as their Canadian and American trip last year, but I think Kate has grown more comfortable and confident in her role, and that’s nice to see. In fact, if we’re judging Kate on how she behaved during this tour, and how there were absolutely NO reports about Kate pulling a diva act regarding her topless photos, I think she definitely comes out worlds ahead in public opinion. She did her job with grace, she didn’t leak any nasty comments, she didn’t act embarrassed or ashamed, and she seemed to enjoy herself at every stop during their tour.

Anyway, these are more photos of Kate and Will from the past few day – some are from their last hours on the Solomon Islands, and the rest are from their stop in Tuvalu. While in Tuvalu, Kate and Will donned grass skirts and flowered headpieces, and they danced with the Tuvaluan people in some kind of ceremony. There’s video of the dancing!

Is it just me or is Kate kind of cute and sexy dancer? She wasn’t really following the moves of the women around her, she was just kind of doing whatever she felt like, and it was adorable. William, on the other hand, looked like he was about to break out The Robot.

By the way, Kate’s long, peasant-style dress is Alice by Temperley. I would love this dress in shades of blue and white.

Duchess Kate & Pr. William win in French court, criminal investigation launched

These are more photos from Duchess Kate and Prince William’s Solomon Islands trip, which I believe was the next-to-last stop of their Asian and Pacific tour – Tuvalu is the last stop, and they’re already there. What Kate Wore doesn’t have the ID on the pale yellow dress – all they have is a confirmation from the Palace that it’s by “an independent dressmaker”. Meanwhile, the bright yellow shirtdress is by Jaeger, a popular, relatively inexpensive UK label. I’m not particularly in love with either dress, but I don’t hate the pale yellow one. It looks pretty cute.

As for the Boob & Crumpet-gate, the French court has already made their ruling on the emergency filing by Will and Kate’s lawyers. The basic gist? The court said the French tabloid, Closer, is barred from publishing any more photos of the couple, and the mag has to turn over all of the photos to Will and Kate.

A French court Tuesday ruled in favor of Kate Middleton in wake of her topless photo scandal, as the Duchess of Cambridge waved to onlookers as she and Prince William left the Solomon Islands, not showing the slightest stress in the middle of the growing controversy.

The court in Nanterre, France Tuesday confiscated the digital copies of the topless photos published by the French magazine Closer, and ruled the publication is barred from further publishing topless images of the beauty.

The court also launched a criminal investigation of the photographers involved (and Closer magazine) as to whether privacy laws were broken with the pictures, Reuters reports.

Leaving the Solomon Islands, Kate looked resplendent in a primrose dress with lace overlay as she and Will prepared to leave for Tuvalu on the last leg of their Diamond Jubilee tour of Southeast Asia.

As we previously reported, Last Friday, Closer published a 5-page spread of topless photos of Kate, hyping the issue saying, “Discover the incredible pictures of the future Queen of England as you’ve never seen her before…and as you will never see her again!”

Tuesday’s court ruling only affects the French publisher. Italian magazine Chi published a 26-page spread of the images Monday. (Noteworthy is that former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi owns the publishing house that released both publications.) The Irish Daily Star also published the topless photos.

Yeah, the problem is definitely that the photographer (and Closer?) have already re-sold the photos to the Italian tabloid, plus I keep hearing rumors that the photos have been sold to some American outlets, maybe even p0rn outlets. This French court ruling doesn’t apply to those sales – if Will and Kate want to bar American or Italian publication of the photos, they’ll have to go to court in the US and Italy. But I’m sure Will and Kate consider this ruling a victory – because it is! And a criminal investigation is being launched, so maybe more will come of it.
