Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer take their twins out for a walk

I’m really sorry if you were hoping from the title that there would be actual pictures of the twins in here. When I saw this story this morning I got all excited hoping for twin photos, but it’s not happening. I couldn’t exactly write “the twins are covered up, don’t even bother opening this story” because that would be like a shoe salesman telling you not to try on those gorgeous stacked heels because they hurt like a mofo. (I have shoes on my mind a lot.)

Anna and Stephen went for a walk with their babies, which are around two months old, we can’t be sure, and are either two boys, two girls or a boy and a girl. That sounds ridiculous, right? Well it’s true, we have no idea what sex the babies are, when they were born exactly, or what their names are. The True Blood co-stars, who were married in August, 2010, went for a walk with their newborns on the boardwalk in Venice yesterday. If they weren’t hoping to be photographed they’re sure handling it well considering how paparazzi-shy they normally seem.

The twins are 30 year-old Anna’s first children. Stephen, 43, has a 12 year-old son and a 10 year-old daughter from two previous relationships.

Anna looks great, doesn’t she? I wonder if these two have a nanny or help at home at all. If not, they’re probably super tired. It’s frustrating writing about these two. They’re so tight with their personal life that we don’t know much about them. There may be a slight clue in some of these pics as to the gender of the babies. Commenters on US Weekly point out that one of the blankets has a pink print and one has a blue print. I took a closer look and one has a red caterpillar print and the other has bees on it, so that’s not a clue!

Stephen Moyer shows off his sympathy weight at the beach: would you hit it?

These are some new photos of Stephen Moyer (of True Blood, married to Anna Paquin) out in Venice Beach yesterday. He was with his daughter Lilac (from a previous relationship) and his mother. I’ve never really paid that much attention to Moyer’s body, but I was under the impression that he was a slender English dude for the most part. What I’m asking is… has Stephen Moyer always had a little junk in his trunk? Or is this new? Sidenote: The Mail’s headline is “True blub? Shirtless Stephen Moyer cuts a more portlier figure as he hits the beach”. So it is new.

I’m thinking that Stephen gained some sympathy weight when Anna Paquin was pregnant, and since she only gave birth about three weeks ago, he and Anna are more focused on their twins rather than getting in some gym time. Incidentally, we still don’t know the gender(s) of the twins, nor their names. Anna gave birth a few weeks earlier than her due date, but everything seems fine.

As for the eternal question, “Would I hit it?”… I would. I don’t have any problem with a dude with some extra weight. I actually prefer a dude who has a little extra cushion (for the pushin’) as opposed to some dude that seems like he needs a good meal. And I’ve always liked Stephen in general – he seems like a nice, funny guy. And God knows I love an accent. So, yes. I would it hit like a house on fire.

Anna Paquin & Stephen Moyer welcomed twins a few weeks early

I kept forgetting that Anna Paquin was pregnant, and then I completely forgot that she was expecting twins – Anna and her husband Stephen Moyer announced the bit about twins months after the initial pregnancy announcement. Well, Anna gave birth! The couple released a carefully-worded statement to People Mag so I’m not exactly sure WHEN Anna gave birth, but it was recently and it was earlier than expected – which happens often with twins and multiple births, right? I’ve always heard that women expecting more than one will often deliver weeks earlier than their due date. Anyway, twinsies!

The True Blood twins have arrived.

“We can confirm that Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer recently welcomed their twins into the world,” reps for the actors tell PEOPLE exclusively.

“The babies were born a few weeks early, but are in good health and both Mom and Dad are overjoyed.”

These are the first children together for Paquin, 30, and Moyer, 42, who were married in August 2010.

Moyer has two children — daughter Lilac, 10, and son Billy, 12 — from previous relationships.

The costars just wrapped their fifth season, with the finale of the hit HBO show airing Aug. 26.

[From People Magazine]

No names have been released yet, and we don’t even know the genders. I’m hoping for a boy and girl for them, just because that would be fun, to experience both genders at once. I’m really rooting for Anna and Stephen, and I hope they’re in it for the long haul. I also hope that Anna’s career doesn’t take a hit now that she’s a mom. To her credit, I liked that Anna wasn’t getting pap’d constantly while pregnant. She didn’t seem to have any interest in selling her pregnancy like, say, Jessica Simpson. And it would have been the easiest thing in the world for Anna to have gone that route.

Anyway, congrats to Stephen and Anna! I hope the babies are happy and healthy and everyone is doing well!

True Blood finale: awesome or what the bloody hell just happened? (spoilers)

The finale for True Blood’s fifth season aired last night. Instead of doing a full recap of this show, I’ll just give you some highlights that someone more motivated and organized than I am compiled. This show is somehow ridiculous, awesome and campy all at the same time and there’s no way I’m not tuning in next season to see what happened with crazy Bill, the evil Phoenix rising from the pool of ancient blood. A lot of vampires bit it in the finale, and enough remained to prove dangerous, particularly Bill. Bill is the new Russell Edgington, since we had the pleasure of seeing Edgington’s face melt. Other awesome deaths included Rosalyn dying after Sam shifted inside her (brilliant!) and Salome getting staked by Bill after he slipped some silver in her drink. I want to know why some vampires’ faces transform for a few seconds when they die and others just explode immediately. It seems to correspond with how central a character they are to the show.

Anyway here are some highlights from last night. We’ll have to wait until next year to see what happens, but you know Sookie isn’t going to die. “Must all roads lead to f’ing Sookie?” I’m with you, Pam.

Goodbye Awesome: R.I.P. Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare). He was the absolute coolest. Psychotic and power hungry, Russell obviously had to die, but we will miss his perfect speeches and (sometimes) irresistible Southern charm. After some fairy light rays and quick action, Eric finally got his centuries-old vengeance. Eric saves Sookie (Anna Paquin) yet again.

Father of Fairies: It was only last week that Andy (Chris Bauer) slept with Maurella (Kristina Anapau) and found out that he was going to be a father. In one of the more hilarious ridiculous scenes, Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis), Arlene (Carrie Preston) and Holly (Lauren Bowles) are all on hand to witness the miracle of life and Maurella’s interesting reaction to birthing and post-labor. Surprise! Andy has four babies and it’s the father’s job to raise them. Peace out!

Bill Is the New Lilith: Bill’s arc throughout this season has been his path to religious fanaticism. He’s slowly and methodically weeded out the competition for top dog in this nuthouse. His final action was poisoning Salome (Valentina Cervi). And if you thought Bill’s crazy death explosion was shocking, so was his ascent out of the blood pool.

Shift and Rescue Operation: Adorable puppy Emma needs some rescuing. While Sam (Sam Trammell) tries to appeal to Bill’s non-psycho side, Luna (Janina Gavankar) skinwalks into Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian). Good plan, no? No! Steve Newlin is in a bit of hot water for killing some frat boys and has to go on TV to talk himself out of trouble. Meaning Luna does. But remember this shifting into humans is bad for shifters. Season six consequences, y’all.

Rightful Place: There’s a new sheriff in town. Alcide (Joe Manganiello) finally takes his place as pack leader. He’s hot and good at making speeches—he’ll definitely do well in his new position. Presuming he doesn’t go power hungry like Bill.

Rewind Moment: After some longing looks and a little banter, Tara (Rutina Wesley) and Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) finally make out. And there was a very brief Pam and Eric reunion. Presuming everyone survives to next season, we need more of our favorite Maker-Progeny. Pam and Eric have been separated far too long this season, it makes us hurt deep in our hearts.

[From E! Online]

I agree that the makeout session between Tara and Pam was awesome, as was Jessica’s reaction: “I knew it!” I paid no attention to the werewolf subplot, and the fairy birth scene was just mildly amusing, not hilarious. I did like how the peanut gallery at Merlotte’s kind of voiced our thoughts on how ludicrous yet entertaining some of this season was, particularly when they were watching TV and witnessed Steve Newlin shift back into Luna. Lafayette said “I did not see that shift coming,” or was it “sh*t“?

Also, what the hell was going on with Jason seeing visions of his dead parents and suddenly turning against all vampires? I mean he came through when it counted, and he didn’t kill the good guys, but I feel like his character is constantly getting the shaft. He’s smarter and more aware than anyone seems to give him credit for, particularly the writers. Jason already went through all this when he rejected the Fellowship of The Sun.

Next season, I see more of a lasting romantic relationship between Sookie and Eric, and I see Bill getting deprogrammed somehow and coming to his senses. I could be wrong, he could bite it or go into hiding like Russell, only emerging at the end of the season when they need another villain. I’ve read most of the books but I’ll be damned if I can remember the plot, which isn’t a guide to the series at all anyway.

If you didn’t get enough True Blood, HBO has a bonus scene available on their website. I won’t give away any details, but I will say that I enjoyed it and am looking forward to next season.

Alex Skarsgard & Kristen Bauer on their True Blood backstory: we waited 5 years

Mild spoilers for previous and future episode of True Blood below
EW has details of the True Blood panel at Comicon, and I’ve just spent a few enjoyable minutes watching the highlights, above. EW doesn’t even do the video justice, it must have been amazing to be there. Kristen Bauer (Pam) gets chocked up when she describes how much she cares about Alex Skarsgard (Eric) and how emotional it was for her to film the scene where he released her as his progeny. (That’s at 2:30 in the video above.) Then he kisses her hair! It’s really sweet. In their interview with EW, (video is at the bottom of this page on EW) Alex talked about filming his back story with Pam, calling it “amazing,” and adding that they’ve “been waiting five years for that.” They both agreed that they wanted more details behind that story. You can tell they have a close friendship.

At about 5:30 in the video above, Ryan Kwanten (Jason) walks on his hands across the stage! It’s amazing, and I got the feeling that Joe Manganiello was wishing he’d taken his shirt off instead of just standing up and doing a little half-stripper move. You know he would have taken it all off if he thought he could get away with it. (at :30)

Anyway here are the highlights from EW, with more at the source. Again, spoilers!

On Bill and Eric’s Bromance
Moyer tells Skarsgard he looks good in his black T-shirt. (They’re playing up that bromance we’ve seen this season). “We’ve had a little too much fun together and its been four years of us fighting over Sookie. There’s like a Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid,” says Skarsgard. Moyer adds, “We have to join together so animosity aside, I felt like when we work together, there is something between us in the past that we haven’t seen yet, like an old friendship.”

Kristen Bauer (Pam) on her Walmart sweatsuit
Time to address Pam’s wardrobe! “I see a Walmart sweatsuit in the front row,” says Von Straten of a group of costumed fans. She talks about the day it was picked out for her. ”There was a rack of Walmart sweatsuits and we start with a yellow one and we say, I don’t think we have to try on anything else.” Meanwhile, Tara has discovered her boobs while stripping! Is she discovering her leathery side, too? “Pam went up to Tara and made me up,” Wesley explained. “My mother called me and said `that bustier!’ It’s been fun to have the fangs out.”

On what’s to come & the series’ future
There will be more flashbacks of the Stackhouse parents, Ball promised. “Were going to learn more about what happened to them and the affects on Sookie and Jason.” Ball confirms that there are “definitely some hot sex scenes,” coming up, “and all tastes will be satisfied.”

A fan asks whether we’ll see a faerie war in the series. “We have at least one, possibly two more seasons, um possibly three for all I know of the show going forward. I would say there probably is a chance of that,” Ball said.

On 50 Shades casting rumors
Moderator tells Skarsgard that a lot of people on Twitter want him to star in the movie version of 50 Shades of Grey. “I gotta read that. I haven’t read it.” Moyer replies, “He’s just lived the life.” Says Skarsgard, ”All I heard is he’s got a chamber in his basement.” Paquin: “You’ve got experience in that!”

Stephen Moyer thanks showrunner Alan Ball, who is stepping down after this season
Moyer ends the panel by paying tribute to Ball. ”Everytime you think you just did the most amazing scene, you get something more incredible from Alan Ball. It would be a very fitting end to this panel to thank Alan Ball for making this happen.” The crowd and the cast give Ball a standing ovation. “If I wasn’t so old and tired and so beat up I would do more seasons of this show,” Ball said. “It’s the most fun I’ve had in my career.”

[From EW]

As for where this show is now, True Blood really ramped up this season and last’s night’s episode was one of the most interesting so far. I have to say, however, that there’s very little I’m invested in beyond the plots with the vampires. Whatever is going on with Terry and the smoke monster, Alcide being pack master, the faerie land, and Jesus’ soul being trapped in the underworld is just not as exciting to me. It’s still solid TV, though. As I’ve mentioned before, there are parts of the show that I don’t pay as much attention to. The cliffhanger last night had me on the edge of my seat, and I enjoy the drama over masked bandits killing supes. I love this show and it’s so much fun for me to see the actors discuss their characters and relationships.

Here’s the trailer for Season 5. Some of these things we’ve seen happen already, but there are also spoilers – beware.

Alex is shown alone looking hot outside Comicon on 7-13-12. Photos from Comicon are from 7-14-12. Anna is getting big, and she does not look thrilled about it. Cute! Credit: Tonnessen/Steinberg, PacificCoastNews.com

Stephen Moyer on if he’d have vamp sex with Alex Skarsgard “we’d totally embrace that”

True Blood’s Stephen Moyer has a new interview in The Advocate that I enjoyed the hell out of. I have to say that I haven’t always had the highest opinion of Stephen. He seems a little prima donna-ish to me – I think it’s how he makes that sexy face on the red carpet – but I do appreciate how tight he is with his co-star, Alex Skarsgard. In this interview he seems humorous and cool. I especially like how chill he is with his gay fans, and how open he is to doing same-sex love scenes. I’m seriously fantasizing after reading this. Anyway Stephen says that he’s talked to Alex about having a hot sex scene for his character Bill, and Alex’s character, Eric, and that the dream sequence with Sookie having a threesome with them (that video is below!) was their idea! Yes. Here’s more:

The Advocate: The LGBT community has embraced True Blood from the start. Are you conscious of your own gay fans?
Stephen Moyer: I feel very at home in that world, so I’m very pleased about it, but I may come in fourth behind Joe Manganiello, Alex Skarsgård, and Ryan Kwanten, if I’m really honest. I’m a little upset. Once upon a time I was doing very well in that area, but after Alex and Joe joined the show, I naturally went down in the pecking order.

There has been criticism that True Blood has alienated some viewers because it’s become “too gay.” What’s your response?
Is there such a thing as too gay? We live in a very different world than we grew up in, so if people can’t embrace that aspect of our show, then that’s a shame. I certainly don’t think it’s specifically gay, but our show ticks a lot of boxes for a lot of people. We have an incredibly broad audience, one of the widest demographics in terms of sexuality and age groups, so obviously we’re doing something right.

You’ve gotten in on the action with a fantasy sequence involving you and Sam Trammell. Was that a challenging scene?
Not at all. We had an awful lot of fun that day, and I happen to think Sam’s a very good-looking man. We also had a lot of fun lighting the scene with our shirtless stand-ins, Nate and Lenny. [Laughs] Not that that particular scene was a challenge, but anything that seems like it could be a challenge in the script is just meat for an actor. So I looked at that scene like, Oh, my God, that’s fantastic. I can’t wait to do that!

Speaking of sexual tension, when will Bill and his adversary Eric just get it over with already and have angry vampire sex?
I’ve been asking myself that question for a long time. Alex and I would absolutely embrace that. Last year, when Sookie had her fantasy about the two of them with her, we even suggested it. Of course, Bill and Eric together isn’t necessarily Sookie’s fantasy.

Has Anna inspired you to get more involved in politics and philanthropy?
I’ve always been a flag-waving, bleeding-heart liberal. Anna and I have very similar feelings about a lot of that stuff, including LGBT causes, so we support each other in it. Being in the public eye has its benefits when you can be the face of something important and raise money for a charity that wouldn’t otherwise have had that profile.

Are you excited to see your costar Joe Manganiello in Magic Mike?
We’ve been privy to most of Joe’s performance in Magic Mike just from being on set with him. Joe is not somebody who’s afraid to take his top off or hump desks. If you went up to Joe and said, “I hear you’re playing a stripper,” he would do the dance for you then and there. He would probably do it for my dog Banjo. He has no shame.

Would you ever play a stripper?
I’m open to all offers.

Do you have a celebrity man-crush?
Yeah, but mine is totally talent-based: Philip Seymour Hoffman. With any kind of attraction for me, it ultimately comes down to what’s underneath the surface.

In the upcoming movie The Barrens, you play a man terrorized by a legendary monster called the Jersey Devil. Are you trading Sookie for Snooki?
It does sound like it could be. No, I’d be truly horrified if that came towards me.

[From The Advocate]

I guess I’m warming to Moyer. He’s very droll and funny. I’ve seen interviews with him and didn’t get his appeal, but maybe I just didn’t give him enough of a chance. Also, it really sounds like he’s dissing Joe Manganiello, doesn’t it? That guy is such a tool, I’m not surprised his coworkers don’t think much of him.

Here’s the sexy shower scene with Sam and Bill. It was a dream of Sam’s after drinking Bill’s blood.

Here’s the segment Moyer mentioned where Sookie, Bill and Eric almost have a threesome in Sooki’s dream. Sexy times FINALLY start at about 4:00. It needs less/no Sookie and more Bill and Eric making out.

Anna Paquin is expecting twins: are you surprised?

I’m honestly surprised that Anna Paquin of “True Blood” is expecting twins with her husband and co-star, Stephen Moyer. She’s young at 29, and I associate twins with fertility treatment. I know they occur naturally for a lot of women, but when you see older women having twins you make assumptions. (I mean I wouldn’t say it to anyone’s face, but I’ll admit that I do it.) Anna’s costar Sam Trammel (Sam Merlotte) confirmed the news to US Weekly, and joked that “True Blood” is the twins show, since he has has twin 10 month-old boys with his partner. This makes me wonder if Sam is the one who leaked the news (like Jack Black, remember that?) and if Anna and Stephen wanted it to get out. They granted the pregnancy announcement to Entertainment Weekly, and they strike me as private people. Here’s more:

A source confirms to Us Weekly that Anna Paquin, 29, and her husband of nearly two years, Stephen Moyer, 42, are expecting a double delivery in the fall!

“I’m so excited for them,” the couple’s costar Sam Trammell — father to 11-month-old twins Winston and Gus with girlfriend Missy Yager — shared with Us recently when we chatted with him about the double baby news at Planet Hollywood’s Gallery Nightclub in Las Vegas. “We sent them a special gift. It’s so interesting that True Blood has become, like, the ‘twins’ show.”

And though Moyer has two children, Lilac, 10, and Billy, 12, from a previous relationship, he’s been listening intently to Trammell’s advice on the ins and outs of raising multiples.

“It’s harder, having twins, but it’s all we know. So we’re trying to impart some decent wisdom,” Trammell added. “I told them to hold on tight!”

But Moyer is up for the challenge. “It’s always amazing,” he told Zap2it in May of his wife’s pregnancy. “I love my kids so much. And I think that the fact that Anna is pregnant just adds more crazy to the bundle of fun.”

[From US Weekly]

I don’t have any friends with twins and I can’t imagine how much harder it must be to raise them. Anna and Stephen can of course afford 24/7 help, although I see them as very hands-on parents also. So they’ll have a lot of sleepless nights and joyous moments. I wonder if they’re expecting boys, girls or a boy and a girl. I’m actually a little excited about it.

Mild spoilers for past episodes True Blood
As for “True Blood,” I’m barely hanging in there with that show. There are so many things going on that I just don’t care about, and I’m having trouble watching it straight through. (I watch it on HBOGo or I would just fast forward through a lot of it.) It must be hard to keep a show fresh for so many years, but if they would stick to the basics, like the vampires, I think they could do it. We just learned that the fairies are back and I have to say I didn’t miss their ridiculousness at all. I really disliked the fairy subplot. (And the werewolves, whatever is going on with Terry’s old Marine buddies, and Tara as a vampire.) But at least the witches are keeping quiet – but then Lafayette had that thing where he got possessed and poured the bleach in the gumbo. It’s making my brain hurt to think of how much is going on with that show. Lainey got a screener of the first four episodes and she said it gets more interesting this coming week. I hope she’s right, not that I’ll stop watching it. The men are so pretty.

True Blood premiere: amazing or more of the same convoluted plot lines?

True Blood Alex Skarsgard shirtless
Spoilers for past episodes of True Blood follow
The season five premiere of “True Blood” was Sunday, and I have to say I was a little disappointed. I love True Blood and I’m not going to stop watching it until it’s off the air. It remains one of the most entertaining shows on television, and the eye candy is incredible. This opening episode seemed like it took way too much time trying to remind us of every single trailing plotline in this show. Some of them I just don’t care about at all. I enjoy Terry and Arlene, for instance, but I don’t care about the drama with Terry’s marine buddies all experiencing mysterious fires. The drama in the werewolf world also seems like a throwaway plot to me, (did we need to see the wolves eat their leader? – no) but at least we didn’t have to deal with the witches or the fairies, and the yokels in Hot Shot are just a distant memory.

Also, I’m going to be frank here, I was really hoping that Tara was dead for good. (You can watch creator Alan Ball explain why they wanted to bring her back as a vampire in this “behind the scenes” video on HBO’s website. It’s all about putting her in charge instead of having her be a victim.) People has a good overview of the plot this episode, so I’ll quote their recap as it would exhaust me to do my own. (You can watch a video recap here.)

HBO’s supernatural hit returned Sunday night with its season 5 premiere, and probably the biggest question on everyone’s mind was, “Is Tara alive?”

Well to find out, fans had to wait until the end of the hour-long episode, which picked up right where season 4 left off – literally.

Keep reading if you’re not afraid of spoilers …

Debbie Pelt’s attempt to shoot Sookie failed in the season 4 finale when Tara jumped in front of the gun and took a bullet for her friend. This is where season 5 begins: As Tara lay dying in the kitchen, Pam shows up looking to apologize to her maker Eric. After Sookie and a grieving Lafayette beg Pam to make Tara into a vampire as the only way to save her, Eric’s progeny reluctantly agrees and they bury both women in the backyard.

Meanwhile, having done away with Nan Flanagan, Eric and Bill are captured with silver nets by agents of the mysterious Authority. Luckily for the vampires, their captor turns out to be Eric’s sister Nora, who’s a double agent. After having sex with her brother, Nora takes them to her allies, who provide both with new identities.

Shifter Sam has been taken by werewolf Marcus’s pack, who are looking for their leader. They’re torturing the bar owner when Alcide shows up and tells them he killed Marcus – and that he deserved it. He also has some news for Sookie: Russell Edgington is still alive.

After being glamored by Rev. Steve Newlin, who is back, gay and a vampire, Jason is saved by his new love Jessica. The two aren’t taking their relationship to the next level because she just broke up with Jason’s former best friend Hoyt, but they’re running in the same circles – and end up at a sorority party together playing drinking games.

As Sookie and Lafayette wait and watch the shallow grave, where they buried Tara and Pam, for any signs of the undead, finally Pam emerges from the ground in her dirty yellow sweatsuit. But there’s no sign of Tara until Sookie uncovers her friend who appears totally lifeless. But then Tara jumps out and bites Sookie, who suddenly has a new vampire trashing her kitchen.

[From People.com]

I didn’t see Tara bite Sookie at the end of the episode – I saw Tara lunge at Sookie, (which makes sense as Sookie is supposedly irresistible to vampires) and I assumed that Pam would jump out at the last minute and save her. During that scene I was wondering why Jessica hasn’t whoosed over to help. She’s in the mansion right near them, after all, and she has vampire super hearing.

Some of my favorite parts of this episode were the brilliant quotes from the key characters. The absolute best line was from Pam: “I am wearing a Walmart sweatshirt for ya’ll. If that’s not a demonstration of team spirit, I don’t know what is.” I also liked when Jason explained to the co-ed that he shouldn’t sleep with her, and when he told gay vampire preacher Steve Newlin that he wasn’t interested but let him down easy. Steve exclaimed “I’m a gay vampire American, and I love you Jason Stackhouse.” Jason said he was flattered but added “This dog doesn’t bark that way.” It’s the lines that keep this show interesting when the plots drag on, but that’s nothing new for True Blood.

Here are some photos of Alex Skarsgard bringing his casual hotness to the street. This man just exudes sex. There are also new photos of Joe Manganiello hosting a pool party, and you can see those here. He doesn’t do it for me, so I’m not going to include them. Alex is wearing a Sweden jersey to support his country in the European soccer championship. Unfortunately Sweden lost 2:1 to the Ukraine in yesterday’s match. They still have two more matches to redeem themselves, although they’re playing strong contenders England and France. I’ll be rooting for them and thinking of Alex. Look at these pics – his friends are hot too!

Pregnant Anna Paquin at the True Blood premiere: cute or sloppy?

I’m excited for the new season of “True Blood,” but honestly not as excited as I was last year. I think that things just got so complicated this last season that I don’t even remember a quarter of what happened. Hopefully they’ll do a decent recap ahead of each episode. (As an aside, kudos to “Game of Thrones” producers for making the recaps very clear and obvious so the plot is easier to follow. I was starting to get lost this season and they pulled me back in with easy to follow recaps.)

Spoilers for True Blood’s upcoming season
TB comes back on June 10th, and from advance details we’ve seen from trailers Russell Edgington is back! They should have shown that evil bastard the true death. I guess Erik and Bill join forces, and a new evil Vampire comes in with Christopher Meloni’s character. This should get interesting.

At the premiere last night, pregnant Anna Paquin wore Rachel Comey. I’m not a fan of the asymmetric neckline, which looks sloppy to me. Coupled with the goofy hemline, it just looks like someone cut out random shapes of striped sequin fabric and then sewed them haphazardly to some polka dot mesh. I’m surprised this isn’t Stella McCartney. It’s like someone got drunk and tried to copy Stella’s design. Anna doesn’t look pregnant from the front at all, but from the side you can see she’s showing. I have mixed feelings about Anna, and wish she would look happier on the red carpet.

Stephen’s hair looks way too dark, right?

Janina Gavankar was ridiculous in this puffy very short tin foil ice skater gown. Look at the ruffled layers on this thing. Janina plays shapeshifter Luna, Sam Merlotte’s love interest. I don’t really like her character and now that I see her taking this dress seriously my impression of her is confirmed. Check out her orange platform pumps. Hideous!

Look at Terry! Todd Lowe is really hot to me. He’s such a good actor. I’m looking forward to seeing more of him.

I also find Chris Bauer, Andy Bellefleur, oddly attractive. He plays bumbling so well, but there’s something sexy about the man. Am I alone in this?

In contrast, Joe Manganiello doesn’t do it for me at all. Check out his man scarf hanging out the bottom of his tiny vest thing. He’s superficially hot, but he seems like such a tool.

Sam Trammell is a cutie though, despite that goofy dot shirt. He needs some more scruff to complete the look, and that hairstyle isn’t doing him any favors. He and his girlfriend had twin boys last August.

Deborah Ann Woll is a great actress and seems like sweet person, but I’ve rarely seen her get her red carpet style spot on. She’s so gorgeous too.

Here’s Carrie Preston, Arlene, with her real life husband, Lost actor Michael Emerson. They’re so cute together! I love her on the show.

Nelsan Ellis, that handsome devil. He’s also an incredible actor.

Askars! Can’t wait to hear his sexy voice again.

Kristin Bauer with her squinty husband. Her character Pam is awesome, but she doesn’t look well put together here. It’s the dress in combination with that 70s hair.

And I’ll end with Tara Buck, who plays Ginger, the trashy human who guards Fangtasia during the day. This dress is awesome and hilarious. I just love it.

Is Stephen Moyer jealous of Anna Paquin & Alex Skarsgard’s sex scenes?

This week’s issue of Star ups the ante on the tabloid’s previous “entitled diva” reports concerning Stephen Moyer’s behavior on the set of “True Blood.” However, the latest rumors are getting far too personal because they concern Moyer’s jealousy of the obscenely steamy sex scenes between his real-life wife, Anna Paquin, and co-star Alexander Skarsgard. Of course, this story could be entirely made-up because it ties in so nicely with the fact that Alex recently split with girlfriend Kate Bosworth. Regardless, Star maintains that the tensions are affecting the hit HBO show (which has just been renewed for a fifth season) to such a degree that Paquin has been forced to run interference:

The steamy nude love scenes between True Blood‘s Anna Paquin and Alexander Skarsgard during the show’s fouth season have set pulses racing. But the couple’s chemistry had Stephen Moyer, their costar — and Anna’s real-life spouse — boiling! He flipped out several times, an insider tells Star, because he felt Anna was way too enthusiastic about fooling around with Alex, who is fresh off a split form Kate Bosworth.

“Anna is very secure in her sexuality,” the insider explains. “She threw herself into her love scenes with Alex, and they’re really hot. He was clearly turned on — and Stephen was not amused, to put it mildly.” Things became so tense between the show’s male leads, adds the insider, that creator Alan Ball even jokingly threatened to make them “hug it out”!

Anna, 29, was truly surprised by Stephen’s reaction, the insider says. “I think everyone was caught off guard. There has been nothing but friendship between the three of them until now, and there’s always been lots of sex on the show.”

To soothe her husband of one year, Anna began doing double duty on set. “Between scenes, she seemed to make a point of walking over to him to whisper something in his ear or grab a quick kiss,” says the insider.

Fortunately, Stephen, 41, and Alex, 34, have been able to move past the awkwardness — for the most part. “Anna is hugely relieved,” says the insider. “She says that a large part of True Blood‘s appeal to viewers is, well, the hot sex. If Stephen kept taking her scenes with Alex personally, his jealousy could take down the entire show.”

I wonder if this is true or not; but if so, Moyer’s just going to have to learn to deal with watching Skarsgard sex up his wife because, you know, it’s part of the job. Besides, it’s not like Paquin doesn’t have to deal with Moyer’s love scenes with other women on the same set as well, right? Granted, “True Blood” sex scenes are much more intense than the average television sex scene; but still, suck it up, dude.

Meanwhile, Alex was snapped looking all lanky and sultry in New York City this week. Honestly, a man should need a permit to stand like this:

And just yesterday, here Alex is on the set of his new film, What Maisie Knew, in NYC as well. Lucky Manhattan.

UPDATE: Denials from both men have already arrived! Moyer, who apparenly is not a jealous man, has already proclaimed, “Ha, ha. I have also had hot love scenes with others so it is something we have to deal with. It is part of the job so it is ok. I am actually happy that it is with Alex since I like him so much.” Alex has also chimed in with “I know he doesn’t see me as a potential threat, and it’s really not uncomfortable at all.” So yeah, this is merely more fabricated drama from Star.
