Lea Michele threw a temper tantrum before & during the Met Gala

wenn3321975

Many of you disagreed with me, but I thought Lea Michele looked nice in this red Escada gown at the Met Gala a few weeks ago. Some of you thought she looked prom-y, and yeah, you’re right. But I liked the look overall on Lea specifically. I think Lea tends to get too girly and princess-y with her style, so I liked seeing her in a relatively clean silhouette, a bold color, and styled for her features (rather than what was trendy). She was a TV Girl who looked nice, that’s what I thought. As it turns out, Lea had just come out of a massive temper tantrum when we saw her on the red carpet:

Glee’s Lea Michele may have looked like a fairy princess at the recent Met Costume Institute Gala in New York, but behind the scenes, she behaved more like a wicked witch! An insider says she was very upset before hitting the red carpet because “she didn’t want to wear anything her stylist sent her and she hated all the dresses,” which her rep denies.

Annoyed that her stylist was in LA, Lea “just kept saying that she hated everything – she was crying and having a fit!” says the insider.

“You would have thought Lea was the next Queen of England when you saw her having a royal fit,” laughs the insider.

An eye witness adds that while A-listers like Madonna and Sarah Jessica Parker stopped to talk to reporters, Lea stormed past without a word. Sounds like she could use a trip to charm school!

[From In Touch Weekly, print edition]

Well, she didn’t really “storm past” anybody because there are enough photos of her at several photo agencies that I know she posed on the red carpet for long enough. Plus, she stopped to talk to Gwyneth Paltrow, who deigned to allow Lea to see the Divine Goop nostrils from a new angle.

wenn3324934

So, do I believe this story? Meh. I mean, I don’t believe that Lea “stormed past” but I’ll buy that she had a fashion tantrum. She seems like the type. And she seems like the type to never realize at any point during the tantrum that she’s a B-lister at an A-list event. In other words, most people would be paying attention to other, more important people. That would never occur to Lea though.

Chris Brown’s West Hollywood neighbors hate him, want him out of his condo

breezy1

Chris Brown tweeted this photo a few hours ago – the Sisqo look is officially over. I have to say, I’m glad. The blonde made Chris look especially unhinged.

On Friday, Page Six reported that Chris Brown’s publicist, a woman named Tammy Brook, had dumped him as a client just days after his Good Morning America meltdown. At first, the announcement really did seem to be about a publicist realizing she could do nothing to help Chris Brown’s image, considering he’s a violent sociopath who will never change or be redeemed whatsoever. But hours after the announcement, Tammy Brook released some kind of BS statement about how she had just been hired to help Chris promote his album, and her job was now done. Sure. If you believe that, then good for you.

Although Chris’s album did go to number one, he’s still having problems, as we can see. And when Chris is having problems, we should all watch our collective asses, because the boy doesn’t function well when everyone is not kissing his ass. Radar reports this morning that Chris’s new problem is that all of his West Hollywood neighbors hate him. He’s really loud, he throws parties, and he’s disrespectful. God, I would hate to live next door to him. Can you imagine how much that would suck?

When you think of who would make the perfect neighbor, Chris Brown probably isn’t the first person that springs to mind, and residents in his swanky West Hollywood condo building can confirm, he’s far from ideal.

In fact, a source tells RadarOnline.com that the 21-year-old Forever singer is driving his neighbors nuts with his loud music, constant stream of friends visiting all hours of the night and day and his disrespectful manner.

“Chris Brown is a problematic tenant, to say the least,” the source says. “He has his posse traipsing around until the late hours of the night, he’s loud and totally disrespectful of his neighbors.

“He’s driving the other tenants in the building crazy. The vast majority of the residents are professionals and they work during the day, so it’s important to them to get some rest at night and that’s proving difficult with the noise that’s being generated. The building isn’t meant to be some kind of party house, the residents don’t want that and they don’t want to live in that kind of environment. The tenants are complaining about him and the noise he’s generating, they’ve even had to give him at least one warning. He needs to keep the volume down – people are sick of his behavior.”

Brown spent close to $1.75 million on the 3,000 square foot, three bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom penthouse condo, and only recently moved into the property.

“It’s crazy,” the source says. “He just moved in around a month ago and he’s already received a warning. The tenants are just really worried – if he’s like this straight off the bat, they wonder if it’s going to get any worse.”

[From Radar]

I wonder if there’s a condo board? Probably not, or else how would they have let Chris Brown in, right? Well, there’s not much the residents can do at this point except call the cops whenever they hear a woman screaming, or something crashing or breaking. But by then, it will probably be too late.

Chris Brown apologizes: “I just wanted to release the anger that I had inside me”

wenn3261424

Yesterday, Chris Brown made an appearance on BET’s 106 & Park, and he “apologized” for his violent freakout on GMA Tuesday morning. Chris actually went into detail about the incident, not just giving a standard-issue apology. But, like with so much about Chris, his explanation and justifications only make the situation worse. This boy is a disaster, and he obviously surrounds himself with some of the worst public relations people in the world. Here’s what he said and we’ll talk about it afterwards:

Chris Brown “apologized to anyone he startled” after he presumably broke a window ABC’s New York City studios following Tuesday’s Good Morning America appearance, in which he was agitated after ABC’s Robin Roberts questioned him about the brutal beating he laid on his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

The Forever singer, appearing on BET’s 106 & Park on Wednesday, said he “had to blow off steam and let out the anger” after the appearance, in which he wanted to promote his new album F.A.M.E. — and not dwell on past events.

“First of all, I just wanna apologize to anybody who was startled in the office, anybody who was offended or really disappointed in my actions, because I was disappointed with the way I acted,” Brown said Wednesday. “A lot of people don’t know what went down, and obviously when I do shows or when I do interviews, we always send out a talking point sheet. As the interview proceeded, it was kinda thrown off. I was thrown off by it. I felt like they told us this just so they could get us on the show so they can exploit me. So I took it very, very hard and I really kinda kept my composure throughout the whole interview, although you can see me upset, I kept my composure, I did my performance.”

Brown continued, “And when I got back [stage] I just let off steam. I didn’t physically hurt anyone, I didn’t try to hurt anyone, I just wanted to release the anger that I had inside me because I felt that I worked so hard for this music and I felt like people kept just trying to take it away from me. So yes, I got very emotional, and I wanna apologize for acting like that.”

The 21-year old singer also implored his fans not to send any negative messages to Roberts, saying, “Do not send any threats, anything like that, I’ve been hearing things on Twitter — we need to take a stand and focus on the more positive things in life.”

[From Radar]

First: he was “thrown off” because he was asked questions that his people and GMA producers had agreed on beforehand. Ridiculous. And even if Chris didn’t technically and explicitly know that he was going to be asked about the Rihanna incident, it doesn’t bode well if this is how he acts when something doesn’t go his way. He throws a violent hissy fit, a tantrum in which there is destruction of property. AT BEST.

Second: “I just wanted to release the anger that I had inside me because I felt that I worked so hard for this music and I felt like people kept just trying to take it away from me.” What’s really scary is that I believe that Chris is being 100% honest right here. This is his mindset – these are the thoughts that go through his head, these are the justifications he gives himself. He gets angry and smashes something, and we should forgive him because he didn’t hurt anyone THIS TIME. And we shouldn’t bring up the Rihanna beating ever again because it’s obvious that he’s dealt with his anger issues properly, right? Because Chris knows that when someone isn’t focusing on what he wants them to focus on – THE MUSIC – he smashes things. Like windows. Like faces. And we should forgive him because he that’s just how he “releases” his anger. It’s his process.

Also part of his process? Celebrating his great week by grinding on a stripper at his record release party. Ugh.

In case you’re feeling sick to your stomach after this story, I suggest you go here to Videogum and read their excellent open letter to ABC News/GMA. They take ABC to task for not pressing charges against Chris and for “indulging and encouraging” Chris’s behavior. It’s a great read.

Chris Brown is whiny bitch, wishes people would focus on the music

fp_7021269_brownchris_ffame_ini_09_10

Here’s what happened yesterday: Chris Brown came to the GMA studio early in the morning, and GMA producers and anchor Robin Roberts talked to Chris and his people and they got the okay to talk on camera about how Chris Brown beat the hell out of Rihanna, and everything after that. The interview – a brief affair lasting less than five minutes – went forward, and it was obvious that Chris began to tense up as Robin continued to ask questions relating to the incident. Some might even say that Chris looked like he might want to punch Robin in the face, although she’s not scared of him – she said later that she’s “pulling for the guy.” Anyhoodle, after the interview, Chris stormed off the set, started screaming at his people and the GMA people and then he smashed a chair into a window. Glass fell onto the New York street, security was called, but Chris wasn’t done. He was supposed to do one more performance, but when a producer tried to remind Chris, he faced off with the guy. At some point, Chris ripped off his shirt and left it off, walking out of the studio shirtless to the delight of the one paparazzo who snapped pics.

So… what does this all mean? Chris is still on probation for the Rihanna beat down, but there is a lot of confusion as to whether this incident will affect his probation whatsoever. Radar claims that GMA staffers didn’t get the NYPD involved, so because there was no police action, it won’t affect Chris. TMZ has a source who claims that the cops were called, but they also have a NYPD source who says that no officers were dispatched. In the chance (however small) that there was some police action, TMZ guesses at the possible charges: vandalism (for the window and the trashed dressing room) and assault on the passersby(s) on the street who might have been hit by falling glass.

Beyond the small chance, the remote possibility that there could be some longer-term repercussions for Chris, what does this incident mean? Well, it’s given him yet another forum to act like a whiny little bitch. People Magazine (celebrity bible) has an article up using quotes from a source close to Chris. The source has the same delusions as Chris, so you be the judge:

Chris Brown’s latest album F.A.M.E. may signify a new beginning for him, but the singer can’t seem to avoid questions about pleading guilty to felony assault against ex-girlfriend Rihanna almost two years ago.

Brown, 21, who lost his temper Tuesday morning after an interview on Good Morning America with Robin Roberts in which she asked about Rihanna, “is upset” by what transpired on the show, a source tells PEOPLE.

“He’s been trying to move on from his past and focus on his music, and he’s finally putting out an album,” the source says. “Why can’t we focus on that? He makes great music and he loves his fans. He’s a good kid.”

Even before the live GMA segment, another source says rehearsals were “tense,” at one point causing Brown to “flip out” even before his appearance.

But his tone shifted later, and Brown took to Twitter to talk up his album and praise his fans. “Thank you to everyone who supports my music!!!” he wrote. “Key Word (music) !!! Love y’all.”

This came in response to an outpouring of support from fans. “The media is just trying to bring you down,” one Brown devotee Tweeted. “DON’T LET THEM!!!!!”

Brown, who continued the promotional rounds and continued Tweeting on Tuesday afternoon, also received Twitter love from fellow hip-hop artists, including Diddy and Keri Hilson.

“Yall go out & get my boy @chrisbrown’s new album ‘F.A.M.E’ in stores TODAAAAY!!!” Brown’s “Superhuman” collaborator Hilson wrote. “His talent is undeniable. I’m proud of you, CB!! Love you!”

[From People]

That made me sick. “He makes great music and he loves his fans. He’s a good kid.” NO. He’s not. Good kids don’t beat the hell out of their girlfriends. Good kids don’t throw violent temper tantrums and smash windows.

At some point, however, my absolute loathing for Chris has become less about the one incident with Rihanna, and more about everything that came after: his raging ignorance, narcissism, his lack of remorse, his insensitivity, etc. Look at the characteristics of a psychopath and tell me you aren’t wondering if Chris will one day, probably very soon, kill someone. And I’m sure that when he does, it will be somebody else’s fault.

UPDATE: TMZ reports this morning that ABC isn’t pressing charges against Chris. TMZ’s NYPD sources say that because there is no “complaining victim,” there is no investigation to conduct. What the hell, ABC?

By the way, these are photos of Chris several hours after the GMA incident. Yeah, I know. He looks all broken up.

Chris Brown freaked out on Good Morning America, smashed window

wenn5624958

Oh, what a treat this morning. Not only do we have a letter from Clive Owen, we have the complete opposite of a biscuit-tingling man, Chris Brown. Chris was on Good Morning America this morning to promote his new album. He not only performed but he also was interviewed by GMA’s Robin Roberts. Robin asked Chris some questions about how he beat the crap out of Rihanna, and Chris answered those questions with grace and humility, honestly speaking about his struggle to contain his violent temper tantrums. Just kidding! He freaked out and punched a window. Seriously.

Chris Brown exploded in rage behind the scenes at “Good Morning America” this morning … smashing a window and storming out without a shirt … sources tell TMZ … and it was triggered by on-air questions about the Rihanna incident.

ABC sources tell TMZ … Brown performed and was interviewed by Robin Roberts live from the Times Square studio when she began asking about the infamous incident. Brown tried to redirect the questions to focus on his album — but Roberts continued to ask about Brown’s legal issues stemming from the Rihanna incident. We’re told after the interview, Brown freaked out, storming into his dressing room and screaming so loud, the people in hair and makeup became alarmed and called security.

We’re told Brown was out of control, and one source present tells us he smashed a window in his dressing room, and the glass shattered and some shards fell onto 43rd and Broadway. ABC security tells TMZ … the window was shattered with a chair.

We’re told by the time security rushed the area, Brown had ripped off his shirt and left the building, blowing off another performance he was supposed to do for the ABC website. And sources say … on his way out of the building, Brown confronted a segment producer, got in his face and stared him down. People from the show got in between Chris and the producer to diffuse the situation.

Remember — Brown is on probation for the felony beating and he’s required to obey all laws.

UPDATE 6:49 AM: Brown just tweeted, “I’m so over people bringing this past s**t up!!! Yet we praise Charlie sheen and other celebs for there bulls**t.”

UPDATE 6:59 AM: Brown has already deleted the previous tweet … and added a new one that reads, “All my fans!!! This album is for you and only you!!! I’m so tired of everyone else!! Honestly!! I love team breezy!!”

[From TMZ]

So basically, Chris Brown is still a violent sociopath who will freak out, violently, if something doesn’t go his way. His temper tantrums and freakouts and asinine behavior are just ridiculous. He’s a little bitch, and I hope he has to face some real consequences for his behavior. Bring it, Team Breezy.

Here’s the interview that set him off:

Chris Brown has another epic Twitter meltdown, this time with homophobia

wenn3069173

Ugh. I’m so hungover I can barely concentrate on breathing, much less this Chris Brown story, which seems incredibly and unnecessarily complicated this morning. Apparently, Chris Brown totally went off on Raz-B yesterday, on Twitter. Raz-B is a member of B2K, and has publicly spoken about being a victim of molestation at the hands of his male cousin and former manager. Apparently, Raz-B started the whole thing by tweeting something about how he didn’t understand dudes like Chris and Eric Benet disrespecting women like Halle Berry and Rihanna. Oh, and he also alluded to the rumor (that I’ve never heard before) that Chris has aboyfriend. And then Chris Brown responded on Twitter with a litany of homophobic abuse. You know, because Raz-B was molested by a man. Here’s some of the back-and-forth that went down, NSFW language:

Raz-B: @Chrisbrown Do you hit your boyfriend @andre_merritt like you do your women?

ChrisBrown: Tell me this @razb2k!! Why when the money was coming in u won’t complaining about getting butplugged! #homothug!!!

Raz-B: @chrisbrown I luv how u resort 2 disrespectful low brow tactics when u clearly sabotaged ur own career by beating women!

ChrisBrown: I’m not homophobic! He’s just disrespectful!!!

Raz-B: Ur not homophobic, ur juz homosexual on the low! RT @chrisbrown I’m not homophobic! He’s just disrespectful!!!

Chris Brown: @razb2k when I need tips on how to demolish my career I’ll call ya!!!!!

Raz-B: yo @chrisbrown i heard about all yo BoyFriends & tell yo cheerleader @1omarion 2 shut the f&#% up b4 i send J BOOG 2 f**k HIS MaMa again

ChrisBrown: @razb2k it’s funny how I’m nominated for 3 grAmmys off of a mixtape and ur scrambling for change!!

Raz-B: @chrisbrown you steady talking about your career and homothugs but you have yet to respond about your boyfriend @Andre_Merritt

ChrisBrown: @razb2k merry christmas.i just gave you 20 thousand more followers.. u shouldve did this first instead of telling the world you got raped.

ChrisBrown: @razb2k you have a lower back tattoo that says “different strokes”

Raz-B: hey followers…. i want to apologize for fostering homophobia tweets.. this has nothing to do against my followers…

Raz-B: @Chrisbrown Since you took this that far! Dude, i wasnt Raped! what a disrespect to every Kid around the world that has been Molested!!!!!

ChrisBrown: BTW… i love all my gay fans and this immature act is not targeted at you!!!! Love

Raz-B: @chrisbrown u victimize victims, ur a homophobe, ur on the down low & a woman beater. Merry Christmas & thx 4 showin every1 ur true colors

Raz-B: @chrisbrown Is this your way of coming on to me???? Dude im not Gay! i was molested! stop disrespecting the LGBT community!

Raz-B: @chrisbrown Oh yea, your Michael Jackson tribute was cool, until you made it about yourself!!!!! What a Disgrace!!!! God bless you too!

Raz-B: @chrisbrown how do u defend urself in that manner bro? I forgive u but u hve alot of pple 2 apologize to. u offended alot of abused pple

ChrisBrown: its wack as f**k that everybody can bash me… but soon as i defend myself its world war 3.I TAKE SHIT FROM everybody… its cool though..

ChrisBrown: LOVE ALL MY SUPPORTERS and people who know my heart.HOMOPHOBE?c’mon, find a better tactic.thats pure ignorance and stupidity. i love everyone

[Tweets via HuffPo]

So basically, Chris Brown is a stupid, ignorant piece of trash who will have an epic hissy fit meltdown if somebody even mentions that he mistreated Rihanna. That’s basically it, right? Also, Raz-B’s brother Ricky Romance is now threatening Chris with death (or at the very least, a severe beating). Sigh… whatever.

Ryan Seacrest threw a major tantrum when he didn’t get Larry King’s show

LOS ANGELES - AUG 21: Ryan Seacrest arrives at the 2010 Creative Primetime Emmy Awards at Nokia Theater at LA Live on August 21, 2010 in Los Angeles, CA Photo via Newscom

A few weeks ago, CNN announced that whenever Larry King retires (when hell freezes over, probably), his seat and 9 p.m. timeslot will go to Piers Morgan, British bon vivant. It was kind of a smart, safe choice – Piers doesn’t really incite controversy from what I’ve seen, and I guess he’s a decent interviewer. Why not? Well, it looks like the dude everyone hoped would NOT get the gig is very, very upset. That’s right, Ryan Seacrest is in meltdown mode:

Ryan Seacrest is fuming over losing out to Piers Morgan as Larry King’s successor – Ryan dreams of moving into the coveted chair were dashed when Piers was announced.

“Ryan is livid – he was counting on the King job,” said a source. “He thought he had a lock on it.”

According to the source, Ryan was sure that Piers was not a serious contender for the job. He thought Anderson cooper and Katie Couris were the real threats – “Ryan was stunned when Piers got the job…. Ryan would have given up a lot to take over Larry’s seat.”

And when he learned he didn’t get the job, the source said Ryan flew off the handle, complaining: “That job was mine! Mine! It was promised to me! Larry told me many times that I was the only one for the gig!”

Sore loser Ryan told the source: Piers may be well-knows in England, but he’s a nobody here in the U.S. I can’t believe CNN made that move.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition]

Oooh, I can totally see this, all of it. Ryan throwing a hissy fit after spending so much time plotting away for the gig, only to have his hopes dashed. Personally, I’m thrilled that CNN isn’t enamored with La Seacrest, because that boy is a major bitch. He’s unprofessional and rude, and he has a really snide, narcissistic streak. I know he wants to be the next Dick Clark, but he’s never going to get there. Dick Clark was and is a gentleman, and a very lovely presence. La Seacrest makes my ass itch.

Also: does anyone else think that La Seacrest’s “relationship” with Julianne Hough was all part of his campaign to get Larry’s seat. Now he has no idea what to do with his extra beard. She’s outlived her usefulness. Get him Rachel Bilson!

Patti Stanger caught on tape throwing a temper tantrum at her stylist

wenn2368553

I saw this yesterday, but I kind of thought it was a “meh” story. I mean, who amongst us thought that Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger was the kind of woman who wouldn’t shank a bitch over a v-neck? Anyway, TMZ got their hands on a very poor-quality recording of Patti reading the riot act to her poor stylist. I think the whole thing is about how the stylist – Lauren Solomon – didn’t “bring it” for Patti’s photo shoot for Elle Magazine’s September issue, or an appearance on with an Elle editor. Or something. I can’t find any copy of the audio that we can embed, but if you want to hear Patti’s spectacular sh-t fit, go to TMZ. Here are some of the highlights:

Patti: “Get your f-cking feelings out of this f-cking room or you’re never going to be a stylist. This is your moment of me saying your name on the air. Nobody has ever done that for you.”

Patti: “Why would you have me in f-cking random clothes? This is Elle f-cking magazine! This is the big one! You want to fatten me up,” the reality star allegedly yelled.

Patti: “I want you to understand what you did wrong! Count the f-cking measurement to my f-cking knee! You have to learn these techniques. I can’t do this for you. It’s like when I’m matchmaking somebody – I know exactly what they want!…I don’t wear V-necks because of my boobs!”

I mean… yes, Patti should keep her temper in check, but since I watch The Millionaire Matchmaker, I’ve already seen Patti lose her sh-t before, and I have to say, she usually loses it with good reason. Even though I think her tone is disrespectful, unprofessional and rude, I think her point probably still stands: her stylist wasn’t doing her job, and Patti was pissed. People are already calling this “Christian Bale-esque” (NSFW audio here) but I’m not really seeing it. Patti wasn’t threatening her stylist with bodily harm. Patti was just bitching a woman out for not doing her job correctly.

Also – I want to know what “I don’t wear V-necks because of my boobs” is all about. Patti has great boobs, and as a fellow boobtastic girl, I have to say, I prefer V-necks to crewnecks, even if that means some cleavage. I think V-necks compliment my face more.

M.I.A. throws a tantrum, tweets NYT reporter’s phone number

mia1

So M.I.A. is still giving crazy interviews. And when reporters simply transcribe the crazy, M.I.A. throws a childish tantrum and tweets their actual phone number. Case in point: M.I.A. was interviewed by Lynn Hirschberg for the New York Times in a piece calling “M.I.A.’s Agitprop Pop”. Clever. Anyway, there’s a lot of politics in the interview, as there was in her recent Complex Magazine interview. M.I.A. drops lines like, “And my giving birth is nothing when I think about all the people in Sri Lanka that have to give birth in a concentration camp.” She also says that the Los Angeles Sinhalese community was harassing her after she began to speak out on Sri Lankan issues, saying, “We went to the Grammys, we had the baby and we bought the house… A month later, all this stuff was happening in Sri Lanka… and I started speaking up against it. And then, within a month, I found out my house was being bugged, my phones were being tapped and my e-mails were being hacked into. I was getting death threats, like ‘hope your baby dies.’ The biggest Sinhalese community is in Santa Monica, people who are sworn enemies of the Tamils, which is me.”

There’s more stuff in the piece, but suffice to say, M.I.A. did not appreciate being quoted, I suppose. So she tweeted Hirschberg’s phone number (which I’m not going to print) with the message “CALL ME IF YOU WANNA TALK TO ME ABOUT THE NYT TRUTH ISSUE, ill be taking calls all days bitches.” As Gawker notes, “The poor writer is probably being besieged by confused fauxhemians right now and will have to screen her calls for months or change her number. It would be really awesome if Hirschberg retaliated by Tweeting M.I.A.’s number, but we have a feeling that there are still people out there with some tact.

By the way, would anyone like another taste of M.I.A.’s crazy? From her Complex Mag interview (the one where she kind of says Jay-Z is a sell-out)… here is M.I.A.’s thoughts on Google:

“Google is the most powerful corporation in the world, and why do you think that is? It’s ’cause they log the most data and they collect the most information and that’s the thing that everyone’s gonna want and that’s the thing that no one’s gonna have. That’s what it’s about and it’s important to tell people in the street or poor people to arm themselves with knowledge ’cause that sh-t’s a commodity… America’s not raising its generations saying, “Knowledge is currency.” Corporations are raising themselves saying, “Knowledge is currency, and we’re gonna collect it all.” And the people are not being told that. Do you get that from watching My Super Sweet 16 or reality TV, that they’re trying to tell the masses that it’s about knowledge? No. You can Google the words “Sri Lanka” and it doesn’t come up that all these people have been murdered or bombed, it’s pages of: “Come to Sri Lanka on vacation, there are beautiful beaches.” You’re not gonna get the truth ’til you hit like page 56, you know what I mean? When Ikhyd goes on the Internet and taps in some words, he’s gonna get exactly what they want him to get.”

I know what point she’s trying to make – about media and corporations and who controls the news, et cetera. And Google does do some sketchy sh-t (and I say that knowing that we have Google ads – MY BAD GOOGLE GODS). But to call Google “the most powerful corporation in the world”? How limited is her scope? That’s kind of the point of the NYT piece too – Hirschberg quotes Ahilan Kadirgamar, the spokesperson for the Sri Lanka Democracy Forum, at length and his point seems to be overwhelmingly that M.I.A. is out-of-touch and lacking in a wide-ranging comprehension of the vastness of Sri Lankan politics specifically and international politics in general. At one point he says: “People in exile tend to be more nationalistic… And Maya took a very simplistic explanation of the problems between Sri Lanka’s Sinhalese government and the Tamils. It’s very unfair when you condemn one side of this conflict. The Tigers were killing people, and the government was killing people. It was a brutal war, and M.I.A. had a role in putting the Tigers on the map. She doesn’t seem to know the complexity of what these groups do.” Probably because at this point, she’s just the wife/fiancee of a billionaire’s son who spends her days drinking wine with reporters from the New York Times?

Chris Brown throws a tantrum during radio interview
R&B bad boy Chris Brown shows off his spindly ankles as he leaves the Staples Centre after the Lakers game

We haven’t been hearing all that much from Chris Brown as of late. He’s been doing his community service, he’s been defending Tiger Woods, and he’s been trying to get people to listen to his music. That last activity is probably the funniest, because it seems that Chris’s new-ish album (he released it several months ago) pretty much sank without a trace. Chris doesn’t know how to handle himself when no one gives a sh-t about him. He’s already begged his fans for more support. And now he’s being an asshat to some deejay who just trying to interview him.

Chris called in to Q94 in Virginia yesterday, and when the deejay was trying to help Chris promote his concert – to benefit Haiti – Chris laid into the deejay for not playing his songs:

Chris Brown: “I Love You” that’s rocking right now.
DJ Kash: Oh with Ester Dean?
Chris Brown: Yeah with Ester Dean. S**t rocks.
DJ Kash: Word? I was actually thinking about making that my pick of the day.
Chris Brown: Yeah but what I’m saying is y’all don’t play my s**t.
DJ Kash: Yeah we do, but that’s just not even impacting on the charts. Is it even anywhere on the charts?
Chris Brown: Yeah.
DJ Kash: What number is it at?
Chris Brown: What number is it at? It don’t matter though so…why am I even doing this interview? F**k it I ain’t doing this s**t.
[Chris hangs up.]

I love that the deejay was all “What number is it at [bitch]?” I used to work at a radio station, and while many deejays do get to show their musical preferences partially, for the majority of their time, they are obligated to play the mandatory “top songs/albums” playlist. Unless of course it’s a classic rock station or something. So, more likely than not, the deejay couldn’t play Chris’s album because it wasn’t on the “playlist”. But I digress. Bark Bite Blog summed up Chris’s problem: “His sense of entitlement is suffocating. It’s incredible that despite all of the hurdles Chris has faced after his felony conviction, his ego maintains its gargantuan size. Radio doesn’t OWE him support, he has to earn it. And cursing out a DJ isn’t gonna get him more spins on anyone’s station. His poor record label, JIVE, had to call afterward to apologize for Chris’ toddler-like temper tantrum to boot. If Chris wants to be treated like an adult, he needs to act like one.”

Thanks to LaineyGossip for the heads up!
