NY Governor Eliot Spitzer admits using prostitutes

elliotspitzer1.jpg
NY Governor Eliott Spitzer was caught up in a federal investigation of a prostitution ring, and made a statement to the media today acknowledging his involvement without getting into specifics. The NY Times broke the explosive story this morning that a wiretap from a federal investigation revealed that the Governor had arranged for a high-paid prostitute to travel from NY to Washington to meet him at a hotel.

Spitzer owned up to his actions in a public statement, his wife standing by his side. His eyes were welling up but he did not cry. He refused to answer any questions, including whether he would resign his post:

Mr. Spitzer today made a brief public appearance during which he apologized for his behavior, and described it as a “private matter.”

“I have acted in a way that violates my obligation to my family and violates my or any sense of right or wrong,” said Mr. Spitzer, who appeared with his wife Silda at his Manhattan office. “I apologize first and most importantly to my family. I apologize to the public to whom I promised better.”

“I have disappointed and failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself. I must now dedicate some time to regain the trust of my family.”

Before speaking, Mr. Spitzer stood with his arm around his wife; the two nodded and then strode forward together to face more than 100 reporters. Both had glassy, tear-filled eyes, but they did not cry.

The governor spoke for perhaps a minute and did not address his political future.

He declined to take questions and promised to report back soon. As he went to leave, three reporters screamed out, “Are you resigning? Are you resigning?”, and Mr. Spitzer charged out of the room, slamming the door.

[From the NY Times]

According to the NY Times, Spitzer can be charged with a crime under the Mann Act, which is meant to deter human trafficking and “makes it a crime to transport someone between states for the purpose of prostitution.”

Ironically, Spitzer has gone after prostitution rings in his role as Attorney General of NY from 1998-2006. As Attorney General he was known for his high profile lawsuits against major corporations and was widely lauded as a man who could change fraudulent corporate practices. He sued the NY Stock Exchange for paying its director $187 million. He sued GlaxoSmithKlein for withholding damaging information about Paxil. He sued the top investment banks and was instrumental in exposing fraud on Wall Street. He collected multi-million dollar settlements from ten of the top investment banks including Bear Stearns, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan Chase, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and UBS Warburg. Spitzer even sued a major spam network along with Microsoft and collected a $7 million settlement.

Spitzer has been Governor of NY since January 1, 2007 and has not yet addressed whether he will resign his post.

Huffington Post has screengrabs from the website of the prostitution ring that Spitzer may have used. Their rates start at $1,000 an hour and go up from there, depending on their “diamond” level.

Spitzer has been married for 20 years and has three teenage daughters. His wife is also a graduate of Harvard Law School and runs the nonprofit agency Children for Children.

Mystery runner is Holmes’ trainer (update: photos of trainer w/out her)

jtm-032586.jpg
Katie Holmes’ recorded times crossing various markers on the NY Marathon route were identical down to the second at nearly every point in the middle of the race to one of the guys seen jogging with her, sparking theories that she had one of the other joggers wear her chip. Her composed appearance, lack of sweat, and seemingly completely inappropriate and probably uncomfortable attire had many people claiming that she didn’t run or even walk the whole 26 and a half miles.

Fox News has an interview with the mother of the unregistered and previously-unnamed runner, Wesley Okerson, and his mom says that both he and Paul Vincent, whose times mirrored Katie’s down to the second, are her trainers, and “yes, she really ran the marathon.” Case solved then I guess.

jtm-030866.jpg
Katie and her two trainers. Okerson is on the right. He is wearing a tracking chip despite not being registered for the race.

Defamer notes that Okerson is an aspiring actor and that he was a personal guest of the Holmes-Cruises that night at the premiere of Tom’s movie Lions for Lambs. Katie wore peep-toe heels that night and her feet looked perfectly fine. No swelling or abrasions that are common among marathon runners.

Commentors on Gossip Rocks, where we get a lot of stories, note how naturally and repeatedly Katie Holmes lied on her Punk’d episode (link leads to video) when she was led to believe that director JJ Abrams was cheating on his fiancé. She didn’t seem to have any ethical issues and instead of telling the truth or refusing to answer the fiancé about whether there was another woman in the room she said “no” over and over again when it wasn’t true. She was put in a bad position and was just trying to get out of there, but when asked “Do you always tell the truth? About everything?” she easily said “yes.”

katiestrainer2.jpg
Katie Holmes’ trainer, who was seen finishing the race with her, wearing a tracking chip despite not being registered and a bib from 2003. Katie Holmes was nowhere to be found in three different photos at this point.

Update: Thanks to Calimoonchild on Gossip Rocks for the link to this photo on sawzy’s Flickr of Wesley Okerson, who was not registered in the NY City Marathon and wore a bib from 2003, wearing a tracking chip despite the fact that he wouldn’t need one or presumably get one if he wasn’t registered. Katie Holmes is nowhere to be found, although she finished the race alongside both Okerson and Paul Vincent as seen in the photo above. Okerson is obviously behind the smiling old guy. There are three photos of just Okerson with no Katie in sight on sawzy’s Flickr. Commentor sc on our other post about this curious issue said he was a volunteer for seven hours on the course at the same spot and that the celebrities were easily spotted, but that he never saw Holmes pass.

Katie Holmes is shown outside the Late Show on 1/14/08, thanks to PRPhotos.

Huge Entertainment Payroll Company Bankrupt; Entire Industry Affected

enronpayroll.jpg
As if the industry wasn’t hard hit enough from the writer’s strike, one of the largest Hollywood payroll companies just declared bankruptcy yesterday after shutting their offices on Monday and telling all their employees to pack up and leave. Axium handled payroll services for the Directors Guild of America and studios such as Warner Brothers. They had over $100,000 in assets from the Director’s Guild according to Defamer, and a commentor on Defamer says it’s likely they required a month’s worth of payroll ahead of time from production companies. That means that many entertainment workers could be stiffed out of their pay at a very difficult time. All of Axium’s assets have been frozen:

Axium Intl., the entertainment industry’s third-largest provider of payroll and accounting services, has closed unexpectedly and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Axium shuttered operations Tuesday, a day after its lenders froze the company’s bank accounts. Immediate impact was unclear, but some of the frozen funds included paychecks for film projects.

Director Charlie Matthau told Daily Variety that much of the money he was owed on the recently completed indie drama “Baby O” was frozen Tuesday.

“I was supposed to go pick up a $75,000 check from the DGA, until they told me there was this problem, that Axium had gone out of business and all the accounts were frozen, ” said the helmer, son of the late Walter Matthau. “I feel totally violated, and I’m hoping that the Guild will be able to help me.”

Matthau said Axium notified him recently that the money had been wired into his account.

“In fact, they’d done no such thing, and they were hiding this 400-pound gorilla of bankruptcy,” he added. “Because of that memo, I hope that the City Attorney or District Attorney looks into this. It has affected me and likely a whole lot of other people.”

A Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing is designed to govern the liquidation of company assets. Axium reps were not available for comment Tuesday, and the headquarters offices on Wilshire Boulevard were shuttered.

Axium president Ruben Rodriguez had left the firm. Axium employees were told Monday not to come to work until further notice, and if in contact with their clients, to tell them that Axium could no longer process their business.

[From Variety.com]

Another commentor on Defamer notes that she hasn’t been paid by Axium at her entertainment-related job since December 14th. LAist says that there are a lot of unanswered questions in this case and that many people are worried where their next paycheck will come from, if Axium correctly gave their withholdings to the IRS, and how they will handle taxes this year. This affects all people with paychecks issued from Axium and Avalon.

It is thought that Axium went bankrupt due to greedy executives, similar to the Enron scandal. They have filed Chapter 7, not Chapter 11, which means that Axium employees won’t receive whatever pay was owed to them.

People are saying this is somehow due to the writer’s strike, but it sounds more to me like this company didn’t manage their assets and that someone was cooking the books. Axium’s website, which features a huge globe and a spinning glowing X, is still available, but their offices are shut and not taking calls.

Vanessa Hudgens says nude pic scandal was “traumatic”

alo-001062.jpg

The other day I was really bored, so I stripped off all my clothes in my trailer and took some naked pictures that were only meant to be seen by me. And really, who hasn’t? One of our God-given rights as Americans (or whatever nationality you are – it doesn’t matter, this is a God-given right) is to take private nudie photos whenever you’re bored and know that there will never be any repercussions. If anything, people should respect you more for it. Shockingly, when “High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens did the exact same thing in her trailer, there was a bit of a scandal. I have no idea why that didn’t happen with my photos. Probably because Vanessa’s boobs are about 2 feet higher than mine. Reason 232,388 that I hate her.

Poor Vanessa – who apparently thinks the scandal that resulted from the release of her naked photos was some kind of trauma inflicted upon her, instead of something she did to herself – has rallied, and gave a heart-wrenching interview to Seventeen magazine talking about that devastating time in her life.

“I’m much better now,” the High School Musical star, 18, tells Seventeen magazine for its February issue. “But truthfully I don’t like talking about it.” She now says of the intimate posing session, “It was something that was meant to be private, and even though it isn’t anymore, I’d still like to keep it as private as I can.”

Of the tempest that the pictures caused, she says, “It was very traumatic, and I am extremely upset it happened. I hope all my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions. But I wouldn’t have been able to get through it if it wasn’t for my family, friends and fans, who supported me all along the way.”

Asked how she had been informed that the photos had gone public, Hudgens answers, “I found out from my manager. We heard some story was going to break in the tabloids, and I was like, What?!? A few days later, the picture came out while I Was on vacation in Australia. Thank God, I wasn’t home – it would have sucked if I was at home. So I got to be away from L.A. for about a millisecond. But when I came back, it got kind of crazy.”

[From People]

Who in the world would have guessed that a young celebrity taking naked photos of herself could have ended up in a scandal? If I were famous, I’d make it my job to make sure that I was in clothes 110% of the time. I would become a Never Nude (bonus points if you catch the reference) and wear jean shorts and a tank top in the shower. What’s the most important lesson Vanessa Hudgens has learned from all this?

“With the Internet these days, you don’t have a personal life. Nothing is private: Everyone knows everything, and they can find out everything about you. You’re not as safe as you think you are, and you have to be aware of the people you’re around.”

[From People]

Is Vanessa saying she’s learned not to email naked photos of herself? She’s sorta vague, but I’m going to interpret her quote the most salacious way possible, and read it that she’s learned that emailing her naked photos is not nearly as safe as she thought it was. JayBird’s goal for next week: only email half of the naked photos I did this week. Thank you, Vanessa Hudgens, for teaching me such a difficult lesson.

Picture note by Jaybird: Here’s a rare photo of Vanessa with her clothes on at the 2007 American Music Awards. Images thanks to PR Photos. Click here for the NSFW photos.

Is Casey Aldridge the father of Jamie Lynn Spears’ baby?

starcoverpopbytes.jpg
Crazy Days and Nights ran a blind item last month that suggested that one of the producers of Jamie Lynn’s show Zoey 101 was the father of her baby and that he was old enough to be her grandfather. They also said that producers were freaking out and trying to find a boyfriend they could pin the pregnancy on.

This weeks’ Star Magazine is set to report that the father of Jamie Lynn’s baby is suspected to be an “older executive” on her show who will face statutory rape charges if the news came to light. Casey Aldridge is not the father and hasn’t steadily dated Jamie Lynn, Star claims. Casey has another girlfriend and is said to be being paid to keep his mouth shut.

Star magazine insists that the teenager may not be the dad - and that Spears’ friends and family think it is an older man who would face statutory rape charges.

Friends have said that Jamie Lynn was no longer even seeing Casey - and family members told Star that they believe the real father is a much older executive at her children’s TV show ‘Zoey 101′.

“Casey is being paid off to be the family’s fall guy while the real father remains unidentified,” Star magazine insists.

They say the real reason is that an older man could be charged with statutory rape if revealed to be the father of an under-aged girl’s baby.

But in Jamie Lynn’s home state of Louisiana, Casey would escape charges because a 16-year-old can legally have sex with someone less than two years older than her. “Conveniently, Casey falls under the bar by just 26 days.

“The man many suspect is the father, however, would face charges and probably prison time if he were to come forward and admit he had sex with her,” Star magazine states.

The magazine quotes “two separate Spears family insiders” who believe the father is someone who works on Jamie Lynn’s kids’ show. “Jamie Lynn has been working on Zoey since she was 13,” one of the sources said. “In Hollywood, little girls grow up fast, and she is no exception.

“With everything that has gone on in her family, she needed someone to look up to.

“But the man she found seems to have completely taken advantage of her.”

Another family source added: “Some of us have doubts as to the legitimacy of the claim that Casey is the father.

“Before the news of the pregnancy, how often did you see them together?

“Jamie Lynn has dated Casey on and off over the past two years.

“But it was not steady. In fact, she was looking to date Kevin Federline’s brother about a year ago.

“Jamie Lynn went through a time of partying, and Casey was just a part of that.”

[From Showbiz Spy]

They also say that Jamie Lynn is six months pregnant, not three, and that Casey got a different girl pregnant this year and had to confess to Jamie Lynn. Casey has another girlfriend, they claim, and has made no secret of the fact that he’s dating her:

In fact, Star claims he had a pregnancy scare with a different girl and had to confess to Jamie Lynn. “Casey is a serial cheater who has lied to Jamie Lynn time and time again,” a close friend told the magazine. “This past spring, he was forced to tell Jamie Lynn that he’d cheated on her and gotten that girl pregnant.”

In fact, Star even insists Casey was openly dating yet another girl at the same time as he was supposed to be romancing Spears. “Yes, my sister is dating Casey - they’ve been dating for a while,” said Kevin Seals of his sister Whitney Seals.

“I know Jamie Lynn was real jealous about Whitney’s relationship with Casey.”

[From Showbizspy]

According to this article it sounds like it’s still possible that Casey is the father, but that it’s more likely to be this unnamed producer on her show who took advantage of her. There are at least seven “directors” of Zoey 101 listed on IMDB, and not all of them have ages or biographical data, so it would be pointless to speculate who the father might be. If it’s true that an older man who worked with young Jamie Lynn was preying on her like that, he needs to go to jail. As it is, he’s probably trying to lay low, just like Casey has been doing. The tabloids aren’t going to let up on this one and I bet that guy’s identity will be revealed soon.

Miss Puerto Rico poisoned - by her own hand?

91785744.jpg

Beauty pageants are a lot scarier than they used to be. Remember that Sandra Bullock movie, “Miss Congeniality?” Whoever would have thought it would be so accurate… and so eerily foreboding. A few months ago Miss New Jersey was blackmailed with some not-very-racy photos that had been on her Facebook page. Now Miss Puerto Rico, Ingrid Marie Rivera, has been poisoned with pepper spray… in a manner of speaking. At first it seemed that one of the other contestants had sprayed it on her gown and makeup. She broke out in a painful rash, and her makeup bag supposedly went missing for a while.

Beating 29 rivals, Rivera took home the crown and the chance to vie in the Miss Universe pageant. Throughout the competition, Rivera was composed while appearing before the cameras and panel of judges. But once off-camera, she was forced to shed her clothes and apply ice bags to her face and body, which twice swelled and broke out in hives, the Associated Press reports.

“We thought at first it was an allergic reaction, or maybe nerves,” said pageant spokesman Harold Rosario. “But the second time, we knew it couldn’t have been a coincidence.” Later, Rivera’s garments and cosmetics tested positive for pepper spray. Rivera’s bag containing her gowns, makeup and credit cards reportedly had also been stolen before the pageant. Saying that she had wavered about remaining in the competition, Rivera, 24, told reporters at a Sunday news conference, “It was a lot of sacrifice, and my tears were genuine,” reports Reuters.

[From People]

Now authorities seem to be pointing the finger at Rivera, since she was able to turn the waterworks off and on at will during Saturday’s competition. That seems like a pretty extreme measure to go to in order to win a pageant, and it could have very easily backfired. Call me naïve, but I’m more likely to believe that she’s just a consummate professional… or at least someone who can pull it together for something she really wants.

Rivera said the same about herself to Vieira and claimed, contrary to reports of police skepticism over the fact that Rivera’s condition only seemed to occur when she was backstage, that her accusations about the pepper spray are genuine.

“It’s not funny,” she said. “It’s real. I had to go through so much … itchy, burning, reddish, swelling … a horrible feeling.” Crime-lab tests on Rivera’s dress and makeup are to begin Wednesday, says NBC News.

[From People]

If nothing else, it seems most beauty pageant contestants are freakishly determined, at least when they get to the national level. It seems unlikely that someone would do that to themselves to get attention… if nothing else, there’s less unattractive ways to get people to feel sorry for you. In a competition focused on appearance, why would someone sabotage the way they look? I generally refuse to watch pageants, but now I’m intrigued. Maybe someone will come down with Chicken Pox at the Miss Universe competition, and then blame that chicken that was lurking around the dressing rooms all day.

Amy Winehouse’s husband could get life in prison

Amy Winehouse may get some much-needed respite from her probably-abusive husband, layabout Blake Fielder-Civil. Blake faces up to life in prison after it was revealed by police that he’s under investigation for arranging to interfere with his upcoming trial by paying off the man he is accused of beating up. Yesterday police staged a dramatic raid of Amy’s London home, with JayBird guessing that it was due to drugs. It turns out that super smart JayBird isn’t psychic, because The Sun reports that the raid was related to the trial-fixing charge and has nothing to do with controlled substances.

Skinny Blake and his friend Michael Brown were due in court today to face charges from beating up a barman, James King. Instead his home was raided and he was taken into custody. It is alleged that Blake concocted a scheme to pay £210,000, about $443,000 USD, to the victim in exchange for him dropping the charges and refusing to testify at trial. What’s more is that Blake supposedly hired two guys to take the man to Spain and “babysit” him until he was in the clear.

Instead of doing the job, the two men Blake paid turned on him, and talked to a newspaper about it. The story is a little confusing to me, but the guys Blake hired supposedly had videotape of him and Brown beating up the barman. Either they were friends of his and were taping it, or they just happened to be there and got footage of the incident. Then Blake tried to pay them off by hiring them to cover it up and take the victim out of the country:

A Metropolitan police spokesman said: “A thorough investigation is being carried out into claims of conspiracy to pervert justice in connection with a trial.

“Three men have been arrested and are being questioned. We’re expecting to make further arrests.

The alleged conspiracy is reported to have emerged after two men named ANT and JAY contacted a newspaper in October claiming to be in possession of footage of the alleged attack on King by Fielder-Civil and Brown.

Ant then went on to allege he and Jay were to be paid for organising a deal between King and his claimed attackers and for “babysitting” the barman overseas until charges were dropped.

A film is reported to have been made of King claiming he would withdraw his court statement regarding the alleged attack as soon as £210,000 was deposited into his bank account.

A meeting is reported to have happened behind a seedy boozer in central London where Ant, Jay, Brown and Fielder-Civil thrashed out details of the plot.

After the meeting King is alleged to have appeared on video saying: “Fifth November 2007, I James King hereby without pressure or duress wish to withdraw any legal statements previously made or written concerning the arrest of Blake Fielder-Civil and Michael Brown over the GBH charges relating to my injuries. I have no intention of going to court or helping any further.”

“I feel this is in the best interests of mine and my family’s safety.”

Reports go on to claim flight tickets from London to Marbella were due to be booked yesterday.

However, Ant and Jay were arrested outside a pub yesterday.

Fielder-Civil is due in Snaresbrook Crown Court, East London, with Brown on Monday.

[From The Sun]

That’s serious! It sounds like something a dumb ass young rich guy would do, thinking he could easily make it all go away. Blake is going to be the one going away instead, and it may be for a very long time. It’s bound to hurt Amy at first, but given how obviously difficult her marriage is with Blake, it sounds like a big break for her. Maybe she’ll be able to concentrate fully on her career once the creep is behind bars.

Here’s Amy Winehouse yesterday before the big raid. She went to the post office, to a convenience store, and to her accountants. She was playing hooky from her job that day, and cost her record company $150,000, as JayBird reported earlier, by telling them that she would come to a video shoot momentarily but failing to show up all day. Thanks to Splash News for these pictures.

Iggy the Dog scandal escalates out of control

wickedwitchmarinabaktis1.jpg
The Iggy the Dog scandal has reached critical mass, with news outlets all over the world reporting on the outrageous story of how a little pooch was snatched from a loving family after a minor bureaucratic snafu with the adoption agency. Ellen Degeneres, who gifted the dog to her hairdresser’s family after adopting it from the agency Mutts and Moms, has called for an end to the scandal, and asks us all to please move on.

People are so upset over how the dog was so heartlessly taken from the loving family Ellen transferred him to that they’ve been making death threats to the agency’s owner.

The woman from the agency, Marina Baktis, told the family she was coming over for a house check after they filled out an online application and then immediately grabbed the dog, holding him for two hours until the police came and checked its digital chip to verify that the agency, not the family with who Iggy had been living for two weeks, was the rightful owner.

At that point she fled with the little black dog, the theme song for the wicked witch of the west playing in everyone’s head.

TMZ has a video of the dog-napping and it’s quite damning. The woman is shown turning away from the concerned little girl several times while she clutches the dog. Baktis’ anger at how Ellen flouted rules by transferring ownership must have clouded her judgment and made her oblivious to all the bad PR that was about to be heaped onto her agency.

Baktis has already given the dog to another family, a fact that Ellen says she finds unbelievable and surreal. Still, Ellen says she doesn’t want any more hysteria over it and she’s not going to talk about it anymore unless there’s news that Iggy was returned to his last family. She says we all need to be aware of our rights when adopting pets and insist that they switch the microchips to the new owner’s names.

As JayBird mentioned yesterday, hopefully this won’t discourage people from adopting shelter pets who so badly need loving homes.

More Vanessa Anne Hudgens semi-scandalous pics, plus Disney wants replacement

Unsurprisingly, even more facebook-style pics have emerged of overnight sensation Vanessa Hudgens, who gained a modicum of fame after some nude pictures of her were conveniently leaked online. We’ve been warned by the National Enquirer that more nude pictures might be coming, as she was said to have sent a third guy naked pictures of herself back when she was just 15.

Now some slightly more racy pictures of her posing with friends suggestively and wearing sort of slutty outfits have come out. These aren’t much more damning than the last set of pictures of her with friends that we saw last week. Since the Vanessa Hudgens pics were so popular, I may as well publish these. There are some upskirts here that are attributed to Hudgens, but they’re hard to verify.

While Disney has announced that they won’t replace Hudgens in High School Musical follow-ups following her nude picture scandal, the National Enquirer is reporting that they’re quietly grooming another young starlet to take her place:

The Enquirer has learned that while Disney is publicly backing star Vanessa Hudgens despite her nude photo hitting the Internet, the family oriented Mousemen have privately been considering replacing her with a young blonde.

After the scandal broke, Disney began looking at Adrienne Bailon, a 23-year-old member of The Cheetah Girls, a multiplatinum pop and R&B group, for a third HSM movie, revealed an insider.

“She said Disney is making her dye her blonde hair dark and is also having her do tons of promotional press to build her image and make her more visible.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, October 1, 2007]

You know, I had only heard of Vanessa Hudgens in passing until this nude photo scandal, so I stand by my original assessment that it was all for publicity. This week I even saw Vanessa and Zac Efron in a small inset photo on the cover of Germany’s biggest celebrity magazine, Gala, with the headline “America’s new teen stars” or something similar. She probably wants to be let out of her Disney contract so she’s not typecast, so if someone else is cast in her role she’ll try to move on to bigger and better things. Can she act, though? I haven’t seen HSM, I’m not sorry to say. Does it really matter if she can act?

Thanks to Right Celebrity for these pics.

Update: Photos removed by legal request.

Britney may lose her kids - she hired a hitman to kill K-Fed (update: not true)

There was a crazy story today in ETOnline that the FBI and LAPD were conducting an investigation into “legitimate leads” that there was a hit out on K-Fed’s life. I honestly didn’t think of Britney at all when I heard that, and assumed that there must be a lot of people who would pay good money to off the guy. The way they phrase it makes it seem like a well-sourced story, and one they wouldn’t repeat lightly:

Multiple sources tell ET that the FBI made attempts to contact Federline to inform him of the potential danger.

Sources within the FBI tell ET that this is the bureau’s standard operating procedure when someone’s life is threatened.

ET has been working this story for the past two months. When contacted, the FBI told us that the bureau cannot confirm or deny an investigation.

[ETOnline.com]

Right before a secret witness was called this morning in a custody hearing, Britney’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, abruptly quit. It’s really not news when someone who works for Britney quits at a crucial moment, because she always manages to piss off people enough that they decide that no amount of money is worth the craziness and humiliation that go along with working for Brit.

Wasser may have had a very good reason to get the hell out of there before the ish hit the fan - there are rumors that the hit on K-Fed’s life was put out by none other than Britney - and that the secret witness submitted a sworn statement to that!

Our guy down at the courthouse today tells us a celeb news magazine show had a producer there for the hearing in Britney and Kevin’s custody case where uber-attorney Gloria Allred was to produce a ’secret witness’ and the mic-holder was yelling out questions about allegations of Britney having hired a hitman to kill Kevin Federline?!!! What?!

Even Allred looked shocked and she seemed to have no idea what this ill-informed producer was talking about and we’re pretty certain that info is totally WACK!

Anyway, we’ve got tape of all of this AND an ID on the ’secret witness’ coming soon!

[From X17online.com]

Maybe Britney used her pea-sized brain to figure out that five alimony payments at $20k each would be more than the going rate for having her ex offed. That would have been a bargain compared to years of ongoing payments.

If this is true Britney could be the fourth young female celebridiot to face jail time - and it’s not going to be two days in the slammer if she conspired to kill her husband. I wondered why it was taking so long for her to get arrested when she’s more of a trainwreck than Paris, Lohan and Nicole combined. Maybe she’ll try and get pregnant by whatever guy will have her in order to avoid a longer sentence. That’s probably the only strategy she’ll be able to come up with to deal with this mess.

This whole circus is about to get a hell of a lot more interesting.

Update: The LAPD and FBI both deny any investigation into a possible hit on K-Fed. Damn, I really loved this story.
