US Weekly: Rachel McAdams & Josh Lucas have split up

purple ball 210109

It seems there may be more to this whole “Bradley Cooper will have dinner with any random va-jay-jay” notion we’ve been developing. It was reported over the weekend by none other than People Magazine that Bradley Cooper went out to dinner with Little Miss Dimples herself, Rachel McAdams. I kind of thought “oh, whatever” because I was pretty sure that Rachel was still dating Josh “Matching Dimples” Lucas. Turns out, not so much. The print edition of US Weekly is reporting (story via LaineyGossip) that Rachel and Josh are Splitsville. They cite a report that Josh was in a club recently trying to, in Lainey’s words, “f-ck his way through his heartache.” Rachel and Josh have been dating since January, so they had a half-decent run of it. Do you think the fact that they were the most dimpled couple in Hollywood got to them?

It ended eventually and for a while there, especially this past spring, it looked like The Notebook had been burned beyond recognition.

Rachel seemed completely in love with Josh Lucas – kissing on the street, love on bikes, apartment hunting in the Village.

Passionate but short. It is no more. McGoslings today are rejoicing.

Because according to Us Weekly, Rachel and Josh are over. He was spotted at some club the other day slobbering over a random, drunk and douchey and clearly trying to f-ck his way through his heartache.

Before you bust out the dvd however please note – Rachel was also spotted. And not alone. At a concert with a mystery man, am told he looks like an “agent type”…

Reconciliation with Ryan? The door is open. But it might not stay that way for long.

[From Lainey Gossip]

I’m kind of hoping this is true, and they’re really broken up. I’d say it’s a good possibility – they haven’t been photographed together in a few months. That doesn’t really mean anything, they could have just been careful not to be seen out together, or they could have been busy doing other stuff. Back in April, there was even a rumor that they were looking to move in together, but it seemed a little soon. Nothing ever came of the moving-in thing, as far as I know, so that means they’re break-up won’t be as awkward as it could be. You know who Josh would be cute with? Drew Barrymore! I hear she’s in the market for some new meat.

Here’s Rachel at Comic Con with Robert Downey Jr. on July 24th. Images thanks to WENN.com .

Bradley Cooper has dinner with… Rachel McAdams

calvin klein high line 160609
Bradley Cooper, 34, may have jetted off to Madrid with Renee Zellweger over the weekend, but it doesn’t seem like he’s ready to commit to the tiny Bridget Jones star yet. People Magazine reports that Bradley had an intimate two hour dinner date with lovely Canadian actress Rachel McAdams, 30, in New York on Friday night. Witnesses tell People, which covers this story in their “What You Missed Over the Weekend” video segment, that Cooper and McAdams were having a great time at NY restaurant Odeon and were seen laughing and joking.

Bradley and Rachel were both in 2005′s Wedding Crashers together so maybe they were catching up on old times. It’s hard not to think that Cooper is some kind of cad after all the stories we’ve heard about his dates but maybe he’s cultivating that image so that it will keep his name in the press. At least there are no paparazzi photos of the dinner – like when he was out separately with Jennifer Aniston and Renee Zellweger.

I kind of feel bad for Zellweger, 40, because it always seems like she’s setting herself up for heartbreak. She comes across as so timid and fragile in interviews, and she had that failed five month marriage to Kenny Chesney. The last we heard of her love life she was quietly dating MSNBC anchor Dan Abrams, but that relationship was apparently over earlier this year. Renee told Glamour in May that she was happy and enjoyed being single, calling it “it’s a pretty self-indulgent lifestyle,” but added that she wanted a guy who was well rounded and passionate about life. She also said that she reveres her privacy and that she won’t talk about who she is dating “Because it’s dumb. It leads to nowhere good. I let everybody else in the media do that for me. It takes the responsibility off my shoulders!” They’re sure doing it now, and I doubt Renee is comfortable with that, especially now that the news is out that her new boyfriend is not exclusive. Maybe the great sex more than makes up for the compromises to her privacy.

Star: Jude Law’s baby-mama is Rachel McAdams’ sister

Synecdoche, New York Premiere - 2008 TIFF
Many gossip sites and tabloids have been playing a little guessing game ever since Jude Law’s spokesperson announced that Jude was expecting his fourth child this fall. The spokesperson was very cryptic about the whole thing, saying that Jude is “no longer in a relationship” with the woman, and that the whole thing was “an entirely private matter.” Some people went through the list of women Jude was connected with last year or this – everyone from ex-wife Sadie Frost, to ex-girlfriend Sienna Miller, to model/actress Lily Cole. My thoughts were that the baby-mama was not any kind of public figure or celebrity, but perhaps some crew member or extra on Sherlock Holmes, the film he was making in December.

Star has a theory – and I should make it clear, this is just a theory. Just judging this from the available information, it sounds like a pretty good, gossipy, juicy theory, but it is far from confirmed. Star claims that the baby-mama is none other than the younger sister of Jude’s Sherlock Holmes costar, Canadian actress Rachel McAdams. Her name is Kayleen, and according to her IMDB page, she’s a 27-year-old makeup artist. According to Star, she only recently told Jude about the baby. It’s also claimed that Rachel is “pissed” about the whole situation. Jeez, if this is true, this is going to a really awkward Sherlock Holmes promotional tour:

In a carefully worded statement, Jude Law announced that he’s expecting a child with an undisclosed woman who he’s no longer seeing. And while he may not want to tell you the identity of his baby mama, we do!

Yesterday, a rep for the father of four said that “following a relationship last year, he has been advised that he is to be the father of a child due in the fall of this year. Mr. Law is no longer in a relationship with the individual concerned, but he intends to be a fully supportive part of the child’s life.”

Now speculation is surrounding the sister of Jude’s Sherlock Holmes costar Rachel McAdams — 27-year-old Hollywood make-up artist Kayleen McAdams. YourTango.com posted a story today identifying her as the “secret mother.”

Jude and Kayleen hooked up last Christmas in New York when the actor was working on Holmes. She is reportedly seven months pregnant and just informed him recently. Jude is said to have broken the news to his ex-wife, Sadie Frost, and three kids — Rafferty, 12, Iris, 8, and Rudy, 6 — on Tuesday. (He also adopted Sadie’s son Finlay, 18).

As for Rachel, she’s said to be “pissed” about the situation.

The last time Jude — who will be appearing in Hamlet on Broadway this fall, when the wee one is due — made big headlines, it was when he cheated on his then-fiancée Sienna Miller with his children’s nanny.

[From Star Magazine]

So, does anyone think there’s any truth to it? I’d say chances are pretty good, actually. It would answer some of the other questions I had surrounding this whole situation. Like, why is Jude announcing the pregnancy now, in what is presumably the seventh month of the baby-mama’s pregnancy? Answer: Because she just told him about it. Or why wouldn’t Jude know about this whole thing before now? Because she was probably in Canada, and Jude wasn’t. Now I have new questions. Like, how long before Rachel McAdams kicks Jude in the gonads?

Sherlock Holmes trailer featuring shirtless Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law

The trailer for Sherlock Holmes starring Robert Downey, Jr., Jude Law and Rachel McAdams is out. I’m surprised that they’re releasing it this early as it seems like they were just filming last month. Plus the movie is not out until Christmas. Sherlock Holmes is directed by Guy Ritchie, who co-wrote the screenplay based on the famous detective series by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle set in the late 19th and early 20th century. It’s hard to tell if the movie will be decent or not based on these clips. They make it look like a mix of a gag-type buddy comedy with a serious action film. This could either be brilliantly entertaining or somewhat of a dud. I hope it’s good for the actors’ sake, though, as I like both Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. I can go either way on director Guy Ritchie. He had the sense to divorce Madonna finally, but he did stay married to her for eight years. That’s got to take a high level of masochism.

Thanks to TrailerAddict.com via Showhype for this trailer. Here are two stills from the movie, thanks to AllMoviePhoto.com. Robert Downey, Jr. is ripped!

New Couple Alert: Rachel McAdams and Josh Lucas

purple ball 210109
I was never emotionally invested in Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as a couple, in real life or on the screen. The Notebook left me cold, which caused many friends to wonder if I was dead inside. I just found it all too sappy. But Ryan Gosling is incredible – a wonderful actor, seemingly a pretty cool, laid-back guy who gives interesting interviews, however rare. Rachel McAdams is kind of “meh” – very pretty, talented, but not all that interesting. How she kept Gosling’s interest on-and-off for several years, I’ll never know, but now it looks like she’s definitely moving on.

Rachel McAdams was spotted in Washington DC making out with Josh Lucas, whose most famous roles are… Sweet Home Alabama? That was the only one that came to mind, but despite a lacking career, Lucas is really cute. And he and Rachel have matching dimples!

Does this mean we’ll never get to see Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling live happily ever after?

Five months ago, Rachel and her Notebook costar Ryan were giving their relationship another try, but it seems like the actress has moved on — to actor Josh Lucas.

Rachel and Josh celebrated Barack Obama’s presidency at the Moet-sponsored Purple Ball in DC on Tuesday night and were seen smooching, reports New York Daily News’ Gatecrasher column.

“They were so lovey-dovey,” a spy told the paper, “nibbling on each other’s necks, gazing into each other’s eyes and doing a lot of flirty touching.”

Josh’s relationship history includes twos year as Salma Hayek’s companion. Rachel most notably dating Ryan from 2004 to 2007 before trying again over the summer. Ryan told GQ magazine that after they split the first time, strangers would come up to him on the street and tell him they were mad at him for “letting a girl like that go.”

From Star Magazine

Calling Josh Lucas “Salma Hayek’s companion” makes Salma sound just awful, like she’s Norma Desmond to Josh’s hapless screenwriter. I think coming out of a relationship with Salma Hayek is always going to seem like a downgrade, but if this McAdams-Lucas pairing holds up, they’ll be a very cute couple. Just a little off-topic, but what was Rachel doing in Washington? She’s Canadian!

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are back together

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams – who were named cutest couple ever (by me… very prestigious) have gotten back together! Cue hysterical girlie shrieks! It’s hard to say why these two were so adorable together – somehow they just seemed to fit. And they were pretty low key – you’d never accuse them of courting the paparazzi, but they also didn’t seem the type to get married and then never deny it (something only jerks do, in my still unchanged opinion).

Gosling and McAdam’s friends confirm that the two are dating again after breaking up around March of 2007.

On again! Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams have gotten back together, a source tells Usmagazine.com. “They’ve been talking a lot,” a source tells Us. “Their friends are quite pleased that they’re getting back together and are trying to give them space.”

McAdams recently made an appearance at Gosling’s weekly deejay gig at Green Door lounge in Hollywood. The two began dating shortly after wrapping their 2004 romantic film The Notebook.

“She’s inspired me to do so much,” Gosling told reporters shortly before their 2007 split. “She’s the most discerning person I’ve ever met. She’ll read a script 100 times. She’s relentless.”

After they called it quits, Gosling told GQ that women were “mad” at him. “A girl came up to me on the street and she almost smacked me,” he said. “Like, ‘How could you? How could you let a girl like that go?’” Of their split, Gosling said, “The only thing I remember is we both went down swingin’ and we called it a draw.”

[From Us Magazine]

When they broke things off it was supposedly because Gosling “needed some space.” Apparently a year and a half was enough space. Hopefully they’ll make it this time – the obviously managed to stay on good terms.

Ryan Gosling Wasn’t Fired For Being a Plump Diva

top-jlv-000412.jpg

Ryan Gosling seems to be having a rough month. After his recent break up with Rachel McAdams he was reportedly fired from the set of “Lovely Bones.” Rumors began to fly as to the reason behind Peter Jackson’s replacement of Ryan.Weight issues and Peter’s reported dislike of Gosling began to run through the rumor mill. However, the truth according to Ryan is that he was simply too young for the part.

“The 26-year-old said his young age was behind the decision to replace him in the film, which is based on the book by Alice Sebold. [He told] Parade magazine: “The age of the character versus my real age was always a concern of mine. Peter and I tried to make it work and ultimately it just didn’t. I think the film is much better off with Mark Wahlberg in that role. Peter Jackson is an incredible filmmaker and I’m here to tell you that he has things up his sleeve that are going to blow people’s minds. I’m going to be the first person in line to buy tickets.”

[Digital Spy]

Mark Wahlberg has taken the reigns of the role. The premise is that the character a grieving father, Jack Salmon, who is dealing with the emotional trauma after his daughter is raped and murdered. Ryan insists that he and Peter Jackson are still on good terms.

Ryan was recently seen at West 14th Street Urban Outfitters buying flannel shirts in bulk.

“He had the biggest shopping bag” and a “huge backpack” that kept setting off the store’s security alarm. When Gosling was finally let loose, a flirty shopper asked, “Trying to steal stuff?” – to which Gosling joked, “Yeah, a necklace.” A fellow shopper recounted.

Oh please say he isn’t running off into the mountains to become a hermit. He would be one sexy hermit though.

Ryan Gosling talks about his breakup with Rachel McAdams

Canadian actor Ryan Gosling has spoken out about his split from his longterm girlfriend and costar in The Notebook, Rachel McAdams. He told GQ Magazine that he’s been confronted by accusatory women on the street who wonder why it didn’t work out with McAdams. He said he feels like he should be giving strangers hugs to comfort them over their misplaced heartbreak that he’s no longer with McAdams. Gosling also comes across like a gentleman in the way he describes both his courtship with McAdams and how they broke up. He said that their romance was better than The Notebook, and to compare it to that movie does it a disservice.

I really like how he explains their breakup, because it sounds like something your grandpa would say with a wise look and you’d say “I never thought of it like that, but that’s a really good way to describe it.” He said they “Went down swinging and called it a draw.” Who talks like that except cool old grandfathers? It’s also a very gracious way of saying they fought a lot and that it was mutual:

“I mean, God bless The Notebook,” Gosling says. “It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life. But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that.”

They broke up, is the thing. It’s been a few months. Gosling says it wasn’t the attention that did it, but other than that he doesn’t really know what to say. “The only thing I remember is we both went down swingin’ and we called it a draw,” he says.

The Notebook people have taken it harder. “Women are mad at me,” Gosling says with a rueful smile. “A girl came up to me on the street and she almost smacked me. Like, ‘How could you? How could you let a girl like that go?’ I feel like I want to give people hugs, they seem so sad. Rachel and I should be the ones getting hugs! Instead, we’re consoling everybody else.”

[From Men.Style.Com]

It seems like Gosling and McAdams had a a tumultuous relationship, at least at the end. They were rumored to have broken up and to have reunited several times before it was official. They may have been engaged at one point as McAdams was seen out wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger. No announcement or anything official came of that, and like many couples who started out with a lot of passion it sounds like it ended that way too. It’s nice to know that Gosling has fond memories of their time together and it’s refreshing how he manages to tell the truth about how it ended without trashing McAdams or placing blame. It kind of makes me sad and want a hug, and if Gosling was around I’d be sure to hit him up for one.

For his part Gosling is a lot more huggable lately. He has gained a considerable amount of weight in a short period of time for two roles, for Lars and The Real Girl in which he romances one of those silicone Real Dolls, and for an upcoming role as the father of a murdered teenager in The Lovely Bones.

Maybe it’s because I’m old, but Gosling looks hotter to me with a few extra pounds, like he would give me the time of day and rub my feet afterwards.

Thanks to WENN for the picture below of Gosling at the premiere of Lars and The Real Girl in NY on 10/3/07. He is also shown with his sister, Mandi, at the LA premiere on 10/2. Thanks to PRPhotos.
