Life & Style’s budget cover story this week is “Inside Shiloh’s World”. As you may have suspected, Shiloh’s “world” is completely based on a couple of eyewitness accounts of Angelina and Shiloh out and about in the south of France. To Life & Style’s credit, I’m glad they didn’t make this an In Touch Weekly-esque “Shiloh throws shoes at Angelina because Mommy won’t stop yelling at Daddy!” story. This one is more in the vein of the Enquirer’s recent story about Shiloh wanting to follow in her parents’ footsteps and become a little actress. Life & Style has Angelina describing Shiloh as “a little honey” but also fearing aloud that Shiloh will be “trouble”. Uh… dude, have they seen Empress Zahara? Now she will be trouble. Zahara’s probably already getting into crazy world-domination shenanigans:

On Aug. 28, Angelina Jolie took 3-year-old Shiloh Jolie-Pitt out for a special mommy-daughter day — like any other parent-child duo. The difference? These two popped into the town of Ajaccio on the island of Corsica just for the day! There they chowed down at La Paninoteca Cinecitta Caffe.

“They split a panini,” a witness at the restaurant tells Life & Style about Shiloh and Angie’s meal. “They were talking and seemed really happy to be out with each other.”

The duo also stopped at the market, where they picked up a poodle push toy for Shiloh, another push toy for Shiloh’s older sister, Zahara, 4, and a toy sword for her older brothers, Maddox, 8, and Pax, 5. And it’s simply all in a day’s work for this member of the self-described nomadic Jolie-Pitt clan.

But while a brief lunch in Corsica isn’t a run-of-the-mill afternoon activity for a typical American girl, Shiloh is surprisingly well-adjusted.

“She’s so full of light and love — she’s just a little honey and very, very funny,” Angelina, 34, has said. “I think I’m recognizing some of myself in that one — she’s going to be a little bit of trouble.”

I know a lot of people complain that Brad and Angelina only take the kids out one or two at a time, but I kind of like it. It shows that they’re concerned that each kid should get “alone time” with Mom and Dad, which is important. My complaint is that it seems like they split up the “alone time” by gender – Brad takes Maddox and Pax out for boys’ days while Angelina takes Zahara and Shiloh out for their girly days. Why can’t Brad take the girls out for some shopping and paninis? And why can’t Angelina take the boys out for… whatever little boys want to do. What do they like? Weaponry? Dirt? G.I. Joe? I have no idea.

When Shiloh Jolie-Pitt isn’t busy single-handedly rescuing a village of children in Nambia, it seems the three-year-old is dreaming of becoming an actress. The Enquirer is reporting that Shiloh has started telling everyone that she wants to do “what mommy and daddy do” and that Angelina and Brad are encouraging her. Shiloh’s first gig was in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, with her dad, and for now, Brad and Angelina want Shiloh to only work in their projects. They’re even considering enrolling her into a performing arts school:

[Three-year-old Shiloh] has already caught the acting bug – and has the full support of her movie star parents.

“Shiloh’s the product of the two best-looking actors in the world – she was custom-made to be in the movies,” enthused a longtime friend of the couple. “Her parents are already grooming her to be an actress. Brad and Angie were skeptical when Shiloh first started telling friends and family, ‘I want to do what mommy and daddy do.’ But they made a vow a while ago that they’d let each one of their six kids pursue their dreams and would encourage them to follow their passions.”

Asked at the LA premiere of Inglourious Basterds if they’d permit their children to follow in their footsteps as actors, Angelina promised she and Brad would “support” their youngsters’ career ambitions.

[Shiloh] made her big-screen debut in papa Pitt’s 2008 flick, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. And she’s already receiving a steady stream of movie, TV and commercial offers.

“At first, Brad and Angie laughed off the interest, but as she’s grown older, they haven’t been able to help but notice how Shi constantly poses in the mirror and puts on her own mini-plays,” said the friend.

“As a result, they’re looking into getting her an acting coach, and they’ve decided to ease her into the film world by first securing her small roles in their own pictures. They’re even batting around the idea of putting Shi in a performing arts school program.”

Although Shiloh is a natural ham, her siblings don’t yet appear to share her fascination, say sources. When Angelina was filming Salt in NY this past spring, Shiloh pestered Brad about going to the set.

“When she got her wish to see her mom work, Shiloh sat in her own director’s chair – eyes glued to all the behind-the-scenes action,” confided the friend.

Concluded the friend: “Shiloh was born to be a star, and her folks are doing their best to give her an early start on her dream.”

I wouldn’t be surprised if Shiloh ended up an actress, that’s why I believe some of this. I’ll also buy that Angelina is the kind of mother who would whole-heartedly encourage this dream – after all, Angelina’s mother did the same thing. Marcheline Bertrand enrolled Angelina in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute when Angelina was, like, nine years old or something crazy like that. As for Brad, I doubt he wants “daddy’s girl” Shiloh to jump into being some kind of crazy child actor. Although it’s said he was the one to suggest then-baby Shiloh for the small part in Benjamin Button. So maybe he would be cool with it, but only when Shiloh works with either him or Angelina. As for the other kids… well, my guess is that the rest of them are preparing for cabinet positions during Empress Zahara’s reign.

This story was too funny to pass up. Probably because I’m a little tired and punch-drunk, I keep thinking about CB’s post from yesterday, the one about Brad Pitt offering Quentin Tarantino a “slice” off of a hash brick and a coke-can bong. I keep imagining little Shiloh watching her daddy and yelling, “No, Daddy! I hate it when the nasty smoke monster comes to play. Waah!” And then Shiloh runs to Angelina, who takes out her “Keeping Brad In Line” whip and mutters to Shi, “Don’t worry, baby, Mama’s gonna take care of that nasty smoke monster.” And yes, I am referencing Lost in a Brangelina fantasy.

Anyhoodle, this story just made me think about that. Because it’s about Saint Angelina, and her holy progeny, Saint Shiloh. And before everyone jumps down my throat for saying the dreaded “saint” word – I didn’t say it first, and I have never said that about Angelina. I don’t think she’s a saint. I just think she’s a good, interesting person that is the target of some of the nastiest gossip out there. This is a fawning story from Life & Style about people referring to Angelina as a “saint”. The people are a group of kids that were helped by donations from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation to a Namibian school. Unfortunately, the tagline for this story is “Shiloh Rescued a Village of Kids!”

The children attending the Okanimekwa school in Namibia have never seen an Angelina Jolie movie or read about her and Brad Pitt in magazines.

Yet they’re certain how they feel about the star. “She’s a very special person, and we’ll never forget her,” 16-year-old student Emiliana Shikongo tells Life & Style.

“She must be a holy person,” adds another student, Andreas Kristofelius, 17. “I think Angelina Jolie must be a saint.”

The reason for their adoration? Angelina changed the lives of the 589 children at the school — along with thousands of other Namibians — after giving birth to daughter Shiloh in the African nation in 2006.

When Angie and Brad sold Shiloh’s baby pictures, they said that the proceeds, a reported $4 million, would go to help children in Africa and other parts of the world.

Well, that’s lovely. I guess that the part about the donated money is true, but I would also guess the kids were probably coached to say certain things. Or perhaps Shiloh did don a cape and run into the school to save all of those kids. Anything’s possible with that little saint.

In Touch Magazine decided to ask Jon Voight about his grandchildren. Instead of issuing a quick, polite “no comment” about the grandbabies he’s never met, Voight once again decided to give a little interview.

They asked him about Shiloh, and it seems like people keep telling him that little Shi (who turns three years old in May) looks just like her grandpa Voight. Grandpa loves when people tell him that, saying that “It makes my heart very warm to hear that.” However, doing a not-so-in-depth investigation, we can find that Shiloh looks exactly like her mother at that age. And whenever I see pictures of Shiloh, I only see Brad. Of course, I could make the argument that Angelina takes after her father (sometimes) and that there’s even a resemblance between Brad and John at times. So how many people are coming up to John Voight, telling him Shiloh looks like him?

‘It makes my heart very warm to hear that,’ he says.

The actor’s daughter Angelina Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt are parents to twins Vivienne and Knox, 9 months, Shiloh, and adopted kids Maddox, 8, Pax, 5, and Zahara, 4.

And Jon, 70, who has had a turbulent relationship with Angelina, 33, would love to babysit.

‘I haven’t done it yet,’ he tells In Touch. ‘But I keep asking.’

Angelina probably won’t let him babysit until he stops talking about her and the kids in the press. Or maybe she’s just done with her dad, especially after the latest revelations about her late mother’s back taxes and her father’s years of unpaid child support. Last summer, Angelina talked about her father in a few interviews. Trying to publicly explain what must be a difficult personal issue, Angelina said, “We are going to try to get to know each other and maybe try not to be this daddy and daughter, but to be there for each other as friends in the coming years.” Familial love means never hiring a babysitter, Angelina!

Shiloh doesn’t have enough playmates, so she had to make one up. She has an imaginary friend named Amy, whom Shiloh claims “she likes more than Knox and Viv” according to a source who supposedly spoke to Star Magazine. To be fair to Shiloh, Knox and Viv are probably still too little to really play with. And Shiloh’s big sister Zahara probably bosses Shiloh around something horrible.

When Brad was on Oprah, he told a few stories about his kids. One of those stories was about how Shiloh was obsessed with Peter Pan, and wanted to be called Peter. Has Shiloh’s little fantasy changed? Is she off Peter Pan and now only interested in “Amy”? It’s Star, so anything could be possible:

A source close to the couple says their 2-year-old daughter’s closest confidante is a made-up pal. “Shiloh says she likes Amy more than Knox and Viv,” says the source.

And at dinner time, Shiloh often announces, “Amy’s not hungry,” and pushes away her own plate!

So far, reasoning with the tot has proved useless. Two cute!

If Shiloh pushes away her own plate and says that Amy’s not hungry, maybe she wants to be called Amy. I did that when I was little too, I wanted a different name and so I would tell my parents that they should call me Diane.

It’s interesting that Shiloh has five siblings and yet she still either makes up imaginary friends or imaginary identities. She probably has a really great imagination, and may just be copying her actor parents. Fifteen years from now Shiloh will be screaming at Angelina “I learned it from watching YOU!” as she embarks on her one-woman cabaret show “Call Me Amy”.

The latest cover of OK! features a mashup photo of celebrity babies Shiloh Jolie-Pitt and Suri Cruise with the details about their supposed playdate as if it has already come to pass. According to the teaser article on OK!’s website, the playdate is just a planned one, and it may be nothing more than a “let’s do lunch” type comment between their high-powered parents. What’s more is that Zahara is of course supposedly invited too, but OK! didn’t see fit to include her in the title or cover story:

Film committments brought A-listers Katie Holmes and Angelina Jolie to NYC — but the working moms’ most important project in Manhattan is coordinating a playdate between their toddlers!

“Katie loves entertaining and spoke to Angelina about having an at-home tea party with cupcakes for the girls,” a friend of Katie’s tells OK!. “It’s something she has wanted to do for ages,” adds another source close to the actress. “Because of security reasons, Katie can’t have just any child over to her home. But with celebrity tots like Shiloh and Zahara, there’s no problem.”

Plans for their “mini-meeting” began on Jan. 11 in L.A., when Katie and her husband, Tom Cruise, chatted with Angie and her partner, Brad Pitt, at a private Golden Globes afterparty thrown by CAA at the Sunset Tower Hotel. Of course Tom, 46, and Brad, 45, are hardly strangers. The two co-starred in the 1994 vampire flick, Interview With a Vampire, but lost touch over the years.

“Since the film, their careers and social circles have become so different, they rarely see each other,” explains the source. But the two men acted like old friends that night. “Both talked at length about their children,” adds the source, “and they agreed to get their little girls together.”

There may be another reason for the playdate too. Katie desperately wants to introduce Suri to other children her age. While the toddler has adopted siblings Connor, 14, and Isabella, 16, to play with, the teens are much older. “Suri’s a very shy young lady,” a Cruise insider tells OK!. “Even when Tom or Katie have taken her to a park or beach and tried to introduce her to other kids for a little playtime, it hasn’t worked. She’s very clingy.”

“Katie told Angelina she just knew Suri and Shiloh are going to get along fantastically well,” says the insider, “and Suri is already getting into the idea.”

It’s doubtful this will ever come to pass or if their parents even had this conversation. I bet all OK! knows is that the couples were at the same place at the same time, and this imaginary playdate was born. According to this article, Zahara is of course invited too, but she’s like an afterthought to OK! You realize that it’s harder to cram three kids onto a cover, especially when you have to painstakingly use the pen tool in Photoshop to make it look like they’re at the same place at the same time, but it’s kind of rude to Princess Z not to include her.

Do these kiddie cover stories move magazines? According to Cover Awards, it’s not a “strong topic,” but the glossies keep using it for some reason.

Angelina Jolie was spotted out shopping for Easter baskets with her two older daughters, Zahara, 4, and Shiloh, who turns three on May 27. I thought these photos were so cute because both Zahara and Shiloh have their comfort items with them. They were also seen getting Easter items at an art store. Angelina told Hello! Magazine in an interview published last year that Zahara has a blankie and Shiloh has “silkies,” and it looks like that’s what they’re both carrying in some of these pictures. Here’s how Angelina described her children’s comfort items:

“Madd is interested in the military right now, so he has a lot of little army men and military planes. Pax has bits of rope – that’s his thing, for some reason – and also stuffed monkeys, which he loves. Pax packs a lot – his bags are very small, but they’re really heavy. Zizi has a blanket that was once actually pink, but now is the dirtiest shade of brown you can imagine. Shiloh has little, what she calls ‘silkies’, which are like these little square things with silk on them that are very important to her because she just has to have them… and I think that’s about it. Knox and Viv don’t have things yet because they’re too small, but I’m sure that just as soon as they’re ready for them, I’ll hear about it.”

Zahara’s blanket doesn’t look all that dirty to me so maybe she got another one or Angelina is exaggerating. These pictures are adorable and it’s so nice to see how the girls are growing up.

The family is in NY while Angelina is reportedly looking at apartments for when she needs to be in the city to film thriller Salt. They are also said to have rented a huge estate on Long Island.

Update: According to People, Angelina was “visiting an apartment building that will serve as a production location” for Salt yesterday, not looking for an apartment for her family as was previously reported.

Suri Cruise is so hot right now. At least if Forbes has anything to say about it. They put an exhaustive amount of research into their findings, studying all the hottest celeb kids under the age of five. They even employed a polling firm. Lest they be anything but totally thorough about who the most popular tot is.

Suri Cruise is the most popular kid on the playground. The 2-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes tops Forbes.com’s second annual list of “Hollywood’s 10 Hottest Tots.” Forbes.com, which ranked celebrity children 5 years old and younger based on media attention and their parents’ popularity, said Suri _ known for her stylish outfits and haircut – popped up in more news articles and blogs than her peers.

Three of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s six children made the list: Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, 2, is in second place after coming in first last year; Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 3, is in third place; and Pax Jolie-Pitt, 4, is fourth on the list. “Though not quite the tabloid stars his sisters Zahara and Shiloh are, his recognizable mug and A-list parents give him space in the top five,” said Forbes.com of Pax.

Rounding out the top 10: Sam Alexis Woods, daughter of Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin; Cruz Beckham, son of David and Victoria Beckham; Matilda Rose Ledger, daughter of Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger; David Banda, son of Madonna and Guy Ritchie; Sean Preston Federline, son of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline; and Sam Sheen, daughter of Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen.

Forbes.com looked at a year’s worth of press clippings and Web presence for more than 50 Hollywood kids. The Web site then narrowed the list, recruiting the polling firm E-Poll Market Research to get awareness scores for the children and consumer appeal rankings for their celebrity parents.

I have to say that, considering their criteria include the parents’ popularity, I’m surprised Suri did so well on the list. You’ve got to believe Tom Cruise’s popularity brought Suri’s down significantly. Imagine how hot she’d be if she had a normal dad. If she drops in position in a few years I can just see a potentially diva Suri screaming at her dad about dragging her down. Man I hope that happens.

Something tells me there is going to be a major Shiloh/Suri rivalry until the end of time. It’ll just exist in the tabloids’ imaginations, but they’re so close in age – and hotness – that they’ll be in constant competition. Who gets into the better nursery school. Gets the better score on the SATs. Who joins the better cult. It’ll be madness. Luckily the people at business magazine Forbes will probably be there the whole way, tabulating childhood hotness for us. Otherwise, they might have to talk about the stock market.

Brad Pitt, his pregnant partner Angelina Jolie and two of their four children were seen shopping at a posh children’s boutique in Cannes, France today. Brad held Shiloh, who turns two later this month, as she clutched a baby doll. Six year-old Maddox was seen looking annoyed as a saleswoman ruffled his hair.

Last week the news came out that Angelina is indeed pregnant with twins and is due August 19th. She didn’t need to tell the press anything about her pregnancy since her the costars in the animated film Kung Fu Panda were all too willing to spill the beans for her. Jack Black leaked the news that she’s pregnant with twins while Dustin Hoffman revealed her due date to a reporter.

Fox News’ Roger Friedman reported on Friday that Angelina’s is expecting girl twins and they’re probably fraternal, not identical. She is said to have told Friedman at a party that doctors showed her sonogram results with “a line” that suggests her twins are fraternal. Friedman says Jolie and Pitt will be staying at the French villa owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen until the twins are born. He also reports that Angelina said “Oh, my God… we haven’t even hired a baby nurse yet!” when he explained how much work his twin nieces were when they came home from the hospital. Friedman told her eight adults weren’t enough to care for his nieces and Pitt quipped “We’re doing it in reverse: have two adults and six kids!”

This week’s US Weekly has more information that might explain why Angelina and Brad named their latest addition “Shiloh.” Angelina used to make hotel and restaurant reservations using the alias “Shiloh Baptist.” After Shiloh was born she stopped using the name, probably because everyone would have figured out it was her at that point:

Turns out Angelina Jolie has always liked the name Shiloh. Hot Stuff has learned that the actress, 32, used to make hotel and restaurant reservations under the alias “Shiloh Baptist.” However, a source notes that Jolie retired the false moniker after her daughter’s May 2006 birth.

Angelina’s brother James Haven has said that his parents first wanted to give him the middle name Shiloh, but picked the name Haven instead. He is quoted as claiming that Brad and Angelina asked him if it would be ok if they used the name for their daughter, and that he gave them his blessing and called it an honor.

Last summer James was spotted driving an SUV with the California license plate Shhiloh, as if someone was whispering his niece’s name. The vanity plate was in a holder for the Saddleback Church from Lake Forest, California. It’s a huge Baptist church known for progressive values. Maybe James Haven really is a parishioner or he could be paying tribute to his niece along with making an in joke with his sister, considering that she supposedly called herself “Shiloh Baptist” at some point. “Shiloh” means “Messiah” or “Peaceful One” in Hebrew, along with being the site of one of the bloodiest battles of the US Civil War.

Along with the “brother’s nickname” theory, there’s also a story that Shiloh is named after her place of conception. It’s a pretty name no matter how Angelina and Brad came up with it. They manage to pick unique but not weird names for their kids, and they’ll soon have to come up with another one – or two, for their expected arrival.
