Reality star and prolific Twitterer Tila Tequila, 27, was involved an altercation with what some outlets are reporting was/is her boyfriend, San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman, 25, late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. Tila was at a club in San Diego Saturday night partying with Merriman. There are photos of Tila dancing seductively on Merriman’s lap at the club, and TMZ reports that she “was seen giving Shawne lap dances all night long.” Tila went back to Shawne’s place and ended up calling the cops early in the morning, saying that he had choked her and was restraining her to keep her from leaving. She then signed a citizen’s arrest warrant that charged Merriman with battery and false imprisonment. (I thought people only did citizen’s arrests when the cops weren’t around, but apparently they can do this in CA if they’re a witness to a felony. It varies by state. Here is Wikipedia’s explanation of a citizen’s arrest.) Tila also went to the hospital at her own request and was treated and released. Merriman was arrest and placed in jail at 8:30 am, where he was held until 11:00 am. He claims through a lawyer that he didn’t choke Tila and was just trying to help her get home safely. Merriman’s side of the story is that Tila was really drunk and he was just trying to secure alternate transportaion for her so she wouldn’t drive home in that condition.

San Diego Chargers star outside linebacker Shawne Merriman was arrested Sunday and accused of choking and restraining his girlfriend, reality TV star Tila Tequila, as she tried to leave his suburban home.

Sheriff’s deputies got the call at 3:45 a.m. on Sunday from a woman who claimed to have been choked and thrown to the ground by the player at his home on Sagecrest Drive in Poway.

“Nguyen told deputies she had been choked and physically restrained by Merriman when she attempted to leave his residence,” San Diego County Sheriff’s spokesperson Jan Caldwell said.

Tequila, 27, signed a citizen’s arrest warrant, charging Merriman with battery and false imprisonment, San Diego County Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Steadman said.

Merriman, 25, was taken into custody and booked into the central jail at about 8:30 a.m. He was released shortly after 11 a.m. Caldwell said she didn’t know if he posted bail or was released on his own recognizance.

The linebacker’s lawyer talked briefly with reporters outside the San Diego County Jail downtown Sunday. He denied the allegations and claimed that Merriman and Nguyen were at a party at his Poway home with at least 14 other people.

“During the evening Ms. Tequila was extremely intoxicated, inebriated and Mr. Merriman did everything he could to assist her in arranging for transportation to leave his home. At no time did Mr. Merriman assault her; at no time did Mr. Merriman keep her against her will. His intentions were nothing but good,” Merriman’s attorney Todd Macaluso said.

Tequila requested an ambulance and was transported to Pomerado Hospital. She has since been released.

Caldwell said Sunday that deputies confirmed that Tequila had been drinking.

Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, is best known for “A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila,” which ran for two seasons on MTV. The bisexual dating show featured men and women vying for Tequila’s affections. She has also modeled for Playboy and other men’s magazines.

Scott E. Leemon, an attorney for Tequila, said in a statement that neither she nor her representatives would comment publicly on the incident.

Note in that source article, above, that Tila’s lawyer says neither his client nor he would be publicly commenting. Of course Tila had to say something about it on Twitter, though, and she defends herself by citing her height/weight/belief in God. I’m not saying she’s not telling the truth, it’s hard to tell at this point, but she’s certainly not keeping quiet about it as her lawyer said she would. Tila’s tweets are technically “protected,” but she has nearly a quarter of a million followers and it’s easy to find her status updates on outside websites like CelebrityTweet.com. Yeah, Tila, we get it. It had to have gone down the way you’re claiming because you don’t drink and you’re very little. How come the cops are saying on the record that you were drunk, then? This woman could be telling the entire truth and she may have been victimized by this guy. But she should have taken her lawyer’s advice and shut up about it. As it is, she sounds defensive and that’s not helping her case. We’ll have to see what happens in court and if this goes any further.

Update: TMZ has Shawne Merriman’s full statement on the night in question. It’s very professional, to-the-point, and convincing. Tila was examined and released and no charges have been filed against him. He says, in part. “I in no way caused any harm to Ms. Nguyen, however, paramedics were called and she was examined but no injuries were reported. She was released and has since returned to Los Angeles, California…. There have been no charges filed against me.”

A few weeks ago, prolific self-promoting Twitterer Tila Tequila tweeted that she was sick and throwing up repeatedly, and then posted that “I’m gonna tell y’all something REAL FAST, and then delete it, ok? Since nobody is awake… reason why I’ve been feeling sick on and off lately is because yes, I am pregnant!”

The thing is, you can never delete a tweet because they still show up in searches, sometimes for weeks, and there are websites that archive them. Just go to Tweleted and plug in Tila Tequila’s Twitter username, officialTila. She’s deleted so many tweets that the one about being pregnant has been pushed off the list by more recent deletions. She did make reference to being pregnant in a now-deleted tweet on June 3: “I know, ya’ll just can’t keep up with my love life huh? 1st pregnant, then all these men(supposedly), now my girlfriend…keep up! LOL”

Now we can all breathe a sigh of relief that the clueless woman who starred in the first bisexual dating show is not going to have a baby. Tila recently posted on her MySpace blog that she is “not currently pregnant” without denying that she used to be:

Tila also posted a video in which she told us to “look up the word ‘hearsay’ in the dictionary and compared the speculation about her pregnancy to the game “telephone.” Only in this case, Tila is the one who first broke the news to the public. She sort-of acknowledges this, saying “you start to lose actual truth behind a small little message and everyone gets it all misconstrued.”

She also seems to explain that the pregnancy story was planned for publicity. “Everything is also very well orchestrated, and I’m having a lot of fun…. I don’t really care about those false rumors. It’s all orchestrated.” So is someone coaching Tila to tweet that she’s pregnant or is someone else posting those Twitter messages on her behalf? I was ready to believe that she was really pregnant at one point when I read this story on People and just saw what she wrote, but after watching the video I’m pretty sure either someone else is running her Twitter account or is telling her to start rumors so that she’ll get more press. It worked this one time and she got some coverage but she ended up looking like even more of a tool than she did before. She’s going to have to think of other stunts to pull or she’ll just be the starlet who cried wolf baby.

The blog Young Black and Fabulous is reporting that Tila Tequila wrote on her official Twitter that she’s pregnant. The father (they think) is her current boyfriend, rapper Ray J. Apparently Courtenay Semel now has the illustrious title of being the ex of both Lindsay Lohan and Tila Tequila. The tweet, posted late at night, announced that her on-and-off sickness has been due to the fact that she’s knocked up.

“Before I bounce, and since it’s late… I’m gonna tell y’all something REAL FAST, and then delete it, ok?

While Ray J and Tila have been gallavanting about, he’s supposed to be dating the For the Love of Ray J winner, Cocktail. But we all know how long-lasting those reality TV relationships are. Look at Tila – after the first season of A Shot at Love: she was accused by the winner of the show of having a long-term boyfriend all through filming. He claimed that he tried contacting her and was shut down; her official statement was that they didn’t have enough time for each other.

Whatever, Tila. All I know is that having a mother who curses like that in a public forum is priceless, and that Tila’s baby is going to need some serious counseling when he/she grows up.

Nicole Richie got fed up with reality sleaze Tila Tequila flirting with her boyfriend, Joel Madden, at a recent party. According to the latest issue of the National Enquirer, Nicole screamed in Tila’s face to “back off” when she didn’t take a hint and kept bugging Joel:

Pregnant Nicole Richie lashed out at MTV’s Tila “Tequila” Nguyen at an Oscar-night party when the sexy reality TV star seemed to make a play for Nic’s baby daddy, Joel Madden.

Nicole and Joel were celebrating the news that Nicole is expecting the couple’s second child at a party at the Hollywood Hills on Feb 22 when Tila showed up.

“As soon as Tila saw Joel, she ran up to him and started acting super flirty – grabbing and hugging him,” an eyewitness told the Enquirer.

“Nicole had her back turned, but when she realized that Tila was all over him, she ran up and yelled, ‘Joel… JOEL!!’

“When he didn’t respond right away, Nicole pulled Joel away to their table.”

But Tila wasn’t about to give up – and she tried approaching Joel a second time.

There are some celebrities that just seem born to adopt kids, Brangelina being the best example. Then there are others that somehow manage to make it seem wrong – Madonna’s whole debacle with adopting son David comes to mind. And some women just seem more motherly than others, though that doesn’t mean they can’t be great moms.

But the latest sorta-celeb to jump on the adoption train doesn’t only not seem motherly, she seems like the kind of person who’d leave the kid in the bath for a few hours while she went out for some shopping and drunken bisexual kissing competitions. That’s right, none other than ferret-esq Tila Tequila wants to adopt – after making a billion dollars and ridding the world of small dogs.

“I definitely want to adopt a boy,” the reality star told Usmagazine.com at a book signing for Hooking Up With Tila Tequila in NYC on Monday.

“Sometimes I think, like, let’s just run away from Hollywood and adopt a son, and do my own thing,” she said. “But then I realize, you know what? I want to make at least another billion dollars before I adopt children so I can just focus on them. Like, just move to an island and give them everything.”

Meanwhile, the bisexual babe admitted she doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to taking care of a living thing.

“I had a dog, but I had to give him to [my] best friend, because he did not like to travel at all,” she told Us. “And I don’t like little Chihuahuas or poodles or those little dogs those girls carry around. I like bigger dogs, and they get too big for me because I’m small, so I can’t walk them or anything.”

It definitely takes no less than one billion dollars to properly raise a child. I knew a kid who was raised on half a billion and I cannot tell you how messed up he is. Of course billion or not, if you’re raised by anyone with an I.Q. of less than a peanut, you’re going to be screwed no matter what. I hate to break it to Tila, but if you can’t take care of a dog, you probably can’t take care of a kid. And unless she’s planning on moving to a really big, heavily populated island, it’s going to be a challenge to give the kid everything.

It’s too bad Tila doesn’t like Chihuahuas – I think that’d be a much better match for her than a human. The resemblance is uncanny.

Justin Long’s dating life seems to have gone into a tailspin since breaking up with Drew Barrymore a few months ago. He’s been spotted with a lot of girls, including on-and-off lady friend Kirsten Dunst. Even though people made a lot of jokes about him dating Dunst, Justin has clearly found someone even more disliked to hook up with: Tila Tequila. Yes, none other than ferret face.

JUSTIN Long is in a downward spiral when it comes to women. After Drew Barrymore broke up with him, Long took up with Kirsten Dunst, maintaining an on-again, off-again relationship for months with the “Marie Antoinette” star. Tila Tequila is afraid she’s not getting enough attention. Not only is this useless wreck of a creature not concerned about the clearly-killing-herself Amy Winehouse, but Tila thinks it’d be awesome to party with Wino. That’s right, while the rest of us have been following Amy’s downward spiral with trepidation and anxiety (okay most of us…), Tila has been eagerly studying Winehouse’s every move as a lesson in how to live right.

Lindsay Lohan was living with socialite Courtenay Semel in LA late last year. There were rumblings that the two were more than just friends, but Lindsay was also dating guys at the time and she wasn’t seen out much with Courtenay.

Courtenay was said to be jealous of any other women that talked to Lindsay and moved out of the Hollywood home they shared in late January.

Semel is the daughter of Yahoo! CEO Terry Semel, and is now openly dating idiotic reality star Tila Tequila.

Apparently she’s not over Lindsay, though, because she’s resorted to talking to the UK paper that gives ex lovers of celebrities a chance to sensationalize their past – The News of The World. Courtenay told the rag that she’s perplexed that Lindsay so quickly moved on to Samantha. She’s also upset that Lindsay refused to acknowledge their relationship, but is openly dating Samantha now:

Lindsay now does little to disguise the tenderness of her relationship with British DJ Samantha Ronson—but this is only after months of covert gay experiments with stunning brunette Courtenay Semel.

Everyone thinks Samantha is Lindsay’s first lesbian love, but we were very passionate until her fear of being found out drove us apart,” Courtenay told a pal.

“At the time she was terrified her career would be over if she revealed her sexual tendencies.

Throughout the following year, the pair stumbled through an on- off relationship as troubled Lindsay checked into a succession of rehab units and continued to date men as a ‘cover’. But it was as early as January 2007 that she first met 31-year-old Samantha, sister of pop guru Mark Ronson.

This makes it seem as if a lot of Lindsay’s addiction and sexual problems came about as she tried to cope with her feelings toward women. Of course it doesn’t excuse her very obnoxious and harmful behavior, and she’s probably still a self-entitled brat, but at least she’s relatively sober and well-behaved compared to her wild past.

Courtenay eventually left Lindsay when she kept sleeping with men and didn’t seem able to take the relationship seriously. She says that Lindsay and Samanth were just friends for a while and that Samantha often gave her advice. The article concludes by making Courtenay seem like a crazy jealous person who is unable to move on:

By October, Courtenay appeared to have the upper hand. [over Samantha] She and Lindsay moved into a rented house in Beverly Hills. “But still Lindsay brought men back,” the pal added. “Courtenay would throw fits of rage, writing her hundreds of angry e-mails from another room in the house.

Maybe Lohan just never openly dated Semel because their relationship wasn’t stable. It’s no wonder she refused to make it known that they were together when Semel was acting like that – she must have doubted it would last.

Star Magazine reports this week that Courtenay ran into Lindsay and Samantha at a lounge at bar in LA and that she “was staring daggers [at Lindsay and Sam] all night.” It looks like Tila Tequila is more this woman’s speed and that Lindsay made a wise choice by picking Sam.

One of my absolute worst nightmares is being attacked by a passel of mongooses (I had to look that up to make sure the plural wasn’t mongeese). One mongoose I can handle, but multiple mongooses freak me out. And the more there are, the greater the likelihood of being attacked. Tila Tequila is the closest thing I’ve ever seen to a mongoose in human form. And now there might be more than one of her.

Ashley Dupre, of Eliot Spitzer scandal fame, is trying to become the “next Tila Tequila” according to the New York Post. And while she’s not as mongoose-looking as the original thing, there’s still a feret-ish quality that can be seen from certain angles.

After bringing down Gov. Eliot Spitzer and becoming the most infamous hooker in America, Ashley Dupre is about to stoop even lower than prostitution – reality television. The former high-priced call girl is hungry to become the “next Tila Tequila” with a dating-type reality show that she is now developing with a Los Angeles-based company, E! News reported yesterday.

Dupre, 23, doesn’t yet have a deal to air the show – but she is set to kick her plans into high gear by moving to the Left Coast from the New Jersey mansion where she now lives with her mom and wealthy stepdad. Dupre only gave a coy giggle and said “no comment” when asked about the reality-show plans. Her mother, Carolyn Capalbo, fueled speculation further when she laughed and said: “You’ll have to follow her out to LA.”

The governor-loving good-time girl is reportedly working on her reality dreams with Handprint Entertainment, a management company that reps the likes of Nicole Richie and Pamela Anderson. When asked for comment about reports of their working with the legendary lady of the evening, Handprint’s rep hung up on a reporter twice.

Since Ashley’s show is supposed to be a takeoff on Tila Tequila’s show, I’m assuming it will involve both men and women. Otherwise it’d just be another dating show, and I’m assuming they’d compare it to something else. There’s also a rumor out there that she’s done some lesbian stuff in the past.

Ashley had to drop her lawsuit against Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis, who is planning on putting out a tape of her clips, even though the now 23-year-old was only 17 at the time. Which apparently is legal in Florida. One of the rumors about the tape is that Dupre performs some sort of sex act on another woman.

The idea of giving this woman a reality show is just madness. As if reality TV could possibly suck more. Nonetheless, I think I’d probably watch it, if only for the novelty factor.

Have you noticed that there are much fewer stories about Lindsay Lohan lately? A story in People made it abundantly clear that she’s completely fallen off the wagon. While the gossip magazines and sites covered it, it was barely a blip on our radar. She’s living with a woman and we covered a story that she yelled at Ashley Oslen for trying to talk to her girlfriend, saying “Get your 15-year-old Full House ass away from my girlfriend,” but it only got 7 comments. It’s not like anyone really cares about her at this point. Good for her for staying in a relatively long term relationship even if she’s insanely jealous and drinking again.

The stars of faux reality show “The Hills” get more press coverage than Lohan, and that’s really saying something. Over the weekend there was a story that she drink Shirley Temples and seemed to abstain from alcohol while at a gig her girlfriend, DJ Samantha Ronson, played in Las Vegas on Friday, but with Lohan you never can tell if she’s sneaking vodka into her drinks. Nor does anyone particularly seem to care.
