Paris’ rep says she’s not on myspace, but that’s just not true

Maybe a Paris Hilton myspace impersonator blogged on myspace about Britney’s “partying ethics,” but her hardworking spindoctor Elliott Mintz gets it only half right when he says that she didn’t write that message urging us to go easy on the single mom. He says she’s not on myspace, but considering all the evidence we found to the contrary, that’s just not true.

News reports from several “reputable” sources have been reporting that Paris Hilton was using her MySpace blog to defend Britney Spears. In the fake blog, the “heiress” states that Brit is a great mom who is always there for her children, and that Britney’s partying is just the normal behavior for a 25-year-old.

While these are thoughts that could possibly be in Hilton’s head, only Miss Hilton knows for sure. TMZ contacted Paris’ rep, Elliot Mintz, who revealed that “Paris did not write it. She does not have a MySpace account.”

That may not be Paris’ myspace that issued the message urging us to go easy on Brit, but a different myspace personality that we presumed to be Paris said that Elliot tried to ground her from the popular online community once news got out how easy it was to hack. We were hacking into myspace at that point to read her comments. Here’s what she said in a comment on Hillary Duff’s supposed myspace on October 17th when news got out about the hack:

lmao elliot is screaming at me lmao hie MADDDDD BADDDDD and UGLYYYY lmao

Someone we assumed to be Paris also commented on Nicole Richie’s supposed myspace and was using the name “Grounded even longer now.No phone forever or comp.” at the time.

We make no claims that these myspace comments are authentic, but they look real to us. Here is a screenshot of the comments mentioned. I saved caches of almost all the supposed celebrity myspace comments I could find during the security hole, which has since been fixed.

I swear that these screenshots have not been altered and were just cut and resized to fit here. They may look a little suspect, and it’s possible they’re not Paris at all, but this is what I found during the brief window when myspace was vulnerable to a pretty basic hack.

Please don’t let Celebitchy or Agent Bedhead be last in the Weblog Awards

Agent Bedhead is my BFF blogging friend, and they nominated me for a Weblog Award. We’re a top ten finalist, but are now last in the poll – behind Agent Bedhead. We don’t want them to be last either though, so we’ll ask you to vote for one of us.

It’s a minor letdown to be last, but it’s an honor to be nominated since the site is kinda new considering that I started it back in February of this year. Celebitchy is also up against bloggers who are more prolific and popular.

If you could head over to The Weblog Awards and vote we would appreciate it. You can vote once a day from every computer you own. Yes, this is allowed in the rules and all. Vote for us, or if you like another blog better that’s cool too. We don’t expect to win, we just want some more vote love.

The polls are closing at noon on Friday EST.

Texas college student supposedly behind Vince and Jen split (update)

Star magazine claims that not only were Vince and Jen still together up until Thanksgiving, but that Vince cheated on Jen with a 20 year-old Texas college student he met a Budapest restaurant. I know it sounds weird, but go with it – Star even has evidence of an edited blog entry and an supposed e-mail this woman wrote her friends bragging about how she bagged Vaughn.

Star says that they told Jen’s reps this story was about to come out, and that’s when they announced the split. That doesn’t convince me that they were still together, just that Vince got with a college chick:

Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn had not split up before Thanksgiving. In fact, the former Friend tried to convince her on-again, off-again boyfriend to make the 12-hour flight from London (where he’s been filming the comedy Fred Claus) to L.A., to join Jen for the holiday. When he turned her down, she ended up alone joining best friend Courteney Cox-Arquette and hubby David Arquette.

As for Vince, he hopped a three-and-a-half-hour flight to Budapest. On Nov. 25, while dining in a local restaurant with two pals, Vince befriended three female students at a nearby table — including Laura Mallory Lane, 20, a junior at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, who was on holiday while studying abroad in Rome.

HOTEL-BOUND
The group proceeded to have a cocktail-fueled evening that ended with Vaughn and Lane (who goes by her middle name of Mallory) in bed together — all of it documented in an e-mail entitled, “I shacked with Vince Vaughn” that Lane sent to 22 of her Gamma sorority sisters two days later, says a source!

When the bars had closed at 2 a.m., Mallory wrote that the group ventured back to Vaughn’s hotel and Vaughn asked her to stay for another drink — which she did. “I did not feel pressured at all,” Mallory wrote.

“We talked some more (and yes, we talked about Jen), and one thing led to another and obviously we were messing around before too long. We didn’t have sex, but it was just as good :) …”

Nevertheless, it wasn’t a good thing for Jen. Star alerted Jen’s reps to our story and lo and behold the couple announced their final breakup!

I tried to google specific phrases in that woman’s blog post, and I looked for her blog using different keywords in her name and location and couldn’t find anything. It’s possible she took it down or it’s just too hard to locate. (Update: reader Jess has better google skills, here’s her blog.)

This e-mail is also kind of hackneyed and suspect. Ooh, they hung out all night and made out but didn’t have sex. Isn’t that a cliche? I mean, I know I had a few of those encounters in college but it doesn’t sound really legitimate to me.

Here’s the blog entry. All of these images are from Star and I cannot find the actual blog here’s a link to her blog
12/4 original entry mentioning Vaughn:

12/6 edited entry deleting Vaughn. It seems a little strange that there’s a double line break where that text would be, but she could have put it in there when she erased the other text:

So either:
1. This story is bogus, there is no college woman and someone made this up to make it seem like Vince and Jen were still together and to make Vince look bad
2. Vince and Jen were really together and keeping under the radar and he did cheat OR
3. Vince and Jen were not together for months as everyone suspected and Vince just hooked up with this random chick with a big mouth.

I’m voting for 3.

Update: Thanks to reader Jess’ excellent googling, we have a link to the blog in question. Here’s the post from this Monday where she deleted the line about Vince, and there is one newer post with a cute picture of her posing with her friends in Prague. (I was only there once, it was beautiful.) There are currently four comments on the Vince Vaughn post asking about her encounter with him. I’m betting she’ll take the blog down within a few days.

Myspace comments suggest that Paris and Lohan were lovers

Yesterday I ran a blind item from a questionable “lawyer’s” blog that claims that Lohan and Paris were once lovers and that’s why they’re fighting in public so much. Remember that myspace hack that allowed people to view comments on private profiles for a window of a few days last month? I saved most everything locally, and thanks to commentor Vix for reminding me that the person presumed to be Paris left a comment joking about a rendevous on what was thought to be Lindsay’s myspace.

In fact, the person said to be Paris was using a myspace icon with a picture of Paris and Lindsay together. Here’s what “BabyTink2″ said on October 17th:

its so sad our secret rendezvous at sky villa saturday is out i think we managed to keep it well hidden considering its now tuesday and its just starting to come out now we gettin good at hiding our love for each other bitch

She also joked around in Lindsay’s myspace comment section about needles and withdrawl, with someone who might have been Hilary Duff making a joke about Strawberry Nesquick:

BabyTink2 [maybe Paris] Oct 17, 2006 4:39 PM

will you hurry up with that needle bitch im gettin withdrawal symptoms lmao

fabulous [maybe Hilary Duff] Oct 17, 2006 4:36 PM

strawberry or banana and paris needs her needles back lmao

[I make no claims that these are actual comments by the people in question, so take it for what it is.]

Regardless of whether Paris and Lindsay were getting it on, they seem to have been good friends at that time since maybe-Paris was using an icon of the two of them together. Something happened that prompted their feud.

Michelle Williams has all her fansites shut down

Michelle Williams, the surly chick who had Heath Ledger’s emo baby and used to be in Dawson’s Creek, not the Michelle Williams from Destiny’s Child, had all her fan websites, bulletin boards and forums shut down. Apparently she and her people just don’t get the Internet. Or maybe they do and they think they can control it:

I learn[ed] that Michelle William went into a crusade to shut down her MediaBlvd forum and it looks like it worked. Her forum on MB is closed now. This is the message that appears:

Quote:This forum has been closed for legal reasons. We would ask that our registered users refrain from mentioning Ms. William’s name and do not link to any images that include Ms. Williams in any of the MediaBlvd Community forums or websites, in anyway. This would include avatars, signatures, etc, or any other method of including an image.

And even her center, which would be the equivalent of Katie Holmes Pictures, is also closed.
www.thewilliamscenter.com

Quote:CLOSED
Other Michelle Williams fan-sites rejoice!

The Michelle fan-site Monopoly is now over. The Williams Center–the longest running Michelle Williams fan-site on the net, with the most respect for her is now closed. We met a lot of nice people–and we are thankful to everyone for their help over the years. When the site was created, we were all 7 years younger. It’s time we move on.

If you still need a Michelle fix, there’s one other great fan-site out there for her that if you search for it on google, you’ll have no trouble finding.

Inquiries about having our old content/why the site closed may not be answered because we just deleted everything and our reasons are private. We never thought it would turn into what it did. It was a dream come true for awhile there. And it couldn’t have happened without you, the visitor…we’ll never forget ya.

Michelle Williams must not want any fans. It looks like her wishes are about to come true.

Myspace security hole exposes private comments by Lindsay, Paris, etc.

There’s this huge security flaw in myspace that lets you read comments on private profiles, and I’ve pretty much read all the crap that Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Hillary Duff, and Nicole Richie are saying to each other. Paris got told by her PR guy Elliott to cut it out and she was supposedly grounded from using the computer, but of course she didn’t comply and continued commenting.

This was up on Oh No They Didn’t and got a brief mention in The NY Daily News, but the ONTD post is private now and I learned about it through a friend’s e-mail.

The thing is, there’s a formula to it and it really doesn’t matter if someone changes their profile name or password. Once you know their numeric user ID it’s incredibly simple to do, and as long as they keep commenting it’s easy to find out their numeric user ID.

They seem to realize that people are reading their comments and are talking about all the new people asking to be added as friends, but they don’t really get the fact that changing their passwords and screen names doesn’t fix the problem.

I was really reluctant to report on this at first as 1) there’s way too much information to sift through and report 2) it feels wrong and 3) I don’t want to get sued. Plus I got sucked into the voyeuristic aspect of it and I wanted to be able to keep spying.

Best Week Ever has the links, though. I know this is Monday’s news but somehow it fell under my radar.

The juiciest news: Lindsay, Hilary, and Paris talk about doing banana and strawberry “Nesquick” and returning “needles” to each other. They could just be joking around. They’re also all friends with Jesse McCartney, and he could be screwing Lindsay, because he says:

Woww last night=amazing.
I see how you cant have your husband on your top 8

But it’s just as likely that they’re joking around, and of course there’s no way to verify that it’s really Lindsay, Paris et. al, but I believe.

Paris also tells Lindsay:

its so sad our secret rendezvous at sky villa saturday is out i think we managed to keep it well hidden considering its now tuesday and its just starting to come out now we gettin good at hiding our love for each other bitch

And it looks like Paris is BFF with Lindsay again because she’s using an icon of the two of them together.

Here’s my favorite comment, from Haylie Duff to Jesse McCartney:

ah the usual, but what about you, anything new ..

oh how’s J.Lo? lmao. j/k

If you have any kind of logic skills you’ll quickly be able to figure out how to view anyone’s private comments using the links from the Best Week Ever post above.

Myspace will undoubtedly fix this soon, and it’s a huge security flaw. According to myspace’s user agreement everything on the site legally belongs to them, so I don’t know if any celebrity lawyers can sue for reposting information found on myspace, but if it gets widely distributed like Paris’ hacked Blackberry they’re sure to try.

Meet the two hottest geeks on the planet – YouTube founders cash in

A few weeks ago, YouTube founders said they wouldn’t take less than $1.5 billion to sell the company. We thought that was a BS number and that they just didn’t want to part with their baby.

Google ended up paying $1.65 billion for it, with that insane amount of cash supposedly justified by YouTube’s exclusive distribution rights with television and music companies. The two elated YouTube founders, Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, recorded this off the cuff video outside a San Bruno TGI Friday’s.

User-populated YouTube is still having copyright issues with legally restricted content, and it’s unknown if Google will make people subscribe or if they’ll flood the videos with ads. It seems like YouTube is in good hands, though, as behemoth Google has a great reputation and already has relationships with many of the companies claiming copyright infringement against YouTube.

This news makes me nostalgic for the good old days when I could quit a job out of boredom and get several new offers within a week. Paper millionaires were abound, and wide-eyed freaks called themselves evangelists while using bullshit words like “synergistic” and “mindshare.” Sadly, nearly every place I worked, especially the ones with the Aeron chairs, coffee bars and foosball tables, went out of business.

Hurley and Chen are now hot properties, and it wouldn’t be surprising if they start showing up at events with a famous model or actress in tow.
