Paris and Nicole have amped up their “we’ve made up, watch our dumb reality show for yet another season” campaign. They were photographed all around town: visiting Nicole’s dad on 10/8, leaving touching notes on the grave of a friend on 10/9, shopping for dog beds and visiting a book store on 10/10.

When the news first came out that Paris and Nicole had made up, I said “I would love to see these two together again. I’m kind of sick of each of them separately, but if they became friends again there might be some fun stories and pictures.” Boy do I ever take that back. How stupid could I be? Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton have famously buried the hatchet with a public visit to a Hollywood steakhouse. We reported last week that Nicole and Paris met up at Nicole’s dad’s house, and now they’ve made sure to let the whole world know they’re friends again by stepping out together.

Commentor xiaoecho says that Paris and Nicole never really broke up, and that they kept up the “not talking” act to drum up publicity for their terrible “Simple Life” reality show. If that’s true it’s the first I’ve heard of it, and it seems like they would have been caught together at some point since the paparrazi are camped outside both their houses. They would probably like the public to believe that recent problems in their lives - Paris’ DUI and fight with Shanna Moakler, along with Nicole’s breakup with Brody, brought them back together.

Publicity for the new season of “The Simple Life” is probably the main motivation for their high-profile reconciliation. Indeed, this is supported by a statement from the series’ producer, who admits that the public wants to see them as friends again and that new show will begin taping next month:

“The Simple Life” producer says he wanted to put Nicole and Paris on a desert island with a “bunch of survivalists” and the idea bothered them so much that they teamed up to make sure they didn’t have to go through with it.

Now they’re set to be incompetent camp counselors, if you give a shit, and the series will use their estrangement and manufactured make-up as fodder for more shows. It’s sure to be as bad or worse as the previous seasons of the “Simple Life,” and I’m content to sit back and read other people’s accounts of how awful it is.

Pete Doherty is out of his reportedly successful stint at court-ordered rehab, and the British rags are buzzing that he’s going to marry Kate Moss soon. We’ve heard this story before, with Pete bragging to his mates that he was going to marry Kate during an earlier reconciliation. Kate and Pete were said to be planning a wedding in Ibiza last month when one of Pete’s many drug busts forced the postponement of their nuptuals.

Now comes news that the crazy couple wants to move to America, and are considering buying a place in New Jersey!

Jersey City is hot right now, and Hoboken isn’t bad either. It would be hysterical to see these two settle down in Jersey, and it seems like a great choice for them. Connecticut is also close to New York city, but somehow Jersey seems more fitting.

Supermodel Kate Moss and notorious junkie Pete Doherty were reumored to be engaged a few weeks ago, and were said to be planning a quickie wedding in Ibiza. Pete was ordered off to rehab after another drug arrest and/or trial, I can’t keep up, which put a damper on their plans. The lovebirds are still together, though, and they were spotted in flagrante outside on a bench at Pete’s rehab facility:

Everyone’s buzzing about Kate Moss’ new look. The stick-thin supermodel donned some plain high-waisted carpenter jeans at Fashion Week, perhaps signifying the demise of the skinny jean trend. Her fashion change could have been influenced by this incident at Pete’s rehab facility where her skinny jeans gave her away.

If only she’d buck the “dating a druggie” trend too.

Thanks to Haute Gossip for pointing out that Kate Hudson has a bare left ring finger in these candids of her leaving Nobu in Malibu with some poorly-dressed friends on Friday. Word was that Kate and Chris Hudson might reconcile after announcing their separation just three weeks ago. They were seen out with their three year-old son, Ryder, and there was a rumor that they were going to attend a NASCAR event together. That doesn’t seem too romantic, and it might not have been enough to save their marriage.

Chris was said to have involved Kate in threesomes and group sex while on tour with his band, The Black Crowes. There was a recent blind item in the NY Post that suggested that a famous woman involved in a high-profile breakup was more into the women in the menage a trois she was involved with than her husband. Many people assumed it was about Hudson. Let’s hope the chicks she liked were hotter than the ones she’s hanging out with now.

There’s a lot you can say about Tom Cruise, but he does seem like a geniunely nice guy, albeit completely batshit crazy and often lying through his teeth. He has wacked out beliefs and is so deep in the closet there are hanger marks on his face (I stole that from commetor Clarimonde on a Robbie Williams post), but people praise his down-to-earth demeanor as he engages them on a level only a cult member can manage. It’s called “love bombing” and is a common tactic of cults to get people to feel so accepted and warmly welcomed that they’re sucked into the black hole of endless re-education and seizure of all their worldly assets.

Cruise is pretty good at that “love bombing” and he turned on the charm on behalf of his flailing career to apologize to Brooke Shields for criticizing her last year for using antidepressants:

How coincidental that Cruise apologized to Shields right after he was dropped from Paramount for his “recent conduct.” While less than amazing box-office performance is more likely to blame, it is said that the wife of Paramount head Sumner Redstone was completely enraged by Cruise’s comments blasting Shields for using drugs to overcome postpartum depression and told her husband that Cruise would lose his female fan base.

In case you forgot what Cruise said at the time, he made an impassioned argument on The Today Show that there was “no such thing as a chemical imbalance,” and that he knew the history of drug development and psychiatry while asserting that Matt Lauer was uninformed for defending the fact that antidepressants work.

It looks like Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson aren’t over after all. Just two weeks ago the couple announced that they were separating after 6 years of marriage. Speculation was rampant that Kate was romancing her “You, Me and Dupree” co-star Owen Wilson. Wilson threatened to sue over allegations of infidelity, and insisted that he’s not with Kate and is single. Hudson and Robinson were seen out with their three year-old son, Ryder, less than a week after they announced their separation. It looks like they may be trying to give it another go, and Page Six reports that they’re going to watch NASCAR together. Yeah, that will cement a shaky relationship:

Just because they’re going to an event together doesn’t mean that they’re back for good. It just looks like they’re trying though, and good for them I guess. There was a rumor that they broke up due to Chris’ appetite for dirty sex, and that he got Kate involved in threesomes and orgies. Given some of the statements she’s made to the press about fidelity, marriage and relationships, it’s not out of the question.

A new article in Life and Style claims that as Richie Sambora and Heather Locklear’s high-profile divorce is close to reaching a settlement, Richie is having second thoughts and realizes how much he loves his wife of 11 years. He even sent a $500 pink and red rose bouquet to Heather.

Wow. He must realize what he’s missing with Heather. Sambora was said to be totally surprised to be served divorce papers this February and even denied to the press that he and Heather were split. Maybe he’s not ready to let go.

If that’s true, it’s got to piss off his media-whore girlfriend, Denise Richards. Denise recently reached an amicable “interim” settlement with her ex, Charlie Sheen, who she famously skewered in the press on the eve of his children’s clothing line launch. Denise didn’t renew a restraining order against Sheen and according to their lawyers they’re getting along.

Denise and Richie were said to be planning a wedding for early next year, and Denise was seen wearing what looked like an engagement ring. She followed Richie to Europe while he was touring with Bon Jovi and seemed really needy in the relationship. If this is true then he’s obviously sick of her. Men don’t usually like women who hang all over them.

Kate Moss and Pete Doherty are back together, at least for now. I haven’t kept up with troubled Pete like I should, but he had a chemical implant put in his stomach to help him kick heroin and was said to have tried to go to rehab again for like the tenth time.

Whatever he’s done, it worked well enough to help him get back together with the love of his life, waif supermodel Kate:

Kate has plenty of substance abuse problems on her own. While she may have kicked the hard stuff, she still knows how to drink like a fish. She royally pissed off her friend, Jade Jagger, by getting wasted and running up a nearly $10,000 hotel bill in Amsterdam. She stuck her surprised hosts, The Rolilng Stones, with the tab. She offered to pay after leaving the country, but the damage was already done.

Kate wasn’t with Pete in these pictures taken at the wedding of Primal Scream star Bobbie Gillespie on 7/29. She seems to have brought a long-haired bearded guy as her date, or that might just be someone she’s hanging out with at the party.

Jack Nicholson and a normal-looking Lara Flynn Boyle were photographed on holiday together in Saint Tropez.

Now I had conveniently forgotten that Lara Flyn Boyle also dated David Spade, but Jack Nicholson was definitely a move up for her at the time.

Now that Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock also reunited in Saint Tropez - and are getting married - exes around the world are going to flock to the French Riveria to get back that certain spark that cheating and fighting put out the last time around.
