The Robert Pattinson phenomenon just gets worse and worse. Radar is reporting that just the sight of Robert Pattinson walking into his hotel in New York City was enough to send “a gaggle of screaming, picture-snapping teen-aged girls” into some kind of a fit. Radar is also reporting that Pattz “spent plenty of down time during Monday’s production with his comely co-star, Emilie de Ravin” because apparently, Radar wants Emilie to be killed by a ravenous band of Twihards as well.
But the really interesting story comes from OK! Magazine. It seems that every crew member on the set of Remember Me is totally on edge with all of Pattz fans littered about. One unnamed crew member told OK that the attention Pattz is getting is “ridiculous” and added, “I worked on a film with Jennifer Aniston and it wasn’t nearly this bad… They’ve had to hire security, it’s actually the same company Aniston used.” Perhaps because Aniston isn’t as sparkly and brooding as our little Pattz? Or maybe the Twihards really are that crazy.
As shooting on Robert Pattinson’s upcoming film, Remember Me, heads into the final stretch, producers are doing everything they can to keep their megawatt star from being distracted and their set overrun by fans.
In the last week, R-Pattz name is no longer listed on the day’s call sheet, so that only a select, small group of people on-set know if Rob is involved in that day’s shooting.
The producers also recently held a meeting with the Remember Me crew where they were given explicit rules about how to deal with questions about Rob by either the media or the Twilight hunk’s fan. “They were told not to talk to the press at all,” one insider reveals. “And when they talk on their phones about the shoot, they need to make sure no one else is around. They’ve also started listing these rules on the top of call sheets.”
To ward off some overeager R-Pattz watchers, crewmembers often lie about what’s being shot, telling onlookers that it’s for a commercial or an episode of Law & Order.
“It’s ridiculous,” one crewmember tells OK!. “I worked on a film with Jennifer Aniston and it wasn’t nearly this bad. Older people don’t even know who he is. It’s all the teenagers that literally scream when they see him who make shooting impossible. They’ve had to hire security, it’s actually the same company Aniston used.”

Last week it was reported that the Remember Me producers and crew had constructed a small cubicle-like thing for Pattz, because if he waited to film his scenes just like a regular actor, he would be attacked and swarmed. I called this cubicle thing a “veal pen” and wondered if producers are maybe a little sketched out about the added security costs of working with Pattz. There might come a point when producers are dissuaded from hiring Pattz just because of the craziness that follows him. Let’s hope Pattz isn’t there yet.
