Yesterday Celebitchy reported that Jude Law’s soon-to-be baby mama Samantha Burke was shopping around baby pictures and an interview all about her relationship with Jude. Supposedly she’s looking for somewhere in the neighborhood of $200,000 for everything. It’s ridiculous, but not impossible. Celebrity baby photos can go for a lot of cash, and clearly Samantha Burke has a good story to go along with her baby. And everyone enjoys classic Jude Law baby mama drama right?
None of the talk seems to be getting to Samantha much. She was photographed out yesterday in Pensacola shopping , drinking coffee, and even changing outfits halfway through the day.

Since Burke isn’t exactly famous in her own right, it’s hard to get many pictures of her. She’s sort of this giant question mark to me, so whenever I run across new photos I can’t help but examine her closely, trying to figure her out. Unfortunately they don’t really tell me much about her personality or her motivations, so about all I can say is she has gorgeous hair. Considering she’s already trying to get cash for her kid, I won’t be surprised if we see a lot more of her in the future. The paparazzi know how to chase celebs, but celebs (and wanna be celebs) know how to chase paparazzi too. Or how to let themselves get caught “out and about” more often than necessary. Samantha hasn’t done much of that so far, but something about her shopping around the baby photos tells me she will.
The last we heard of Samantha Burke, the pregnant model/cocktail waitress who is due to have Jude Law’s baby in less than a month, she was blogging that she wasn’t a gold digger. This was on Burke’s new website that included booking information and modeling photos. Burke also protested on her website that she “didn’t choose to publish the story of my pregnancy. I didn’t choose to publish pictures of myself.” She did take sexy cellphone pics documenting her pregnancy, though.
It looks like Burke is inevitably trying to sell the baby photos of little Sophia, due October 6, the same day that Jude Law’s play Hamlet opens on Broadway. You can bet that Law won’t be posing with the happy mother and baby. He supposedly didn’t even remember his brief hookup with Burke until she showed up knocked up. Burke’s people are said to be trying to get the best deal possible for an exclusive interview and picture spread – all to coincide with Law’s run on Broadway. It doesn’t sound like Law or the producers of Hamlet appreciate the publicity:

The 24-year-old model’s lawyers are shopping an exclusive interview with Burke and pictures of their daughter to coincide with his run as “Hamlet” at the Broadhurst.
Burke is offering to dish on her short-lived fling with the star, which occurred when he was filming “Sherlock Holmes” here in January. Law’s “Hamlet” officially opens on Oct. 6 — the very day baby Sophia is due.
A source close to Burke said: “Samantha is getting offers ranging up to $200,000″ for the interview and baby photos.
“The irony of the timing for the interview is not lost on her,” the source said. “She will talk openly about her relationship with Jude — and he’s not getting rave reviews” for his behavior. “While Jude has promised to provide for Sophia, Samantha doesn’t feel like his behavior towards her was entirely chivalrous,” our source said.
“Hamlet” will mark Law’s first time on the Broadway stage since his Tony-nominated debut in 1995 in “Indiscretions.”
The timing of Burke’s planned interview is a blow to “Hamlet” producers who are trying to keep a lid on Law’s love life, so as not to distract attention from the show. They’ve even banned reporters from asking questions about his relationships — which seem to involve more drama than Shakespeare’s tragedies.
So Burke will hit back with an American weekly magazine and a UK newspaper deal dishing on how Law supposedly disappeared and switched off his phone after a romance that lasted just a week.
LA-based publicist Eileen Koch confirmed her firm has been hired to do Burke’s public relations but refused to comment further. Law’s publicist, Simon Halls, did not respond to an e-mail for comment.
Getting knocked up with Jude Law’s baby is the best thing that ever happened to 24 year-old Samantha Burke. If it’s true that Law changed his number and stopped returning her calls that’s cold, but it also seems like this woman is more than a little clingy. Now she’s tied to Law for life, and you can bet she’ll try and capitalize on it. It doesn’t look like she’ll ever get the happy family with Law that she’s probably dreaming of. The money will surely be some consolation, though.
Jude Law wins my prize for Most Self-Defeating Celebrity of the Year. I love him dearly, but my guy needs to keep it in his pants – or at the very least, buy condoms in bulk and actually use them. She had been blogging about her pregnancy, and she had even sent out some crazy, sexy cell phone pics of her “modeling” her bump in skimpy panties, using what looked like her parents’ back porch as a backdrop. Although Samantha denies the “golddigger” label on her blog, I’m pretty sure that Jude is going to be paying for the this baby for a long, long time. Meanwhile, some sources have told the press that Jude didn’t even remember having the baby-making sex with Samantha – apparently, he was very ill at the time, and Samantha was acting like his sexy wet-nurse or something. Anyway, his swimmers found their way, and now Samantha’s due date is coming at a very inopportune time – the night Jude’s Broadway play opens:

Chances are that Jude will not be around the Florida hospital room when Samantha delivers. Guess he’ll just send the check, then. Meanwhile, the Hamlet publicity machine is gearing up, and there was this nice little interview with Jude in the New York Times last week. I read the whole damn thing, and it only mentioned the baby drama at the very end with this:
Mr. Law is a regular presence in tabloid gossip columns. His divorce from the mother of his three children and his relationship with the actress Sienna Miller were both highly public. He has been in the news again lately, with the disclosure that a young woman with whom he had a one-night stand is pregnant, apparently with his child.
As a result interviewers are under strict instructions not to bring up anything remotely personal. Not that you would really want to; the character Mr. Law is playing seems to have enough on his plate right now.
And Mr. Law is not interested in public self-analysis. For a moment, in his dressing room in London, he came close, when he was discussing how actors internalize Hamlet by approaching the role through the prisms of their own personalities. In his case he embraces Hamlet’s mercurial nature, he said, more than the character’s melancholy.
“I’m probably much closer to Hamlet than you realize, but it’s not something I want to go into too much, or talk about,” he said. “But rather than having just his lows, where he goes down and stays there, I go up and down more. Perhaps that’s my reveal of myself. I quite like to shave off feelings, when they’re not too constructive, and physicalize them. I don’t want to sit and brood.”
After doing many movies in recent years, Mr. Law is taking a break. “To be honest, I don’t know what I’ll do after this,” he said. “I have no films planned. I haven’t been hugely inspired by what’s come my way in the film industry lately, and this has opened up my eyes to how great roles can be, and how great acting can be.”
Did Hamlet have baby-mama drama with Ophelia? Is that what I’m getting? Did Ophelia send her nudie cell phone pictures to Us Weekly? Did Gertrude remind her son about the child support payments? Did Hamlet bang the first random waitress/model that offered to wipe his nose? Ah… I jest. I would love to see Jude’s Hamlet, I bet it’s very good. And God knows that if I went backstage to tell him how much I liked the play, I would end up pregnant. This is why I love Jude.

We’ve all suspected that Jude Law’s baby-mama Samantha Burke was using her tenuous connection to Jude to launch her own modeling-acting career. Why would she hold a press conference to ask for her privacy? Why would she set up a blog to document her pregnancy and encourage people to hire her for work? Why would she take bikini-clad pictures of her pregnant self and send them out (allegedly)? Now it seems that even Samantha’s friends think she’s something of a famewhore. A source told E! News that Jude “didn’t even remember” Samantha and their week of sex, and that they consider it “crazy” for Samantha to go through with the pregnancy:
It’s hard being a young twentysomething lady who loves famous people. If everyone isn’t calling you a fame whore, then you’re just trying to get whatever famous person responsible for knocking you up to remember you.
Ugh, it’ll be OK; just take underwear pictures and post them online. And if that doesn’t work, have a close friend do the talking for you. This is how the story of Jude Law’s baby mama Samantha Burke is going, anyway.
A close friend of Samantha’s steps up and tells E! exclusive details of the brief relationship between the Sherlock Holmes actor and the aspiring model. It all started once upon a time in a club: “She met him at a club in New York,” says the friend. “He was sick, so she kept going to his hotel over the course of a week to take care of him.”
And then poor, sick Jude didn’t remember her after she did everything she could (even a steady dose of sex, obvi) to nurse him back to health: “Jude didn’t even remember her. She hasn’t seen him since New York. They’ve only been in contact through their lawyers.”
Now, this friend thinks Samantha is “crazy” for going through with the pregnancy, so one has to question her financial motivations. Good thing the seven-months-pregnant mom-to-be already cleared that up in a recent blog post: “I can’t tell you how far from a gold-digger I am. I’ve never dated a rich man in my life. I’ve always wondered how girl friends of mine could even ask their boyfriends to buy them clothes.”
Still, her friend had to point out that Samantha comes from “a very white trashy town” in Pensacola, Fla., and “her family doesn’t have any money.” Just in case that means anything?
I completely believe that Jude probably had a hard time remembering her. From what I assume about Jude’s love life (the romancing of nannies, waitresses, Sienna Miller, et cetera), I don’t really think Jude is that choosey. I’ve said it before, but Jude does seem to have a very self-destructive streak – but at least he tries to make it right, to a certain extent. I kind of feel for him. Wait… no I don’t. He should have “remembered” to wear a condom.

Since we found out that Samantha Burke was the baby-mama of Jude Law’s baby a few weeks ago, many amongst us have been asking those nagging little questions. Did Samantha lie to Jude about being on the pill? Why won’t Jude Law just wear a condom? Did Samantha get pregnant on purpose? Is the baby even Jude’s? Did he demand a paternity test? Does Samantha hope to ride this baby-mama status to stardom? Just how supportive is Jude of Samantha? Why is Samantha Burke taking weird camera phone pictures of herself scantily-clad? And finally, what is this little dalliance going to cost Jude Law?
As we do some deep thinking about those questions, Samantha Burke would like to tell us something “I’m no gold-digger.” It seems Samantha is blogging about her pregnancy, and she describes herself as “far from a gold-digger” and that she’s “never” dated a rich man before. Of course, the Daily Mail also has some sources that claim Samantha is asking Jude for 5,900 pounds (GBP) a month in child support. I checked the exchange rate, and that’s about $10,000 a month (technically $9,756.90 as of this weekend). It sounds like a very high number (to me) – that would be about $120,000 a year for 18 years, or a total of $2.16 million to get the kid to adulthood. Good Lord. Now I wish Jude would get me pregnant. Gah! I’m such a gold-digger.

Pictures of Miss Burke, 24, showing off her ‘baby bump’ have already appeared on the internet, along with reports that she wants £5,900 a month in maintenance for the child, due in October.
But she insists in her blog she has no interest in Law’s fortune. She writes: ‘I can’t tell you how far from a gold-digger I am. I’ve never dated a rich man in my life. I’ve always wondered how girl friends of mine could even ask their boyfriends to buy them clothes.’
Despite her assertions, the diary webpage seems designed to capitalize on her new-found fame – with ads telling readers how to contact her managers.
Before her modeling career took off, Miss Burke spent her weekends at the beach with friends and worked as a scantily-clad Hooters waitress. She quit the job after being signed by Florida-based agency Izon Models and began traveling to and from New York for work. She eventually made the city her home and began to take acting classes at the New York Studio for Film and Television.
Miss Burke met Law, 36, while he was in the city filming Sherlock Holmes. They are understood to have spotted one another outside the 1OAK nightclub in the city’s Meatpacking district. They went for a meal at a nearby diner before going back to the actor’s room at the Greenwich Hotel.
Miss Burke is due to give birth to a baby girl in October. Law has said he plans to be a ‘fully supportive part of the child’s life’. But he only learned of the pregnancy two weeks ago.
I can actually relate to Samantha’s statement, “I’ve always wondered how girl friends of mine could even ask their boyfriends to buy them clothes.” I’ve never figured out how and why some girls do this, it’s so bewildering to me. Mind you, I’m talking about just dating, not engaged or married couples, where obviously the financial stuff gets mingled. I knew a couple several years ago where the girl didn’t work, yet she had her own place which her boyfriend paid for. He even paid for all of her bills, and paid off her credit cards too. They weren’t engaged or anything, there were no kids involved and they had just been going out for a year or so and he was just doing it to take care of her. I’ve always found that kind of stuff astounding. I wouldn’t even know how to ask a guy to pay my phone bill.
So if I was in Samantha’s position – knocked up with Jude Law’s baby – would I behave differently? Would I ask for child support at all? I probably would, actually. But I wouldn’t try to convince the world that I wasn’t in it for the money.

Is it really surprising that this woman took facebook-style photos and posted them online? What’s surprising is that TMZ apparently found these on PhotoBucket and that Burke isn’t trying to profit off them. Maybe by giving us these freebies she’s trying to get us interested in the inevitable baby photos of little Sophia. She waited to make the announcement until she was seven months along. Was she just posing with the famous people who showed up to get served or was this woman hoping for her own taste of fame? TMZ claims that she was more than happy to chat about her encounters with celebrities, but who wouldn’t be?
TMZ has obtained photos of the unwed mom-to-be/model/aspiring actress posing and partying with model Tyrese, actor Jeremy Piven and Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Stewart Bradley.
We’re told by several sources that until recently, Burke was quite the braggart about her brushes with fame… including the steamy tryst with Law.
This is the woman who held a press conference to ask for “privacy” in the wake of her pregnancy with Jude Law’s baby. She confirmed that she’s expecting his child, and has even announced the baby’s gender, due date, and name – Sophia. She more than happy for the publicity, but whether she intended to get pregnant for the notoriety and fame is up to question. At least one British paper claims “Jude assumed she was on the pill,” which probably means he didn’t take any precautions and is just as responsible for the pregnancy as she is – whether she was scheming or not. Another story claimed that Samantha was “innocent” before taking up with Jude, although that seems to have been planted by her people. For his part, Jude is taking responsibility and was described by Samantha’s rep as “responsive and supportive.” He first tried to keep Burke’s identity secret, although she didn’t accept that and had to have a press conference. I wonder how much she’s hoping to make from selling the first photos of Sophia to the celebrity glossies.
Last week, Jude Law’s spokesperson released one of the most cryptic impending-baby announcements ever, in the history of public relations. Jude announced that he was expecting a baby this fall with an unnamed woman, whom he no longer had a romantic/sexual relationship with. We got to play the guessing game for more than a day before TMZ finally figured out the baby-mama was some random actress/model named Samantha Burke. Burke’s lawyer released a confirmation, and since then, people have been trying to figure out exactly how this happened. But late Friday, Samantha and her lawyers held a press conference on her parents’ front lawn in Florida to discuss the situation, and Samantha claims that Jude has been “nothing but responsive and supportive”:

Burke’s statement [through her lawyer]: “Ms. Burke can confirm that she did in fact have a relationship with Mr. Law and that she has informed Mr. Law that she is expecting his child later this fall,” the statement reads. “Since informing Mr. Law of the pregnancy, he has been nothing but responsive and supportive of Ms. Burke and the pregnancy. Mr. Law and Ms. Burke are committed to the health, safety and well-being of this child throughout the pregnancy and after the child is born.”
After one of the lawyers spoke Samantha said, “I would just really appreciate if everyone would respect my privacy… it’s a hard time.”
Of course, that’s not going to be the end of it. I hope that the paparazzi do leave Samantha alone, but I can’t help but find the stories interesting. OK! has a some insider stuff about Samantha via her “friends”. They basically claim it’s a joke to call what Jude and Samantha were doing a “relationship”. Apparently, they basically only met “a couple” of times:

According to the mole, the divorced actor — who already has three children — picked her up while she was an aspiring actress working as a cocktail waitress in New York. And although the first-time mom is said to be excited about the pregnancy, she is planning to raise the child as a single mother and share a room with the baby at her parents’ home.
Samantha graduated from a high school in Pensacola, Fla., in 2003 and landed a few modeling jobs for local magazines before moving to New York in the summer of 2007 to take acting classes. Samantha paid her way with a job serving cocktails at an exclusive nightclub where she regularly mingled with celebrities.
It was there, according to our source, that she met Jude around Christmas 2008, while he was in the city filming Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes alongside Robert Downey Jr.. “There wasn’t a relationship like [her lawyers are] making it out to be,” said the source. “I think it was a couple of meetings and that was it.”
The source says that the unplanned turn of events quickly put an end to Samantha’s dreams of becoming an actress, and she headed straight back to Florida to move back in with her parents.
“She’s really excited [about becoming a mom],” said the source. “And she’s anxious. It’s a sad situation because she’s a very motivated person and she moved out there to pursue her dream career and then the situation happened. But I do think she’s very excited about it and she has a lot of support from her friends and family.”
“There’s no relationship whatsoever,” said the source. “I think she knows this is going to be a single parent thing. She’s never been the kind of person who’d want to be with someone just for a child.”
I think it’s weird that Samantha’s dreams of being an actress are now “over” because she’s pregnant. She could still work and live in New York as a single mother – it’s not unheard of, for goodness sake. Oh, well. I’m sure she’s happier being with her family.
There are a couple of other little pieces of news about the whole baby-mama drama. Radar is reporting that Jude has promised Samantha that he’ll be present when she gives birth, and that he wants to be involved in the child’s life. Radar also says that all communication between them is going through the lawyers. Yikes. But I totally believe that. Also, the Daily Express is reporting that Samantha father read Jude “the riot act” about getting his daughter pregnant. Apparently, he feels that Jude “took advantage” of Samantha, and when Dad went to yell at Jude, Jude wouldn’t return any of the phone calls. Dad wants Jude to “be a man about this”. I’m not sure how much I believe this story, though. I think Jude and Samantha both are kind of dealing with it the best way they can, and Jude seems to be stepping up now that he’s sure the baby is his.
