It’s widely been reported that Pete Doherty wants to win back Kate Moss. Because their relationship obviously worked out so well the first time. Instead of showing up at her doorstep with a bouquet of flowers, Pete has decided to go the nontraditional – albeit just as romantic – route of having Kate’s favorite deceased cat formed into a ring. How could this possibly go wrong?

Pete Doherty is planning to have the ashes of his cat Shelley made into a diamond ring.

The singer has commissioned the piece from US company LifeGem and insiders claims Pete, 29, is planning to give the sparkler to ex Kate Moss, 34.

Shelley was her favourite pet when they dated last year, reports the Daily Star, and he’s hoping the gift will help win her back now she’s split from Jamie Hince, 39.

Kate is reported to have dumped The Kills star because he was spending too much time with bandmate Alison Mosshart.

‘Kate was upset with Jamie because he often doesn’t pick up his phone when he’s with her,’ a source tells the News Of The World.

‘Kate shouted at him that he has a closeness with her that they don’t have.’

So, to sum up: Kate Moss: jealous of ex-boyfriend’s bandmate; Pete Doherty making cat Shelly into diamond ring. Essentially, everything is status quo in the lives of these two.

This is one of those stories you’d assume is a crazy internet rumor, except that because it’s Pete Doherty it is entirely possible. In fact I think the odds are much greater that Pete plans on turning Shelly into a diamond (I’m assuming that’s how it works; I’m way too afraid to look at the company’s website to find out) than him writing a love poem or something. Unless he wrote it in his own blood. To go with the blood artwork that he did. I’m not even trying to be outlandish here. Pete did do that. Hopefully he has no more pets in his possession, or I’m afraid Pete might come up with the materials for a matching pendant.

I’ve always felt that one of the most important lies you tell in a relationship is that you’ve only ever loved/cared about the person you’re with right then. Sure we all know the other person has been with people before us - but the polite thing to do is act like you’ve never even known love or passion until this particular partner came along. That’s my number one ingredient for a healthy relationship. And it’s worked very unsuccessfully so far.

But imagine you’re Jennifer Aniston. Sure, you’ve been with your fair share of guys, but nothing particularly odd in either direction. Then you fall for John Mayer and follow him around the world like a professional groupie. How in the world do you pretend that he hasn’t been with scads of random chicks? Especially when you find their old love letters hidden in his guitar case?

John Mayer can’t keep those pesky ex-es away. His girlfriend Jennifer Aniston found “a batch” of love letters from his ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson in his guitar case. “Jennifer was more hurt than angry at the discovery,” said a source. “The letters surprisingly were very touching and well written.” Aniston appeared to be fine after Mayer smoothed things over. Her rep called the tale “completely fabricated.”

I don’t believe anything PR reps say anymore; and I’d much prefer to believe this story is true. The only reason I kinda sorta believe Jen’s rep is that the Post’s source claims that Jessica Simpson was able to write well. Of course they meant surprising for Jessica… that could mean anything. It could be anywhere from “less dumb” to “mediocre.”

If the story is true, I can understand why that would hurt Jen. The fact that the letters were hidden indicates that John knew they’d be upsetting and/or he shouldn’t still have them (at least as far as a new girl would be concerned). It really destroys any bit of that “I’ve never loved anyone but you” facade that’s so nice to put up. But then again, we’re talking about a guy that’s openly admitted to sleeping with his fans in the past. Nothing should really be a surprise anymore.

Despite about a billion reports last week that Megan Fox had dumped fiancé Brian Austin Green, Green says it’s untrue. Which is super weird, because the internet was abuzz with the gossip last Thursday, and neither Fox nor Green bothered to address the supposedly incorrect gossip until today.

(London’s Daily Star reported that Fox, 22, called off her engagement to the former 90210 star after realizing “she’s too young to marry him.”)

“We’re solid,” Green, 34, says in the new issue of TV Guide. “We’ve lived together for three years. We have tattoos of each other’s names.”

Green’s only gripe about their relationship? “We have more time away from each other right now than we’d like,” he says.

Green - who has a son, Kassius, with ex fiancée Vanessa Marcil - says he “would love” to have more kids.

For now, he and Fox - who met in 2004 and got engaged in 2006 - are “rescuing pets from pet stores. We have a potbellied pig, we have dogs, two cats, two birds a squirrel.

How freaking adorable. I can’t say why, but somehow I don’t find this entirely believable. Maybe it’s because it took them so long to respond to the gossip. Or maybe it’s because Megan Fox hasn’t said a word. I just wouldn’t be entirely surprised if in a week we find out that they have split after all.

In other news, Green seems to be just about the only 90210 cast member that hasn’t been asked to join the cast of the spin-off. So far Tori Spelling is confirmed, and it seems pretty likely that Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth will both be involved in some capacity. Too bad for Brian, as his career probably could have used it.

Last week the interweb was abuzz with the news that Pete Doherty was going to sell-out ex girlfriend Kate Moss in an autobiography. Supposedly Sexy Pete – as he’s known in my house – was going to dish some dirt about their sex life, all the drugs, and probably something about a lack of bathing. Now Pete has apparently had a change of heart, which isn’t all that surprising. It’s highly doubtful he even remembers last week. Yes, now Pete wants Kate back, now that she just broke up with her boyfriend, The Kills singer Jamie Hince.

Jamie Hince’s side of Kate Moss’s bed may still be warm, but Pete Doherty is already trying to jump in to it. Just as we warned yesterday the shambolic druggie is trying to weasel his way back into Kate’s life. And he’s been boasting to mates about how he reckons he is going to get back with his ex. In his addled mind Pete believes that he and the stunningly successful model are the perfect couple - and texted her to tell her so.

And we’re told it was these latenight love texts that drove The Kills frontman Jamie over the edge. So far Kate’s managed to control the desire to run back to the arms of the filthy-fingernailed one. But his pitiful pleadings are relentless. Last month he posted a video of himself on YouTube singing a song about how much he missed her. And when he heard Kate and Jamie had hit a rocky patch he swooped in with his adolescent poetic scribblings.

A source said: “Jamie was furious when Pete got in touch about a week ago. And over the last three nights he and Kate have texted each other until the early hours. Pete’s been showing the texts to mates and thinks he is on the verge of winning her back but his mates aren’t convinced.”

Normally I really loathe the additional commentary that’s often in articles in The Mirror, but they are totally right. Kate’s sheets, curtains, tablecloths… really, textiles of any kind are in real, real danger. And though it rarely is mentioned in terms of Doherty, let’s not forget that Kate has a 5-year-old daughter, Lila Grace. Though she’s not exactly known for being the most devoted parent in the world, I shudder to think of the parent that would willingly bring Pete Doherty into their child’s life. Especially as a parental-type figure.

Hopefully Kate will continue to rebuff Pete’s advances. If there is any decency or goodness in the world.

George Clooney’s ex, Sarah Larson, is making the PR rounds to let everyone know just how awesome she is, just how great her life is going, and how she’s still good friends with George. Not to sound too cynical, but I don’t believe a word of it. It’s definitely more dignified to go this route than trying to drag the person through the mud, so I give her points for trying. I just don’t think it’s true.

Actor George Clooney certainly knows how to stay on good terms with his exes, if a new interview with Sarah Larson is anything to go by. Clooney split with the former cocktail waitress in May after a year together. But if anyone expected her to be bitter about losing her grip on Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor, think again.

“George is a great guy, a wonderful person. I don’t regret spending time with him and he’s a great person to get to know. We still remain friends and have kept in touch. In fact, we spoke over the phone a couple of days ago. He’s fun to be around, down to earth, laid back, funny and smart,” she gushed to Hello! magazine. And the Ocean’s Eleven star is apparently a man of hidden talents. “Most people know George has a great sense of humour and is an adept storyteller, but I will always miss his extraordinary dance moves,” Larson said.

Thanks to their relationship, however, she is now moving on to bigger and better things. “I have a lot of great opportunities, doors that have opened, and I have no complaints. I make good money. I have a house. I have all the things I’ve always wanted. I’m in a good place,” she said.

I’ve had some amazing offers come in, including one modelling campaign that may bring me to England soon. I can’t talk about it yet because it’s not a done deal. I hope it happens because I’ve never been to England and I’d love to spend some time there. If I do end up there I could find a nice British boy. I’d be open to the idea. I hear they have a good sense of humour.”

It sounds like Sarah is appreciative of the good things her relationship with George brought her, but I can’t imagine her possibly being so cool with him. But if she really is, then good for her. She is strikingly beautiful; hopefully she’ll be able to parlay her exposure into some kind of career. Not that eating bugs on Fear Factor wasn’t a good gig. It just wasn’t long-term.

It’s been a tough year for British singer Lily Allen, but it looks like there may be one bright spot. Lily may be getting back together with her ex, Ed Simons, part of the DJ duo the Chemical Brothers. Lily and Ed broke up two weeks after the singer suffered a miscarriage in February. However, last month when Lily’s grandmother died, Simons was seen comforting his ex backstage at the Glastonbury music festival. Now, the pair have updated their Facebook profiles to reflect their rekindled relationship. What, are they 12 years old now or something?

It seems online social network Facebook has scooped tabloid newspapers with news that Lily Allen and The Chemical Brothers Ed Simons have rekindled their romance.

According to an update sent to “friends” of the pair, both have updated their profiles to show that they are “in a relationship” with each other.

Rumours that the couple were going out again surfaced in the aftermath of this year’s Glastonbury festival, although it seems Facebook beat the papers to the story.

That’s kind of cheesy and juvenile, but whatever. Maybe these two can try again and take it a little more slowly this time around. They had only been dating a couple of months before Lily announced her pregnancy. Moving that fast can put a lot of pressure on a new couple, but they do seem to care for each other. Lily did seem very happy with Ed. She slimmed down, cut back on the drinking and was smiling all the time. Since they broke up she’s been kind of a mess. And let’s not even mention the hideous pink hair. However, it looks like she’s gone back to brunette recently, thank goodness.

Nick Cannon is making the PR rounds promoting… well promoting his marriage. It seems that’s about all he’s got going on in his life anymore. And really, who can blame him? If you had a nothing career with a random, unknown movie or CD here or there, and then married a multi-millionaire, that’d probably be the biggest thing going on in your life too.

Nick’s been plagued by a lot of rumors lately that he is essentially Mariah’s bitch and that their marriage is already on the rocks. So obviously the best way to prove that’s not true is to do your wife’s bidding and chat up People and Us Weekly about just how solid you’re spur-of-the-moment marriage is. Because that’ll show everyone your balls are still firmly attached.

Both People and Us wrote essentially the same story with the same quotes from Nick about just how great money marriage is.

“It’s amazing!” Cannon, 27, told Usmagazine.com at the Christian Audigier nightclub grand opening in Las Vegas Thursday night. “It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me!” he continued.

[Nick’s] plan is to have one [wedding] every year,” Carey gushed to Ellen DeGeneres two weeks later. “Instead of trying to be like, ‘You’re invited, but shhh, don’t tell anybody,’ we’re just going to have another one [wedding] next year.”

Up next for the lovebirds? Babies!

“I always said… if I found the right person who I felt would be on the same page as me in term of raising kids and having the same belief system, [we’d have kids],” Carey said.

Reuben Cannon told Us his half-brother Nick, “definitely wants kids,” and that he “loves [Mariah] more than any other girl.”

I’m sure it is the best thing that’s ever happened to you, Nick Cannon. If I married someone and suddenly got to pee in on a jewel-encrusted toilet seat as a result, I’d think it was pretty much the best thing ever too. And I’m 93% sure that’s what Nick and Mariah’s marriage is really based on.

Mariah famously took back all her statements on not wanting to have kids within seconds of marrying Nick. Which was extra funny, because she made all those statements right before she married Nick. So it seems like they’re both willing to compromise a bit, which I guess is good. Mariah agrees to have a couple kids, and Nick tells People just how happy it makes him to schedule his wife’s appointments, pick up her dry cleaning, and do her laundry. Sounds like a marriage that’ll definitely go for the long haul.

George Clooney just gave a pretty funny interview to In Touch magazine, in which he talked about the pressures of being as high profile – and damn sexy – as he is. And he admitted that looking like George Clooney takes a lot of work – but he’s happy to do it.

Do they [George’s friends] ask you for advice?
Mostly the usual stuff. What does it take to appeal to women?

What’s your reply?
I can only talk about my own experiences. With me, it’s the hair. If you have beautiful and strong hair, then you’re successful with women.

So you wouldn’t be sexy bald?
In the case of hair loss, it’s all over.

How long does it take you to get dressed?
I spend at least three or four hours a day in the bathroom. Being sexy day and night is a big responsibility. And I like taking it!

George also pulls a John Mayer and says that his player reputation is undeserved. And he notes that while he was quick to always profess his hatred of marriage after his divorce, it never even occurred to him that he might have a problem with commitment. Clooney also says that he hasn’t dated nearly as many women as he’s been linked to by the press.

Still, he insists he’s capable of settling down. “For a long time I took every chance to say that I was not going to marry again,” says George, who divorced actress Talia Balsam in 1993. “So I became very careful after a failed marriage. But am I afraid of committing? It’s never occurred to me.”

So you’re not anti-marriage?

What’s it like being one of Hollywood’s biggest playboys?
I’m not a playboy. If I had been with all the women that I was said to have been with, I wouldn’t have had the time to shoot one single movie.

I don’t know if I quite buy all of that, but I don’t think George discards women nearly as quickly – or as easily – as a lot of men in Hollywood. I’m sure there’s plenty out there that go through women much faster than they can possibly be linked to, even by the aggressive press. Ever since he broke up with Sarah Larson, George has had to defend his lifestyle and relationship choices quite a bit in the media. I’d say “poor guy” or something like that – but clearly he’s still doing fine. And just working on maintaining his sexiness.

In Touch has a new story that claims that Kate Hudson, 29, has already told her new boyfriend, athlete Lance Armstrong, 36, that she loves him. They don’t specify whether Lance said it back, but claim to have a witness who heard her say “I love you Lance” several times. They also say that Lance and Kate are talking marriage and that it’s the “real thing” for both of them.

There’s an inset story beneath that one that details Kate’s dating history and the way that she falls head over heels for boyfriends quickly. This was more interesting to me, because I have girlfriends who jump into relationships too soon and I have to admit to being foolish in love at times too:

Moving in After 4 Days [ex husband Chris Robinson]
Days after their first date in May 2000, Kate moved in with Chris Robinson. “We knew we were in love after four days,” she says. They wed seven months later.

Dating after 1 week [Owen Wilson]

The accompanying article warns that the danger with falling in love too quickly is that you can just as easily sour on a person and ditch the relationship the minute you get a taste of reality. It also can be hard on your kids if you’re a single mom and bring too many men into their lives. In Touch quotes “relationship expert” Dr. Gilda Carle who says “Her son gets attached to her various partners, but when it’s over, Ryder may become disappointed and confused.”

That could be true, but we don’t know how many men she’s dated who have played a significant role in his life. There are three that I can think of since she split with her husband. Certainly you should be careful not to bring a lot of men around or make them seem like replacement daddies, but kids are resilient and I see Kate as dating until she finds the right man, not sleeping around.

It does sound like Kate moves too fast, but it seems more like she falls quickly and just goes with it. In Touch includes a quote she gave to Cosmopolitan in 2005, when she was still married, to suggest that she may be fickle in relationships. She said “If for some reason it’s over, why would you spend five years of your life trying to make it work when you can spend those five years being friends and finding someone else?” She probably already knew her marriage was over at that point, and it’s possible she didn’t move on to Wilson that quickly after it ended, and just waited to announce her separation.

If anything Kate sounds guilty of the same thing a lot of do when we find a great new man - we think he’s the one and start to revolve our lives around him. It’s better to step back a little, get your head together, and focus on your friends and interests for a while so that you can make a better decision about who you want to commit to - for now.

You know what I lay in bed worrying about? What does Donald Trump think of my relationship? Whenever I’m not sure what to do, I remind myself of the letters printed on a bracelet I wear around my wrist: WWDTD? What would Donald Trump do? Would he fight over who has to do the dishes? Would he think it’s okay if I withhold sex as punishment?

Luckily Anne Hathaway doesn’t have to wonder, because the Donald has felt it appropriate to throw his weight behind ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri, and call Anne out for leaving the criminal sleaze bag.

Donald Trump may have a new sparring partner on his hands.

The “Apprentice” head honcho has raised a critical eyebrow at “Get Smart’s” Anne Hathaway for dumping her boyfriend, and Trump Tower resident, Raffaello Follieri, days before he was arrested and charged with fraud.

“She hasn’t remained very loyal to him, has she?” Trump told “Access Hollywood’s” Billy Bush. “So when he had plenty of money, she liked him, but then after that, not as good, right?”

Trump said this week, prior to Follieri being taken into custody and his bail set at $21 million, Trump Tower has been surrounded by media.

Yeah, what a terrible person Anne Hathaway is for not sticking around once it became clear her boyfriend really was a scumbag criminal. So far there’s no way to know exactly how much Anne Hathaway knew, and if she realized Follieri was committing a crime. I’m guessing she probably was aware of it on some level but deluded herself.

On the other hand, Donald Trump does have a little bit of a point. Which makes me pretty damn mad. Because I should never have to write a sentence like that. The Daily News says that Follieri’s pals all think Hathaway ratted him out to the FBI before he was arrested. If so, she obviously knew some useful stuff. I’m guessing she broke up with him because of her own PR needs. Though really, that would have been a great reason to break up with the guy a long time ago. I hate it when Donald Trump is right.
