I had the chance to read Elizabeth Edwards’ full interview in People Magazine, which I believe is the second time she’s spoken on the record since her maybe-pending divorce was announced. (I say “on the record,” because People has likely run unsourced quotes from Elizabeth in earlier articles that directly quoted her sister.) Earlier this week Elizabeth made an appearance on The Today Show where she said she identified with Sandra Bullock and the way she wants to “reclaim” her identity after the press covered her husband’s infidelity. Unlike Sandra, Elizabeth hasn’t taken the high road though. She will call Rielle pathetic while praising and making excuses for her lying, cheating husband.

Despite filing for divorce, Elizabeth hasn’t called John out on his blatant lies. She also doesn’t intend to make the divorce final unless he forces her hand, and you know he won’t. In the People interview, she explains away his behavior, including recent reports that he’s been drunkenly picking up women in bars. She even says that John still insists he’s not seeing Rielle, and she doesn’t say she doubts him or thinks he’s a son of a bitch. All she says is that his “conduct through this whole thing was terrible… on a personal level, he’s paid a lot [for it].” On one hand she’s being gracious, on the other hand she never says that she was hurt or devastated or that she didn’t deserve to be treated like this. It’s all about John and how he feels.

When I see John, I don’t just see the today that others see. I see all the memories – the look on his face when he held our children as newborns, and embarrassed pride as he showed his parents through our first house, the loving way he looked at me when we were with others, the soft and vulnerable way he looked at me and held me when we were alone. We have raised four children, and we have buried one. So when I closed the door on the John of today, I also had to say good-bye to that sweet man whom I had loved for so long. It was not as easy as it might have seemed to anyone looking in from the outside, who knew only the John of today. And I have to wonder if he is sad, too, when he thinks of that young man.

It’s sad that Elizabeth is somehow blaming herself for her husband acting like a dog in heat. Read what she said “It was hard [for him] to live with somebody who’s disappointed in him.” It’s as if she didn’t have good cause to be “disappointed”! Hell she had good cause to kick his ass to the curb, take half his money and talk smack about him to every outlet in town. The guy lied on national television and continues to lie to her, and she doesn’t even seem to question him. Did she even see or hear about Rielle’s Oprah interview? I understand why this lady is still in denial about her husband’s actions, and I understand that she must be desperate to keep her family together as she faces cancer and perhaps the end of her life. I feel sorry for her, but more than that I want to somehow convince her that it’s not her fault that John did this to her and that she no longer has to worry about him. It’s time she took care of herself, and told John to go to hell. He may have been a great dad and partner for decades, but he’s no longer that person. She realizes that, but can’t let go and see reality.

Miley Cyrus is still on her media tour! Last night it was David Letterman, and this morning is was Good Morning America. Since I’m having a bad really bad day and I don’t give a sh-t, I’m just going to try to find some of the better quotes from her Letterman interview – from what I could see, she didn’t really say anything groundbreaking. Let’s see – when asked about how she was growing up too fast, Miley said: “I’ve gone through awesome things and I’ve gotten to perform and do what I love. I don’t think I’ve missed out on anything, but it’s hard with the comments and growing up. You can YouTube me, because half the comments are like, ‘She sounds like crap!’ I’m like, ‘At least I’m singing live, so take that!’” Fascinating, right? Snore.

Oh, but Miley did get Letterman to laugh. He was telling her that her career is “the kind of thing that’s so hard, maybe only a 17-year-old could do it really. You gotta have that energy.” Miley replied: “But you did it — see there’s just a handful of people, and you’re one of them. The only two 17-year-old girls that made it, me and you.” Here’s a clip:

Meanwhile, Miley was more subdued and serious for her Good Morning America appearance. They got her to talk about Perez Hilton and the Photoshopped vadge, and Miley was… not really upset by it, it seems. She just says, “There are people that are negative just to be that way. You’ve got to push through all that and just be like ‘This is my life.‘ ” What?

With her longtime hit show Hannah Montana coming to an end, Miley Cyrus is ready to let her own personality take center stage. And that includes a racy music video that’s stirred up a bit of controversy for the 17-year-old.

“You have to be who you are to the full,” Cyrus said during a Good Morning America interview Friday, dressed in a studded leather jacket, David Bowie T-shirt and ripped black jeans. “There’s nothing that I’m holding back. And that’s what I want to give to my girl fans. Just be who you are.”

In fact, Cyrus claims that her newest album Can’t Be Tamed showcases the real Miley Cyrus. “This record is the first album where it’s completely me,” she says.

In a career that puts her right in the spotlight, Cyrus admits that growing up as a celebrity isn’t always easy. “It’s always going to be hard because there’s so much stuff you’ve got to get through before you an get to the stuff that’s real,” she says. “There’s all the people that are like, ‘Yes! It’s gonna be great! You’re the biggest thing ever!’ when really, I just want the truth. ”

Alluding to the Perez Hilton paparazzi photo scandal, Cyrus says, “There are people that are negative just to be that way. You’ve got to push through all that and just be like ‘This is my life.’ ”

Of course, with a life that includes being friends with Bret Michaels, things aren’t all bad. Two the performed together on Good Morning America, singing a duet of “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” which appears on Cyrus’s new album as a dedication to her mom, Leticia “Tish” Cyrus. “Our families have been friends for a while,” says Michaels. “She’s a great musician and she’s one of those people who will make that huge transition into remaining a superstar. She can rock it for sure.”

And it seems Michaels was a big musical influence on Cyrus as a child. “My first concert was a Poison concert,” she says. “That was an interesting night. I was probably about 8 and my mom dragged me and my brother.”

Sounds like Miley isn’t too mad, I guess. Good for her? Sure. I have mixed feelings because I think the whole Miley-is-a-victim-of-Perez thing just gave her a mountain of publicity, most of which probably benefited her greatly. Still, it was a scrummy thing for Perez to do, and I was seriously expecting Miley, Billy Ray and Tish (and Noah!) to all have multiple interviews bashing Perez, and that didn’t happen. Maturity? Class? Dignity? In the Cyrus family?!?

Fox News has a breakdown of the ways that celebrity mistresses have cashed in on the recent high profile scandals. It’s mostly information we’ve heard before, but the way they put it all together to spell out what a financial boon this is to the women is very eye opening. Mistresses stand to get paid post-scandal in all sorts of ways: by stripping as “the mistress of…”, selling interviews and details, and hiring Gloria Allred to threaten their former lovers in exchange for a payoff. One of the most lucrative methods is posing for Playboy, an option that is only open to the “classiest” (eyeroll) of prostitute mistresses, like Ashley Dupre and Rachel Uchitel. Here’s more on that, and it includes the detail that the woman managing the stripper tour featuring mistresses of Tiger, Jesse and David Boreanaz is also trying to set up some kind of reality show for her girls. Good luck with that.

With the concept of shame out the window and infamy guaranteed by one phone call to US Weekly, the options for the mistresses of Tiger Woods, Jesse James and other high profile philanderers to make bank these days are many. Some participate in cash prize beauty pageants, some sell their stories, text messages and pictures to magazines and television outlets, and some, like porn stars Holly Sampson and Joslyn James, have used the scandal to reinvent their careers in stripping and porn.

“[A sex] scandal provides a short term spike in interest and these mistresses would have to be crazy not to try to capitalize on it. Their fame and fortune may not be enduring but if they can turn 15 minutes of fame into a year of income, they can walk away with about a million dollars,” explains Nelson Gayton, executive director of the Center for Management of Enterprise in Media, Entertainment & Sports at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. “There is money to be made here so we are certainly not going to see less of this going forward.”

Indeed the growing supply of women telling tales of sleeping with married celebs has yet to outstrip demand.

“America is fascinated with the mistress right now. They have become a commodity. We don’t see them as names, just as juicy stories that can give us some insight into the character of the celebrity they slept with,” explains “Cult of Celebrity” author Cooper Lawrence. “As long as there is an appetite for them and what they represent then we will see more people paying more money for them to do things.”

Sampson and James joined forces this week with Jesse James’ alleged mistress Melissa Smith to make an appearance at the “eXXXtacy 2010″ adult film convention in Chicago July 16-18. Joslyn’s manager Gina Rodriguez, herself a self-proclaimed mistress of actor David Boreanaz, is hoping to book the women at various conventions and strip clubs across the country for a kind of traveling mistress minstrel show that could translate into fees of $10,000 per girl per appearance.

Rodriguez told Fox411.com that she’s also in the process of shopping a reality television show for the three girls, herself and January Gessert, the woman who reportedly came between Reggie Bush and his one-time reality television love Kim Kardashian. The reality show would pay the women $3,000 – $5,000 per episode.

While Sampson, James and Smith are collecting smaller payments here and there, some mistresses find it more lucrative to make a large chunk of change all at once by posing for Playboy. This option is available only to the very high profile mistresses, like Ashley Dupre, the call girl who brought down New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer. Dupre posed nude in the May issue of the magazine. Playboy also made an offer to Rachel Uchitel, mistress number one in the Tiger Woods scandal, who will appear in the magazine in an upcoming issue.

There has been speculation that these women were paid up to $1 million to pose. While Playboy never confirms the amount it pays women to pose, it does say that the numbers floated in the media are an exaggeration. Insiders say that Dupre and Uchitel were paid closer to the range of $100,000 to $300,000 to pose nude for the magazine.

I also wanted to comment on this super obnoxious statement by the CEO of that site that sets up married guys with opportunistic hookers willing to take advantage of their horniness and lack of morals, “Ashley Madison.” In defending his decision to hire Michelle “white supremacist” McGee as a spokesperson, Ashley Madison CEO Noel Biderman told Fox News “there were three people involved in this affair, and the one who is least accountable for the demise of Sandra and Jesse’s marriage is Michelle. It’s called accountability, and it is sorely lacking in the coverage of this story to date.” What. An. Asshole! He is saying that it’s more Sandra Bullock’s fault that Jesse “pit bull face” James cheated than it is Michelle’s. Sandra was not “involved in this affair,” she was a victim of it and many others, but of course we can’t expect the CEO of a cheaters’ site to have any sympathy for the wronged wives.

The former Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson was caught up in a bribing scandal about a week ago when a video surfaced of her soliciting a $750,000 bribe in exchange for a meeting with her ex husband, Prince Andrew. Andrew is the UK’s “Special Representative for International Trade and Investment,” which means that he makes business deals for England around the world. Fergie hasn’t hidden from the scandal and both issued an apology admitting guilt and made pre-scheduled public appearances, including an ill-timed event honoring her charity efforts.

Fergie lives with Prince Andrew in a home in London provided for her by the royal family along with her daughters, Princesses Beatrice, 21 and Eugenie, 20. It’s thought that Andrew has already forgiven Sarah and pledged that she can continue living with him as long as she would like. They’ve been called “the world’s happiest divorced couple,” and are said to be best friends.

Now the former Duchess is doing the ultimate in mea culpa interviews with a visit to Oprah. Her interview airs today, and advance details have her admitting that she has a drinking problem and that she’s broke. I’m really wondering how much Prince Andrew was involved and if he either turned a blind eye toward her schemes or was complicit in them. In her apology, Fergie denied that Andrew had any knowledge of the bribe, and said he “was not aware or involved in any of the discussions that occurred.” However, in the tape she told her would-be benefactor that “[Prince Andrew] knows that he’s had to underwrite me up to now because I’ve got no money.”

The devil — and booze — made her do it.

When Sarah Ferguson asked an undercover reporter for more than $700,000 in exchange for access to ex Prince Andrew — the chat was caught on tape — she was in dire straits indeed.

But has she seen the incriminating tape?

“I haven’t faced the devil in the face, because I was in the gutter at the moment,” the Duchess of York, 50, admits on the Oprah Winfrey Show in an episode airing Tuesday.

“I”m aware of the fact that I’ve been drinking, you know, that I was not in the right place.”

Insiders close to the British “Fergie” tell Us Weekly that they weren’t surprised by her bold, reckless act. “She’s totally broke,” one source insists. “Her desperation led to the lack of judgment.”

The source adds that the mother of Beatrice, 21, and Eugenie, 20, is “a shopaholic, obsessed with designers like Chanel and Hermes…she didn’t know how to stop living like a royal.”

Her next step? “She wants to start fresh in America.”

Fergie has even expressed interest in participating in the next Dancing with the Stars.

We have just as much booze and shopping in America, maybe more so (because the stores and bars are open later!) than in England, so Fergie is going to have to face her demons no matter where she ends up. In the US she wouldn’t be hounded as much by the press, though, because we have more minor celebrities to occupy us.

Last week, Bill Zwecker in the Chicago Sun Times claimed that a “very rich” British man offered Fergie “a posh Upper East Side apartment rent-free for a year.” Zwecker also mentioned that Fergie said in a 2006 interview that she would love to do Dancing With The Stars. Maybe this scandal will help her get sober and back on her feet. She could have increased her celebrity factor enough to warrant a DWTS invitation. If celebrity mistresses can earn opportunities and notoriety, then Fergie can get some mileage out of a thwarted attempt to accept a payoff.

Radar Online has an interview with Melissa Smith, a blonde professional adult entertainer (I wanted to make that sound fancy) who was the second publicly identified mistress of Jesse James. Smith shared her thoughts on the James interview on Nightline, in which he revealed that he was physically and emotionally abused as a child and explained away his massive infidelity as a way of compensating. Unlike Bombshell McGee, Smith was more convinced and moved by James’ interview, and said that she got teary-eyed at some points. She doesn’t think it excuses his behavior, but she could relate to James.

The thing that struck me about this video was how slowly Smith talked and how she sounded just like James. It’s probably a product of where they grew up as much as anything else, but she seemed way more his (slow/dumb) speed than Sandra. Smith sided with Sandra in this case, and said “I don’t think any woman should have to put up with that kind of infidelity.” It’s too bad that didn’t dawn on her when she was banging Sandra’s husband.

Only RadarOnline.com was with Smith as she watched the bombshell interview on ABC’s Nightline, in which James wept as he openly talked about his repeated infidelities.

“When he cried, I was a little teary eyed,” Smith exclusively admitted to RadarOnline.com, in her first major interview since being linked to the cheating scandal.

“I felt for him, I really did, because I could understand the place where he is coming from.”

James, 41, told Nightline he cheated on his “perfect” wife with multiple women because his father used to beat and emotionally abuse him as a child.

But, in a statement to ABC News, James’ father Larry James called the allegations of abuse “untrue.”

Still, James claimed the abuse led him to think he didn’t deserve to live a fairy-tale life, he claimed.

“Oh wow,” said Smith, when the West Coast Choppers boss laid bare his soul, claiming he never had a chance to be “a kid” because his father used to “terrorize” him.

“I understand where he is coming from. You put up those walls to deflect the pain.”

Smith later revealed she could relate to his childhood problems and deduced their romance, almost unbeknown to her, was forged through mutual feelings.

“I always knew there was a vulnerable side to him, I understand those kind of people because I am one of them,” she said.

When James briefly halted the interview after being overcome with emotion, Smith too, showed signs of breaking a tough emotional barrier she at first protested.

As RadarOnline.com discovered, it wasn’t all sympathy.

Her emotions seesawed from pain, to sympathy — and at times — sheer disgust.

“You broke her f—– heart dude, it’s —– up,” Smith said at one stage and even reduced to calling him, “a jerk”.

When James admitted to multiple affairs, we asked Smith if she thought he confessed to Bullock about their affair.

“I’m pretty sure he didn’t tell her everything,” she said. “I’m assuming he didn’t tell her about me.”

It’s easy to see how James became seduced by Smith — and her story eerily follows the same path as Michelle “Bombshell” McGee, the o-called mistress #1 , who incidentally, she last spoke to just a few days ago.

“But I am before Michelle,” insisted Smith, of her two-and-a-half year romance with James.

“Forget Bombshell being called mistress number one, that’s me.”

Like Bombshell, James first contacted Smith online. The philandering bad boy reached out to her via MySpace in September 2006, a year after he married Bullock.

After a few e-mail exchanges, he introduced himself as Jesse James, dished his e-mail address and offered up the nickname “Vanilla Gorilla”.

What followed, as it turned out, was just another in a string of illicit trysts.

“I am part of nobody’s pack, posse, or harem. If anything, he was part of my pack,” she said.

According to Smith, the rendezvous only ever took place at James‚ West Coast Choppers headquarters in Long Beach.

They never dated socially. He never took her out on a date, nor did she ever want to, she said.

“I don’t ever want to say it was a relationship. I knew I wasn‚t the only one and I knew that he was, at least, dating Sandra… I never took it seriously… (it was) a fling here and there.”

They would covertly meet at his place of business and the sex would take place inside his office ˜ the same sex spot favored by Bombshell and others.

There, both would indulge in unprotected sex, she would satisfy James‚ kinky requests and they would have intercourse on his office couch.

But they never mentioned Sanda, ever. Or his children.

“It ultimately ended because I was in a relationship… and my conscious [sic] did start to catch up with me when I realized he and Sandra were together.

“As far as any sexual relations went, I did not want to proceed in that direction.”

They last communicated in January, this year. It was a text message, in which James wished her merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Why then, given some sense of loyalty, did Smith decide to turn on him?

“I saw the negative publicity Bombshell was getting — people discounting her — and I wanted to let Sandra know that this wasn’t just one person, a one time thing,” Smith said, insisting she never intended to hurt Bullock.

“I didn’t want her to forgive him… I wanted her to know there were multiple situations… and it was a serious issue.

“I don’t believe any woman should have to put up with that kind of infidelity. She deserves better. He is a great guy, yes, but he does have demons and she shouldn’t have to deal with them. I believe she is doing the right thing (with a divorce).”

This girl is all “I’m better than McGee” and still insists she was James’ “first” mistress, but is trying to act like he didn’t mean anything to her anyway. The poor thing. I feel just about as bad for her as I did for James. For Sandra’s sake I hope no additional mistresses grant interviews. Then again, if she sees the kind of half wits her husband favored maybe it will make the decision to divorce him that much easier for her.

Jesse James interview part 1. More videos are below

We’ve seen plenty of clips from Jesse James’ Nightline interview, which finally aired last night. Among the advance details that were strategically revealed was the fact that Jesse thought he wanted to get caught and that he was sabotaging a good life, and that he denied being racist, as could be assumed by that Nazi salute photo and all the eyewitness accounts of him hurling racial slurs. Now that the full interview has aired, we’re hearing Jesse’s excuses and rationalizations for his bad behavior, primarily that he was abused as a child and lived in fear of a father with rage issues. According to Jesse, the childhood abuse lead him to feel like he wasn’t good enough for Sandra and to act out behind her back. Jesse says he’s not a sex addict, though, and that the infidelity was part of other bad behavior he was engaging in to “sabotage” his life. E! Not that Jesse James is making excuses at this point, but he has finally offered up a bit of the psychology that may have contributed to the relentlessly thoughtless chain of behavior that resulted in his current celebrity-pariah status.

Discussing the reasons why he checked into a treatment facility in the wake of his cheating scandal, James admitted that anger management and so-called sex addiction were two of them.

Another, he says, was that he’s a victim of childhood abuse and needed to stop letting it dictate the course of his personal life.

“My whole childhood I never had a chance to be a kid,” James, who lived with his dad after his parents divorced, said during his tell-all interview that aired on Nightline Tuesday.

“I remember the clenched-teeth, strained-neck look on his face. He beat my ass pretty good a bunch of times. Football star, bike builder, Monster Garage TV star—all that stuff is a huge smokescreen so people won’t see that I’m a scared, abused kid, a 7-year-old.”

His father denied the abuse allegations in an email to ABC.

But James bluntly and, at times, quite emotionally related his memories of growing up, including breaking his arm at the age of 7 when his father was chasing him through their house.

“I remember my dad laughed when I hit the ground and called me a dummy,” said the burly entrepreneur, whose demeanor was more stoic than anything else when he nearly made it to the finals of Celebrity Apprentice last year.

“It wasn’t getting the s–t beat out of me…It was the in-between time, the fear of that happening again. I was a terrorized kid. It’s really tough for me to think about now, because…” James trailed off, tears welling in his eyes.

“Sunny’s the age that I was…when my dad broke my arm,” he said before interrupting the interview to take a break.

As for the antics that made him more notorious than merely famous in recent months, at least James isn’t blaming sex addiction, saying he knows he doesn’t have a clinical condition.

“I don’t think I have a sex addiction where I’m running around trying to have sex with everyone and I can’t stop,” he explained.

“I think I do things to sabotage myself, including having extramarital affairs, texting, over-working myself, injuring myself, doing stunts and stupid things. I do a lot of things in my life that I shouldn’t be doing that aren’t conducive to being a good husband. The affair is just one of them.”

He said that he still has hopes of “saving some kind of relationship with Sandy,” but also said that there’s no way of salvaging their marriage.

“Absolutely not, we’re getting divorced,” James said, his signature bluntness at the surface once again.

As I’ve said before, James seems kind of dumb to me. The thing that surprised me about this interview was his little p*ssy voice, as Kaiser puts it so well. The guy is not the sharpest tool and had trouble expressing himself at times. He did seem more human to me after watching this, though, and I can see what Sandra sees/saw in him. James did some terrible things to the woman he loved, but does that make him a terrible person? James being abused as a kid or not being in touch with his feelings of inadequacy doesn’t excuse the way he acted out and betrayed Sandra repeatedly over the years. Sandra seems to realize this, and James said that there’s “absolutely” no chance of them saving their marriage. I hope she finds someone who will treat her with respect behind her back as well as to her face.

Nightline is releasing segments of their Jesse James interview in drips and drabs and they’re surely getting plenty of press for it. On Friday we saw a preview of widdle Jessie admitting he cheated, then crying and walking off set. Today we’re hearing more from the 41 year-old motorcycle mogul, including the tidbit that he feels that he was self sabotaging his great life by banging strippers (not his exact terminology) and that he still loves and cares about the wife he so publicly wronged, Sandra Bullock.

Jesse James says he knew Sandra Bullock would catch him cheating sooner or later – and that he wanted to be caught, because deceiving her sickened him.

“When I was doing it, you know, one, I knew it was horrible, it made me feel horrible,” James tells ABC’s Nightline in an interview airing Tuesday. “And two, I knew I would get caught eventually, and I think I wanted to get caught. … It was me trying to self-sabotage my life.”

Asked why he’d hurt someone who was – and he says still is – the most important person in his life, James is at a loss for words. “It’s hard for me to talk about, a little bit, because I still really love her and care about her,” he says.

But the West Coast Choppers owner, 41, is under no illusions about the level of that hurt. “I’ve spent my whole life with the kids and with her trying to … protect her from everything, but the most hurt she’s ever been caused is by the person that wanted to protect her,” he says.

In an earlier promo for the show, James admits: “I took a pretty amazing life and marriage … and threw it away.”

Allegations of James’s infidelity emerged shortly after Bullock, 45, won an Oscar for her leading role in The Blind Side in March.

In the Nightline interview, James will also address whether Bullock knew anything about his affairs, what he really went to rehab for, and what role – if any – will he play in the life of Bullock’s adopted son, Louis.

Did he love himself more than Sandra? The evidence seems to say so.” A lot of men do that and don’t have the balls to admit the truth even after they’re caught. Instead they beg their wives to take them back and then blame them for not giving them a chance when they’re the ones who ruined their marriages in the first place.

This is somewhat prejudiced of me, but James’ California drawl makes him sound a bit dull. On someone else I would interpret it as laid back, but he seems slow to me and I find his voice annoying. He’s all “I hurt her,” “I think I wanted to get caught,” but all I hear is a guy who is going through the motions. Maybe he’s all broken up about it, but I just get the impression that he’s proud of what he did. I could be wrong, but it’s like he’s bragging that he took down America’s Sweetheart and not like he’s apologizing. The good news is that Nightline’s Vicki Mabrey says that the divorce is 100% moving forward. She adds that James told her the public was harder on him than Sandy [has been], though. Poor, misunderstood Jesse.

Update: I worded that second to last paragraph vaguely, and a lot of you are commenting that Jesse is surprised that the public was harder on him than they were on Sandra. I’m sorry for writing it that way, I meant that “James told [interviewer Vicki Mabrey] that the public was harder on him than Sandra has been.” Meaning that Sandra didn’t give him as much grief for cheating on her as we did.

A lot of you pointed out that on the cover the new People Magazine, which features Jennifer Hudson’s weight loss, there’s an inset item featuring Jesse James and his giant forehead. James looks at the camera with those sad dopey puppy dog eyes and the title reads “Jesse James: Tortured by Regret”. Let me just say the obvious now: the douche regrets that he got caught. He probably has reasoned the whole thing away and still feels like the misunderstood victim who just picked the wrong stripper to mess with. He was cheating for years before he ended up with one who talked.

James to appear on Nightline Tuesday
There’s nothing on People’s website yet about this story. The tabloids come out this afternoon so I’ll pick up this issue and see what poor James says. This People interview seems to be part of some kind of media tour. An interview with James will be shown on Nightline next Tuesday, and ABC News has a teaser online that doesn’t include any quotes from James. I doubt that the guy says much more than we’ve already heard from him.

James’ statements have all been about him and how he feels
Here’s a recap of some statements from James in reverse order: He “let Sandra go” and file for divorce but knows he can still be a good husband and wants her back. He also asked us to please not judge her for what he’s done. Hah! His now ex-lawyer called media coverage of Jesse’s affairs “sheer voyeurism and bullying… disgusting” and added that Jesse wanted Sandra back. That same lawyer claimed in early April that James was wearing a nazi hat from a “Jewish mentor” in that nazi salute photo and that he spent a year in a Kibbutz in Isreal, an interesting twist on the “I have black friends” defense. At that time, the lawyer also confirmed that James was in rehab and asked us all to respect his privacy. He made a statement a day earlier that Jesse “realized that this time was crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage.” In his initial statement following the scandal, James said he was truly sorry for what he did, and asked for forgiveness. From what I can tell this was the only time he focused on anyone besides himself and what he wanted.

James can’t escape the details, and there are plenty
Looking through our Jesse James archives, I’m reminded of so many sordid details in this story. Some of us surf the Internet at work for much needed diversion, but James used the Internet to pick up chicks and bang them on his office couch, which was in the shape of a coffin. There are the five known mistresses, the three sexual harassment lawsuits, the random threesomes at tattoo parlors. Yet the bulk of Jesse’s statements aren’t about how he regrets things he’s done and how he’s betrayed the woman who stood by him and cared for his children. It’s all about Jesse and how he feels getting called out and how he wants his wife back. This interview is sure to be more of the same.

On whether Bullock and James are back together
There’s speculation that James and Sandra may be secretly seeing each other again. James was present at the People photo shoot for Sandra’s newly adopted baby, Louis. That took place after the Oscars and before the news of the affairs broke, though. It just shows that James was still playing the devoted husband and father at home while he was catting around on the side as usual. Sandra still hadn’t heard the news yet, and the moment she learned she left with Louis. (That may have been more to protect Louis from the paparazzi than to necessarily get away from James, but it served both purposes.)

Sandra has already filed for divorce, and I doubt she’s putting up with his lies any longer. She’s probably being classy about it and ensuring that he still can see Louis. She wants to maintain a close relationship with James’ three children too, to whom she has no legal claim and still relies on his goodwill to see them.

Yesterday, Radar had the scoop that “someone” had a video of a 16-year-old Miley Cyrus giving a 44-year-old gay film producer a “grinding” lap dance. This all took place at the wrap party for The Last Song last summer. I didn’t really doubt that the video existed, or that Miley did in fact give a dude a lap dance, and it looks like both were true. TMZ got a hold of the video (or part of the video, since this thing looks edited). Here it is, courtesy of TMZ:

My first reaction was “This is totally not as scandalous as Radar made it seem”. The party seems very crowded, and it doesn’t even seem like many people are paying any attention to Miley at first. Of course, then she climbs on a chair and rubs her ass on a 44-year-old dude, so people start paying attention. So… it is pretty gross when you think about it. I don’t care if Adam Shankman is gay – why in the world is a 44-year-old man dancing with a 16-year-old like that? Also – this is not Miley’s first time at the lap dance rodeo, even though I don’t consider this particular instance a “lap dance”. It’s more like some gross, underage dirty dancing, I guess. There is grinding. There is a lot of hip action. And she’s good at it, and she’s done it many times before. TMZ reports that “We’re told Miley’s parents were not at the wrap party. Miley’s reps had no comment.” I can’t see how Miley’s parents would object, seriously. What are they going to do? Take away the stripper pole she had installed in her house, where she’s now living alone?

Various outlets are reporting that Tiger Woods and his estranged wife Elin are moving forward with their divorce, and that they’re working to keep the details confidential and out of the press. They may ultimately be successful, but we’re bound to get some information given the interest in this whole sordid affair. Both TMZ and Radar have the news, with some additional information from The Chicago Sun Times. I’ll just quote them all at once, and it’s worth noting that they’re consistent with both each other and previous reports. Tiger and Elin reportedly want to share joint custody and it’s Elin’s idea to make it a permanent split, having tried to reconcile through counseling and finding Tiger’s response lacking. They’re supposedly still not sure whether they’ll file in the US or in Sweden, but are no longer fighting and are both committed to their children.

TMZ – they want a quick and confidential divorce
Sources very familiar with the situation tell TMZ … the most important thing for both Tiger and Elin is keeping the terms of the divorce confidential. We’re told Tiger has a team — partly based in NYC — that is working on the division of assets. But … as TMZ first told you … the key player is West Palm Beach lawyer Thomas Sasser, an expert in child custody agreements that involve more than one jurisdiction. – From TMZ

Radar – divorce is Elin’s idea
“There is no arguing any more,” one source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com. “They don’t fight. There is a coldness between them and it’s Elin who is pulling the plug on the marriage.”

Both Tiger and Elin have seen divorce lawyers multiple times, as RadarOnline.com reported exclusively. But it is Elin who is leading the way in ending the marriage because the damage from Tiger’s serial cheating has been too extensive to overcome.

“She tried to put things back together,” said the source. “She went to therapy with Tiger. She gave it a shot moving forward.”

But there were so many women and so many betrayals – including the daughter of a neighbor – that every time Elin and Tiger took a step forward, they would then take two steps back, the source told RadarOnline.com. – From Radar

Radar – they’re committed to joint custody
In the past month, they have spent only a few days together and both have seen divorce lawyers.

And one source familiar with the situation tells RadarOnline.com that the couple will share joint custody of the children if the divorce goes through.

“They have not been getting along as a married couple but there has been no conflict over the children,” the source told RadarOnline.com. “They both want what’s best for the kids.

Chicago Sun Times – divorce is almost finalized, Elin is house-hunting
Elin Nordegren — the maiden name Tiger Woods’ soon-to-be-ex-wife now prefers — has been house-hunting in South Florida. One requirement: a guest house where Tiger can stay when he visits the couple’s children.

The huge financial issues have been resolved. Along with very specific custody issues, Elin reportedly is insisting their divorce settlement include a pledge by Tiger to keep their two children his ”principal heirs,” even if he eventually remarries and has more kids. – From Chicago Sun Times

While Tiger and Elin are working to make their split legal and final, Tiger is dealing with a neck injury that may derail his golf career for months. He withdrew from the Players Championship in Florida over the weekend due to an injury, which one reporter mistakenly called a “bulging dicks”. Tiger held a press conference on Monday explaining his injury. He said that he’s “getting old” and his game is “not where I would like it to be. There are a lot of things going on in my life.”

You have to admire the way Elin has handled this whole thing. She’s quietly gone about her business and hasn’t said a word to the press as far as we can tell. She’s also allegedly working to ensure that her children will receive an inheritance in the event that Tiger remarries. I’m still hoping that she’ll grant at least one interview, but it might be in her best interests just to lay low, take the money and keep her divorce as press free as possible.
